We had a leak and J. Blanton Plumbing was able to send someone right away to take a look at. The technician, Jacob was very professional, provided great consultation on the issues and options available. He did a great job on the repairs and had them done quickly. Will definitely be using them again for all our plumbing needs.

Andrew and Joey were very professional! I needed a plumbing vent installed and Andrew came out promptly to look at the project scope. The quote was reasonable and they completed the job in half a day. They communicated every step of the way and the quality of work was great!! I highly recommend their services.

This is the second time I have hired J Blanton Plumbing on a new water problem. The first time was earlier this year after both the sump and ejection pumps failed, filling the basement with several inches of water. The company is located in town. They responded quickly, assessed the problem and fixed the basement water problem over the course of several days. They dug a new sump pit, installed a new pump with battery backup and alarm. Then they patched all visible cracks in the 70 plus year cement foundation and installed a new drainage system around the house. Finally, they put up a waterproof membrane around the entire basement. They were incredibly communicative and responsive to all questions and explained their recommendations and work in an easy to understand manner.When I discovered one of the upstairs toilets leaking, I did not hesitate to call Blanton.Jake arrived within an hour of my call. He’s an excellent communicator and explained what was happening and how he was going to fix it. He had all the necessary parts with him so there was no delay or downtime. Jake worked quickly and left no mess behind him. While Jake was checking the basement to see if the toilet leak caused any damage in the basement, he inspected our aged water heater and gave an estimate for a replacement when it dies. I really appreciate that he voluntarily looked for any additional plumbing problems and provided a heads up for me.I highly recommend J Blanton and will not hesitate to call them in the future when a plumbing problem arises.

We had an emergency which is always really alarming!Kyle was manned the phone lines. He was calm, informative and reassuring. He called us back as he said he would and followed through reliably. I really appreciated that.Jake was the plumber who repaired our ejector pump - which we did not know anything about in our new home!Jake was super patient with all of our questions and concerns and explained the system to us so we could best understand all that we could.I strongly recommend this company!

I had a plumbing emergency and reached out to J. Blanton. They got me on the schedule within a few hrs of the call. Andrew A. showed up in time and quickly provided repair options and pricing. Here is my update...I had a toilet installed on Thursday. The 4-hour window I was given on Thursday closed and then I was given another 4-hour window for that afternoon. So I wasted my whole day. Although the technicians were very nice, and the experience was quick and thorough , 24 hours after moving into my new place where I had a toilet installed, the toilet stopped working. A brand new toilet that I purchased from this company that they installed failed. No solids would flush down the toilet. The water just kept spinning all of the solid waste. This was pretty disgusting. Considering that it's a brand new toilet and I just had it installed, this was a really deflating and angering experience to have. When I called the plumbing company they said that they would be able to send a technician the next day and wanted to give me another 4-hour window. So now I've taken multiple days off of work for their blunder.I purchased a toilet from them. I had the option of choosing to purchase something myself cheaper, however I did not and I am glad I did not. Had I done that they would not have offered any support. I spent a lot of money buying things from them that I could have gotten a lot cheaper had I bought it on my own. To pay $1600 to get a toilet that doesn't work is pretty ridiculous. This is some of the poorest customer service for a problem that they created. Everybody was really kind and nice and friendly to me when I was spending money. But now when it came for their product and job to perform, they're really giving me the runaround. Do not use this service!Below is what I wrote initially...This company is amazing! Andrew came out and did a very thorough and succinct assessment, presented me with several options after listening very attentively, and then came up with a plan that worked with my timeline. Connor came out to do the actual installation and was simply magical! He was kind and explained the process to me, and did a fantastic job, very quickly might I add. Both of these guys are true gems and deserve a raise!Great experience, highly highly highly recommend.

Jake from J Blanton was right on time and east to work with. He identified two issues with our water heater and gave us several options to consider. We opted to have our broken heater replaced and Jake was able to have the old one removed and the new installed in a matter of hours. We appreciated his service, communication and efficiency and will be using J Blanton for our future plumbing needs.

Conner came out and replaced our new water heater a few weeks ago and did an awesome job. For some reason we were having issues maintaining hot water. The company was amazing in responding to our questions we had and willing to come out again at no charge. Shane came out and was able to figure out the problem very quickly and we finally have hot water! We are so thankful for the work they did! I would highly recommend them!

Had a great experience with J. Blanton. My phone call was answered promptly and they were able to have someone out at the beginning of the time window offered.Drew arrived on time and had everything he needed to replace my garbage disposal. He gave me a couple options and talked me through the pros and cons of each. He was thorough and showed me how to do some basic troubleshooting on my own if I ever had to.Hoping I don't have plumbing issues in the future, but if I ever did, I would definitely use Blanton (and would request Drew!) again.

Shane provided both sump pump repair and recommendations and a second visit for diagnosis and repair for routing the sewer line. He explained what was causing the problems and also explained what he was going to do and why. He was very polite and patient and made sure I understood everything.I was completely satisfied with a job well done.Initially, Andrew came out to replace the sump pump and he also was very good about explaining what needed to be done and what I needed to do to maintain it.I have been very happy with timely response to my call and professional service.Thank you . So scheduling the appointment was fast and easy and whomever I spoke to was really pleasant and informed me the time and techs that were coming. Wally was the technician that came out and he was efficient in finding out what was going on and resolved a huge issue in a timely manner. Recommendations were made and explained to my mother and I in detailed. Will be a returning customer. Highly recommend! Thank you Wally!

I hired J.Blanton to repair a washing machine. The technician seemingly did a good job, until it was clear that he had not re-connected the water before leaving. I had to hire someone else to complete his work because the J.Blanton tech did not check his work before departing.Furthermore, it was later discovered that while cutting out a piece of drywall to do the work, the technician cut entirely THROUGH the wall into the next room, causing more damage and forcing me to incur additional repair costs.Lastly, I have not used them since June 2019 and they STILL message me for feedback and surveys on the work they (didn't) do 3 years ago. Would recommend you take your business elsewhere for your plumbing needs.

Had them out for a simple valve replacement. They were quick and got the work done the same day, that's the reason for 3 stars. Otherwise, I was quoted $400 for a job that should cost half that. Literally replacing a single valve that took less than 2 hours counting from walking through the door to leaving. The technician quoting the work said he couldn't do anything about the price. When I called the head office they said the same thing so I accepted it because I was already out $50 and had wasted time just to have him come out. If they had fixed pricing like this, I should have been quoted it over the phone before they came. After weeks of trying to speak to a manager, I finally spoke to someone and was told the price was non-negotiable and since I had agreed at the time, that was that. They even have a special offer on their webpage with no restrictions, but he refused to honor that comparing plumbing services to buying a cheeseburger. So here's your warning, expect to pay a lot for a little and make sure you mention the special offer up front.

The company is pricey. Hopefully it pays off in years to come. They are willing to put in the effort to work in high rises with strict paperwork requirements and engineers.

Drew Jameson expertly and professionally replaced the old faucet mounted on our pedestal sink. He was pleasant and interested to know that we were satisfied with his work and fairly priced. Jake was great! He was able to quickly identify issues with the prior installation and install new pump, pipe and check valve. Then he properly sealed the cover. He cleaned up any mess and left rags so I could finish the cleanup.

This was my first experience with J. Blanton and will absolutely use them again. I had a routine inspection of my Gas Meter with People's Gas (who I would not give any stars) that surfaced a leak and my gas was disconnected. Jacob (and Jake) were resourceful, responsive and professional helping resolve it on the day promised even though it required working until midnight. Much appreciated. I'm grateful to have a service I can count on!

Be careful when booking appointments with this place. I called them regarding an emergency situation and was told that the company would have someone out to my home between 8am and 12pm the following day. I needed to pay $49.00 to reserve the appointment.The next day, nobody showed up nor did anyone call to indicate a delay or cancellation. I called and was told that their technicians were running behind and would arrive shortly. A version of this call took place three more times before I ultimately had to leave my home around 4pm and cancelled the appointment. I was told on the phone that my money would be refunded that same day.Despite multiple promises to refund the money and multiple calls, I did not receive my money back until I disputed the charge with my credit card company. A few of the calls I was also told that an investigation into the validity of my claims would need to occur before a refund could take place which honestly upset me the most.Please note that I did not receive any service from this company so I am not commenting on the quality of work, just the experience indicated above.

Dave did a fantastic job. There was a bit of a delay/confusion on my original work date but it was sorted and Dave came in not having been apart of the original diagnosis but he knew exactly what needed to be done. He got things done quickly and clean. The work looks far more professional than other plumbing services I've had done recently. High recommended. Prices are fair and they are upfront with how much things cost. No hidden fees or anything like that.

We use J. Blanton for most of our plumbing needs. I've been happy with the service they provide. Kind of costly but most plumbers are. My only concern is the billing was not itemized with the price for each service. I called the office and they will provide the information I need. The Customer Service is great. Technicians are informative and explain details and pricing. The labor and work are excellent. Andrew and Jason provided outstanding service. Great Customer Experience. One thing I would recommend is all services are not mutually inclusive, itemize!

My sump pump stopped working and I needed it to be replaced. J. Blanton had the best price (others quoted me $300 more) and Kurt came once to diagnose the problem and then to install my new pump. His work was thorough, took as long as he said it would and not any longer, didn't throw any surprises at me and scheduling was a breeze. I was pleased with my decision to use J. Blanton. I have had at least four other plumbing companies come in to fix this problem and none have been entirely successful. Drew was amazing! He knew exactly what to do he did it quickly and efficiently he was super nice and very professional. At this point I highly recommend this company.

Our sewer backed up in the basement and has always been an issue for so many issues. We did constantly services to it but the problem would always come back, until we called J Blanton! Andrew and his partner explained of why our sewer backed up and services to prevent it from happening again. He is professional and friendly. They completed the job very quickly. Although it is expensive, the quality is top notch. It’s been 4 days and we haven’t had any issues. Thank you to Andrew and the team!

Had a pipe in need of urgent repair, Andrew A. & Joey M. came out quickly to diagnose the full extent of the issue, replaced a pipe stack through our whole house in one day. Super professional and helpful, answered all our questions and gave some additional great suggestions. Would use again or recommend any day.

Kurt from J Blanton Plumbing helped diagnose and fix the source of a leak (i.e.g, soft material pipe blockage) in quick order. He was great, and the rest of the J Blanton staff was super responsive in terms of getting a technician out here quickly. I will definitely use them for my plumbing needs in the future!

Shane and crew were awesome! We had our sewer line clogged and sewage water flooding our basement. After calling around to see who could come out in an emergency situation after hours, the guys from J Blanton were here earlier than expected, rodding out the line and were able to get the clog removed and provide detailed insight into what caused the issue (including send a camera through the sewer line) and ways to prevent it in the future. During a disastrous situation it’s great knowing you have competent professionals on the job working to rectify the issue. If we had to wait until morning for a plumber to fix the issue, our basement would have been completely destroyed…so thank you Shane!

If I could give more stars I would. We had a back up in our sewer system in our home. This company sent someone out to assess the situation immediately. Shout out to Dave, he was efficient and on top of our case. He gave us his number and made all of the necessary calls to get us back in service as soon as possible. Our plumbing crew that came to fix the problem was amazing! Sean, Jason, and Steve were just the best. My house was a special case to say the least and they handled it no problem. They were understanding of how important it was for me to get this fixed as my husband travels and I was alone with my 4 yr old with no plumbing. They reassured me through the entire job that they will not leave without getting this fixed, kept me informed thorugh out the job, and answered all of my questions. I could really go on and on about how amazing these men were, but I will finish this review with this statement. I will never call another plumbing company again and I will always request this crew because they are amazing people and they know what they are doing. Thank you to them again for all of their help. I cannot thank you enough for all that you did!

Lou was excellent’ He clearly explained each step he was taking to get our shower working. At first he thought he waoild have to rebuild our ancient cartridge, but he was able to find one nearby.The shower runs like new! We have used J. Blanton for our major plumbing needs for some years, and can heartily recommend them .

Had an issue with our dishwasher and sink so called JB Plumbing to have someone take a look. Really liked the communication via text and calling to set up, confirm, and remind me about the appointment. Shane was our technician and he was prompt, professional, and extremely helpful. He took a look at both issues and was able to provide clear explanations for what was going on and what our options were for moving forward. Overall, a great experience and will definitely be using JB in the future for any plumbing needs.

They sent Shane to do a quick sump pump inspection. The service provided was informative and quick with no up-selling or anything thing like that. There is a $50 appointment booking fee but that won’t deter me from using them in the future for all of my plumbing needs.

Jake did a very good job. The snow storm delayed his arrival considerably. Due to the extensive work he had to do, we determined Sunday morning would be best. He had no more appts for the night. He got called out at 9 PM on another call, did not get home until after 2 in the AM. Arrived to complete our issue at around 2 in the PM, finished at 5:30. Very professional and friendly. Highly recommend

Wally and Joey were amazing! Super understanding of the what was happening and what needed to be done. They were kind and positive! Explained everything to me as they went along! They came in and got the job done in no time! I highly highly recommend them and this company! Can’t wait to get in their yearly maintain program.

I had this company out in February to fix a pipe and toilet. They did a fine job but it was very expensive. But the water pressure in the downstairs apartment was very low afterwards. I did sign up for the no drip club to avoid future plumbing fee service visits and for the household inspection. I scheduled 4 inspections and they failed to show up for each one stating they could not get a hold of me. I told them they do not need to call to confirm, I’m confirming now, I will be home. The manager said he will make that note. They still did not show up.They came out for another job and charged me 6k for cleaning the drains and I asked for an itemized bill and it just read: drain cleaning- 6k. They jetted the lines, pumped the basin, and cleaned the access drain of some roots and left the roots with sewage in my front yard.This company is terrible. Do not use them. I’ve included a photo of the sewage in my yard.

The technician was personable and seemed to know his craft. He seemed genuine with his recommendations and the installation of the new toilet went smoothly it looks like. The toilet works for now, but I'll give an update if anything changes. His service I would give a 5 star rating to. I gave 4 stars because I think it is stupid to have the price for the toilet replacement/installation for new one be a flat cost even if a different toilet option costs less. That just seems greedy from the company and misleading for incentives. The toilet I got is fine, but if I wanted a $100 toilet instead for example, the cost shouldn't be the same as a $300 dollar toilet for the whole service.

The poor review is due to the price of the service. A plumber came out and fixed a bathtub drain that was backed up. The tech was professional and fixed it within 10 minutes. However, the price for this service was $730, which was extremely high. I'm not an expert on plumbing, however I did some google searching and the price for similar services seemed to be between $200 - $400. If you use this service, I would get a quote before a tech comes on site. You will be able to find a company who will do this work for much less.

Very happy with the service I received. Frozen pipe under our back porch, instant emergency. Fast response, on a Wednesday night (along with many others with the exact same problem as mine, I’m sure), fixed the problem, and was extremely nice, and easy to interact with. I always dread a need for emergency services, but this was relatively painless. Thank you, I’m sure I’ll be calling again, but I’m hoping not too soon..

Andrew from J .Blanton plumbing was great to work with. He arrived within the expected window and quickly diagnosed the work needed to adjust the gas line feeding my new stove. Additionally he was able to find the cause of a leak below my kitchen sink. The work was completed very quickly and he explained what he was doing and what could be done to avoid the problem going forward. I would definitely trust Andrew and J. Blanton to provide plumbing services to me in the future!

My husband and I initially called J Blanton to come check out a potential clogged drain under our washer/dryer unit. We put down a deposit and were told someone would be out between 9-12. No one came during that time and we received zero updates. We called multiple times throughout the day to inquire if/when someone would be out. It eventually got so late that we requested a cancellation and our money back. Although we never received plumbing services from them do not recommend based on the scheduling disaster alone.

We discovered leaking water and ended up having to have a lot of plumbing replaced, as well as a tub that was damaged in the process. The job was done really well, and while it took a while to get resolved (more of a scheduling issue I think), all the technicians (Lou, Steve) were excellent and easy to work with.

My service rep was very respectful of my apartment and the job was done very quickly. The ONLY thing that I wish was different was that his van was out front for awhile (15 mins) before he rang my doorbell. It was 11pm. I thought he was reviewing the job but when he saw the job he wanted a cc, and would not do the job w/out it. My landlord has a cc on file and the iPad (system he uses) should know that. I had to run down the buildings’ manager for him. I understood his rationale but what are you doing in the van I front of the building? Again it only bothered me because I was so exhausted due to it being late. Otherwise he was a nice guy that was in and out quickly.

Andrew and Joey are the best plumbers in Chicago! These two are both knowledgeable and efficient. They handled the plumbing issue with ease and are extremely professional. Would recommend them to anyone I know!! Thanks guys!

Company was promtp in scheduling a technician, but the reason for the 2 stars was the sales tactics. The tech came out looked at our pipes/flooded area for less than 5 minutes and then quoted me $8000 for digging up my basement and seeing if the issue is a pipe under ground. After I asked a few questions, he said he “talked to his boss” and if we do this today he would only charge $5000 but that price was only good until Monday and after Monday it’s back to $8k. He may be correct about the fix needed, however I felt like I was being sold by a used car salesman. Made me question the integrity of the tech and the company. Prob not a bad company but with SO many others out there, I wouldnt start here.

I called two plumbing companies to check a broken sump pump and flooded basement (a pretty urgent issue) around 11:30am. Blanton were at my house to check out the issue by 12:30pm, started work at 3:45, and were completely done around 5. I still haven't heard back from the other company. Couldn't have asked for quicker service.

I seriously have 0 idea how this business has over a 4 star rating. I don’t write reviews but I am not happy so have to share my experience. Here is exactly what has happened with J Blanton.I called and booked an appointment with an 8am-12pm window last Saturday. The technician arrived at *3:30PM*. He worked until 6:30PM which was frustrating bc he was 3 hours late, and none of us wanted to be doing this at nearly 7PM on Saturday night. His fellow came who was starving and hadn’t eaten all day so I brought him some potato chips, but allow your people proper breaks.The technician did not finish the job because he didn’t have the part + it was late + his wife’s birthday. But instead of saying, “we’ll finish this up ASAP,” they wanted to charge me an additional $400 to fix the remaining leak on another day.I called to complain because if he had just come on time, I could have run over to Ace quickly and gotten him that part so we could finish. Ace was closed by this time.Today is the new service day.I, again, have an “8am-12noon” window, but it is now *5:00 pm* — 5 hours after window closed, and the technician is still not here.This place is unreliable, untrustworthy, and frankly borderline unethical trying to charge another $400 fee for an unfinished job when it’s their fault for being late in the first place. Do not recommend.

Joey went above and beyond to get my sink clear and my new garbage disposal installed. It’s clear that customer service is a priority for him - he cleaned everything up afterwards, showed me some tips and tricks for keeping my new disposal running smoothly and was friendly throughout the appointment. 5 stars!

Carlos helped me fix some plumbing leaks during the bomb cyclone. He was great! He communicated to me what the problems were and what his potential solutions were. Then went ahead and took care of it exactly like he said! I’ll definitely hire him again! He was easy to communicate with and helped my tenants understand the issues too. Thx Carlos!

Had a water heater installed and then later had some servicing work done. Andrew and Joey were extremely knowledgeable and very friendly throughout the process. Very professional and thorough.

It would appear my original review disappeared...hmmNot happy...called Blanton to unclog a toilet line. I was offered only TWO options. First: Band-Aid -PA4a Sanitary Waste Removal System Rejuvenation for $696 (and already paid the $49 just to make an appointment). Quote #2 Silver-PA4C Main Sanitary Waste Removal System Renovation and with a NEW TOILET(???) : $1392...thought that was strange to have only 2 choices without the 2 guys even knowing what they are getting into. So, they pulled the toilet and rodded the line...they were in and gone in an hour and a half..a simple Google search will show what plumbers charge by the hour. I paid $745 for 2 guys/1 and a half hours. I called and talked to a service manager( who said I'd get the $49 refunded (???). So, feeling pretty ripped off after this. The two young men that showed up were very professional...kudos to them for they are just the messengers, can't fault them. Never did get the camera footage inside the pipes either. Jake, our technician, was absolutely excellent. He was friendly, professional, and thoughtful - with excellent communication skills. And he clearly knew what he was doing - his knowledge and expertise were impressive. He made us feel comfortable in the midst of a crazy Christmas Eve in which we had a pipe burst and significant water damage - nothing anyone ever wants to deal with. He worked quickly and efficiently, staying upbeat through the whole thing - which took a few hours and many many many trips up and down multiple sets of stairs between two units. Incredibly grateful for his 5+ star service - especially late on a holiday. Would highly recommend him and J Banton. And we already have other plumbing plans for our building this spring - and J Blanton will be getting our call.

Had to have them come out on New Years Day. Dave and Matt were here for a few hours and determined the issue and way to correct it and handled everything I needed all while being pleasant to be around. They explained the issues clearly and upfront about everything and have them scheduled to come back for the bigger issue that was uncovered. Can’t recommend these guys enough.

Andrew and Joey were awesome! They arrived first thing in the morning to replace an old leaking water heater. They seemed very knowledgeable and efficient. They were very pleasant and professional. Great service!

My tenants shower wasn't draining, so they called J Blanton to come to in to inspect and do the work. Before they would arrive, I needed to pay a $49 dollar fee which would be credited to the final invoice. The next day they arrived at around 930pm CT and I was oversees. In the morning I noticed a few missed calls. When I reached out to the tenant, they said J Blanton wouldn't start the work without getting the payment from me first. Good thing, because when they sent over the invoice it was for $407 with a very obscure description of work Band-aid- pA1A waste system rejuvenation There were no notes or any other type of descriptions. When I asked the tenant what did they say they would do, she said they were going to snake the drain ( aka rod the drain ). I reached out to J blanton to confirm this was the case. The customer service rep on the line was very nice, however when I asked her to tell me what Band-aid- pA1A waste system rejuvenation meant, she said she wasn't sure and would have the technician call me ASAP. 3 more calls to their office, I finally got a call back from the technician 36 hours later ( I don't know how busy they were, so it’s hard for me to gauge capacity, however that seemed like a very long time). When I spoke to Dave the technician, I asked him what needed to be done and he said rodding of the drain. I then mentioned how $407 for a rodding is extremely expensive considering most drain rodding falls within $225-$300. I let him know I wasn’t going to pay that amount and he then mentioned that there is a “$100 discount voucher” I can use from online or something. I thanked him for calling me back and hung up.To me, this felt like they were trying to take advantage of 3 girls that weren’t familiar with pricing. It felt like they were trying to go as high as possible to see what would stick before offering this $100 discount. The obscure description only adds to the confusion and I was really put off by this experience.We ended up going with Excel Plumbing and asked what a rodding for a drain would cost, they said $279, assuming it was a simple rodding. They did the work and charged me $279.J Blanton- I would recommend providing a more detailed description in the notes and avoid obscure word play. I would also recommend providing transparent pricing and keeping it within a fair range. I lost $49 dollars, which is a shame but not the end the end of the world.

Andrew and Jose came out to diagnose a ceiling leak for us. They made it out the same day and were very professional in explaining our options to us. It turned out to be a roofing leak, instead of a water pipe leak, but they also installed two new water shutoffs for us. Overall, they were efficient, professional, and prices were reasonable. Would definitely call them again for plumbing needs.

Andrew came out and diagnosed the problem quickly. He was very professional and courteous. I would definitely ask for him again if I ever was in need of plumbing services.

I have used J. Blanton several times in emergency situations. They are the one company I can get to my house at any time and they have fixed the problem every time. Most recently, on Christmas Eve, I came home to find water in my downstairs from a burst pipe. The damage was significant. J. Blanton was on site within hours and the problem was fixed. Several years ago my hot water heater went out in winter. They were onsite and able to replace my heater within a very short amount of time. I have continued to use J. Blanton for routine services and find them responsive and reasonable. Their plumbers are all very knowledgeable and get the job done.

Shane Waychoff was our technician... he did a great job and rolled with all the discoveries that were required to solve our plumbing issues. If you like to do things right, and you have an old house where previous owners may have cut corners, Shane and J. Blanton should be in your contact list.

I was a little confused when I called for today's visit. I'm new to having sump and ejector pumps and asked about routine servicing of my units because I'd never had them before and they said they provided such a service. While they put me on the schedule the same day, all the technician did was try to sell me a new system and a hydro-jetting service which I do not need. I was clear my units are functioning normally and well and the purpose of the visit was to perform routine maintenance if there is any to be done. Instead of a professional trade outfit, this felt like I paid $49 for a sales pitch.

We hired J.Blanton plumbing to replace a cast iron flange that holds down the toilet in the bathroom of my parents home.They sent over shane who serviced and repaired the corroded flange.After he finished the installation of the flange he walked me through the process of the repair and provided images of what was done.He also tested the toilet once everything was back in place.We really enjoyed that he was able to explain everything in sinple terms that we could understand.

They showed up first thing on a Sunday morning. Not only did they quickly diagnose and fix our problem, they took a little extra time to give us a quick crash course on how we could prevent this issue from happening next winter. Will definitely call them again if we have any other issues.

Had appointment scheduled for 3 days told would be there 12-4pm at 3pm was called and told tech running late. When I asked how late, was told there was 3 yes three appts before they get out to me. Couldn't give any kind of ETA. Took day off work for this, when I told them to cancel they start telling me how they will be out in the am tomorrow as if they have any reliability. Would never call again or suggest to anyone.

We have had multiple problems with our drains in the past and our technician Dave came out and made sure we would not have any more problems. This has been ongoing for a while and it is nice to know that they solved our problem.

Andrew and Justin were the two plumbers that helped install a garbage disposal, new faucet, and update our kitchen plumbing. They were efficient and very professional. Andrew was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done but wasn’t pushy in trying to sell anything. Biggest downside was that it was a bit on the expensive side compared to other plumbers but the professionalism and speed to get in was great.

When I called for the first time, I received a prompt and immediate response. I was calling on a non-emergency inspection of plumbing in my newly purchased home and they were there that afternoon and did excellent and quick work on the spot. Drew was very nice and efficient and explained all the things he was doing for my future knowledge and benefit. When you are not an expert (like myself) and a first time home owner, it is nice to have someone explain how things work without talking down or at you. Drew explained things in a manner a novice (like myself) could understand to get a better grasp on what was happening. The team at J. Blanton are always so friendly and reliable. Anytime I have a plumbing emergency (and I use the word emergency 'cause let's face it - these sorts of issues are often hard to anticipate), I never even consider calling anyone else. The dispatchers at the office are incredibly helpful and understanding of my specific needs. For the most recent job, they got a technician, Wally, over to my apartment within a couple of hours of my call (even earlier than the original ETA). I work from home and was in the middle of a shift, but I knew I could confidently let Wally do his thing while I focused on my work. He was fast, polite, and got my kitchen sink fixed without any mess! The price was right, too, especially for the amazing quality and service!

Andrew and Joey were friendly and helpful. They explained the steps for solving the problem (clogged drain) and gave me the estimate before proceeding. I paid $400 for unclogging the clogged drain. The repair was swift and painless.

DO NOT USE J BLANTON PLUMBING. First time I used them, there was no issue. Second time I used them for a high-rise job, I kept calling and asked them if they got the paperwork in they said yes. Called the building, they said NO. this went on for a week or so and I could not get them into the building. So I decided to give them a second try. So I have them out to another property to give an estimate. We uncover another plumbing issue and and for a quote for both. $49 trip charge, and its over 2 weeks later and I still dont have both estimates. Thats 33% success rate. This is only good in baseball. I would just go somewhere else.

I want to start off by saying that the plumber who actually completed the repair did a fine job, but every step leading up to that occurence was needlessly stressful. I had a horrible experience with various people who worked in the office over the course of the day, each of whom gave me different and conflicting answers to my questions, which included real head-scratchers like What time is the plumber arriving; according to you they were supposed to arrive two hours ago? I wasted an entire day alternating between calling and waiting. I got a lot of empty excuses and apologies, when in fact if anyone had just told me at any point We're swamped, so we'll have to send someone tomorrow, I would have been annoyed, but at least within reason, and able to plan ahead for my own sake.To make a long story short I am never going to use J. Blanton again because of my circa 8 hour wait and the totally ineffective communication between the main office and the plumber(s).I also think I was overcharged to boot, so I can't even say I got what I paid for. But thanks for all the free frustration!

I had J Blanton Plumbing install overhead sewers, sump pump, battery back up, drain tile, ejector pump, and new piping from the house to the city’s piping with two clean outs. Very big project. By the time they started working on-site until they finished it was about 2.5 weeks. The guys that worked on the project were very nice and personable. The people in the office always called to let me know that they were on their way. There were small hiccups here and there, but overall I was happy with the people, happy with the work conducted and happy with the price. I would have no hesitation hiring J Blanton again to do more work.

On Monday, October 3, 2022, my toilet almost overflowed. The bowl would fill up almost to the rim but wouldn’t go down. Not until a minute or so when it would gradually go down to almost empty and give me a couple of belches. Had this issue before. Every so often, I was able to resolve it, seemingly by continuous plunging and by pouring hot/boiling water into the bowl. Has to be some sort of blockage. I wasn’t going to deal with this on my own again. Called Blanton plumbing and described my issue and set up an appointment for a tech to come the following day.Tech shows up for my scheduled appointment. Shane. I was immediately at ease with him. Professional in appearance. Polite. Well spoken. And listened. And as I learned during the appointment, very knowledgeable. I described my issue and my concerns and we went over all of the possible causes and all of the possible remedies.as well as all the costs of each in great detail. And absolutely no hard sell, I was very pleased. I decided on the best remedy in my opinion. And Shane agreed.that that would have been his choice if that was an issue that he was dealing with at his home.We set up an appointment for next week. The extra time needed because of the time needed for the special order of a 10” rough-in round toilet which is not commonly available.Before Shane left, I asked if he would be the one performing the work. Shane said “Yes”. I couldn’t be happier and am looking forward to the next appointment with no worries. No reservations. I want to point out that I usually post rather stellar reviews and have left very few poor reviews on Google. However, I feel that my experience with JP Blaunton should be shared. A neighbor who had used their services recommended them to me for a new faucet installation. I called and asked them for an estimate. The man who answered the phone said that they couldn't give a quote because every job is different. He said they would charge a 79$ fee that would be deducted from the job if I decided to use their services. I asked if they did Saturday appointments and he said yes. I booked an appointment a month out but oddly enough, he did not take my credit card or even point out to me that Saturday was overtime for plumbers. No one called or emailed to confirm the appointment, so I ended up calling to confirm the day before. The arrival window they gave me was between 12-4 pm (but how would I have known this window if no one was going to inform me?). Saturday arrived, and no one to be found between 12-4  At 5 pm, and after SEVERAL calls and an attempt to live chat them (zero response) inquiring where they were, two young men appeared at my door. Very quickly, one young man pulled out his iPad and showed me the price ranges for the faucet installation: $580 to almost $1800!! I said no way, that's ridiculous and funny how your booking person specifically stated they didnt have any price estimates! He said that's the price, Saturday is overtime. I said well yeah i have a quote from another plumber for $323 and how would I know Saturday is overtime when I only use a plumber once every ten years. I was firm that I would not pay their prices and was ready to say to have a nice day. He said he would text his boss to see if they could price match. He texts and the boss says yes at $343. I said my quote was $323. We looked at each other. He said ok. They took out old faucet and installed the new one in approximately 40 minutes total. As he installed the faucet, he was telling me that it costs his company a minimum of $600 bucks to send people out on each job and that the technicians get paid vacation, a 401k, health insurance, etc., and that the other plumber who gave me a quote probably didn't have the overhead that his company had. Personally, I absolutely want contractors to have all those benefits but as a consumer, I want transparency and fairness. At the end, he takes my credit card info on the iPad; however, I have no receipt, either in paper or email. He verbally told me they guarantee their work for 30 days. They left and I then noticed hairline scratches on the front of the faucet that were not there when I opened the new faucet box for them. I am aggravated by these scratches  Such a stressful experience, not interested in having anything more to do with them. Not sure if they treat male clients better but definitely felt like I was given second rate service. Definitely would not recommend.

My technician, Sean (happy birthday!) was an absolute rock star. We had a problem with a leak underneath the kitchen sink, which was due to have the faucet replaced anyway. Sean had the water shut off to the building for 20, maybe 30, minutes, and we were DONE! Faucet looks great, working great, and Sean had done a great job suggesting what needed to be done. My roommate said when he came for the estimate, he diagnosed the problem with one look. Will continue to use J Blanton!Coming back to add another review. Blanton plumbing was responsive, flexible, and professional. Shane was fabulous… We had a very tricky non-conventional pipe situation on an older home and he did everything he could to help us with a temporary fix in lieu of a bigger repair in the future to bring it up to code. I used this service on 9/13/22 for a ruptured pipe in the ceiling and behind the wall. The plumber Jake was on time, stopped the leak, and was able to precisely locate it which ended up being in a tight spot. Had an issue with and HVAC drain. Called at 6pm to schedule an appt and had Jacob come out the very next day. Jacob was exceedingly professional, assessed the issue, discussed options, and had the job completed in record time. Thank you Jacob! Will always call J Blanton for our plumbing needs!

Why I give 3 stars is the way it was priced, I called for clogged kitchen drain, person on the phone wouldn’t give me an estimate and he said the technician will assess and give you a price….technician showed up, I explained the issue same way I did on the phone, and got quoted $595!!! Until it was lowered to $300 (which was supposedly a great deal), I still think it was still super high compared to other services I checked out after!! Point being, get their Services but be careful with how they price your project.

A few days later, Shane came to replace our venting pipe on the system with a correct setup and angle coming out of the pit per Wally's recommendation. Great work was done by everyone. All of them were very thorough and explained everything they were doing in detail.

Andrew was diligent in efforts to extend warranty, and Steve came into work after leaving to complete the installation same day. UPDATE: they claim they have no record of me in the response below yet I get an email asking to leave a review because I am in their system.Came to investigate my shower leaking into downstairs neighbor's unit. Cut out drywall, said it was caulk on one wall of the tub. I was told it was repaired and to wait until noon the next day to try the shower. I go and look, and ZERO WORK was done! No redoing of caulk, no sealant. If I were to follow their instructions, it would have leaked into my neighbor's unit again.When I called, I was informed the company doesn't do caulk, and in one way or another, I was directly lied to. All of this cost $350, what a waste.I also did the recommended repair, and it still leaks! Zero accountability, they'll just take your money.

Our water heater pilot light went out—it turns out that the pilot light system had failed. The plumbers made a special effort to come on the same day. They provided a professional diagnosis and provided three options and then executed the option we selected, again on the same day. They did not have the exact right size valve, so they took the time to get the correct valve and installed it properly. We were very pleased with the great service.

Terrible, unethical, and dishonest business. Hired them to repair a leaky toilet. They inspected and gave me a quote and began work. 20 minutes later they called me to check out the toilet and said it was broken, with hairline cracks at the base of the toilet. There were no cracks prior to their working on it. Owner refused to replace the toilet or resolve the issue. Do not engage with this business.

My neighbor called J Blanton Plumbing to rod the sewer lines in the building. Their rod ended up coming up through my toilet and breaking it. J Blanton stated that they are not responsible for what their rod does after it enters the sewer line. Now I'm on my own to replace a toilet that was broken by a plumber that I didn't call. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

Carlos came out within an hour of me calling for service he and replaced the pump and check valve. The plumbers returned a few days later to replace a drain line and finish the job. The work was done quickly and thoroughly. We will use J Blanton again.

I called yesterday to get some plumbing fixed in my house and my upper level. They were here within 30 minutes of me calling which was amazing. They were not able to fix the problem and suggested to put a hole in a ceiling that way they can find out what's going on with the actual pipes. I really didn't want to but I knew this job had to be done. They came out today and the plumber said he wanted to use another technique which solved the problem. I am so grateful because this saved me time and money which I did not have and they were able to fix the problems within 30 minutes. Uncle Steve and Justin are an amazing team and I would suggest them to anybody.

Sean and Dean conducted a thorough assessment of my flood control system. An old catch basin had overflowed, and I wanted to figure out why. They took the time to check everything out with a camera, ran water from every location, checked ejector pump operation, and explained everything along the way. Everything was working properly, and the conclusion was that there might have been a temporary blockage or just way too much rain for the system to handle at the time of the overflow. They provided an estimate for removing the old catch basin, which I will do at some point, and the suggested things I could do in the meantime.

I had previously called J. Blanton Plumbing for a bathroom sink repair. I was so satisfied with the professionalism and overall repair that when my shower drain clogged up, I sourced J. Blanton again. They were quick to field my call and sent a technician over the same day. Jacob was extremely helpful, insightful, and professional. I had a great experience with J. Blanton Plumbing. I hit a water pipe while drilling into my wall and had to shut down the water to my building until it was fixed. Unfortunately they weren't able to make it out that night due to the pipe needed for the fix, but once they did show up the next day, they were very honest about what needed to be done, gave me a very accurate duration estimate and the price. From looking around I felt the price was very fair and the work was done in almost the exact amount of time promised. Couldn't have been happier.Edit: Since my first experience, I've had a second interaction with J. Blanton's. I had a clogged sink and needed to have someone come out to route it. I also needed a new U-drain pipe on my kitchen sink. The price quoted me was WAY higher than it should have been (confirmed by calling a single other plumber). I lost the $50 service fee, but saved $1300 by going elsewhere.

J Blanton Plumbing were lifesavers! My kitchen sink pipe was leaking and flooding my kitchen. I called them and they were responsive, professional and honest. As it was Sunday they mentioned a separate fee in addition to whatever the actual work would come to which would have been no charge to come and look at the problem had I been able to wait until Monday. We called J. Blanton Plumbing when we discovered our toilet was leaking. It was late in the day and they were quick to respond. Jacob arrived within an hour of our call. Unfortunately the repair couldn't be done that night because the shut off valve to our toilet did not work. Due to condo living we needed permission from all owners to turn off the water to the building. Jacob returned the next day and repaired the valve and the toilet within an hour. He also discovered that we had a sewer line in the basement that needed a cap. We were so impressed with the service that Jacob will be back next week to replace a kitchen faucet. We highly recommend J. Blanton for any plumbing needs.

Please be wary of using J Blanton- we paid them $70 to come evaluate our condo for a possible laundry install. My partner waited more than 8 hours over the course of 3 consecutive days while J Blanton blew us off. They finally came at 11pm on a Wednesday night, complained about how long their day was, and when we decided not to proceed with their company (because of how stressful it was to just get them to come assess our place)- they still have not given us the $70 back despite multiple calls and conversations. It’s been at least 6 months of trying to get a refund. So many excuses and incredibly unprofessional.

I booked an appointment for my parents' Rheem water heater that they had bought and installed 6 months prior. I was told this would be a free quote and they would be informed up front of the cost before work began which sounded great. The plumber arrived promptly and quoted my parents $1600 for the part he needed to fix it.They were appalled by the quote and of course did not want to spend that much money on a unit that cost them $1200. He charged them $180 and would't leave until he was paid. I was outraged upon hearing this and reached out to the company. I spoke with the plumber, who said they signed a contract for the $180. He stated he can't quote any repair unless he opens the unit and there is always a charge if he has to touch the unit. According to my parents', he rushed them to sign his tablet for showing up and never saw a contract. I got another plumber who fixed the problem. It turned out to be an igniter that Rheem ships out free. I asked to speak with the manager about resolution to this complaint on 2 occasions, but its been over 2 months and each time I was told the manager was out of town and would call me when he gets back. I called J Blanton because of all the good reviews they got, but after using them myself, I don't feel the reviews are warranted.

Second time using them and they were just as awesome. Our hot water heater wasn't firing up. They arrived early for the appointment (called and said they'd wait if I wasn't available yet). Talked me through everything they did, and solved the issue handily all while being extremely friendly, and professional. They were respectful of social distancing and even offered to have me pay over the phone after they left so I didn't have to exchange a card with them. We've got our plumber and have no plans to use anyone else. Thank you!

Terrible customer service, they set an appointment with me on Sunday to coming in Monday promising me that they would help with my emergency plumbing issue. The appointment was set between 8-12 on Monday 5/17. I confirmed with them, moved my scheduling around to accommodate. 11:30 comes around still no update I reach out and all they could give me was there’s still no update and we’ll call when we have one. About 15 minutes later still nothing and it’s reaching the 12pm mark. I call maybe 5 times from my cell and no one answered then I called from a different number and they answered told me they’ll send a message to the plumber and get back to me, I was being very patient and calm with Cheryl. But I’m obviously very frustrated. They finally call me back at 12:42 and I’m hoping that someone will be on their way and to my surprise whomever I spoke with lied and said he called me so many times and left messages which no I was calling, and said the plumber is at another job site and we don’t have an update on when we can come and that’s the best they can do. I mean as someone who was made promises, moved my schedule around to accommodate their super large appointment window to only get them not toShow up is extremely disappointing. I think all the 5 star reviews at this point are fake for how they handled my situation with very minimal professionalism. Would never recommend to anyone ever. I reached out to a much more professional plumber that gave me an 1 hour window and sent email confirmation which this place never did. Please steer clear unless you have all the time in the world to wait on a plumber.

I was looking for a plumber to take care of a leaky toilet and got a recommendation from Facebook for J. Blanton.I called to set up an appointment and the person on the phone was nice and made my appointment. I had a lot of questions about charges and cost. Some other places wanted to charge me truck roll fees just to send a plumber out, not J Blanton. She told me it would only be a service fee if I decide not to have the work done.The day of my appointment I received a call from the dispatcher to let me know that they were on their way. Shaun and Cody came to my place and told me exactly what had to be done. All the pricing was up front and they explained everything that need to be done. I had a thought that I might need a new toilet and they confirmed it for me. They scheduled to come back the next day to do the install. They came back the next day and installed my new toilet quickly. I was impressed and will be using them for any other plumbing needs.

I love that he explained EXACTLY what needed to be done without making me feel stupid. He gave me a quote and and I agreed. I had to have the water shut off to my building so Chip had to come back. (I needed to give residents a heads up for the water shut off)I received a call confirming the new appointment date and Chip came back on time and got down to work. He was professional and the job wrapped up quicker than I expected. He cleaned up after completing the job. I'm so excited that I can get my fridge finally installed and use the right side of my sink again.Will use again for any future plumbing needs.

called these guys to replace a shower cartridge. never showed up for the estimate, called back and they showed and quoted me over $500. Reluctantly paid a 50% deposit, which was taken promptly. Didn't show up on work day, didn't show up again on the day we rescheduled for work day. gave me an excuse that they were stuck in traffic while they had a 4 hour window to show up. Called back and asked for my deposit back. It took three calls asking for my deposit back and them telling me each time it would be done right away before I had to dispute it with my CC company. ended up replacing the cartridge myself in 20 minutes for a $25 part. I'm not sure where I'd point someone but certainly not here. They only thing they did well was take money, fell short in every other aspect.

I had to use them bc of my HOA. They quoted me two different times very differently for the same job. They couldn't work with the HOA or something about the shut off of water and I went 2 months with this issue. Never actually replaced the emergency shut off valve in my kitchen. Bc eventually it worked. My water pressure is still very low. They were somehow able to fix my neighbors but not mine. Paid to basically have them give me the run around.I've tried to call them and they just never show up. I tried again this year to have them come look at what can be done twice this week they couldn't show up between 8_12. Why give a date range if you can not show up. I have texted with the company and never returned my texts after initial conversations. I tried to use them bc of a drain backed up and ended up having to use a different company. My HOA signed a check I'm not sure if they paid them but they never showed up.i really tried to work with them as this has been going on for awhile. I assumed maybe understaffed due to covid but at this point it's too much. Would not recommend. I have receipts if they ever want to try to fix their work.

Needed a fill valve replaced on my toilet. The kind person over the phone gave a 4 hour window that they would show up for the estimate, and they showed up right at the beginning of the time window! Was able to quickly pinpoint the issue and get a technician to replace the part in a timely manner, and now our toilet works better than ever. Very kind and professional all the way through! I will definitely keep them in mind for any future needs.

I discovered a leak in my ceiling, and J Blanton was able to come out and make the repairs in the same day. Kurt and Chip were great- they had to stay later than expected because the leak was tricky to find, but they did so and left my home in great condition as well.

Our water heater went out unexpectedly and J. Blanton responded quickly in sending someone out to assess the situation. Once they determined the water heater needed to be replaced, they provided us with a quote and were able to finish the job the same afternoon. Service was quick and professional.

I’m sure these guys seem like they know what they’re talking about, they do give good recommendations after all. However, they’re not the smartest when it comes to customer service. One of the guys that came out (short, pudgy dude) went out of his way to bad mouth me behind my back to my wife. You’d think you’d think twice before you say anything bad about a potential client. So instead, we’ll be taking his recommendation and give the job to another company if we need it. It’ll be much cheaper too, these guys are overpriced.

When our toilet clogged, Blanton was who we turned to - at first, to schedule an appointment for the next day, and then, when we realized the true extent of the problem, to reschedule for an immediate emergency call. They handled the change in plans cheerfully, despite the late night hour. Blanton plumber Edwin Sanchez and his colleague arrived quickly, pinpointed the problem, and were done within 15 minutes. Sanchez, in particular, was a great representative for the company. I'd recommend Blanton for any plumbing need, large or small.

The folks at Blanton gave us a quote ahead of time, helped us find the hardware we needed, were polite and professional, and did excellent work. They were not cheap, but if their work holds up as I expect it will, than it was worth the money.

I was told a tech would come between 10-12pm. No tech came and nothing was communicated so I called them. Then they moved the window to 2-5pm. Again, no one came and no one communicated with me. I called them and they said I was next and they could no longer give me a time frame (obviously). A plumber showed up at 7:50pm. Two of the tools he was using broke during the job, which meant he was unable to complete the job and he left around 11pm. Prior to leaving, he called someone from Blanton to explain the situation and I was told I would get a call the next morning at 8am. I did not receive a call so I called them at 8:15 and was told there was nothing written on my file about this, they weren’t sure what I was talking about and that they would forward this information to their service team which would call me shortly. An hour later I still didn’t hear from them. I had to go through the same process- call them, someone takes down info., & forwards to someone else who is supposed to call. Another hour later, no call. I had to call again and go through this exact process again. And again the next hour when I still didn’t hear anything from them. Then finally they call around noon and say they have a tech out on a job and he will come to me next. He arrived at 5pm. He appeared knowledgeable but when it came down to the ridiculously high quote- we cut ties.A few suggestions: Do not give a time frame if you can’t adhere to it. Or, if you do give a window of time and see the tech cannot make it, the responsible and respectful thing to do would to be to call your customer. Also, when rodding out under a sink, do not let the rod continue to hit the wood in-between the sink cabinet doors and base of cabinet repeatedly, resulting in large dents. Have the proper materials to cover that area to avoid damage.So no, I will not be using J Blanton again. That was the first and last time.

We had a leak under our sink and called JBlanton. They sent out a great team and within a few hours the problem was fixed. They were knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to educate us on the options we had. We’ll definitely keep calling, and recommend to others!

J. Blanton was incredibly easy to work with from the start. I had no issues getting my questions answered and scheduling an appointment. I will start off by saying most of the service technicians were extremely wonderful.The overall experience I had with the company, however, was horrid.What I had done: Install external clean-out for sewer.Cost: Extremely overpriced - I ended up getting 2-3 quotes after the work was done, all of which were exponentially cheaper for the same exact work.Speed of service: They were able to come out pretty quickly, however there was over a week of time that elapsed between the initial dig and when they came to fill the hole in the yard - I was left with a huge hole in the front yard for that entire time.Customer Service: My biggest concern with my experience... From the minute I chatted with the company, I was being upsold. I was immediately prompted that I should replace the entire sewer line from the house to the street. I was given a quote for the job, and then after attempts to unblock the sewage line were failed, I was again prompted to replace the entire line.They couldn't tell me exactly where the sewage pipe went, and wanted to make to decision to keep ripping up the front lawn to figure it out.This is because they did not have enough tools for all their service workers. Rather than waiting to actually use the rod with the locating beacon to confirm - I was being asked to make a decision that would have resulted in an additional $10,000 cost.I was being asked to make decisions without having all the information.In addition to the fact that my lawn had a gaping hole for over a week - there were large wooden boards placed on the grass - which has ruined a large portion of my front yard. They also did not have a hose long enough to reach the street, so when they were clearing the hole - they pumped sewage water directly into my front yard - which also ruined the landscaping.The cherry on top was that they charged my account WITHOUT FILLING the hole in the yard, which remained open for an entire week. They took my money before actually completing the job I hired them to, all while trying to pressure me to replace the entire line without giving me a complete picture of the information.I ended up declining additional services, and calling a different plumber. They came out and cleared the blockage literally within 30 seconds.I would never even considering to do business with J. Blanton ever again, and would encourage you to be wary.

The plumber was fine and nice no complaints however I was charged $850 for about 10 minutes of work that I later realized an average homeowner is capable of doing themselves. Their pricing is outrageousEdit: The owner's reply says they spent 6 hours and 3 plumbers to replace a gasket on a toilet (on a sloan valve toilet the kind without a tank). A youtube video search and we can find a how-to video which would be about 10 minutes long. I think what he's referring to is the first plumber they sent didn't know how to fix it and disappeared then called me saying they'll send another plumber in about 6 hours... who then took about 10 minutes to fix it and agreed it's embarrassing the first plumber couldn't do this. I didn't even complain about that at first because I felt bad for the kid.So, yes getting scammed by plumbers IS expensive. Be careful!

Jacob was absolutely fabulous! I could not be happier with my service. The new sink and toilet that Jacob installed are AMAZING! Jacob does not only install new products, he installs with love and care. He also installs things that are to consumer satisfaction. I told Jacob that I wanted a toilet that would not have to be repaired, and he got me the best toilet for what I was looking for on the market. I give my highest recommendations for Jacob. Had to replace my water heater. They came the next day and showed up on time. They were able to replace it that day and were professional and respectful of my home. I have had other plumbing work done by Blanton and it has always been a good and professional experience.11/13/20 I had a clogged kitchen drain that is connected to a failing galvanized pipe that will eventually have to be replaced. Sean and Jacob came out and were able to clean the drain and make it usable for the time being. Sean was able to then explain what the future pipe work would entail and how he could do it working with my walls and causing the least invasion. He described it in easy to understand terms. They were on time, professional, and tidy.

As a first time homeowner with a semi-urgent need, it was imperative to have a company and service agent that was responsive and patient- not to mention educational! While J Blanton is probably not the cheapest you can find, they will get back to you right away and have someone out ASAP. Chip was thorough, kind and took his time with me as well. I spent two days waiting for someone to show up. The first day they said the technician was delayed at a job, so we rescheduled. The following day I spend 4 hrs waiting and nobody calls. I call and they say oh that technician called in sick today. Extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate of others time.

Jake from J Blanton Plumbing came out in Dec 2018, evaluated my situation and returned with a replacement water heater. Installation was flawless, including exhaust ducting changes - once completed my hot water was flowing again. Since then I've had J Blanton Plumbing come out for an annual checkup and again I was very satisfied. I would highly recommend J Blanton Plumbing for water heater projects.

Company replaced a failed sump/ejector pump in our sewer system for us. Full pump replacement took under an hour with no issues. Crew knew what they were doing, a silent blessing. Probably not the cheapest service around (it was a per job cost), but I was ok paying a small premium for quick turnaround and being able to get me on the schedule for same day service.

If I had questions, he made sure to make things clear and understandable and presented solutions to work through any issues.

Called late on a Saturday night to request Sunday emergency service for a blocked sewer. Received a text during the night to call the office to set an appointment. Called at 8am and left a message with the answering service. Received a call within 10 minutes to say that Blanton would be out the same morning. Then a call to say late morning. Receive a call to say they would be there in an hour. No service. We placed 6 additional calls with no call back from the company. We had to leave our information (Name, call back info, description of problem) each time. I know that service on a Sunday is nothing but emergencies for any plumber but the communication from Blanton was horrible, nearly non-existent, even after I begged them to just tell me whether or not they could even make it out that Sunday evening. Never heard back and at 8pm, I called another plumber that was early for the 7:30 am appointment on Monday morning. Should have called him first, shouldn't have waited so long believing that Blanton would come through on Sunday. So much for wanting to give more business to a company that we had used before. And so much for wanting to shop local by using a business in our neighborhood. Oh, and absolutely no call back on Monday from Blanton to schedule an appointment or see if we still needed service. Nor on any day since. Horrible business to deal with. If you need a plumber, do not call J. Blanton Plumbing

Tim, the service man from Blanton, performed yeoman’s work, going above and beyond the customary. His work ethic is extraordinary!

I called J Blanton Plumbing after an installer broke a water valve while installing a new washer/dryer. J Blanton arrived on time, did a quality job and cleaned up completely after they were finished. Although they were a bit more expensive than some others I contacted, they did a great job, so they were well worth the extra cost. I’d recommend them to anyone who wants quality plumbing done.

Let's just say I have had a few plumbing issues this year. Everyone has been wonderful from the people who schedule the appointments (Cynthia, Jane, Marty, Holly) to the techs who come out at 2am and at normal times too (Jake, Craig, Tyler, and a few others). Estimates are up front and I highly recommend joining the no drip club where you save a percentage off future work. They also partner with a company if you need financing and that was a huge help. Oh and the dog in my profile picture has never growled at any of them!

Tyler and Chris were great! I put an inquiry about my draining system in my bathroom last night, and they were here by 10am this morning! Holly, the service professional, called in the morning to confirm and then also called to tell me they were on their way. They came immediately, and they wore masks and put on shoe covers so that the floor would not get dirty. Tyler got down on the ground in the shower and put a lot of effort into trying to find the problem which just happened to be clogged hair in the grate. He gave me advice on how a shower like mine would better be able to handle water correctly, but he did everything he could. When they were leaving, I asked them how much I owed them, and they said nothing at all! We didn't fix anything! I cannot believe how polite they were. J. Blanton is now our 'go to' company for plumbing needs. We first experienced their exceptional service when we had a frustrating problem with our bathtub faucet. I was not able to be there when the gentleman from Blanton came to take a look, but my wife reported how he explained the problem, what it would take to fix it, timing, and cost. And he made the problem go away! The price was exceptionally fair, and he took care of it right then and there! We've used them at least 3 times since then for various issues. So nice to have a service like there's who you can turn to and trust!!!

We have been loyal J Blanton customers for years, and members of the No Drip Club. Our initial experiences with them were positive, but over the past two years things have gone way downhill. One issue has been sending people to complete service calls who don't have expertise. Our first example with this was a year or so ago when we had a lot of flies circling our basement sump pump. The J Blanton technician who came to our house said that the flies weren't from the sump pump but that he had uncovered a major issue - our backup sump pump was running continuously, which would cause it to fail eventually, and put us at risk for a basement flood. The recommended repair was to replace the sump pump with a better model, which would cost $4-5k. As part of our decision, my husband called J Blanton. He asked for another technician to pay a visit. The second technician concluded that nothing was wrong with our back up sump pump. The “continuous running” that the first technician experienced wasn’t continuous, and wasn’t unusual. The second technician said that the first technician just didn’t have enough experience with the sump pump to know what was normal and what was not. On the plus side, J Blanton ultimately recommended against any repair, and I appreciated that honesty, but I was also very upset that had I agreed to the first technician’s recommendation I would have spent $4-5k to replace a perfectly good piece of equipment.We are now dealing with a more serious situation with J Blanton and need to engage our attorney to see if we can bring about a resolution in court. In July 2019, we woke up to no hot water and called J Blanton. The ultimate diagnosis was a faulty expansion tank and a replacement was installed. That installation was very problematic – the technician who did the diagnosis, who seemed very knowledgeable, didn’t come to do the installation as I expected. Instead, a new technician was there and he didn’t seem to know what he was doing. As an example, I walked in to find him replacing the wrong expansion tank (we have 4), and had to call the office just to get that mistake corrected. Ultimately, the new tank was installed and we were billed over $1600.This weekend, we awoke to a flood in our basement. The new expansion tank had corroded (in just 8 months) and water flooded the basement overnight. This seemed particularly unusual because not only is the expansion tank new, our entire house is only four years old. The overnight leak resulted in damage to our newly installed hardwood floors in over 50% of the basement ($10k in damage).The technician who came on Tuesday (Edwin) to install the new expansion tank said that the reason this one corroded within 8 months of being installed was that it was the incorrect tank. He said the one that was installed in July was for hot water only, not hot water and radiant heat. He took the time to point out the differences in the label of the old expansion tank and the new expansion tank to show me how they were different. He said now that I have the correct tank, I shouldn’t have any more problems. I told him that I was very upset to learn that we paid $1600 for a faulty tank that ruined our new hardwood floors and that I wanted J Blanton management to reach out to me. He told me they would.I called the office when no call came for 24 hours and they asked me to submit my concerns via email. I emailed a summary of the incident and received a call from Kyle. In short, he claimed that Edwin never said the initial tank was wrong, and that the new tank we received was the same as the old tank except having a clearly different label and description on it (same manufacturer). It was just bad luck that our tank failed in 8 months and they didn’t do anything wrong. I suggested that we have a call with Edwin so we could work out the miscommunication directly and Kyle refused. I realized that this isn’t the company it once was – they lack expertise, and they seem to lack integrity – so I am going to have to pursue a legal resource.

Absolutely an awesome, professional, friendly, fair, clean and overall great company. Terry and Matt did the job. They have to be two of the nicest people I've come across. Not only did they fix the pipe and correct the problem they cleaned up afterwards. Kudos guys! Hey and not once did they complain about all the dust! Definitely would recommend this company.

Highly recommend!Noticed I didn't have any hot water at 7am. Gave J Blanton a call immediately; Lou and Chris (both highly recommend these two) were at my place by 9:30am. After a thorough assessment of the water heater, they placed an order for the new replacement water heater and returned 1h30min later and had everything installed (and cleaned up) by 3pm. Lou even readjusted a pipe (beyond the initial scope of work) to make things look better cosmetically.

I can’t believe how a potential nightmare turned into something relatively painless. Our 9 unit condo building’s water heater went kaput. Water was pouring out of the bottom of it, so it’s useful life was over. An emergent situation when there is no hot water for 9 separate families. Enter J Blanton Plumbing and their crew. I spoke with the office about our predicament and they sent a plumber out (Chip) to assess within the hour. He said we had to replace a very specific unit that was not available at any of the local suppliers and it would take a week to get. Disaster. Chip said said he’d talk to a certain guy (Kyle) at the office about it because he was really good at getting things done that others couldn’t. True to his word, when we thought we weren’t showering for a week, Blanton got the specific water heater we had to have in a days time. It showed up the very next morning, the guys swapped the old for new, hooked it up, added a circulating pump and an expansion tank and charged the system all by 5:00. We are now showering this evening. Kudos to this company and their crew. Aces! Would hire them again without question. Thanks guys! (Jane at the office was all over it too.)

My gas line had 13 leaks and needed to be replaced. I scheduled quotes with three different companies. J Blanton was the only one that showed up on time. The quote was reasonable so I decided to go with them and cancel the other quotes. J Blanton’s technicians got to my house so promptly that when the headquarters called to tell me they were on the way, I told them the techs were already there and had started working.lol Even with a few hiccups, they were able to get the job done in a timely fashion. They did a great job installing the new gas line. Gas company inspected it the next day and said it was good work. I definitely will use them again and refer others to them.

We’ve used J Blanton a number of times for large and small projects, as well as routine maintenance. This week was the first time I needed to call their 24/7 line, when our kitchen sink backed up and would not drain late at night. I was able to schedule an appointment for first thing in the morning and they came bright and early and were able snake the pipes to clear a grease block. Since we’re home all day during quarantine this really saved the day and I greatly appreciate their timeliness and responsiveness. I would recommend J Blanton for any plumbing needs you may have, emergency or (hopefully) non-emergency.

Excellent communication and incredibly neat with their work. We required a new sump pump, a deeper pit, ventilation and miscellaneous upgrades to our flood control system. He was professional and thoughtful as we diagnosed the issue. Repair was performed well on Tuesday. Andrew gets 5 stars. But I only gave 4 to company because after confirming repair appointment for morning on Monday, they no-showed, no called.

I've used J. Blanton's services in two different properties. They impress me with their quick responsiveness and with their contacting me if their techs will arrive earlier or later than planned. The techs in my opinion know what they're doing and act in a courteous manner. I do believe that Blanton charges a lot for their work. Yet, I still will use the company again because of their convenient and quick service.

Craig was great from start to finish. I loved that he asked if there was anything else around the house I had questions on - turns out I had two other smaller projects I wasn’t even thinking about and it’s so much of a relief to have everything in order now! Jake Ryan was also so friendly and helpful. I felt that the team cared about me and my concerns. They listened and made suggestions. I feel safer in my home knowing my plumbing is back in order. They are very clean and timely on top of it. I became a member of the no drip club and will continue to use them for all my plumbing concerns.

I went to the BBB to see how J Blanton was rated. They have an A* rating so I went to their website at 11:50am and chatted with a rep. I inquired about the service fee and agreed for a service man to come out. While still on the chat I was contacted by the office rep. She contacted Andrew and said he would be at my house in 30 minutes. When Andrew arrived I described the problem, He investigated and found that I needed for my sewer line to be rodded out. He was very friendly, professional and worked very hard to solve my issues. There were several problems because my sewer is covered by my permanent deck. Andrew searched the exterior on my street and the connections in the house. He was VERY good at troubleshooting and finding a solution! He was an angel. He finished the job and was paid by 1:50! While he was finishing up my sister called and heard our conversation. She needs a plumber and I recommended J. Blanton. She will be calling soon. The whole experience was phenomenal, so reasonably priced, and completed within 2 hours!!!!. I will be putting Blanton in my phone book and telling everyone I know about their service! Thanks so much!

We've had the guys from J. Blanton come fix stuff for us a few times and they've definitely become our go to. Every time we've called, they've been responsive, punctual and friendly. Their pricing is very fair and the folks they send out on jobs really know their stuff. I can't say enough great things about them! I would definitely recommend these folks to anyone I know.

My hot water heater popped right before I was about to leave for work one day. Luckily I became suspicious of the sound of running water before I walked out the door. I immediately turned off the supply line to the water heater and called J Blanton since they had done some work for me before. They responded the same day, and were back the following day to replace the water heater after we agreed on the terms of the work.Lou was awesome. He answered all of my annoying questions without being annoyed. He even came back to change my humidifier supply line from the cold water line to the hot water line even though he recommended against it. It's nice to have the customer be right even if they may be wrong.J Blanton is likely not the cheapest option, but I believe they do very good work. In my experience, and if you have the budget, it's preferable to pay the premium to get it done right the first time.

Told my wife the toilets had to be removed and replaced to fix a simple leak, quoted $3600. I replaced 1 part for $4 each and fixed the problem.Beware.

First time ever using J. Blanton and I would give them 5 stars. I had a nasty backup situation with water coming down through the ceiling on the first floor. I called J. Blanton and they recognized that it was an urgent matter and were able to rearrange their schedule to get someone to my home within a couple of hours. When they arrived they were very professional and able to quickly address the problem. They also didn't go with the more expensive option first and that turned out to be the right call which I appreciated.

Blanton charged my mother, who is a senior citizen an exorbitant price to install a toilet and supply valve. A simple job that required probably less than an hour cost over $1000. I had had the company install water heaters before so I thought they were trustworthy but in this instance their costs were outrageous. Had talked to the owner earlier in the day when he called to move up the appointment but conveniently was not available when I called to question the pricing. Their invoices don't detail the service provided, only show a code. I would not recommend dealing with this company again. If you do ask for a quote. if they'll give you one before having them start any work.

J. Blanton was able to get a crew to come to my house the same day and just a few hours after calling. Chris replaced the water heater in a timely and efficient way. He was professional and did a fabulous job of installing and cleaning the utility closet. Greatly appreciated the honestly and professionalism!

Unlike Goode Plumbers (which had estimated the same job previously), J. Blanton didn't try to up-sell me on a repeat-customer savings plan, nor did they try and push their expanding-franchise agenda. J. Blanton was responsive, friendly, knowledgable, and reasonably-priced. They did a great job on my kitchen sink, and I would happily use them again. Highly recommended.

Extremely professional. They worked quickly and thoroughly when I called about water damage coming through my drywall. They came over the same day (on a Sunday no less) and identified the problem right away from a leaky pipe from our upstairs bathtub. Tony did a great job and made me aware of other issues, as I had pipes burst in the condo, due to a non-working furnace. The plumbers were punctual, and I was seen within 24 hours, not days or weeks later.Tony was efficient, professional, polite, and answered all my questions. The 4/5 stars is because to some, the service fees may seem pricey, but if you want work done right with no b.s., they come within a few dollars of other places you get bids from, but you will get quality work with J. Blanton Plumbing. Not disappointed at all.

J Blanton has always had great service. They are highly responsive and have continually gone out of there way to help us out in tough situations. They even recently did a FaceTime consultation with us to help us walk through an issue we were having. Their work is also high quality and holds up over time. I would highly recommend J Blanton.

My request to J Blanton Plumbing was for a cartridge replacement of a bathroom faucet. They gave me a quote that informed their licensed plumber could and would both shut off and switch on water in the building to allow for the replacement. They had done it several times for other buildings, they said, and their plumbers can handle such work.They provided an estimate.The scheduled work day arrives, notice has been sent to the whole building of the 3-hour shut off water period. One of their office managers elects to talk to the Ops Manager of the Property Management company that oversees the building. They have worked together before, she said. I thought nothing of it as thinking it would only abet the work.The 3-hour shut off water period comes and goes after when the job should have been done. I had received no call or email alert if more time was needed to get the work done or if the work was already complete. I get an email from the property management Ops Manager informing that based on her conversation with the office manager in J Blanton, the assigned J Blanton plumber (Chip) had had an “emergency” so the work had not gone forth that day and that J Blanton had indicated to them that they cannot shut off and on the water in the building but rather require a technician from the group managed by the Property Management Ops Manager, at cost to me. First question: why is the Property Management Ops Manager telling me this and not J Blanton whom I directly contracted for the work, not with or through the Property Management company? What had really transpired in the conversation between J Blanton Plumbing office manager and the Property Management Ops Manager who “know” each other such that on the actual day of work, what J Blanton had warranted they can and have done for several other clients and buildings was suddenly a no-go? Long story short, J Blanton never did the work; they never bothered to email or corroborate the claims of the Property Management Ops Manager. There was no “emergency” - it was a cover-up as the plumber actually arrived at the unit and left without doing the work and no one had the decency or courtesy to call me or to alert me, the service requestor, that they had not done the work and the alleged reason(s) why. I had to take the Property Management Ops Mgr word for it, who is now insisting on the use of her technician, at cost to me, as a requirement from J Blanton to do the work at a later date, the same J Blanton who had warranted, before the contact with the Property Management, that they would do the shut off and switching on of the water without issue:I am giving one star for lack of transparency, lack of customer service, waste of my time and resources, and a level of duplicity/dishonesty in their dealings that suggests behind-the-scenes conversation/relationships on the day of the work, ensured the work was not done and was roadblocked. Now the only way I can get the work done is to pay 2 plumbers - one from the Property Management Ops Manager’s group and one from J Blanton Plumbing - to do what one plumber can reasonably do and which J Blanton warranted they could do. No customer wants to be in my position - manipulated, stonewalled and frustrated to allow 2 companies leech of at will to just get one service item done because the parties “know” each other, talked and realize they can mutually benefit off of the stupid customer and/or make it impossible for the customer to proceed without both of their companies involved.This detailed review was required to help others advise themselves accordingly. If a company’s conduct seems suspect, fraudulent or questionable, trust your gut and walk away.

Drew Jamesom came to my apartment to work on a leak coming from my water heater. He was incredibly professional and took the time to explain his thought process and reasoning for the work he was doing. His thoroughness impressed me, since I saw him crawling into my loft area to double check any possible sources of gas leakage. His polite and friendly demeanor was appreciated and I have nothing but great things to say about Drew.

The plumber who assisted me was very nice. However the problem didn't really go away. The tub continued to never drain properly and a pool of water still quickly formed in the tub during a shower. I find myself using draino every month as suggested, but it's never really been great. But again he was nice, cleanly, and did clear one blockage from the pipe. I think the pricing was expensive, especially because the issue wasn't fully resolved.

We often don't appreciate the modern conveniences and comforts of our homes, but when we lose them, especially on days like Thanksgiving, we are acutely aware of their absence. This is exactly what my family faced a couple of weeks ago. But in one day, the Blanton team restored our outdated sewer system, replaced the external pipes, and checked the operability of all systems. we finished the work according to all the rules and regulations, without leaving a single speck behind. I will preface by saying any work I have ever had done by J Blanton plumbing is well done. However, their prices are absolutely ridiculous. $2,000 for a water heater is insanely expensive. Only to have them back less than 2 years later because I have no hot water. The problem turned out to not be from the hot water heater. Which I understood & was shown that the work that would need to be done would consist of replacing a .50 cent part & about 15 minutes of the plumbers time. I don’t count the apprentice who was with him. For this work I was charged $300. At most 20 minutes of work was actually done. Have tried to reach “Jane” at the office multiple times only to this far not receive a call back. Extremely disappointing & would have to say I’d take a look at ABC, Four Seasons or Goode Plumbing before using J Blanton again.

We had a serious gas leak. Although slightly pricey, it got fixed the first time. They also found an unrelated gas pipe not properly installed (it was a materials issue). At no extra charge, it was also replaced. The technician was clearly experienced and most pleasant to work with. Clean up was appropriate. A safety check was done. When the gas company did their own check, all points passed.

Andrew and the team were very professional and took their time to diagnose our issues and to answer my many questions, explaining things to me in layperson's terms. They were able to successfully clear a drain clog that was causing water to back up into the garden apartment in our building and they put a camera down our drain tiles lines and let me watch as they confirmed what was going on down there. Highly recommended and I would definitely use their services again.

J. Blanton Plumbing repaired pipes throughout my basement to fix a gas leak. They claim they tested the pipe for pressure to ensure the work was sound. However, when the gas company turned the gas back on, gas was spewing directly into the home. I contacted the company three times before they would agree to discuss the concern with me. This is clearly a significant safety issue because either they had a defective pressure gauge, or the plumber did not test it properly. An owner finally came out to the house with the plumber that did the work. They decided that since the gas company was able to fix the leak that their work caused, there was nothing wrong and all they needed to do was have the plumber buy a new pressure gauge. For 4 hours of defective work that led to a dangerous situation in my home, they charged me $1875.

Andrew was terrific! Andrew explained everything very clearly before proceeding: there were no surprises. He fixed our badly clogged bathtub drain quickly and completely. He also did an amazing job repairing the drum trap cover and reinstalled it. The trap cover result looks like new. Andrew was also very polite and friendly.We have used J. Blanton Plumbing for all our plumbing needs for the last five or six years. Every time, we have been extremely pleased with their promptness and with the quality of their service.

Our entire sewer system was collapsed, but Kyle and his crew offered peace of mind options at reasonable prices. They dug out our entire basement 10 - 11 inches for more livable space, and installed an overhead sewer system. Their quality work and additional measures to help ensure we would never have to worry about a wet or flooded basement went beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend this friendly and highly skilled plumbing company to anyone.

J. Blanton Plumbing did an outstanding job replacing the drain, disposal and pipes in my kitchen. Carlos clearly outlined what needed to be done, communicated well, and was timely and friendly. He is a real asset to your team! I will definitely call them again.

The service wasn't good, and let me explain why.When the first plumber arrived everything was going smoothly until he informed me that the cartridge he needed to fix my leaky shower was going to cost 400.00 dollars, I wanted my shower fixed, so i bit the bullet and agreed. I asked him to grab me a receipt for the part, but he did not. Once he got back he installed the part, charged me over 700 dollars ( that's over 200 more than we originally agreed) and left. However, the problem remained. the shower was still leaking and was not fixed.I called their office and the same plumber came back puzzled. He didn't know why it was still leaking and told me we have to wait for a plumber that specializes in leaky showers. We were waiting for him for a few hours and the other plumber arrived. i forgot his name, but he was very nice and seemed to know exactly was the problem was. He assured me this would be taken care of and eventually it was.The problem I have is that the part that i paid 400.00 dollars wasn't the problem because once it was replaced the shower was still leaking. Even plumber #2 said that the actual problem was one of the valves and once he fixed that valve it was fixed.In the end, they were here from 9 am to 5pm ( my whole day wasted) and they charged me 200.00 dollars over the original estimate for some part that wasn't even the problem. So i can't exactly say I had a positive experience with this company.When I contacted their customer service and informed them of my issues they told me they would get back to me...that was a month and a half ago and still nothing. I cannot recommend this company to anyone based on my experience

We've used this company on several occasions, and have been happy with their work. Talking with Jane to set up the appointment is always a pleasure. Appointments are always the same or next day. They always give us a few options and explain pricing clearly.

Chip stopped by Monday morning and provided an honest assessment, took the time to explain details and the process, provided a timely estimate, and very responsive to additional questions. Scheduled the install on Monday night, and then the next morning, Lou had the new water heater installed before 2pm. Professionalism across the board! Highly recommend!

We called last night for emergency service on a pipe that was backing out of our washing machine drain pipe and pouring all over our floor.We were told they would call when they were coming but then I just called to cancel because we waited a while and didn’t hear anything. Then I received a call following up saying that they will be right on their way. I figured ok, fine.They came over an hour later, finding out that their repairmen live all the way in mchenry and we live in Chicago. They fixed my pipe by running a line and it was $638!!! I was like fine whatever they fixed it, however then when putting my washing machine back for me, they broke it and cracked it. So now my washer won’t spin.Ugh just be careful calling these guys!

They got done in a timely manner and with professionalism, but when my drywaller came in he noticed that the tub was not set level. When I asked Blanton about it they refused to address, and said they would have to charge me half again the cost to set the tub level in the first place. Sure, I got an acceptable service from Blanton, but I was pretty disappointed in their handling of the later issue that came up. Buyer beware.

As a landlord of a near 100 year old building, I need a competent plumber, and even when there are surprises or things don't go as I wanted, this company stands by their work and they make sure I am satisfied. There are a lot of plumbers in Chicago. I always go with J. Blanton.My reasoning for 4 stars has NOTHING to do with their excellent work quality, they are kind, capable, and confident. So with that I'd like to be abundantly clear, 4 stars is ONLY due to the occasional issue I have had with one or two of the people that answer when I initially call. I have had the same person (nameless out of respect) fail to properly relay my needs to dispatch/the team that will come out to do the work. This has caused the workers to come unprepared, or unable to work because they were misinformed about the issue/job at hand. And though they always make corrections and get things sorted, I am disappointed that this individual has made the same error more than once.To wrap this up, I wouldn't dream of going with any other plumber to date. J. Blanton is a company I have grown to genuinely trust, and one that leaves me knowing the job was done right. And from HVAC, to small jobs, all the way to digging a 12ft hole to pull out an old collapsed flood system I never knew was there, they have gotten the job done right every time.P.S. I called on a Sunday about water damage appearing in my condo ceiling, and the dispatcher quickly helped me assess that my issue was not worth an emergency fee and could wait until Monday. He immediately got me on the schedule at noon on Monday. Chip, the plumber who was assigned, was extremely helpful, efficient and communicative. He called immediately at noon, arrived promptly, walked me through all options after his assessment, and diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. He also went out of his way to refer me to others who could help with future repairs related to the issue. I will definitely be using them again and glad to have a reliable plumbing service here in Ravenswood!

Jon was professional, friendly, and worked to midnight. They apparently did a good job as it has been 1 year and no issues. But very expensive unfortunately I had no choice because of Peoples Gas policy. If cost is no object or one has an emergency then J Blanton Plumbing are fine as they work fast.

From the first phone call to schedule my appointment to the final inspection of the work performed J. Blanton Plumbing was extremely professional. After initially inspecting the situation Andrew presented me with several options to remedy the dripping faucet. I chose the middle of the road option but felt no pressure to select a higher price alternative. They cleaned up after themselves when finished and even wore protective booties in the house. I would definitely call J. Blanton again!

I found them on a google search, and the high reviews convinced me to use them. They quoted me $900 to replace the valve, faucet, shower head in my shower/bath combo, in addition to the pipes behind it, as they were old galvanized pipes. The tech explained to me, verbally, that all the pipes back here will be changed out. When the work was finished, some of the pipes had been changed and others not. I asked if for sure the leak would no longer be a problem? Because replacing the drywall ceiling in the basement, under the bathroom, is annoying and I don't want to have to do it more than once. He said it's all good. I signed the paperwork, electronically, and paid the money. The next day, a pipefitting that his new pipe goes into is now leaking. I called my bank to put a hold on the payment, but it had already gone through. I still have not received the receipt or even the original work order from them, even though they have had my email (and address) this entire time. I called to try and ask if they would make it right and fix it. They said they could fix that new leak for another $600. My neighbor is a handyman, and fixed it, and the sloppy pipe work done by the tech, for $200, and it is a permanent fix.If you use their service, pay with a check. That way, you can put a stop payment on it if you have to. Also, get everything on paper, or ask them to send the order/receipt to your printer before they leave. Did they fix the original problem? Yes. Did they cause another problem? Yes. $900 for a basic plumbing fix is high, so why not offer better-than-normal service? Everyone I spoke to was apologetic, but their point was that it's not J Blanton's problem.

One of my tenants had a leak coming from their bathtub faucet so I decided to call this company. Jake and Clayton came to my property the next day and assessed the problem immediately. They told me the total cost for repair and they also notified me of another problem in terms of the bathtub drain which had a massive accumulation of hair. They were able to perform the repair as well as rodding out the blockage in the bathtub drain. Both Jake and Clayton were very professional and the work that they provided are covered under warranty. Jake also gave me a possible estimate of some work I wanted to do in my basement. I was very pleased with everything that happened today with J Blanton Plumbing and definitely will use them in the future.

We had a water line break in our kitchen behind the wall and we were recommended to J. Blanton. 2 people were at our place in 45 minutes at 10:30pm on a Thursday to assess and fix the issue. The job required shutting off the water to the whole building (we live in a Condo) and they had the whole issue fixed inside of an hour. They were friendly and mindful of COVID-19.

Amanda in the office was great and always stayed in communication. I never felt like simply a customer, but everyone worked hard to make me feel valued. Drew came out and helped save us money while performing his task quickly and efficiently. Highly recommended!

We're the first floor unit under 3 others and water started coming up through our shower drain and flooded our bathroom floor. We called J Blanton, explained our situation, and they were able to get a technician to our home within one hour. Edwin assessed the problem and cleared the clog located 25 feet down the main drain stack. He worked quickly and cleaned up after himself. We were extremely satisfied with the service.

The guys accomplished the job, a clogged drain, but there is some serious price gouging going on here. $546 for a clogged drain that took 20 minutes to snake. Entire visit was about 1 hour including chatting and billing. Wanted them to look at a 2nd bathtub drain mechanism and tried to sell us on snaking that drain also for another $340.I might expect to see these rates nights or weekends, but this was a weekday at 9am, normal business hours.My parents found this company without shopping around, please do your homework and ask before you select someone. In my past experience I've paid around $100-150 all up to snake a drain, at most $250 to snake an extra long run of 80' out to the street

Had a very simple clog in the kitchen drain that took less than 15 minutes to fix and was charged $350. Had I known the term to search before the plumbers arrived I would have easily found someone to fix the problem for under $200. Don't let free estimates fool you too! If you have a simple drain clog, inquire for pricing to rod you drain line and you'll find multiple options between $110-$200. To be fair, the guys that helped us were very friendly but paying over 2x for a 15 minute service is just outrageous!

I had a leak from my water main and they were able to schedule me a visit right away (which is awesome). The plumber was really good and considerate and walked me through all the steps needed to get everything fixed. It wasn't a big job, but he really went the extra mile to make sure everything was done correctly.

Andrew A. and Steve did an excellent job fixing a drainage issue in our kitchen sink. They were professional and personable. I appreciated their patient and calm attitude. I could also tell they loved the work they did and did their best.

My water heater broke and my neighbor recommended them. I called and they were literally at my door in 15 minutes! They diagnosed my issue and discovered I needed to replace it. They ran and grabbed a new water heater and were back within 30 minutes and had the whole thing installed incredibly quick. They were absolutely amazing and will be the ONLY plumber that I will call from now on!

We had J Blanton come out to install a new pump for our toilet and a new sump pump. The work for both was was very poorly executed. For the basement bathroom pump, the air PVC Pipes were left unglued, the patch for the cement floor was badly laid (very bad), the electrics were not connected correctly (they trailed an extension cord through a hole they cut into a wall to plug into an outlet), in addition, they removed our very expensive grinder that was under warranty, even after we asked them to leave it so that we could contact the company that made it - they took it with them after the job was done. When I wrote (and called) to ask for it to be returned we never heard back. I do not recommend J Blanton for these reasons.

I called for my Mom's hot water heater which stopped working. I couldn't get an appointment for a few days. I was told couldn't even get a ballpark quote and I would have to schedule a consultation for the estimate. I asked then if the cost of the consultation would be waived if we decided to use Blanton and I was told no. This doesn't sit right with me. I can see that you would have to pay for the plumber's time if you didn't use the company. However, I feel it should be waived if you then use the service. I believe it wad approximately $90.

DO NOT TRUST! I called with request and got price quote. First of all, plumbers arrived late and there was no communication about it. I had to call to find out what was happening. Then when plumbers arrived, they tried to upsell different products/services. When I didn't go for that, the price of my original request suddenly and mysteriously doubled. Yes DOUBLED! Using J Blanton is truly a waste.

I wasn’t going to leave a review but I got a text prompting me to do so... I really feel as though I was ripped off. I was home alone and a recent home owner so I didn’t really know what to expect for our garbage disposal to be replaced. It was a few years ago but we were charged A LOT (I remember ~$500, my husband remembers closer to $800). It took no longer than an hour to an hour and a half and a disposal itself shouldn’t cost more than $100. Had I had any idea of how much it should really cost, I would have never accepted their work. It was frustrating and I will not ever work with them again or refer them to anyone. Only benefit is that the disposal works great.

The nozzle of my kitchen faucet broke off from the hose embedded in its base, rendering the kitchen sink unusable. Lou from J. Blanton Plumbing came to my door the next day at the scheduled time and spent about 5 minutes under the sink to dislodge and extend the hose from the base. He then showed me where the plastic thread from the nozzle was broken, and how easy it would be to screw in a replacement nozzle. He said that if he went out to the Faucet Shoppe and got the replacement part himself, he’d have to charge me hundreds of dollars for his time. Instead, he advised me to go get it and install it myself, which I later accomplished with ease. He ended up charging me nothing for his visit. What’s more, Lou was exceedingly warm, courteous, and professional. Highly recommended!

This review is specifically for Lou, our plumber from J Blanton, that helped us out tremendously. Lou is a kind guy that will be very honest with you on your job. We had an emergency and Lou was out to us very quickly and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. He's clearly been doing this for a long time and knows what he's talking about. One supervisor said they may have to fix a pipe by cutting the floor from the unit above, Lou said there was no way he would do that unless absolutely necessary and assured that there would be almost zero chance. He was right and he was able to fix the leaking pipe without doing extensive damage. We had some issues with communication and scheduling with these guys, but in the end, the job was done well and that's what matters most. Thanks Lou for your great work and honesty.

The day of the service they were prompt and the team of two was efficient, a bit messy but not expecting less since they are working with sewer. My issue with this company is that I've been waiting for the report for my insurance for over a month now. After multiple calls and online messages still nothing. Always being told that a service manager would reach out and I'm still waiting. It's extremely disappointing as this is the only thing missing for my insurance Compton approve my claim. I didn't know writing that I had a sewer fill up and why its so hard.

For a kitchen remodel Blanton installed new angle stops for the faucet and dishwasher. Before the installation they took the time to consider all alternative locations to make sure the final installation was the best possible. I was glad they did because it made for a seamless installation of the cabinets, dishwasher, sink and faucets in a tight space. Blanton also installed a water heater and did a nice job.

Blanton Plumbing is a quality business. I’ve used them 3 times over the past year, each time they provided very professional service. Chip is a very professional technician, very calm, patient and has done a great job. Highly recommended!

Two of Blanton plumbers came out in April 2017 to fix a clogged shower drain. They spent a very short time examining the drain. Then they gave us us an exorbitant quote of several thousand dollars to fix it. When we declined they said they could try something else for only $370 but they didn’t recommend it. They rodded it out in no time at all. That was in April 2017 and the drain still works perfectly. Too bad it was a bait and switch. I complained to Mr. Blanton about the first quote and he was very defensive and supported his men. I would not trust them.

Ken Boomer Strohman (cool handle BTW) & his crew member, Mike, did an amazing job!We were having some back-up problems that appeared to be related to a main line under our building's foundation and needed a diagnostic. These guys arrived early, were super professional and, for half the originally quoted price, quickly diagnosed our building's issue producing a clear & reasonable estimate of the steps involved & total cost to fix that I could forward it to our association.I would highly Boomer and his crew at J. Blanton Plumbing & hope that our association approves them to return to do the repair. They're clearly experienced pros who know what they are doing. It's refreshing to see that once in a while these days.Great Work!

I had a shower issue. J. Blanton quoted $4000 for the repair. I had another plumbing company come out and their plumber quickly diagnosed it as a gunk buildup and charged me $249 to fix the issue. J. Blanton is a joke. They are either incompetent or they were trying to swindle me. AVOID THEM!!!!!

Jack Blanton's plumbing company was prompt, competent, and took the time to explain all of the options to us. I will call them for my other plumbing needs in the future and recommend them to family and friends. The big difference is trustworthiness.

J Blanton was great. They were available the same day and the two professionals were efficient and knowledgeable. They are a bit pricey but worth the effort. I called roto rooter 5 times before and they never replied. Do not use that company.

A blockage in our pipes was causing a sewage backup that if not addressed immediately, would have resulted in sewage coming up in our building. Jacob and his team took immediate action to save the garden units in our building from flooding with sewage and walked us through our options for better preventing blockages in the future.Their quick response, dedication to solving the emergency situation on hand, and helping us prevent emergency situations in the future was communicated well throughout the process, and often repeated with patience as it's a multi-unit building.Jacob and his team matched our urgency in finding a solution before the situation turned dire. We greatly appreciated their effort, care, and consideration throughout the project.

We had 2 separate leaks that 3 other plumbers couldn’t diagnose. Finally called J Blanton & their guy spent some time, found the issue and that it was related to HVAC. He offeredHVAC & mold/drywall repair suggestions & also gave bids on some other plumbing work. No charge since no tools ever came out. Extremely helpful and great in his explanations of what had caused the leak. Will definitely call them again when we DO have a plumbing issue/work.

Summary: Felt misled and bait-and-switched by “free estimate” promise. Charged $79.99 “service charge” because tech “touched something”. Took 10 days and 3 calls to finally speak to manager who stood by charge.My faucet takes a long time for the water to get hot. Before making the appointment, I asked to confirm something along the lines of “so if they don’t do anything then its free?” and they said yes. I was very surprised at the end of the visit to be hit with a $79.99 service charge.The tech visually inspected the sink area and the water heater area. He temporarily turned the water heater temperature dial up before realizing that wasn’t an issue (he did not wait long enough for the water to get hot at the faucet). In the end, there was no work to be done. Nothing could be done outside of re-piping with a hot water return that would improve things, so there was no simple problem to fix. I was not given an estimate for that re-piping work because the tech said that would require a $180(?) diagnostic charge (so much for a free estimate).It seems like the temporary adjustment of the water heater dial (and maybe touching the faucet?) was the difference between a free estimate and a $79.99 service charge.A manager never called me back after leaving two messages. On the tenth day, a manager happened to answer the phone. She looked over the tech’s notes and stood by the charge. She said something about “new girls” being the reason she or another manager never called me back.If you’re looking for a “free estimate”, make sure to ask the tech what actions convert that into a service/diagnostic charge.

Chris and Chris were extremely helpful. Had a shower leaking into the neighbors apartment, they replaced the faucet and they checked for leaks. Gave me a quote for caulking that was way more expensive than a handyman but were happy to explain everything that needed to be done if someone else does it. They were professional, informative, and quick. Would hire them again and recommend.

John was very knowledgeable, Professional and polite. He gave me a quote to repair a small crack in a Cooper pipe on my roof deck. But it always seems that J. Blanton Plumbing pricing is consistanly over priced. Even the least expensive quote was way too much!! The employees are always great! Thank You!

Kyle and his colleague were both very professional. I needed some urgent work on my water heater and they were able to accommodate me very quickly. I did do some research after the fact and found out that the price I was quoted/paid was high/very high compared to alternatives.

Cleared my sink and I paid $343 for a 10 min job. They called it a bandaid package. While it is nice to have a working sink, not sure that it was worth the cost. I asked the person on the phone what the cost was and she said that the plumber will give me an assessment, when actually when they do have clear pricing for their different packages. There was not much to assess when a sink is not draining.

Overpriced and they do a poor job. Two+ years after getting service from these folks and I am mad just thinking about it. Plumber not only failed to properly fix a continuous water heater, he also botched a drainage job causing severe damage. He blamed my tenant, but it was just shoddy work.

When I called, I tried to tell the initial person what brand of fixture I had. She said it didn't matter, they could fix them all. When they arrived, they indicated they didn't have any parts for a Kohler and they would have to go out and get the specific parts and with all that time and effort, it would be more cost more than getting a basic replacement. I'd had a pretty Kohler and now just a basic Gerber. I was under a time deadline, so I agreed. I asked them if they could fix a faucet, again, they didn't have the parts, but I could have a basic version. I declined.

We have used Blanton Plumbing on several occasions. Each time we have used Blanton, they have done extraordinarily service. We had an gas emergency at our building and a crew came out and worked hours until the night until all our gas leaks were repaired. I have recommended Blanton Plumbing numerous times and will continue.

I struggled searching through chicago to find a plumber who would install washer and dryer hookups (Greybox) in my condo. J Blanton plumbing not only didn’t walk away at the thought of doing it in a condo, but also gave me the most fair price by a long shot. Chris and Mike were there in under an hour, which happily shocked me on a day when my pipes burst! They were both very down to earth, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. But it happens. Once is no big deal. Twice is a little concerning. THREE TIMES in the same month? There's a systemic problem that needs addressing.Adding insult to injury is the fact that we paid a few hundred bucks to be part of J Blanton's *No Drip Club* which supposedly offers Priority Scheduling on Service Calls. It seemed like a good idea in the beginning of the year when we knew we would be doing a lot of work on our place, and sure, I guess we saved a few bucks. But at no point did I feel like I was being prioritized. In fact when I mentioned this on two occasions when calling to find out when someone would be arriving to our house, they told me yeah, you should be getting priority service, not sure what is happening here, I will mention this to my manager and so on. Obviously nothing changed though. They should rename it the Suckers Club.I recommend looking elsewhere for plumbing and HVAC service until J Blanton gets its house in order. There are too many other companies out there to justify putting up with this level of frustration.

My sump pump stopped working unexpectedly, I searched google found which lead me to J. Blanton plumbing and they said a guy would be out between 2-5 the afternoon. The guy came earlier than planned and was in and out promptly. I appreciated the service and the education related to sump pumps. Thank you Edwin.

Over the past week we have had J.Blanton Plumbing to our home twice. The first was for a cracked water heater and the second was for a clogged drain. On both occasions the teams sent to our home were extremely polite, knowledgable and honest. J. Blanton Plumbing had our best interests in mind. We highly recommend their services.

Our 4-unit building dates back to the 1920's, so understanding and maintaining our plumbing infrastructure is essential. While we have had to call J Blanton Plumbing a number of times for major and minor problems, planned renovations and a few 'emergencies', I learn something new and useful every time.Our most recent call for pumping out the catch basin is a good example. J Blanton Plumbing promptly scheduled an appointment for a meeting with the chief sewer tech, Andrew. Between us, we worked out a sketch of how the catch basin was originally designed, and how it is supposed to work. Andrew has long experience with the in's and out's of catch basins, and prepared a couple of written estimates, with recommendations on what should be done, ASAP, and what could be done longer term.Our building committee was able to quickly understand the work to be done, and it's cost and agreed to proceed with the most important work. J Blanton Plumbing again promptly scheduled a date for a pump-out. The day before and on the scheduled date, I got updates for what time the work would begin. Since the work involved a 3rd party service for a vacuum tank truck, a tech from J Blanton Plumbing was here to manage to their work. Immediately following the pump-out, Andrew and another tech came to inspect the work, using a fiber-optic water-proof camera, showing me the condition of our sewer lines.The work was done on time, and on budget. Did I mention the No-Drip-Club? It includes an annual home inspection, and offers discounted services. Going forward, our building now has better information for budgeting basic maintenance, in the hope of avoiding some of those unplanned emergencies.8/14/19

I paid $ 150 just for the fact that he came with a tablet and shoe covers. They don’t talk about the price on the phone. Then they counted me a huge amount for regular cleaning. It was cheaper for me to refuse and pay $ 150. We called another plumber, without a tablet and shoe covers, he did everything for $ 100. I was not going to write a bad review, but they themselves recalled and asked to write a review.

In need of a reliable, family run plumbing business, we found one in J.Blanton Plumbing with good reviews on the internet. We called and Boomer was out the next day. He tried to unclog the drain but needed other equipment due to the severity of the blockage. Tony and Andrew came out the next day and determined the best solution to clear the drain, which they thought was in the top five worst they've ever come across .They did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I had a completely different experience with this company. I called them, based off reviews, to resolve sewage going into my sink. Upon their technicians arrival, I was advised to take the bronze plan-1 step beyond the basic plan. In hindsight this was overkill. The job was a standard grease blockage that the techs were able to unclog in 30 min. And how much you asked to fix this issue, over $700. Buyer beware, their pricing seems predatory.

Had some initial hesitation but decided to pay for the whole thing to be replaced and it was completely worth it. I've used J. Blanton several times, and each time I've been both satisfied and impressed. I live in an older building with lots of weird issues, and Lou and Terry are two of the most knowledgeable, respectful, and patient guys with with whom I've worked. As old pipes and concrete crumbled in his hands, Lou's experience and knowledge limited the scope of the problem; moreover, he problem-solved a solution right on the spot that fixed the issue. He left it in much better condition than he found it. And again, I can't overstate how respectful and responsive each person at this business is. I hate when things go wrong with plumbing, but I will continue to trust Lou and Terry and the rest of J. Blanton when it does.

These guys will be my first call every time. We called because a new stove needed modification of the gas line and this was the first Google result in the neighborhood. At first I had trouble with this company. I told them I had to leave my apartment at 3:30. They said they'd send someone between 12:00 and 3:00. At 1:00 I called to remind them I had to leave at 3:30, and they said I was next in line and he'd be there soon. I was supposed to receive at 30 minute warning call, but the warning call I received was a 10 minute warning. The plumber did not arrive until shortly before 3:00, so he did not have enough time to do the job before I needed to leave. This plumber, Chip, said that the toilet needed to be taken off and the drain needed to be rodded (even though our house is on the 3rd floor!)But the next day they sent over Lou and his apprentice, Ricky, and they did a great job! Lou knew right away that it didn't make sense to rod the drain of a toilet on the 3rd floor-- if there was that much standing water, all the neighbors would have problems too. He found that the toilet just had a clog within itself. He saw that the pipe the toilet sits on had been poorly repaired by someone before, in a way that would let water leak from out toilet into the down stair's neighbor's ceilings. He re-set the toilet to make the pipe less likely to need more repairs, and so that water can't leak from the toilet into the downstair's neighbor's ceiling.Lou and Ricky were great, but the people who answer phones and coordinate where and when the plumbers go did not do so great. Also when Lou first called me he didn't know that he was supposed to bring over a new toilet, even though when I was on the phone with other people earlier they said he would bring a new toilet. The communication of the company is very poor, but Lou is a great plumber and Ricky is very charming.

Clearing a clogged, slow-draining bathtub is over $340. No other work but clearing the clog. No joke.The dispatcher would not commit to a price estimate or even range of price when scheduling, only to say that the rates are fair and the plumber who visits to inspect would give an estimate on arrival, and their inspection fee would be waived if work was performed. Definitely not fair pricing for a few minutes of maintenance. I should have picked up on the disingenuous tactic of the dispatcher to refuse to disclose any pricing estimates. Greed.

If you need a plumber don’t even bother calling anyone else. I had a burst pipe in New Year’s Eve with water gushing filling one of the rooms to the knee. I called EVERYONE on google. J. Barton was the only one who responded and came out probably within the hour. The other companies never called back, not even the next day. John and Ted came over to the house. They were a pleasure. Very polite, smart but most importantly knowledgeable. They figured out what the exact point of the burst within minutes and the charge was very reasonable (and I was willing to pay anything at that point). These people know what they are doing and they do it well.

Came out to replace a hose bib that had frozen and cracked due to incorrect installation by the builder, ended up doing some drilling on the masonry to angle the pipe correctly and prevent the next one from suffering the same fate. We're now 2 years without issue, so: thanks for a job well done and done promptly.

Blanton Plumbing was contracted out to come diagnose a leak. Chris & Jacob showed up at the anticipated estimated time. They were professional, friendly and respectful the entire time. They introduced and concluded themselves with smiles and handshakes. They communicated every step of the way of what they needed to do and did. They took the time to cover areas and my belongings to protect it from any dust or debris. They had to cut open a ceiling and upon completion, quickly cleaned up and there are no traces they ever did anything. I would recommend these guys to do any plumbing or hvac work anytime.

When two other plumbing companies said it was not possible, Boomer from J. Blanton Plumbing, came in, assessed and executed within the hour. He cleared our clogged drain system in our basement. Removed all the standing water. Great Job Boomer!! We will definitely be calling Blanton plumbing for future needs and look forward to working with Boomer again.

I was charged flat rate pricing .This resulted in paying $1000 for a job that took one and one half hours.I supplied the faucet. Total parts supplied by you cost $50. So I effectively paid about $600 an hour for a plumber. I will not go back. Which is too bad, as they do good work. But this flat rate pricing is not economical.

Andrew did a fantastic job fixing a sink and installing a new sump pump. He was on time, helpful, neat and efficient. Since I am new to the city, it is such a comfort to know that I have great plumber in case of emergency!

This is Nedd, the caregiver who entered into contract with Blanton, completing this on behalf of Mr. Kenner, condo owner. Absolutely stellar service and work. One plumbing firm misdiagnosed the problem months ago. A second, one with TV name recognition, totally missed this months ago. A third, another with name recognition (Roto Rooter) said they don't do these kind of condo buildings. Enter Blanton. Alex & Mike were just the best. $685 may seem a bit high for what less than two hours work but when considering how long we had backed up tubs (months), clogged piping in the walls (decades) and replacement of one bathroom's sink pipes, $685 doesn't seem like it's bad at all. I am thrilled and will not hesitate to use Blanton again. Highly recommended. Will not disappoint.

Chip came by to fix the toilet. He was incredibly nice. He explained what he was going to do before doing it and was extremely clear about the prices. When it came to fixing the toilet, he was very fast and did an excellent job. I would absolutely recommend these guys.

I am including the prices so readers can make their own conclusions: The customer service (phone service and communication) was excellent. The ladies handling the appointments and scheduling were extremely friendly and professional. I will say that J. Blanton was the only company that had someone from their own office answer the phone after hours. The plumbing service was to replace (2) screws holding the toilet tank as they were corroded and causing leak. The service took about 20 min. The cost was $159 for the estimate because location was in the city and $450 for the service. Total was $600. However the plumber noted my concern about the price and waived some of the cost. The option to replace the toilet would be over $1000 because it was a back flush toilet. I am not familiar with market pricing so I cant comment if pricing is fair. Hope this helps

The quick fix I requested took them less than hour and they tested for leaks before leaving. The cost was based on level and I was quoted the low level which was still high. J. Efficient - Answered Questions Patiently - Explained EverythingThey explained everything so well, I will use a different company next time because I think I have learned all I can from J. Blanton.Mainly, I learned despite spending $15K with them in 2017 to rebuild the line to eliminate frequent $2K hydro jetting, I still need to hydro jet annually. Further, I learned I should have installed an overhead system instead of spending $15K on that job.Expecting to pay $299 for rodding, I spent $2k for jetting and recommendations to repeat it every year, replace the underground line with an overhead one, and use J. Blanton for my water heater/HVAC instead of 4 Seasons. (They also recommended I should not have my flood control so deep, but rescinded it when they remembered they had done the work at our request.)We called them because we received their email saying it was time for our annual rodding; coincidentally, our drain had just backed up. After glancing at the floor around the drain, they quickly decided we needed jetting instead of rodding. They scheduled us for the next morning, showed up when they said they would, accomplished the job within the estimated time, and cleaned up afterward.The backup was caused by a buildup of (mainly) toilet paper that occurred over the past 16 months. They explained it’s just something that can happen and jetting is the only solution. I mentioned I was surprised it could build up that quickly from two people because part of the 2017 work was to change the pitch to prevent that.The rep shook his head slowly and said he recalled they couldn’t get our new line completely pitched: there were still flat areas that were impossible to avoid. This was a learning; I had the false impression the flatness had been addressed. It dawned on me: maybe it WAS actually impossible to avoid flat stretches! I suddenly woke up to the fact the 2017 work was not completely successful despite the best efforts of all involved!He explained the gold standard is to run the line overhead instead of underground: overhead lines never have problems. He suggested this despite my having spent $15K on a job that, 16 months ago, was considered to be a solution to eliminate the need for frequent jetting. (At least, that’s how it was “pitched.”)He also observed my water heater clicking on; it’s not supposed to do that. He recalled Blanton did not install the heater, and recommended I have it serviced. I noticed a Blanton sticker on the heater and pointed it out. He casually told me he had just placed it there and another one on the furnace. How thoughtful! I hadn’t asked him to redecorate my basement with Blanton stickers, but I can see now that he was just making sure I knew how to contact Blanton in case I was ignorant enough to think about calling 4 Seasons again!At the end, instead of giving me a receipt, he sat down in a chair by my computer and instructed me to check my email. I ignorantly asked why – his email the previous day had no message or attachment, so my expectations were low. He said he had sent a simple satisfaction survey and it was very important I fill it out ASAP. When I indicated I did not want to do it in front of him, he solemnly yet firmly stated I should do it by day's end.He explained it was important for him to score well on it: it would help people in my area know to call him if they needed work; he also mentioned a tight competition with another employee to win some kind of incentive – a trip or something. Honestly, his demeanor suggested something even graver might be at stake!I gave him 5 stars because he cleared the drain, was punctual, efficient, clean, and enlightened me regarding how ignorant I was to believe that a) the $15K Blanton job in 2017 had succeeded, b) it was the right solution, c) I wanted to cover the flood control even though it inconveniences him, d) 4 Seasons is meeting my needs, and e) customer satisfaction surveys are used to improve customer service rather than to manipulate metrics. I feel much better educated and ready to learn more from someone else.

I made an appointment for a plumber 2 days in advance. I was given a 9:00 to 12:00 window when a plumber would show up. Despite my calls to the J Blanton office checking, I never had a plumber actually show up. I never received a call from a J Blanton plumber. A wasted morning- lost paid time off from work.

Recently requested service jacuzzi tub repair, i was told it could be one of three issues and provided a quote for the issue. Power switch was replaced. I was charged $360 for the repair and $130 for the service call. I contacted the company about the fees to ensure there was not a mistake for a 20 min service call for a $20 replacement part. Office manager acknowledged their prices are high but would forward the message to the owner. I received a message from the owner regarding the cost of the workers, insurance, time to pick up part etc. Nevermind that i waited an hour for them to show up during my workday after they called to say they would be there in 20 min. Its only been a few days so hopefully it was the correct fix since they only provide warranty on the part.

Thanksgiving was on the verge of disaster at our house, when luckily the fellas at J. Blanton Plumbing showed up and saved the day. Our garbage disposal was clogged and causing everything to back up. Andrew showed up and saved the day! I am so grateful that they were able to come in a timely manner and save the holiday!

Our garbage disposal died and needed replacing. We called Blanton plumbing and were told that there would be a $59 fee just to come and look but we could apply that if we hired them. They came on time, took a look, and gave us a price of $600 to replace the disposal. I thought that sounded expensive and went online and saw the disposal they were going to use for $99. I asked the installer why the installation cost waa $500 and he said that was Blanton's pricing, but he could give us 15% off. I felt like I was buying a used car. I called ABT and they offered me an upgraded disposal for $98 and installation for $139. Blanton is ridiculous and take advantage of people in need.

I contacted J Blanton at 6am, by 12pm I had a new water tank installed and hot water everywhere in the house. Chip and Connor were very professional and took care to abide by all COVID requirements for face coverings and social distance while they were here. Thanks!

This company tried to scam my 87-year-old mother. Two repair persons from J Blanton came out for an in-person repair visit and told my mother they could not fix the leak in her hot water tank and she would have to purchase a new one. Here is the problem--they unfortunately only had two 50 gal residential tanks in stock and would have to wait until next Thursday to order the new 100 gal tank. The tank my mother needed is a commercial grade State Water Heater 100 GAL natural gas 75/100 input purchased in 1986. Before J Blanton came out to repair the leak, I reached out to Slate parts department who said, if the service people recommended the water heater replacement, my mother would need to install a commercial grade tank similar to the one she originally purchased in 1986. The slate company I called prior to the repair visit, recommended two tanks both came with a 3-year warranty 1-year parts with the option of a two year extended warranty. The problem with J Blanton was the unwillingness to purchase a Slate or AO Smith water tank because they wanted to sell their brand Bradford White. This company took my mother's money, did nothing to repair the leak, and their only intention was to sell her a new water tank which was not even compatible with what she had installed on her property. They sent a ridiculous quote for 13,567.00 dollars for purchasing a Bradford White commercial tank. When I tried to speak to the manager on my elderly mother's behalf he attempted to use the old hard sell approach and push the Bradford White pretty much refusing the purchase of the Slate or AO Smith Tank; but hey, I guess this repair business had no problem taking my elderly mother's. $79.00 check for doing nothing. I would strongly caution anyone who is female or elderly to be very careful of this company and their service people. Find someone that isn't going to scam the elderly.

Lou is the guy you want to answer the dispatch. Total professional. He rushed over here to perform emergency repairs in the middle of the night, and while en route gave me advice which prevented a significant amount of damage. Went out of his way to make sure things were buttoned up and permanently fixed. Great sense of humor. A calming presence amid quite a bit of chaos.

I've worked with the company for a handful of jobs, and they have always been great partners in the process. Pluming jobs can never be described as a pleasure, of course, but they do a solid job before, during, and after the work.

Work was just ok. Fixed the core problem, but I was overcharged for a whole day of labor when the crew realized the main line was a non-standard size, so they literally sat around all day waiting for the part to arrive. Also when they filled the hole back in, they didn't do it properly with a dirt/rock mixture (instead used 100% rock), causing more issues when doing adjacent work in the future. Sidewalk replacement was also not good; team only put in approx 2 inch of concrete when standard is at least 3-4 inches.

We have had a lot of problems with our house that we just bought it has been one thing after another. We had a roof leak to start off but then our HVAC went out and we had another company come out and look and fix what we thought was the problem they only fix that halfway because they did not pay attention to detail. After the other company fixed our HVAC it then made our condo leak into the kitchen of the condo below us only a couple hours after this other HVAC company left. That is when we got on Google because the restoration people that were fixing our downstairs neighbors kitchen told us we should get a plumber and get the HVAC out here which is why we chose J Blanton plumbing So could have HVAC and plumbing experts at the same time. Thank God we did and thank God we got Chris L. Because he found a lot of other issues that the other HVAC company did not find and he was over the top thorough. He never made me feel like he was rushed he took his time and explained everything in a way I could understand while simultaneously weighing all my options to try to save money as we have been hemorrhaging money since we bought this place. The credit goes to Chris and I wish we had got him the first time around so we didn’t deal with this unecessary headache that could have been prevented had the other company done the job right.

I've known this owner (company) for many years and there's no better plumbers in the area than J. Blanton. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was because there were too many mis-steps and basically these were about the lack of better communication between owner, GC andmain office. I was given a window of 9am-12pm for an estimate. I received a call at 9am verifying I was home. Boomer and Alex showed up about half hour later as promised.They took some measurements, explained my options and gave me an estimate within 10-15 minutes. Blanton sent two young men during the rain and rather late on a weekday night, and I appreciated thetimeliness and apparent commitment of the 2 young men, however they both were unsure of the size of the machine needed to unclog the sewer drain asthere was a minor flood of 1/2 - 1 in our Laundry Room..and, in conversation repeated that if my 3Flat bldg used PVC piping underground it was illegaland might need to be removed . I argued no and later confirmed via 2 other licensed plumbers and the Tribune news that the Ordinance changed in the1990s to allow PVC.And, they searched for the front clean out entry and couldn't find it. ( two days later I hired another, he found the front clean out and cleared the entiresewer line, proving via camera)Although I appreciated their initial response and return the next day and i gave a gratuity..the completejob was never done.Mostly I resent them giving erroneous informationI would not hire again.

A plumber was supposed to come to our place this afternoon. My boyfriend took the afternoon off of work to be there. They called at the beginning of the time they were expected to arrive and said they wouldn't make it that day. When I tried to call to reschedule, no one answered the phone and I was unable to leave a message. 5 times. We asked if they would give us a discount because it was quite inconvenient to take an afternoon off of work for no one to show up at the last minute, and they refused. Very poor customer service, and I would not recommend.

Stopped up toilet. Two plumbers arrived on time and wore covers over their shoes. It took 5 mins to fix the toilet and the cheapest price offered (which I picked) was over $350! They gave me 5% off for being a senior citizen. What a rip off.

Extremely High estimates. Twice what I received from other businesses. Tech was a nice guy but in a bad spot that he has to give bloated estimates. I also had to pay a service call fee. No other businesses required for estimates. My advice is to move on to another business.

They have cheated me. They Worked for 30 minutes they charged me $1123.00. I argued with them and then owner came personally to the restaurant and seemed like he was going to hit me. After that the owner said he had lot of connections in city of Chicago and he will make sure to shutdown my restaurant. He takes advantages of middle class people who is trying to make it for themselves and their families. Worst attitude to help your customer. It was like he was doing me a favor. Called J Blanton Saturday afternoon to replaced a leaky pipe coming out of my water heater. They came, quoted me an EXUBERANT price and said that they could only do it on Monday. Called another plumber who did it for me on Saturday on THREE TIMES CHEAPER!

Needed a pressure release valve replaced on hot water heater and when they showed up they said it would be almost $600.00. The next morning I went to a plumbing supply store, bought the valve for $15.00 & replaced it in 15 minutes. They of course charged me $79.00 for the privilege.

Sean quickly diagnosed my plumbing problem and fixed it expertly. He was prompt, professional and explained everything he was doing.

They were supposed to come at 9 but didn’t show until noon. I had called at 9:30 to get an eta and had to call again at 11:00 as there was no follow up. Besides the scheduling issues, the service was great and the tech was friendly and insightful.

Not the cheapest but very high quality work. Would use them again. Had a main line clean out and they had to come back with a 6 inch blade. Also found the main line junction was plugged and they got that fixed as well. Overall a good experience.

If you want to burn your money and get hustled, this is the place. Call, they came out for a quote for 900$ to replace 4 valves. Kitchen and bath. 30$ worth of supplies and 870$ in profit.I was not available to meet the plumber and sent my girlfriend. He saw a young clueless lady and Tried to take advantage (of the price of course). Called the owner to discuss the price and when I said I was insulted by the price and he told to go f*#k myself.Real professional hustler.
