Pilot light on water heater went out and we couldn’t get it back on. Called mid-morning and they were here by 1. Gunner was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, got in touch with the manuf, replacement part ordered and working in the mean time with instructions on how to keep it working until the part came in. Couldn’t have asked for anything more, under the circumstances.

Roto-Rooter came within a day and managed to clear out the backed up line. Oscar was surprised by the inaccessible clean-out valve but worked around the problem to solve it. Really impressed with promptness and efficiency!

I’ve never had a great experience with a plumber until today.They were a little late from a previous call, but this is understandable since they may do work on the spot after giving an estimate.Once they arrived Oliver and Marco were very professional, quick, and clearly reviewed any potential issues and costs of fixes. Plus, quick turnaround, and a very experienced plumber who solved my plumbing issues called ahead as requested and arrived on time.I liked his “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” attitude. And when addressing my complicated job, instead of complaining, DAVID was happy for the creative challenge and gave me an intelligent work-around that saved money, time, materials and head ache. Their prices are competitive and he offered to bid another project in phase and parts, which gave me options to save money.I’ll definitely use and recommend them in the future!

Robert fixed our issue quickly and professionally. He explained precisely what happened and suggested we check out another component that might be causing us problems - and his hunch was correct.I correctly installed a gas dryer in our home, however, our clothes still weren't drying. We called another company (Hill Country Homework - might be Austin Homework by now) to inspect the issue. The tech (probably the owner? he couldn't seem to make up his mind about whether he's the owner) suggested a fix that made things worse. He left our home with an obvious scent of gas and told us to call 311 if the smell was noticeable the next morning. It was - and the fire department came to check it out.Robert was dispatched later to investigate the issue. He comported in exactly the way you'd expect from a Marine Vet. He also suggested we check if the dryer vent that runs from wash room to the roof was clogged. Sure enough, that was why our clothes weren't drying - it had nothing to do with my installation. I'd recommend Robert at Johnny Rooter to anyone.

Unfairly high pricing for the service. Paid their service call fee and sent them packing. Just needed a simple kitchen drain unclogged and they wanted to charge over $320. I bought a $4 bottle of drain cleaner, problem solved. Don’t know how they stay in business while trying to rip people off. They will never be used at my home again and will highly recommend to others they use a different and more honest and fairly priced plumbing service.

Waseem Afridi and Carlos returned on January 12 to do a permanent repair to the pipe that froze and burst around Christmas. They also replaced the valve in my owner water shut off and the pressure regulator. They did a professional job at all areas and made things right! Thanks Waseem and Carlos!

A word of warning to my neighbors.My experience with Austin Plumbing has been terrible. First......they put in a natural gas heater in a house fitted for propane. I found out after that it was downright dangerous and a code violation. That was in August last year. Second.....this February I called them because hot water stopped again. No response. So I called Cold Is On The Right Plumbing who came over immediately and diagnosed the problem. But they kindly referred me back to the original company since the heater was still under warranty. But.....Austin Plumbing just asked me to contact the manufacturer myself. So I was forced to hire Cold Is On The Right to remedy the situation.....which they did.I am disappointed with Austin Plumbing, not so much for the initial mistake made but for not being upright and forthcoming about it. Without honesty and accountability nothing else matters.
