We utilized this company for a real estate transaction and they were able to scope out the sewers. However, when we asked them to also scope the rain drains we did not hear anything for several days. When we asked for a report they sent us a blurry hand drawn photo. After repeated requests for a report I finally called the office manager Cindi. Cindi did not know how to upload videos via e-mail nor had she checked any of her recent company e-mails. At this point David decided to very rudely respond back to myself and our realtor. Take your business elsewhere.

I wanted to check the condition of the cast iron drainage pipes under the concrete basement of my 60 year old house. David was able to visually inspect all the lines under the house and most of the way to the septic tank via the vents on the (low pitch) roof. He found that everything was in good shape with the exception of a couple of lines that needed cleaning.
David, and his assistant, did an excellent job for a very nice price.

David and his crew installed about 100ft of new sewer line for us using bursting technique to replace badly deteriorated orangeburg pipe.

We got a response to our bid request within a day. The bid was the lowest we received.

David consistently picked up by the third ring or answered my texts within a few minutes every time throughout the process. Everything was done on the promised dates or earlier. My personal online calendar was updated with start times and who on his crew would be responsible for the various aspects of the job. Really efficient.

He shifted his schedule to fit us in to meet our real estate closing date, even to the extent of showing up on Sunday afternoon to get a head start. In spite of a couple of challenges they were all done and cleaned up the next day. By end of day I had a confirmation sewer scope video, was billed and paid the balance of the bill online.

And he has a competent, friendly crew - just nice guys that got the job done. They tolerated my curiosity well.

A quick update: The city inspected the sewer this morning (day after work completion). I was watching the inspector walking away after the inspection when David's email with the inspection sign-off report landed in my inbox, An inspection report within 5 minutes of sign-off! This guy is organized!

If you ever need any kind of plumbing resolution whether it be a minor or major problem, do not hesitate for even a minute to contact this company: Sewer Renewal Specialists out of Tigard, Oregon. I contacted them yesterday and am so grateful that I did. This company was phenomenal is diagnosing and fixing my plumbing problem which caused a flood in my basement area. As busy as plumbers traditionally are on Monday mornings, the owner of the company himself, David Hefley, after listening to the desperation in my voice mail message, came to my house and immediately began to resolve the issue. I have never seen anyone move so quickly and purposefully to find and repair the issue so that my house could once again be completely restored for use of all plumbing. David is a smart, analytical person who works at lightning speed while being able to think, converse and act effectively to get the job done. He also has a great sense of humor, something that I think is an asset for the line of work he does! I bet there will come a time that most homeowners like myself will require the help of a professional plumber to step in and get a problem fixed. You don't have to look any further and just call this company. You will be happily relieved that you did.

Awesome company! We had a very difficult sewer pipe repair project and David responded quickly and gave us a very fair estimate to complete based on drawings from public works. He was able to start within a week. During the project we found the city drawings were not accurate and our pipe was almost twice as long as expected. We live in a 1940s home in uptown Vancouver that was having sewer problems. We had multiple sewer backups into our basement that was really getting frustrating. We had several plumbers come out and tell us our old pipes were collapsing and being infiltrated with tree roots. Their solution was to dig up our whole backyard and replace the pipes - that were about 9 feet down in some places. The cost of this? Over $15,000 and we would be left with a ruined backyard and the cost to replace all the established trees and landscaping. We started to search for another solution. In our search we came across David at Sewer Renewal. He came out and discovered some things that we didn't know and worked with our neighbors (whom we shared a line behind our house) to do a multi-house job. David and his team were professional and problem solvers. When the first way didn't work they found a second way to fix the problem. They worked with the city of Vancouver to determine which lines to fix and which the city was responsible for while giving us top quality value. Sewer lines are not exciting but what is exciting is knowing we won't be getting back ups into our basement and that our home is resellable in the future. The job went fine, they showed up when they said they would, did what they said they were going to do, for the price quoted. If it was not for the fact that the sewer worked when they left you never would have known they had been here.

The transaction was so unremarkable that when they sent me a request for this review almost a year and a half after we did business I had to check my records to see what they even did. That is how little I have thought about the transaction, or the work since. When you have worked with a few bad contractors over the years so unremarkable I hardly remember them is a ringing endorsement.

I had 3 companies bid relining of my sewer drain pipe. Some companies charged for scoping and estimating the work. Sewer renewal specialists did not charge to scope the pipe even without any specific issues.

Sewer Renewal Specialists was the only one that quoted the full length of the pipe to the sewer main under the street. The other 2 companies assured me (incorrectly) that my responsibility ended at the curb.

Although the work didn't need to be done right away it was a relief to take care of the issues before it became an emergency.

They under-promised and over delivered. I was told the work would take about 8 hours. It was done in just over 5 hours.

William and Taylor were friendly, informative, and communicated progress regularly during the work.

After getting a $1600 flat fee for clearing our clogged sewer line, I decided to call a company that could fix our onqoing problem with a lining of our 60 year-old cast iron pipes. I was pleased to find out that the owner, David, would come out the next morning and give us a bid on re-sleeving the existing pipe and clean out the current clog at the same time. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful at clearing the clog, so he gave us a referral to Retro Drain Cleaning. David did not charge us and said he would come back out again after the drain was cleared to hydro-jet the entire sewer line and give us a bid for the relining of the pipe, again at no charge. He said we could then decide if we wanted to have the work done. Our choice would be to continue paying drain cleaners to clear the clog every 1 or 2 years, or have Sewer Renewal do the work with a 20 year guarantee. As of today, we now have an unclogged sewer line and have contacted David to come out and give us the estimate. More to come. He is scheduled for tomorrow for a bid to fix us permanently!

Clogged washer drain on an old mid century ranch. 1 regular plumber, and a drain specialist company couldn't clear the drain. I do believe they were both decent outfits, but they didn't know where the drain went, and the drain specialist recommended a very expensive and intrusive re-routing solution. David came out with a camera and locator to do a 2nd opinion estimate - no charge, very nice! Quoted a much less intrusive solution at least half the price of the previous quote, because he had the skill/tools & desire to figure out the drain system. Still, I asked him if he thought they could cut the galvy drain line in the laundry room to get a better/straight shot with a snake and a cutter head. He thought it was worth a try before doing the major job. Bingo, they did it and cleared the drain, working very well again. It may need the drain line work down the line someday on this old house, we'll see how it goes, but I will definitely be calling them for the major repair if and when. Love the idea of the pipe liner/renewal option for sewer lines. It is always refreshing to find a business like this. Old Portland style quality/value. Call them for sewer or drain clog quotes, you will quickly pick up on the difference.

We had a plumber out because we were sure there was a backup. Drain Hound came out and It took him 5 hours of trying to find that out that our pipes had broken. He gave us this company as a recommendation, and we are so glad we did! This company is professional and polite, but best of all they are very knowledgeable and fast! Fixed and back up and draining in 1 and 3/4 days. Great company and even gave us a military discount!

We had a very good experience with Sewer Renewal Specialists on a cure-in-place sewer repair. The crew foremen we're very proactive, arriving a few days early to mark the various site lines and prepare their crew. When they arrived to perform the work, they were fast, organized and their communications were very clear. Finally, their cleanup was great. They left our yard looking mostly as it was, with the exception of an agreed upon shrub removal, and even sprinkled grass seed on a minor gouge in the grass. Thank you all for fixing our house!

We live in Tigard and had a problem with wastewater bubbling up from a crack in the street away from our property (March 2020). We're responsible for over 200' of sewer lateral, most of it under the City street. The thought of dealing with digging up the road was really unappealing. David from Sewer Renewal was really responsive and invested in helping us. He arrived quickly, helped diagnose the problem, and set us up with a repair. The team arrived, took care of everything, and got us back in service really quickly and at a very reasonable cost. Dealing with sewer problems is never fun, but these guys will take good care of you. I highly recommend giving them a call before you look at other, more invasive solutions.

We randomly had our sewer back up. We called out a competitor to clear the blockage (we wish we had known about sewer renewal specialists right off the bat). They told us we had a tree root grow through our sewer line. They quoted us an astronomical price to repair the line. We decided to get another quote and luckily our friends recommended sewer renewal specialists. They were excellent to deal with from first contact. Excellent and prompt communication. Gave us great advice and was able to repair our sewer line quickly. We cannot recommend sewer renewal specialist highly enough. Hopefully we don’t have another sewer line issue but if we do Sewer Renewal will be our first and final call.

Oh man! This guy was a life saver! The price was ALOT better then the multiple other places I called! He was super friendly and professional. He explained everything that was going on, very easy to talk too. He had what I thought was a crisis completed within 30 minutes! I literally could not have asked for a better plumber he was friendly professional and not annoyed by my nosey dog. Nothing but good things to say. The original work was done in a timely manner and done well. They came out to CCTV the line quickly and got us scheduled for a few weeks out. Work was completed on time. Communication was great. Everything was perfect. Then my neighbor had issues on our shared lateral and I called David to ask if my repair could have impacted their connection. He came right out on his anniversary (Happy Anniversary!) and checked the line, ensuring he didn't cause the damage, and even helped my neighbors diagnose where their issue was. He came right out and said these are the things that would keep me up at night, I just had to be sure it wasn't something I did. Awesome service and he truly cares about his business and customers. David (the owner) came out to scope my sewer. He was on-time, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient! And generally good natured on top of all that - it was very pleasant to chat with him as he worked to diagnose the problem. The equipment he's using is top notch - great camera view, bluetooth, I got to watch while it was being scoped. He quickly found where the break in the sewer line was (on City of Portland's side) and so... it's actually out of our hands, they have to repair it, and he will send the video to the City. Cleanup was fast, not smelly (I mean, sewer line, you expect a little bit), and just well done. So even though this repair is on the City to do the work, I would happily work with David in the future, and encourage others to talk to Sewer Renewal Specialists first! I certainly will!

Not only were they expedient and timely in coming to inspect my sewer line but they promptly arranged for the repairs, applied for the permits with the city, and arrived on time and completed the repairs ahead of schedule. We are expanding into our basement and decided to scope our sewer line to be sure it was still in good condition as to avoid needing to rip out sewer lines in a finished basement later on. However the problem was in our front yard where we had a product that was quickly found to be an inferior product (orangeburg) years ago. It needed to be replaced ASAP.

Learning more about our options, David and his crew came highly recommended as an option. Instead of needing to rip up our front yard David was able to line our existing sewer line from the street to just inside our foundation after cleaning and de-scaling our entire underground sewer line. The cost was more affordable and far less intrusive than trenching a new line in. They could have come while we were gone for the day and would never have known the work had been done! All the members of his crew, David included, were friendly, happy to answer questions, and worked quickly and methodically. They cleaned up when they were done to the point I wouldn’t have known they were there. Our yard looks no different t as there is no trench. They are a well oiled machine.

We are happy to have avoided any plumbing issues and also happy with the end result as we are confident this job was done at a top notch professional level as by the looks of the product and its install requirements demand.

Down the road, if the rest of the sewer line under our house needs replacement, lining it is still our go to option and would certainly call Dave back.

They fixed a stubborn problem that others had failed to solve, and they did it for a reasonable price. In addition to their great work, they have amazing customer service! About 6 months after my sewer work I started having trouble again. They sent someone over within hours of my call and inspected the pipe. The problem turned out to be nothing but a greasy blockage. They did not charge me or make me feel at all like I had wasted their time. For this, and their quality of work, I can't recommend them enough.

My almost 100 year old cast iron basement drain started backing up when I would run a load of laundry. I searched online and found Sewer Renewal Specialist. Joe came out with a special camera and showed me that my 2” drain pipe was only 25% open in sections. Joe was great to work with. He came up with good plan, explained everything and the price was fair. Taylor and Jose spent a day working and clearing 100 years of gunk. Unfortunately several sections of the drain pipe had rusted out on the bottom. It took some creative thinking by David (the owner) and Joe and they came up with a plan that would avoid jackhammering more of my finished basement. Every Sewer Renewal Specialist employee I had contact with was extremely polite and professional from the first person I spoke with on the phone to eventually working with 8 different employees by the time it was completed. The first company we called about our sewer issues charged us to assess the problem and told us we had very extensive issues that would cost tens of thousands of dollars. Thankfully we got a second opinion with Sewer Renewal Specialists. We had a great experience with their team from start to finish. Joe did an excellent job assessing our somewhat complex and perplexing issue and was very professional and knowledgeable about every aspect of the job. I had tree roots blocking my pipes and backing up my toilet into the sink on a Sunday. Roto Rooter came out and cleared the pipe, but they suggested that the pipe was not level so it would have to be replaced rather than cleared out and lined with a resin. When I told Sewer Renewal Specialists (I wish I could remember the person's name; he was great), he encouraged me to let him come out no charge and confirm this, because he suspected it was not true. Sure enough, he found nothing wrong with the pipe, spent more time clearing it out and then shot the resin in so it wouldn't happen again. All for half of what I would have had to pay for the Roto Rooter digging up my line and putting in new pipes. I've had no problem since. Sewer Renewal even came out and extended the release pipe(?) for free when I had a retaining was put in. I can't praise them enough.

There really aren't words to describe the all-around professionalism of this team. I wish I could mirror them in my own business. I sought multiple quotes from multiple plumbers that do in-depth Sewer line installation and connection, including permit submission for a very, very complex municipal entity that was extremely difficult to work with. The other 4 local plumbers were Not even close in my mind, SRS was Hands down the only choice, and they followed thru the entire project with perfection. The owner was very responsive in site visit and quote, patient in working this project over many months, ON Top if it once permits accepted, and their team was Quick to jump in and get the work done in under 72 hours leaving NO MESS, NO headache for me to clean up. They even quickly returned once a permit needed 1 more step complete, and again left NO MESS. A root ball was detected during an inspection for the sale of our house. Sewer Renewal Specialists was very prompt in their response for an estimate and very thorough as they explained the repairs needed. Their warranty was also far better than others we reviewed.

Jose and Taylor showed up very promptly on the scheduled day and went right to work. They did a great job of communicating as they progressed through the work. They completed it timely and did a great job of finishing the project.

Thank you so much!!! We discovered that our 2-inch kitchen/laundry drain pipes were fairly rotted after water started backing up and we got a scope. The pipes were so rotted that traditional repair of the worst sections didn't work, since every time they were touched they crumbled. To make matters worse, the pipes were in a concrete slab and ran both under our brand new bathroom, but also under asbestos tile that we didn't not want to cut/disturb. Sewer Renewal Specialists was the only company who would coat a 2-inch drain line in place and they did fabulous work from start to finish. The person who came out to do the bid (sorry...I forget his name) was super reassuring and professional, and Taylor, who did the actual coating, was fabulous all-around. EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!! The owner, David, responded to a Friday night emergency to open our clogged sewer line, and his camera inspection revealed a collapsing sewer lateral. The initial repair quotation contemplated having to excavate; however, they managed to find a way to do the repair by inserting a liner, which reduced the cost by $6,000. We much appreciate their honesty and efforts to repair our lateral at the lowest cost to us. Each member of the crew was professional, competent, and a pleasure to work with. The work required two unexpected additional visits which were performed cheerfully and at no added cost. Wow! What an amazing team they have! Everyone I interacted with via email, text, or phone was professional, courteous, and concise.

In particular, Kamryn was outstanding! He oversaw the entire process of helping us solve a complicated repair of a party sewer line (shared with neighbor) that ran about 100' out to the public sewer main below our home on vacant land owned by the city.

Kamryn did a great job of explaining our options and being the go between with our neighbor's since we live in another state. He went above and beyond to explain all of the price breakdown and the process.

We opted to go with their recommended CIPP process which allows them to repair the existing pipes by inserting a liner/sleeve into the pipes to seal any joint separations or cracks in the pipes and making them better than new!

I can't recommend them highly enough for any sewer work you need done!

Our home failed sewer inspection due to a deteriorating concrete line running to the city main. We had 2 companies give us quotes that differed by over $10k. Due to this discrepancy we decided to seek a 3rd opinion so we called Sewer Renewal Specialists. Thank goodness we did! Not only did they come in with the cheapest quote, but their CIPP technology meant only excavating a single small trench next to the house. This not only preserved our landscaping, but our driveway as well and prevented any need for flaggers/asphalt cuts in the roadway. Taylor and Willie were professional, timely, and efficient. Highly recommend this company for both the value and as a low impact solution to sewer replacement.

We converted from septic to city sewer and Seweral Renewal Specialists took care of it all! There were bumps along the way because we are subject to the jurisdictions of multiple cities/counties and they were able to take care of all the permitting from start to finish and were great communicators throughout the whole process. Having to do a sewer line repair from our house to the street is not something you look forward to doing. But if you've got to do it (and apparently you do or you wouldn't be reading this review), Sewer Renewal Specialists makes it a lot easier to deal with. Initial contact was with Cindy in the office. She was very friendly and helpful. Joe came out to do the estimate. Took the time to show me and explain what he was seeing with the camera. Discussed the process and answered my questions. After receiving the bid, David, the owner, was very responsive to my follow up questions. Joe's and David's professionalism won them the job and the rest of the crew were just as good. Taylor and Jose did the bulk of the work with the excavation and insertion of the pipe lining. Kamryn and William arrived the next day to finish the job with pulling the balloon, closing up the pipe and refilling the hole. Finally came Garrick to do a great job with the concrete to seal the hole. All of them clearly knew what they were doing and worked very well together as teams. And they all let me hang around to watch and ask questions about the process which I enjoyed a lot. I also need to compliment them on the software they use which kept me well informed about appointments and arrival times. The bid and invoice documents were also very clear and easy to read.

Every point of contact with Sewer Renewal Specialists was professional and pleasant. The work process was explained to us and scheduled in a timely fashion. Taylor and Jose arrived on time and worked above and beyond our expectations. They found our drain pipe had eroded so badly in one section that they went to the extra trouble of removing some of the concrete floor to replace it. They coated the remainder of our drain pipe out to the main connection of the sewer pipe just outside of the house. I would hire them again.

Really enjoyed working with this company! The non-invasive technology was outstanding. David was responsive to all of my questions and concerns. Always arriving on time or early. Excellent communication throughout the project The crew that worked on my project were exceptional. Very knowledgeable about what they were doing. After the project was finished it looked like nothing had been done. There was an issue with a manhole cover. David responded immediately and fixed the problem. There were several curveball related to our job, which resulted in the project costing more and requiring a larger work force. Even with that occurring early on, David and his team honored the original quote and were very professional throughout the job. Caesar and his entire team worked long hours and stayed until the job was done right. We recently had an older failing sewer lined and repaired by Sewer Renewal Specialists. A complicated project that involved deep excavation inside a tiny landscaped yard coupled with a required last minute replacement of the water main. Starting with the competent initial inspection work done by Brian and the amazing project management thanks to Joe, you are in great hands. Joe was very thorough in discussing site preparation and options making it simple preparing for the actual project. The onsite repair team (Taylor, Jose, John, and Kamryn) were top notch in their performance and got the job done with professionalism, skill, and care. They worked hard to get the necessary work complete and have our service back by the days end. Site was put back together as expected for such intrusive project. Overall very solid company doing great work and it shows in their employees and final product. Definitely consider this company if you have the unfortunate luck of sewer repair.
