S & D Plumbing - Austin, TX Plumber
From my initial phone call to the actual service call--five stars start to finish. It was easy to make an appointment, although be aware they are an in-demand company, so their days fill quickly.I am not surprised they are in demand, either. I received emails and texts confirming my appointment and reminding me of my appointment, as well as a courtesy in transit phone call from the plumber, Bobby.Bobby was friendly and professional ad arrived an hour earlier than expected, but I was glad of it. He put coverings on his boots before coming into my home, which I appreciated. He examined the plumbing in the cabinet below the kitchen sink, and confirmed that the leak I called about was, indeed, caused by a failing garbage disposal, which would need to be replaced. He went over my options, and then went back to his truck to develop an estimate to replace the disposal and fix the leak. I agreed to the work and sighed electronically, and about an hour later, he was done. He also did a complimentary check of my home's water pressure, hot water heater and, I think, clean out.Overall, I feel the pricing was fair, and I will call them again and recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

Definitely incompetent. Had couple estimates and decided to work with them. Called the day before our agreed on date because I never heard from them, they said they didn't have me scheduled. Fortunately they had the spot still open. The day of the appointment they were late. Never bothered to let me know although I had tennants I needed to inform about shutting the water off. The guy eventually arrives, not knowing what the job is. He had to go to the store to buy what he needed. Seriously? Then I showed him two other issues I'm having. The first one I asked if a male to female connector exists because I didn't find it at home Depot. He said it doesn't exist and even told me he would check with the plumbing store as he was going there anyway. He came back confirming it doesn't exist. After he left, I went to the plumbing store myself and asked about it, I was promptly directed to where the part is.....The other issue, I had a pot filler leaking when I try to install it. He suggested we open up the wall and move the plumbing. I kept asking how would that solve the problem and he couldn't answer. He just kept repeating that the wall needs to be opened. He gave me an estimate of $700. I knew it wasn't what was needed. I told the guys at the plumbing store and they laughed at him. Eventually another plumber came and fixed it super easy. No walls needed to be opened. The guy was truly clueless about everything. I wonder if he is even licensed. Would never work with these guys ever again.

Radiant Plumbing & Air Conditioning Plumber
Stay far away! A great rule of thumb when looking for a service business is if they have to advertise, question how good the business is. A service based business should be able to be successful on reputation alone. The only reason I am giving this place two stars instead of one is because we really liked Ian, the guy who surveyed our AC unit and gave us the estimate. He was knowledgeable and prompt. However, the company's policy is to preemptively cancel your appointment if you do not IMMEDIATELY answer the call/text of the dispatcher when the service worker is on their way. After we had booked our appointment to get our AC fixed, the first appointment was canceled because Radiant had an influx of emergency fixes that needed to be addressed. (Whatever)Second appointment, I made the service window for afternoon, telling them I was unavailable for the morning. During my morning appointments, the dispatcher called me, telling me my service worker was on the way. Because I did not answer this call/text, they CANCELLED the second appointment. When I was rightfully upset that they cancelled our appointment for a second time, the dispatcher had the nerve to tell me that the cancellation was all my fault because I did not answer the phone call/text.I've never heard of this kind of policy. For most service-based jobs, usually there is a no show fee if the service worker arrives during the designated window and can't do the work. And they called me outside of my window. What's the point of a window if you're not even going to stick to it?The silver lining of this debacle was that I went ahead and looked at their reviews on Better Business Bureau. LOL. 1.25/5 stars!! That's the lowest BBB rating I have ever seen. They are known to break things, then refuse to pay for it, charge you obscene amounts THOUSANDS more than competitors. My guess is that many of these Google reviews are fake, bolstering their rating to hide their real reputation. At the end of the day, I am so glad we did not use them! We will be using a smaller, local place.I am currently waiting on getting our refund, which I was told would process within two weeks. If this is not received, I will be updating this review.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Austin Plumber
EDIT: *** Mr. Brett Bidwell, the franchise owner, called today and took numerous steps to correct the situation. I'm happy with his attempts to address my concerns and will check with him if I have any future plumbing problems that need assistance.*** We were charged over $322 to have a four inch long piece of waterline soldered into place. The plumber, Alvin Santoy, spent less than 30 minutes working on this since we already had the broken waterline exposed. The plumber was rude to my wife when she tried to ask him a few questions about our leaking bathtub drain.

Thunderbird Plumbing Co. Plumber
Needed to have a 26KW Briggs and Straton home standby generator installed. After getting a few plumbing quotes Jeff with Thunderbird Plumbing came out on top. His team showed up early and went straight to work despite some rainfall. It was a small workforce there to lay a gas line from the home to the generator. These guys were a digging machine and the entire job was completed in 5 hours. They laid down tarps to capture the soil then carefully cut the sod. They hand dug a 45 foot long, two foot deep trench. They laid the poly pipe, labeled for safety then connected cutoff and pressure controls on each end. Then installed the battery and test ran the generator. Purred like a kitten. They watered in and tamped down the loose soil as they filled the trench. Won't be long until your won't even be able to tell they did anything in the back yard. His team comes highly recommended! Thank you Jeff I know where to go when I need some plumbing assistance.

Fast Plumbing LLC Plumber
Outstanding repair work by Steven. My house had a leaking underslab hot water line going to the master bathroom shower. Steven did a thorough job of inspecting the layout of my homes plumbing. He inspected valves and measured pressure at various locations. he performed leak detection to determine the position of the underslab leak. he found the leak to be a long way under the slab. A bypass hot water line was created to make the repair. Steven was very professional in his manner. He answered all my questions regarding how he would proceed with the repair. Many thanks to Fastplumbing and to Steven for a job well done.

David not only successfully replaced my toilet flange, a major accomplishment in my old house, but he walked me thru each step of his creative solutions while ensuring that all code requirements were met. He's not the first tech to work on this toilet, but I am confident that this is the long-term solution I needed. I highly recommend Moore and More Plumbing. I know they will be my go to company for future needs.

Very nice people but they have gotten crazy expensive. They sent out two people (one appeared to be a trainee) on a non-weekend and non-emergency call. A garden hose faucet (bibb) needed replacing and I was afraid that I had messed it up since it would not come off and got a tiny bit twisted around. The people were nice and decided that the only thing needed was to unscrew the old faucet (it took some muscles) and screw the new one on. The cost was just under $250! Seriously, they only had to unscrew the old one and screw on the new one. Took about 15 minutes and they even had me turn the water to the house off and later back on myself. And the faucet itself is now crooked!I contacted the company and the owner feels that the charge is reasonable. Too bad that he has gotten so greedy and charges so much. He must have a yacht payment due.
