Mighty Bee Electric Electrician
We had a very poor overall experience with Mighty Bee and I would not be able to recommend them based on this experience. I want to be fair to Mighty Bee that most of our issues came with what ended up being horrible customer service and follow up and not all work related. I was treated with defensiveness and outright contempt by Martin across multiple emails and phone calls after the service. I'm not overly sensitive, but I can't think of another experience where I was treated as the enemy simply by questioning the finished product which I was not happy with and had multiple code violations. We purchased an electrical panel upgrade for an older home we bought in Arvada that had a 1960s junction box. Things were fine in terms of initial quote and appointment set up. I got back from travel and the panel was upgraded and as he left the house he mentioned to me in passing he could upgrade my kitchen to GFI (which will be required for a house this old). But that was the last I heard from Might Bee. They admitted later that they flat out forgot to follow up not only with me to confirm everything went well but with the city for the required inspection. But that was only because I followed up a few weeks later after my GC informed me that most of what Mighty Bee completed would have to be redone and also that much of it was not to current code. I raised this with Mighty Bee and this is when things went south.

Again to be fair to Might Bee, a panel upgrade seems to be quite an arbitrary service based on what electrician you work with. I would highly recommend you do thorough research on not only what your home will need in total but what exactly is covered in the cost of a panel upgrade. Costs clearly vary based on inclusions. From my side of things and also 2 separate electricians (one who is simply my next door neighbor and had no financial skin in the game), Mighty Bee did the absolute minimum required in a box upgrade. The result was circuits were shared where they would normally (and now have been by another electrician) split so that half of the house didn't run on a double barred circuit. Things like running dryer lines separately are also required by current code, and by simply asking a few probing questions to the customer the electrician would should able to make recommendations about required upgrades, but genuinely upsell their own service. I got none of this from Might Bee. But when I questioned the work completed and cited advice from these other electricians, Martin at Mighty Bee reacted with anger and defensiveness, accusing the electricians of sabotaging his work, and calling them idiots and other accusations about trying to bad mouth him. Once again, one of the electricians was just a neighbor checking out our remodel. I didn't even ask him specifically, he took a look at the new box and brought up 5+ code violations and questions as to why Mighty Bee would have chosen to leave a new panel in that state given we were doing a full remodel and almost certainly would have a lot more electrical changes needed. As it turned out we did have to completely update the homes electrical set up. This meant that the work Mighty Bee completed has now been completely updated and we wasted $3,300 on the panel upgrade and had to deal with a complete jerk in Martin from Might Bee. To add insult to injury we told Mighty Bee we didn't want to have have them come back and requested a refund for the $370 to source a license (free and done online) and inspection, which he did over 3 weeks after the service, and only after I notified them. I requested a refund for that portion of the bill, to which he flatly refused with yet another contentious and rude email.

Once again, I want to say that inherently Mighty Bee's panel upgrade wasn't wrong. But again it was clearly the MINIMUM needed. Combine that with the responses we dealt with from Martin make it impossible for us to recommend Mighty bee.

Heart Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric Electrician
The furnace had a unique issue in that a mouse shorted our circuit control board and set fire to the chip, killing the whole heating system. Our appointment was serviced by Jason Gerlach, who was a stellar technician a very kind and respectful man. We had originally called for a second opinion after a technician from a large company had recommended we replace our furnace entirely, which would have been cripplingly expensive. Jason clearly explained why he disagreed with the former assessment, then offered an alternative repair instead of replacement. He showed up at our house, assessed the damage, left to gather the necessary parts, and had it repaired in under 5 hours for a fraction of the cost of replacing the furnace outright. We are incredibly impressed with the business and feel great about supporting a new, local business that is veteran-owned and obviously cares about their clients. We will undoubtedly be using Heart in the future for anything should we need them.

Interstate Electric and Solar Electrician
I had an electrical emergency at 8pm on a Friday night as I was preparing for an upcoming event the next day at my house.

I reached out to several 24 hr electricians and either spoke to an answering service or had to leave a message. After waiting for a return call for about an hour I called Interstate Electric and Solar who answered on my first call.

I was told Justin would be out within the hour. Sure enough Justin was at my door within the hour and fixed my issue diagnosing that a wire came free in a switch. I also asked him to repair an outlet that had been broken by my kids, he did that in a minute.

When I asked what the damage was he explained it would be $230 for everything which included their $79 after hours charge. He informed me that as the company owner while he has 5 techs he generally takes the after hours calls himself as a service to his customers.

As a side note not only did Justin come out to do the work promptly and efficiently, I received a call from another service after my Saturday event and am still waiting (on Monday) for calls back from the other service providers.

I’d recommend Justin and Interstate to anyone and in fact have passed his information on to three people since Friday night.

Brothers Plumbing, Heating, and Electric - Denver Electrician
Don’t even consider using Brothers for your service needs. I called them for two different items. One was a broken exterior hose bib. They came out and charged me $67 for a trip free to tell me they were going to charge $650+ to replace it. To put that in perspective that’s a $50 part and $600 in labor for a job that’s 1-1.5 hrs of work. Their business model appears to be to have technicians drive around the city and give ridiculous quotes, and only do work for suckers who are willing to pay the overprice fees. My second thing I called them on was an AC maintenance. I have two units, they looked at the first and said I need to fully replace it ($20k quote) and then they didn’t even do the routine maintenance on the other unit. Again charged a $97 for a trip fee and didn’t even do the work I requested. To make matters worse the AC unit they did look at is operating every worse than before I called them. NEVER EVER use these guys. Find a better company!! They are living on a business model of over priced work and hoping they get some people to agree to their high prices since they have a captive audience.

Doctor Fix-It Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric Electrician
I was having a leak in my basement which ended up being a backed up sewer line. I called Doctor Fix-It and they sent someone out the next day. Long story short I ended up getting my entire sewer line replaced. Once I got over the sticker shock the overall experience went well. They replaced the line within two days and I wasn't there to witness the work but for the most part they did a good job of leaving everything the way it was before the work started. I did check my sprinklers afterwards and was originally concerned the line was still cut but it just ended up being a broken head that I easily fixed in 5 minutes. Jon said he would have sent someone out, however if it wasn't working or the line was split but it ended up not being necessary.I felt Jon was upfront and realistic about my options and based on my experience I would recommend doing business with Doctor Fix-It.

Genesis 1:3 Electric Electrician
Genesis 1:3 expanded my electric panel, adding new circuitry and wiring for the installation of the first A/C ever at my previous home. I was so impressed that I called them again recently to look into installing an attic fan and/or a gable fan for our new home. They really took their time scoping out the situation, and also gave me a free inspection of all of the circuitry, outlets, and panel capacity in our new home. They went over their findings in detail with me, including things that are potentially dangerous that somehow passed inspection when we bought the place. I am grateful. They also went over all of my options and the costs involved so I could make informed decisions. They are professional, knowledgeable, courteous, personable, and responsible. I highly recommend Genesis 1:3!

AAA Service Plumbing, Heating & Electric Electrician
AAA Services just replaced our totally trashed water heater. It was a difficult job due to our old pipes but Service Tech Evan Hunter did his best to find a solution that would work and save us some money! He was courteous, detailed in his explanations, and provided honest and accurate estimates of the work to be done that included several different options that varied by price and difficulty. He was terrific! That has been our normal experience with AAA over the past few years: My wife and I like them and trust their estimates and their work, and you should too. We highly recommend AAA Service!

Tipping Hat Plumbing, Heating & Electric Electrician
We had our 50 year old Burnham cast iron boiler and gas water heater replaced with a new 210 kBTU Burnham boiler and 50 gallon Heat-flo indirect-fired water heater. The outstanding service began with two visits by Micheal, the knowledgable and personable representative, who sat with us for hours winnowing down the numerous choices and options. We live at 7,650 feet in elevation, so reliability as well as cost and quality were huge concerns for us.They scheduled the installation around both our needs and the weather...and completed the task in one day.On the day of the installation, an outstanding team of Floyd, Dan, Austin, Juan and Senad did an amazing job. The installation end result demonstrates to me that Tipping Hat has fielded a team of thorough, polite, and knowledgeable professionals.Whether discussing the sale, learning about the system, completing the installation or tying up the details of the project, every member from sales representative, to the installers, to the front office treated my wife and I with respect, candor and the complete benefit of their vast experience. So glad we chose Tipping Hat for this project.

Golden West Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electrical Electrician
Called to get a blade rotation of my sewer to clean out some roots, based on a sewer scope inspection I had already gotten. Was told that I could not get an estimate until somebody came out. Nico showed up and tried to upsell me on a $2k+ cleaning, using scare tactics to tell me that there was a buildup of body fat (whatever that is) and additionally that I should obviously be very concerned since the previous seller of the home got that inspection done. (I had gotten it done myself prior to buying). He then tried to charge me $700+ for a simple sewer cleaning. When I refused, he tried to charge me a dispatch fee. I refused that too, and he left.Golden West's dispatcher apologized and rescheduled me with a new plumber, promising to make things right. That person never showed up.
