Mike Counsil Plumbing did a great job to help identify the source of a 20 gallons per day (3,360 gallons per week) water leak at our house and then replaced the leaking connection with a water shut-off value.We were notified by Beacon (the firm that regularly checks our house water meter via EyeOnWater) that a water leak had been detected at our house. We ruled out a toilet leak, a leak in our irrigation system, or a leak in any of our other appliances.Mike Counsil Plumbing responded to our call by sending out Gert Visser and he systematically walked our property and crawled under the small space under our house to rule out common house water leak sources. After a small puddle of water was found behind our garage, Gert was able to carefully dig into the ground and found the leak in a connection between copper and PVC pipes that deliver water to another section of our property. Despite being a week before Christmas, Gert was able to organize his colleague Samuel Andrade to come out within a few hours of the leak source being identified to replace the bad connection with a water shut-off value.Throughout this process, Gert and Samuel kept us informed of their progress, were very professional, and implemented a high-quality solution. We used Marti's Plumbing Service for an emergency water heater change-out in June, 2021. We also asked that they apply for a building permit on our behalf, and Marti's agreed.

The technician sent by Marti's did not install all of the necessary parts for the water heater. He also cut the line between the water heater and the washer and caused a leak. Only after multiple conversations did Marti's compensate us for the amount that we had paid to repair the leak.

Marti's also refused to apply for a building permit after their initial promise, so I applied for a water heater change-out permit on my own. I received the following list of corrections from the City of Cupertino's building inspector. I called Marti's many times to bring the water heater up to code, because they provide a one-year warranty with their services, but it was very difficult to reach them to schedule a follow-up visit.

City of Cupertino's List of Required Corrections:

1. Single wall vent connector for water heater requires 6 min clearance to combustibles ( Sheetrock ) and single wall connector not approved for penetrating rated assembly.
2. Provide access to vent flue to verify B-vent or install new for water heater flue.
3. Provide insulation on first 5'ft of water lines at water heater
4. T&P piping at termination to not be threaded and to terminate 6-24 off garage floor or pipe to exterior and maintain same termination clearance off ground surface
5. Water heater to be fully blocked and braced
6. Water heater bracing at lower brace to be located within bottom 1/3 and 4 above control valve
7. Tighten water heater bracing
8. Provide water bond hot to cold and to gas line.
9. Provide approved expansion tank brace and install per manufactures installation instructions
10. Provide sediment trap on gas line after the valve and before the flex

I thought I needed a new wax ring for a toilet. Chandler was able to come within 24 hours, quickly diagnosed that it was a different leak, and fixed it immediately. He even followed up the next day to make sure that the issue was resolved. He charged what he quoted and didn't inflate once he got there. I will definitely call again when I need a plumber.

Odor noticed in the bathroom of our home. Matt came and conducted a free visual inspection before offering some possibilities of what may be the cause. I opted to have a camera inspection conducted in the hopes of finding something. The next day, Matt and Erick arrived and conducted a thorough camera inspection, providing updates, pictures and videos. After finding a missing section in our drain waste vent system, we opted to have that section replaced. Erick and another technician, Jose, worked efficiently and quickly to install the system and even drained another section free of charge. Overall my experience was very pleasant. No hassle, no-nonsense, and never felt deceived or pressured. Would recommend.

A well-deserved 5 Stars for Jose and Pipe-Thru Trenchless Plumbing for the estimate, the actual work, the clean up, and the cost. Trenchless was definitely the way to go. My job was done to perfection, and the cost was lower than other estimates.

Jose was super responsive when scheduling the estimate. The estimate was thorough and detailed and included pulling permits. The crew showed up on time, was friendly (I kept coming out to take pictures of the progress) and finished ahead of the estimated time (my wife liked having the sewer back). After the city inspection, they thoroughly compacted when refilling the hole. They even carefully uncovered some irises they had to cover with dirt. The irises look no worse for the wear. There's no way to tell they were even here.

We had a sewer back up a few months ago, and we were looking for someone to install a clean out for us. Freddy was very knowledgable and patient with us in explaining the process. They installed the sewer clean out, did a scope, provided us a video explaining clearly what they saw, and provided us recommendations. He was very honest and even provided us a lot of different recommendations on how to maintain our line if we were not ready to do work at this time. His prices are very reasonable, we really liked his knowledge and ethics, and we decided to move forward with the work. We also decided to replace our water line at the same time since it was old PVC pipe, and the previous installers did a horrible job, and Freddy provided an incentive to do both jobs. I would definitely recommend Freedom Underground for your sewer and plumbing needs!
