I cannot say enough great things about Green Box Mechanical. I called them for a service repair on my air conditioning unit. I had one other HVAC company come and take a look and told me that my unit needed to be replaced. The cost would be $5000 to replace the unit. The technician from Green Box looked at my system and determined their was a faulty part. The total cost for the service call and part was $350. Green Box was transparent and honest in repairing my AC. I would highly recommend them and use them again for my HVAC needs.

All the work we've had done with them has been wonderful. Mike shows up when he says he is and gets the job done and the prices are good. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work done.

A new gas furnace was installed. The representative and technician Bill (a combination I like) was easy to converse with and well informed about the details of his technology. This is the third time we have hired Green Box Mechanical. Previously, they have been able to troubleshoot issues with shower fixtures and the kitchen faucet very much to our satisfaction. Efrain, the electrician, showed up promptly at 8 am today and took care of two light fixture issues and is giving me a bid for installing timers for bathroom fans and replacing a floor heat thermostat. He took the time to explain how he fixed the flickering light issues and was friendly and professional.

Responded quickly to Angi ad, came out the next day for an estimate, and was able to swap and rewire a complex pneumatic ceiling-mounted light & arm in a week for a good price.

Nic was great! He fixed our heater in record time. He noticed that our air conditioner needed repair on a part that still was under warranty. He even had the part in his truck. I will definitely use Green Box Mechanical. They are great and very responsive.

Michael was awesome, came out quickly and educated me on how to optimize our furnace for maximum cooling efficiency on these recent hot days. His advice made a huge difference. Didn't charge me for the visit and didn't try to sell me anything. What more could you ask for??

Plumbing and HVAC inspection and clean

Great electronic communication from start to finish. Onsite customer service was excellent, timely, and professional. Jeff knows what he is talking about and respectfully explains the solutions in layman's terms.

When we moved into our new house, there was a lot of work to be done that we could tackle ourselves just fine. When it came down to the electrical bits, however, we knew to get the professionals.

We had a variety of things that needed fixing, upgrading, or installing, and several that were optional. Green Box Mechanical was super quick on not only responding to our inquiries, but also getting someone out to give an in-person estimate. Professional and well within reasonable costs, they scheduled the work for soon after, had it done, and now we couldn’t be happier with the result.

We left some of the optional pieces out during this upgrade, but we definitely know who we’ll be calling when we need another electrical job taken care of.

My AC stoped working about 3am the on a hot summer morning. I know it was 3am because I woke up roasting!
I called Green box at 10am, then had someone out to fix it 3 hours later! The service techs name was Nick. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I would definitely use Green box for my future HVAC needs!

Greenbox Mechanical was wonderful to work with. Efrain bid the job and also came out to do the work. He was patient with me and helped me decide on the best location for the lights we were adding to my craft room. Their bid was very reasonable. And they will be my first call next time I have electrical work I need done.

Had two outlets in a bedroom go dead, swapped one and still no electricity. Called GreenBox as they installed my car charger some weeks back. Gonzo, who is absolutely awesome by the way, came back out to take a look. Low and behold, the other outlet was cracked and loose but because it was connected to the other one, was why no power was coming out. Easy five minutes fix, BUT, GreenBox still charged $335 for a simple five minute fix. Gonzo had his hands tied and I was very disappointed that this is how a company can be ran. I run customer service for multiple hospitals and this is embarrassing. I'd highly recommend avoiding GreenBox unless you are certain that your issue or project is an hour or longer. Just to reiterate, Gonzo was an outstanding electrician and very friendly/knowledgeable. It is GreenBox and their policy that is a joke. Lost an otherwise hopeful long term customer. Back on the hunt to find another electrician/company to give my business to moving forward.

Edit: Would add service recovery or making it right for the customer to the list as well.

Bill Imholt was my technician, and he was terrific. He examined the equipment, presented the facts in clear language, and then made the necessary adjustments. A small leak was found, and once fixed, the performance of the AC has been much improved. My experience with GBM has been terrific, and if I could, I'd give them six stars!

I was very impressed with the professionalism and service we received! Our AC went out in the middle of the heat wave and we were not prepared for it. I called and they happened to have an opening the same day, came out and fixed it. Bill was friendly, knowledgeable and communicated his eta. prior to arrival. Highly recommend!

Efrain was great. Through troubleshooting, he discovered the problem behind a concrete wall, that will require commercial high rise expertise, but in the meantime, he was able to restore power to all but the one problem outlet where wires were cut by construction workers.

Our water heater was letting water out and we had green box 1st inspect the issue and then replace the water heater. They were very professional throughout the entire process. We felt we got a reasonable quote for the equipment as well as the work. They were also very flexible with time. We had an appointment scheduled but when another slot opened up earlier, they let us know. So we were able to get our water heater replaced faster.

The food was good, but bit spendy for casual dinner.

Efficient and professional office staff set up the appointment with a one-hour window for arrival. [One hour!! Most companies offer AM or PM windows at best] The service and fee was described over the phone. The plumber arrived promptly during the appointment window and fixed a broken pipe under a bathroom sink. Cost was less than the predicted bid. Great service. Competent and knowledgeable. Jeff helped us with an electrical project, working to provide a quote that was the cheapest among several. He had to come out a few times for follow up corrections, based on inspector demands and was always gracious, with Greenbox scheduling him quickly. We also had a gas quote from Greenbox and at the time the plumber noted some active leaking from our water heater and fixed it on the spot for a reasonable fee. Good folks all around.

I have used Green Box mechanical for two house projects now. The first was for installing under cabinet lighting in my kitchen, and the second was for electrical troubleshooting when my lights stopped working out of the blue. Both times I found that the technicians were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The price is fair for the cost of the work. But the main reason I am grateful for this company is that they have faster availability that most of the companies that I consulted for the work. I called them on a Thursday, got a call back from scheduling on Friday, and the technician came out on Monday. I would absolutely use them again if needed.

Scheduling the visit for the quote and performing the work was easy and the leadtime was great. There was even a warranty issue with the water heater leaking on the day of installation, they immediately called the local equipment rep and it was replaced that same day before they even left. Superb!

Green Box was very responsive and followed up on my questions quickly. They re-plumbed most of the house, added an HVAC vent, and installed ground rods. They were easy to work with remotely and communicated very effectively.

This company was great! Responded as soon as they got my inquiry, scheduled a tradesman for the same day, and creatively resolved the issue within a few hours, whereas other companies were telling us we had to demo an interior wall and replace significant amounts of pipe. So pleased with this company! Highly recommend.

The team at green box was amazing, they actually got us in 3 days earlier that they expected. Technician was friendly, quick and overall value was great. Our property is a very old unit so I expected them to say not fixable you just replace. But he looked in his van, had the parts on board and we were up and going within an hour.

Great job installing electric car charger

We had new siding put on our house and needed some electrical work to go along with it. After several bids we chose Green Box for their reasonable pricing, good communication, and timeliness. We are very happy with the work they did. Unlike some electrical companies, they charge by the job, not the hour, but we never felt like they were rushing to complete the work on our house and get to the next job. When they needed to come back to fix something minor the city inspector wanted done, they scheduled a follow up with us and came and took care of it. If we need any electrical work done in the future I would definitely use them again.

Our technician (Alex, I think) was so personable and professional. It was a pleasure to work with him. He did everything he could to help us with resolving our potential water leak, “excessive water use” issue.

My clients needed a new disconnect installed for their AC unit, in the middle of the heatwave, of course, and Green Box was able to squeeze us in within 24 hours of me calling them for an appt. They were proactive with what needed to be done and came prepared with the correct parts they needed. I work with many different contractors in my line of work, and these guys will be first on my list to call. Total professionals! On the way out of the appt, I asked Mike (the electrician) if he knew someone who could service a gas fireplace that didn’t have any type of model number attached to it, and he poked around the fireplace, told me he couldn’t remember the name of a place that could help me, but told me he’d call me if he did remember, and he called me about an hour later with the contact info! He didn’t have to do this. He went above and beyond and I love nothing more than to be able to send this level of service to my clients. I’m a fan for life.

I needed immediate repairs to my washing machine. Green Box scheduled the repairs quickly and sent Victor over, who did a fine job at the agreed price.

Green Box Mechanical repaired my electrical panel for my air conditioner. They were efficient and got the job done. They also, did the annual maintenance on my hvac system. They are a great company to work with.

The team came on time and installed our replacement microwave oven combo. They were efficient and worked quietly. I recommend Green box with five stars.

I thought the technician was fine. He did a good job fixing the toilet refill valve but when he tried to fix the 'stuck' cold water on the bathroom sink he needed a part so I went out to George Moreland and got it. He returned that day and fixed the cold water shut off. All was good until that evening when I walked into the kitchen and discovered that the ceiling was leaking (the bathroom is on the second floor above the kitchen). I shut off the cold water upstairs and called to let them know there was a problem. He returned the next morning and installed a new intake pipe to the cold water faucet. All of this was fine except that I had to pay full price for two visits to fix the problem. I didn't think this was fair. What should have been one call resulted in almost $600.00 in charges plus the repair parts that I paid for at George Moreland.

Price gouging contractor. They sent out a Journeyman Plumber for 8 hours work roughing in a shower and bathtub drain. The cost including payroll taxes for the plumber is $100 (+ or - $5) per hour, so $800. They charged $2827.00 for the job.
I most certainly will never use this contractor again.

Installed a new AC unit for us. We got two quotes, while they were the more expensive of the two, they were more thorough, answered all our questions, and made us feel confident that no hidden charges or surprises were going to pop up. Day of install, they were on time, everyone was very friendly and polite, and moved about the house quietly as my husband I were working. Tim Platt, Green Box Mechanical plumber, was very knowledgeable & professional in doing the installations of kitchen & guest bath faucets, replacement of MB toilet and repair kitchen sink main drain using his extensive experience to make necessary adjustments to assure installations/fixes were correct & secure to prevent any future leaks.

This is the 2nd time we've used their plumbing services because they are stellar quality and professional. We had a leak under the kitchen sink and we had them update our shower plumbing.

I hired them to do a shower valve replacement. The installer came over and while removing the valve, broke the pipe. He said it is cvpc pipe and is weak and gets brittle. Nevertheless, they cut two holes in two different closets to access the broken pipe in order to cap it. He didn't finish the job that day. They called to come back to fix the job the next day and we would pay a total of around $947. We told them we didn't want to do that as we thought the price was too high (the original quote to replace the valve was for $335). The next week, they sent a bill for $587 for a shower that doesn't work and two holes in two separate closets that we now have to pay for.

The shower still isn't working after two weeks and today they told us we are looking to have work done for free as we were asking them to come back and fix the pipe they broke and replace the shower valve for $335. Needless to say, we will not be wanting to have them work on our plumbing again.

Greenbox showed up within an hour of me requesting their services, and had me fixed up that same day. Quick and efficient response by their whole team, will use them again.

Greenbox Mechanical has done a great job for me on four separate occasions: installing a tankless gas water heater, installing a new plumbing line, clearing a drain clog, and installing an exterior electrical outlet. They listened well and explained the options for each resolution, were courteous, conscientious, and left everything tidy afterward, worked with the City to get permits, etc. Responsive, with good customer service. I will definitely hire them again.

Prices are high for doing simple things even changing out a light switch. Be sure to get a quote before they do the work and do not feel bad about getting them at your location and telling them NO.

$265 for 15 min is expensive. A/C,now runs after switching one wire and removing one jumper. Makes occasional rattle, but it does run. Unsure how it ran for 2 years with no noise and then just stopped?

We had water leakage issue for a few weeks but could not identify the root cause. Finally we decided to seek help from professionals. Justin was easy to work with and very experienced with the situation. He provided a few proposals and soon the issue has been identified. The price is competitive as well. We are happy with the service and will definitely go back to Green Box again.

Easy to deal with, even during the shutdown times. Good prices. I had a best effort furnace quote during the plague. When they came on site, they noted the furnace didn’t need to be as big as quoted, installed smaller, I paid less and it works great. Only issues I’ve had with them were of the times: lockdown delays with inspections, supply chain delays, etc aka not their fault and they did their best to work around and accommodate to help things go as smooth as they could.

I have requested my own scope creep a few times talking with them ie, oh, you can do that? Every time there was a clear estimate provided and agreed to before doing the extra work and it was at my request, not them selling me on extras.

I would and have used them again.

Good work with HVAC thermostat installation and setup

Contracted Green Box to install new electrical run and subpanel for outdoor hot tub. They were responded quickly with an estimate and worked with me to flexibly respond to changing conditions on the ground. Work was done on time and on budget. Clean, efficient, timely. Our house is over thirty years old and while trying to replace the bathroom fixtures for an upgrade we ran into some issues with newer fixtures not fitting the existing plumbing. He was able fix those for us, too.
We were extremely pleased with how quickly Green Box Mechanical responded to our initial inquiry via Angi and how quickly they came out to give a quote. When trying to schedule a time for them to actually do the work they were super fast, as well! And their price was way, way cheaper than the other bid we’d gotten.

We paid Green Box $200.00 for a permit to install dryer vent. Inspector came out to inspect vent. He said NO PERMIT was required for this instalation. They charged us $200.00 for a permit that was NOT required. This company is charging $200.00...which goes directly into thier pocket. If you are having work done through this company before you pay them...check to make sure a permit is required...we are now out $200.00. The hole that was put into our new bamboo floor for the vent was not put in properly and was done without consideration to placement. Will not be using this company for any future projects.

Green Box Mechanical just completed the replacement of our old 80% gas furnace and air conditioner with a new 97% gas furnace and heat pump. Now that we have experienced some hot days, there is no comparison with the old system. The new system just purrs like a kitten & keeps the set temperature. With the old, it would be 4 to 6 degrees warmer than what was set.
They were very professional and courteous and left us with a very tidy installation. Cost wise, I thought they treated us very fairly and were competitive with the other 2 bids I had for a lesser systems. The new system is fantastic and very quiet. As an architect, I can be hard to please, but they did it! I would highly recommend them. They also helped us get a $500 rebate from EnergyTrust.

We had to do a complete re-pipe of our one level ranch home with a crawl space basement. Galvanized pipes were replaced throughout. Devin came and gave us a great estimate and we scheduled within a couple of weeks. The communication throughout the process was fantastic. We even asked for a couple small additions to the job which Devin said no problem and did them at no extra charge.The estimate was the final price! We learned Devin is a 4th generation plumber and he is very knowledgeable. The convenient thing about Green Box is they are one stop shop with the ability to handle all aspects of the job because they have electricians too so there is no sub contracting or hassle to get someone to come and do what the plumber cant during the job. Would highly recommend and will use them again

Okay, so let me start by saying if you need a fix for something easy and are not in a hurry - these guys are great - in the past I used them with no issued for very small jobs. However, if you need anything at all complex or are on a timeline DO NOT USE THEM. They held up my house closing, I had to call back a bajillion times to get guys out 2 or 3 times for things that should have been done day 1 despite being very clear on my timeline from the beginning. Everyone there tried to pass the buck to someone else. The plumber said he could not do the job I needed and told my buyers it could be a $15,000 fix (wow thanks for that). Had another plumber come - said it was easy and would be about $600.

Jeff Olson was fast, efficient and easy to work with. He squeezed us into his schedule this morning to get our dishwasher hooked up, even though it took a bit longer than expected due to old wiring. He checked a few other things we were concerned about as well. Great service! Thank you so much!

We purchase a shower head kit with new valve. The mfg included the wrong valve sleeve. It took two visits to complete the job. They were professional identifying the problem and help obtain the correct part. I would trust their opinion and help in future plumbing work.

My first choice plumber (Craig Anderson) had retired and sold his business to Green Box Mechanical. I called them for an appointment to replace the floater in my toilet tank. Alex arrived at my house on time. After assessing the problem, he went to work immediately and explained the steps he was taking. Toward the end of the job, he noted that the water tank was loose--my house was built in the early 1950's--and told me he would rebuild it without additional charge. He replaced ALL the insides of the water tank--I noted that a previous plumber replaced just the flapper two years ago but not the floater; of course I did not call that particular plumbing company. I would definitely call them again--also learned they do other things besides plumbing. The person they sent, Alex, was the kind of professional I wish every service provided.

Highly recommend Green Box! We've used them twice now, the first when we first bought our house to update our electrical to grounding outlets and again when our AC broke and we decided to removed the ducts and install ductless. Not only did the team, on both occasions, provide reasonable quotes, but they were very professional, on time, and explained everything to us in detail. While installing the ductless, one of the team members accidentally stepped on our plants in the garden. They could have just moved on and not say anything, but he made a point to apologize to us which was unexpected. We've had other contractors come out recently to give quotes or do work and everyone of them stepped in our garden yet not one apologized. The Green Box team were kind, helpful, didn't talk down to me as a woman, and they kept to their budget (both time and money). We'll be using them again for any future needs.

Alex B was very helpful identifying why our current toilet was leaking. Since the repair process was going to be extensive and may not correct the problem, we decided to install a new toilet. When Alex got into the project of installing the new toilet and me watching him all the time, he found that the old toilet was not installed together as it could be. I would not have known what to do if I had tried to do it myself. What a relief to get it done correctly and saved us money.

Sadly, I paid $335 for an hour for a job that took less than 30 minutes to troubleshoot and resulted in my going out and buying a $4.00 fix (outdoor pole lamp extender). The electrician was nice and showed up on time, but way more expensive for a solution I had to purchase myself.

They installed a EV charger for me…answered all my questions before the project and Jeremy did a perfect job. Their bid was also very competitive… highly recommend!

A somewhat mixed review. The electrician was late (I get it, things happen, and company notified me early in the a.m.), unfortunately this meant I was unable to stay for the electrician's later arrival and rescheduling for another day was problematic. I signed off on the original estimate to install a 220 outlet for a range, and was good with that, nothing else discussed. While the electrician was on site, the electrician made arrangements with my spouse to install the pigtail, which had I known was going to be an extra $250 upsell, I would not have agreed to. That's a lot of money for attaching 4 wires to a stove, not requiring an electrician, without contact to me. Stove is in, though, and works fine.

The electrician arrived promptly, and quickly found and resolved our electrical problem. He was also very friendly when answering our questions.

Pricing caught me a bit off guard but they were very prompt at getting someone out to my place the same day for a furnace that had died on me.

Shae showed up quickly and when he couldn't fix the problem at first try, he came back and finished it at no charge. Good and trustworthy service! Recommended.

I URGE you to not use this company for your electrical or plumbing needs. Our contractor brought this company in to do the work on our bathroom and kitchen and we are SO disappointed in their work and professional behavior.

1. The electrical work in our bathroom was pretty minor. Move 1 electrical outlet, place 2 sconces and make our outlet a 220V vs. 120V for our new gas range. Firstly, when he came to do the work he said some pretty misogynistic & concerning personal things. Not only did he make ME super uncomfortable, but his fellow plumber and my contractor were thoroughly disgusted by his commentary. Worse than his demeanor, the job he did was wrong...twice. First, he hooked up the sconces incorrectly so that you had to turn on 2 light switches at a time to get them to turn on. Second, he changed the 220V outlet to what LOOKED like a 120V outlet, but when we put the electronic meter in it, it was still running 220v. It could have COMPLETELY destroyed our new stove. Thankfully, they did send someone else out to fix it who confirmed his work was wrong and re-did the work quickly and efficiently. Our contractor continually told them about his erratic behavior and poor craftsmanship and Greenbox just defended him saying there had been no other complaints.

2. Our plumber was very nice, but did subpar work. When he noticed our pipes were old galvanized pipes, he recommended additional work to go further back than originally intended in our shower. We appreciated his advice and the charge was extra to re-do our shower drain line which we were fine with. However, we noticed he went only halfway back - not all the way to the connection. (Our new plumber said this was just lazy work - he also used the wrong turn in the shower drain which our new plumber said we were lucky to pass inspection with) He also took the sink line and made 2 new connections for our vanity as we now had 2 faucets. However, after all the tile work was done and my contractor went to hook it up, one of the hot water faucets didn't work. When he came back to fix it, he told us it was our fault for not getting that section of galvanized pipes fixed. He never suggested that when he was working on the sink, and said he'd need to either rip out all the tile, or enter from the other side to fix it. I was so TIRED of Greenbox at this point, that I told him to just tie the hot water off of one line so I could be done with them. Before he left, he suggested we re-pipe the whole house and that it would cost anywhere from 15-20k. When I called in a different plumber (Pipeline plumbing who was a PLEASURE to work with) - they re-piped the entire house for us for a fraction of that price and even FIXED all of the work that was done in the bathroom incorrectly in the first place.

It's one thing to be unhappy with the work, but the extremely unprofessional behavior with the electrician was abhorrent. What makes it worse, is they continually tried to send him out to us (we demanded a different electrician for that 220 mistake) and took no actions to speak with him about his actions.

Do yourself a favor and choose someone else for your plumbing and electrical needs.

We hired Greenbox to run the electrical for our hot tub. We had also hired them in the past to run a 30amp for our trailer. The work was good. They removed the crawl space foundation vent to pull the wires, never closed it back up and now we have a $3,000 rat problem under the house. Poor execution on the details that is now costing us big dollars!

Plumber repaired my toilet and faucet handle. Very professional and personable young man.

Contacted them through their website, got an immediate response, heater service completed same day. Impressed that Green Box uses Union electricians, plumbers and HVAC technicians. Our tech Nic was on time, professional, efficient, explained everything and even showed me what he was doing. He was also super nice and I was comfortable having him in the house. Mike (Michael) their electrician from Green Box is amazing! First and foremost, he’s a delightful person with an upbeat can-do attitude, but more over, from a professional standpoint, he listens, understood what was needed, and advised on solutions without attempting to dramatize the repairs to scare a homeowner. Throughout the process, he’s been informative, clear on next steps, has followed through in a timely manner, and managed the inspection process beautifully as well. Being I work on houses for a living, I meet contractors all week long. When it comes to electrical, Green Box is honest, real, and goal oriented. I am now looking forward to working with their plumbing and HVAC team too! I had several outlets that seemed to be working sometimes and not others. Turned out it was my ignorance about GFCIs and how they work.

Green Box Mechanical installed a new heating/AC system in our home. They did extensive research on our home, designed the appropriate system to suit it, and finished a difficult job on time and on budget. Throughout the process they were extremely knowledgeable, responsive, timely and clean. They are real pros... definitely a top-quality vendor who I would hire again in a second.

They were right on time, very professional, friendly and worked hard. I can’t comment on the quality or value because I’m not sure what it looks like now because I would have a heart attack if I ever had to go under my house. I will have just have to trust.

Efraim did the work and was really incredibly efficient. He worked by himself from 8 am to almost 6:30 pm with a VERY brief lunch break. He was also very friendly and told me about his apprentice program of which he is very proud.

Bill is always very professional and knowledgeable. After reviewing my a/c system he was able to understand the problem and explain to me the best way to resolve the issue. He is great to work with. I was very pleased with this service!!

Routine inspection of gas furnace.

Green Box was quick to respond when my furnace went out right before a cold snap and Nic performed a thorough inspection ultimately diagnosing the problem as the blower motor. He was back the same day with a new motor. The fix was costly, but will hopefully have extended the life of our aging furnace until we can replace it.

The response time was amazing! The electrician, Efrain Cabrera Aldaco was a pleasure to have in my house. He is knowledgeable, efficient and a joy to talk with.

This business does good work. However, communication could use improvement. On this particular job, they arrived 2 hours before the agreed on time, and were gone before I was there. And they spelled my name wrong, even tho we have exchanged emails. Am I picky?

If you're asking about the quality of the work done, I have no problem with Greenbox; their work passed inspection, they were pleasant, arrived when they said they would come. But they ignored my requests and didn't do the work I requested.

I asked for four tasks to be done, the most important to install an outlet strip in my art studio. I also asked them to repair broken light fixtures in the bathroom, and to give me estimates for two other potential jobs: Installing new recessed ceiling lights in the studio, and then to check the outlets in a new backyard shed, ensure that I either had a 20-amp circuit in at least one outlet, or there were two 15-amp outlets on separate circuits, and if not, give me an estimate for installing same. I left a copy of the instructions with my roommate as well (since I couldn't be there on the day they were coming).

When I got home that night, I found a bill for $870, and only one of the four jobs done correctly: The bathroom lights had been repaired. There was no outlet strip--I was told they'd forgotten to bring one (why, when I told them what I needed?), but would come back and do that for another $190. They did include an estimate for putting in ceiling lights, but instead of my requested recessed lights, one over each work area, they quoted $726 to simply replace the existing ceiling fixture with a fluorescent version (and have it inspected).

If I'd wanted that, I would simply keep the fixture that was already there. The studio area is actually two rooms, separated by a door; installing a ceiling fixture in one of the rooms wouldn't help the poor lighting in the other, in any case.

The real problem, though, was that they'd added a new circuit to the shed without my approval instead of checking to see if it was necessary and calling me with a quote. I have, despite repeated requests, never been told whether it was actually needed (and suspect it wasn't).

I had no choice but to pay the bill. I told them I was very unhappy about that, got the equivalent of a shrug and a next time you should be there, which is undoubtedly true. Mostly, though, I'd REALLY needed that outlet strip, so I told them I wanted that installed asap, and I did NOT want the ceiling light done. When could they come out? Monday, they said. They also told me that the county inspector would be coming out that week to review the work done in the shed.

Monday came and went, and when I sent a note asking if they had an ETA on installing the outlet, I was told they were waiting for me to pick which ceiling light fixture I wanted. I repeated that I wasn't doing that, I just wanted them to install the outlet strip as promised. They responded that they were waiting on me to decide on the light fixture. Huh?

Then I asked when the inspector would come, and was told they'd cancelled the appointment because they were waiting on me to order the ceiling fixture. I appreciate that they wanted to save me the price of two inspections, but I'd already told them that the only additional work planned was the outlet strip they were supposed to have installed that day and didn't. I asked again when they'd be out to install the outlet strip, and again was told they were still waiting on me to decide on the light fixture!

At that point, I pretty much gave up. I sent the check for $870, and told them to send the inspector any day, just let me know when. Several days later Greenbox emailed that they still needed payment. I assumed that they'd lost the check, so I went onto their website and paid the bill, then canceled the check from my bank (at a $25 fee).

Update: Mike Llewelyn of Greenbox contacted me to explain that they did NOT lose my check, instead they never received it, and asked me to correct that part of the review. I'm certainly willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on that. The check has never been returned.

The inspection was finally held a week or so later--the outlets in the shed passed with flying colors. So...good work, but marginal customer experience.

Great folks, great service, very responsive, results exactly what we asked for. We've had them come back a couple times now for various electrical work, and even the one time there was a miscommunication over an estimate, they simply made it right. Great folks; will definitely use them again.

Green Box was very easy to work with and about $600 cheaper than the other quote I received. The electricians Jeremy and Nick were great to work with and explained everything they were doing every step of the way. Would highly recommend and do business with them again!

I had an emergency where my furnace was leaking lots of water. I turned the furnace off and the leaking water stopped. I called them at 4:45 explaining the situation and they had someone out the next day. Such a great response time, especially during all the labor issues companies are having. Thank you Green Box.

Not a fan of their business practices. They charged $335 for one hour of diagnostics and work. They told me on the phone that depending on the scope there may be more work required. Even with the very high cost of the truck roll, I understood. But what they DIDN'T say, and shame on me for not diving deeper, is that the electrician was only given an hour and then had to go to another call, and that a subsequent visit would cost yet another $335. They say they are a fixed bid company, but shame on them for trying to charge $670 or more to even get a bid for the work. Most companies will charge a $150 or $200 service call fee, and then apply that fee to the bid if the work is performed. Not only did Green Box not solve any of the issues for the $335 they charged, but no bid for work would be produced without yet another fee of $335. This is just plain shady in my book, and I will not be using this firm again.

Wow. JC and his team have completely nailed it with a very service-oriented one stop shop. I work in energy and electricity and am slowly switching over many of my home devices and appliances to be grid-smart and to cap off and decrease my home's use of natural gas due to carbon, air quality and safety issues. Most of the very capable contractors I called didn't really get it when I explained my move toward smart, connected appliances that can make better use of the solar on my roof. Mike at GreenBox got it and called around to learn what he could to make my project work.

I have a 110 year old home so I have worked with countless home contractors over the years but these guys are working hard to think about the future, whole home service models and then when they have a hiccup or two in implementing that vision JC just totally stands by their work and puts in the time to figure it out. I was really happy with the gas to electric water heater conversion they did for me. Everyone was friendly, considerate and worked with me when I expressed any concerns about price, implementation or other questions.

I plan on doing a major renovation next summer and will definitely be using Greenbox.

I had smoke/carbon monoxide detectors replaced (they began failing and alarming). Turns out they needed to be replaced because they were over 10 years old. Then a GFI switch on the panel got stuck in the off position. The electrician, Aaron, was very thorough in finding and repairing everything. The office staff were also helpful in scheduling the visits.

While the technician, Aaron, was a really nice guy, I can’t say I was happy to pay 335 dollars for 15 minutes of service. This was NOT communicated on the phone. Turns out my breaker switch has three settings, and it was stuck in between on and off. He told me this happens all the time, and this is how the business stays afloat. While I understand where the management is coming from with their minimum of one hour for invoices, I must say that it’s frustrating to be told that this used to be free and is now going to cost half of my paycheck. The phone technician did not ask if the breaker switch had been fully reset, which would have been really helpful as well.

Eric and the Green Box Mechanical team were excellent to work with. They were able to attend to an electrical issue in our home at very short notice and went out of their way to help fix another problem we had. Their bid came through very quickly, they were super professional and very friendly. Green Box Mechanical come highly recommended.

We have a discontinued shower panel in our main bathroom. The mixer cartridge failed and I had been unable to source a replacement part. Alex found it and we had it installed within a few days. Other plumbing services were not even taking appointments until early June (service was performed in mid-May) so I really appreciate Green Box Mechanical's responsiveness.

Aaron was great I needed a designated plug for some equipment my sister need for her LVAD heart Pump , they let her out of the hospital almost a week early and he came that day and put it exactly where I wanted it ! I would definitely use them again .

They were both very friendly and knowledgeable about the work needed to do the job. The work was done in coordination and everything went well, there was a few minor hiccups but things were addressed after I brought them up with the techs. I am a general contractor and need reliable subcontractors to complete projects in a timely manner. I like using Green Box Mechanical because they show up and complete the tasks on schedule and in line with their estimate. They don’t try to add fees after the fact. This is critical because I include their estimates in my proposal to the customer. I also appreciate that there are project managers that take ownership of the project to ensure that everything is done right. It also helps that they employ both electricians and plumbers so I only need to make one call or email to set up a job. The technicians wear uniforms and have well-marked vehicles, which makes the homeowners feel better about them coming in the house.
