I’ve been looking for a quality plumber for some time, and after a lightning strike that took out the hot water recirculating pump, I called S&D Plumbing because of their BBB rating and 41 years of service. They arrived as scheduled, were in contact as to arrival time, and went above and beyond to fix the problem. They located a new pump, made arrangements to pick it up after hours, and got it installed before they called it a day. Same day repair, extra hours, and went out of their way to get the job done without increasing price or pushing to next day because it was extra work to arrange getting the new pump. Thank you for a job very well done!

I called on a Saturday morning with an urgent issue. The after-hours receptionist took down my information and I received a call from the plumber, Colin, within a few minutes. He then arrived within an hour and resolved the issue, clearly explained what else needed to be done, and was very friendly as well.

RADIANT CONDUCTED ILLEGAL, UNPERMITTED WORK! RADIANT DID NOT INFORM US THAT THE WORK REQUIRED PERMITS! RADIANT IS AVOIDING ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE! We would have never agreed to allow Radiant to replace our ductwork if we had known that they were doing it illegally.Radiant, would you like to address why you did not acquire the legally required permits for the job we hired you for?The City of Austin has extremely strict permit laws and Radiant failed to acquire the legally required permits for the job we hired them for. Radiant is avoiding addressing our questions about the permits and is only offering $1000 of the $11,697.15 we are owed.We gave Radiant multiple opportunities over several months to revisit and fix issues with their ductwork install in our house. It was a nightmare to schedule any appointments, and none of the techs seemed to be fully aware of the situation when they arrived. After finding out Radiant’s techs were doing illegal, clearly incorrect work, we stopped working with Radiant and hired another company to finish the job and redo most of Radiant’s work.We spoke with an Austin City Inspector who confirmed that it was/is illegal for Radiant to conduct unpermitted work, and, after reviewing photos of the work, the inspector confirmed Radiant’s work on our house was done incorrectly and would not pass an inspection. We informed Radiant’s Customer Relations Specialist, Nicole, that their work was done without a permit and that it was incorrectly done, and we provided pictures of the incompetent and incomplete work. The HVAC Operations Director Ken Price responded by sending us their revised version of the timeline that ignored most of the issues we reported to them, and offered us a 9% refund as an apology without even acknowledging the unpermitted work.The attached photos show Radiant’s shoddy, illegal work. The attached screenshot from Austin’s public online permit search shows all permits opened for our address over the time we had Radiant work at our house, which includes a permit from the company who fixed Radiant’s work, but not a permit from Radiant. The attached email screenshot shows the HVAC Operations Director’s summary of the issues in a response to us, which does not even acknowledge the lack of permits or their blatantly incorrect work. It also shows him ignoring our entire nightmare experience with Radiant to only admit to a couple of scheduling errors.Don’t hire Radiant, unless you’re looking for illegal work with unacceptable results and no accountability!

Great communication from this company and entire team from Sales to installation. We knew what we were purchasing and communicated with regarding installation times. Everyone was polite and courteous and showed up to the Site on time and worked diligently to get our old system removed and the new one installed. The team took care in navigating our home with the new parts to not damage our home. Only and really minor issue was hand prints were left on recently painted walls near both thermostats. Mr. Rooter perfectly fit everything I needed from a plumber. I needed one who was affordable, one who was skillful, and, of course, one who worked in or was based in Austin. I called several different companies for a toilet repair and angle stop fix, and Capital City Plumbing was by far the most communicative and responsive. They set expectations, and let me know a range of what it could cost depending on what the plumber found. They had a very competitive rate, and the plumber that did the work gave me options that would save me money, which was refreshing. While other places tell you they are open 24/7, they are not.They are a scam. Roto Rooter really is. We had to call on a Sunday and they were there within 1.5 hrs. Professional, friendly, timely, and clean. They tell you what it will cost up front. Great service!

I have used Thunderbird Plumbing twice so far, and both experiences were great. Once for installing a water shutoff valve for a refrigerator, and the other to replace a PRV. They are responsive and gave very reasonable quotes over the phone and provided top quality work, as well as being super friendly and knowledgeable. I will be calling on them again for future needs.
