I have used Old Hilliard Plumbing recently for a water heater issue, installation of new heater and for a new kitchen faucet and garbage disposal install. Appointments were easy to schedule and I received calls on the day of letting me know the plumbers were on the way. They were experienced, professional and did not try to upsell me on things I did not need. Everyone was very personable as well and explained the steps they were taking to complete the service calls. Old Hilliard Plumbing is the company I will be calling for all my plumbing needs.

Decided to give a new company in the area a chance and agreed to have them complete a new water heater installation back in late June. They are based in Minnesota and had recently started an office in Columbus. They are currently a small operation here in Columbus but they mentioned they hope to expand a bit. I found them through Angies/Home Advisor after posting a job there. I had noticed a slow leak developing in my 12 year old unit and started reaching out to places. They were one of the couple businesses that responded and actually engaged with me as a customer properly through email, which I prefer.

In short, It went very well.

I sent many emails back and forth and their sales guy (John). He was courteous, detailed, and pretty upfront with everything. We spoke on phone once as he walked me through some of their policies and processes. Again, all pretty straightforward. I sent him photos of the area of our current heater, he took note of a few things they’d have to adjust to bring things up to code. I was most worried that there would be hidden fees, taxes, install cost, etc. There was NOT. All costs were quoted upfront as a single, final cost, it included any taxes, etc. Once the cost was settled I even double and triple confirmed the cost (again, paranoid from past experiences) and to be sure the sales guy John had me take more photos as he wanted to make extra sure they didn’t have to do a lot of extra work in my house. Ended up being minimal adjustments to bring the hook up to current standards so no extra fees. Their price was good, warranty good, so we were good to go.

They were fast – we settled on a SUNDAY (yes, sales guy John and I were emailing throughout the weekend and even on a Sunday) and installer was at my house Monday morning, ready to install the heater. Installer (Nathan) arrived on time and gave me details on the process. He walked me through it all slowly, mentioned how he has to start by doing some prep work and that the heater was coming via a delivery service about 15-20 minutes later. He went right to work.

Installation took about an hour and a half or so (including all prep work). At end I asked a lot of questions, as we were chatting he realized he didn’t install a rod that was part of the deal – not only did he immediately rectify and install the rod, he also added an on/off valve coming off the hot water port which we didn’t have. I was very happy as he didn’t have to do it but wanted to prove how good their service was and I was damn impressed.

Of course you should do your due diligence, talk to multiple places, see what they offer. But I 100% recommend these guys. Since the install, I’ve been keeping an eye on the tank. It’s been performing well/as expected. I have noticed something weird happening on the top of the unit near the ports, I plan to reach out to them soon about it.

Called them 11/24 at 2pm based on reviews here and they arrived the following morning at 10am exactly as promised (really exactly at 10am the doorbell rang). Two guys wearing masks with the correct water heater, 40 gal short as requested, showed they were polite and friendly. Tim was the lead techs name. Replaced water heater, cleaned up mess from old one and were done in1 hour. Cost was reasonable and exactly what they quoted with no additional tax or charges added. Probably the greatest home repair experience of my life. Well, tied with the guy who fixed my furnace one Christmas morning :)

All of the 5 star reviews are deserved and, after my experience, I believe they are true.

We’ve used D&L Plumbing a few times now and they have been fantastic. They were able to install a gas line to an outdoor fireplace when we were told by our contractor it couldn’t be done and he basically bailed on us. Not only was D&L able to install the gas line but they really cared about keeping the costs low for us. They also took care of some leaky plumbing that could have caused a lot of damage. We highly recommend them.

Mike helped get me squared away when dealing with my new shower equipment. Very knowledgeable.

Can't comment on the fairness of pricing or the quality of work done because 'truck 1' never showed up to provide me with an estimate. It baffles me that SewerQuest would have such a fancy confirmation system, but then not show up when they tell you they will. I was told 'truck 1' would be arriving between 10-11am, so when no one had showed by 10:58a, I decided to call to check on the ETA. He is running a little late because he had to fix my computer, I was told by the receptionist, to which I thanked her and went back to waiting. 30 minutes went by, still no 'truck 1'. I called back and was told he should be there shortly. Another 15 minutes, no 'truck 1'. Called back again, this time the receptionist informed me she would text the driver. Another 15 minutes, I call back, this time I'm told that the driver had already come and gone. Supposedly knocked on my door and when no one answered left. Oddly enough, the security camera I have on my porch never saw anyone knock, and I was sitting 5 feet away from the door and never heard anything.

It's one thing to show up late to an appointment, but a new kind of low when you lie to potential customers, telling them you did things that never happened. If that's how estimates are handled, there is no way I would ever trust them to repair something.

We have used Cliff Fraley for a number of plumbing issues. He has always been extremely prompt about returning my calls and has been very accommodating with our schedules. We have always found him to be personable, friendly, and very knowledgeable! He also goes into great detail explaining to us what the problem is and how he's gonna fix it. We personally wouldn't even consider having anyone else do any plumbing issues that may come about. For anyone that needs his expertise, we would not hesitate to recommend him for their plumbing needs!

They were courteous, professional and did a great cleanup when the work was completed. I would highly recommend this company.
