This company has been in business a long time in Columbus! I appreciate that the sons and grandsons are still running it and doing the work themselves. An estimate was provided and the work scheduled to accommodate my needs. Blair was prompt and helpful answering my husband's questions. He replaced an old main water shutoff and removed old galvanized pipe. His work passed City inspection right away. We'll have Fritz Bauman Plumbing do work for us again.

Service was great from my initial phone call to scheduling, and to getting the job done. Blair was great... kind, helpful, and very professional. Plumbing work from Baumann is first rate; these guys are skilled tradesmen and I truly appreciate their work!

Loved our experience with Fritz Baumann & Sons! We called them to assist with some kitchen plumbing after having granite countertops and new sink installed. Not all heroes wear capes, y’all. Even though the granite install didn’t go as planned, Fritz Baumann & Sons plumbing was super flexible and accommodating to the updated schedule. Blair got our garbage disposal and faucet installed and all the under sink plumbing re-hooked up and got us back in working order in a short amount of time! Pricing is super fair for the quality work, professionalism, and flexibility this company provides. We will definitely use them again. Highly recommend using them for any of your plumbing needs!!!

I cannot say enough great things about Fritz Bauman & Sons. They were referred to me for a slow leaking water main in my home. They rearranged their day to come to my home that same day to locate the leak and determine the best way to repair. They made the necessary call to the City to have the water shut off before they left and let me know they would be back the following day to complete the repair work. The following day they arrived when they said they would and answered every question I had and showed me what they did to complete the repair. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to Fritz Baumann & Sons. From helping the same day that I contacted them to their professional staff, fair prices and great work, they will be the first and only company I will ever use for plumbing work.

Communication has been superb and installation was completed professionally. They were able to provide a direct replacement for our water heater which was atypical for most residential applications. Most of their competitors wouldn’t even consider installing a direct replacement (even though the replacement heater was available).

My 7 year old water heater stopped heating and it started gushing water! I called Fritz Baumann & Sons and Brett patiently walked me through step by step of what I needed to do to stop it. He then asked for pictures of my current set up to see what he needed to help remedy the problem. I received a call a short while later saying he found all he needed and would be out that afternoon to replace my water heater and update my existing associated plumbing to new code. They were timely, neat, and very communicative. Its almost unheard of to get such quick service these days. I would definitely use this company again and would recommend them to anyone. It was also nice to learn that Fritz Baumann & Sons is family run and a 4th generation company.

After satisfactorily working with Fritz Baumann & Sons to repair some wobbly toilets, I requested an estimate for a new hot water heater. The price was fair for the unit and the labor, and I scheduled them to come out and do the install the following week. Two days later the existing hot water heater died ahead of schedule and Fritz Baumann was able to speed up their timeline and get the new unit in the very same day--unfortunately, the building elevator was out of service and the FB team spent the next two days checking in with me on the phone to know if it had been fixe, and the moment it was, they came over and did the job. I was impressed by their responsiveness and their willingness to go the extra mile. Highly recommend this crew.

I recently worked with Fritz Baumann & Sons to have my hot water tank and my main water line replaced. I can't recommend their company enough! From when Steve came out to provide an estimate for both projects to completion, they were great. During the estimate, Steve walked through everything that would be done and the process. He answered any questions I had and I felt comfortable all the work they would be doing. They also had fair prices, and were more competitive than with another company I had out.

The hot water tank replacement went seamlessly. The workers showed up on time and called before they were heading out. They were friendly. The water line replacement was more challenging, but their workers handled it well and kept me updated throughout the process. Long story short, the city's water line had some damage, so the plumbers completed their work, but were unable to hook up my line to the city's. Then it was left up to the city to repair their line. Steve called the city on my behalf and pressured them to fix their line as I had no water. He provided me with contact information for the city, as well. The city came out quickly to repair their line. I have an old house and the water line was original to the house. After upgrading the line, the water pressure I have is AMAZING. Pleased with all their work!

I had a toilet drain clogged up from an accidental flush of a toilet cleaner head. I tried everything I could but it was beyond my reach with the limited tools I had. I called the office and they were very professional. They fit me in their schedule as soon as they could and were able to fix the issue in less than an hour upon arrival.

A competitor quoted me an outrageous fee for a same day service call on a water heater and sump pump emergency. I googled to find what turns out to be my neighborhood, multi-generational plumber. Fritz Baumann repaired a drain leak and installed a Mustee Big Tub Utility Sink. They were professional at every step of the way and did a great job of providing quality and design in installation of the utility sink. I would definitely recomend them.

This is a small business, but small means to talk directly to the owner when there are questions. Steve spent the time to explain the job, to over things with old plumbing that could go wrong. and how they would charge for the work.
Plumber was Tim—34 years experience, friendly and would answer any questions as the job proceeded. When he got into a little bit of unexpected work, there was no complaints—he just competently worked his way through it.
Job was started as scheduled; I got a call from Baumann at 7:30 am when the City of Columbus was on its way to shut off the water at the curb , and I got a call when their plumber was on his way.
I bid the job with another company, and Baumann was more than competitive.
This company provides great service, and live people answer their phone.

A big box store installer was unable to install a new gas range because he said the gas line connection was rusty. He was afraid to disconnect the line and recommended we hire a plumber. We needed to find a plumber quickly because we were having a party two nights later. Called several companies. Before any of the other companies called me back, Blair Baumann returned my call. I was surprised when he arranged for two plumbers to arrive within the hour. They did, were professional and efficient. This company helped me out of a jam. We will use them again and recommend them to others.

Replaced entire kitchen drain system. The office person was extremely nice and tried to work me in same day but my fault. They did show at appointed time and took time to explain and fix issue at same time. Have me a receipt for every part used and time was accurate.. they are now my go to folks

Blair Baumann talked me through how they could fix our new problem, and he made me feel 10K times better about our horrible interactions with the previous plumbers. Blair and Jake came and fixed the problem in less time than expected and at a less expensive price. I will continue to use Fritz Baumann and Sons for any plumbing work I might need in the future. They are excellent, customer oriented, personable, knowledgeable, clean, and courteous! We had a truly WONDERFUL experience having Fritz Baumann and Sons work at our home.

Overall experience was great, they were able to quickly replace an older water heater one day after we contacted them about the issue. Installers were professional and were forthcoming with information as additional charges where encountered given it was an replacement of an existing unit that required some rework of the gas and water piping. Only negative was the prices charged for some the parts not initially quoted as they seemed high compared to what they would cost at retail. Would definitely use them again for other projects.

The technician was friendly, very knowledgeable, and got an excellent estimate for me prior to starting the job. He ran new pipe for a gas range in a complicated older home with a hard to negotiate crawl space. He was professional and completed the job in a timely fashion. We had two toilets installed, very professional, good value and will definitely would use them again for service.

I wanted to give an update a year later. One of our toilet seats had 2 cracks in it, I called the company, sent an email with pictures of the seat, the owner called to confirm receiving the email and pictures. The owner placed an order for the toilet seat and the toilet seat came in earlier than expected, the company came out replaced the seat and we are back in business. This company is still holding its standard of being professional and backing up their warranty of their products, we will still use them in the future.

I was personally referred to Fritz Baumann & Sons, Inc. and was very pleased with prompt scheduling by Steve. The tech Tim was masked, polite and professional. He diagnosed two issues, made repairs to one and let me know what city dept. to contact re the other. He also installed new under-sink shut offs and a new faucet in the kitchen and replaced a bathroom vanity and sink. All in one day! Will definitely refer and use them again!

Steve Baumann returned my initial Saturday phone call the same day and, after asking the relevant questions, arranged an appointment for first thing Monday morning. Cannot say enough about how pleased I am with the service they provided. They removed a leaky saddle valve that was for our humidifier and put in a 'real' valve. They also did the plumbing for the natural gas pipes for our home generator. Very courteous,, professional. We had our hot water heater replaced. This was scheduled and done quickly. It was great to hear the family story of the four generations that have been and continue to be actively working in the business. We will contact them again for plumbing needs.

I cannot say enough positive things about this company and its workers. A major plumbing repair job in my basement, which I thought was going to take seven days, ended up taking two! The team was professional, communicative, and efficient. I highly recommend.

If you want to do what's best for your property and not just take the cheapest price you hear, then this is the company you want. They replaced and upgraded our water service line. They were thoughtful and deliberate about the repair, and took the time to explain what is best, why, and how it will be done.

We had our water service line break just 2 years after having it repaired. I interviewed (got estimates from) 5 companies for this job. These guys weren't the cheapest, but considering the improvements they gave us, I think they were the absolute best deal! These guys where the only ones who actually measured the depth of my water line and it was too shallow (above the frost line). That's probably the cause of our line breaking twice. I was worried about digging up the yard since we are planning to sell this year, so they used a directional bore and left the yard intact. They excavated the hole at the street with a hydrovac and back filled with fresh soil, perfect for seeding. They scoped the sewer line and found that the bore would be in danger of hitting it, so they moved the service line over to run parallel to the sewer line and to square off with the street connection. This had 2 advantages: using only a single roll of copper (our original line was over 100ft from the street connection), and it removed the risk of hitting the sewer line. They were quick, organized, communicative, and didn't leave a mess anywhere.

In the end we upgraded to a single copper line with no couplers in the ground, installed at the correct depth, squared off to the street, and our yard is in great shape, all at the same price some companies wanted to dig up our whole yard and put in a longer line at too shallow a depth. And they wore masks (covid); not everyone will do that. And it's a family owned company. I couldn't ask for anything more!

They do everything from leaky faucets to new construction. I highly recommend this company.

I called a week ahead to schedule a visit to assess a toilet that was intermittently running and replace the transparent hose under my kitchen sink (from the dishwasher) which was 10 years old and a little moldy inside. Scheduling the visit went well and I anticipated an uneventful visit from the Baumann company. Two workers were sent for some reason, but it did appear as if the young man was in training mode. The hose was repaired, as well as the toilet. The workers did leave to purchase a part for the toilet.
My concerns are that I was billed for the time they were away, I was charged with a service call fee which I knew nothing about, I did not receive the receipt for the items that were purchased although I was specifically billed for them, and he described problems on the service call sheet that I did not say to him on the phone.
When the work was done and I received the bill, I had one of the workers contact the owner. After expressing my concerns, Mr. Baumann told me flatly: You should have asked, when I mentioned the service call fee (his workers were present and we were on speaker phone). He made it clear that he did not care about my concerns. It was my problem...and I still have not received a receipt for items he billed me for.
When I initially called, I told Mr. Baumann I had 2 projects, one at home and one which was business related and that the second would depend on how the first was handle. I guess he forgot that...or didn't care. Needless to say, I won't use him again or refer him to others.

Another company quoted us $10,000 and a weeks worth of work. Fitz Baumann came out the same day and fixed our problem within an hour and was only $305! They were responsive, professional and did amazing work on an old house.

They helped me choose a good water heater at a decent price for my home, came on time to install it, and followed up to make sure I was happy with their work. I would definitely use their services again.

They came promptly, replaced a galvanized drain pipe, hooked up new sink and dishwasher and ran supply lines. Professional, fast, respectful, and it cost nearly half as much as a quote from another plumber. Highly recommended.

Steve Baumann came to my house to give me an estimate for rewiring my gas fireplace. I wanted my fireplace to turn on and off using a remote control because I was uncomfortable using the key and starting the pilot. Steve took the time to teach me how to start my fireplace. In fact, he gave me step by step instructions and stayed until I felt comfortable that I could do it on my own. I'm so thankful to Steve and I'm so thankful to God for putting Steve in my path. Christianity is alive & well.

In one word, EXCELLENT! Baumann and Sons came out to a house we are rehabbing, and replaced an old water heater, repaired a wobbly shower valve connection, pulled and replaced toilets, and removed a shower (just to name a few things!). Service was fantastic! The plumbers took extra care with every detail, right down to cleaning up after they were done! I would highly recommend them for everything from the littlest to the biggest plumbing work!

We had them replace the old lead drain pipes from the upstairs bathroom. Because this is an older home built in the early 1920’s, the bathroom floor is concrete and tile. We wanted the work completed without damaging the floor. Fritz Baumann Plumbing was the one company able to ensure they could complete the job as we wanted. They also installed a new comfort height toilet and wall grab bars. The job was completed in a timely manner.

We hired Fritz Baumann to replace a faucet in our kitchen. We live out of state, so we tried to be sure and hire someone trustworthy. Before okaying the installation, I tried to be make sure I understood the cost of the work and the faucet to make sure it was affordable. I was told there is an $80 service fee and $70 an hour for work, so it would be $150. I asked the cost of the faucet and I was told it would be under $200. So with this information I assumed the cost of the work would be $300-$350. The next day I saw on our bank card statement we had been charged a lot more than this. After working with Fritz Baumann I have learned a few things you probably could benefit from knowing.

1. There is an $80 service fee. It DOES NOT go toward labor.

2. The work is $70 an hour, regardless how much of the hour you use. There is no prorating.

3. They will mark up the faucet and parts, which I know is common practice. However, I didn't expect $70. I was told by Fritz Baumann it costs more because it is higher quality. I spoke with Moen and that is NOT the case. If the faucet has the same model number it is EXACT the same as what you can purchase at a home store.

A positive for this company is I believe they do good work and responded quickly. However, I asked to speak to the owner (or manager?) and he didn't call me back for three days. When we spoke my goal was to let him know how the communication I had when setting up the service could have been improved. As an owner of a business I assumed he'd want to know how to improve service to future customers. Unfortunately, he kept telling me they had told me all the above on the phone, which wasn't the case. That was exactly what I was trying to communicate. He told me how they have thousands of happy customers, but I told him they had lost us. His response was, I don't mind losing customers I don't want to work for. Well, that sealed the deal for me. I wasn't ugly and didn't raise my voice on the call. Just simply wanted to let them know how they could improve their communication to avoid customers being surprised by a large bill. But I guess he's pretty confident they've got a good thing going and don't need customers. Sadly, we will not be using this company in the future.

Based upon my photos was able to quote re-install rebuild of a waste drain following a basement foundation wall reconstruction. Followed through with an excellent solution. (Earlier another plumbing company charged significantly more for the simple act of disconnecting the drain.)

Tom removed our old hot water heater and found leaky pipes. He replaced the pipes and installed the water heater with a pan because our basement is finished. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. I would call Fritz Baumann Plumbing again!

Installed a new gas line to convert existing wood burning fireplace to gas. Very knowledgeable and had zero reservations with the quality of their work. Highly recommend.

I have never experienced such poor customer service from a company. And from the owner no less. If you want a company to stand by its work, don't use Fritz Bauman. We had called the company back after a leak continued. They would not leave without collecting $150 and no work was done. If I could leave no stars, I would. They don't stand by their work and so unprofessional when trying to work things out.

We had what we thought was a leaking hot water tank and realized it was just a leaky pipe. Either way, they were super responsive and were able to come out quickly and repair the issue. They were professional and honest from beginning to end. Thank you!
