I am so pleased with Mountainscapers’ landscaping work, both hardscape and plantings, done this summer in my Flagstaff yard. The yard’s previous minimal landscaping was not in keeping with Flagstaff’s piney environment, and had also become overgrown. Now, after Mountainscapers’ work, the yard blends beautifully with the surrounding pine trees, as well as the house—in the selection of plant material and mulch, the addition of contours, the elimination of formal edgings and chipped granite, and the creation of a lovely boulder-edged drainage way looking just as it would in the forest.

Mountainscapers’ owner, Sean Anderson, was a delight to work with—a good listener, creative, industrious, cheerful, and kind. When I had to leave town for an extended period before the work was done, I had complete confidence that all would be completed as planned. We kept in touch via phone, text, and photos, and I was delighted with the results when I returned. Sean was also very patient in helping me understand the irrigation and lighting systems.

I was also happy with how Sean found ways to reuse materials from one part of the yard to improve something in another part, thus reducing costs and accomplishing some fixes I hadn’t contemplated getting done this year.

I plan to work with Sean and his hard-working, skilled crew in the future and recommend them highly for any yard project, big or small.

The team over at Lone Star were great. They professionally quoted our project and started work almost immediately. We fell in love with their initial design concept and were just blown away at the results. Our backyard is now our favorite part of the property. We host outdoor events and get compliments all the time. I recommend them to everyone and couldn't be happier!

The team who came to my house was really great! They asked me exactly what work I needed done, and got right to it. I didn’t have all of the plants that I wanted them to install, so instead they trimmed a tree for me. The foreman answered my questions about caring for what they planted and he was nice enough to re-set our irrigation system. They cleaned up the yard and you’d have never guessed that anyone was here! I was very impressed with BJ’s Landscaping and we will definitely be using them again for our landscaping needs.

Jeremiah is a true professional. I am so glad we chose Master AZscapes for our project. Everyone of his crews to his office people were kind courteous and extremely informative with every step that was taking place. We did an extensive landscape project and it went smooth like butter. My backyard was starting to look like a small jungle after leaving the weeds unattended for a little too long. AMS made my yard look amazing so I can lounge in the backyard without needing a machete. The online portal for billing and scheduling is extra convenient too!

Our trees were really over grown. However, because I'm getting on in years I just couldn't safely trim them myself. My son lives in Prescott and wasn't available to come down and do the work for me so I started looking online for some help. I found Big Nick's and really liked their reviews. When I gave them a call they were super responsive and came out right away. They did an amazing job with the trees and it was very cost effective. I plan to have them come out regularly after this experience. Highly recommended.

I asked Luis to pretty much re-landscape my parents' backyard. All my parents had in the back was just dirt, weeds, and a citrus tree planted by my grandpa. Luis and his team came in and did an excellent job transforming the backyard to a much more attractive place for our family to hang out. My dad especially loves the putting green that was added... and the little bench between the citrus tree and the putting green is a perfect little shady spot to relax while putting around. Did I mention that Luis and his team was able to get the job done in one day! The timing was perfect! They completed the job before my parents returned home from the hospital. Needless to say it was a great surprise for them. Luis is a great guy with great teams working with him. I would highly recommend Landscaping Authority for your landscaping needs. We have been in the Valley since 1999 and Team Century West started out with a bang.

It was almost like our property was their property. Trust us that they addressed nooks around the home where others either glossed over or never addressed.

Hoping this will continue as due to C-19, we witnessed their efforts. They even raked, although like most, the Crew rely on far too much use of their gas blowers.

That said, Century West & Team Ivan are a welcome change to what most of us have become accustomed to with these fly by the seat companies.

We had a wonderful experience with them. They are very responsive to questions and concerns. They stick to the time frame. They clean up after themselves every day. They complete the job quickly. They are careful to keep the grass and yard protected when using heavy equipment.

We had this company install pavers 2 feet from our block wall and add rock between the pavers and block wall. We paid $4800! Which I felt was over priced but we were in a time crunch so we agreed to have them do the work. It took three weeks for this to be completed due to lack of communication and although my husband explained exactly what he wanted they still did not understand or take notes. I was not happy with the work they did there is a lot of dirt mixed In with the rock and they didn’t fill in the whole area with rock! I will not use this company again!

The entire team is very responsible and they answer and address any problem that comes up in a convenient way. If you are in need of any landscaping work do give them all and have your problems sorted out.

Hired Jose for a general yard clean up and he did a good job. A couple of months later I hired him for monthly yard service. My lot is around 3/4 acre and we agreed on general cleanup excluding tree trimming for $175 per visit.

He and his team were punctual and stayed for about an hour which comes out to $58/hr per person. Front and back area looked good after they finished and Jose needed to get paid right then and there. After they left I discovered that the side area of my yard looked untouched and branch clippings that we had agreed to be picked up where left behind.

I texted him and his response was I do it next month. Since I don't want to stare at a pile of debris for an entire month I politely asked him to come back before next month and to complete the job. He agreed and said next week. I didn't hear from him for 5 days and reached out when he would come. His response: I'll come by tomorrow and pick it up, but in the future I will only pick up branched that we cut off. He made it sound like he was doing me a favor by coming back even though it was part of the scope when he quoted me.

Needless to say he didn't show up when he promised he would. I then proceeded to call him to see when he would come back and he just hung up the phone on me. At almost $60/hr per person I expect better service!

Hire him at your own risk. He is a charming guy and fooled me.

VERY POOR COMMUNICATION from this place. We had Victor out for a quote to trim our mature Mesquite trees. His crew came after one failed time & day. They completed the job well and I was impressed with the attention to detail after. However, when I called to have them back to re-trim a tree that wasn't completely trimmed the first time I could not get them back. He made three appointment times and then just blew it off. Take your chances.

I recently moved to the Phoenix area and needed to have my back yard landscaped. Our builder let me know Gothic Landscaping had done the landscaping in the front yards for the new homes in my neighborhood. I thought I would get an estimate from them, since it might be easier to have the original landscaper do the back so the design would be consistent. I submitted an online request to have someone contact me. A week later I received a phone call from one of their design team. When I explained what I was considering for the design she asked me if I was having other estimates done, and I told her I was. She then asked me to give her the dimensions of the various projects that I had received from the other landscaping companies because it would save them a trip out. That was the first clue that there was something wrong with this company.

When I deflected her attempts to get me to give her the exact dimensions, she then told me, We aren't the cheapest company on the block, and if you're getting estimates from other companies, it's unlikely we can match their prices. I explained that I was getting estimates from several companies and would be choosing based not only on price but on overall customer service and willingness to work with me. Several times again she told me that their company was very expensive, and from her tone I got the distinct impression she didn't think I could afford them, which is clearly not the case. At this point I had reached my saturation point with her pretentious and elitist attitude, and told her that the problem wasn't that I couldn't afford their services, but the problem was clearly her erroneous assumption that I did not have the financial ability to pay for a landscape designer, and that her attitude had just cost them a very lucrative job.

If this is the sort of person Gothic Landscaping has selling their services, they may want to rethink how they do business. Salespeople assuming potential clients can't afford their services is a very costly mistake that I've seen happen time and time again. Also, insisting that the potential client pass along information they have received in estimates from other companies to save Gothic Landscaping employees a trip out there is about as lazy as it gets. If the company is seriously interested in attracting new clients, having a design specialist go to the property and meet with the owner to discuss design options is one of the most basic of services they should offer. I would avoid this company at all costs.
