In August of 2018 I purchased a townhome in Molalla, Oregon. During the home inspection, a belly was identified in the sewer line, which allowed for 20+ feet of standing water and grease to remain in the pipe. The sellers agreed to have the sewer repaired prior to closing on the sale of the home. The sellers, unknowingly to me, hired River City Environmental (RCE) to complete the sewer repair and entered into contract with them. It was later explained to me the sellers did not have liquid cash on hand to pay for the work, so an agreement was made between them and RCE to pay for the job with the proceeds of the home post-closing. Unfortunately, the sellers never paid RCE for the work they had done.
For the past three years I have received periodic demand notices from RCE for payment owed to them by the sellers they went into contract with. After receiving each demand letter, either myself or my realtor reached out to RCE to explain the situation, and how I did not order the work, did not sign any contract for the work, and that I purchased the house after the work had been completed. Each time RCE’s response has been they were just trying to make waves in hopes the sellers would do the right thing and pay their outstanding bill. RCE representatives have even suggested to me that I contact the sellers, who are complete strangers to me, and put pressure on them myself. The representative also told me they found I was liable to pay the outstanding bill because I, “Benefited from the work that was done.” Once again, I did not order the work to be done by RCE, did not know who the sellers hired to do the work, and did not sign any contract with RCE to have the work done. Everything was ordered by the sellers as a condition of the sale.
I no longer own the home in Molalla, and have since moved. RCE has tracked myself and my family to our new residence to issue the latest demand notice. They are stalking me despite knowing I am not the party they went into contact with.
As of today (6/14/2023) I have been served with paperwork from the Small Claims Department of Multnomah County, Oregon. RCE has listed the sellers, their realtor, my realtor, and myself as defendants in a $10,512 lawsuit. RCE is intentionally choosing to ignore the facts of who they entered the contract with and are now attempting to drag uninvolved parties through the court system. Their behavior is unethical and unbecoming of a professional business.

Jeff, his crew, and the office staff did a GREAT job from start to finish with our Navien hot water heater & putting in a new line for our circulating pump-- they solved and corrected a problematic attempt made by a prior handyman which had left us with a mess of tangled pipes and tubes but inconsistent hot water. They were easy to communicate with, made an accurate & thorough assessment of the issue, gave us several reasonable options, answered all our questions, and then coordinated with the demo company needed for the in-wall access. The job was done quickly, tidily, and effectively! Crew was friendly and did an organized & professional job (and cleaned up their work space perfectly). Everything was completed 100% as we hoped, in an efficient time frame, and for a very reasonable cost (exactly in line with their original estimate). We are happy to finally have normal hot water access in our kitchen and bath again! Would hire them again anytime & they will be my first call for any future plumbing needs.

Ryan HL2049 was extremely helpful when I moved into my new home and had to call him twice in a week and half. He not only gave me good advice but was able to get the problem solved and gave me some solutions to make sure it did not happen again. I appreciated his professionalism and kind demeanor!

They came over to check for a possible leak but didn’t find any despite being very thorough. They checked all the faucets, under the sink, toilets, and even in the crawl space under the house. Explained while showing me the water meter dial as to how they determined there was no leakage. Very professional and courteous. Wore shoe covers inside the house.

Steve answered my call and knew right away what I was dealing with. We made an appointment for the next day and he came in and unclogged my soapstone utility drain in less than 30 min which made me very happy! Hands down, the best service I have come across in a long time. That seems hard to come by these days... I've worked with contractors before and this was a completely different experience. Honestly, I was waiting to get hit with a huge quote but it was actually really reasonable and there were even a few different options they had for me to chose from. They took care of the job right away and were very professional. Good guys and I would highly recommend them.

Warm and friendly small business plumbing outfit (I prefer small/medium businesses over bigger ones) that was recommended to me from a commercial plumber and I very pleased with my decision to have work done by this company, Linda emailed me the quote and receipt for my records and happy to say In the end, the quoted price was the same as the actual price.

When looking for repairs to you home honesty is the most important thing. I have done business with him three different times in less than a year. He has always taken time for me and delivered on what he said he would do.

My kitchen drain had a hole in it and leaked into my basement ceiling. It was hard to find any plumber that would come out in the next couple days because they all seemed to be booked until after the 30th. THANKFULLY I found Paul's Plumbing online and made a call! Paul was super nice and was able to have someone come out the next day! I feel terrible cause I forgot the guy's name but he was SUPER nice and did an amazing job!!!! He informed me on everything that needed to be done and if he had to leave to get more parts. I love the work Paul's team did and will definitely use them again! They had great prices too!!!!

Our plumber not only repaired our issue he recommended a repair that would cause the issue not to happen again. In the short term it was an additional expense but in the long term it will save us money - thus costing them business. This is the kind of recommendation that technicians will not always offer and I appreciate that he did it!

Eric did a full system plumbing inspection for my house. He was helpful, patient when my toddler was being a handful, and even taught me how to fix something I’d been trying to figure out myself. This is a great company. Everyone I’ve worked with from the schedulers to the inspectors have been helpful and professional.

Simpson Plumbing replaced a hose bib that froze and cracked over the winter. They replaced it, added a turn-off valve inside the house and now it all works well. Thank you!

Came in our home without a mask. I tild him I just had surgery and he didn't care. Was super load and constantly spoke over us when we tried to explain anything. Very erragant. Needs to be a lot more professional.
