Best Pipe Repairs in Austin TX
Warning! Never trust a company that charges your credit card $2,600 before ever sending a tech to your house. I did because of a water leak emergency. What a mistake. S&D plumbing uses unqualified techs with no supervision. That would explain why they have so many negative reviews. Never use S&D plumbing. Never!

Initially the repairman examined what needed to be fixed and said it would cost about $170. After he started to do the repair he stated that he would need to solder an additional pipe into the wall underneath the bathroom sink and the service would then cost $460. Well then he realized he needed more parts and had to go to purchase them at a nearby shop. After about two hours he was done. I also asked if he could put in a new drain ( a 5 minute job) and he initially declined because he had a bunch of jobs booked he had to go to. Well then he came back and said yes he could do it for an additional $150. This is why many people are hesitant to call a plumber. Will not be using this company again for the remaining renovations we are planning to do.

SAVED THE DAY!! I had an always-cold shower so I called them up. The phone-receptionist was super cute and nice, always a plus. The guys showed up on time and I talked them through the problem. They were very upfront about the possibility that my 1950's pipes could bust at any time, and I signed a disclaimer in case fixing my problem caused other problems in my old system. I thought it was fair of them to cover their butts, and they were super clear on that point.A bunch of stuff is whack about my plumbing which they educated me on. No other plumber has ever told me most of this stuff. I really appreciated the education and I'm 98% certain they weren't just drumming up business, they were genuinely educating me. Love that. They quoted some big ticket fixes I should consider and then fixed the little thing, which did the trick. I'll absolutely use them when I'm ready to do the big fixes.Pricing-wise, I'm guessing these guys are slightly on the higher end, but I've learned what you get from cheapest-available in Austin Texas in 2021. Work with honourable people, y'all.

RADIANT CONDUCTED ILLEGAL, UNPERMITTED WORK! RADIANT DID NOT INFORM US THAT THE WORK REQUIRED PERMITS! RADIANT IS AVOIDING ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE! We would have never agreed to allow Radiant to replace our ductwork if we had known that they were doing it illegally.Radiant, would you like to address why you did not acquire the legally required permits for the job we hired you for?The City of Austin has extremely strict permit laws and Radiant failed to acquire the legally required permits for the job we hired them for. Radiant is avoiding addressing our questions about the permits and is only offering $1000 of the $11,697.15 we are owed.We gave Radiant multiple opportunities over several months to revisit and fix issues with their ductwork install in our house. It was a nightmare to schedule any appointments, and none of the techs seemed to be fully aware of the situation when they arrived. After finding out Radiant’s techs were doing illegal, clearly incorrect work, we stopped working with Radiant and hired another company to finish the job and redo most of Radiant’s work.We spoke with an Austin City Inspector who confirmed that it was/is illegal for Radiant to conduct unpermitted work, and, after reviewing photos of the work, the inspector confirmed Radiant’s work on our house was done incorrectly and would not pass an inspection. We informed Radiant’s Customer Relations Specialist, Nicole, that their work was done without a permit and that it was incorrectly done, and we provided pictures of the incompetent and incomplete work. The HVAC Operations Director Ken Price responded by sending us their revised version of the timeline that ignored most of the issues we reported to them, and offered us a 9% refund as an apology without even acknowledging the unpermitted work. The attached photos show Radiant’s shoddy, illegal work. The attached screenshot from Austin’s public online permit search shows all permits opened for our address over the time we had Radiant work at our house, which includes a permit from the company who fixed Radiant’s work, but not a permit from Radiant. The attached email screenshot shows the HVAC Operations Director’s summary of the issues in a response to us, which does not even acknowledge the lack of permits or their blatantly incorrect work. It also shows him ignoring our entire nightmare experience with Radiant to only admit to a couple of scheduling errors.Don’t hire Radiant, unless you’re looking for illegal work with unacceptable results and no accountability!

Not a bad company. I can tell they're professional. But their prices is quite high compared with others. Their water heater install quote was 1,000+ more than Lowe's and home depot. Partly because they said the permit fee will be about 400 more than what the other guys looked up. They also charge a 50 dollar fee just to come out and give an estimate whereas the other companies did it for free (fees waived if you go through with their service).Another thing, the water heater picked by this company for the install was significantly more expensive than the best rated, highly warrantied (by lots of people) A.O. Smith one you can buy from Lowes. I don't know why anyone won't just buy one from Lowes and do the install. In the end, I went with Lowe's water heater install. They hired Fairway Plumbing, who did the job quickly and efficiently. Fairway Plumbing guys (not this company, the ones hired by Lowes) put down matts to catch debris, and was in and out in record time.Given the service fee charged by Mr. Rooter for every call, the discrepancies in fees, and the nickle-and-diming for every small thing that needs to be done, I have a hard time recommending them if you need a new water heater.Edit: I see the reply from the owner on my post. That is nice. I wish I knew which changes they made. If they lowered the fees / overestimates, I'd be open to changing my mind about them.

We hired Capital City as part of a refresh on our house before putting it up for sale. We gave Jeff Bogus a list, he bid it, and we approved the work. He then took the liberty of adding on to his scope of work, and got snippy when we told him that wasn't in his bid - that it was on other vendor's work list. We questioned his bill, and endured some of his psuedo-legal bickering. Ultimately we paid his price and moved on - it wasn't worth the trouble. HOWEVER, a month later, we got a $1000 water bill. We asked Jeff to come out and check his work. He refused, saying that since we argued over the original bill, that removes (us from) additional work and warranty. As a recovering attorney, I always find this psuedo-legal babble entertaining. What isn't so entertaining is a plumber that's hard to deal with on the front end, and won't help on the back end when there's a problem. Caveat Emptor.

Really got screwed with this one. Thunderbird was great and communicative until things became a hot mess. My house is from the 50s with terrible plumbing. I received multiple repair bids ranging from 5-15k and went with Thunderbird. I did all the repairs they recommended for my house. Unfortunately, when they fixed the initial problem it brought another problem to light- bad drainage. I left 4 voicemails over the course of 2 weeks with no call back. I found an active leak that I can't get them to fix, they were going to come out one day but no show-no called. I've requested warranty information 4 times but nothing. Dealing with bad plumbing is a pain as-is but, it's worse when the person that's supposed to be fixing it goes dark.

Good morning Fast Plumbing Team,I wanted to thank you for your excellent customer service and professional staff.I was able to secure a service call time and date for Thursday January 8, 2022 based on the Olshan Foundation Companies estimated time of service which was January 6th, 7th and 8th. As the dates started to change, I was in contact with the Fast Plumbing customer service team Melissa and Diana. On Thursday January 8th, the Olshan Crew pierced one of my water lines. I freaked out and reached out to Fast Plumbing and they suggested I wait as additional holes needed to be dug. By the end of the day, the Olshan Crew pierced not one but 6 water lines in my garage. After speaking with the Olshan Project Supervisor, they would return on Friday to continue digging and add the supports. I called Fast Plumbing to have someone come out on Saturday to repair the water lines but Saturday was already booked. However, they did offer to come out if they had a cancelation. Unfortunately, there was no cancelations, Diana was nice enough to stay in contact with me on Saturday as she provided updates. At the end of the day, Diana and I was able to come up with a game plan as I had to work on Sunday. I went to work on Sunday morning and Diana text me to let me know the Service Technicians were on their way. I left my job and met the Service Technicians Steven and Cody.Steven and Cody were very professional and took care of the repairs. I was surprised when Steven asked if I had any other plumbing concerns. I did not expect him to ask as I only considered the initial problems. I provided my additional concerns and Steven and Cody took care of them in a timely fashion. They were very attentive to my plumbing problems as they continued their qualify work repairs. After the repairs were complete and I was satisfied with their work, I was presented with the invoice. After what I experienced with the Olshan Foundation Crew, Steven and Cody’s interaction was a breath of fresh air.I wanted to thank the Fast Plumbing Team for their professional calm communication skills and their outstanding work ethics. What an remarkable Team!Satisfied Customer,Ms. S. Johnson

10/10 recommend. They are very responsive- called me the same day I sent in a request and were at my house the next morning to repair my kitchen faucet. When the technician came in he worse coverings over his shoes, gloves, and a face mask. It made me feel more comfortable about having someone in my house during a pandemic. He addressed my issues with the faucet and told us best next steps if the issue presents itself again. I also think its great that the company is women owned- not something I see very often so when I do I hop on the opportunity to support them. So glad with the positive experience I had.
