He improved the design, tested it twice and even explained the reasons while giving trouble-shooting advice for the future.We will definitely be calling on him for future plumbing issues/ preventative maintenance.

Rooter Hero came out very quickly and repaired our shower. They did a great job in a complicated job. It took two days but they were very efficient in getting it done as soon as possible. Juan on the first day tried to fix the shower but turned out the project was bigger than anticipated. He was efficient and did a great job. Next day, Hector came out and did an amazing job! Was very fast, professional and excellent! Even cleaned up after! Will definitely choose Rooter Hero again for our plumbing needs!

We have a three-level townhouse. On Friday night, we suddenly encountered a nightmare-like issue of sewage backup. A large amount of waste came up from the sewer and flooded the toilet and shower on the first floor. The bathroom on the first floor was very dirty, and the entire first floor was almost uninhabitable. Rooter Hero sent David Moreno to help us solve the problem at 9 am the next morning. David is the best technician I have ever seen. He worked very professionally and passionately, and he helped us contact the HOA, camera man, and heavy-duty drain cleaning. He even went above and beyond by cleaning the bathroom very diligently, even though it was not his job. My wife and I are very grateful to him and Rooter Hero!

Making the appointment was very efficient and quick because they had all the information they needed from previous appointments. Arrival was timely with adequate advance call as to when Ernest would arrive. Ernest was very knowledgeable and very conscientious to make sure the job was done properly. We had a nasty toilet clog that the plunger wouldn’t fix. Jimmy showed up with a smile, explained the process and fees and quickly got to work. The cost seemed fair and reasonable. He got rid of the clog and was very clean and efficient in the process. I highly recommend and thanks for your help.

We discussed other things that might be helpful to consider down the road. We elected not to do a new clean out, only because we have earmarked the money for other repairs. This company is awesome! Came out quickly to fix a pretty big clog in my toilet drain. Had it done in seconds and price was outstanding! A couple of months ago I had a plumber, contracted by Home Depot, replace a defective toilet with a new one; that new toilet recently backed up. I looked online for a good, licensed plumber and found Rooter Hero plumbing. I had bad luck with a handyman doing work ay my place. David from Rooter Hero came out that night to assess the problem. He noticed the clog in the clean out and that the flap at the bottom of the clean out was installed incorrectly. David used a bladder to clear the obstruction, but also noticed the water flow wasn't as fast as it should be when the toilet was flushed. David suggested that my old clean outs be replaced with new ones; I agreed for the work to be done and signed a work order. David came out again to begin the work of replacing the old clean outs with new plastic ones; Ramon worked on the clean out replacements as well. David also inspected my old plumbing under my house and saw that I have old cast iron pipes for my plumbing; some were rusty, and a leak could be starting. He suggested I have them replaced with new plumbing. Juan, the field manager, visited me, observed my plumbing, and discussed the work, the warranty, and various payment options. I told Juan I don't want an apprentice to do the work; he agreed. I called Juan the next day to approve the necessary work to be done. Juan came out and I signed another work order. On the following Monday, Adrian and Luis came out to replace my old cast iron plumbing with new plastic plumbing, all in 1 day. David also came out a few days later to clear a clog in my new toilet and replaced defective plumbing under my kitchen sink. The plumbers did a good job at my place and were very professional with their work. The cost for all of the work done wasn't cheap by any means, but it had to get done. As of this writing I'm still waiting for the County to come out and inspect the work that was done at my place. Hopefully it will pass with flying colors.

In a panic, I turned to Google for help and found Rooter Hero Plumbing, who offered 24/7 emergency services and had great reviews.After explaining the situation to Rooter Hero, they informed me about their busy schedule for the day and promised to prioritize our case as soon as possible. However, as hours passed, the situation rapidly escalated. Despite cutting off the water supply to the toilets, the water and sewage backup started spewing from multiple drains and vents throughout the building, even reaching our warehouse space with valuable inventory and machinery.In my desperation, I contacted Rooter Hero again to update them on the escalating problem. To my relief, the dispatch person I spoke with was incredibly understanding and empathetic. Although it took a few more hours for the other employee to arrive with the necessary equipment, their arrival brought swift relief. They remodeled two bathrooms in 2022 due to a water pipe breakage and did the remolding promptly and with excellent employees; they were always on time and respectful of our home. Had a leak under the kitchen sink. Jerry quickly diagnosed multiple issues with the plumbing and derived a solution. He then contacted his supervisor David M to ensure that he agreed woth the proposed solution. David arrived minutes later and concurred with Jerry and approved the work Jerry needed to do. Christian did a terrific job with snaking our drain blockage. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, definitely someone that we would be comfortable with servicing our needs. Dispatcher called when our service rep was on the way and they arrived right according to their ETA. It was useful that we were able to schedule on a Saturday and get helped in the same day.Alex C. did a great job! They had little foot covers for their shoes which I appreciate and for $77 our kitchen sink got de-clogged. Alex was also helpful and willing to answer questions. We were told that there was visible gunk inside the pipes and what were other options we could consider which was helpful to know.Would call Rooter Hero again.

We had a broken drainer and clogged pipe at the same time late night. I booked the earliest appointment immediately and they send the professional plumber the early morning. Julio did a good job to diagnose and fix issues within 1 hour and gives good advices on maintaining the pipes. Very satisfying work and will call them again for any plumbing work needed.

Edgar performed excellent work. Had the work finished in no time and left everything very clean.
Also, his partner went under my 50 year old house to take pictures of the sewer pipes to verify there were no leaks. This was included in the service at no extra charge.

Called up early in the morning for a leak on our home's pressure regulator...had a call back soon after then scheduled a technician to come out via dispatch. Marco came out, took a look leak then explained the problem and solution. They quoted the work I think fairly (all the trades are expensive right now) and completed the job very quickly (quicker than we originally thought) and we now have a new regulator, shutoff valve and hose bib. We detected a leak in our sprinkler valve and RooterHero was responsive and able to get someone to come out in 1-1.5 hrs. The call center was clear upfront that they would not be able to repair the sprinkler valve at that time but could help shut off the water valve. Julio showed up quickly and was professional and helpful in trying to find the irrigation water valve (as we did not know where it was located). It was dark and we could not locate the valve so we decided to shut off the main water valve for the night - which he did kindly at no charge. We appreciate all of his help during this emergency leak situation and will definitely use them again for any future plumbing issues.

Don't spend your money with this company! Lacks honesty!Be extremely cautious about calling them and using their marketing promotions. They did bait and switched with me, they had a marketing coupon for $77 when I gave them a call, they were quick to schedule an appointment but once they came on the property they tried to charge over 5 times the promo!

Francisco was true professional. He took every pains to get to the bottom of the problem. He explained it in very details. He took his sweet time to fix the problem. He presented 3 different proposals.He tested the Heating system after replacing different parts. He left only after the system was working to my satisfaction.

Water pooling on front lawn when sprinklers turned on. They were quick to respond, had a city inspection done, & did a great clean up. They did plumbing replacement last year of corroded, & leaking pipes, taking pix to show me as they did this time. Did an amazing job fixing the plumbing in an emergency situation. Let me know all my options not just the most costly one. Let us know step by step what was going on as they worked on the project. Was time efficent and respectful. And cleaned up everything after they were finished.

Arrived at the times promised. Did a sewer clean out with camera, then we proceeded a week later with a trench less sewer line replacement. Gio and his crew were very careful to ask frequently about our preferences. Did as good a job as possible restoring the front yard to status quo. Very friendly crew, easy to talk to.

I got a courtesy phone call letting me know when to expect the plumber.When Jimmy showed up, he asked me a few questions to get an idea what was going on.Once he got his equipment, jimmy worked quickly and efficiently.I’m real glad we went with Rotor Hero of San Jose.I didn’t know this but Rotor Hero covers work from Gilroy to South San Francisco.To be honest, I called another plumber in the morning, but they couldn’t guarantee job completion in the afternoon.Thanks Jimmy and Rotor Hero!You guys are awesome!

I am so impressed by Edgar and Rotor Hero that i want to leave a reviewfor the benefitof others. I needed my main line sewer cleanout hydrated, I called several plumbing companies who would charge me to come over even to give me a quote, or couldn't make it today as the weather is bad and they are not available. ROTOR Hero was answered by a professional person who told me there would be No Charge to come out for an estimate, a professional van with 2 uniformed technicians came out within a half our, explained the work and results to me in excellent detail.I am impressed with EDGAR, he knows his stuff and super patient explaining my dumb questions.His company should note that Edgar is an asset.Their rates are extremely reasonable and fair, I know as I called around.My problem is fixed so quickly , and I only want to call them from now on for any plumbing or HVAC systems they service. I truly wish the best to them.I plan to leave another review on our Nextdoor app as well for my neighborhood, honest solid businesses need support to keep doing what they do.

Had a sewer backup, half the house was down. It was getting late into the evening and Marco arrived relatively quickly for which I was grateful. Able to handle problem asap, now were back in business!

After removing one toilet, dealing with overflow, and using a HD bought snake, 4 hours later I gave up and called Roto-Rooter. Edgar arrived on time, very professional, knowledgeable, and cleared the clog in less than a half hour. My only regret is I didn’t call them immediately. Thanks Edgar. Darrell

I had previously been shown a video camera image of roots growing inside the drainage line going to the sewer and decided to make use of their $77 drain cleaning coupon to do some maintenance despite never having had a sewage backup. Edgar arrived within 45 minutes of my call, was clean and professional as he answered my questions and ran the rooter through the line twice to make sure he got out as much of the roots as possible.

The plumber was excellent. He arrived on time, did his job cheerfully, very knowledgable and professional.Note that the dispatch wasn’t on task as they didn’t let me know there was a delay initially and the coupon from the newspaper didn’t mention that shower drains were excluded from the special pricing of $77. Total cost $250. I wouldn’t be giving 5 stars, except that David, the actual plumber was excellent!

This was my first experience with Rooter Hero. The technician (Ernest) showed up on time, diagnosed the issue (clogged kitchen drain line) and worked diligently to fix the problem. I'm happy with the outcome and the good value for the work. I will certainly call Rooter Hero the next time I need a plumbing repair.

Technician (Marco) was competent, clearly wanted to do a good job, and pleasant. Based on this, and previous, experiences with Rooter Hero drain service, I am a fully-satisfied customer.

Jimmy was the best. The dispatch called within 10 minutes of the call with a technician available on a Sunday afternoon. Jimmy showed up a half hour later. I have a persistent problem with my main drain and after I explained what has happened before, Jimmy went to work. He was able to resolve the issue within an hour and everything was back to normal. I cannot ask for better service.

Francisco spent many hours working on my heating system. The mother boards and dampers needed to be replaced. He worked diligently to get the job done! He is quite knowledgeable with the system and is very patient to explain how it works and what he’s doing to fix it. They are definitely my go to for my HVAC needs.

Contrary to what their site and phone operators say, they do not offer underground leak detection. I called, explained that I had confirmed a slow underground leak between the street and house and needed someone with the expertise and equipment to locate the leak. They immediately dispatched a team who first tried to sell me that the entire water main needed to be replaced, then reluctantly admitted that the copper line was relatively new, then said that THEIR leak detection specialist would be dispatched later that day. At the end of the day, when no one had come (water is leaking all this time underground) I called only to learn that they don't have the equipment or employ such a specialist and that they could refer me to someone I could call myself. If a leak is your issue, skip Rooter Hero and go directly to a specialist.

Very impressed with the quick service response. They were able to send and service tech within the hour. Julio was very professional and persistent in determining the cause of our drainage issue.

We needed to clean out a clog in a drain that we couldn’t clear on our own. He was nice, professional and efficient and actually honored the $77 advertisement.

Unable to schedule routine ac/heater maintenance: told the advertised service no longer exists! Only service is to check safety, but my system working well so asked if safety check the same as maintenance: told unknown & my only option is to pay for a visit to learn about recommended service. Routine maintenance on Internet brings up Rooter.Hero so person answering phone need to know—unbelievable to ask me to PAY FOR INFORMATION ON ROUTINE SERVICES OFFERED!

Adhemar unclogged my bathtub drain, repaired a bad shower faucet handle, and inspected my kitchen sink plumbing. He was professional, made reasonable recommendations and ensured the job site was clean. He cleared out the bathtub drain easily and showed me a simple fix for the kitchen sink that I could do on my own. The shower fix took a bit longer, since he had to find the right part. He picked it up and dropped it off between his other jobs, and we worked out another time to install it. He did a great job!

Edgar came out to help us diagnose a mysterious sewage smell. We had quite a few companies come by before, but none of them were able to do anything (or perhaps weren't interested in helping) until we met Edgar. He was attentive, down-to-earth, professional, and actually helped us learn a lot about what is going on in our drain system (via a sewer camera and explanations). Based on my experience, I would trust Edgar to get to the bottom of any plumbing/draining problem and solve it correctly. If we had more people like Edgar, we wouldn't have had sewage problems to begin with...

In a nutshell we were charged for having to plead with the plumbers to try every avenue. While seeming like they just wanted to check off boxes as fast as possible to get out of there. Only before the only other option is to spend 3K to fix the clogged drain. I called another plumber the next day and he got the job done. Full story on Yelp. Plumber even suggested since we are moving out in 15 days to just let the owners of the house worry about it after we leave. With grey water and no shower or bath with a one year old he suggested that. Not good business.

Edgar was my Technician, he was professional, 5 star service (fast the through) in snaking my main drain. I liked him so much that I’d probably ask that he’d be my annual maintenance dude for drain cleaning if possible.The missing star was due to not being able to service me in the scheduled 2-4pm window and didn’t make it till nearly 5:30pm, not his fault that he wasn’t dispatched to my job.I did ask Edgar for a quote on Annual Maintenance, however he has not responded (probably an office 'ask'). I had house guests over the weekend and both their showers backed up with really gross stuff. We had 14 guests coming to dinner that night. I called my long time plumber only to get a recording that they don't work weekends. What!? You have to be available weekends! I called Rooter Hero. A very nice lady handled my call and had a technician, Alex, on the way and to my house an hour later. He fixed the problem even though it was more complicated than usual. John also came out to finish photographing our pipes. He was very pleasant and efficient. Price was reasonable to my surprise. Plumbing is usually staggering. These are my new plumbers!!

I had a fast response with the appointment manager and excellent service with the technician 8505 Juan Carrasco on August 20th. Juan came back on August 23rd to replace a filter that wasn't available on the 20th visit. However, the filter was not the best size and he suggested that I order the correct size, and that he would come back and install the new filter for free.I sent a text message to them on August 26th, saying that it had arrived. No response. I sent them an email on September 7th and got an email back saying that my request would be passed on to Juan right away. Then silence. I sent another email on November 2nd. This one got ignored. I sent a third email on November 14th, saying that I would leave negative reviews if my request continued to get ignored. Yep, ignored.

Full disclosure, there were some scheduling challenges not caused by the technician. Once Jonathan Cena arrived, he quicky and efficiently resolved the blocked drain. All during the appointment he displayed the professionalism and skill anyone could hope for.

We had a slow running kitchen sink drain and thought there might be a clog somewhere. Eli showed up on time, was very friendly and professional and explained the work he we going to do. He was very honest as well and only charged for the work he said he would do. He ended up running a snake through the trap and when that didn’t work he had to check the P pipe under the sink. He said he would have to charge more if he needed to disassemble it, but instead found a much simpler source of the problem which was a faulty drain flap that prevents big things from falling into the the disposal. He did not charge extra for that work as he said and I felt that showed a lot of honesty and integrity. Problem was solved in less than an hour and I’m a satisfied customer. I would highly recommend Rooter Hero and Eli.

We had an emergency. This company confirmed a tech will be coming. However, after waiting for 3 hours, no one is coming. When I called back, they let us wait for dispatch center to call back. No one called back after another half hour. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Their internal operation seems very disjoint. The call center don't have any information on anything. The dispatch team never calls you back. The only thing they do is keeping you waiting.So regret that I have wasted my day with this company. Please do not repeat my mistake!!

This kid was a 5 Star employee by far.He was on time explaining what had to be done to fix the problem.Then when I asked him questions he explained everything perfectly.I already spread the word to my neighbors to give this company a call if they have any plumbing problems.?

Sewer line was clogged outside the house underneath the drive way. The technician opened up the clean out which has a flapper to prevent back flow into the house. Even though he knew the line was clogged already, he did not want to clean it first. Instead he went ahead running camera from the clean out outwards to the street in the muddy clogged line. Obviously we couldn’t see anything specific, but he proposed a $6800 repair at one camera location. I did not consent because the industry practice is to clean the line, and run the camera to give a detailed report, then propose report. He refused, and charged $258 for the camera, and leave the line clogged. I had to call in another company to clean it first, and discovered there are potential two spots needing repairs, not the one spot this first company proposed by ‘guessing through the dark pipe’.

Omar explained clearly what needed to be done to take care of the clogged drain in our kitchen sink. His work was clean and efficient, showing me the cause for the blockage.

Replaced all drains and connecting pipes in crawl space for two duplex units. Good guys. Not cheap, but they are responsive, do good work, and I’d use them again.

We had some pipe issues come up recently, so we called Rooter Hero Plumbing which we have used in the past. We've always had great service and this time was no different, we were lucky to get Juan. Juan made sure everything was done correctly, addressed any questions we had along with his boss Freddie. Juan and his team were the best. They kept us informed of their progress as they spent 2 days under the house. They always let us know when they were on their way and made sure everything was clean before they left for the day. I live in an older home and of course the pipes in and around the property are on their last leg. Thankfully I have used rooter hero before and knew I could count on them when I called. I spoke to Giovanni and he came right over to take a look and by the next day he had a team out to my house and the job was started and finished with a couple of days. We used Rooter Hero for couple of years now. March of this year we had a big project with them, replacing all old iron plumbing pipes with PCV pipes. Alex Cardenas/Becerril was the lead installer. He was very professional, prompt, and responsive. The project was several days long but he was so nice and courteous that the tenants didn't mind the coming and going, and the city inspection. All was good.Fast forward to today, the tenant had a clogged in the bathroom. Rooter Hero quickly scheduled a technician, and Alex came to help. It turned out the clogged was due to too much hair went down the drain.I really appreciate the prompt response, and the support from Rooter Hero and especially from Alex. Two thumbs up.

We engaged Rooter Hero when we were in an urgent situation. Our sewer line failed on a Friday night. With little time to research and tenants living in the house we had no choice but to use their services. We needed a segment of the line replaced. We had tenants living in the home, there was no water and we could not get any other plumbers out on a weekend. The cost to replace this small segment was just under $8000 and did NOT include a washout. It was not even proposed even though they told us we should replace the entire line. We later found out after having two other plumbing companies come and give us a quote that a washout should have been included since there is risk to the rest of the line failing. We also found out we paid 200% more than we should have. The other companies also did a video inspection and during that time it seemed the new segment had already shifted. We did contact Rooter Hero regarding the shifting of the segment and the over charge. They put us in touch with their 'compliance' guy who then sent out the SAME technician who did the repair to inspect his own work? This made no sense to us. We have since heard nothing from Rooter Hero regarding the over charge. I urge you to read BBB reviews before using this company. There are many claims for over charing and taking advantage of people with their pricing. It looks like they have had license issues in the past as well.

We needed an emergency plumber for a tub control that was spraying water. David was prompt and very friendly. He was able to diagnose the issue and talk us through what needed to be repaired. Since it was after 10pm some options were not available to us until morning, others were offered but were more extreme. We opted to leave the water off overnight and David returned first thing in the morning with the required parts and the repair was done. Overall we were very happy with the service and the information that he shared with us.

Absolutely the worst customer experience I’ve ever had. After being over Charge and calling them five times each time promising the manager would give me a call back I finally received a call after I emailed her district manager, go figure. Francisco Mercardo did a great job explaining what was once alarming me. When heating my home when the outside temperature is below freezing, the coils have to occasionally go through a defrost cycle.

Luckily I caught it early and turned off the washer. I called Hero Rooter, and from the very beginning, we received excellent service. David Moreno, the plumber assigned to us was excellent. He was at our house within a few hours. David diagnosed the problem, clearly explained it, and fixed it. He even checked under the house to make sure there was no leakage. Before he left for his next job, he made sure the job was completed correctly We highly recommend this company.

We had to follow youtube videos to learn how to stop the water & gas etc. We called them again and they said the appointment was never confirmed. That is how we wasted our day.

I had a real bad clog way down the line in my toilet that was difficult to break up/reach and he inevitably ended up using the big snake that did the job and my toilet was flushing again. Not only did he put new replacement hardware on my toilet when he reinstalled it but cleaned up everything too. I work in a capacity where I interact with a lot of guys in the trades. John is a hard worker and very pleasantly answered my questions about the repair and reassured me it could be fixed and it was.

Our plumber was very kind and professional. It was a pleasure working with him (we almost didn’t even want to write the negative review because we liked him so much).Unfortunately the company he works for is not.Our issue with our drain was not fix and a new leak formed ( from the same pipe) after they worked on our pipe. Tony, the manager, wanted to charge us for the work even though it was not fixed and they caused a new leak. We were more than happy paying for the original work but we wanted the new leak fixed since it came from them. We told him we didn’t think this was fair to be charged hundreds more for them to look at the new leak considering that it started with their work.Tony started talking and within the first minute, I had a question. I admittedly interrupted him because I wanted to ask the question before he moved on. He was very rude and in a condescending way said, “excuse me I am talking. Please don’t interrupt me while I am speaking.”Tony was very unprofessional. He told us that we can’t prove that they caused the new leak. The new leak did not start until they worked on the pipe. He was extremely dismissive, not understanding of our point of view, and not willing to compromise or brainstorm solutions to the problem. He said it was our pipes fault (possibly old) and not theirs. Even if that was the case, the one star is for how Tony handled the situation. He seemed very angry and frustrated the whole conversation. Instead of deescalating a situation, he escalated it.He got extremely upset that we were going back and forth with him, called me crazy, stormed off and then said to never contact them again. We then said we’d still pay our plumber . Tony told him not to take our money because we would then later accuse him of robbing us!! I truly don’t understand how this person is a manager.

Rooter Hero of San Jose was stellar! They were unable to come out on a Sunday afternoon but booked their first Monday morning appointment for us. Omar was right on time with a trainee. Omar was extremely professional while explaining each step of the way not only to us but his trainee as well. The problem was resolved and the price exactly as advertised. They are now my go to company for any other rooter problems. I highly recommend them and couldn't be happier.

I was never sure if both of my sewer clear outs needed to be replaced. John Castaneda and Tony Serrano handled the repairs. They charged me over $7,000 and they left the repair 7 months before they completed it. I would not recommend Rooter Hero plumbing. I was not able to get multiple estimates because the toilets were backing up into the shower and bathtub.

Rooter Hero cleared my drain, then they tried to clear my bank account.The short story: Rooter Hero advertised a $77 drain clearing special and tried to charge me $409 when they completed the work. They then tried to convince me to pay what seemed like exorbitant prices for work that didn't need to be done. The cost of those options ranged from $7,000 to $34,000. The same line reclogged a week later and I had to pay someone else to clear it. None of the work they recommended would have solved the real problem. I needed a “Hero” and got a “Zero”Long story: I needed someone willing to do a small job and come out quickly. Rooter Hero fit the bill. That was about as good as it got. They advertised a $77 drain clearing special with the stipulations 1) up to 75 feet and 2) with proper access. A technician showed up on time. Before he could even get the auger set up on the second floor, a second technician showed up. I thought this was curious as it couldn't make economic sense to send two trucks and two technicians for $77. As nothing had been done yet, there was also no way for them to know if there would be an issue with the job.I had already removed the toilet, so the technician had access to the toilet flange. This seemed like proper access to me and he didn't say anything about it not being so. He was able to insert the auger with no additional prep work and the blockage was removed pretty quickly. He then told me the auger was stuck in the drain and had probably gone through a hole in the pipe. I would eventually find out that wasn’t true. It took only a relatively short amount of time to extract. At that point, they told me my 12-year old cast iron plumbing was in terrible shape and needed to be replaced. They decided to scope my outdoor drain line, showing me video of what looked pretty normal but declaring it ready to fail. They showed me no images of reduced pipe diameter, tree roots, cracks or anything else obvious to a somewhat knowledgeable and fairly handy homeowner.Having completed the work, the second technician then went to his van and produced a handwritten document with several options for me to consider. He asked me to sit down so we could discuss it. The options ranged from $7,211.77 to descale the sewer line, to $34,040.62 to descale and epoxy coat the drain plus replace 2 smallish sections of cast iron drains inside the house. To replace the drain system in one bathroom (which was accessible from the garage below) was $8,212.31. That seemed exorbitant for what looked to me like 1-2 days of work and a couple hundred dollars in materials. There was no detail whatsoever, just a sentenced followed by the very precise but random sounding price. I suspect the precision of the numbers was supposed to make them seem non-random.Technician: What do you want to do?Me: Think about it... what do I owed for the drain clearing?Technician: $409. Me: What happened to $77?Technician: You didn't have proper access.A little back and forth followed about what would constitute proper access. Pretty quickly (and quite oddly), he reverted back to $77. I paid the $77 and he left.A week later, the same drain clogged again. Although Rooter Hero guaranteed the work, I called another plumber who identified the real problem and told me he didn't think any of the other work Rooter Hero recommended actually needed to be done. Rooter Hero never called back to see how I wanted to proceed.In the background of all this was a lot of chaos at my house due to an unrelated burst water supply hose under my sink which had destroyed most of my floors (and provided easy access to the bathroom drain systems). I suspect the $409 fee and $34,000 estimate was a result of checking local property values and observing the distress we were already under. Again, they did (temporarily) clear the drain. Nice guys.

This is the second time I chose Rooter Hero, still super quick response and fair price.

Update: I was contacted by someone in the district attorneys office (due to this review) - I believe they were launching an investigation into the practices of Rooter Hero. Not sure what became of that investigation yet I'm thrilled to hear that our tax dollars are going to good use.Rooter hero arrived at my rental property to fix a simple plug at our washing machine drain. It should have been a quick $77 rooter yet - rooter hero decided to try and take advantage of a property owner that was out of town (Me) The manager explained that my pipes were old and there was a plug that was rock solid - snaking would not work / he offered a several thousand dollar pipe replacement which I declined - he followed up with a $700 power flush that he explained was the only way to clear the hard plug. The manager explained that the plug would not clear without a $700 power flush. They scheduled the $700 power flush on Monday afternoon. I flew into town on Monday morning before rooter hero arrived - I simply placed our garden hose in the washing machine drain and started running water - I quickly reached full hose flow with NO BACKUP AND NO BLOCKAGE. The $77 rooter service had worked fine . I crawled under my rental property and discovered that all of my pipes were updated abs and were in excellent shape ( rooterhero told me my pipes were old and needed replacement.)I called rooterhero and informed them that my pipes were working perfectly after the $77 snake service and wanted to know why they had demanded a $700 flushing service later that day. The manager seemed surprised that I was in town and that I knew my pipes were all updated . He quickly apologized and claimed it was all a big mistake . He instantly zeroed out my bill- no charge for snake or power flush - my entire service was free. They were worried I would report them for fraudulent activity. Long story short - rooter hero attempted to rip me off for several thousands of unneeded repair they reduced it to $700 of unneeded flushing. They ended up crediting me for all of their snaking services . Rooter hero should be shut down for fraud and misrepresentation. They prey on desperate consumers at their time of need - these guys are scum bags - don’t believe anything they say or recommend . I have documentation to prove all of my claims and welcome any challenge from this awful company

TLDR: David Sanchez is my HERO.I was panicking when I saw that my dishwasher wouldn't drain, my garbage disposal stopped working, and my kitchen sink wouldn't drain. I was scare that it would be a huge process of repairs. I called Rooter Hero Plumbing and they said a technician would be by THAT SAME DAY. Best of all, they will check what your issue is for free, give you an estimate, and only charge you if they actually need to do the work! I of course wanted the work done. I was lucky to get David Sanchez as my plumbing expert. He not only solved ALL OF THE ISSUES within 15 minutes, he also showed me what to look for in the future. He gave me tips for my garbage disposal, and told me how I can tell if it ever starts to go bad. He explained how my dishwasher drain system worked, and ran it so I could see how it drains. He found what was clogging my drain and put a strainer in my sink so that something large can never fall down my sink again! He was extremely knowledgeable, very nice, and respectful of my home (he wore a mask the whole time and those things you put over your shoes before coming inside). He also said if anything happens within 30 days, I can call the company and they will come out and check again and fix it. I now have everything working perfectly and I can't thank David Sanchez enough! Thank you Rooter Hero! I will only be using you from now on!

We were suspecting a water leaking situation on our ceiling. By the time we call, it was already evening so even thought we wanted someone to take a look at it ASAP, we were not expecting anyone to come right away. But the technician came and took a look at the issue. It turned out that hole was caused by someone punctured the ceiling long time ago and tried to hide it from the outside. Absolutely 5 stars.

Friendly and professional services . Eli was able to come out on New Year’s Day to help check on a clogged sewer. He was able to get everything done in two days. The staffs were nice and we were able to call and talk to them anytime. I highly recommend them if you ever had a problem.

Overpriced and not transparent.When I call them, they did not tell me there is a service fee of 95 dollar. Second, even though it is charged by the job, the pricing is not transparent, randomly 800+ is quoted for the job with no reference. Either you have to pay the service fee or pay to get the job done. Secondly, I understand the parts are not included, I asked for the receipt, it is less than 100 dollar for all the parts but they charge a mark up of 65 %+ for no reason and this was not upfront and clear to the customers. Lastly, I asked for coupon and discount, the worker said it does not apply, even though on the website, it clearly takes coupon. If you want to get a simple job done and charge over 1000, this is the place for it.

Called for an appointment to get my only shower fixed. I got one for two days later with a two hour time window. Two hours before the appointment they called and pushed it back for 2 days! I get not being able to guarantee a time but that’s what the window part of an appointment window is for. Pushing it back days right before the appointment window is unprofessional, inconsiderate of customers time and needs. If you can’t fit me in just tell me that upfront. Don’t schedule me and then be shady. If I can’t trust you to be honest about that why would I trust anything else you advise?

RooterHero does good work. The SMS text system is really convenient and efficient for scheduling appointments. My one caution: they can be very pricey on some jobs such as water heater replacements so consider getting other quotes if you have time. Otherwise, these guys are solid.

We had a serious issue with our sewer. Everything in the house that goes out to the sewer was backed up from the roots of the City tree on the front strip between the sidewalk and street.1st person to identify our issue was Eli. After all his hard labor he called in Freddie who showed Us all the options to get it done right. The 1st night we were running back to normal. After the crew managed to get to the blockage in the pipe, next day they replaced the sewer pipe and put in a new clean out in front of house.We just waited for the city Inspector to sign off and ourFront yard was back to normal thanks to Freddie and his wonderful crew.

Our water heater failed, partially flooding the garage. A RooterHero plumber, Ruben, just happened to be doing a plumbing job across the street. When I explained my problem, he immediately called his associate, Freddie. Even though it was late in the day, Freddie showed up a short time later to assess the situation, removed the old unit, and arranged to have a new water heater installed the next morning. Ruben showed up early the next morning, on time, and installed the new water heater very quickly. Both plumbers were very courteous and professional. I really liked that they kept me informed every step of the way and gave me a tutorial on caring for the new water heater. I have some other plumbing issues that will need to be taken care of and I will definitely be calling RooterHero.

We had someone come out cause my niece was washing her underwear in the tub and they went down the drain and clogged it. We got a flyer in the mail and it said free camera inspection but told us his didn't work but said he can try to snake it. I told him where I thought it was cause my sink and that tub go to the same drain and my sink was draining fine. He worked on it for about 45 min and said he couldn't get it and would have to take the pipe apart. His boss said 2000 and he said he could come after work and do it for 800. We passed and decided to try myself. Got it out with cheap home depot snake in 5 min. Be careful, either they are trying to take advantage or are not qualified.

After fixing that issue, we noticed that there was another leak under the toilet itself. He removed the toilet, replaced the wax seal and then reinstalled the toilet. Discovered some really bad work from the previous owner of my house that needed attention. I was quotes all over the board for repairs but RotoHero came in at a competitive rate and was very professional. The job ended up taking a few days longer to complete but the team was professional, courteous, wore their masks and took pictures of the repairs for my records. Definitely would recommend.

We had a great experience with these guys they were able to come out the same day we called. They worked hard on the first day to try and resolve our issue but when the couldn’t they were back promptly the next morning. When they told us we needed a new clean out at the front of our house they said we’d have to lose a mature Camilla bush near the steps to our front door. When I objected and asked if we couldn’t just cut it way back, they were willing to try and worked around it. Nothing but great things to say about Marco and the crew.

Jonathan Cerna came out two days to work on our plumbing. He was extremely patient with the fact that it took awhile to get the three sinks we have to unclog. John Alex came within one hour of calling for service. He quickly diagnosed the root cause issue of a clogged toilet as a being a clogged sewage line outside of the house. As luck would have it, the warranty on that line being replaced a year ago had expired two days ago! The good new is that John cleared the line and did not charge is for the repair. I believe most companies would have charged us since it was technically past the warranty period. Very experienced and pleasant person to interact with.

Had to fix drive way concrete but not sure if it’s caused by sewer pipe leak so I called Rooter Hero to inspect my sewer pipe. They arrived very quickly. With their equipment they could see no sewer pipe under the drive way and no damage in the sewer pipe. Great! Thanks for your excellent service! Before Rotor Hero could finish the job on my rental property, sent a guy ( could be independent contractor) named Jeff . He asked for more than $400 even without looking for my problem. I sent him back from home without letting him start the job. Called toll free number spoke to Lilly explained situation, suggested her to send the same guy who had serviced us before. She looked in my history and sent Jose within minutes.very cool and knowledgeable guy took only 15 minutes to fix the problem. He was on the way to next job after charging us bare minimum $77. Company has integrity and honored their warranty. Had a great experience initially with Juan and Adam a year or two ago when we had our install/replacement of existing piping, and when we had a minor issue recently, they came free of charge to fix it, and even helped with an issue that wasn’t their responsibility (we have uneven floors and our toilet was wobbling, and they added something underneath to level it out for us until we can get out floorboard fixed). Just to help us. Still no charge. The only negative was we had a hard time getting someone the first two times we called the office (more recently), but when we did get through today, they came out the same day and the field super (Sal) gave us his card and said we could call direct anytime and he’ll get someone right out if we ever need them again. Good company, great employees.

Rootor Hero came out to rescue my house on a Sunday I might add. Marco came out and looked over his options. I had two toilets that backed up, one in a bath tub the other one in a shower. They were on the same side of the house. There was no trap to use for these to snake out the blockage. He decided to take off the toilet in the rear of the house to snake the sewer line. It took some time and patients to complete the job, but he stayed with it and succeeded in removing the blockage. Marco then re-installed the toilet and cleaned up everything. A job well done!! I would rate his job 5 Stars.Also I did call a few other plumbers and they all stated they could not make an appointment until a few days out. Rooter Hero listened to my problem and made an appointment for Sunday the next day at 9:00 am. They were on time and did a great job. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of service.

They were quick and easy to work with. Our shower had unfortunately broke and the water kept running. They were able to quickily send someone out to fix it. Everyone at the desk, such as Nancy and Robert were so lind and helpful, to the technician Humberto. He was able to quickly, safely, and professionally fix our shower.

The technician arrived well within the specified time, was knowledgeable, courteous and quick to solve my problem. He also provided me with recommendations of preventative measures that should be taken without being pushy or trying to get me to agree to anything I wasn't prepared to have done then and there. RH refitted our main sewer line 3 years ago. They did a great job and I got them back today (we bought a 5 year warranty) to scope the pipe and check there weren't any issues. They were on time, quick and professional. No problems found.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. unless you are super rich and do not care about your money and your time.I used this company to fix one shower handle in April 2021, and it broke down in July 2021. I called them again and they priced me for 3000 dollars because they need to tear down the wall! I called another technician, and it took him 2 hours to fix it without touching the wall! and he told me 2 parts were missing that's why it is broken again. And they didn't apply seal after they finished last time. From the details, you know the technician from Rooter Hero is not responsible, not professional, simply not care about fixing the program for customer, bad experience, will never use it again. Again, do not use them.

I've used there service before and had a good experience. However this time it has been a bit painful. Called around 12 on Sat. Was told between 4-6pm and they were not here until 830pm. Our bypass for water softener was shot as a temporary fix solder a new point so we have water to the house. He cut the pipping however he wasn't able to solder a new point. Before we had at least the front yard hose. Now we have to shut the main line because of the pip is left open. He was a nice guy but I have no water. Waiting for someone to come in today, Sunday between 9-11. It's 1052.... No one showed up. The technician was nice to follow up to see if anyone showed up. Very disappointed but the experience but the technician was professional and nice but aside from that I probably won't be calling this company again.

Nick, David, and Gerry did a fantastic job for our condo area. The main drain pipe for our building became damaged from some other company that was trusted to do work, but they did the damage and covered it up without telling anyone. A week later we noticed severe draining problems in our units, then Nick was called onsite. He was able to diagnose this problem by the next day. David and Gerry joined the party to dig up 6+ feet under to repair the problem that was created, then fill in the ground again. Within 24 hours, we had drainage and water restored to our facility. I cannot thank these guys enough. The pipes have been running perfectly ever since.

Very professional, great response time, and very knowledgeable. I was in a tough position as I needed it fixed right away so the price went up to almost $2500 very quickly. They replaced 10” of PVC. I checked around today and could have gotten the work done for much less but other than price they were perfect.

I would give 0 star if I can. Terrible company from technicians to the supervisor.The customer service would set up the same day appointment with you but the technician will never show up. Do not believe technician will show up late evening and weekend.My first appointment was May 13 6-8 pm and the technician show on May 14 noon. This is my investment and tenants has a clogged toilet. Technician called me and said it would cost me $329 to fix. I told him I have other plumber came before charged me $150. He immediate matched the price for $179 and said my pipes have problem if I want to pay extra to use camera. I said no camera but I did not tell the technician I did it with other plumber and nothing wrong with the pipes. After the technician finished he told me there is 3 months warranty. On Aug. 1, my tenant called me he has same problem. The second technician showed up on Aug 3 to fix the clog. Less than 2 weeks, Aug. 15, my tenant called me again and said same problem came back.This time I requested to talk to the supervisor because I was dissatisfied with the service. The supervisor called me back, OMG this is the worst person I ever talked. He kept saying my pipes have a problem when the technician told me to repair. I asked him your technician never checked my pipes how do you know my pipes have a problem. Then he said your warranty is over you need to pay to do the service again. I can not believe this is license plumbers and their job just lasts 3 months. I am out of my warranty for 1 day.

Friday evening our garbage disposal broke. I called in for help around 8:30 pm. Next morning 9 am the technician showed up promptly. The issue was fixed by 9:30.Happy customer!

My first choice LRS plumbing they were no call no show. My dilemma started at 9 PM concerned that it was a safety issue they came out right away turn the unit off and said they would be out the following morning at 9o’clock and they were. I will use them again should I need them and I will recommend them several of my neighbors have already inquired.

We had two bad experiences with other rooter companies sent by the warranty company. I decided to hire my own rooter service and found out Rooter Hero, San Jose through Google. I am so impressed with their service. Very professional, they solved the issue for me with real surprisingly good price, even though they worked a really long time, and stayed almost 8:45pm. I really enjoyed the professionalism and knowledge that JohnAlex and his team have. My grandparents had a major back up in their home. They called Rooter Hero and Within 30mins JohnAlex came by and helped solve their issue. I ended up stopping by to help my grandparents. We ended up having their specialist Sal come and camera the sewer line and the scene was not pleasant. They gave us multiple options to fix the issue for band aid fix to permanent. We choose the middle option they offered. The price was definitely a little higher then others but What stood out more was each person was friendly and kept their promises, Also they made sure the work area was cleaned and even power washed the stuck on dirt and mud. Our kitchen sink got clogged in the night and I called the 24x7 help line for an appointment. They gave me 9 to 11 window, but I requested an appointment as soon as possible. Then the tech called me in the morning at 6:30 and had someone come over a little after 8.Jose arrived on time and fixed the problem pretty quickly. He fixed the issue and also walked us through the problem and told us how we can check and a few things the next time we experience the same issue.Jose

The team is really courteous, but I’m not sure if all of the work they performed was absolutely necessary and I’m 100% positive I payed 30% more than I would have with an independent plumber (because I was given an estimate by another plumber). Their technology was helpful but make sure to get a 2nd opinion and a counter estimate on any work over a few thousand dollars.

I have used other companies in the past and have never had a good experience. Marco was able to assist me and and fix my issue in a timely manner all while being professional and representing the company in the best light.

My vintage sink (original from when house built) was saved: pipe replaced after tricky snake and cutting pipe to connect to sink. Plumber was early, went to nearby ACE for unexpected parts, and gave explanations thoroughly of job. Advice given for future jobs at my request, with reasonable estimates , at my request. Victor was not only very kind, personable and professional but he was a fast worker, and he did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. I appreciated that he wore booties in the house as well. These guys are like a bunch of used car salesmen. I had a water heater problem and when these guys showed up, they immediately pointed that need to replace a whole new water heater costing 4k, without even running any diagnostic testing on the water in bathrooms. Then when I refused to do it, the guy got all upset and just kept trying to sell me on all sorts of other stuff which doesn’t even fix the root cause of problem. Turns out I found another more honest plumber nearby who got the job done without having to replace new unit. Strongly don’t recommend this place.

Foolishly attempted to replace a faucet on my own, on a Sunday, and got stuck halfway. John ‘Alex’ Gonzalez from Rooter Hero came to the rescue. It only took about 45 min from the time I called dispatch for someone to get to our house, which is seriously great considering it was Sunday. The old faucet nut was stuck on in a such a way that Alex had to try 10 different ways to remove it. He had the patience of a saint. I couldn’t be happier with the high quality level of service, not to mention speediness. They don’t call them “Hero” for nothing! Saved their info to my permanent contacts for future rescues.

BIG THANKS to Freddy Ponce and to Rooter Hero!So I called one of the 5 star established plumbers about my stopped up bathtub drain. They came out, took off the drain access cover in the side of the tub and pulled it up to show me how old it was, pointing out that I had really old pipes that were likely rusted. So, they suggested replacing the pipes ($2100!) and said that snaking the drain probably wouldn't work (and would cost me ~$350!). I said no thank you.A bit apprehensive, I picked up the $77 coupon for a Drain Cleaning from Rooter Hero. Would the low price equate to low quality? Would I regret it later? I figured I'd give it a chance, and a few hours later Freddy arrived. He was super friendly, assessed the situation, gave me my options, and let me know that the cleaning would be warrantied for 90 days. I gave him the thumbs up to start the work. One of the snakes kinked and got stuck, due to the U-shape of the drain (which the expensive 5 star place didn't want to attempt), so he let me know he was going to try again. He kept at it, and finally let me know he was done. At this point, I'd set my expectations low, that it wouldn't be cleared. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to a tub full of water, and he released the drain plug, and it all flowed down quickly!THANK YOU FREDDY! For your expertise and your persistence!!!

Despite the length of time (see note below) it took to complete the project, I am leaving a 5 rating due to the service we received. I want to give a big thanks to Juhuru who followed up on all issues as well as Sal who explained everything that needed to be done to us in layman's terms and in detail.What started out as what we thought was a simple sewer back up turned out to be a major problem. We had much needed clean out valves installed on this 50+ year old home.If the clean out valves had been installed the original problem would have be a simple fix.The length of time was not entirely Rooter Heroes fault as once the clean out valves were installed the City took a long time to do the inspections.Thanks again to Juhuru, Sal and all the others who worked to get our plumbing projects corrected

I had Mario come out from Rooter Hero Plumbing of San Jose and job well done! My window was on a Saturday from 10:00 - 12:00 he showed up around 11:30 and I did not pay extra because of a Saturday service call. He Snaked my clog sink, recommended what not to put in the sink 45 minutes he was done and cleaned up afterwards. All for $77 w/Coupon. Happy Customer!

This was a horrible experience. We have used this company before and gave them 5 stars but will be changing that review on yelp shortly as we feel they probably ripped us off BIG time (shame on us).We called them out for a noise we were hearing. They said there was air in the pipes calling it water hammer and suggested we put in new valves behind the washer. To do this they had to make holes in the wall. They said it would be $3000. Foolishly we agreed. The guy worked on it all day and when he went to turn the water back on he forgot to turn off the valves in the laundry room and water shot out into the laundry and kitchen onto the hard wood floors. We spent the next 2 weeks with blowers in our kitchen and laundry room 24 hours a day to try and dry the floors. Talk about an inconvenience !!But wait...it gets better. After all this the noise was still there!!! They then wanted to put in a pressure valve for another $1000. At this point we decided to get a second opinion. We had another plumber come and within an hour he had gone under the house, found and fixed the problem and only charged us $140.00. We have had no problem since.We feel this company rips you off and charges way too much and their technicians are not well trained.Run as fast as you can.

For clearing clogged drains this outfit is great. For $77 we clearing my shower. Just dont plan on using them for things like valve stem replacement at $700 or washer replacement at $250.They arrived with short notice, were polite and clean. They also cleaned up nicely.

I don't know what to say when he broke the cleanout pipe. He said that it was rust. I mentioned to go thru the kitchen pipe. Somehow heput it back but I'm not sure it wouldn't leak. I will inspect to see for what sort of course I need to take. I'm updating my comment when Ron from ROOTER HERO called this morning about my concern and told me to send out an inspector for my concern. Danny and Jason came by, inspected, and repaired the pipe to my full satisfaction. What a professional service! Yes, they gave me a confident and reliable service that I will call them again for my future plumbing needs.

The dispatcher was conscientious in updating us on the tech's arrival time, which we appreciated. Jose listened to what we had done, then explained what he would do to diagnose our problem. With replacing the cast iron plumbing under the house, Juan showed us the pipes from the house to the sidewalk (city), which was almost totally closed.Jose with his team of Angel and Hector were diligent and courteous. Bathroom faucet, toilet replacement and repair dishwasher drain and bathtub stopper turned into new exit and sewer pipes under the house and out to the city streets. I came home from work on 5/30/19 to a kitchen sink with waste water backing up into it. I called 2 others before Rooter Hero. They had no one available that night. Turns out that was lucky for me. Jason was great. Confident and competent. He showed up in what looked like a freshly pressed shirt, clean hands, looking very professional. I live in a highrise building, so to access my kitchen sink's drain pipe, he had to work under the sink. It took 3 tries to finally clear the blockage. 3+ hours later, 1030 PM, black gunk up to his elbows, smudges on his face and head, sweaty, tired, Jason cleaned the kitchen area even better than it was before. I have had this problem 3 times in the past 4 years. I will be calling Rooter Hero from now on for all my plumbing issues and will hope I get Jason.

I woke up one morning to find one of the ribbed copper pipes leaking; the floor was covered in water. The owner of the company came out with one of his employees to assess the problem. The rubber pipe was welded to the copper pipe on one side with a fitting on the other. The job was extremely pricey.The real problem arose when we needed to relight the pilot light. Initially they said to let it dry out. So, we did so for a couple of days, but the pilot light would still not light. Our water heater is 9 years old, so when I asked if they could relight it because the igniter didn't seem to work, he replied that because it is 9 years old they do not do that and said that we would need to spend $3000.00+ on a new hot water heater.I called another company and they came out to look at it and said that the only thing wrong with the water heater was that the igniter switch is faulty. In the meantime, they took a lighter to light the pilot light so we could have hot water till they could locate the part.As far as responsiveness, this company is great. Where another company required a day appointment window to fit me in, this company came out within 45 minutes. However, everything else about this company is sorely lacking. They don't complete a job and are looking for the big bucks. Their customer service, which includes what the customer needs in order to resume life with the impact to their daily routine is non-existent.This other company got us going with just a quick consultation, and we'll likely give the guy that came out a few hundred dollars for his hospitality. I would give Rooter one more penny from this point forward. I advise everyone to stay far away from them.

I called Rooter Hero due to an embarrassing operator (me) error ... Victor showed up and showed me everything was working, cleaned up around the drain, helped to put a mushroom hair stopper in, and refused any token of appreciation. He’s professional, neat, and considerate, I will certainly use Rooter Hero again.

Matthew Sanchez, Field Supervisor, and David Herb, Technician, of Rooter Hero Plumbing of San Jose, successfully cleared a very difficult blockage of our toilet plumbing. They worked all Saturday afternoon and late into the evening to push their snake from an upstairs toilet through horizontal pipes and down along a wall into the sewer inlet. The blockage did not clear despite their success in reaching the sewer. Not to be deterred they returned on a subsequent day, repeated the procedure for no extra charge, and cleared the blockage. They were extremely neat and careful of our home, always taking care to use booties and to keep the bathroom clean and dry. We recommend them highly.

The tech came in and got busy working on our toilet. He was clean and efficient and knowledgeable about the problem. Fixed what he could and shared what he thought we might also do to effect a better out come.

I had a problem with our kitchen drain over the weekend not draining. I had this same problem last year but was able to clear it up by checking the garbage disposal, the p-trap, and running a drain pipe auger through the pipe line. This time I encountered a blockage in the pipe line as I ran the auger. I called Rooter Hero this morning and the customer service person confirmed my appointment for today and within an hour from when the servicemen contacted me he was here ready to clear up the problem. Eddie was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions as he tended to his business of clearing the pipe line. The water from the kitchen sink is now running through! This company has 6 complaints with the contractor state licensing board. The complaints are for violations of the business and professions code, failure to obtain permits, misrepresentation to obtain contract. They have been referred to legal action on two of the cases. Please research all contractors before hiring anyone. Here is how their scam works. You have a sewer back up at an inconvenient time. Rooter hero comes out to snake the drain the service is only $89.00. They put a snake down the drain partially and make a horrific amount of noise it takes a good 20 minutes of the noise. Then the rep will tell you he also put a camera down the pipe and you have a seperated pipe and he cannot clear the drain. You will need a re-pipe and it will cost between $3500 and up to $12,000 depending on if you are a woman, elderly, or disabled. If you tell them to get off your property they will try to charge and additional 200 to 300 for the camera of which you will not see any equipment nor can they produce pictures. And if you call another company to come out for under $150.00 in 10 minutes your pipe will be cleared.SAVE YOUR TIME AND SANITY CALL SOMEONE ELSE.

They said someone would be here between 10:00 &to 12:00...then it changed..12:00 to 2:00...then again 2:00 to 4:00!..we spent all day waiting for this guy!..he finally rolled in at 5:00...we found out they were located in Hayward..39 miles away!..They need to have a limit on how far they will travel...we would've gladly paid more to have someone come to our home who was located closer...we weren't aware that they were so far away!...live and learn..

I live in a building with 8 units. Saturday evening we got in touch with Rooter Hero and they stayed until 11pm looking for the cause of a sewage blockage affecting the entire building. During the investigation, something was obstructing their drain snake so they had to return with a camera. 9am Sunday was the soonest that could happen. David, Nick and Jeronimo were there from 9am to 6pm Sunday manually cutting up the asphalt and digging a hole at least 5’ deep to replace a piece of pipe in the sewer lateral that was crushed due to earlier construction work (by a different company). They were very professional the whole time and they met their estimate of being finished by EOD Sunday. Would not hesitate to call them for any plumbing work again - inside or outside the building.

I had a drain clogged in the tub and shower. Plunging did not work so I needed professional help. I called at 6:30 and RH sent someone out at 7:30. The problem was diagnosed, I was presented options, and the work was completed quickly and at a reasonable cost. If I have a clog, I will call RH.

Our problem (Pipe leaking) was solved very quickly and their response was very quick and organized. However, the other man came while the guy was repairing our pipes and he found another problem. I agreed to fix that one and he said it took 4-5 hours to repair them. However it took 9 HOURS to fix them. They shut down our water so we couldn’t use water for 9 hours. The guy who found that problem gone leaving the workers and no followed up or supervised anything until I texted him that the workers were still working at 9pm. They finished that at midnight!!! They should have explained to us what was going on after they were still working past 7 or 8 o’clock.

Called them to fix drainage issue in bathtub, it wasn’t draining the water.They came to check if they can fix the issue and estimated the price of $224. It was little higher than others but I heard its big company so I decided to go with them.However, after like 20 mins they came in saying that they couldn’t fix the issue and telling me that I’ll still have to pay. I told them you guys told me that you could fix and that’s why you inspected in first place and now you’re asking me to pay without resolving the issue.J didn’t want to argue much so they ended up ripping me off!!! Never call them again and will spread the word around!!

Rooter Hero could not get the problem fixed. He called someone else from the come and they wanted almost $3000 to Hydro flush. I thought this was an extreme amount to charge. So I called a plumber, he came out and used his snake and fixed the problem. I am planning on calling this company and asking for my money back. I would never ever recommend using them

Today we had Johnny Casteada (sp?) come to unclog our sewer drain. He arrived on time as couldnt have been more professioal and polite. He was very fast and efficient and cleaned up the job after he repaired the pipe. We felt the price charged was fair and Johnny went over the cost before starting the work. In today's world Johnny's are hard to come by.

I had a clog to my laundry sink. I called Roto hero because I got their coupon saying $77 to unclog any drain. A plumber came to my place, he didn’t honor the coupon and said because he needed to open the pipe to get the snake in, he would need $175. I agreed that price. He tried to snake the pipe but couldn’t go through. He said he would need to go to the crawl space to see what is wrong and will need $390 to just check (not including fixing the problem). How can you see the problem in crawl space if you can’t snake through a pipe! I told him I didn’t need him to look, he was willing to take $77 and leave. He didn’t fix anything. I paid him $77 and called Marti plumbing. Plumber from marti plumbing unclog the pipe in 15 minutes. I called rooyet and asked for a refund. They said a supervisor will call me back. It has been 6 hours, I haven’t got any callback yet.

Inexpensive drain cleaning, but of course, they try and upsell you. The technician wanted me to get a Hydrojet flushing, but I passed as they wanted $600 for this service and I think it can be purchased for less.

In the morning they showed up and quoted me $1,400.00 to repair a broken pipe that I had already found the leak and had dug up. After getting their price I went to several stores and found the parts. Once I had the parts it took me one hour to repair it myself and I’m not a plumber. Parts cost was $45.00 including the sledgehammer I purchased to brake the concrete. And they still charged me $100.00 because they came by the night before. Ripoff is an understatement. I can provide the before and after pictures.

Freddy was very polite and explained everything to me, they were on time and did the job fast. I really like that they didn’t try to push me into buying any other services or products that weren’t needed at this time, I appreciate that so much! Thanks Guys!

I believe we were over charged. This company had to replace all sewage pipes and one day and 15,000 seem like way to much but my parents are elderly and we could spend the time searching and getting appraisal with others. Once done with plumbing our toilets don’t flush right. Called them out and they said there was something plugging one toilet and now it’s fixed. Still not flushing correctly and plugs up.When the entire job was complete plumber told us job needs to be inspected by San Jose City for approval. They gave us a date and never showed up. I continued to call throughout the day and never got a return call.I would not recommend this plumbing service not even for a leak!

Now have called 2 times. Showed up. Did work. No whining. No extra selling. And did not charge for an item that could not do. You should call. As I will call them again.

They came out and fixed my clogged toilet fast and efficiently. Not only that the price was reasonable. Hopefully my daughter won't clog the toilet again but if she does I know who I'm calling.

This is a shady operation and a scam at best. First you call a call center somewhere else in the state. Then they promised me a time between 11:00 and 1:00 the next day. I get a call a 1/2 hour before they are supposed to show up saying they want to reschedule for later in the day. I ask if they are really going to show up or if they are just buying time, she put me on hold and confirmed it would be no later than 1:30. They never showed up so I called them again. They said they had no technicians available but I was next on the list. I asked what that meant and she said, she couldn't tell me. All she could say was that no techs were available and I was next. I pressed her on the issue and she said maybe between 4:00 and 5:00 but she couldn't guarantee anything. I told her this was a scam, completely unprofessional and if their scheduling was anything like their work, they shouldn't be in business. DONT USE THIS COMPANY! Outfits like this don't deserve to be in business and are representative of an old and outdated way of doing business. What if I gave them a check and said it might be good in a few days but I couldn't guarantee it. Find a reputable company instead.
