I had Ira Plumbing come out and fix a drip from the faucet for my tub. They came out and gave a quote of $250, which to me seems high, but it needed to be fixed and I don’t have the time to have multiple companies come out and give me quotes to fix a faucet cartridge. So the person from Ira turns off the water and then proceeds to remove the handle for the faucet to access the cartridge. After doing so he lets me know he has to go into to town get the part. Which to me seemed strange, since I would have assumed they would carry some cartridges in their truck since I had told them the faucet was dripping and that seems to be the most common cause. As I am at home working while he goes back into town to get the part, I hear a very loud noise, which sounded almost like a tea kettle and when a car belt is squealing. Immediately I run downstairs to the water heater and unplug the recirculation pump since it was no longer getting water because the “plumber” had turned the water off to fix the faucet and never thought to check if there was a pump. After unplugging it I continued to wait for him to get back to make sure to voice my concerns that he may have damaged my recirc pump that is only a few months old. He didn’t really say anything except to ask if I unplugged it. To me he didn’t seem to care or even offer to go check it. He continues to fix the faucet and after he is done he asks me if I had plugged it back in and if not, that I could plug it back in since the water was turned back on. Also, he makes the comment that I should tell the plumber or make sure to unplug the pump before the water is turned off. I go plug in the pump and again voice my concerns that his screw up could have caused damage to my pump, which are not cheap. He basically asks me, the non plumber who paid to have a plumber come out to fix something, if it seemed to be working. Then sat there again not asking to check it out and make sure it seemed working properly. I paid to have a “professional”come out and fix an issue I had no time to fix. I should not have been asked or required to do anything involved in replacing the cartridges on my tub faucet. So in having Ira Hansen come out to fix a simple problem, I am now possibly left with a much bigger issue if there was damage to my pump from his incompetency. I even called and voiced my concerns with them to try and give them another chance to make things right, but have not received a call from the owner. I was told the owner would call me back and my message was left with him. I would not use this company and I cannot recommend them based on my experience.

Appreciated Connor calling with an estimated arrival time. He was knowledgeable with the issues that we were having with what we thought was the hot water heater. Turns out it was the recirculation pump that was making a lot of noise. He resolved the issue and we are extremely greatful.

A family friend who is a plumber recommended this company. I called the office thinking that an appointment would be scheduled in several days, but I was pleasantly surprised when Taylor told me that Mike would be at the house within an hour! He arrived less than a half hour later, found the water meter (I had no idea where it was), quickly diagnosed the problem, and went to buy the part that needed to be replaced. I've used Ira Hansen and Sons for over 30 years, and have always had great and prompt service on my personal residence as well as multiple rentals. Recently, I had a problematic faucet leak, that Tracy my plumber assigned to my case, went above and beyond trying to find parts for this old fixture and then when the initial fix didn't work, once again, went out of his way to make it right and took a personal interest in the project and saw it through to the end where we finally had a successful outcome. Throughout the communications were great. I think it's people like Tracy that have made Ira Hansen and Sons so successful over the years. I would highly recommend them for any of your plumbing needs.

Tracy was very nice and professional. He knew what he was doing. The only issue I have is that it seemed rather expensive. It was a simple job of unclogging a toilet. It took about 15 minutes and the charge was $185.00. I think that I will check around next time if it is a routine job like this and probably be able to get it fixed much cheaper. I also got a quote to have two faucets and handles replaced in my bathroom. The quote was $400.00 for the labor not including the material cost. That seems very high for what should be a routine job that should not take more than an hour!

The best help and service I have seen in a long time. From the great service I received from Robin when I called to the tech that same to my home .Tracy he provided me with the info I needed and great jobinstalling it.I can use my new garbage disposal.A JOB WELL DONE.

Tracy did a great job! He efficiently and effectively repaired the interior of our toilets as well as unclogged another one. On top of this, he was very friendly and I very much appreciated how helpful he was.

I called IHS Plumbing for a small non-emergency job (which required special tools) on a Monday morning - thinking they would schedule me for later in the week. Our hot water stopped working early Saturday morning. I called just before 7:30 am and left a message. My call was returned within 5 minutes and they had a technician out to our house within the hour. Our technician was Thayne. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable. He was able to give us the options for getting the problem solved and was able to provide the pros and cons for each of the options. The work was done very quickly and we are very happy with the results.

Great job as always from a great company! I use them all the time for my business and at home. Andy Hume came out to the house and was great. He went over everything he was doing and explained all the cost up front. He came back out to the house a second time for a follow up. I would recommend this business!

We found ourselves in a nasty spot with our sewer line backing up into the house. I called Ira Hansen Plumbing and was greeted by Taylor, who is very helpful and professional. She sent out Chaz to check our sewer drain. He was knowledgeable, courteous and very helpful. He was able to solve the problem very quickly, all while keeping me informed about the steps he was taking and had recommendations for upkeep for the future. Chaz was great, and I can't say enough good things about him. I will be requesting him for future jobs!

Called this morning and talked to Taylor in regards to noise I heard when turning on water. She immediately ask if she could have Tracy out to my house today between 11:00 am and 12:00 and would I be available? I get a call back at 10:30 and it's Tracy saying he's 10 minutes out, would that be ok? Heck Yes!Tracy showed up, tested my water pressure which was OK but did determine that I should think about changing out my 15 year old water heater as she's ending her serviceable life. We asked Greg Baustian from Ira Hansen & Son's Plumbing troubleshoot a problem with our water pressure booster pump and then to correct the problems we were having. Greg is an experienced plumber and developed a good plan to take care of the problems and then performed the work. It was a significant job and the work product was excellent. The pump performs well and while it required extensive digging he restoed everything so that we can't tell where he dug. The repair was on budget and done quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to call Greg and Ira Hansen & Sons for plumbing work.

Thayne installed a tankless water heater, a garbage disposal and fixed a faucet for my son (who was at work) yesterday and did an awesome job. My son and I thank you and also thank Taylor for getting it scheduled so quickly. GREAT WORK!

Excellent fast service from Tracy and Robin. Appointment was scheduled for 12:00-1:00 PM, but Tracy got here early at 11:15 AM. and was done by 11:45 AM.

I stopped by their office because four other plumbing companies in Reno had failed to return our phone calls and I was in the area. Taylor was very helpful and set up an appointment early on the next work day after our holiday weekend. Tracy came by right on time and quickly analyzed the problem and gave me a quote for the work. He was finished is less than an hour and the work was done perfectly. I would strongly recommend Ira Hansen plumbing to anyone.

I needed a natural gas line rerouted. From my inquiry phone call through the job completion, the customer service was outstanding. Jamin, the plumber, was very prompt (even early); he introduced himself with a confident yet professional handshake and a smile, and completed the work efficiently while respecting my home throughout the process. If/when I need plumbing work again, I will definitely use IHS plumbing and will request Jamin. It was refreshing to receive quality work driven by excellent customer service, which seems harder and harder to find anymore. But not with Ira Hansen Plumbing!

My water heater was 15 years old and it was leaking from the bottom of the tank being corroded. I called IHS plumbing. Larissa was very helpful in arranging a time that they could come out. She was optimistic about the problem and that calmed my fears. The next day Thane came out and installed a new water heater the very next day. He answered all of my questions and did a great job installing the new water heater. Then he showed me the new parts he replaced and explained how to adjust the temperature of the water and how to light the pilot, etc.It's clear to me that IHS wants my business. And should I need a plumber in the future, I will be sure to use them.

We had a water main break at my house. I gave a call and the team was able to come out the next morning when it was convenient for my work schedule. Throughout the entire process Andy has been nothing but amazing. Thoroughly explaining what he intends to do and he did it. Andy could literally do everything, from using an excavator, laying cement, wood work and the obvious plumbing. I was thoroughly impressed with his work. Andy worked diligently at my house and exceeded his goal of laying a brand new line and hooking up water back to my house. I have used Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing for 10+ years and have never been disappointed with the work they provide. Larissa that took my phone call was helpful in getting me an appointment right away. Tracy, the technician, was prompt and efficient. Called IHS Plumbing when my water heater went out. Tracy answered the phone and told me to expect Taylor between 11:30 & 12:30. It was already 11:20 when I called. Within 20 minutes Taylor showed up. He showed me what needed to be done to replace my water heater & bring it up to code. His estimate is what I ended up paying once the new tank was installed a few hours later. He showed me how to start the new tank, ran all my hot water taps , and showed me how to drain tank to extend its life. I couldn't be happier with the service I received from both Tracy & Taylor.

Sunday morning - water spewing across my garage from 2 sprung leaks at the top of my 10 yr old water heater. Called Ira and Alexis called me right back: she told me how to turn the water off and if I could get by till Monday a.m. I would not be paying time and a half - I said Great!. Called up Ira Hansen and Sons to get estimates for plumbing projects. The estimates that Aaron provided were extremely reasonable. We scheduled two of the three projects (being summer the third will wait until the fall). Aaron arrived and completed the installation of a new (and larger) pressure tank and re-plumbed the kitchen sink drain quickly and professionally. I look forwards to having him complete the third project, and get his estimates to make the waterfall shower functional.

It started out rocky when I had a repair done on my water heater, which shouldn't have been recommended in the first place by IHS but that person is no longer with them. When the inevitable happened and the water heater needed to be replaced, IHS did the right thing and credited the original repair toward the water heater replacement. Andy Hume was awesome to work with. He explained everything to me and I could tell he knew his craft very well. Within a few hours I had a new water heater installed and the old one hauled away. Andy provided me with tips and recommendations to keep this new water heater running optimally for many years and said to call him if I ever had any questions. Working with IHS and specifically Andy was like a T-Bone steak with all the trimmings, it was a complete service.

I have used this company in the past. Always satisfied with the work done. But this time Greg went beyond and while under my house discovered a duct line that came off and told me what the issue was that contributed to it so I could get the company responsible to come back and fix it. He tried to put it back on for me, but we both knew it wouldn't hold. I will definitely use Ira and Sons Plumbing again.

Can't say enough about my positive experience with this company. Andy and Brandon were early to the appointment, informative of the process of performing diagnostics and the repair that would be needed. They're upfront about the costs and what that includes (you'll know what you're paying for). They're honest and educational (I learned more from them about plumbing than I thought I would ever know) so I can make an informed decision. Found this company from a google search with high ratings. 5 Star Service from the first call with Larissa who set up the appointment when Alex & Andy showed up on time and did a through diagnosis of the plumbing where there appeared to be a leak. After the final diagnosis of running all the water and drains there was not a plumbing related leak. This relieved my concerns of a leak. Thank you for the 5 star experience Ira Hansen & Sons for all my plumbing needs!

Jay came out to check what was wrong with our dishwasher; fixed it in about 30 seconds and did not charge me. I have used Ira Hansen at my home, rental and office for many years and have always been totally satisfied with their scheduling, service and cost. I won't use anyone else.

We used Hansen and Sons to run gas to the new range that we are having put in. Michael came out to quote and got back to me the very next day. I then went ahead and scheduled the work. Michael was very professional and he got the work done. The price was just what he said it would be. We were really happy with the work.

Great service from Baustian and Ira Hansen & Sons! I had two other companies try and diagnose/fix the problem. One plumbing company said “there’s no problem” despite a puddle of water in the yard. The water company said it’s a landscaping/sprinkler issue. The landscaper tried a bandaid solution that didn’t work then admitted they didn’t know how to fix it. I resorted to turning off the sprinkler system and watering with a hose. This dragged for months between lengthy scheduling and missed appointments from other companies.Ira Hansen &Sons scheduled me within two days. Baustian figured out the problem and fixed it in a few hours. I now have go-to reliable plumbing help. Finally!!!

I woke up this morning to cold water. Tried to re-light my water heater's pilot light to no avail. I called Ira Hansen and Son's and was pleasantly greeted and helped right away by Taylor who said she'd get someone out within an hour. That someone was Thayne who proved to be courteous, knowledgeable and throughly capable! Unfortunately my 16 year old water heater was done for, but Thayne expediently replaced it single-handedly in less than three hours! And the price was very reasonable! I'm very pleased! The customer service (Robin) was friendly & I am happy with the work that Tracy did installing the heater...I strongly recommend this company.

Called in the morning and had my leaky hot water heater replaced by 2pm! Andy Hume called and said he could meet me earlier than planned which was great! AMAZING experience and the best customer service! Tracy & Taylor made a terrible situation turn into a quick repair and an educational one too! Our outdoor irrigation pipe burst and Tracy was able to come over within hours to repair and teach us how to take better care of our outdoor water system and he even gave us some tips to keep our new water heater in great condition. I called as we found a leak problem that I couldn't fix after pulling off a wall during a remodel. We had to get it taken care of immediately, as we had other contractors coming the following day. We called and Robin was able to get someone out the same day ! Exceptional service! The receptionist had Andy out to my home within an hour and a half -- Andy was incredibly professional and polite. He explained everything that had happened to my toilet's seal in terms I could understand and his incredibly reasonable quote was exactly what I ended up paying. Service was swift and accurate and he gets extra bonus points for being kind to my son and allowing him to watch and be Luigi to his Mario. Will definitely call again when my next plumbing issue arises.

Called to receive a quote on a Monday and was immediately transferred to Jerry. He was honest and transparent about the cost. We needed a kitchen sink and 4 bathroom sinks installed. I explained we weren't comfortable watching a youtube video to do the installation ourselves. 😊 I was able to schedule an appointment Friday.Jerry called me when he was on his way. When he arrived he was very polite and friendly. He wore a uniform shirt and was in a marked vehicle. (And a mask due to COVID.) I do pay attention to this because you never know whose going to show up at your door.I showed him what we needed done and he explained everything that he was going to do. Very happy with my experience with Ira Hansen & Sons. When I had called, Robin answer and she was very helpful, to see if they worked on mobile homes, she said yes. Really happy with Shawn from Ira Hansen and Sons. Professional, friendly, efficient, communicated everything clearly, and price seemed fair to me (it was about what I expected, but this was the first time I hired a plumber, so not much to compare it to). It was an overall smooth and good experience hiring a plumber for the first time.

I had a pipe burst in a cramped crawlspace and Ira Hansen and Sons was able to schedule me quickly. Vetter and his tech were able to find the leak and place a temporary cast while a full repair could be scheduled. They cut through a 4 concrete slab, repaired the pipes, installed a pressure regulator, and re-filled the concrete! They were prompt, professional, and extremely hard workers. Would highly recommend them for any plumbing repairs!

I contracted them to do my sewer line. The day before they were to come out to replace it, I get told that I need to call no dig at 611. In the middle of my work day I call no dig to be told that it is the company that is doing the digging that needs to make the call and that legally they need to come out and mark the spots at least two days before any work is to be done. I went with them because of their great reviews but could not believe their lack of knowledge on the sewer replacement and the no dig conditions that need to be met prior. I immediately canceled as I want a company that knows what they are doing and knows the legal restrictions.

He was able to find the parts that were needed. Friendly and patient.

Given a quote and told it would take all day. He finished in 4 hours. Said we'd get a detailed receipt the next day with a break down of parts, labor etc.Got the receipt with just a flat rate charge on it of the total price. When I called to inquire further, I was told that's how they always do it. I'm not disappointed in the work. Just feel like I was way over charged. Will get 3 bids from now on. Didn't this time as we've used them in the past and we're happy with the work. Felt comfortable using them with no other bids. Not any more.

Called yesterday for an annual inspection, to fix a toilet, and a dripping faucet. Having been a charter member of Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing since they started their annual inspection service they scheduled Tracy to arrive between 8:00 & 9:00 AM the next morning. Tracy showed up at 8:00 AM, performed the inspection, fixed the running toilet with an adjustment, tested the leaking faucet finding it not leaking anymore, and was done & gone in 45 min. I am an extremely happy camper with their service, and would recommend the outfit to family and friends alike without reservation.Called Friday, 3/3/17 to have Tracy install two new toilets replacing ones that had been installed by the builder 15 years ago. Tracy came out today, 3/6/17 as scheduled; removed the old toilets, and installed the new ones. Many thanks for a job well done.Called Friday 7/13/2018, 8:00AM for emergency service regarding a leaking water heater. Initially didn't have any technicians available, but Tracy fit me in, and arrived within an hour. I needed a replacement, so he was able to go and resolve his other appointment's problem, pick up a new water heater, return, and remove my old one, installed the new one, and was gone by 12:30PM. This meant I would have hot water in plenty of time for my out of town guests who were arriving by 3:30PM that day. I don't know why it invariably happens that things break down at the most inopportune times. But Tracy came to my rescue with flying colors, and as usual did an excellent job. I really should mention that it was Robin who facilitated locating Tracy, and enabling him to fit me in to his schedule.

Could not be any happier then I am right now! Our home warranty company sent out 2 separate companies to repair our hot water heater with no success and way too much drama...and we were without hot water for over a week. I grew tired of the shenanigans and called Ira Hansen, who I have used MANY times and are my personal choice. I was so excited when Robin said that they were able to come out THAT DAY and replace the entire unit. Tracy was early, professional and so helpful with answering questions, helping us decide which unit to choose and getting things working quickly. I requested a few areas to be tightened properly or “snugged up” rather, and a shower head tightened as well, all was rapidly remedied ! I specifically asked for him because I knew the work would be done well with no BS on pricing, etc. I believe Taylor set up the appointment for me (in a professional and timely manner) and Larissa just tried to help me with my review.This is the third time I have used IHS Plumbing and I am very pleased. Tracy has been to our house twice and has always been very professional and does the work extremely well. This morning, Taylor promptly answered the phone and scheduled an appointment for the same day. No waiting, no hassles. And to top it off, Tracy was well ahead of schedule and was able to arrive two hours ahead of his scheduled time.

Had a residential issue that was concerning and through recommendation from family that has used Ira's services for the last 20+ years I called and scheduled and appointment for same day. Plumber Chaz ADDED to all the good things said about Ira's services. he was very communicative, very responsive, very customer centric, and actually cared not just about the issue but the post conditions. He suggested things to look out for prior to the same issue possibly happening again, and what follow ups he would recommend in the next few months. I was sold on Ira's already due to their reputation, but Chaz's EXTRA care will keep me coming back for ALL future work and I will recommend Ira's for all. As an executive a large global company the type of enthusiasm and care Chaz showed and gave for us is the type of quality I would want to keep on my team for as long as possible.

Sean Mcandrews did a whole house repipe for us earlier. We asked him to come back and set a new tub for us. He did a great job working with the old plumbing and getting the new tub in. He went above that by exchanging the trim kit that he had left us with during the repipe for one that matched the tub of the tub we picked out. We decided to remove the old cast iron tub ourselves ahead of him setting the tub and he gave us great advice on how to do that which saved us significant effort.We will continue using Ira Hansen and Sons for our plumbing needs. I had a bad experience with these guys. I called them because my water heater was leaking. Jason came out and said the valve was bad but didn't have the part on his truck. He went to Home Depot and purchased the part, returned and installed it. Next day water heater is still leaking. I called again and asked for a different service tech. I was told that if they sent another tech I would be charged another service charge. To avoid the additional $100 I agreed to let Jason return. This time he decided it was a different thing and fixed it. But I got billed for another service call. NOT HAPPY. I've called and talked to them about it but they insist that I owe them for two service calls for the same thing.

We had a leak that we could not identify. Our technician was Very thorough, identified the problem was friendly and walked me through all of my options

First time going with them for the company I work for. Was told it would be 280 dollars to come fix it. Ended up being 600 dollars to fix a small part and for them to go up and shut off the water supply which we took the time to get them up there. The next day still had a leak. Was told it was a whole different problem from what they fixed.

I called Hansen Plumbing this morning and was able to get service in a couple hours. (Unlike another plumbing company who said it would be a week out.) Sean and Chaz came out to my house to diagnose a sewer smell and gurgling noise in my bathroom.They were professional and friendly. They worked together as a team to brainstorm the problem and were able to come up with a solution quickly. I thought I needed the main line cleaned out but it was a P joint problem in the shower we rarely use. They know what they are doing and were honest. They crawled under the house and even checked out the pipes underneath to make sure there were no leaks. Thank you, thank you!! We will certainly call again!

I had an issue with my shower not draining and so I called to set up ab appointment, they were close when I called, but I got a very timely call back and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. Rodriguez was the technician that came to help and he did such a fast and thorough job. He was very informative and even gave me some advice on how to prevent the clog from happening too often going forward. While installing a new sink we found out we needed two new water lines. Plus there was a small leak. I used the online appointment request late Monday night and was called at opening on Tuesday morning. They were able to set up an appointment for that Thursday when it worked for me. The tech was perfectly on time and the office ladies were very attentive. The tech was knowledgeable and extremely fast. Thank you for being able to help with my tight schedule.

The gentleman was polite and did a good job, but the charges were outrageous. $275.00 for 20 minute job Literally putting in new faucet ( yes I timed it). You would think this was Beverly Hills. Holy Crap! It's Reno.

I am very happy with the service that Thayne of Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing provided. Because my water heater was 22 years old I decided to replace it before it broke. I had to wait days for estimates from other plumbing companies because it wasn't an emergency. Thayne gave me an estimate over the phone (which was $1000 less than the other estimate I waited for) Wednesday morning and was out that afternoon to do a very clean and timely install. Thank you!

We had to have a leaky faucet & its pipeworks replaced under the sink. We got a prompt appt. & Tracy was ahead of time (tho that could've been a problem if we weren't home already). Quick, friendly & efficient service -- from the call with Taylor to the service by Tracy -- tho rather costly.

One of their plumbers, Shae Vetter, helped me out with a couple toilet installations. He was polite and cheerful, got the work done efficiently and without any issues, and even helped out when I asked with a few tips for drain maintenance and recommendations for additional upgrades when I asked. Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing have been a family go to for years. They are responsive, professional, and fast. LaRue went out of her way to replace a water heater for me even though their shop was very busy. They are upfront with their pricing, and you get exactly what you've paid for done right.

Had a problem with one of my sprinkler valves, changed diaphragm and solenoid myself, but that did not solve the problem. Called Ira Hansen and Sons after hours, left message, they called back and had Aaron come out the next day. He was courteous, quick and efficient. I suggested that I buy the parts and he would do the labor and install, he had it fixed within an hour, would have taken me 4 times that long. Great company. They did outdoor natural gas work for us, digging deep in the ground and going under the house. Best price we found and great, quality work. One of the employees, Sean ......, did the job with a little help from laborers for the digging. He was personable and great to work with. If the rest of the company is like Sean, I couldn't imagine doing work with any other plumber than with this company. We called Ira Hansen & Sons to fix a leaking exterior faucet. Ralph came to our home. He was there when he said he would be and was very nice, personable and friendly. He did a Great Job. This is the third time I've used Ira Hansen plumbing, and just like the first two times, the work and professionalism was top notch. LaRue did a great, efficient, and cost effective job fixing a leak that was causing major damage in one of my bathroom ceilings. She was on time, very knowledgeable, and did the work as quickly as possible.

I'm a senior and I'm disappointed with the lack of response and customer service. The diagnosis fixed the problem and they were timely. But a rip off in costs. Paid $1300. Found the parts at Home Depot for less than $500. So the premium they charge on parts or excessive labor costs for a 2 hour job are at fault. Called several times and left messages with foreman designated as my contact. It's been a week and no response of any kind. Also no itemized invoice. Be careful and get a second or third bid. They have lost my faith and business.

About two years ago I had IHS replace all of my water pipes with Pex pipe. I have not had any pipes freezing and breaking since then. I am very pleased with their prompt and courteous service. Yesterday I called again because I had a break in my sprinkler system (PVC pipe) and also a slow leak in my kitchen. Joe arrived right on time and was very courteous. He checked under the sink and immediately saw the leaky connector. After he repaired that he noticed that the sink had a leaky gasket. He replaced that very quickly. Then he went outside and worked on the broken PVC pipe. He charged me what he had quoted me when I authorized the repairs. About an hour after he left a friend turned on the water to the sprinkler line and there was another leak. I called and Joe immediately returned and replaced the split PVC pipe. I am very pleased with IHS service and promptness. I will use this company again for my plumbing problems.

I called IHS Plumbing because my tankless water heater was leaking. They scheduled a service call for the next day. The service call was between 8-9 in the morning. At 8:27, I got a call from the service tech saying they would be a little late. As I am in construction, I realize this is commonplace especially now. The consideration for the customer did not stop there. When the service tech, Sean McAndrew showed up with his apprentice, they were courteous and very professional. They asked what the problem was and when to work. Both were efficient and had the problem taken care of in a few hours. I talked to Sean about some more work and was pleasantly surprised with the repair cost. I plan on having this company back to do more work and have used another plumbing company before and did NOT call them back.

When the tank on your toilet cracks its a sad day. My wife was even sadder that I brought in the camping toilet for her to use while I scouted for estimates. I called 5 local plumbers who all stated they needed to come buy to give an estimate. They refused to even give me a ballpark figure. Is this going to cost me $300 or $1000, I had no idea. We had Ira and Sons Plumbing Service relocate our water heater and change out all of the galvanized piping to copper under our house in Southwest Reno.Ralph was our lead plumber and was very thorough explaining what needed to be done in order to increase the water pressure and volume to our kitchen and 2 bathrooms.He wrote us up a proposal that was fair and we scheduled the work.When he and his assistant arrived to start work, they were on time and had everything they needed to complete the work on their truck. Ralph went right to work and impressed us with his work ethic. He worked the next couple of days in 100+ weather in some very difficult places under the house in the crawl space.I would highly recommend Ira and Sons if all their employees are as good as Ralph.Thanks for a great job.

Larrisa and Tracy are absolutely wonderful! Larrisa took my call and was very persistent with keeping in touch with me throughout the cellphone connection issues that we were experiencing. Tracy came out to my place to look at a leaking pipe in my crawl space. He found the water but couldn't get to the actual leak in the pipe that ran up the wall. He referred me to a restoration company that came out and found the leak. Tracy then came back out to my place to fix the leak as well as another leaky pipe that we found after my bathroom vanity was removed. Tracy is a godsend, a great guy with excellent work ethic and a beautiful heart. And to top it off, the price was quite reasonable as well. If I ever need a plumber again I will definitely be calling Tracy!!

Connor was excellent. He arrived on time and was friendly and professional. He was able to diagnose and repair the leak under my bathroom sink within 5 minutes! He took the time to explain the issue and how he fixed it in case the problem ever comes up again. All at no charge since the repair was done within minutes. Our back porch project included moving a gas line for a new fire pit. Tracy did our work for us and helped us work thru unusual problems discovered during the demolition. A few days ago we noticed our shower had a slow leak through the shower head that was slowly getting worse. I knew better than to try to fix it myself so I called Ira Hansen and Sons. They have done work for us before. They sent Mr. Baustain out. He had the parts on hand and knew exactly what to do where I might have totally messed up and had us staying in a motel. Mr. Baustain had us fixed in about 30 minutes. No more leaky shower!! Ira Hansen and Sons is the first choice for us.

I did not know how to put together my sprinkler system. Tracy went through every step with me and did a great job . I think he should moonlight as a schoolteacher. I am 82 years old and don't see very well, but he walked me through everything. Also, my toilet had a big messy leak. I had to turn off the water, but he replaced all of the old fixtures and put new ones in. He is an excellent worker and be sure to keep him.

We had an emergency backup of over 20 years in our kitchen sink line. Upon calling Taylor answered the phone and was pleasant and very accommodating to our needs and said she would have someone right over. Tracy arrives soon after the call was place and we were surprised as we did not expect it to be that quick but we were thrilled. He was in and out in a flash after snaking the line and unclogging years of geese and muck. He explains how to manage the line with running hot water down is daily for a couple of weeks and said not to put anything down our drain disposal. We were very pleased with the service we were shown and the timely manner the work was done in. We would definitely refer family and friends to use this business and we will be a return customer in the future if need be. Thank you Ira HAnsen plumbing for your kind service we appreciate you.

I unfortunately had a leak in the middle of the night that flooded my house. I called Ira and Sons and Sean showed up right away. He was extremely helpful and professional, even going out of his way to notice a couple extra things wrong that could have caused the leak that was aside from the actual issue without trying to sell me on anything. He showed me how I could test it myself and made sure the condition of my home was safe before leaving. It happened on a weekend so obviously I was paying extra for the on call aspect of it, and he was being honest in trying to help on the cost savings as much as he could. I will definitely be using this company again just because Sean was so helpful and transparent while I was trying to deal with a crisis.

Taylor was very helpful in scheduling service for the 3 Faucets we needed replaced in our home. We had low flow ones that couldn't even rinse the toothpaste out of our toothbrushes! Had an issue with a cracked pipe so I called Ira Hansen & Sons & Plumbing. I spoke with Taylor and she said Aaron would be over on Saturday to fix the pipe. My house is 70 years old. Tracy warned me, before hand, of possible hazards replaceing a couple of parts. It would cost a lot more if the old galvinize pipes fractured. Earlier this week our water heater went out. I called Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing, and they sent out Greg Baustain early the next day. Greg was on-time, professional and got the water heater back up and working immediately. I called IHS plumbing to fix an outdoor water faucet. Had a leaky shower for years that I finally wanted to deal with. Requested an appointment online and scheduled me in the timeframe I was looking for even though it's the holidays. Andy came out and took care of replacing the handle cartridge even tough it took a bit of work to get the old one out. Money well spent! Bryon recently repaired a leak in our barn that was buried below the frostline. A good bit of digging was required and done well, the cost for repair was quite fair and the results pleasing. I will be asking for Bryon to return for additional repairs at the barn, guest, and main houses as needed from now on.Bryon Yeoman came out again to do some finishing work on a hot water heater, sink and toilet in the barn. Once again his work was quick and excellent, leaving enough time to install an Ikea sink in the guest house before his departure. I was having issues with my water heater and wasn't expecting to get same day service when I called to schedule for a service appointment. That wasn't the case, I was able to make a late in the day appointment and then got a call from the tech letting me know he was headed over sooner. Shawn Biondo arrived and was exceptional. He has so much knowledge about plumbing and fixed my water heater in no time. I didn't feel up charged and liked that they charged me by the job not by the hour. He took the time to make sure everything worked and talked with me about water heater replacement in the future since my water heater was already 11 years old.

Called the office at 8:30 am Friday morning before the long Forth of July weekend. Our Hot Water Heater had been limping along and finally said no more at basically the worst opportunity. The office told me they would have a technician out within an hour to check the condition and determine repair/replacement. Their tech was at the house within 45 minutes and determined the 25 year old tank had given all she could. He gave us an estimate for replacement and repair to the exhausting system. He replaced the system within 3hours that included the trip to back to the shop for all the needed supplies and the new tank. Brian did a wonderful job and our family has once again been blessed with hot water!!!

We've used Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing for several jobs over the last few months, including installation of a whole-house water filtration system, and have very pleased with their work. The person who did the first job (Thayne) was so good that we arranged for him to all the subsequent jobs. Thayne does excellent work and is very professional while also being friendly and helpful. Quickly available for an appointment. My hot water heater began leaking and it sat on wood, so I was worried about damaging the wood with water. They came out and installed a new one, the same day. My hot water heater was the original one so I knew that it's time was up. I was very happy it was able to be done quickly. My mother is the one that was at my house at the time, due to me having to work. I would have given them 5 stars, but I have no idea if I was price gauged or not since I didn't receive a breakdown of what I was charged for. I did receive a receipt for the entire payment. - Had to get service again for a spigot in my backyard. Lionel came out again (same as hot water heater) Quickly replaced it - good price. We had a couple of faucets leaking in our house and I had another plumber take a look at it without any tools and said they couldn't fix it. I called Ira Hansen and Sons and they were able to give me an appointment right away. LaRue was the plumber who came in promptly and was immediately able to diagnose it, then went to the store to get the replacement parts and fixed the issue in a very short time. For any future plumbing issue, I would definitely call Ira Hansen and Sons and ask for LaRue.

TMWA said they couldn't help me for 3-5 days, so I called Hansen & Sons and Ralph came out the next day. He was very thorough and we did find the leak in my drip system. I received a phone call from the assigned tech Vetter who called to let me know he was headed our way on the day and time of our appointment. He was engertic and joviel as we recapped what he was heading over to check out since I could not be onsite to meet him. Vetter arrived on time and assessed the situation quickly. He was already on his way out to get a new faucet when he rached out to me to update me on what he discovered. Upon the completion of installing the new faucet a short time later he again called me since I was off site to update me on the success of the sink properly functioning again. I'm VERY pleased with the service received and with the energy and kind professionalism that you don't see very often.

Awesome, rapid service. A leak on Sunday in my service line prior to the house shtoff required service shutdown at the meter. I contacted this company blind at 8:45am on Monday and spoke to Taylor. Sean S came here last week to check the noise coming from our pipes. He knows his work and came back today to fix and replace our Pressure valve and it fixed the loud scary noise. We had a water hammer issue that recently started on a new build home. The contractor/original plumber were not working due to the Covid-19. Having heard many recommendations for Ira Hansen before, and then reading there reviews online I gave them a call. Andy Hume came out the next day as scheduled and had the problem diagnosed within 5 minutes; and the part replaced within another 30 minutes. Will use Ira Hansen for all my future plumbing requirements and indeed just booked for Ira Hansen to do my annual backflow test.

Outstanding service! Thayne from IHS was out at my house within 24 hours of calling (for an inactive leak) and fixed the entire problem within 2 hours. I originally had Paul’s come out but it took them avout 4 working days just to email me the estimate and I paid only half of their cost by going with IHS.

So far my experience with your company has been five star. Cao came to my home and checked my air conditioner and furnace blower because of a problem. When my water heater broke i spoke to Taylor in the office and she was able to get me setup quickly with a plumber to come out and get my water tank replaced quickly.Thayne showed up and was very friendly he walked me through all the steps after the install of how the system worked and answered all my questions on the safety set in place and explained how my warranties worked so i wasnt feeling like i was in the dark.

Greg Baustain was professional and got the job done in a timely manner, office staff was friendly set up my quote and work quickly. He made a point to try to explain to me what he was doing when i didnt understand he broke it down more to make sure i was in the loop. I had some issues with my toilet not flushing properly and I was unable to get the clog out by myself which made me really frustrated. I called IHS plumbing and Taylor had Tracy dispatched to my house in just about 1 hour. Excellent service. Taylor set the appointment. Tracy followed up and said he could do the job earlier than the appointment time. He went the extra mile by doing some electrical troubleshooting, which was verified by an electrician. I'm very satisfied with the work and the level of professionalism. He clearly communicated when he was on his way and he went above and beyond to make sure he not only took care of the specific issue I called about but also noticed our bathroom sink wasn’t draining well so he quickly fixed that as well. Ralph did an excellent job of estimating and completing the replacement of our water heater. He not only stated what needed to be done, but explained why. As he worked, he explained what was being done and showed us the failed parts. He also gave us advice on how to extend the life of the water heater and the recirculation pump.The previous water heater was only 8 years old. It was the lowest bid. It was an inferior water heater and installed incorrectly.

Can't say enough about this company! This is the second time I have used them and Thayne came out this time. What a nice guy and had one leaky toilet that needed help but he checked all three to make sure they were OK. Also had a little clog in one of my Master bedroom's sink and he addressed that and took care of it for me in a couple minutes. Thanks Thayne and the IHS company. You all are great!

My wife and I were referred to Ira Hansen Plumping by our General Contractor he said they were fair in pricing, reliable and always did good work. I called to have them come out, they were prompt and thorough. Tracy and Mike came did the work they did a bang up job, were on time and thorough, they went through everything completed with my wife. Taylor answered my call this afternoon and sent Tracy the technician out right away, I had a shot hot water heater and they had me up and going with a new unit within hours!!! I highly recommend Ira Hansen!!! Taylor was on top of her game!! Tracy is an excellent service Tech.

Very expensive job, to be honest I feel RIPPED OFF. I had 4 faucet angle stops replaced, the total cost was $1000! All in all, the technician spent 2 hours on the job. Most of that was going to pick up parts, the actual work took about 30 minutes (I can see entry/exit on our door lock). I was told parts were $200 total, leaving $800 to cover 2 hours of time. That means $400/hr for the job. Shame on me for not getting this quoted by others. The invoice provided is a joke, no itemized list of parts, hours etc. I do not recommend Ira Hansen, nor will I ever use them in the future.

I am impressed and happy with your company from my first phone call that was answered by Robin. She is very professional and accomodating. She set up an estimate appointment for me with Mike. When Mike arrived he listened to my problem about a water knock and was quickly able to come up with a solution. He provided me with a fair estimant and preformed the job to my satisfaction. He explained what he needed to do, left to get parts needed and came back. Took him about 20 minutes and he was done. My icemaker is working perfectly and I am very appreciative of his service. Definitely will use IRA Hansen and Sons going forward with plumbing needs.

We recently bought a house and found several plumbing issues that needed to be taken care of including replacing all of our sewer lines which was an unpleasant surprise we didn't anticipate. Ira Hansen and Sons gave us by far the most reasonable quote we received and our plumber Andy did a great job. This is the second time we have gone through them for plumbing jobs and would recommend them to anyone.

I had 2 seperate plumbing problems last week and Ira Hansen and Sons came right out and got me all fixed up! Mike and Thayne are expectional at what they do! So glad I called!

Called to have main line cleared of tree roots. Plumber had to get on my roof to run a small snake. Did not run snake all of the way to city sewer line. Did not fully clear the clog, but some of the water did drain from the line. Was charged $200 for incomplete job. The line re-clogged 30 days later. Did not guarantee work (but did not inform us of this until later, when we complained). Did not provide written estimate of service (as promised). Did not return to run camera down line to see clog (as promised). Had to fight to get a promise of getting money refunded so that I can call another plumber (been a week, and still waiting for refund, even though I only live 3 miles from their office!). I have been dealing with this for over 30 days now, and I still don't have a working main sewer line! Can't wash clothes or use toilets! I very highly DO NOT RECOMMEND Hansen plumbing!! They DO NOT back up their work or their word!!

Still 5 stars. I called again last week to have our water heater checked. Taylor helped me set up an appointment with Andy to check it out. Andy called before he arrived to make sure we were ready. He arrived on time and replaced the anode in the water heater. The work was done quickly and efficiently. Taylor and Andy are two more of the reasons why we always call Ira Hansen and Sons. The have never disappointed.Last week I called to see about having a shower head replaced. I spoke with Larissa who helped me schedule an appointment for Monday 8/20/18.Tracy arrived on time and did a very professional job of installing my fancy sliding shower head. The work was performed quickly and neatly.In short, I received the prompt, courteous and professional service that I have come to expect from Ira Hansen and Sons.

Called Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing on Monday for a broken kitchen faucet and a defective bathroom shower. Tracy came out within the hour and provided an estimate and told us what we needed. Tracy then went above and beyond by going to several plumbing stores and provided me with the part numbers that we needed to get.Yesterday Tracy came out promptly at the time he said he would and repaired both the kitchen faucet and the bathroom shower quickly and efficiently. I will definitely be using them again in the future for my plumbing needs.

We had a major emergency situation with both toilets clogged and backing up in to the bathtub - and Ralph came out on a Sunday and had to take a toilet off to unclog everything!! He was amazing. I had a great experience with IHS. Our plumber, Andy, kept great communication with us throughout the entire process.There were no gimmicks or hustles. After he finished switching over a gas line for us he stuck around to help us get our gas dryer hooked up and made sure it was working appropriately! He went above and beyond and we will definitely be using IHS in the future.

Hansen’s is the only plumbing business I am aware of that charges no trip fee. When my tankless water heater began stopping flow intermittently they sent someone out to troubleshoot it . I decided to have it replaced rather than start replacing parts since it was 15 years old. Hansen’s didn’t charge for the diagnosis. They charged a flat fee for installation of the replacement. i tried to get Jet Plumbing to come out and give me a competitive quote but they wanted $125 to come out and give me a quote. I said forget it and had Ira Hansen plumbing install a Navien NPE-240SA . Because of the low average water temperature in our area I chose the highest output model so that I would be able to supply multiple hot water demands such as showers and a washing machine simultaneously . Greg Baustain did an outstanding job with the copper piping while keeping me informed of his progress. I would highly recommend Hansen Plumbing.

We were having issues with how long it took for our water to get hot and were considering having our water heater replaced with an on-demand water heater. Andy came out for an estimate and saw that it was just the recirc pump that needed replacing. They were able to replace it the next week. Very happy with the service provided overall! I had a new sink and disposal installed by Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing. The tech (Greg I believe) showed up same-day and on time. Greg got the job done in two hours for $375, parts and labor, did a fantastic job. I was quoted over $1600 for the same job by another well-known local plumbing company that I've used in the past, which I thought was absolutely insane! I'll be calling Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing next time I have some plumbing work to be done!

Tracy replaced the water heater, cleared a slow draining sink and finished some piping left unfinished by another company. He completely explained what was needed and what he was doing, showed me how he lights the water heater and left everything very neat. The price was comparable with work that I have had done in the past. I would definitely use this company again.

I called Ira Hansen Heating and Plumbing for a Water Heater issue in my home. The company promptly contacted me the following morning and sent their technician Mike Hautt. Very disappointed in the communication and service of Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing. I called them on Wednesday to take a look at a leak on the back of our property. The appointment was set between 3:30 & 4:30 the next day and once onsite, the tech was supposed to call me directly to provide an update and get approval for any repair. Needless to say, no one called and in fact gave my manager little to no information other than telling him that he (the tech) would be back the next day (no time given) with a generator to pump the line. The next day came and at 5:00 pm I received my first call back from a different tech who informed me that they would not be able to do the work because it would require a generator and they don't do that type of work. When I interjected that they needed better communication skills since we have wasted two days, the tech talked over me not listening and then proceeded to tell me that he wasn't given any detail about the job from the previous tech and wasn't told about the generator. When I suggested that they needed to improve their communication to both the customers and each other, he just continued to talk over me with no regard to my frustration. Very disappointed, we will not use them again!

We had some remodeling work done on our Master Bath last year, and needed the assistance of a plumber to coordinate with the tile contractor on the reconfiguration of the shower/bath piping. Called Ira Hansen and Sons and was very pleased with the quick response and the excellent work that Ralph performed for us when he came out on multiple visits during the project. We were also pleased with the price quoted, which is what they in fact charged, and not until the job had been completed!Last month, our water heater failed (leaking all over the garage). Due to our previous experience with Ira Hansen and Sons, we once again called them and spoke with Taylor who was very courteous and responsive to our situation, connecting me directly with Thayne who explained what water heater product they install and the relative warranty (10 years). He came out the same day and replaced the failed unit, once again for a fair price, compared to some of the quotes we had received from other local companies.All of the employees we dealt with at Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing are very professional, do great work, and their fees are reasonable. We will definitely contact them for any plumbing needs that arise in the future, and we have recommended them to friends and neighbors as well.
