Best Sewer System in Chicago IL

They charge a service fee to come out (it doubles on Saturday and quadruples on Sundays). I had a strange water issue that seemed like it could have been a frozen pipe. However, it didn't seem like it SHOULD be.

A tech came out, did very minimal inspection and troubleshooting, then gave me several very expensive quotes for running a thaw machine. I asked if there was any kind of guarantee that doing so would fix my issue, but there wasn't.

I ended up solving my issue myself by cutting into my drywall to examine my pipe following the recommendation from another plumber. It was frozen due to a frozen hvac line from another building unit that was running next to the water line.

The other plumber would have charged about 1/3 the price to thaw it. I did so with a hair dryer with confidence after actually finding the root cause.

Annoying service fees, expensive quotes, poor troubleshooting, no guarantee of problem resolution, and, finally, they also signed me up for a spam email newsletter without consent. F that.

Drain tech #1479, Leo was super knowledgeable, and he took time with us. Tech #3213, Robert did an excellent job on reviewing our camera scope to us, and gave us a recommendation, but was not pushy.

The project undertaken was to replace a 20 year old water heater with new and correct issues causing poor water pressure in a 60+ year old Chicago residence.

Jan and Chris arrived on time and hit the ground running and never slowed down. The water tank was replaced and brought on line in less time than was estimated. If you admire good craftsmanship you'll love Vanguard, the pipe fitting and copper sweating are truly superior . It made me question what I received from prior service providers.

As for the poor water pressure issue, I had convinced myself that the only remedy would be to have a booster pump installed. Our home has had remodeling of the plumbing on all three levels. So all the piping has been modernized and replaced with copper except for the holt/cold risers between the basement and the two bathrooms. After Jan had a look at the bathroom fixtures and the transitions between the new copper and the old galvanized riser pipes he had a different idea as to what would fix the pressure issue. He suggested replacing the valve system in the new shower that had mixing valve. And, replace the non-brass die-electric unions (connecting the old piping to the new), with brass fittings before spending the roughly $4000.00 to install a booster pump. As it turned out, at each point in this process Jan was right, there was significant blockage in the fixtures and DE unions. Long story short, I'm very happy with the water pressure at all of my fixtures and it cost a lot less in labor and parts than the booster pump! These guys know plumbing and that is evident in their honesty, workmanship and troubleshooting.

These guys are awesome! I have kids who like to toss things inside the toilet. We have had Rocket come out at least 3 times. Each time they are on time, clean, and have been able to fix impossible clogs!

Came to checkout an issue i'm having with water seeping up from my basement floor. Did a thorough investigation of the pipes for a suspected leak at no charge. I am pretty sure now its a hydro-static issue now and a plumbing issue but feel much more at ease. Thanks!!

We've used First Chicago a couple times. Back in May, our sump pump died during some heavy rain. First Chicago was able to get out that day, and put in a new solid sump pump at a good price. They were very consultative, and walked me through what they were seeing with our new house. They also tested out our backup and showed me that it had died. We liked them so much that we had them come back recently to install a new backup sump pump system. Again, they were great to work with this time as well (shout out to Martin for the great work.) Will definitely use these guys for all our plumbing needs moving forward.

The booster pump for my water began leaking so I called Apex in the morning. They arrived within 30 minutes and gave me a free estimate along with a few options for what I could do. I decided to have the pump replaced with a better model. They went to get the pump right away, returned and installed it all within a few hours. Chuck and Aiden did a great job and I highly recommend their work!

Don't waste your day on these no-call no-shows.

I called in the morning with a very easy request that I explained perfectly and sent pictures for. The promised to come between noon and 1. They never showed nor called. I had to call them multiple times and they kept promising to come. Finally they would not call me back.

I am a general contractor and they wasted my whole day. I would have given them more work too.

Stay away unless you want to waste your day as well!!! Call another outfit who will show up and communicate.

Kurt from J Blanton Plumbing helped diagnose and fix the source of a leak (i.e.g, soft material pipe blockage) in quick order. He was great, and the rest of the J Blanton staff was super responsive in terms of getting a technician out here quickly. I will definitely use them for my plumbing needs in the future!

Before scheduling the appointment Henry walked me through a multitude of tasks I could self-perform to repair the unit on my own. Called the company at 6:30 AM this morning after I found out my water heater broke. They promptly called me back at 7 AM and had a tech to my house by 7:45. Estimate was done in 10 minutes new water heater was installed within 3.5 hours. Service was beyond exceptional. I would strongly recommend Pierce Plumbing for any future needs.
