Jan is a skilled plumber. Gave me a preliminary diagnosis on my issue with my basement toilet and shower drain backing up. Arrived on time on the day he was scheduled to come by and fixed the issue I had. Cleaned the ejector pit, that was full of roots, and installed a new ejector pump. This solved my issue. Competent, on time, and able to fix my somewhat complex plumbing issue on the first try. Happy

I bought an older home in 2020 and have had to do a good amount of plumbing work - since the first job, I've used nobody but Vanguard and I will continue to do so in the future. They have been great at handling all scales of matters - from clearing a kitchen sink drain to replacing a basement's worth of corroded pipes and valves - with promptness, precision, and professionalism. They have routinely identified followup matters that I will want to look into when fixing something else. Both unit water heaters, all the main pipes, and several small fixtures were their work and I have had no problems at all since they completed everything.

Another quality plumbing repair by Vanguard! Our fridge water supply line sprung a leak, and after an appliance repair company declined to do the work, we called Vanguard. This was the second time we had engaged Vanguard, and the two-man crew was every bit as courteous, competent and professional this time as it was last time. They were punctual, wore shoe covers inside (and otherwise respected our property), worked diligently to replace the plastic supply line with a copper one, cleaned up after themselves, and performed the work in less time than estimated, saving us money. Plumbers even diagnosed and quickly fixed a small leak in our kitchen sink faucet, which was beyond the scope of the quoted work, and asked, “Anything else?” before leaving. I would not hesitate to use Vanguard again, or to recommend them. Highly professional!!

Vanguard replaced two water heaters and revamped the set up. in my condo building. We received quotes from other plumbers and it was clear that Vanguard was far more experienced and skilled than others we spoke with. I chose Vanguard because they were located near me and had been in business for over a decade. I emailed a photo with my (non-emergency) issue and they replied to me first thing next day to get more details. They weren’t able to come out right away, but I take that as a good sign when a plumber is busy enough with work to not be immediately available. I wanted to pay a professional to get the job done correctly, the first time, and was willing to accept what that kind of work costs. I emailed on Tuesday night and by Thursday morning Jan was able to come out (earlier than anticipated) and solved my issue within an hour. Jan had the right tools, replacement parts, and even took the time to educate me about some valves on my water heater in my new-to-me condo. He was professional and friendly. We have used Vanguard for some other plumbing issues. So when our water heater pilot light wouldn't stay lit, we called Vanguard first. Jan asked for some pictures via email and then stopped by after a call. He recommended we do a full replacement after assessing our water heater.

He listened to our needs and looked at the existing system which included a recirculating pump. He made his recommendations along with an option to replace the pump. We agreed with replacing it all.

The next day his team showed up bright and early to get started. Jan stopped by to go over any questions. The team was quick to remove the old heater and then install the new one. Appreciated that they were able to get a new heater and installed in about 24 hours!

We received several quotes from different plumbing companies. From the initial appointment, Vanguard Plumbing was the most professional and knowlegable. Our water heater needed to be replaced as well as a faucet and shower that was not working. They gave me a quote, explained the work that needed to be completed and we scheduled it withing the next few weeks at my convience. The work was completed on time and the area was left clean. But most importantly, I have hot water!! I would hire them again for any future pluming needs.

We’ve had Vanguard repair two toilets and they did a great job. What I really appreciate is that Jan has you send photos/video over email so he can give you a quote right away. He’s very responsive and the issues were corrected both times.

We had Jan out to check our sewer line and basement plumbing because of a smell we sometimes get that I was worried might be signs of a larger issue. Jan was incredibly thorough, careful, and deliberate, taking the time to figure out all of the potential sources of the smell in our house which is old and was updated at different points by previous owners. He was very knowledgeable and patient and explained all our different options, and he made sure to explain how everything worked so I would better understand what to look for in the future. Jan is clearly knowledgeable about older Chicago homes, which can present unique problems, and I definitely recommend him.

We had a weird situation where hot water was coming out of our cold taps. After getting estimates from a few places, we went with Jan at Vanguard because he knew what he was talking about. He diagnosed the problem with a few possibilities and thoroughly explained what might be happening. I appreciated his transparency, admitting that there could be several possibilities that he wouldn't know for sure until he got in there; a lot of other plumbers were quick to assess without a thorough examination.

Jan was also very diligent when he started his job. Over the course of a few hours, he checked on all our fixtures to make sure the situation wasn't stemming from one of the mix valves. And he set out on the work that was scoped, finishing in time for us to have guests over and restore our water flow. Excellent work.

When I first reached out to Jan about a new sump pump and backup install he requested pictures so he can accurately provide an estimate. I loved this because it allowed me to get an idea of what I am going to need to invest without wasting any time having someone come to my house. Within minutes I had an estimate emailed to me.

After deciding to go with Vanguard his team showed up a day later and they did an amazing job and they were extremely professional.

This is where Vanguard took it to the next level with customer services and support. After spending a small fortune on this new sump pump system the alarms were going off more than what I would expect. Jan immediately took charge of the situation and worked with the manufacture to have my system upgraded due to a small defect. A few days later he was over to install the upgraded system.

We thought our issues were over but the story doesn't end here. We had a different alarm going off after the upgraded was installed so after sending Jan a couple of videos he was back over to trouble shoot the system. Jan went over every part and figured out a different part of the system was defected. Luckily he had a brand new replacement part in the truck.

It has been a week since Vanguard and Jan completed their work and I really couldn't be happier with all the attention and service we got. Obviously there is some disappointment with the manufacture of the pump but that isn't on Vanguard.

At the end of the day Vanguard and Jan stood by their work, they stand by the products, and the went the extra mile to make sure I was happy.

We noticed a leak under our 20-year-old water heater. Jan analyzed our problem from pictures and sent a repair crew that replaced the old heater. We are very satisfied with their work.

After trying to fix a leaking pipe under my bathroom sink and realizing it needed to be cut and replaced, I found Vanguard via a Yelp search and received an estimate. I thought it could be a bit high, so I got a few other estimates and realized that it was going to be a bigger project than I assumed. I ultimately went with Vanguard based on their excellent reviews and I am happy I did. They set up an appointment next day and completed the job in essentially the estimated time. I also had them replace an o-ring on one of my toilets as we were getting sewer odors. Come to find out it wasn't the o-ring, it was a lack of a proper flange. So that also needed to be replaced. All-in-all, the quality and service were excellent. Will definitely reach out to Vanguard first with my next plumbing need.

We have used Vanguard a number of times and have always been very happy with the service, explanation, and great skill Vanguard's plumbers have. Jan was most likely not the most affordable but the work was great. Jan is not only reliable but really goes the extra mile. First time I called them (smelly upstairs washer basin drain) they knew it was an easy fix and just told me what to do vs trying to make easy money off me. It built trust. Then when I really needed them for a utility rm gas leak in our new house I didn't think twice. High prices but peace of mind. Vanguard replaced my faucet and upgraded the stop valves. I called them two days ago and after they sent the quote, I accepted it last night and they came out the next morning. I recently hired Vanguard for the second time (for an issue unrelated to the first) and both were very positive experiences. I talked with Jan to schedule the job. He communicated promptly and clearly and asked for a bunch of pictures of various pipes and fixtures so he could make an accurate estimate. On the day of, the plumber George (who had done the first job as well) showed up on time, respected the space in terms of shoe coverings and a mask, and effectively communicated the problems, his solutions, and any related choices that I needed to make. I reached out to Vanguard about providing a quote for a gas line installation/extension for a natural gas grill. I wanted the pipe to run from my existing mechanical room gas line and end in a shutoff valve under the deck.

Alan—the technician who did the work—was friendly and punctual, and he did a great job. A little over a week after Alan finished the job, I assembled the grill and then realized that there was a small issue with how the grill would hook up to the gas line as-is. Just wanted to write a quick review for the guys from Vanguard Plumbing concerning a recent kitchen sink fix they did for me. Really can't say enough about how pleased I am with my experience with them when my 15yr old kitchen sink metal pipes finally corroded through. Jan from the main office was great about getting back to me when I asked for a quote and getting me scheduled quickly when a time slot opened up last minute. Jan had originally quoted me 2hrs of labor plus materials for a total cost of nearly $500. A little pricey, but they were able to come out quickly and fix a sink I couldn't use. So it was a nice surprise that their team was able to fix the issue in under an hour, which brought the price down to a very reasonable $300 total.

We had been having issues with our shower effectively controlling our water temperature. We had previously had another plumber attempt to fix it but was not able to replace the broken part because they told us to purchase the wrong one. They also pointed out a couple other issues with building's water heater that they recommended fixing and provided a quote for that additional work that I could bring to our HOA. I highly suggest working with Vanguard Plumbing and Sewer. I came to them with an enormous list of issues that piled up during the last two years and they were able to tackle them quickly with quality and care. I had: a leaky shower, a broken tub faucet, needed to replace the showerhead, remove a pedestal sink and replace it with a new sink and cabinet, replace broken valves on said sink, install a bidet and replace a kitchen p-trap. They were able to work efficiently despite my awful building management dropping the water shut off twice... and also communicate issues to this layman so I was always aware of what was being done. I also wanted to note; I have a trash immune system and have to take a bunch of immunosuppressants which is not a great mix in a pandemic. Vanguard is our go to plumbing repair team. Jan and George are friendly, responsive, and professional. We needed the gas line that runs to over new over moved. I spoke with Jan, sent him pics of the projects for got everything schedule in a few hours on a Saturday. They came out Mon morning and found a solution without needing to rip out any kitchen cabinets. They explained each step, answered any questions and cleaned up after they finished. Plus they were good sports about letting my kids and dog hang out to watch.

This time we had a kitchen faucet installed. They take the time to look at everything related and point out issues or potential issues. We had a crack in our garbage disposal that was not leaking yet but eventually would, it was over 14 years old. No hard sell to replace it now but would save labor time. We decided to go ahead and have it replace and they worked hard and fast!

We've used Vanguard for a variety of plumbing projects over the years and they always deliver. We needed our P Trap replaced and after a call and a couple of photos they were there the next day and had it fixed in under an hour. I haven't comparison shopped plumbers in some time but their prices seem a bit high. However, the work is fast and reliable and I'll continue to use them when needed.

Vanguard plumbing has excellent customer service. George came to our house on time to check our sewer lines in the house. When he used the camera in the sewer pipes he did a great job explaining to me what was going on underground.

After speaking with several plumbers, I chose to go with Vanguard because of the time Jan took to listen to our rather complicated plumbing issue on the phone. He was extremely courteous and took the time to keep me updated on his arrival on the day of service. He explained everything in detail in a way I could understand and did a very thorough job. I was also happy with the quote he gave me, and that the quote was accurate. I have since used Vanguard for a second plumbing issue and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Hooray!!! Our water heater is finally replaced after days of searching for an installer/plumber. It was very difficult to find anyone to install a 50-gallon water heater (same size as my original) into a very tight space of our condo.

Jan and his crew from Vanguard rescued us after we attempted to work with another plumber who was not skilled enough to do the job. Jan was incredibly professional from the moment we spoke to him on the phone, thru all the communications, the first visit/quote, and subsequent work that had to be done to repair/refit plumbing in our very old home (poorly done by previous owners). Jan also referred us to an excellent carpenter that was required to stabilize joists and fix what the other plumbers messed up, and he coordinated with the carpenter to come up with the best solution for our situation, which was very complex. Just had Vanguard come out to replace an old water heater. The process leading up to the installation was very smooth, and the owner Jan is very responsive.

I had a new water heater put in and it turned out great. The owner Jan came out and evaluated what had to be done because it was a lowboy type of heater and it needed to be measured also the outdated pipes needed to be replaced. George, an expert plumber and a really nice professional person, came here and did such a great job. I have had to call Jan and his guys out 2 times, the 3rd time, Jan talked me through the simple faucet repair on the phone. I can not say enough good things about Jan and his company, he and his guys all wear masks, are polite and courteous, professional and the amount quoted is exactly what I have paid. Jan responds very quickly to every call and email I have sent. I have worked in construction for 28 years, having any workmen respond quickly is rare. I have done my own rehab work with the help of various tradesmen and know the industry. I bought my home at the end January 2020, RIGHT before Covid 19 started. As I only had 3.5 weeks to get my work done before I moved in, I hired a licensed plumber to get multiple items done before I moved in. Needless to say the guy did nothing but take shortcuts and put band aids on most everything he touched. Within a few months the issues started. I talked to Jan to have both ejector pumps in my home replaced. I was also planning on getting the anode rod in my water heater replaced, however, due to its placement and the difficulty in getting access to the old one, I decided to against it. I definitely appreciated the time Jan took to discuss options and he wasn't pressuring me to go in one direction or another. After that, he quickly gave me an estimate for the ejector pump replacement, got it scheduled, and ended up charging less because the job took 1.5 hours less than estimated.

Jan and Vanguard Plumbing made dealing with a bad situation (a 4 year old water heater started leaking for no reason other than it is a lemon) a very positive experience. Jan is very responsive and kept me in the loop until an agreed upon course of action could be reached, and his crew was prompt, polite, very capable, and cleaned the area up when they finished the job. Jan called and made sure that I had a CO detector near my 2nd floor hot water tank for safety reasons and on the day of the installation George the technician came, wore a mask and covered all my new carpeting. The gentleman from Vanguard Plumbing was amazing. He was professional. And he found another problem I had while he was here and fixed both that and the original issue he came for. He gave great advice on how to prevent the issues and pointers on how to spot it sooner. We learned a lot! He also grew up near where I live so we had a nice time chatting about the area. :)

The project undertaken was to replace a 20 year old water heater with new and correct issues causing poor water pressure in a 60+ year old Chicago residence.

Jan and Chris arrived on time and hit the ground running and never slowed down. The water tank was replaced and brought on line in less time than was estimated. If you admire good craftsmanship you'll love Vanguard, the pipe fitting and copper sweating are truly superior . It made me question what I received from prior service providers.

As for the poor water pressure issue, I had convinced myself that the only remedy would be to have a booster pump installed. Our home has had remodeling of the plumbing on all three levels. So all the piping has been modernized and replaced with copper except for the holt/cold risers between the basement and the two bathrooms. After Jan had a look at the bathroom fixtures and the transitions between the new copper and the old galvanized riser pipes he had a different idea as to what would fix the pressure issue. He suggested replacing the valve system in the new shower that had mixing valve. And, replace the non-brass die-electric unions (connecting the old piping to the new), with brass fittings before spending the roughly $4000.00 to install a booster pump. As it turned out, at each point in this process Jan was right, there was significant blockage in the fixtures and DE unions. Long story short, I'm very happy with the water pressure at all of my fixtures and it cost a lot less in labor and parts than the booster pump! These guys know plumbing and that is evident in their honesty, workmanship and troubleshooting.

During heavy rains, water backed up in a drain just outside our basement door. Water flooded the basement floor. We called Vanguard, which we have used four times before, and sent pictures of the drain. The next day they set up an appointment for two days hence, then called later because they could come a day earlier. The two Vanguard servicemen quickly assessed the situation, removed the drain cover and began clearing the drain. At one point I saw one worker with his arm almost completely in the drain as he removed the dead leaves and other materials that caused the clog. The workers used our hose to flush the drain, making sure the water flowed to our sump pump and out into city sewers. It all took about 20 minutes.

Jan and his team were on time, courteous, and very friendly. They repaired a leak with my sink and installed a garbage disposal. They were within budget and were willing to help me with future problems, should they occur.

I highly recommend for anyone who needs plumbing work done.

Vanguard is great! They keep you posted about what they need to do, show you the cameras, and give you an estimate before they arrive. This is the second time we've worked with them and are very happy with their thorough and professional work.

Vanguard is my go-to whenever things go wrong! They usually can come out quickly, do a great job and are super transparent about what they're doing and prices. We've used them for fixing leaks, replacing faucets, installing toilets, unclogging drains and fixing the basement sump pump/sewer system. Always a great job and we keep going back!

DO NOT CONTRACT VANGUARD PLUMBING FOR LEAK INSPECTIONS

Our condo association contracted Vanguard Plumbing for inspecting a leak in our condo building a few weeks back. They charge close to $2000 for a leak inspection visit (10 times higher than average leak inspection) and came to the conclusion that our unit is solely responsible for the leak with no visual evidence. No photo or video evidence identifying the leak is indeed from our unit. The inspection report is merely one sentence. Based on Vanguard's inspection, we ripped our bathroom open to expose the pipes that Vanguard has deemed to be the origin of the leak and asked them to come back on site to find the actual leak. Their response is they are actually not sure where the leak is because they cannot see through walls. And they will not follow through with previous inspection result and actually find the leak. So what are we paying close to $2000 for? A guess? At this point Vanguard is liable for their inspection result and need to follow through with evidence of actually finding and fixing the leak. If you don't want to pay $2000 for inspecting a leak and not actually finding the problem, DO NOT USE VANGUARD.

I know their business have a lot of good reviews from various plumbing work. I'm providing this perspective on their inspection service.

We have been very happy with the multiple projects (burst pipe, hot water heater, sump pump, booster pump) that we have worked on with Vanguard. The team is professional and takes the time to help me understand the pros and cons of multiple solutions. We have used other plumbers in the past but, since finding Vanguard, we have not hired any other plumber.

We use Vanguard for all our plumbing needs! They have unclogged drains, fixed our rain-head shower, replaced faucets and garbage disposal, replaced sink traps. They are always very quick to respond and do a great job. They will frequently troubleshoot with pictures, saving a trip out to do an evaluation/estimate. They are a very professional operation.

I’m a repeat Vanguard customer and will continue to use Jan for any repairs or installations as long as I live in Chicago. I ordered a new oven from a major home retail chain and the people they sent were incompetent and were unable to install the oven. After not having an oven for two weeks and a 9 month old baby I needed to get this installed ASAP. I called Jan and he came over the same day. He installed the oven with no issue and ensured it was working correctly. He also had a contact who came over shortly after to remove the old oven. Jan is a true professional, very knowledgeable, hard worker, and is always reliable. I’m truly grateful to have him work on our house in the past and be able to provide quick repairs / installations such as our oven.

I live in a large condo building and Vanguard is at the top of the list of plumbing companies to call when anything goes wrong. In addition to being expert plumbers, Jan and George are efficient, on-time, and very professional. Plus Jan was able to give me a quote ahead of time rather than charge me by the hour, which I appreciated. In addition, I had a question about something and Jan called me back promptly to answer. It's hard to know who to trust when it comes to plumbing, so I am very happy to have found Vanguard.

Vanguard Plumbing installed a new spigot and used the camera to give us a great overview of the sewer line from back to front (80 ft) and all the drains leading to the catch basin in the back patio area. We are planning to redo the back patio. They unclogged two drains, and let us know we need to replace the pipe below the ground in the downspout. George was great at communicating the problems and advising repair in a cost effective plan. Jahn, the owner, followed up with a written report for the Condo association (six units). They came on time and revised their plan as I asked to do a little extra. I recommend them for their knowledge, honesty and communication skills.

Overall, I had a positive experience with Vanguard Plumbing. My toilet finally started showing its age and needed to be rebuilt. Plumbers arrived on time and stuck to the agreed-upon proposal of time-to-complete the job as well the total cost of labor and parts (so there were no unexpected surprises when the work was finished).

I had a bad bathroom drain clog and my usual plumber couldn't get here to work on it. I called Jan at Vanguard and he was able to come out within the hour. Jan is very professional and fair. (Not to mention the fact that he is a very nice and polite man.) Also, he has good attention to detail. He left my bathroom cleaner than he found it. My drain runs clear and I have Jan to thank. Jan and team were great. From initial diagnosis to work, I’m very happy. I also had three different plumbers quote the work. Vanguard was $500 cheaper than both for the exact same job.

Needed new garbage disposal unit due to leak. Vanguard asked for pictures in advance to assess the space and set up. They deducted a potential issue with the piping and how that would impact the performance of the water discharge of the unit. Pipes were too high, allowing water to sit in the unit. Could rust and cause unit to fail faster. They presented options. Once on site they saw they could flip discharge with dishwasher, which had proper pipe level. Very happy that they provided options and potential issues and not just show up and swap out a new unit. I paid more for the extra work - but it was done right.

Living in a 100+ year old building offers many challenges. Over the years, renovations have made the utility systems somewhat of a mystery. Jan and his plumbers with Vanguard are our go-to plumbers for all things from finding mystery back-ups to cleaning out the pipes and monitoring their state. Vanguard staff are respectful, punctual and always leave the place in excellent condition.

I have used Vanguard Plumbing for a number of tasks in both my condo and for the building on behalf of our Condo Association. Recently, I hired them to replace the SumpPro battery backup unit for our building sump pumps.

The unit is located in a hard to reach area only about 4 feet tall and it weighs a total of 200 lbs with batteries. So i'd have to say, it's a back breaker of job. The guys showed up on time as I have come to expect from Vanguard. They removed the old unit and installed the new unit in under an hour. They left the area cleaner than what it was before they showed up. And Jan from Vanguard follows up after the job is completed to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction, which it was.

I looked on line for the prices of new SumpPro battery backup units (not including shipping costs), and the price was the same as what Vanguard quoted me. And of course, the quote from Vanguard included installation. So the decision to hire Vanguard was a no-brainer since the alternative was to pay more to buy it myself and I'd still have to do the installation.

I will continue to call Vanguard for my plumbing needs because I know I can count on them to do a thorough job and not take any short cuts.

Needed a plumber familiar with (and undaunted by) the quirky plumbing surprises an 80+ year old building can present so once again, and of course, I turned to Vanguard Plumbing for their expertise. The owner, Jan, is very knowledgeable and accommodating, quickly getting me on the schedule, and his tech, George, knows his stuff and did excellent work, as usual (he’s repaired/replaced a few things in ‘this old condo’, over the years). With his assistant, Chris, they worked a small miracle replacing a slow, old tub drain, replacing faulty shut off valves (including two, original red-knobbed room shut offs) and recapping an above-floor capped radiator pipe so it’s now below the floor so my new marble flooring will be obstruction-free! I also really like how accommodating they all are with all of my questions. I don’t want to get in their way, but I do appreciate being able to learn a few things about our plumbing system (that’s even more ‘vintage’ than me!).

I had water leaking under my sink when I called Jan on December 12th. Jan troubleshooted the issue over the phone and diagnosed the issue as my garbage disposal had worn out and was leaking water. Jan was able to come out the next day and install a new Insinkerator Badger 5 Garbage Disposal. This solved the issue and I am very happy with his work. Hired Jan as a specialist to review a sewer oddity found in general inspection on a SFH purchase. That was quickly identified, however Jan also took the time to go over all of the plumbing with me. Jan most recently saved me $8,000 from what a BIG chain plumber quoted me, and he fixed the problem in less than three hours. They will NEVER take advantage of you, or try to rip you off, just tell you exactly what your house needs to get the plumbing fixed, and then they do it. They are very experienced in older plumbing systems as well. I have used them 7-8 times or more. If you're unsure about what to do, or what a plumber has told you and want a second opinion, give them a call. Their charges are quite reasonable for the excellent service they provide. Jan and his team always do an excellent job. We had a number of small plumbing tasks, including the replacement of a toilet, that we need to have completed in relatively short order, and Vanguard delivered. I rely on them for all of our plumbing requirements.

I had to replace a toilet in a bathroom where the spaces were tight. After viewing photographs, Jan figured out the one model, a Gerber Viper, that would fit in the space. They were able to schedule me in very quickly. George, an experienced plumber, and Chris, an apprentice, hauled the new toilet up three flights of stairs, put it together, installed it, and then hauled the old toilet away, and remained pleasant and calm during the whole process. Dealing with the 90-year-old pipes in my bathroom must have been challenging, but it actually took a little less time than had been estimated. Everything was cleaned up before they left.

Vangaurd has been my plumber in Chicago for many years. He has fixed a number of things including leaky toilet, low water pressure, slow drain, and kitchen sink water valve. He communicates well with what problems he finds and recommended solutions and goes above and beyond to solve other hidden problems that prevent larger plumbing issues in the future.

This is a real five stars. I have dealt with a few plumbers in the city and there is often the back and forth of going to home depot, overcharging on materials, unclear statements of work and finally, the age old surprise bill at the end. Jan and his crew were so transparent, professional, and efficient that I will never go with another company in Chicago.

I highly recommend Vanguard. This is the second time we’ve used them for rodding out the tree roots in our sewer line (yes, they grow back over time!). Jan is always very courteous and transparent while inspecting and performing the work, and always shows up on time with calls beforehand to confirm.

Very honest, professional and timely. They engineered a good solution for our water heater, which was originally done with the wrong pipes 20 years ago by a different contractor. They also discovered our old one was not venting the c02, and repaired this issue and saved our lives.

Jan and George have done 5 different jobs for me at a couple different places that I've lived: (1) Fix and replace a leaking toilet flange that someone else improperly installed before I bought my condo, (2) Replaced my leaking water heater (3) Replace a leaking shower valve as well as old supply lines to the valve + install new quarter-turn shutoffs, (4) install a new zero-freeze exterior hose bib plus an interior quarter-turn shutoff to the hose bib and (5) replace leaking sewage pipes.

Every single job was done with a very high level of detail. When these guys sweat pipes, every joint is perfect. They clean off residual flux after they make connections. They properly anchor pipes in walls so there is no movement in the pipes when you open and close valves. They route pipes and install shutoff valves where there is easy access to the valves... etc etc. Of all the tradesman that I've hired to do work on my current or previous homes, I probably trust these guys more than anyone else to do exceptional, high-quality work on every job.

Vanguard Plumbing is a very reliable contractor who does high quality work, and maintains excellent customer communication. They are the only plumbing service that we use now.

Our condo had a very tricky leak to find in a very difficult place between the basement and the first floor. Vangaurd's team came out and tried to exhaust all options of getting to it without knocking out walls first. When that failed they did a great job of making the smallest hole possible to get to the offending pipe between floors and fix it. The crew was pleasant and knowledgable walking us through what they were doing at each step.

We had a sewer smell coming from the washer closet but couldn't tell where from because we cant get behind the washer. The two plumbers knew right away it would be the floor drain and moved the stacked washer/dryer to access. This was a pain because of the tight setup of the washer/dryer being inside a closet. After they fixed the smell (refilled the p-trap with water) they adjusted the legs on the washer so that if this happens again, I can access the drain myself without pulling the units out.
