We engaged them to remove and replace our backyard patios and install a beautiful pergola. Tony oversaw our project, and he was exceptional! I had ideas but Tony brought wonderful suggestions regarding both design and materials. Our backyard has truly been transformed.

Tony responded to my first outreach very quickly (when so many never even returned a call). He continued to be incredibly responsive and the utmost professional. Their team was very busy with multiple projects, as well as dealing with supply chain issues. Tony set clear expectations regarding deliverable dates and actually completed the project ahead of schedule. He stayed with every step of the project, came onsite to ensure all was being done as requested. etc.

Additionally, the construction team was very skilled in their respective areas and all were very respectful and professional.

We recently completed a patio makeover which included a lot of demolition, engineering and design and building an outdoor fireplace, plants, fire bowl, planter bowls, sprinkler system, lighting and travertine patio & stacked stone. We started with another landscaper and had to terminate them due to fraud. Chris at Lone Star stepped in and helped us start over. Wow! What an amazing job they all did (Chris, office staff & laborers)! They were all so professional and hard-working and made sure every detail we wanted done was taken care of in a timely manner. We also added some additional work in the front yard once they got started. Our back yard is so beautiful and now a true outdoor living space. We still can't believe it's our yard when we look out the windows. It only enhanced our view of the golf course and mountains. We would recommend them to anyone needing work. They have great resources and are so knowledgeable in their work. We are definitely calling on Lone Star for our next project (hopefully Phase 2 of the rest of the yard). It is so comforting to know they do have your best interests in mind. Chris never recommended something that was questionable. Jamie in the office was always more than willing to help with any detail, always seeing it through to the end. I found Lone Star through their website after seeing a picture of an outdoor fire pit that I liked. Chris emulated the project perfectly by getting Phoenix permits handled, tapping into a pre-existing gas line, extending the gas 70 feet and building a beautiful flagstone fire pit with boulders complete with new electrical outlets. The project turned out exactly as expected and we're pleased with a whole new area of our yard. Additionally, as the projected wrapped up there was a loosely-related electrical issue and he responded quickly to the problem after he had been paid, which is uncommon and highly appreciated.

Well, another project and great experience in the books with Lonestar Landscaping! We used Lonestar Landscaping 8yrs ago for a big travertine, outdoor fireplace, artificial turf project in our backyard, which was a success, so when we decided to totally redesign our front yard & add a BBQ island in the backyard, I had to reach out to Chris Cadena. 8 years later, I got the same experience: professional, skilled, stellar clean up, high quality material, timely, respectful of my property and a beautiful end product. Lone Star just wrapped up my front yard landscaping project a few days ago. My wife and I are very pleased with it!

I met with Chris and could tell right away that he had a lot of knowledge. He was good at listening to my nebulous ideas and then helping to ground them to produce realistic solutions. I wanted to modernize and 'green up' my yard. Realistically a redwood forest type of yard just isn't feasible in Phoenix, so Chris helped select a layout and plants that will be able to handle Arizona summers but also aren't just your standard cactus and palo verde trees.

The project was completed in only a few days. The crew seemed to be hardworking and effective. They were polite and cleaned up after themselves when they left. Jamie kept me updated as things progressed (since I was at work most of the time).

During the final walk-through Chris took the time to answer all of my questions and explain things thoroughly. He noticed a cap had been left off one of the wires and said he'd be back first thing the next morning to fix it. This is something I probably wouldn't have spotted on my own so I appreciated it. After he left I realized that the irrigation controller for the front yard was just a few feet from my backyard lawn sprinkler valves (which had been controlled from the garage on the other side of the house). I shot Jamie/Chris a message asking if there is anyway I could just connect the lawn valves to the new irrigation controller. Chris said that of course they could do this. Even though this wasn't part of the original plan and was some extra work for them they took care of it. I was already very happy with these guys and this just set it over the top.

I 100% recommend Lone Star for your landscaping needs! They are easy to talk to, professional, and very knowledgeable about how to create a fabulous looking yard. Looking forward to seeing how it will look in a year once the plants have had a chance to grow a bit!

Lone Star has recently completed our front and backyard renovation and it has turned out better than I could imagine! Chris was great to work with, he helped us with the design and kept within our budget. We had our old grass lawn removed and replaced with pavers, a new pool deck, new landscape rock,and landscape lighting. We cannot be more happy with the final results of the remodel of our backyard completed by Lone Star Landscaping. The detail in installation of stone, firepit, planter, turf and travertine tile was excellent. Corners and edges are clean and straight, surfaces are level, and hardscape around pool really came out better than expected. The crew was always friendly and respectful of our home and space. Our 13 year old yard now looks up to date and enjoyable again. Thank you Tony and crew for renewing our yard and creating a new space again.

Lone star was great, we have had them landscape our front yard, work was professional and highest quality. They finished the work quickly and it really looks nice. After our experience with the front yard we had them tackle our backyard. They travertined the entire pool deck, extended the patio and the backyard is incredible all for a great price. Lone Star Landscaping completely transformed the look and curb appeal of my home with a beautiful landscape and lighting design. Chris came to our house to look at our patio and give us recommendations for the best way to update our patio and get rid of an awful sand pit and rocks next to the existing patio. We decided on a specific project and got the ball rolling in early May, signing a contract. He said they would be able to do the project after May 21st, and they were able to start the last week of May.

Chris was in constant contact with me even before the project started, keeping me updated on the timeline. Once the project started, he was there day 1 to make sure his crew knew exactly what to do. They worked so hard and were able to get the project done in 2 days! He came by to meet with my husband and make sure all was to our satisfaction.

They did great work, bringing the design to life, stuccoing the walls, installing the plants, the water and lighting systems – all well done – a great talented team, and everyday the work area was cleaned up, organized, all hoses neatly coiled – professional.

This review is long overdue. I had Chris and his team at Lonestar Landscaping give my front and back yard a major makeover a few months ago. I hadn't had the best luck with landscapers in the past because I always ended up feeling that they were in a hurry to get my job finished, collect a check and generally weren't too concerned with my satisfaction. It was the complete opposite with this company. Chris took the time to listen to my overall goals and never seemed to be in a rush. He made plant and design recommendations based on his expertise which resulted in a much more complete end result. Lone Star reinstalled my grass, pulled out two huge Mesquites, fixed my entire watering system, put in new and awesome plants and installed my lighting system. When I pull up to my house I love the way it looks and don't have that my landscaper ripped me off feeling. Do yourself a favor, pick up the phone and give them a call, you'll be happy you did!

Starting with the estimate process, Chris at Lonestar was transparent in setting up what we could expect from the company from pricing to quality to timing. What I liked most was that he stuck to just what we wanted and only suggested upgrades to specific items when there was a meaningful value add to our project. Because of this, of the 3 estimates we got, it was both the lowest price and best value for what we were looking to accomplish.

There was a short time where we felt a lack of communication between when we paid our scheduling deposit and actually getting on the schedule. The reality is, there's no perfect way to predict when one job ends and the next begins and once we expressed concern over the lack of communication, they were quick to keep us up to date on when our project would start.

The end result is really phenomenal for what we paid. The minor adjustments we asked for after the work was done were taken care of within a day. We got more done for less money than another local landscaper had already done in our yard, and we will certainly reach out to Lone Star first when it's time to do more work.

These guys remodeled our entire backyard and built a pergola for us. Did an amazing job. Great quality and customer service. My neighbor recommended them to us after they built her a new pool. They can do it all. Really good people to work with. Chris is very creative.

Lone Star Landscaping did a beautiful design for our yard. We had met with 3 companies prior to them, none of which we were happy with. Our designer was professional and knowledgeable bringing things to our attention that others had overlooked. We had a large travertine paver area done with a fireplace and a barbecue with a bar. They were not the cheapest, but definitely reasonable. It was a refreshing experience from beginning to end.

Lonestar Landscaping did exceptionally on a paver job that they recently completed on my garage driveway and half circle driveway. It looked as good as the picture that I saw online of one of their previous projects which is why I contacted them for the job. My neighbors stop at our corner when they see me to compliment the update. One even worded it as breathtaking. The guys are diligent with their work and will check in with you periodically so that you both are on the same page on expectations. All in all, I am very satisfied with the completed project. It has made quite an impact on the property's curb appeal and my neighbors like me better now :)

We wanted a whole backyard makeover... new walls around pool equipment, gazebo structure, improvements to the pool, new grass, sprinklers, lamp posts, etc. Not only did LSL help communicate and guide us through this process, they came in on budget and on time, too. The results still get ooohhh and ahhhhs from my friends that come to visit and the yard (some 5 years after construction on the back yard was done) still holds up REALLY well, unlike so many I did it myself projects tend to do.
I have been able to ask the staff for advice and small follow-ups here and there over the years and have hired them on numerous times to upgrade this, and install new that. It's always done with a friendly smile and capable crew.

The latest project was for some pavers in the front yard. The HOA rejected the proposal at first - seeking more information. The communication between LSL and myself was easy, drama free, and successfully completed in short order. The work done was - as expected - on time, clean, professional, and on budget.

These guys are not the cheapest, less expensive guys in town, but they provide an amazing value. In the numerous projects I have had them run for me, I have never heard drama or observed missed time frames like so many contractors do. I never hear Well so-and-so's truck wouldn't start, so we had to move your job to next week... kind of stuff. Always heard We will be there tomorrow at 7am.... and you can almost set your watch!

These guys are MY guys... so please don't hire them.... I want them all to myself!

We moved into our house about a year ago and both the front and back yards really needed help. I met with Chris at Lonestar and I really appreciated his level of knowledge and collaboration to plan and then create a truly beautiful end result. Once we took out all of the overgrown plants and a few diseased trees, we had somewhat of a blank slate. Chris proposed a lot of mounding, boulders and specimens that ended up looking like a gorgeous botanical garden! It is a fantastic end result that we enjoy on a daily basis. We not only did landscaping, but also hardscape. Our bland little concrete patio was extended and transformed with travertine pavers and a custom BBQ island.

I have worked with other landscapers and Lonestar is the best by far. Great design, exceptional knowledge of both plants and hardscape and a crew that shows up on time, works hard and cleans up when they are done. I would recommend Lonestar with 100 percent certainty!

We used Lone Star Landscaping AZ for a complete redo of our backyard and we are so glad we went with this company. There are many things that impressed us, especially the friendliness and professionalism of the personnel and the ability to translate our ideas into viable results. For example we found a fire pit online that we liked, and they were able to simply take the photo and build it exactly as we requested. They also solved a problem with our pool that others had been unable to address. We added extensive hardscape including pavers, planters and a large barbeque. This was an important project for us, and the quality of the work done exceeded our expectations. I hired the guys from Lanestar to do clean up in my yard. They did a great job and went above and beyond. They cleaned everything up and trimmed several trees and bushes. Yard looked great. It was very reasonable price for amount of work they did. It saved me a couple days off well worth the price.

Will defiantly use them again.

Lone Star just finished my project today. The work is exceptional. I had a long 3' x 40' elevated planter. They removed all of the old plants (which were overgrown and a mismatch of a mess) and placed new plants, a new water line, and granite. Couldn't be happier. Would highly recommend.

I would not hesitate to use this contractor again. The group of masons who laid my pavers worked well as a team and they stayed until the job was complete and clean. They use high quality material and also make sure that any drainage issues are addressed before installation begins. They did a real nice job on my front patio flagstone also. Highly recommend.

We have a small backyard that needed some major work, we are so glad that we hired Chris with Lonestar landscaping. This is definitely a company I would recommend!! He had a great idea for the layout of our yard and six months later it still looks great.

I have a relatively small backyard that needed some serious work. I contacted a few different landscapers and Lone Star had what I thought was the most efficient ideas to make use of the space. The one thing I always wanted was a built in barbeque but had no idea where to put it or work it into my backyard. Chris came up with a really neat solution and I very happy with the way it all came out.

I normally never bother to write reviews, but I have to share what was the worst customer service experience I've ever had to warn others of how they may get treated.

In April 2018, I paid in full for Chris to put together plans for my rather large back yard. Contacting him is an extreme pain - do not bother calling their business number as you will get connected with someone who seems like they could care less about your concerns. I emailed Chris roughly 15 times over the past 5 months and called countless times to try to get updates on blown deadlines, which there were 4 of them and countless excuses.

He eventually agreed to come meet at my house to try to right things and talk details of the plan, which came out to be incorrect twice (probably because there was such a long gap between the meeting and when he sent me the next drawing).

Finally in September of 2018, after missing the deadline for the 'final plan' twice, he sends me a drawing with no dimensions, no renderings, no estimates, and no water/power/gas line configurations like I had asked for. When I asked him about it - the drawing is 'to scale'. Now nobody can do any work without converting the plot plans to what a PDF hopefully correctly converts tiny measurements to.

All of this to say, I highly warn anyone who doesn't have money in hand (do not pay in full before the job is done, or this may happen to you too) for a specific job and dimensions ready to go to work with Lone Star. They really need to work on their communication and committing to promises. I am now out almost $2,000 with no workable plan. I am hoping they will now bother to call me and correct this imbalance.

I have been trying to work with Chris since September of last year on a large backyard remodel. It is now 9 months later and we still do not have permits. I received numerous emails stating we were almost there come to find out plans had not even been filed with city. I asked if he ws too busy months ago and I would go elsewhere. Nope we were almost there. Come to find out plans have been sitting at the city since March waiting for corrections. I offered to pick up plans and have the delivered to responsbile parties, again no response. All I want is permits and will he not add me to file at the city so we can move on. And yes we gave him 1/2 down to work through permitting.

Worked with Chris. He came up with multiple ideas and designs for the backyard. It was a great experience. Everyone was friendly and professional. I will be using them again for my next project.
