Clarke Kent Plumbing

I made an appointment for a shower pipe leak that turned out to be a relatively simple job as the pipe just needed some new paste and tape. Unfortunately, while loosening the shower fixture the plumber was not paying enough attention and the majority of the fixture fell.Although I struggled to understand how the plumber could not see that part of the fixture was not screwed into the pipe and would separate when being removed, I understand that accidents happen. However, after resuming the job, the plumber then ended up heavily scratching up the shower fixture when tightening it back up. The plumber also applied what seemed like a pretty amateur silicone caulk as the finishing touches. The caulk was very messy and was missing in some areas, also started cracking the next day so I ended up just removing it and doing it myself after the plumber had left.After all was said and done, the plumber did admit fault for dropping the fixture and said the company would order the part that had been broken and come replace it. I was charged full price for the job even after what had happened. After several weeks of silence, I had to reach out to their customer service myself several times in order to get status updates and schedule a return appointment to replace the broken part. I also mentioned the damages to the wall and floor where the fixture had hit on its way down and they insured me it would be taken care of. They asked if I wanted a different plumber and I insisted on a different one several times, but I ended up with the same person as before.The plumber came and replaced the part and quickly left with no mention of any other repairs. At this point I had completely lost trust and didn't bother following up with the company for anything further. I can understand accidents but there were plenty of moments where my experience could have been much better, and it was instead poor and frustrating. I would definitely not recommend Clarke Kent.

Travis C. is amazing. He came out on a Sunday (when no one else would) and he is very professional and thorough. He is a great communicator too, he explained everything before he did it. He fixed our pretty serious problem in less than an hour. I'll be calling him and Clarke Kent next time I need help. They are really, really great.

We’ve called them out at least five times for different things and have always been completely satisfied. Their plumbers are always courteous and professional, especially Gabriel and Serge! My only complaint is the wide appointment window but I assume that just comes with the territory. Would absolutely recommend this company.

I highly recommend John Garlow and Clarke Kent Plumbing! I had an unusual issue: a prior contractor had allowed concrete to be poured in my toilet drain pipe and solidify. As a result, the pipe was partially blocked and we had serious issues with clogging in that toilet. Two prior plumbers came out and threw their hands in the air, telling me the only solution was to chip away the foundation around that pipe and replace it. When John arrived, he was on time, professional and told me that he thought he could resolve the issue without costly demolition and replacement. It was not an easy task, but John never gave up and, ultimately, fully resolved my issue without destroying my flooring and foundation. If you have a plumbing issue, these are the guys to call. We are first time homeowners who recently dealt with a flood late at night. They were able to get someone (Travis) out here 9am the next morning to help us fix the problem (faulty fill valve + pipe clog). Travis was so helpful, reliable through the process. Great guy, even gave us some tips on pipe maintenance knowing that we were first time homeowners. Really appreciated how quickly they came and were able to help us resolve the issue. Was charged $214 for a tech to come out and diagnose an issue through my property manager. I don't know if that's common in the Austin area but that's unheard of where I live. I think the diagnosis wasn't correct anyway because a different company that had changed the PRV (Plumbcool) ended up coming out and fixing the problem in a simpler manner anyway. I can understand up to $100 maybe but anything beyond $100 for a diagnosis is ridiculous. I would recommend using a different company.

Toilet started to leak from its base when flushed. Called Clarke Kent at 8 am on a Monday morning. They had a standby plumber available. He called at 8:30, was there by 9:00, diagnosed leak as caused by an old worn out wax ring, removed the toilet, installed a new wax ring, reinstalled it, re-caulked around the base and cleaned up everything before he left. Job was done by 9:45. First class responsiveness and service. 5-stars.

I’ve used this company for quite a few plumbing issues since buying our house early 2022. Their service is so inconsistent. One of the people who answers the phone (a younger woman) acts like I’m inconveniencing her when I call to schedule services. One of the plumbers who came out left extra parts, garbage, and some of his tools in our bathtub. I assumed he was coming back, but he never did. All of this is mildly annoying but tolerable so I’ve kept calling them.Last Monday (11/21/22) I called to see if I could get a plumber to hook up my bathroom sink before company arrived for Thanksgiving. They were understandably booked up, so I scheduled for the next available day (today). I was told by the scheduler (pretty sure it’s the same woman I usually talk to) that a plumber would be here at 8am. After waiting two hours this morning for the plumber to show, I called and apparently I didn’t get put on the schedule. ?

Requested service at the nursing home where I work. The service tech discovered a faulty temperature and pressure valve on one of our water heaters. After a week had gone by the new valve failed. Requested service again. Another tech came out and said further work was required and he would send an estimate. 3 weeks later no estimate. After several requests to receive an estimate we gave up and contacted another company. By the way, all this occurred before the big freeze.

The receptionists for this business are horrible. From the first phone call I had nothing but attitude from the office staff. The first plumber who came to my house didn’t bring a ladder despite me informing the receptionist that our tankless water heater was in a downstairs ceiling crawl space 14 feet off the ground. Instead of rescheduling me for someone who had the equipment to handle the job, he tried to tell me that the issue we've been having (scalding hot or ice cold water out of the pipes no matter how the faucet handle is set) is due to hot Texas summers. Yeah, I’ve lived in Texas my whole life. I know that in the summertime, pipes in the outside of the house heat up faster. That wasn’t the issue. After he turned down the temperature of the water hearer from 120° to 115°, he told me that would help the issue and to call back if it didn’t. Surprise surprise, it did not solve my problem. I called back to get another plumber with the right equipment out, once again receiving an attitude from the woman answering the call, and the second plumber charged full price for the services he provided. I thought it was ridiculous that the plumbing company would send an ill-equipped plumber, who charged full price for his services, and then charge us again for the second visit to essentially supplement the first visit. The first bill was $230, the second bill was $150, and when I called to complain about that (again facing attitude from the receptionist) they offered to knock $100 off the second bill. How generous. I’ll never use Clarke Kent Plumbing again.P.S. the water is still insanely hot

Great business! Was able to set up a next-day appointment with a one-hour time window. Received text confirmation of appointment and also a text when the Tech was on his way.Jeremy was very friendly and diagnosed the issue on my water heater. He also gave me a lot of valuable info on the machine, which was super helpful. Jeremy let me know about a parts recall from the manufacturer, as well, that I was otherwise unaware of.Price was reasonable and much cheaper than if I had to replace my whole machine (which is what the manufacturer recommended).Will use Clarke Kent moving forward, for sure!

Very professional and prompt service. Travis was an excellent plumber and I will be requesting him by name if we ever have plumbing issues again. We had a kitchen sink and separately a bathtub that were both blocked up and refusing to drain. Travis came out to and was able to diagnose the problem and fix it almost immediately. He was very respectful to us and tried everything he could to fix our problems without having to over charge us. Juan was my professional yesterday. Arrived with a great attitude and a very friendly demeanor. We’ve had a very persistent clog in our kitchen sink; he quickly assessed the situation and got to work all while keeping great conversation and an inviting presence. After the clog was dealt with he even fixed a leak and readjust the pipes (that i had messed up trying to unclog myself). Professional and excellent service from Juan Martinez. Juan came out on extremely short notice after we had a toilet leak. He fixed the issue efficiently and expertly, and a week later, we've had zero issues. He also took the time to take a look at an unrelated issue with a clogged drain and showed us how to clean it out. Extremely knowledgeable and reliable. Would strongly recommend!

They initially have me a large window of when they might be coming (10am-4pm) but said they would give me a 30min heads up to confirm before they came my way. They sent Evan at 1pm and he was very friendly and professional. The repaired/replaced a part of my toilet quickly and easily. I asked Evan about draining my sink (even though that's not what I initially called for) and he offered to unclog it for me. I really appreciate that he explained to me what he fixed and how he fixed it so I could possibly do it on my own in the future. Overall great experience and will definitely reach out to them for future needs!

The company is not honest on price.We asked them to repair a leaking pipe. After the examination on Friday, the plumber said that he needs to charge $3150 to get it fixed on Saturday, or come later next Monday for $2500.I accepted the coming next Monday for $2500. However, instead of coming next Monday, they came on next Wednesday. (Time is important, as further leaking could potentially damage foundation). And after the work is done. They charged me $2850 and denied the $2500 quote they said.Also, they refused to provide any warranty at the beginning. After our strong argument, they agreed with a conditional warranty.I don’t want to get my property into some legal issue, so I paid $2850 eventually. But would never come to this company again.

I can not speak to the experience of plumbing but this morning on the road I had an encounter with a Clarke Kent Plumbing truck. I pulled into the van’s lane. He sped up and started flashing his lights at me. Then proceed to get close enough to my car to almost hit it from behind. As he passed me, I was flipped off. He then proceed to get in front of my car and slow down in front of me. Right after, he cut across 4 lanes to exit the freeway. If a company is advertising their name in homes or on the road, they should be advertising a company with a character of integrity. Unfortunately, I will not be using Clarke Kent because of this.

I've called Clarke Kent twice now for plumbing issues in our house and Juan Martinez helped us both times. Juan is professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He takes the time to help you understand what's wrong and is patient enough to answer the millions of questions that my warranty provider needed for reimbursement. My house is old and it seemed to make every step as hard as possible, but the guys just kept working until they figured out and repaired each problem. I hired Clarke Kent Plumbing for a drain camera inspection that was meant to take place this morning. I am in the option period for buying our home that ends Monday so timing is pretty important here. Not only did they cancel at the last minute, the only way they'd come back today is if I paid an extra 250 dollars, even though they didn't show up in the first place and have no other availability until my option period is over. I'm really disappointed in the lack of professionalism, and the position they put me in (scrambling to find a plumber that will do an inspection on Memorial day weekend). If you need reliability, look elsewhere.

Clarke Kent Plumbing was the obvious choice with the most recommendations on my neighborhoods Nextdoor site. My friendly tech, Juan Martinez, arrived at the scheduled time and upon hearing it was sewage water that had backed up, referred me to a restoration company to discuss bacteria contamination clean up. He worked quickly to auger my line and ran a camera which showed roots penetrating my line at two points. He explained everything to me in understandable terms and showed me the roots on the camera as well as marking their location on the ground. Unexpectedly and much to my appreciation, he also replaced the fill valve on the toilet in my master bathroom free of charge. Juan went above and beyond to assist me during his service call and has won Clarke Kent my business for any future plumbing work.

We needed a new valve and I called the plumber to come and install. A week after he left, the toilet started running on a drip. I called the plumber back out and he said the stopper in the tank also needed to be replaced and charged me $100 to fix. I don't think this is fair because the plumber should have recognized this part also needed to be replaced when he replaced the valve. It's rather poor service to charge that price on a follow up for an oversight that y'all made.

I had a ceiling leak in my house, called Clarke Kent Plumbing and a very personable, upbeat young man Evan coming for a visit shortly. He established very quickly that my tenants collected a paddle of water on the bathroom floor behind the toilet, not being careful with the shower curtain. That most probably caused the leak. He didn't charge me for the visit. I'll most certainly be calling them if I have issue in my house.

Clarke Kent was very responsive, even when all the other plumbers I called were busy with the aftermath of last week's freeze. They came out very quickly, and Mickey was on time, very professional and efficient, and willing to answer my many questions. My girlfriend and I removed a plant from our yard that pulled up super easily, and had a mysterious build up of standing water under the roots. After unearthing the source (a leaking pipe!) Once uncovered and no longer held in place by the dirt around it, the leak got WAY worse and started filling the hole. We shut off our water and filled out the contact form for Clarke Kent plumbing online, they called us first thing in the morning, and even though they're still backed up from snowpocalypse, got someone out to our house about a day/24 hours after they contacted us. Our technician Mickey was fast, cordial, professional, and fixed the leak in *record* time. Our bill was about half what I was expecting/hoping it might be. Mickey also ran some tests on our water pressure and checked out everything to make sure we were well taken care of before he left.Absolute 10/10 service, professionalism, and quality of work as far as I can tell (I'm not a plumber, I just know that my water is back on and my yard is no longer a mud bath.) :) What I thought was going to be a thousand dollars and a miserable week was about a day and 300 bucks. Travis Connor did a great job trying his best to find our location of the sewer drain.Our drain was hidden on the property and he could not use the typical entry points inside the home for video detection because of tile built around a toilet so he didn't feel comfortable pulling up our toilet and our p-traps in our sinks were glued together (non of this is typical).He ended up having to climb on the roof and use a vent pipe to locate our location of where our drain line is on our property.He did a great job and did not give up despite all the non typical issues of simply locating a drain pipe!!

My kitchen sink was clogged and Juan Martinez w Clarke Kent arrived within an hour of my phone call to the business. Juan assessed the situation and fixed the clogged pipe in about 30 minutes. He also gave me a tip about what garbage disposal to get as my current one recently broke. Juan was very professional, well mannered and respectful and will definitely use him again. We've used Clarke Kent Plumbing for years and they're great - really responsive and thorough and polite. Most recently we had a plumbing emergency and they totally too care of us. We called in on a weekend and Krista called us right back and worked some magic to rearrange their schedule so someone could come out quickly. Juan came by in a van and diagnosed the problem, cleared the blockage and ran a high tech camera down the line to identify exactly where the problem was so we could call the City to have it fixed. These guys are the plumbers in Austin to call when you need your problem fixed and don't want to mess around.

Juan and Trey did a really great job clearing out my yard drains, two of which run under the house, after we experienced some scary backing-up moments due to all the rain. They were on time, thorough and went the extra mile to make sure all was clear and draining correctly. Very happy with their work.

It's Sunday. It's 39 degrees outside and raining. Your drain is completely blocked somewhere in the five feet between the clean out hole and your septic system. You've tried, but can't reach the clog. It's also a holiday weekend and your house if full of family.You also tried another company the day before, but they completely let you down. They said they would be out before 6PM. At 5:30 they call and say they can't make it, but promise to be there the next morning. Next day, you call at 11AM to see where they are, only to learn that they can't make it until after 4PM.I call Clarke Kent Plumbing and get their answering service. A person calls me back in less than 15min and says they'll have a person out in an hour. An hour later Juan Martinez shows up. I show him the problem, he gives me an estimate that I accept, and he gets right to work. Turns out it was a grease clog. He cleans it out, checks out the line with a camera, and all looks good. As he's cleaning up, he mentions that he's glad this wasn't a nasty job. He's in the rain, it's cold, he's standing in mud operating a drain auger, and clearing a clog of grease mixed with municipal sludge. I'd hate to see what he thinks is a nasty job.Juan Martinez did a super job. Professional, up front, courteous, and he got our house working again on a rainy cold Sunday. Thanks!

Like many Texans, I recently had plumbing issues in my home, and was put on a waiting list at a couple plumbers. Clarke Kent was able to service me sooner than expected, and my plumber and technician were the bomb. Sure, I would rather have not had to shell out money these days, but Mickey and Josh were efficient, communicated well, and were all around good vibes. I hope I don't have to, but I would definitely hire again.

I have used Clarke Kent a handful of times. Most recently they've assisted me with replacing an outside PRV valve and assisting with the installation of supply and drain lines for a bathroom. Worked with Josh and found him to be very courteous, honest, and friendly. He was happy to walk me through the process and gave me some pointers on how he was performing the work. Will definitely call CK again if I have any issues.

So extremely pleased with Travis’s service today. I had a major back up in my pipes which flooded my whole bathroom. I called Clarke Kent, who was the 5th place I called, and the only place who had availability to come out. And Travis was at my house 30 minutes later. Talk about fast service. I work at Olive Garden and we were 3 hrs away from starting our dinner rush, when we noticed that we had a problem with one of our sinks in our main bathroom. We called Clarke Kent Plumbing and they sent us Juan Martinez, who was in the area at that time. He arrived with in the hour and took care of the problem.right in time for us to be ready for that dinner rush. I will greatly recommend this company and Mr. Juan to everyone.

My home warranty sent out three different plumbers who did not know how to work on a power vent water heater that also heats a hydronic heating system. Clark Kent does and does it very efficiently and cost effectively and gave me the materials I needed to resubmit to the warranty. Don't waste your time with two-star plumbers sent out through your home warranty. These guys are efficient and have excellent customer service and actually show up when they say they are going to.

I called this place on a Monday afternoon around lunch time, they were there by 3pm. The job was done by 4pm. Juan Martinez was our service guy - super nice and communicative. Did a great job. Would recommend, and will be back... knock on wood!!

Hello, I’m a Hospital Administrator & was told the manager of this company pulled his plumber off the current assignment at our facility to re-route his plumber to a local restaurant. Honestly, I thought the report couldn’t possibly be true due to the severity in circumstances and patients/staff being potentially affected. Unfortunately, it was true as I was able to review the message the manager sent to his plumber onsite. I have never experienced a company that was so unprofessional & lacking regard for a critical access facility as the situation at hand created hazards & affected the environment of care for patients & staff alike. Sewer was backing up through the showers located in multiple patient’s rooms. I advised my team to call & see if we could offer more money & apparently the direction had already been given so it was not considered. If a company has no regard for a healthcare facility & its ability to provide patient care I have a hard time believing the ratings are completely accurate. I will be filing a formal complaint to the Texas Board of Examiners for Plumbing along with a couple others. The manager should be ashamed of his actions to disregard human life. The patients are in a hospital to get better & our job is to ensure their setting is not only clean but very comfortable. I’m sure the manager would understand this had he been a patient. Everyone holding a title in leadership does not mean their truly equipped to hold the position.On 7/20/2021, I received this very generic response. Thankfully, my Director reviewed you too & it appears you were a little more open for ears. I didn’t think I had to advise our hospital had used you for years. But, assuredly we won’t now. The letter to the plumbing association will follow shortly too.

After calling another service and told it would be 5 days before they could come out, I called Clarke Kent. They said they could be out today. Gabriel and Marshal came out to fix an issue with my sink. Very pleased with their repairs. They took care of what needed to be done and both were very friendly and professional.

Definitely incompetent. Had couple estimates and decided to work with them. Called the day before our agreed on date because I never heard from them, they said they didn't have me scheduled. Fortunately they had the spot still open.The day of the appointment they were late. Never bothered to let me know although I had tennants I needed to inform about shutting the water off. The guy eventually arrives, not knowing what the job is. He had to go to the store to buy what he needed. Seriously?Then I showed him two other issues I'm having. The first one I asked if a male to female connector exists because I didn't find it at home Depot. He said it doesn't exist and even told me he would check with the plumbing store as he was going there anyway. He came back confirming it doesn't exist. After he left, I went to the plumbing store myself and asked about it, I was promptly directed to where the part is.....The other issue, I had a pot filler leaking when I try to install it. He suggested we open up the wall and move the plumbing. I kept asking how would that solve the problem and he couldn't answer. He just kept repeating that the wall needs to be opened. He gave me an estimate of $700. I knew it wasn't what was needed. I told the guys at the plumbing store and they laughed at him. Eventually another plumber came and fixed it super easy. No walls needed to be opened.The guy was truly clueless about everything. I wonder if he is even licensed. Would never work with these guys ever again.

My contractor was working on a landscaping project when one of the workers accidentally hit the water line at 3pm. Our regular plumbers were on vacation, so we called Clarke Kent Plumbing to help us out.The repair required the cut out and replacement of a 3 section of 1 copper line. Line had already been exposed and dug out. The dispatcher told me at 3:15pm the technician was on his way. I received three more calls that he was running late but on his way.Contractor showed up at 5:15. Said price to cut copper and install replacement part would be $850. Claimed he had to charge overtime since it was after 5pm and needed to run back to his shop to pick up more material.Long story short, after lots of negotiation and discussion, we asked the plumber to leave and trapped another resource, who performed the same exercise required for $200.Unfortunately, this experience is not unique to Clarke Kent and is a major issue in the Austin market. It is the reason why we have started a company to help people manage these types of situations and not deal with short sighted, outrageous charges.

CKP came out within an hour after I originally called. Maybe I just got lucky in that today is slow, but I was grateful for that. What compelled me to write this review is the level of integrity that the plumber demonstrated. While I ended up not going with a repair today, Clarke Kent has earned my business and loyalty whenever another plumbing issue invariably arises in the future. They'll be the first folks I call. This company has low ratings for a reason. The lack of professionalism, competency, and expertise appears to be systematic in nature. I had such a horrible experience that I had asked that the manager of this employee call me. I was told it was Gary Hacker who is also an owner. As an owner of a company I would want to do everything in my power to ensure that my employees were treating people with respect, doing their job well and positively representing my company. Mr. Hacker never called.If the owner does not care then why should an employee?Do yourself a favor and find another plumber.

I can't say enough about the job that Mickey did at our condo complex. It was after hours after he worked all day and he still had a positive attitude.When we called him we knew we had leaks from underground but not sure where. He used his expertise to locate the water leaks underground quickly ... and limited damage to our deck by narrowing down where the leak was coming from before boards were removed from the deck.The job held up great - Mickey is a great professional and clark kent is lucky to have him. We tried many plumbers in the past in Austin and we are sticking with Clark Kent from now on.

Very happy with the Service. Josh Parker is an excellent plumber who goes above and beyond to make sure your problem is fixed. He will be my permanent plumber as he provided an excellent service and fixed my pluming issue while other companies dragging for days and thousand $ in cost for few hundred bucks and solved in just 1 hour. He even went extra mile to get my replacement part from Vendor free of charge by calling them with out even asking for. He even followed up next day to make sure every thing is working fine.

Not only did they take 6 hours to inspect the leak, they told us the only way they could figure out where the leak is is to use a carbon machine which would cost us $550. if they didn't find the leak, they would expense this. However, if they found the source of the leak, we would pay for this.Desperate and admittedly ignorant, I said yes.They went out to buy this machine, came back, and confirmed the leak to be in the bathroom sink. Then they said they would have to tear down the wall, run a new line, all in all it would cost $2000 just to open the wall and another estimated $10 to 15,000 to run the line depending on what they found. We were shocked.Cut to: we called a leak detection company. paid $475 for them to detect a leak with hi-tech equipment. They found leak in our toilet sealant, gave us a video of the detection for our records, and said it would be an easy fix estimated around $200.We called Clarke Kent and asked to be reimbursed for their misdiagnosis. They came, they made all sort of excuses, now they refuse to get back to us on anything. They asked for all our receipts and said they would get in touch with the company that fixed the leak to figure out what they did. In short, it has been months and still no response to any of our calls.We feel they are totally incompetent at best, corrupt at worst. Beware before considering them.

When I used them for installing my toilet, they were so fast and were able to do it that day!! They gave me a warranty as well, if anything was to go wrong or leak! I needed my sink plumbing done and, I wished the “on call” operator was pleasant because I didnt know they didn’t work weekends because advertised it says open 24 hrs. I asked to leave a message and she rudely responded. I would have loved to use their service again but needed some info at that moment and not a dead end without a way to reach out after hours.

Homeowner beware with this crew. They sent Shane, a Field Supervisor out to review the request, hooking up 2 sinks (1 with garbage disposal and dishwasher connected) and a washing machine. Shane told me that he would submit it as time and materials. 5 days later, Tech comes out, not prepared to do the work, and writes up a bid for over $2k. tells me that this is standard book, not a time and materials bid. Call the office. Takes 10 minutes for them to even figure out who originally came to the house, no record of Shane submitting anything for the job. Shane says he told them time and materials and that's what Paul the tech is quoting us. Paul the tech is telling us in person he's not authorized to quote us time and materials. Office won't hold to Shane's word.When hiring a company in the trades, find one that stands by the word of their team. this ain't the one.

I had a great experience with Clarke Kent Plumbing! An emergency leak is a stressful event for a homeowner. I had called three companies and only Clarke Kent called me back with a plumber to walk me through turning my main line off to stop the water immediately. They showed up on site quickly and communicated every step of the way. I was pleased with the service of the office and plumber, I will use them again.

Company was quick and efficient to quote a replacement gas water heater and quoted a fair price. However, the price was all-inclusive and did not break out labor and materials, which I require from any vendor. Clarke Kent refused to break out labor and materials and, as such, I will look elsewhere for the services I need. It's hard to believe any company would walk away from revenue like this. They must have more business than they can handle...

It was super-easy to get someone out the same day. The worker was so smart. He thought through many possible causes of the drainage issue, avoiding jumping to the most invasive ways to diagnose the problem. Finally he was able to clear the pipe improvising a bit with his equipment. This organization is a good one!

We had called other plumbers they said they could get to us in about a day! When I called Clark Kent they said in a couple of hours and they did call back (Juan) showed up did the job on a clog line that was back up for days! He was in and out in about and hour there not cheep $300 just for a camera to fined the clog! $225 for the clean out! But a well done job!

Had to continue to have them out to my home to repair a gas leak.They has several issues trying to get the leak rpaired, and still I cannot use my range because everytime I turn it on, gas fumes fill my home.They stated that they lighted the hot water heater, but did not! They did not want to come back and work with the gas supplier, so that all the appliances that use gas could be re-lighted at the same time. They wanted me to do their handy work. I was lost. I paid them $800.00, and stil cannot use my range.

Serge Char was great in installing a new water heater after I had wasted 2 weeks in limbo with a supposed home warranty company. Don't waste your $ and time on a fake home warranty, just save it and get Clarke Kent to fix your plumbing issues. It wasn't cheap, but it was less costly than not having hot water and a water heater that wasn't up to code in the first place. Great experience and I feel confident it was done right this time.

Last week a plumber from Clarke Kent came out, and I had a frustrating experience. I emailed the company over the weekend to express that the repair hadn't gone as I expected. At 8am on Monday, I received a call from the office that they wanted to send someone out immediately to replace the part that I didn't like. Wow. Great customer service. The fastest response times of several plumbers I called, and after this resolution to the issue I had with them, I'll never go anywhere else for plumbing.

I get that the snowstorm caused a lot of chaos in Austin, but was pretty unimpressed with the customer service from Clarke Kent Plumbing. The guy I spoke to put me on the waiting list, and I was not contacted again. He was also pretty rude on the phone, and when I told him I had measured the diameter of the burst pipe to be 9/16 he corrected me and said it must be 3/4... that's not how fractions work.

The 1st person they sent out was awful and I was seriously contemplating writing a bad review. However, as soon as I contacted them about the problem, they stepped up, sent out another plumber and completely took care of every problem. They are very courteous and professional, but crazy expensive! Memo came out and quoted me $900 to install two new faucets for my bathroom sinks. Unfortunately, I was not given any estimates beforehand and I don't have the time to get a lot of quotes.

I manage a 93 unit condo building. A resident scheduled them to come out and replace a toilet that was leaking into another person's space. Due to the work that needed to be done, a building-wide water shutoff needed to take place. I called the week before and told them exactly what needed to be done and what hardware was needed. Plumber arrived the next week only prepared to give a bid. Naturally, I was dumbfounded considering what I had told them several days prior. I explained our time constraints with scheduling the shutoff and asked how long it would take him to be ready. He turned around, said Have a nice day and left. Don't touch this company if you have any sort of timeline. They won't be ready even they know exactly what's coming.

Juan Martinez was very friendly and knowledgeable when he responded to a service call. He quickly diagnosed the problem and made sure it was taken care of completely, explaining to us how to keep the problem from happening in the future.

I called Clarke Kent because I was having problems with my water softener. Their technician came and quoted me $1,117 to repair the unit, or $2,531 to install a new unit provided by them. I decided to get a second opinion from Radiant Plumbing, and they came and repaired my unit with minor adjustments for under $200. I'm thinking that either the technician from Clarke Kent is very inexperienced, or they were trying to hose me. I will not be calling Clarke Kent again for any plumbing services, and strongly advise homeowners to always get a second opinion when you receive a large estimate for repairs.

We use Clarke Kent for all of our big plumbing repairs. They come out super fast, and always get the job done in a timely manner. Competitive pricing too.EDIT: Was a 5 star review; now a 2. Customer Service has gone down hill big time. Talked to Mickey. Put in a work request. Was told someone would be here between 10AM-3PM the next day. 3PM comes, and no one has showed up yet. Gives the run around about when someone can come by because they're all on a call. I get that, but how do you lose the service request in the first place? Isn't that your job?On another note: We had a different project/leak, which was time consuming and tedious. We *thought* the repair was done, as it appeared to be. After further discovery, we realized it was not repaired. We call them back out to look at it, and they tell us there is no leak, but standing water due to the rain. When I called, however, we had not had rain in weeks prior. Someone comes out, looks at it for 30 seconds, tells us they'll keep an eye on it and leaves. They come back a week a half later, and lo and behold, the grass is still saturated with water where the leak was initially, and no rain. Just craziness. It is disappointing because we use Clarke Kent for all of our plumbing needs, and we have multiple other properties in the area that use them as well. They are no longer reliable or trustworthy.

I scheduled two different inspections with them. One cost me $300. The estimate for one of them never arrived. I called the company several times asking for it, it took about 4 calls to get anyone to actually deliver. The estimate was much higher than the technician said it would be, so I was promised a phone call explaining the change in price. No one ever called. I also tried to schedule the work and the scheduling department never returned my calls.

I had Clarke Kent come out awhile ago for a repair that was under warranty. They fixed that issue, but after they left I noticed my hot water was running out very fast. My family and I made due for quite some time, but finally called a different company out when our hot water just wouldn't make it through an entire shower. The other company found wires that were never re-attached to my bottom thermostat, giving me use of only half a tank of hot water. They also said how lucky I was that there hadn't been a fire. I asked CK to reimburse me for the repair since it was their mistake that was fixed. They refused, and only offered a credit for future services. NEVER would I use them again, even for free services.

Our property management company hired these guys to fix an issue at our house. They left a message, we responded and scheduled an appointment for the next day (conveniently between 10 and 2). They said they would give us an hour notice. Flash to the next morning, when they wake us up at 7:30 a.m. and say they can have someone by in 30 minutes. And when we had the audacity to point out that it was rather early, the dispatcher turned snippy, which seems to be her default setting (if you are sitting around in the morning wanting someone to be rude to you, give her a jingle!) Then they showed up unaanounced at 8:45 this morning to turn off the water, and when we objected, the technician uttered a millenial ululation of I'm having a rough morning. If you have enough time for a level 7 hipster mustache, then your day can't be that rough.The manager ignored my first phone call three days ago, and my hopes aren't high he'll return the second call.One wishes they were as mild mannered and polite as their namesake -- instead, they are just super jerks.

Large 5 hour service windows with no updates. Rescheduled half an hour after the close of window. When I spoke to the office the staff commented that they were very backed up and knew they were going to have to reschedule. Didn’t bother to let us know until an entire day of PTO was wasted. I understand the policy, but not the lack of customer concern. Shame on you Clark Kent Plumbing.

Stephen diagnosed and fixed a problem with the plumbing associatiated with our toilet. This is a rental unit, so the issue with our plumbing affected the downstairs apartment. After trying multiple times and failing to contact our property manager for permission to proceed with fixing the problem, Stephen was obligated to leave and return at a later date, but was our advocate for fixing the issue immediately. After finally reaching the property manager, he received clearance to fix the plumbing that is shared by both units (upstairs and downstairs), staying well beyond normal business hours to make sure we were both taken care of. Our water heater control valve broke on Friday so I called some plumbers Saturday morning. The first place actually referred me to Clarke Kent because they were an authorized service provider for our heater and it was under warranty. I them contact my wife since I was at work and they needed to call back to give an ETA on a technician. They quoted my wife $275 for a weekend rate, or $175 on a weekday, so she told them Monday would work. Monday morning we called to confirm the appt. and was told 12pm-2pm window. At this time they also asked for the model#, so I gladly provided the model# and serial# of water heater so they knew what part was needed.2pm rolls around and nobody showed, so I called and we ended up having appt. rescheduled to Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning the tech shows and tells me it will be $275. Then looks at water heater and tells me he didn't bring the right part, so I would have to pay him $375 to go pick it up and come back. My wife and I chose to refuse service at that point. I called Clarke Kent back and discussed the issue and outrageous price, and was told shortly after that it would be $375 take it or leave it (not word for word).I called another plumber, which will receive a raving review but I will not advertise their name here. They were also an authorized service provider for the water heater. I will leave out the details, but in the end it took them around 15 minutes to fix and cost $86.My personal opinion is to seek service elsewhere. Too many extra days without hot water due to this issue.

The girls they have answering the phones never know what is going on and they make up thousands of excuses on why you can't talk to a manager. When they finally go out to the house, they say it's one part and then no it's another part and then it's you need a new water heater. The water heater in questions is under warranty so the only cost to put in a new water heater is labor. You would think that would cost you a couple hundred dollars, oh no, try $1,000 to install a water heater. They say that's because it takes them all day. Well if it takes you all day, then you don't know what you are doing. We have had 6 other homes get new water heaters, 3 hours is what it took and one even had to make the door larger. Get a second opinion before hiring them.

I wish that I could give my experience with this company zero stars. I had a plumber come out to my house to fix a clogged bathroom. He was able to get some drainage relief for the bathroom by using an auger, but apparently did not get the clog permanently fixed. The plumber then went on to charge me $300 for 20 mins. of letting the machine run and snake through my bathroom pipes. The plumber was also unable to retrieve anything from the pipes to know what or where the clog was. Obviously I'm not a plumber so when a professional says that they've completed a job, I'm expecting to have a complete and permanent fix. After not using the toilet for awhile, finally have the opportunity and behold I have the same issue.After reaching out to Clarke Kent Plumbing Inc., I was made aware that they weren't going to be able to send a plumber out for free to fix the clog that wasn't fixed in the first place because the plumber wrote a note that read there was abuse to my plumbing. He stated that he saw baby wipes in the bathroom as a reference to void the guarantee to come fix the problem within 30 days. I didn't notice this on the receipt or have it pointed out and signed, and the customer service that I was given was more of a we're not helping you because you signed the receipt type of service. They certainly weren't trying to make right something that was clearly an issue with their plumber. Even still I asked the company to send someone else out to fix the issue. Once the new plumber arrives, they to try to charge me much more than $300 for services that should have been provided with the last plumber that was not which was a direct slap in the face(again); I also overheard him talking to his manger and state that they believe I was overcharged for the type of service I was provided. Even the manager on the other line agreed.I ended up calling another service who was able to come out immediately and fix the problem(and guarantee their work!) for a lot less than Clarke Kent Plumbing LLC. Even after I called and complained to the company with these same very facts, they defended their practice and employee and never even acknowledged any validity to anything that I was saying; although professionally they knew that I was overcharged for the service they provided. I promised the company that I would do my very best to have my experience shared with as many people as I could and I plan of doing just that. I'm simply a homeowner that is extremely tired of getting ripped off because I trust companies to act in my best interest. If you end up running into this company in your search, please do yourself and favor and pay attention to everything as it seems they aren't looking for repeat customers.

Worst plumbing company ever! Got their info from a neighbor and called them to fix a leak in an outdoor pipe. A guy showed up on time and found the leak quickly. It went downhill from there. After giving me a very high estimate which I accepted because I wanted to fix this problem ASAP, this guy started digging. About 45 min later, he came to my door and told me he needed to show me something. Looked like there are some roots from a tree nearby in the way. The guy gave me two options, either chop down the tree so he can cut all the roots without the tree falling down or reroute which will more than double the already high estimate. I was so surprised by what he said but didn't really know what to do so I ask him to give the invoice for what he did. He charged me 355 bucks and just placed the dirt back onto the leaking pipe. The next day I found another plumber recommended by a friend. He cut out a little roots, dug a nice trench, and fixed the leak for a fraction of the estimate Clarke gave me. It was outrageous that this company sent some incompetent plumber to customers and waste our time by lying and still charged the full rate for doing nothing. Do not use them!!!!!

An amazing family run company. They have your best interest at heart and have the skill level to back up the job with excellence. We had so many plumbing issues and they were able to find all the problems and resolve them quickly.

We'd had multiple plumbing issues going back for over two years. Our washing machine drain was backing up causing water to flood our utility room and kitchen (sometimes the kitchen sink would fill with awful-smelling water - and when this would happen the pipes beneath the kitchen sink would leak because they were not cut and joined properly). Our kitchen sink and dishwasher smelled horrible all the time. Our sprinkler heads would not come up at all and it took nearly 10 minutes to fill a bathtub.The city said the problems were on our side. Our sprinkler guy said the sprinklers were functioning just fine and that the problem was upstream from the sprinkler system).We've had plumbers come out to try and diagnose the problems - but we were never very confident that their solutions would resolve things.. One company wanted to dig up the yard to replace piping from the city to the house! Nobody seemed to know what to do.We called CK and they sent out Eli. He correctly guessed that our outgoing water drain (past where the washing machine and kitchen pipes join together) was partially-clogged. First thing he did was to snake the pipes from the kitchen to past the washing machine join. No more water backing up! Then he provided brand-new piping using chrome piping under the sink to prevent any further leaks IF it backed up again. It looks fantastic, much better than before.With those problems fixed they sent Gabriel Contreras to evaluate the low water flow.Gabriel took apart the PRV and attached our neighbors water hose (we asked first!) to backflush water from our house to the street to see what was causing the problem. Nothing. Then he used a co2 bottle to push what may be causing problem. Still nothing. He kept using water and co2 - all that came out was a little bit of scale. This gave him high confidence that the problem was on the city side, not ours and recommended that we ask the city to do a volume flow test.:Gabe didn't fix the problem but he correctly identified that the issue was on the city side and they would need to fix it. So we had the city come out, told them what CK had determined and waited for them to complete their tests at the street level...what do you know, they admitted that the issue was not only on their side but causing flow/volume issues for our neighbor as well! Several work trucks later the issue was quickly resolved by the city...we have the souvenir to prove it (a bullhorn with a rock perfectly stuck inside).We would not hesitate to recommend CK to ANYBODY.

The guy came out to hook up my propane fireplace and did a good job. I had asked the scheduler prior to him coming out what the charges would be. She said they charge a 45 dollar service charge and 25 dollars for every quarter hour. I thought that was a little expensive but went ahead anyway. After the guy hooked it up, he went to his van for about 5 minutes to write up the work order. When he came back, I saw I was being charged 49 for the service charge, a 24.50 shop fee for supplies that amounted to a piece of tape and an hour even though it only took 45 minutes becuase they round up. I called to complain and the lady was fairly rude about it until the service tech said he would remove the shop fee. I am thankful that I did not use this company for any major service as I'm sure I would be overcharged much more. I would not recommend them and would not use them again.

This is a very expensive and no heart of a company. We had a death in the family and had a bunch of guests over, so I was not going to spend an hour to unclog a pipe so I thought let me get some help. All that had to be done was run a wire to unclog the pipe. Was a simple lifting the toilet and running a snake. Charged us $500. I would NOT recommend this company. Plz change your name as you're definitely no hero with a heart and I happen to love superman.

They are the worst plumbers I have ever met! I was having a very basic sink installed in my bathroom. It was meant to sit on a half stem. The first plumber (apprentice) came out and first he did not center it on the wall, they he could not set it up on the half stem, he told me it would work sitting on the brackets. He had to support the sink on my plastic box I use for decorations and told me to leave it overnight while the caulk set He gave me a bill for $700.00 Charging me overtime even though the appointment was schedule for 2pm and he did not show up until 5 and when he could not finish he called in another apprentice plumber to help out. So I was charged for two plumbers and overtime. The next morning when I removed (or tried to remove the plastic box) it started to pull away. I called the owner and was told that they would come fix it at no charge, i was impressed that they were going to take care of it in this matter....but no cost meant I still owed the original $700.00....outrageous never never never use these plumbers

I will continue to use CUP.

We had an appt with this plumbing service for this morning so my husband stayed home to wait to speak to the plumber about the work we needed quoted. When no one had called by appointed time I called their office only to be told that they may not get to us until later in the afternoon. We continued to wait and wait. At 4:15pm we got a call from them informing us that they would not be sending anyone out to us today at all and asked us if we wanted to reschedule for another day. My husband was understandably furious because he wasted a work day waiting for someone to show up. We were obviously disappointed with the lack of professionalism this company displayed so we passed on rescheduling and found someone else to work with.

I can't say this enough, avoid this company like The Plague.My clients needed a slab leak inspection outside of Pflugerville and after making several dozen calls on a Friday afternoon, and getting the same, We don't service that far out. I discovered Clarke Kent Plumbing could service the area. The scheduler said they would come by that Monday between 10am-5pm.The 7 hour service window was odd as all other plumbers I had used would, at worst, give me a 2 hour window, but I was just glad to have someone coming out.At 1pm that Monday I called to check the status of the arrival. The scheduler had forgotten to put me on the schedule. There went my Monday. Since we still needed this inspection I made an appointment for Tuesday with the same 10am-5pm window.I rearranged several appointments to be sure I was available when the call came on Tuesday to open the door for the inspector. I called every hour to check the status and was finally asked at 3:00 to please stop calling, they would get there before 5:00. I could hear the scheduler roll her eyes!At 4:27 pm I received a call from the scheduler to inform me, Sorry, we don't service that area. Un-be-lievable. There was no remorse for the problems that their poor service had caused or the loss of yet another work day.Nothing.Like I said, avoid this company like The Plague. I wish there was a No Stars rating!

This company walked away from a leak on a Friday leaving over 100 occupants without any facilities until Monday, and on Monday they left for lunch and still have not returned! We are still without water!

I called them to fix a water leak and they looked at it and said they could do it and quoted me a price. After they attempted unsucessfully to make the repair, i was told i needed a $3,500.00 water reroute and my originally small leak is much worse then when they started working on it. I have tried to get them to fix it unsucessfully. I will never use this plummer again and would recomend you dont either.

Half of an entire apartment building has no water because of a bad valve on the boiler. This is on Christmas Eve. So we go that day, Christmas Day as well with out hot water. The part arrives the day after Christmas which is a Thursday and the tech says that since it came in after 2:00 he would return the following day to put it on. So this guy leaves about 40 families without hot water for an extra night so that he does not have to work by flashlight!!!!!!!???? Where I come from plumbers like this end up bagging groceries for a living. Just pathetic. Call anyone but these lazy losers.

They say that when you call that they will answer. If you call them from a business that has a recording, they hang the phone up on you and then when you call from your personal phone they answer and are absolutely very RUDE. This shows how they handle their business. Stay away from this company and most importantly DO NOT CALL them.

What a bunch of idiots! I had a warranty water heater replacement and even it had written on it to go to a specific location for warranty purposes. They obviously can’t read! Clark Kent took it to the wrong place and screwed up the warranty.

Had an excellent experience with CK Plumbing! Called about an issue and they were able to send out a tech same day. Richard was excellent; diagnosed and fixed the plumbing issue within an hour. Cleaned up after the job and wore shoe covers while in the house. The rate was slightly steep (at the top of the average rate for the service in the industry) but the quick turn around time and great work makes it worth it. Thanks to CKP and Richard!
