Don Weston Plumbing

We contacted Weston Plumbing on the morning of September 5, 2017, which was our first day of School at the Tahoe Truckee School of Music!.
We had a clogged toilet which I had tried to fix myself with no luck.

I had used Don Weston Plumbing for a number of years, and always had to put up with the benign neglect of usually taking 5-6 calls and as many weeks to hear back from him or have him show up, since that seems to be the way it works in Truckee. Recently, Don led me on for more than 3 months for a job he said he would do, including having me pick up and pay for parts for an aspect of the job. I finally simply asked him to let me know if he was going to actually do the job, after 3+ months of excuses, weeks of rescheduling walk throughs, and more broken promises. He didn’t even have the courtesy or respect to respond, so I got another plumber to do the job. The plumbing supply house would not take back all the parts Don had me buy for the job he bailed on (some cut pipe), and Don refused to refund me for those parts. This lack of professionalism to follow through on completing a job, and not have the simply courtesy to give me a yay or nay on it, but also the ethical shortcomings for not paying for the unreturnable parts - tells you all you need to know about him. Even in a heated conversation with him about him bailing on the job, he would take no responsibility for his behavior. Tradespeople and contractors are in demand in Truckee, which breeds arrogance in some thinking they can do whatever they want and treat people with disrespect. It doesn’t take a lot to be honest and treat people with respect - Don needs some more practice. Lots of other better plumbers out there to use and avoid the headaches.

We have had several instance where my family and I have had issues with our complicated plumbing in kind of old house. Pain the putt. We were frustrated for years until we found Don Weston. He is extremely knowledgable, reliable, easy to get ahold of and fair. You will be happy and satisfied if you use his services.

Professional and honest service. I would trust Don for any job in my house. Don't waste your time and money with others. Call Don and get the job done right!

Don is a wonderful person, with wonderful service. He has been to my house multiple times, and I have always been pleased with the service. I have recommended Don to others several times. I feel so lucky to have found Mr. Don Weston. I needed to change out my kitchen faucet. He was the first to respond. He is amazingly communicative and flexible: answers texts, calls, and emails in a timely fashion; has excellent availability/lead time; sent me photos of his work; is personable and warm; is willing to actually talk about his findings and be instructive on how to use my new fixture and things to look out for in the first days after installation (vs some professionals who come and go and don’t want to communicate beyond a sentence on the invoice). His rates are extremely reasonable. I feel confident he will stand by his work and respond to me as needed. He is trustworthy, let himself in and locked up behind himself. Mine was a smaller job and he treated it with the same care and priority as a big one. Really grateful to have found such a consummate professional. I had a major winter problem with snow covering the vents for the water heater and furnace. Don immediately came out, evaluated the problems and got to work with his crew. He worked with the furnace repairman, kept me informed and solved the problem. This is a man that knows the worD SERVICE.

Don has done a great job each time he has worked on our home. His crew was always on time, professional and worked hard to get the job done on time. I would recommend Don Weston Plumbing for any plumbing needs!!
