Art's Plumbing replumbed our entire house to replace our defective Kitec plumbing. They were reasonably priced, polite, professional, and prompt. They did a great job, arrived when they said they would, and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend!!!

I had a broken water main. Had several quotes. River City was actually a little higher, but I liked the rep they sent out, and what he had to say. They were going to replace my main with a technique they call 'pulling', which meant no trenching. On a Thursday they send two men out. They worked for a couple hours and left. Telling me the work will be delayed. The cable they use to pull the new line had broken, and they had no spare. The next Tuesday a new crew showed up. It was decided that pulling the new cable would not work. It appeared that mid stream, someone had installed a 'T' valve. So they cut my patio, and trenched. They did a great job and replaced my water main with a poly line. These guys were efficiently fast, courteous, and did a great job. They came back a few days later and did the concrete work to replace the concrete that they had to remover to run the line. There was an added cost because of the trenching and patio repair. I was not thrilled about that. However, there is no question that I would use them again if I need a plumber.

Beware of this company unethical methods , they purposely will not have the parts so they charge $120 per hour commute to bring it. The charge time starts from the moment they leave their office . Replacing a hydrant that required 1 1/2 feet deep digging was going to cost over 650.00. So I paid for the digging and let them go .
Employees were courteus and professional , but I will never call this company again , EVER .

They charged me 240$, and left accomplishing nothing! Then hawthorne plumbing came that evening, and they completely fixed the problem.

We noticed our water pressure was extremely low Friday night on a holiday weekend (of course.) Several of my friends in the area recommended Double R for emergency call out. I called first thing this morning. We spoke to Chris who was extremely kind and responsive. He mentioned he would have someone out in a few hours. There was never any question on the price or the services. Chris somewhat diagnosed our issue over the phone and mentioned he would send the right person for the job who had previous experience with the issue. Garret was at our house within the hour. He was able to isolate the issue very quickly and fix it. He also went above and beyond and fixed our safe switch box that was previously bypassed by the previous owners. He recommended a full house water system that would work best for our home we’ve been looking at buying anyway. Double R was super helpful and quick to respond to the emergency on a Saturday morning. Oh, and they charged us $100 less than the original quote. Great company will use again. Thanks Chris and Garret!

I had used Don Weston Plumbing for a number of years, and always had to put up with the benign neglect of usually taking 5-6 calls and as many weeks to hear back from him or have him show up, since that seems to be the way it works in Truckee. Recently, Don led me on for more than 3 months for a job he said he would do, including having me pick up and pay for parts for an aspect of the job. I finally simply asked him to let me know if he was going to actually do the job, after 3+ months of excuses, weeks of rescheduling walk throughs, and more broken promises. He didn’t even have the courtesy or respect to respond, so I got another plumber to do the job. The plumbing supply house would not take back all the parts Don had me buy for the job he bailed on (some cut pipe), and Don refused to refund me for those parts. This lack of professionalism to follow through on completing a job, and not have the simply courtesy to give me a yay or nay on it, but also the ethical shortcomings for not paying for the unreturnable parts - tells you all you need to know about him. Even in a heated conversation with him about him bailing on the job, he would take no responsibility for his behavior. Tradespeople and contractors are in demand in Truckee, which breeds arrogance in some thinking they can do whatever they want and treat people with disrespect. It doesn’t take a lot to be honest and treat people with respect - Don needs some more practice. Lots of other better plumbers out there to use and avoid the headaches.
