Daniel's Plumbing and Air Conditioning Plumber
Pros: Daniels was able to pivot their estimation visit within the same week when our counter installation job went sideways. They seemed to really understand that stuff goes wrong and that was nice. Two stars for flexibility. The tech they sent, Dallas, was very polite and clear in his communication.Cons: We asked them to quote plumbing hook ups for our new faucet, existing dishwasher and installing our garbage disposal (all on site). They quoted just shy of $1800 for this work, which didn't include any extras like new shut off valves (didn't get to that part of the quote roll out). $1800!! We were floored, and concerned that some people might think this is standard pricing and get taken advantage of.We opted not to go with Daniels (we also know that a loaf of bread doesn't cost $50) but thought a summary of the actual install would be helpful here. The job took less than $50 in supplies, which included lunch, and less than three hours total work, including exchanging the faucet at Home Depot as there was a small crack in one of the lines. The most complex tool used were some channel locks. Looked up pricing on all tools used online and saw a total of $80 if you buy the higher end from home Depot. It's all working great, and we didn't pay anyone $800+ per hour. Maybe we should all become plumbers!!They were friendly folks, though, for sure.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Austin Plumber
I have used Mr. Rooter for quite a few years. They have done a variety of general plumbing jobs for us as well as major jobs like replacing a sewer line. They are always polite and on time, and in general do good work.My most recent experience however, makes me question whether I will use them again. We purchased a new toilet to replace an older model and I was planning to install it myself. However, I discovered that the water cutoff valve to the toilet was an old style valve with flare fittings and could not find a fill line that would fit. So I called Mr. Rooter to replace the valve with a more modern ball valve. I was given an estimate ($286) which seemed really high but I thought maybe it was more complicated than I thought. Well it wasn't -- the technician (who by the way was very nice -- no complaint with him) simply unsoldered the old valve and soldered in an adapter and new valve (actual time to complete all this was like 20 minutes plus a trip to a supply house because he didn't have the correct valve in his truck). So my $150 toilet ended up costing $450 thanks to the valve replacement and I'm still not sure why I was charged so much for the work.

Thunderbird Plumbing Co. Plumber
A co-worker recommended Thunderbird plumbing so I called them up. It's been my best experience during my remodeling project. Jeff came by to see the work area and give me an estimate and was very responsive to my calls and emails. He came in a few days later, right at the time we had scheduled, and made quick work of the shower valve. Plus, he charged about a third of the price another plumbing company had quoted me. I'd recommend Thunderbird to anyone.

Plumb Masters, Inc. Plumber
This place truly is a 24 hr place. The shower valve on one of our upstairs valves stripped last night around 7 PM and wouldn’t turn off!!!! Here it is Labor Day weekend we just started calling plumbers that listed 24 hr emergency service. None of them were available until I found this company. They came out within an hour fixed the shower. Very professional? upfront with cost, and the repair was fast! This will become my new go to place. We also have two AirBNB properties and something inevitably is always going wrong. I’m so thankful to have found this place!
