Wow, this was the most disappointing display of summer heat exploitation I've encountered, in my opinion. On Monday, June 4 we had an appointment with Hays to come out between 4-6pm, as one of our a/c units was blowing hot air. When no one arrived by 6:10pm, I called their work line which stated they were closed and to call their answering service number, which I did. The person answered the call and said, in very broken English, they would have someone call back with status. At 6:22pm someone called and said they had just finished their job and was on the way. At 6:27pm, someone else called and identified himself as the manager, and stated the technician was still over 40 minutes away, and asked if someone could just come tomorrow instead because it was getting too late for his guys. No apology and not a very polite tone. I told him that the tech had just called me and said he was on the way, and the manager said well he's wrong he's still finishing up, and pressed me to move it to the next day again. I expressed explicit displeasure, it's 108 degrees and I have three children under four years old. He agreed but was not polite about it. The tech finally arrived a little after 7pm and after 30 minutes advised us it was a dual capacitor that needed replaced, which would only take him another 10 minutes. He did the work and provided us with a bill of $364.95, the breakdown was $295 for the part and $79.95 trip charge. We paid it right away because it was 7:45pm and we're trying to get the kids ready for bed and it's HOT. The next morning we googled how much this part was and it's eleven bucks. That's right folks, $11! Now while we fully understand markups are a necessary part of any business, this is absolutely insane. My husband called the manager and said hey listen, this part can be found online for less than $15- what gives? The manager initially denied it, saying there's no way you can find that part for less than $15 etc. etc. After some back and forth the manager finally conceded that yes, in fact, the part is very inexpensive but justified it by saying I have a lot of expenses. No partial rebate offered, no apology for being late or lying. So folks, be very aware of who and what this company actually is. Unbelievable.

Took my credit card ahead of job and never called with a quote to fix. Just did the job and charged me. Was very unhappy with the service and very high price. Wouldn't recommend at all.

We were so impressed with the service, we signed on for a 3 year contract with biannual maintenance. Manny came back to service 2 units for us a couple weeks later. Three years ago, we had a water softener and a Reverse Osmosis system installed by Parker and Sons through Costco. It has been nothing but constant aggravation and persistent lies on the part of this company. We were told that the water softener would regenerate less often than our older system and that it would use less water in doing so and the regeneration process would take place every so many gallons of usage. Well, there was no truth in that. I am awakened nearly every two or three mornings at 2 AM at the sound of the system regenerating. We had called about this, and we were told that they would see to it that the system would be reset to regenerate as per usage. After two or three visits on their part, we were told that “it is what it is”, and that it would regenerate more often than what was incorrectly stated by the initial representative and the prior technicians. In the meantime, they also told us that the filters on the RO system would not need to be changed more than once per year. At 2:15 AM, six months after the installation, I would get text notifications every single morning that the filters needed to be changed. At LEAST four times they insisted that this was resolved but it took until last year for that to finally be remedied. This past Monday I called at 4 PM to set up an appointment to have the filters changed, which was needed, and so that I would not be awakened at 2:15 each morning with these text notifications. I was told by the person who answered (who, BTW, had mentioned that he remembered me because of the mispronunciation of my last name) that a technician would arrive between 8 and noon on Thursday. At 11:45 on Thursday I called to see if a technician was still going to arrive, and they had no record of my having called for an appointment. That is the second time that they did that to us. They informed me that they would send a technician between noon and 4 PM. The job was completed. From that next morning, onward, I have been receiving text notifications at 2:15 AM that the filters need to be changed. I made them aware of this by calling them as well as by emailing them and they insisted that the technician reset it. This morning, after having been awakened again at 2:15, I decided to remove the batteries so that it would disconnect from the Wi-Fi. Thank goodness that I did, indeed, go under the sink. The filter (or filters) was (were) improperly installed and my cabinet was flooded. They are supposedly a 24/7 company, but they are useless and incompetent. I called Costco to notify them of the situation and they told me to keep calling Parker and Sons. When I did call back, they told me that I would be scheduled for Monday for between 8 and noon. Poor quality, incompetent service, poor customer service, and misinformation! A manager will be arriving today, Sunday, to evaluate the situation. In the meantime, my cabinet is ruined, and the aggravation is mounting. Now we are also worried about the possibility of mold. I would avoid this conglomerate of a do-it-all company, like most large businesses whose volume is more important than quality and customer care.
