Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

We had a back up sump pump installed. The service was great as we stated in our previous review. Talking with the technician David, recommend replacing our ejector pump which was also 10 years old which could fail without warning.We agreed to have him replace it the next day. He did a great job installing a new sump pump, back up with battery and the ejector pump the next day.David was professional, punctual, courteous and efficient.We feel much better now that they have all been replaced and everything works just fine.

Oh boy...where to even begin? My roommate/tenant clogged the kitchen sink while I was away at conference without phone access. In the mean time they robbed us blind. The clog was a straightforward food clog. On day 1, a technician came in and destroyed my pipes. Horrendous leaking, completely beyond repair. Cost for this disaster: $500. My tenant then called again to have the damage repaired, at which point I joined by video call. The new technician explained that the last service had indeed been faulty, and that he had to replace all of the pipes: you can probably get your money back. I have never had issues with these pipes, which were just two years old. He did this without first asking permission, and replaced an excellent set of steel pipes with the cheapest PVC job I have ever seen (see photo). Cost for cleaning up their own mess: another $500. No refund as of yet. I will be filing a complaint with the city and disputing any charges moving forward. Avoid these swindlers at absolutely any cost.

My experience was wonderful per usual. I have confidence that whenever I use this company my plumbing issues will be resolved. Very kind and engaging technicians that explain my issue to me and what needs fixing. The ONLY grip I have is they are so darn expensive even for small jobs. If you use them expect to pay $$$. Due to this, I sometimes call other companies that take a bit longer to resolve and respond but at least I keep some change in my pocket. If not for their pricey fees Roto Rooter would receive 5 stars from me.

Removed an old drum trap, and some rusted steel pipes. Replaced old s trap with p trap. Fantastic work and quick! Jesus was very professional and gave me tips on how to unclog moving forward. Highly recommend.

Set an appointment for the next day and Stephen, the plumber, called and informed me that he could arrive early. The issue was a clogged sink and he explained what he would need to do to fix it and also suggested preventive measures for the future. He was very thorough and diligent in the work that he performed. He really put my mind at ease and things are working beautifully now. I give Stephen 5 stars on his professionalism, knowledge, skill and demeanor. I would choose Root-Rooter again based on my experience today.

They were busy the day before Christmas eve and the snow storm but they were nice, responsive and kept us up to date of any changes. They still provided us service on Christmas eve and were excellent! The repairman whose name was Tony came in very professional and got the job done quickly and was knowledgeable about the job. I have nothing but great things to say! Would recommend them anytime!!

2 stars only because he showed up quickly and actually did the job, and it seems as though I won't have any additional problems with the drain. Absolutely cannot believe that a branch line cable out cleaning cost $425. And he wanted to charge me $500, but gave me the $75 Internet coupon (but then put $625 with a $200 discount on the invoice, not sure what that's about). I was almost ready to just let it go, but then I just got a text asking if I would give a review-- why, yes, I will. I feel ripped off and taken advantage of. Next time I need service maybe I'll have to have my male tenant pretend to be the homeowner. (To be fair, it might have been the same with him, I'm now seeing a lot of these type of reviews. Should've probably checked reviews first, but I've used Roto Rooter in the past and never had this kind of issue, I figured I knew about what to expect-- not $400+!.) For that kind of money, he should've pumped out the grease trap that he said was causing the issue. (Guess who I won't be calling about that.) I even called back to ask about an estimate while the technician was here, because I've never paid that much for a drain cleanout, and the dispatcher said she can't give an estimate, or even a range of what's reasonable/what to expect. So apparently no way to know if you're being ripped off. Will not be using again.

Roto-rooter is a terrible business and do not listen to anything they say. They sold me a 2 year warranty on a sump pump and when it broke from their poor installation in a year they told me they would not be able to help. Unbelievably poor service. They charged a premium on the parts and service, which I expected would result in them fixing it if it ever had a problem. Instead when they came back a year later they quoted me 1850, 600$ or 30% more than it was the year before when they did the same exact job at $1250. furthermore, their poor installation lead to a flood that will cost us more money in damages and cleaning. These people are taking advantage of customers and screwing them with high payments. DO NOT USE THEM.

I was scheduled to have an appointment from noon to 2 pm today. No one showed up at 2:30. I called, they told me they are backed up. I asked them for an approximate time they will be here, no answer. I called them every hour for an update. Finally, at 6 o’clock when I called them, they told me they won’t be coming today. I told them I am waiting for them due to a plumbing emergency while skipping to visit my mom at ICU tonite. What a horrible and non reliable service.

When I called I was told that the tech would be there within the hour and he actually arrived within 20 mins. Once he arrived the tech Eddie was very professional and keep my maintenance staff informed of what he was doing. The problem was solved within less than an hour which was great. Would definitely use there services again!

The technician was prompt, polite and professional. He explained what was wrong as he showed me the problem. He then showed me the price of the new garbage disposal and explained the labor fees. I appreciated his thoroughness and work ethic.

The service was great. On time and explained everything as we went. Put a camera in our sewer and explained what was being done now and what they would suggest for the future as well as ways to improve our situation in the meantime. I will be using Roto-Rooter for any future plumbing issues.

I used another company who totally ripped us off! Shame on you. Not showing too much intelligence on your part! Roto router was here same day and one hour later? I could actually hear the drain unclogging! Thank you for your expertise Gabriel. You are an angel. 6 month guarantee also where as other company never returned my calls . The clog was still there after 2 weeks . Will always use roto router I learned my lesson!!!

Working with Roto-Rooter was very easy. They came out the same day and at the time they told me. The person they sent was very helpful and professional. Overall a great experience.

Tony was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and could not have been more friendly to work with. He got the job done quickly with no issues. We will be using this service for any future needs and will be requesting Tony.

We had Roto Rooter install a a new faucet, because the 3-day-old faucet was not to my wife’s liking. That said, the initial on-site quote was $700 (or $710) because the food processor had to be detached from the sink, but when I told the plumber that a different plumber had installed the existing faucet a few days ago without removing it the price went down to $450. The installation of the new faucet went fine otherwise and the plumber was friendly, but the lack of transparency in pricing left much to be desired. Setting aside that $450 is a lot for 15 minutes of work, the it is hard to erase the bitter taste from my mouth — had I not seen another plumber work without removing the food processor or not mentioned that to Roto Rooter, I would have been charged at least $250 extra for unnecessary work.

If you live in Downtown Chicago choose another service.My first time attempting to use roto-rooter was today and it was absolutely terrible. I scheduled my time between 10-12 and that was confirmed. I was called at 8:15am this morning saying the person would arrive in 30 mins(8:45am), I said I can not do that I scheduled between 10-12. I was then called at 11:45 saying my service person was about 45 mins out. I had to then call at 1:45 and cancel my appointment because they were so late.Unlikely to ever schedule again and will tell people to never use this service.

I had Justin. I had water & swage backup. Not only was he knowledgable, he also took care of my problem. I will continue to use Rotor Rooter. I had other plumbers. They took my money, I would hear back from them. It would be day's later. They charged me the same as Rotor Rooter, but wouldn't show up when I needed them. I also paid extra money for their service, like cleanup. I will never go back to the plumbers who aren't affiliated with a reliable name.

Needed to have the finished basement bathroom rodded in my rental property. My usual plumber was unavailable and roto ropted was but they could not give me a general estimate over the phone for a rodding. Upon arrival the tech quoted me 900 to rod where as my usual plumber is 250-300. After they charged me a 100 diagnostic fee for coming out even tho I am aware of what the issue was and this was a temporary needed fix. Just out of curiosity I asked for an estimate on what my project repair would cost and they quoted me between 7-10k. My plumber who is licensed and bonded estimated 3k and gave the same break down. Extremely over priced and charged to do no actual labor. Would not recommend

Made two requests for appointments a week apart at our building in Chicago and received no email, calls or contact. Things must be fine that Chicago Roto-Rooter doesn't need our business?

We discovered our basement under several inches of water late one evening. They showed up early the next morning, found the cause and immediately set to work on repair. They removed damaged and exposed materials from the flooding and sanitized the whole area. They even helped work with our insurance to help cover costs. The entire team we worked with were friendly, professional and efficient. Would definitely use again in such emergencies.

I called Roto-Rooter to repair a drain clog in my toilet that could not be plunged. The Roto-Rooter repairman pulled up the toilet and insisted that the sewer line was not clogged, rather it was a faulty toilet p-trap that needed to be replaced. Seemed odd as I have never heard of a toilet p-trap going bad, but regardless I paid $150 for the service call and then replaced the toilet per their instruction. Unfortunately, this did not fix the problem. I later called a different plumbing company to look at this a second time. They scoped the drain line and told me there were tree roots clogging the line. They routed the drain line with a cutting tool and this ultimately corrected the drainage problem. I am disappointed that a company who specializes in this type of repair made a faulty diagnosis, which ended up costing me an extra $350 (i.e., $150 for the Roto-Rooter service call + $200 for a replacement toilet which was not really needed).

My Technician Steve was very helpful informative and responsive. He was very professional and installed my hot water heater in a timely manner.. I’m very happy with the service I received…

I had slow draining in my tub. They came to snake the tub and that didn't work, so they tried something else. I'm grateful it worked. I learned something here. If the work you agree to them doing is not higher priced--say over $700.00 they will not honor the $75 coupon. This was a disappointment. The coupons on the website was very misleading.

When calling I had set an appointment for 10am-2pm. They called at 1:15 stating that t be there shortly. I had tenants waiting. Called @2:15 said they would be there shortly. Now it’s 4:45 they called My tenants and said they be there shortly again no show. Luckily I checked with a good friend who’s a retired plumber and told me to stay away from Roto Rooter. Maybe it was an omen.

They were amazing. My bathroom and Laundry room were flooding and water coming in with every flush! They came immediately, fixed it all, and were on the way. I have never worked with such good plumbers!

Gabriel was very prompt and knowledgeable about our problem and offered extremely professional service and wonderful advice for how the problem happened and for prevention. If I have a problem again I will ask for him by name.

Gave me a 4 hour window and never showed up. Not even an update call out of courtesy. So I called and cancelled. Woman didn't even apologize. Just said OK thanks for letting us know. I guess this is what happens when you get too big to care. Big waste of my time. Not how I would treat 1st time callers and a potential longterm customer. I'll go somewhere else. Plenty of small businesses hungry for new business.

Did well. Prompt. Knowledgeable. Good installation. Drawback: expensive - was a bit too much for installation. I bought the unit at Home Depot. The installation cost with Toto-rooter was way too much.

They don’t show up as scheduled. They overcharge,DAY 1: Told to expect someone between 8 and noon. Plumber showed at 2 unprepared to do the job and charging $69 for nothing: (pulling out my faucet hose so it no longer retracted breaking it even more). Then he told me he didn’t have the part — plumbers usually go get parts if they don’t have them but he was too late to do that.DAY 2: I scheduled a return with him initially quoting over $300 to change a simple pullout faucet hose. Supposed to show up between 8 and noon. Never came. I got a call at 4 pm that plumber coming TOMORROW between 8 and noon and I would be first.DAY 3: 8:30 I get a call that the plumber can’t come and would be here first thing TOMORROW.DAY 4: Nope. Never again.Totally unacceptable ‼️

Disappointing!!! This office and dispatch really need to get it together. I was continuously transferred and hung up on. I was promised a plumber within an hour for emergency and they kept me hanging on until close of day. Still no one came and when I called again they told me oops everyone went home so sorry. If they did not have available plumber same day just be honest. Hard-working people left work and gave up valuable time and dollars to give access to units. And no one came. No compensation for our time and money lost. Really rotten and selfish thing to do to string us along like that. Either woefully inept or lacking of integrity. Either way seriously horrific. I've used this company multiple times in multiple states. This office was the worst ever. They strung me along until too late to get another company out the same day, so 3 families without water for 2 days. The only positive is the pleasant plumber that finally came out the next day seemed to know his stuff and took care of business. Corroded kitchen sink drainpipe part discovered within wall covered with pvc was $700+ dollars. The phone customer service and dispatch made this an extremely stressful and unpleasant experience overall. Did not feel as a valued client. Will let you know if they even care to come through with remedy.

I had called several different companies, but either they were too busy or they didn't service my area. I finally called Roto Rotter. The phone call was quick, and I had an appointment for the next day! He arrived during the time given, explained the process and went to work! My toilet now works perfectly!

The service was excellent. Arrived on time and the technician was polite, well dressed, and professional. The downside was the price. He charged me $625 for a simple kitchen sink drain clog removal. After I brought up whether there were coupons available, he reduced the price to $525. I had removed all of the under sink articles and p-trap from the garbage disposal before he arrived. All he had to do was bring in his machine and run the cable down the drain for about 15 minutes and reattach the p-trap. The rest of the time was spent explaining contract terms and running my credit card. I have no problem with the service or the results, just the price. I would think somewhere between $300 and $400 would be more in line with the work done.

The work they did was great, the plumber was great at troubleshooting. My only advice is don't ask for a late afternoon appt, too much seems to build up during the day. Our appt got pushed and pushed until it was rescheduled for the next day. Dispatchers are very friendly, but their process needs some work (a friend at Salesforce said he tried to get Rotorooter as a client for streamlining their processes, and the company didn't want it)

Appreciated the same day service, technician was nice and knowledgeable, and it didn’t take long to complete the task-less than 45 min. BUT the price to open a clogged kitchen drain was stupidly high!. I asked the price before I booked them and they say the tech will tell you when inspecting the job. Even with a usual trip charge of $170, the cost was unnecessarily high. I know folks are trying to recoup losses, but not all at one from 1 customer!. I’ve used them in other cities, probably not here again. I’m done.9.22.22Update. So, customer service contacted me a couple days ago and today someone from Corporate called to explain that their prices are a set nationally. She told me the rate to clear a simple kitchen sink drain starts at $625 and can run up to $900!! Ridiculous! I asked why they don’t tell the caller that at outset-her reply is they quote when the tech comes out-depending on need, then one can reject the service while the tech is there. If she could tell me that in our conversation, they could tell a potential customer that when they 1st call to inquire about service. The upside is they come at no charge. Had I known at 1st call the range of prices, instead of waiting them to come, I would have been calling someone else So, beware-if you call them, have a backup plan with someone else just in case.

Only 1 star because 0 was not an option. After having Roto Rooter come out to fox a backing up problem, I regret it. They removed my toilet and didn't put it back correctly now it leaks. They refuse to do business wit me because I won't pay them to fix what they messed up. Tech are liars and only want to make $ off me while doing crappie work. Not worth the headache and stress. Save your $ and call someone else. They came unprepared and kept wanting to charge me for every time they had to come out to fix what they messed up, which they never did. Am still dealing with the original issue. Garbage company, they don't clean up their mess either.

The technician was able to clear the kitchen sink drain using snakehead on the drain line to unblock the slow drain issue. They provided the estimate for $500+ after checking the issue. Luckily, the estimate from another plumber was $275 so, I was able to negotiate to the same price. This charge was for less than an hour of work and inspection combined. Be aware of over charging.

After the strong rainfalls in Chicago where everyone's basement flooded we had Roto-Rooter come out. While we appreciated the prompt and professional service of all employees that came to clean and check equipment, they messed up our AC piping so the water didn't go down the drain but rather created another big puddle in our basement. I've contacted Roto-Rooters via email and left a voice message but never received a response. Then we received the invoice and contacted them again. No acknowledgement of them messing up. All they could do is sent a cleaning crew more than two weeks after. I don't need no cleaning crew now - we took care of this ourselves after no response from them. We didn't even get a partial credit on our invoice. I tried to talk to them and just a bunch of excuses why that is not possible. Imagine paying $569 for a cleaning that you just re-do yourself.So long story short - prompt and quick service but double check the work. Roto Rooter cares about money more than customer service.

They were quick to answer the phone and dispatch a drive to evaluate the problem. They quoted me $1200 to replace a shower cartridge, which is outrageously high. The $69 was expected to pay, but I feel he just pulled this number out of his hat, then told me I could probably find a cheaper price elsewhere.

Chris was phenomenal 01/29/2023 ,on time, courteous, knowledgeable, helped me tremendously, i had located a handiperson i found on angies list and he was terrible took money never performed the job caused me extreme stress, i contacted roto rooter on a Sunday and they were there within 2 hrs it took Chris no time to correct the problem which was a leak and my house was back on track, a word from the wise Always hire a Pro to to get the job done, I am so pleased with Roto-Rooter, I highly recommend them,Chris provided exemplary service on 1/30/2023, I'm so glad to have him service my homes equipment, i will always ask for him, great Job, he was on time, courteous and professional, educating me along the way, Perfect as can be, very pleased with this company,

Daniel was so patient and knowledgeable that he stuck out his job for five hours with us to make sure our sewer was clean of all roots. He was awesome and I would recommend him to anyone who has an issue like we did in the future. He is wonderful and will not rest until the job is to his satisfaction.

7 year old kitchen faucet broke and was spewing water at the handle. Shut off. tech came fairly soon on regular rate. I purchased the wrong replacement faucet so he decided to go out and buy one for me and did so on the same call. After several hours, new one installed perfectly. Bill was less than I expected for the time spent. Highly customer conscious experience with a professional.

My plumbing needs were handled the next day. The expert was on time and I found him expert and reliable. Also, the price was right. When I need something done next time, I’ll stick with Roto-Rooter for sure.

The technician who installed my new water heater (Ali) came out for a 24 emergency repair to my water heater. He was extremely helpful and thorough with explaining everything that was needed and installed the replacement. Overall very good quality and satisfied and would use Roto Rooter again.

Leonard was wonderful. Friendly but got the job done quickly. He made sure the toilet clog was gone and gave good professional advice what to do to avoid this happening again. I'll ask for him next time. This won't be my one and only time using Roto-Rooter. I'm impressed at how when, at the last minute last evening, the assigned plumber couldn't come because of an injury, the dispatcher made sure I was the first one served today. All this on a holiday.

Keenan was awesome. So helpful and kind. He stayed conscious about keeping the mess contained so clean up was a breeze. I've dealt with roto rooter before but Keenan really made me feel like he cared about solving my issue instead of just another get in. Get out job. He took his time and explained what he was doing. I'll be requesting Keenan in the future for sure.

I needed to have a faucet replaced in the kitchen. I purchased the faucet and only required the labor to remove the old and install the new. I called in for pricing, but I was told that they would not provide pricing over the phone. Only a technician on site could give pricing. If I do not move forward with the work I would be responsible to pay a service charge. I set up an appointment for that evening. 1 hour before my appointment window when the technician was due to arrive, the dispatcher called and said that they did not have any techs available to make the appointment. The appointment was re-scheduled for the following morning.The technician arrived the next morning and came in to provide the pricing which was $705. it was explained that it was probably a 1-2 hour job, so the price was excessive in my opinion. The technician offered to show me the pricing sheet to prove that is the cost of a faucet replacement. I moved forward with the work and the technician was on site less than 50 minutes for the repair.I was unhappy with the initial missed appointment and the excessive cost. I reached out to their customer service manager to see if a resolution could be reached where I didn't have to leave a negative review. The Roto Rooter employee that called me was not interested in resolving my issue and she actually spoke negatively about their own company employees. In a nutshell she told me We have raised prices every year for the last 4-5 years. Yes, that same repair would have been $200-300 a few years ago. I understand you have to raise prices, but double or triple in 4-5 years is excessive.I can see that the focus is no longer on the customer and that they'll continue to raise prices. I won't be using Roto Rooter moving forward.

Patricio diagnosed the problem quickly. I spent the weekend digging up the septic line and his diagnosis was exactly correct. I was able to fix the break in the line and everything works great. He's a valuable asset to your company and would recommend him highly.

I felt like I was being pressured to buy a new unit instead of repairing the one I had. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get a part and they wouldn’t guarantee their work. I think they were using scare tactics. I am a widowed senior citizen and felt like I was being taken advantage of. I paid for the house call and am getting a second opinion. My water heater is only 5 years old.

Our main sewer line was clogged and we called Roto-Rooter for help. The technician was professional and on time. Our issue was fixed quickly, for a fair price.

Had a broken pipe behind the wall, they had to open wall and remove broken pipe and put in a shutoff valve in. Took two hours. Cost was $1100 Thought it was a little pricey and could have done a better job cleaning up. Otherwise the guy that came out was very nice.

The service provider name was Manny. He was the cleanest plumber that has ever come into my home. He put on boot covers without me asking. He wiped down the sink, my floors and any other area he touched. He also didn't mind me watching him work. He was very educational and even engaged me in pleasant conversation while he worked. It was the best experience I have ever had with a plumber. I would use rotor rooter again just based off my experience with him.The reason I needed rotor rooter was because my bathroom sink was draining poorly. He immediately discovered the issue which was my pop up drained and upon discovering that issue, he discovered another issue. Everything was fixed ina timely manner and now my sink drains perfectly

The spigot on the outside of my house was leaking. It was the original spigot put on the house when it was built in 1958. On Oct 26, 2022 it was replaced with a new spigot with no leaks. I am satisfied with the work that was done by Rotor Rooter and I always recommend there service to my family and friends.

Justin was fantastic, showed up quickly and explained things thoroughly. He worked really hard at trying to clear our line, but wasn't able to get it done due to the nature of the blockage. He was able to tell us the next steps that need to be taken to get it fixed. Hopefully the Roto Rooter hydro jet guys will be as good as Justin was.

Tony was super helpful and was able to find my clean out even though it was partially hidden and camouflaged in the dirt. I would recommend him to anybody needing plumbing work done.

First off, did not keep their promise of informing me 30 mins before they would arrive. I ended up calling them 3 times to get a status update on the plumber to eventually canceling the appointment. The building engineer, other people in the building were inconvenienced because of this 2 hour wait and watch. And by the way, getting bounced around between customer service and dispatch and hold and then dispatch was no fun!After rescheduling for another time, to replace a below the sink valve and flushing the water heater guess what they charged me? $898. For a 1.5 hour job? If it was NOT for the guests in my house I would NOT have willingly gotten ripped off by these guys.Finally, the plumber and I agreed that he will walk me through the work that he did after he is done. He decided to walk way from the job site without talking me to and walking me through the work he did. His excuse - you have 6 months of warranty on this stuff anyways. Why does it matter?I would look for alternatives before you call these guys.Update --- Got a follow-up call from Roto-Rooter.This is how disorganized the company is.I got one call from the dispatch center to discuss the dispatch related issues. The person who called had NOT reviewed the calls or looked over the notes before calling me.I got a second call from the corporate office for the personnel -plumber involved. I learned that the plumber due to company policy required to leave the job site once he / she has done all the work to the next job site. So if they don't tell you they are done or don't demonstrate to you that they fixed what they came to do its totally normal. This woman told me that they are NOT required to do that. This is the corporate way.

Alex replaced my old toilet with an even better one. Very kind and professional. He explained everything he did and even found a new problem I didn't know I had and helped me find a way to repair it.

STAY AWAY, NO ETHICS COMPANY. zero stars if I could. My kitchen faucet broke. Absolutely nothing had to be done with pipes, I just needed the faucet replaced. I bought a brand new faucet from Home Depot for $250 and I just needed it installed. Roto Rooter showed up, quoted me $525 to just install a faucet. He was also 3 hours late past the window so I completely missed work that day. I would have called another company had I known I would have had to miss a day of work and would be quoted an outrageous amount for something that any other plumbing company does for $150 or less. By the time the plumber finally decided to show up it was too late in the day to schedule another plumber and I was not going to miss another day at the firm as we were preparing for a big trial and I needed to be there. I talked the plumber down to $425, which is still a complete ripoff. Roto-Rooter is an absolute rip off, DO NOT call them. You guys are a terrible company.

They replaced a sump pump and dropped it and broke a pipe while trying to remove it. They spilled feces all over the floor and then tried to charge me an additional $1400 for cleaning.

This place is a joke, scheduled many times and got phone calls everyday either asking me about information or courtesily telling me I’d get a call before plumber gets on the way for half month but there was never a plumber showed up and telling me what’s going on. How did you get 4.8 score? By scamming?

Jeff was our tech, arrived 1 hour after calling. Undoubtedly years of experience, diagnosed the problem right away and fixed our issue. Explained how this issue came to be and how to prevent it from happening again. Left my other plumbing company I used and I'm sticking here.

I gave them four stars instead of five because they told me they would be at my house in an hour so I had to leave where I was, drive a half hour but when I get home they said they couldn’t make it till the next day, very very frustrating. But they did give me a discount for that inconvenience. I did not mark good value because I thought for them being here a half an hour Minus the price for the part, that it was very very expensive.I did like Ali the technician, very much. I could understand him and he was very professional and he absolutely knew what he was doing.

My toilet was badly clogged. The gentleman was super professional and friendly. He assessed the issue and gave me advice of how to prevent it happening in the future. We required a very extensive repair to our sewer line including concrete work which was done thoroughly and properly in record time, given the extensive work, by Jason and his partner. A call-back for a secondary problem was handled promptly with thorough testing by tech 9818(Dave) and tech 4644.

Both men had worked fifteen hour days after unprecedented rainfall and flooding in Chicago, yet when they arrived at our home were so incredibly friendly and professional. After a catastrophic overflow of our kitchen sink on a holiday weekend (just eight days after purchasing our home), the men promptly sent by Roto-Rooter could not have been more professional and helpful. From Fidan & Kelly who came within the hour and identified the issue, to Joe the picote specialist who came the next day and descaled our problematic pipe, to Doug and Jose with the flood mitigation team for safely drying and disinfecting the flooded areas, we could not have been more satisfied by the skill and professionalism of all those who assisted us. I didn't get anything repaired, but the guy came out to do a diagnosis so that I could let my landlord know what the issue was. He was friendly and he quickly figured out the problem.

Great service. Unfortunately we've needed to be repeat customers. The original repair / clog removal price was $350 but we got just under half off for being repeat customers. Our tech gave us that option unprompted, and stayed until he was 100% sure the clog was gone, even snaking the toilet an extra time. Really appreciate that level to detail and offering to make it more affordable.

I had a draining issue for a few weeks, and had quite a few other people come out to take a look in order to help resolve the issue, but they were either unable to help or they quoted me a seemingly ridiculous amount of money. Justin was able to diagnose the issue, and gave me a somewhat reasonable quote. After agreeing, he kept great communication in the actions they were taking. He did not quit till the issue was solved which took a big load off my shoulders. Thank you!

We received excellent service from Roto Rooter! They were able to diagnose the problem and clearly explain to me the work that needed to be performed. They were flexible working with older plumbing pieces in our house to make sure everything is now running smoothly.

These guys were great. They asked if I wanted it done the right way or just a quick fix. I got it done the right way and happy I did. They were quick and the finished results are great. We had a pipe in the crawl space that was flooding and not set up properly. They fixed it up and made it level. Cost $285 which I thought was fair. ??

Had a clog in my main line and roto rooter spent 3 hours fixing it. Turns out they didnt use the proper tools to do the job and never actually cleared it out causing the line to flood again the next day. Very poor service and it cost me 600 dollars.

We had a plumbing emergency in our laundry room on a holiday. We called other 24hr emergency plumbing services that came up on Google but none returned our call. Roto-Rooter picked up and had someone here 30 min later! Problem was fixed within the hour and we were able to enjoy our Memorial Day weekend.Everyone was so nice and professional. Highly recommend them.

I didn't end up using the company for a simple fix to an existing water line to attach it to a new fridge. The cost for the visit alone was $69. Any service from this company starts at $325 per the plumber who came by. I wish I'd known this before. So it was $325 just to hook up the existing plastic water line and $625 if I wanted to replace the water line with copper or metal. The plumber also didn't wear a mask and questioned why I was wearing one in my own home. I had to inform him of a newborn that I didn't want to get sick. Not gonna call this company again.

I called Roto Rooter after water started coming up through our basement at the drain tiles. They were responsive, here within 5 hours on a Sunday, and Ali was extremely helpful and professional in helping me identify the problem.

Selling my home and needed a sump pump repair following an inspection. The owner had a tech out immediately to have the pump inspected. Cody, the tech, was very professional, friendly, and quick to find the problem. The repair was scheduled immediately, for a low price. I was not charged for the initial inspection either! I would 100% recommend this company! I will not be using any other company in the future other than Roter Rooter for my plumbing needs.

First off customer service was friendly, but just really expensive especially for not solving the problem at the end of the day. Two guys came out who were really friendly and professional. They did come out on a Sunday morning so that was a plus, but problem was they didn’t diagnose the problem correctly and so, instead of paying $69 for the visit fee. I spent $425 have 2 large holes in my wall (thankfully not visible since it’s behind the laundry machine and fridge but will still need to be repaired.) and the leak was caused by a fridge and not the actual pipes. Also a little annoyed because he specifically said in the beginning if the leak was coming from the fridge then it would be a constant leak, so he ruled it out early on when that ended up being the problem (fridge was only leaking when we pushed the lever for water, absorbing into the floor so no visible puddle when they pulled the fridge and started to pool in my sons room (opposite side of the fridge)). So not a plumbing issue, an appliance issue. They were nice, felt bad about offering the wrong diagnosis, but they did just miss the mark completely on what the problem was and I end up paying for it, they still made the money they were supposed to without resolving anything, and I’m in a worse off situation then when I first started because now I have to spend additional money on top of what I already overpaid them (69 v 425) to fix their mistake, walls that didn’t need holes in them which isn’t really fair. Being able to correctly assess the situation, especially with 2 people is part of the job, and while being friendly is needed in todays world, many of us can’t afford to waste money on someone else’s mistake. Company should have financially taken some responsibility to remedy. If I had to do over, would have definitely skipped on using them.

I hired you in January due to water coming from the ceiling - well here I am in August with another $800 bill for the same thing. I should have been credited for the $350. Your guy didn't do the job. According to the guy the other day, in order to use the auger the toilet would have been on. Well it was removed by us prior to you being here so no toilet was on. I asked to ensure the line was clear and even said i would pay extra for the camera. Wasn't done and a less than a year later water was pouring from my ceiling again. I will not be using you again. I will find someone reliable who does the job correctly. I now have to repair my ceiling again. I also heard a noise with my toilet again so you will most likely have to do it right again since it is supposedly guaranteed.

There was a funky smell coming from my washer/dryer closet (stacked washer/dryer). After confirming nothing was wrong with the machines, I called Roto Rooter. A guy came out. He was nice enough but immediately dismissed any plumbing issues, and instead sealed a toilet in the powder room next to the laundry closet. The smell persisted. I called again, and was given a 3-7pm window on a Tuesday. After jumping through hoops to leave work early and get home for that window, I got a call at 6pm saying no one was available. I had to reschedule for the next day. Not only was that inconvenient, but the person on the line was rude about it. I rescheduled for the 10-2 window today (Wed). At noon I received a call saying no one was available and they would be late. At that point, I just canceled. Massive waste of time, energy and money. They did not listen to me or take my issue seriously, didn't fix the right thing, and they never made it right.

Michael was excellent . He was informative , friendly and professional. He was very thorough and kept us informed the whole time he was here clearing our drain . We were extremely happy with the whole experience.

We had two repairmen. Theu were both cordial. The first struggled with the issue, but they promptly brought someone who could fix it the next day. I was a big fan of that plumber. Michael was very knowledgeable, professional, and effective.

nice service man but too expensive. i will never use roto rooter again he wanted over $700 to replace the water shut off valve to the house i called another company and got it done for $150. but he did charge over $900 to replace the faucet in the kitchen sink. the drain leaked and he did not hook up the water to the refrigerator for the ice maker. another service man came and fixed it. he did a very good job. but over $900 to replace the kitchen faucet was way too much.

Some of the work was OK, but incomplete and not thorough. We had another sewer back-up in two days, and you failed to honor the ‘free call-back’ offered by first plumber. Second ROTI ROOTER plumber did incomplete job, and we had to hire someone else NOT ROTO ROOTER to do it correctly. Will NEVER use or recommend you.

I called on a Sunday afternoon with a sewer issue the tech came out and did his best to snake out the pipe but needed help so he contacted his Field Supervisor Tony, he came explained my problem and scheduled a day to repair the pipe unfortunately it rained that day and my basement started taking on water, one of his crew Roberto, showed up right away with a pump within a day I was up and running again. I had no experience in this type of issue so Tony and his crew were very patient with me and did their best to explain my problem and what needed to be done. I called Tony many times to ask questions and he always responded and answered all my questions giving me piece of mind I will definitely use Roto Rooter again.

My plumber was Arbr and he was a very nice,calm, and insightful worker.Very knowledgeable and walked me through the process and cleaning/repair. Advised useful tips to help prevent and maintain a working pipe system. We only have one bathroom and this was much appreciated to have a working drain system. Would definitely recommend using this service again but hopefully it would be just a routine cleaning and not a repair.

Very friendly and efficient service. We just painted the bathroom walls and I was worried that they would get stained but the plumber was very mindful of the situation and left the entire bathroom as clean when he left as it was when he came.

We've used Roto Rooter twice now, and both times I was impressed with the speed and availability of service (off business hours) as well as the professionalism of the technicians. Unfortunately after our last service there was an issue, but customer service was wonderfully responsive. A very helpful new tech, Gabriel, came out and the repairs were complete less than 24 hours later. He was thorough with the repair, conscientious with our time, friendly with my children, polite and professional. He was quick and tidy in his work and I would definitely recommend him for any of your plumbing needs!

Our sump pump, basically, died after 3 months in a newly built home. They were quick to respond and quickly diagnosed the problem. Most helpful.

New homeowner, water drain was not draining to the sump efficiently and kept flooding my garage. The night before we had a really bad storm and the flooding was the worst id seen and it was supposed to rain more over the next 3 days. A neighbor recommended these guys. I made an appointment online and they called me to confirm within a half hour and were able to send someone out within 2 hours of that call. Guy came in and within an hour cleaned the drain out completely and was on his way. Real friendly, showed me what any issues were and how to mitigate them or what i should do differently if i were to redesign in the future. Hopefully, i dont need to call them again, but if i do i would go with roto because i know theyll do it right.

I've been trying to fix this toilet for a week... after my defeat I called rotorooter. They had an amazing professional, Fidan, come within the hour. He was kind, professional and extremely efficient. I will be calling again when I need them and will be asking for him specifically.

Professional and prompt service. Fidan completed the service call with quality and in time. He cleared the pipes of roots and got the water discharging again. He provided excellent recommendations and even brought Kelly Reed with his camera to verify the next steps. It saved thousands of dollars.

Danny resolved my problem with the septic tank to the house. My Mom lives in a 100 year old farm house and she can flush her toilets again and take a shower. Danny was very nice and professional and took the time to explain what we can do to help keep the system working.

Called for bathroom faucet repair estimate that would not stop running water . Estimate provided was exorbitantly overpriced. The price would have replaced te sink, faucet hardware, and toilet. They wasted my time and insulted my intelligence. As a woman, I would not trust this company to offer fair, priced quality service.

They charged me $650 to simply replace a toilet wax seal (average cost with labor is $150); no tiles or pipes were involved. Although the service was professional and snappy, I felt incredibly swindled for how uncomplicated the task was. They certainly lost a customer today.

$170 to come out and tell me I need a new sump pump. They didn’t explain any technical problem with the pump just that I needed a new one. I would’ve been better off with a mom and pop plumbing service to be more detailed and give me more clarity.

We had the misfortune of having a drain issue over a holiday weekend. They were really professional and got the issue fixed quickly. This was our first time using them and I would definitely recommend their services.

The plumber tried to rod the main sewer line but was unsuccessful wanted $710 for this service. Wanted to upsell me to power jet cleaning for $1200 on top of the $710.Called another plumber and they were successful rodding it for $300. Never going to use Roto-Rooter and will tell everyone I know not to use Roto-Rooter. Way too pricy and try to upsell to a service that was not needed.

Marc the technician came 2 hours after his window. He swung by and did nothing, collected his diagnostic fees without diagnosis. Said the washer needs to be replaced and the charges to repair will be $600k. That too not at that moment, he will have to come the next day for the fix. A $1.47 worth of material with labor. Seriously??Never ever go with Roto. Total scam !!!

At first I was very happy with their service - easy to get a hold off - had someone available to come out with 2 days notice. Guy comes out (on time) ... he assesses that I need a new fill valve and flapper. (a quick google search, shows that this is $22 worth of parts at Home Depot) ... he however quotes me $535 to do the work ..... their hourly labor rate is $395???? ... a complete RIPOFF!!! I of course told him no thank you, made a quick neighborhood post on Facebook, and found someone who can do it for $100 per hour, and use the parts that I bought at Home Depot for $22... I wish I would have done some more research on this company before hand - but hope that this review helps others in the same situation! Stay away from this ripoff of clients ...

Had used Roto-Rooter about 10 years ago for the same service, having the sewer pipe from the house cleared out. Website for scheduling was very easy showing same day availability with times. Email acknowledgment was prompt. The scheduler called ahead and the technician was available to an hour ahead of schedule. He had our previous work history on his company app and was able to clearly quote and take payment for the new job. They hit every mark on the customer service experience. Would definitely use them again.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Called at 8:00am with am emergency and the dispatcher said we have availability between 8:30 and 12:00. When they didn’t show up I called and was told I would get a call back which didn’t happen. By 4:00 I called and requested to speak with a supervisor. When he got on the phone he said they would have someone there by 6:00. They never came or called.I got a call telling me they had availability at 6:45 the next evening, 36 hours after they promised.I don’t know if they are trained to tell you whatever you want to hear or just prefer to lie but I spoke with 4 different people and they all made promises they didn’t keep, Acknowledge or apologize for.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LOOK ELSEWHERE. There are plenty of honest, reputable plumbers what will treat you better.

Discovered basement floor drain was backed up and causing flooding on a Saturday night. Scheduled online, they responded Sunday morning, were out in the afternoon and done. Was less then expected also. Tech was extremely nice and professional.

I would put zero stars if I could. Do not waste your money. A technician came to our new condo to unclog our kitchen sink; he unclogged it, but in doing so burst a pipe and now water is dripping from our basement ceiling. He took no responsibility and left; not only can we still not use the kitchen sink, but we also need to find someone to repair the pipe and ceiling. In talking to the managers at Roto-Rooter, they claimed that it was a 'faulty' pipe and refused to do anything to remedy the secondary issue that THEY caused.

We had Rotto Rooter come out to sneak a camera down underground pipes to make sure we had a good water flow and there were no additional unknown leaks. The concrete had already been broken up and the original water leak fixed by our plumber.Rotto Rooter was excellent at coming out and providing camera video footage to ensure us everything looks good so that we can seal up the whole and move forward.Thank you to our tech yams the field supervisor who came out, they were both excellent!

I had a clogged toilet and they were able to unclog it in less than 5 min. However, they charged me $340 for the service. I feel it is ridiculously expensive. I will not be using their services again.

I have water flooding my laundry room. We had to turn the AC off. I called and received an arrival window of 5:30 - 7:30pm. I call at 7:30 and they tell me they will not be coming tonight after all. What happened to being a 24 hour business? Apparently there is a major disparity between the customer service people who answer your call (mine was Cristina) and say yes, absolutely we can help you to the actual dispatcher (mine was Douglas) who says Yeah, about that, we cannot come tonight at all and I can I only place a request for someone to come between 8-10am tomorrow, There is no guarantee. How is this okay in today's world? Oh, and I was offered a 10% discount for tomorrow's visit but little good that will do me when my woodwork is soaking wet after sitting in a puddle all night.

I often rely on Roto Rooter because they always do a great job. On the other hand, they are so expensive I always wonder if I made a mistake. They charged us $700 to replace the handle on our shower!

The good-- easy and convenient online scheduling system! A text and e-mail was sent confirming the appointment within an hour.As for the job itself, it was a fast and efficient service from start to finish. And the final price was acceptable with a very generous discount, which I HIGHLY appreciated!The con-- the day of the appointment was a horrendous mess and a merry go round of bring given the runaround. I had scheduled service with the two hour window of 2-4pm Sunday. Well by 4pm, it was a no show, no call. Not even a courtesy call from the company that there were no available plumbers and that they may be delayed! So I decided to call to inquire an ETA. Simple question that should've been a simple answer, right? Unfortunately not. Instead I was placed on hold multiple times with multiple reps (probably went through 3-4; each time I was being transferred to the dispatch team. It was probably about 40 minutes altogether of being given the runaround! The initial rep told me that me the service was actually between 2 AND 6! Well if that had been disclosed to me between the time of making the appointment and the day of the service, I would've been fine had I been given a straight answer. However, it wasn't-- both the confirmation text AND the appointment window only listed a two hour window NOT 4.By 6 I FINALLY received a call that a plumber had been freed up and would arrive by 6:30.So the technician shows up at 6:30; however customer service was definitely not a strong suit. I was met with a rather abrasive attitude. After I explained the issue, it felt like he was just rushing through just to diagnose and fix the problem instead of taking the time to explain what the issue was and giving the impression he really wanted to satisfy the customer (which he eventually did by the end of the night). Now it could be because he just came from another job and it was already late, but I expected more of a friendly, professional demeanor coming from a big company like this. Instead I was met with a brashness that just rubbed me the wrong way, making me question if I really wanted to go through with the job when the technician went off to purchase the parts. With that being said, the technician eventually warmed up later in the evening as the job was being performed.All in all, this could've been a much better experience with improved communication, prompt follow up, and friendly customer service.

Guy w/o examine of water tank immediately said it was broke when i said water got in it. i was shocked. o said can you light the pilot. he said no. cause its broken plus it wont stay lite. i said ill take that chance. its now been 2 days and pilot is still lite. he told me 2200 for a new heater. this company is all about money. dont use them.

Roto- rooter cleaned my main sewer line and did a good job. They then told me about a number of urgent repairs that were needed, but that I would have to pay $1,500 first for a hydro jet clean of the same sewer line so their camera could see things more clearly. They called me numerous times to set up the 2nd appt, but when I pushed for a write up of needed repairs Roto-Rooter stopped communicating with me. I ended up paying another plumber $300 who had a camera that could clearly see I had 2 non urgent issues. So, 3 stars because they did a good job cleaning my line, but I would not use them again.

They were courteous enough to take us on the same day and call when the service person was running late due to previous job taking longer than expected. The service man was very friendly and clean. He finished immediately. I just wish it were Cheaper but that's our economy!

Roto-rooter isn’t my favorite company but this young man ARBR put on his slippers before entering my home took great car of my floor and was highly informative I felt confident I found a good handy man. Hired to repair a leaky sink. Guy never came, finally came to fix it. Nice guy. But the sink is still leaking, called to schedule right after. Never showed up, and it’s been a week after.

Tim was absolutely great. Very professional & honest. He took the time to explain everything going on & what he was doing to fix it.The first time we called the company, they said a tech would be to our home by 9:15pm. Around 10pm we called and they said we were not on their list and quickly hung up on us. We had to call again the following morning to make a new appointment. We were told a crew would come by later with cameras to determine how bad damage was but we never heard back from anyone.Service was great when they were here but seems to be a lack of communication and lack of professionalism on their night crew dispatch.

Came in ran a snake and cleared the pipe. Great job and professional. $656.25 for about 15 min job just seems rather pricey.

THe technician was great! But I asked Roto-Rooter on the phone what does this type of service cost and the representative said they could not answer. The truth is it is fixed price for this type of service and it would have been one of two prices. So he could have answered. I assume he didn't is because it was very expensive for the work actually performed. But once the tech is here you are really over a barrel. That I didn't like and that is the reason I gave only three stars. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars, because as I said the the was great and so was the work.

Do not waste your time. They are money grubers and will charge whatever they want!They have no basic value, just whatever the inspector calls it, that's how much it will cost is what I was told. They wanted over $650 to unclog my grandma's shower drain. With no parts, no tax, no additional fees. Then what is worth that much? Its definitely not the travel because we are within their radius!No thank you. Never again. Might as well install a new shower!

I own a rental property and am always wary about using big companies to fix repair issues, but I have to say these guys were really great. Don't get me wrong, it was expensive, and probably a good amount more than I'd pay hiring an independent plumber, but the guy who came (Jeff) was excellent. Really took the time to explain everything clearly, and offered a lot of useful advice. Plus they came out on a Sunday within three hours of calling for the appointment. In a pinch it's great to know there's a reliable company like this that does good work. Very happy with the overall experience.

Andrew was super friendly and very knowledgeable. He took the time to show me where the problem was and what repairs were needed before finalizing the work. He gave me a few options and then continued to do the work. Throughout his work he was clean, considerate of my bathroom, and did an awesome job! Absolutely trash. They stood me up twice. the third time the plumber came in and took a look at the leakage around my toilet and quoted 520+ I was like NO sir this is too much. Then he proceeded to give me a 50% discount and it's 300. This is not the way business is done. Unethical to its finest. I explained to the plumber and let him know I do not appreciate how he does business. He had the audacity to charge me the flat fee of 69 dollars. I told him I will call to complain and he called someone in front of me explaining the situation to his partner or whatever she thinks its too expensive even after I gave her 50% off discount DUDE THE ISSUE isn't about the costs. It's about how you were trying to rip me off!

Their plumbers are knowledgeable, but they are very expensive. We just paid $875 for under one hour of rooting work, admittedly on a Friday night but still. If you've got a good local guy, you'll be better off than using Roto. Also, try this - tell them no and watch and see if they come back with a lower price.

The work was great but due but the works were late. The first scheduled day for 8am-12pm service had to be rescheduled because it was after 12 and they were still on the first call. I didn't even receive a call about running behind, I had to call and connect with dispatch to find out the ETA. I was then rescheduled the next day as the first customer (8am-10am) due to the circumstance the day before. The repairman and apprentice still didn't arrive until 11:20am. The job only took a total of 15 minutes. Time should be a consideration with all clients.

I have always had such great service from Roberto, who came out, and everyone on the phone at Roto-Rooter, and have used them for 2 places I have lived and will continue to do so. This visit he was able to quickly resolve one issue, and help me schedule a repair for early next week on another concern. I am very grateful as always.

Tech # 9823 charged $625 per faucet to replace. My old faucets were less than 3 years old and it was a very uncomplicated job. Save your money and go elsewhere.UPDATE - I already talked to the company about this issue and they refused to explain the pricing. I liked the fact that the Roto-Rooter phone reps alerted me that I could have an earlier appointment time for the technician, Steve Carr, to perform his duties for my service call. He seemed to be very professional and took the necessary precautions to ensure my safety. He socially-distanced himself and donned the appropriate PPE, including shoe covers. When the job was complete, he asked me if I would like to take a look at his work. From what I could tell, he seemed to have installed my ejector pump correctly. These are the hallmarks of great customer service.

I always have had great work done with Roto Rooter. Discounts, ect. This time for just the little work that had to be done was too high of a price. I have more issues to be done in the bathroom that had to be done & was at a cheaper price.

We had a clogged kitchen sink. RR was super responsive and came out to fix within 3 hours of getting in touch with their office.

They were very prompt and professional although a little expensive for a clogged bathroom sink. They did discover the P-trap was cracked and replaced it with no extra charge.

Given a four hour window and told the person I needed someone today and if they could not come today I would call someone else. Was assured they would make it today. Get a call 2 and a half hours later that they wouldn't be making it today and let's reschedule for tomorrow. What a waste of my time as I could have had someone out here. Unbelievable.

Everything about the service call was easy and on-point. The phone call to the call center at 10 PM was picked up after two rings with no voice prompts, and the next morning the technician arrived 20 minutes into our 4 hour service window. Yuri (Tech #1195) was great to talk to and very informative. Not only did he diagnose our issue, but he talked about how it happened and how to prevent it in the future. Then gave us a discount, which was later I found was a discount from the website. According to Angie’s List, Roto-Rooter typically charges between $160–$450 for common plumbing issues such as dripping faucets, line repairs, or clogged drains.We had to get it fixed no matter what so, we had to pay for it but just so you know, this place is very costly.

We highly recommend Nick. Nick was able to diagnose the problem, cleaned the pipes of roots and got the water discharged from both sewer lines. Nick provided camera video footage to ensure the lines were cleaned.

My appointment was scheduled for the very next day even though I didn’t call till after 9 pm. Quicker than I anticipated. Arrived when they said they would. Technician was extremely knowledgeable and pinpointed where the problem was quickly and explained the various scenarios of what could be causing the problem. Price I felt was reasonable and fair. He found the exact cause and took care of it efficiently. This was an ongoing problem I’ve been dealing with on and off since April 2021. Had another plumber out on 3 separate occasions, spent hundreds of dollars, and problem still occurred. Would have saved myself a lot of dollars and grief if I had called Roto rooter first. Lesson learned.

My experience was excellent. Andre#89 71 was very informative and helpful. He identified and explained the issue in detailed. Most importantly, he did not charge me unnecessary charges. He took the initiative to identify other areas that needed to be addressed and contacted his co-worker who was an expert in that particular area. Andre was very professional and had great interpersonal skills. I thought the fee was a little much, but Andre did provide excellent service which made swiping my card less painful(smile). I have found me a new company to address my plumbing concerns. I was very satisfied with Andre, the quick services I received, and customer service given by everyone at this company. The technician not only knew the solution right the way, but also did it with patience and care. He used the machine several times to make sure all the grease was cleared from my kitchen drainage, which is more than 50 feet from the sink to outside. I am very satisfied with the result.

I had a wonderful experience after suffering a serious clog in the main sewage line causing significant problems (including waste water seeping back into the apartment). Alan from Roto-Rooters arrived on time and within just a few hours of my booking the appointment. He was extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure the problem was resolved, going above and beyond to find the source of the problem and the best way to attack it.

Really disappointed with their customer service and their pricing. Apparently Roto-Rooter charges $600+ for every job regardless of time until they feel it was too much time. Charged me $665 to change a water valve for less than an hour and still had the nerve to charge for parts. I'm done with this company and just beware of the price gauging.August 2, 2021 update*****It's been about two weeks since I was contacted by someone at the company and haven't heard anything since then. Just for anyone that maybe wondering if they try to resolve the issue, the answer is no.

From the phone call to job completion it was a total breeze. Everyone I talked with had an awesome attitude and were very personable. Had to have the main line rodded out, and our line is pretty close to some personal items and not one spec of anything on those items. As great as the experience was the price was even better. Will totally use again if needed.

Mostly positive results here! It was my first time calling Roto-Rooter. I had spent the better part of 3 hours trying to clear out the blockage in my drains myself, but was getting nowhere, so I called in the experts. Andrew (#2658) got the job done and my drains are now clean. See below for more details!The good: They showed up within 2 hours of my call, and the technician stuck with it for the full almost 3 hours it took to clear the drain. He had the equipment necessary to complete the work on this visit and knew where to go to accurately assess the problem.The bad: The dispatcher had told me it would be 1 hour from my initial call until the technician was on site. My original expectations were between 2 to 4 hours, so this was still impressive especially for same day, but the dispatcher shouldn't have said 1 hour if it was really going to be 2. Also, the equipment was kind of falling apart and the technician had to stop a couple of times to put it back together.The ugly: Not much cleanup was done, and the technician only had the one pair of shoe covers (which, you can imagine from the work being done, got dirty quickly), so a bit more dirt was tracked than I would have liked.Overall, I'm satisfied with the work and would call them again.

I had issues with my insurance company & it took forever & ridiculous amount of my time calling them just for a reply. This unfortunately made me lower my review. Technician was responsive and good communicator. It was quick and easy to schedule an appointment and the tech explained everything thoroughly.

My service provider was nice and got the job done, but he was the second one assigned to me.. the first one called 10 minutes before my timeslot saying he was on the way, then after 90 minutes didn't show up. I had to call several times to figure this out and get another one sent out to me. I had to move around my meetings so I could accommodate this new plumber. Also the service fee felt expensive for what he was actually doing.

Called Roto-Rooter around 11:00 to have someone come out and replace my garbage disposal. The scheduler was very nice; I received an appointment confirmation by email immediately and within 20 minutes I got a call that Kyle was on his way and should arrive in 30 to 40 minutes. In 20 minutes Kyle was here and talked through the replacement. He told me about pricing options and gave me a good deal. He completely the work quickly and thoroughly. Was very pleased with the service I received!

Great experience with RotoRooter. After we called with a backed up main sewer line, first a manager-type showed up within two hours to evaluate the problem; the tech (Juan, Tech #5155) showed up two hours later and did a great job not only fixing the problem but also he was great to deal with, kept us informed with the progress, and cleaned up after himself nicely. Another manager named Bob also came by, inspected the pipe with a camera, and told us about getting an external access pipe installed. He was also really nice, didn't high-pressure-sell us. Roto-Rooter is expensive, but they showed up in good time and did a fine job.

We had a main line sewer clog on a Sunday. Andre (#8971) came out and got everything working! He found the source of the blockage and cleared the tree roots from the sewer line. He showed me the problem areas on the camera and explained things to me in terms I could understand. I appreciate his diligence, hard work and all the time and effort he put in to fixing the problem. Patricio, employee ID 2029, was fast, professional, and very polite. As a matter of fact, they originally stated they couldn’t get someone out until noon and then they called back at about 10 am and stated they had someone who could come out immediately. This was important to us since we have 2 small children and couldn’t use the bathtub. I only took off one star because of the price. That part I believe was outrageous; however, the professionalism and quickness of the company to get out to our house was fabulous.

I have now used Rooter Rooter two times. I originally tried to go with a privately owned company. I thought I would come out ahead that way. To my surprise I was not able to hire anyone in northwest Chicago that was privately owned. They either flaked on me or they never returned my phone calls. So, with both of my issues, I reached out to Rooter-Rooter. Both times they were professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and responsive. The first time I had an emergency on New Years Eve and they dispatched someone right away. The pricing was not a huge dent to my budget either. I am grateful for their service and will be using them again in the future.

He took his time and did what needed to be done. I couldn't have been any happier with the service he provided. When I made the appointment, I was told it would be early afternoon before he could get there. I received a call about and hour later (still in the morning) saying he was running a little late. Instead, he showed up before around noon, which was actually earlier than the original time quoted. I found my experience with Roto-Rooter to be first rate from the initial call to its completion.

Our water heater had stopped working. We were unable to fix the problem ourselves, so decided to contact roto-rooter.The individual came to our home, and indicated that numerous different parts needed to be replaced and that this would be a job that would cost up to apprx $1,500. After a few minutes I decided to go review our warranty and upon learning this, our technician suddenly fixed the problem (the thermostat needed to be reset). Our heat had been set too high, and our tank was overheated, and switched off. After thanking the technician and asking him what he did to reset the thermostat and get the pilot light back on, he joked that if he told me, he'd have to kill me. I was not bothered by the joke, but this certainly highlighted that he was more interested in creating a job for himself than he was in fixing the issue and helping us avoid this in the future.At the end of the day, this experience certainly burned any trust that I have in the company, and would not use or recommend that anybody use Roto-Rooter. Go local.

The plumber they dispatched for us was great. His work was well done and detailed. I gave 4 stars because I was told by the dispatch service that there was no estimate fee. When our guy came out he said that the estimate was free, but that the inspection fee was $165. I like more transparency.

I contacted Roto Rooter on a Saturday evening when my sink became backed up and wouldn't drain at all. They were at my house by 9am Sunday morning and within a half hour (maybe even less) I had a clear drain and was able to use my sink again. I needed a single hole faucet replaced .I bought my own faucet. My siblings where at home because I had to workThe technician sold 2 plastic L pipes to my siblings for 40 dollars , they cost 5 bucks each . He then charged them 705$ for installation of the faucet. Was disappointed that our hot water heater failed after only four years and we were told it would be too difficult to repair it, so ended up spending a lot more to get yet another new one. Our tech was very good, David, very hard working and prompt. Setting up the appointment was quick and easy, and timely.

I called on saturday 2pm. They made an appointment for 4pm. Great! They called at 4 and said they wont be there until 7pm. Then at 8:30 i get a call that they wont be there until9-11am. At 11:30 they called and said he is on the way. No eta... then he arrives finds out it is a 15 ft snake needed to fix and quotes $600!! Im super fair and know b.s complaints but this was a legit bad job on their parts. No apologies given.

We had multiple problems and the team took care of them. The team was very supportive, truly tried to help, and were all very professional. The work was done on time and clean up was great. Even though several free services were provided, to be honest, we felt the project was pricey. It is likely that any reputable provider would charge a similar amount, but we would be less than honest, if we weren't surprised at the cost. Finally, truly evaluating this type of work can only be done after a period of time. In that regard, we appreciate the work guarantees.

My husband and I recently moved to the area and had a sewage backup issue arise. Roto-Rooter was able to get someone out within hours to assist. From there the team was able to determine we didn't just have a simple blockage, we had a very large project that required excavating and repair work for an eroded and sunken pipe in our yard. Tony (field supervisor) was able to schedule a team for the following morning to come out and complete the work. The team consisted of Matt and Gino - both were very knowledgeable, walked us through each step of the large project and answered all of our questions. I have not always been overly pleased with large big-box names, but I would absolutely call Roto Rooter again.

Had great service from Technician, Yuri (Tech number #1195). He was prompt, thorough careful moving his equipment around and made sure to clean up any mess that was made. He was also very friendly and personable. His first visit to my home was to clear a blocked drain in my house. A few months later I had Yuri return for some preventative drain maintenance. This time he went over and above to do a complete job. I would highly recommend using Yuri for future needs.

Alex did an excellent job and was very informative. He explained everything very thoroughly, which you don't get out of most services all the time. We had a sewage back up and called Roto-Rooter for help. They were here with in the hour and the first technician #3963 Eraldi came and inspected the problem. He immediately assessed the problem and informed us of what was needed to be done. We agreed on the service and then another technician, #4322 Mark came and was able to give us a picture of what our pipes looked like. It was amazing how quickly they came and resolved our problem. Then a third #3668 Benjamin came and told us that they can help with the clean up. Of course everything comes with a price but I did not have to figure out the steps to take of cleaning and sanitizing everything. It was a no brainier and they, Roto-Rooter team ,made it all possible. Plus there is a 6 month warranty that if it were to happen again we would be covered. They were great!!! They were extreme professional! Not once was I not aware of what was being done.Thank you !!

Honestly, stay away if you want to actually have the problem corrected. I had them come out and was charged $750 to unclog a drain. The only issue is that they just pushed the problem to the end of the pit and never actually checked to see if the pit was cleared. I had to hire another company to come out to unclog the drain and rearrange the pipe that was blocking the drain. If they would have done the job correctly, they would have seen this. I will never use them again. Oh, and be prepared to be charged an arm and a leg for parts. For two bolts and a new wax ring I was changed $60. The place is a rip off and their management isn't any better.

Gio was my tech today and he was very polite and knowledge about my situation. He handled it like a pro. My problem was the pricing. I was quoted $299.00 during my free estimate. But my receipt says $550.00 minus the lump sum discount. So how much does it really cost. I feel like they set their own prices when it comes to the customers. Not sure I would recommend them to my neighbors and friends because I wouldn't want them to get ripped off.

I'm in a 1 bdrm 1 bath house and every time we get rain/snow my toilet backs up into my bathtub making both unusable. We had a tech come to our home to do a camera scope of our lines to see how bad the tree root damage was. The damage is really extensive to our dismay. Despite this, the tech was completely professional, kind, and respectful. There wasn't any sort of mess left behind (he had to scope through the toilet by removing it) and also pointed out when removing the toilet the company we had out the day before didn't completely tighten the toilet when they put it back on. I couldn't be happier with my service.

I was expecting a large upfront cost and taking a long time to get out to me because it was a Sunday, but the cost was reasonable and they were out within 2 hours. No pressure situation where the rep gave me the quote and didn't try to pressure with doom and gloom if I did not get it resolved immediately. We owned the house for one month and of course it decides to backup on Thanksgiving. After trying all night on my own I called on Friday and Joe the tech was very helpful at identifying potential future problems and the likely cause of our blockage after the Thanksgiving holiday. From first phone call to cleared line was about 4 hours, and we received text messages with updates until Joe arrived. The cost of service was steep ($400+) but the 6mo. warranty is helpful and the food drive RotoRooter is doing helped us save a few dollars. It was unfortunate that the tech busted our sink basin in the process of disconnecting and reconnecting the trap and I was responsible for the cost and time of replacing it, but the drains are cleared and for that we are grateful.

Hot water heater went out and we called Roto-Rooter Plumbing. They dispatched a technician to our home and he was at our door in 45 minutes, during rush hour I might add. He was professional and courteous of our home and even covered his shoes to not track in any dirt from outside. We ended up needing a new water heater which was installed same day. I had RotoRooter service my home sewer drain blockage about 4 years ago with very good dedicated service. On October 27, 2019, around 7.30PM, I had discovered a blocked toilet drain pipe draining into my septic tanks. Called RotoRooter for service. The customer service lady was kind and said that a service person would be at my location with in 4 hours. A service person tech #2658 Mr Andrew, called me in less than 20 minutes and arrived within the next half hour,Wow!! He was very polite, efficient , inspected the pipes, explained the charges and warranty very well. It was dark and cold, he carefully accessed the out door located access pipe to the septic tanks, carefully inserted the Rotorooter device and dislodged the obstruction, made sure the blockage was fully resolved; cleaned up the area thoroughly. Was careful, considerate and explained the procedure patiently, finished the job to my satisfaction. I was impressed with speed and the thoroughness of the service. Easy phone call and appointment set up. Someone was out to unclog our toilet in about 2 hours, same day service is always a plus when it comes to plumbing! Service man was pleasant, wore his mask and unclogged the toilet! No complaints! Wasn't cheap, but its a gross job, so...

We had a backed up main due to mainly some roots that were stuck in our main. We had a total of four people come out including the same camera man who came out twice. After the first Plumber left, the Camera man, first time around told us we would be good for approx a month and that we were going to need a clean out. I agree that a clean out would facilitate the process however we didn't believe that was the only solution. The water came up again that same night, we called again and a second person came out the next day, after a couple of hours and our new floor scratched by Roto Rooter (two days after installment) as there working space wasn't covered, we were upset. We were upset at the fact that we were paying for a service that was not well done. Granted this was not the first time we have had someone come out and snake our main so we have seen this before. (Approx once a year past couple of years). The camera man came out the second time and tried telling us it was now blocked since he couldn't get the camera through and we were now dealing with blockage. What?! We were so confused as the first time around they were able to get through (and I have the recording because I wanted to show it to my spouse). The camera went through the first time and the second time around it wasn't going through and somehow they were trying to tell us we had a blockage or something wrong with our pipes and the best solution was a 6000+ clean out! The camera man was trying to tell us that the clean out was recommended and another person snaking the pipe wasn't going to help.The Camera man was incorrect and after the experience we had, we were going to leave the minimum number of stars however the last and final person that came out was a professional and we appreciate his hard work and he (#2029 Patricio) should receive 5 stars, even though we are only leaving 2 for the entire experience.

Cy (Tech #9823) was great! I would give him more stars if I could. He did quality work, was clean, thorough and efficient. He even provided supplies on the spot from his truck that prevented back and forth trips to the store. He also identified other problems and repaired them so I didn’t have to reschedule any follow up appointments. Although the cost of repairs was more than I expected, it was worth it. You pay for what you get. I will definitely use Roto Rooter again and recommend Cy.

Andrew at Roto-Rooter was extremely professional. He explained what he was doing and WHY he was doing it - every step along the way. I appreciated the explanations because it gave me confidence. When it comes to plumbing, I'm always concerned about paying too much or paying but not having the job done carefully or correctly. I am sure they are not the cheapest but they have the company reputation behind them and I felt like Andrew went above and beyond to make sure the clog was fixed. I filled out an appointment form online Sunday night 11:45 pm and I got an appointment confirmation email within 30 minutes for an appointment the very next morning for 8am. The plumber Felipe was great. On time, helpful professional. He did his best to keep the rest of the house clean. Very Polite. They had a pipe camera and showed me exactly what the problem was. I was VERY happy with the service. But wow their labor charges are high. You get what you pay for though. The plumber even helped me clean up some of the backed up sewage in my shower.

Armion, #601 came out this Saturday morning to fix my toilet. When he could not stop the leak with new parts, we discussed a whole new toilet with full warranty. I agreed. He picked up and installed a very nice American Standard one. It looks and works great. He was very helpful in explaining and showing me everything. He was very clean in his work. I recommend him highly.

We had plumbing service done earlier this month and two weeks later the same issue occurred. We called and advised the situation and sent a plumber out to use within a few hours. Gabriel was very nice, attended our situation quickly, he explained step by step what he was going to do and what are the knew steps to take. if i could leave negative stars, i would. the short version is this: i scheduled an appt for an estimate on a new outside faucet installation. i asked if their quote was acceptable, when could the work begin. was told same day. RR gave me a 4-hour window. serviceman showed up 2.5 hrs after the window ended. when he showed, he didn't come prepared to do any work. after looking at my setup in the basement for about 10 seconds, he said a thousand dollars. say what? i had already researched and thought somewhere in the range of 200-500 would be acceptable. asked if he could give breakdown of parts and labor. he wrote up invoice without breakdown and said this is the price. called 2 other local plumbers, one quoted 180 and the other 325. will never call RR again. total price gouge and unprofessional.

Ali the gentleman that serviced me today showed a lot of empathy and compassion toward my ordeal. When he first came in he immediately asked how my family was doing. Then he asked me to tell him the problem; and show him the damage that incurred from the problem. We immediately went upstairs to the bathroom to check for possible damage to the toilet that could have caused water damage to the ceiling. He looked at the situation; and told me what was the cause of leakage. He not only made sure that the situation was taking care. He explained why it happened. But, told me how to possibly prevent this from happening again. We went down stairs and looked at the ceiling. He even told me the best way to repair it. Last thing he did for me was break down why I was not getting hot water in my downstairs bathroom. I’m not a handy man. But, he broke it down so well. I believe I can do it myself. He offered to do the service. But, at the current time I’m going to wait on that project. I would recommend him for his honesty, empathy and knowledge of his profession.

Although more expensive than other options, I am very happy with my selection of Roto-Rooter. Our technician, Felipe (3033) was very friendly and informative! He spent time explaining what caused the backup and how future backups can be prevented. He was very respectful of my home and cleaned up the area in which he was working after he was done. We had a mainline sewage clog at midnight and Rotor-Rooter was able to come out 8am the next day. Our technician Reise (1877) was professional and personable. He made sure to not track in any dirt while bringing in all the tools. They were done in about an hour or two and showed me video of my pipe to see how the clog was cleaned out and where there were roots in my line. If I have any future problems, I will definitely reach out again.

We called Roto-Rooter to address a kitchen drain that was backing up. It was late on Friday evening and we were told they could send a technician out that night. As the evening progressed, they called to let us know they were having difficulties getting someone out, as requested. They offered to make us a priority client for the first Saturday morning call. That wasn't a problem for us as the back up wasn't causing water to escape. We thought is was great that the service team provided timely updates on the status of a technician without a prompt from us. Great communication by the call center team!Early the next morning, Tim called and said he was on the way. He arrived timely and was very friendly. Jason 1491 and Joe 1071 were excellent technicians. Joe came out to clean a clog in the main sewer line. We found out the outside line was broken. He did an excellent job of explaining all options and sent out a supervisor to get us set up to get it fixed. Jason showed up the next day 8am and explained what he was going to do and what the possible outcomes were. I was informed every step of the way. The greatest part is they quote worst case scenario so our final price was lower. At a time when your stressed they give you ease and honesty. Highly recommended!

I was a bit nervous when my fiancee called Roto rooters for our kitchen sink and dishwasher backup because i had never heard of them. However i was pleasantly surprised when the man that came was professional and friendly. He made sure to put shoe covers on his shoes and the wheels of the dolly, which i appreciated with there being so much snow outside. He was here for about an hour and fixed it! I was a satisfied customer with the exception to the price, I just thought it was a little steep, however i have nothing to compare it to because i dont know how much other plumbers would charge for a similar job. That is the only reason I give four stars!

When I was able to get a plumber technician out to my house after waiting for two days, I was satisfied with the service from the technician. He installed my brand new toilet in a very time efficient and generous with the price quote. I call Rotor-Rooter on a frigid Sunday morning to ask if a plumber could come out on this day for plumbing help. From the beginning, my experience was outstanding. The person on phone was kind and, thankfully, said she could have a plumber at my house that morning. With a few hours, I got both a call and text from RR that Steve (5225), the plumber, was coming. Once at my house, Steve reviewed the issue, was clear in the ways and costs to fix it, and proceeded with the option I selected. He worked efficiently and kept the area very clean. When done, Steve tested the equipment several times to confirm fixed and made sure I was satisfied. I will totally use Roto Rooter again and think Steve was awesome!

Technician Ali was very professional and looked at what we told him that was going on with our plumbing. He looked at it and asked if we had a septic tank or was it a mechanical system. We stated it was a septic tank he asked if he could look at it and when he looked at it said it was a tank issue, and not a plumbing issue. I said ok and he was very helpful and courteous. I would use or call and recommend your service and I would recommend Ali as my technician.

We recently had some water backing up in our basement and couldn't fix the problem ourselves. We called Roto-Rooter, and within hours they were on the job. We lucked out, because we got an amazing technician, Jay Thurman #1057. He not only did the job well, but his personality and attention to detail made it an enjoyable experience. Jay did excellent work and gave us the piece of mind we needed.

The repair tech was on time. Explained the problem with my toilet and showed me the broken parts that had to be replaced. Took pictures and and part numbers. Purchased parts and returned. Cleaned the area. It was costly but worth it. I would highly recommend RR and the tech Heto and would certainly use them again if needed. Job well done.

I called Roto-Rooter for emergency plumbing services after a week long fiasco of our tub/shower not draining. The maintenance team in our building was not able to fix the issue in the week prior and it was becoming progressively worse over time. Roto-Rooter sent Harold (#2004) over the same day that I called and he fixed the issue in just over an hour. He tried multiple techniques to attempt to save us some money and was able to rod the drain very efficiently without much of a mess. I would recommend their services because they resolve the issues quickly, but also advise that customers are aware that they can be a little pricey.

We had Gabriel install a new sump pump for us. He was EXCELLENT! We couldn't have asked for better service. He was very knowledgeable and very patient in that my wife and I were asking lots of questions and deciding how to proceed on the spot. We were having some appliances installed and noticed we couldn't do it due to water valve issues. Peter was our tech and did an outstanding job. Not only did he fix all of our water valve issues, he also noticed we had a leak in our hot water tank. Needless to say, a simple fix turned into an 8 hour project. He really took his time to make sure not only the issues were fixed, but that they never occurred again. We now have a piece of mind knowing our basement is secure from any water damage. I have used Roto-Rooter in the past and never had any issues. I typically call every 2-3 years for the same floor drain to be cleaned out.So once again Roto-rooter rep came in did the work and was great. Have no issues with worker and would appreciate working with him again. Very knowledgeable and helpful.However, all this is not worth the cost today. The guy was here about 30 minutes and cleaned one floor drain for 400, and he only went 45 feet into the drain. I needed it to be done so I paidAll works great, but will never again pay 400 to clean one drain for 45 minutes. If not for the driver and his work, I would give one star. Should have read more reviews and considered other options.

I was having a family party on a Saturday, and my son discovered water in my basement moments before everyone was to arrive. He immediately called Roto-Rooter as we had them out a year prior. The guys arrived within the time frame they stated. They were coming from Wisconsin, and actually made good time. Sergio Tech#3215 was very courteous, they were clean, and he did a great job. He kept my son and I up to date on what they found and was very thorough about what they were doing. I would not hesitate to call them again. The other family members were also impressed.

I called Roto Rooter (RR) on 9-5-18 regarding a plumbing issue for my parents. I scheduled an appointment for the next day because that was the earliest available. RR called 30 minutes before the appointment time and provided an estimate on when they would arrive. Herman was our repairman. He walked in and immediately put on his shoe protectors. I took him to the basement laundry room (the problem area) and he quickly assessed what the problem was and how he could fix it. He told me the price and I agreed for him to do the work. Throughout the process, he kept me up-to-date on how things were going and even let me see for myself. His supervisor even dropped by to review the work. When the work was done, Herman updated me on how things went and gave me some tips for maintenance. He cleaned up the areas where he worked and thanked me for allowing him to service our plumbing issue. I had a great experience with Herman and Roto Rooter. I will most definitely call them again and request Herman for a future plumbing issue.

David came over very promptly at the scheduled time. He was in and out very quickly and is very nice. I had mentioned that my wife was still sleeping and that she would wake up soon but he went above and beyond to be as quiet as possible. To my surprise she slept through the procedure. He got the sink unclogged and back up and running in less than 45 minutes. I was extremely pleased with his performance.

The price was a bit high, but they came out promptly within hours of my call and they did a great job. I've rented a rooter from Home Depot in the past and I knew what the job entailed. I was able to root out to the street, but was having trouble getting back under my house, which is where the problem was this time. We had Sergio #3215 he was awesome. came in was very professional, spoke to me with all the information I needed to know. was very knowledgeable and helpful. for the work we got done and the fact that it's guaranteed for 6 months is just awesome. I would say if you need to use a plumber this is your company. especially since they specify on plumbing alone, where other companies dip their feet in too many things.

Great responsiveness! With the recent flood, my water heater gave out. Before anyone was sent I was assured their tech would come properly prepared for the world of Covid protections. Glad for that! We had to have Rotor Rooter come out a second time 30 days after the first. I have to say that our technician who is #2833 was so great. He did other things that the other technician didn't try and explained to us why this was happening and what we could do to try and avoid this problem in the future. We had some issues with our main sewer line being blocked by tree roots. It was a late Sunday evening and our technician Kyle arrived and was ready to help fix the issue. He was very thorough and detailed on what he was planning to do. He brought his equipment in and worked to get the job complete. Robert did a great job and was friendly. Our kitchen sink was clogged and within 20 mins he fixed the issue. The women who answered the phone to take my appointment was very nice as well. I have only one bathroom in my apartment and a clogged toilet. I tried everything the internet recommends—hot water, plunger, baking soda and vinegar, I even bought an auger—and nothing worked. I was in a time crunch as I was going out of town for the weekend and didn’t want to risk things getting worse after I left. I had two different companies cancel appointments on me. Then I was able to easily schedule a last minute early evening appointment online with RR. My service was quick and easy and my technician was extremely kind! My only complaint is that the cost was quite pricey for the job I had done, even with a coupon I found online. But if you can afford it, I definitely would recommend using RR for your service!

Highly recommend using Roto-Rooter! We had a fairly simple repair for our toilet, but it was hard to have it serviced during the weekend using other companies. The set-up process was very simple, and I appreciated the one hour courtesy call before the tech arrived. Our tech, Kemal, was very kind and professional, and made sure we were 100% satisfied with the repair. We will definitely be using Roto-Rooter again for future repairs.

Our main sewer line backed up on us around 7pm last night. I called Roto Rooter around 7:30pm and we had a plumber out to our house by 9:30pm. We really liked the Tech, Harold 2004, so far we think our water heater install he did was a good job. However, we were told over the phone by the lady who set up the appointment, that water clean up was a part of the service. Harold did not get the water up, he stated he would need to call a Supervisor for permission to do so. My Home was left wet and messy for us to clean up.The bad part about your company is:The service/labor charge is extremely too high to NOT have the water mess cleanup as a part of the service call!

I called them and asked about fixing a shower pan in my bathroom. They confirmed on the phone that someone would come and inspect it, got a call from a sales rep saying they could do it, then was called 20 minutes after by someone else saying they couldn't do it. They were quick to announce their $65 service fee, but couldn't remember what services they provided. They just said yes.

Our plumber, Nail, was helpful in explaining why our sewer backed up and what we might do to prevent it in the future. Kelly 2771 was professional and explain to me the issue and solutions that he would take to correct it. I need to have a fixture installed. A length of pipe replace, a leak need to be cap. And lastly, have work done underneath the bathroom sink. I was quite surprised when said that he would be able to every in a couple of hours. He showed a great level of dedicated to his work. Our kitchen sink clog ended up being worse than we’d thought and he had to tap into our building main drain line to snake whatever was causing the issue. The technician Chris called to let me know when he would arrive, and he was right on time and got right to work. He was able to get the problem resolved and cleaned up the mess. Excellent service with a polite and technically knowledgeable repairman (Timothy #5394). Only complaint was the cost of repair which is high compared to competitors: total actual work time was about 20 minutes, total visit was 1 hour, and cost was $420 to unclog a kitchen sink...cost per hour seems high (I understand this price covers the cost of free estimates and the warranty but still).

I had backed up storm drain. This was my first experience with Roto Rooter, the initial communication was a bit of a challenge, as I had to chat with 3 different folks, including one plumber, and scheduling the visit was a bit disorganized, but Eugene showed up, knew what he was doing and did a great job, all the while describing what he was doing and how the storm drain system works underneath my home. Great job in the end. Eugene should be commended. Pricey, but great job.

We had a difficult clog badly located under our 130 year old house that required urgent attention. We, by the way, had a significant sewer line issue some 10 months as well. To make a long story short like the first time we called Roto-Rooter we were extremely pleased with the quality and professionalism of their service. They, on the phone, were extremely courteous, the two technicians who came were extremely knowledgeable and particular kudos to Spiro (Tech # 3104) who worked extremely hard and diligently until the very thorny problem got totally resolved. Because of the age of this house it was not an easy clog to remove, it required entry into the line at both end and Spiro only left when he was 100% concerned and satisfied that the pipes were cleaned perfectly.

Called up Roto-Rooter with a clogged sewer pipe on a Sunday and they scheduled a service call to come out as we were told. The service man was very nice and explained everything to us and how he would unclog the pipe. The tree in our front yard and bushes next to the house were the culprit. Took him 2hrs to get it and the entire system flushed down into the sewer!! The supervisor came out with the video inspection and ran it from the house to city sewer line and found a couple of cracks and provided a repair estimate. I think Roto Rooter is probably more expensive than other services. I’ve used them twice now. I always feel pretty confident when they leave. I watched them scope the entire drain from basement to curb which is reassuring. They are professional and very prompt. They tried up selling me both times at the end but weren’t high pressure. They use a full 6 inch blade to cut through to the curb which really clears the pipes. They are a big company with a good reputation so i feel good about them standing behind their work. I would recommend them for Roto Rooter work and I’d consider them for bigger jobs if needed.

Rotorooter was extremely helpful. Leonard #1479 was able to identify the many problems that were causing plumbing clog as well as additional problems that if not fixed would cause issues down the road. He worked hard to fix these items and went the extra mile to uninstall and install the door on the bathroom so he could get the equipment in and out without damaging things. I will always call Rotorooter when I have a problem from now on.

I want to be sure to differentiate the repairman (5 stars) from the company’s service as a whole (2 stars).Harold (#2004) was great. He was knowledgeable, fast and friendly. I’d gladly recommend him anytime.The customer service, however, was neither customer- or service-oriented. The original service window I was given was 8am-1pm. I received a call at 10:30 telling me service was delayed and there was no timeframe for the technician’s arrival. The next update I received was 1:30, well after the already generous 5-hour window, to tell me they hadn’t forgotten my appointment but there was still no timeline - just hang on and be patient. Then silence until 3:30, when I received a call from a manager (Jeremy, I believe) who gave me a similar version of the same narrative. Before we hung up, he promised to find a resolution and call me back (he didn’t). In the end, the repairperson arrived at 5:30, completely unaware of any of my back and forth with customer service. He hadn’t even begun his shift until 1, when my original window was already over.Here’s what I find really egregious though. The customer service representative had offered me 10% discount for my patience, but failed to tell the repairperson. When I told him about the discount, he informed me that the 10% she promised didn’t come from the company’s bottom line, but his. So essentially the most reliable part of the entire experience was punished for the incompetence of the management.I’ve used Roto Rooter exclusively for the last 4 years, but this experience lost my business.

Our building had a burst pipe on the coldest day of the year and Roto-Rooter had Mike (2080) out within a couple of hours to fix the pipe and restore our service - a miracle as most other companies weren't working due to the temperature. He was super knowledgeable, worked quickly to fix the problem and get our water turned back on before we saw any more frozen pipes, and let us know what we could do to keep it from happening again. Thomas Allen (#5394) came out to my new home after a heavy rain brought in some unexpected water. He immediately gave me a sense of calm about the situation and let me know it wasn’t as bad as I thought. He was able to easily pinpoint the issue and told me two things that I needed to do in order to correct the issue. Although Roto Rooter doesn’t do that service, he still went out of his way to let me know what to do next. Additionally, he smelled some gas in my utility room and cautioned me to reach out to People’s Gas and have them come out and check the house as well. Overall, I was very impressed with his professional and knowledge of the issues facing my home. I’m sorry that he wasn’t able to complete any work for me so that I could pay him for his expertise. Gave an estimate for a 6 feet Pipe excavation and replacement but finally the work was done with less than 4 feet for excavation and pipe replacement.Since the final work was less than what was estimated, I have been repeatedly trying to get hold of Roto-Rooter to understand the cost breakdown as well as why we weren't getting a final price lower than the estimate.The person who came to oversee the change also agreed that the work done was not inline with the estimate and would get his manager to call back but I haven't received any communication though I have done multiple follow ups on this.Been over 2 months since the work has completed and with apparently no intention from Roto Rooter to address or even speak on this issue has made me rate them with a 1 star as a company to avoid for work that is going to be expensive.

I had a great experience using rooter rooter to fix my clogged kitchen sink. I called on Saturday and was offered an appointment time on that same day. The plumber who came to my residence took time to properly evaluate the plumbing in our home to make sure the rodding reached all possible areas where there could be buildup without damage. We now have a fast flowing sink and their work comes with a 6 month warranty!

Technician #2029, Patricio arrived just a couple minutes before his scheduled time. He quickly surveyed the issue and had the drain unclogged in no time. He did extend the power snake further into the drain to ensure the clog was removed completely. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service!

We called RotoRooter when our sewer line backed up into our basement. Our technician arrived within an hour and quickly fixed the problem. He was friendly and courteous. There was no additional charge to come at 8:30 at night, and I really appreciate how fast our problem was solved.

Outrageously expensive.Had to assist him.Had to provide paper towels and trash bag for clean up.He reinstalled toilet said I needed new water supply line old one leaked but did not have one on truck, told me to get one at home depot,after he left I just tightened the supply all the way ,no new line needed.Would never use again.Promptly after I wrote this review I was contacted by RR and was able to resolve my complaints with them.I must say this was not what I expected.RR is a stand up business and I would use again.

We had to replace our water heater. Kyle (3269) was so amazing to work with. He came in and took the time to see if there was a way to repair it first. It's Sunday and you know calling a plumber is going to be expensive but you have a backed up kitchen drain that you can't fix after trying everything. So I called Roto-Rooter plumbing. Eduardo was at my house right when they said he would be and I received a phone call from the dispatcher twice to let me know they were running behind and when Eduardo was on his way. Eduardo, technician number 5256, came in and assessed the problem within 5 minutes. My drain line from my kitchen sink to the main was packed with 15 years worth of garbage disposal waste. He told me he could resolve the problem and immediately told me how much it would cost. It was a reasonable amount, especially for a Sunday, and I proceeded with the work. Eduardo kept me informed on what was happening throughout the process. When he was under the kitchen sink rodding from the sink he noticed that my drain trap had a huge chunk missing from it and he said he had the part on his truck and replaced it as part of the job. Eduardo was a really nice guy. He was pleasant and polite from the moment he entered my home and he made sure he cleaned up after his work and was very respectful of my home. Thank you Eduardo for resolving a nasty problem and allowing us to continue to enjoy our Memorial day weekend. I will definitely use Roto-Rooter again and If possible, ask for Eduardo!

We had a plumbing emergency on Friday afternoon. The faucet part of our shower would not turn off and the water kept running. Not only was it a Friday afternoon but the beginning of the Christmas weekend. We started calling plumbing companies in the area. We were either told no one could come until the following day or the service charge was outrageous. We then called Roto-Rooter and the woman on the phone (Laura) could not have been more helpful. I asked about the service charge. She said, we don't charge you for the call. We will come out and evaluate the situation and let you know the cost. It was then up to us to decide if we wanted to proceed. A serviceman (Milenko) was at our house quickly. He was professional and courteous. He let us know what was needed to fix the problem and the cost. He did the work for a very reasonable price and had all the necessary parts. He was finished t in about an hour. We would highly recommend them.

My plumber, Andre #8971, was very friendly and informative. After examining at my toilet he gave me his opinion on what he believed it might be and the cost and then the approximate cost if it turned out to be something else. He explained that sometimes other problems may be found and that could also affect the cost, so knowing the price ranges I would be in made me more comfortable with giving him the go ahead to do the work.He found the problem which was close to what he suggested and the price was at the minimum price he gave me.I will most definitely use Roto-Rooter again and get this same plumber if at all possible.

My sump pump died. Tech came on time. Provided an estimate and proceeded to place order for parts. He came back about an hour later installed the new system and was done with the entire job in under 3 hours. He also provided other suggestions about modifications to my home's rain water drainage to help alleviate the issue occurring in the future. He was great.

Great service, Jair-5259 came to fix the clogged main line of my home. Roto- Rooter had a very fast response as I had called around midnight the night before and Jair was here by 8am first thing. He has very informative and most of all very professional. He not only unclogged our drain, but let us know how to keep it working well in the future (which I'm sure our downstairs neighbors will appreciate since the ancient drain trap filled their light fixture with tub water!). I especially appreciated Roto-Rooter coming out in zero degree temps to deal with our tub (less than 3 hours from initial call to fix) when the city is dealing with frozen pipes, etc.

This review is for Mike#2080 and his partner David.After the plumber for our management company failed to show up that day, we ended up bailing water from our sink and dishwasher that was backing up into our unit while begging our management company to send out an emergency plumber. Service was good but I had to call them to confirm after I made the appointment online. I recieved no call, text, or email. The price of $500 to clear one drain that took the tech around 20 minutes to clear is a bit much. I will not be calling for any future work.

My house did not have a washout outside so they had to route through my toilet; but they made sure to keep it as clean as possible and then sprayed down the whole bathroom afterwards. They stuck to their word as far as what they said they were going to do and gave me further options once they found out the root cause of the problem. The pricing was comparable to the other quotes that I received but I really liked 3 major things aside from Juan and Anthony's Service.1. They offer to come directly free of charge before offering a quote so that it is accurate and there are no surprises.2. The quote is all inclusive of routing and camera work if needed.3. The warranty their work for 6 months so if the problem arises before then they will come back out free of charge.Always rely on the big companies.They do it right and they have the right people for the job.

we had a sewer line back up in floor drains basement level every time we flushed toilet on upper levels. Mark was incredibly efficient and professional. We had a slow drain that turned out to be part of a much bigger problem. As a drain tech, Mark did everything he could to fix the problem in the interim--from snaking the drain, to removing and clearing the p-trap to leaving us with a chemical treatment at a discount. Then, he explained his theory of the larger issue, outlined a few other scenarios, and set us up with his colleague from another department to achieve a more permanent solution. Like some of you, perhaps, I remember the Roto-Rooter jingle on TV commercials from my childhood. I thought they handled only drain and sewer problems. I was wrong; they handle much more. Roto-Rooter provides full-service plumbing repair and water damage clean up, as well as sewer and drain service – for both residential and commercial customers.I am in the process of renovating my town home and needed to have a 25-year old washer/dryer combo unit removed from an unbelievably small and tight spot. The appliance company refused to take the machine away because the water valves that feed the washer were outdated and leaky. I reached out to a handyman friend who suggested I call Roto-Rooter. I made the call and they had a technician at my home in just over one hour. That is the fastest service call of any kind that I’ve ever had! There was no extra charge for the speedy service call.Armion (#601), a 20+ year plumbing expert was very professional, friendly, provided me with a written estimate and was prepared to do the job on the spot! He clearly explained everything in advance and then confirmed with me every step of the way. He was equipped and able to handle anything! I felt confident the work would be done correctly the first time.The job required a portion of dry wall be cut away to get to the old valves and then the new pipes had to be soldered in place. Worst service I have ever experienced and total lack of professionalism. I contacted them on Saturday, explained exactly what the problem was (3 floor building needed the AC pipe to be power flushed because it was backing up into my unit). I received a block of time for Monday of 9-1. Was called at 11 am and told the plumber was running late. By 2 no plumber. I contacted dispatch who could not tell me what time he would arrive. 45 minutes he shows up. He took a 1 minute look at my utility closet and pipe and says, I don't have the equipment to do this despite the fact I called Saturday with a detailed explanation of what needed done. He tells me he is going to his car to call his manager. 35 minutes later I contact dispatch again, man has not returned. I am told he has left and told dispatch someone will return tomorrow. I took off an entire day of work to wait for him, he spent 1 minute in my unit, did not come prepared, left without informing me, and the problem persisted. I asked to speak to a manager, who advised he would be contacting the repairman's manager and would call me back. 45 minutes later no call from the manager. I call again and speak to a supervisor after filing a complaint. She says she will speak to the manager. I tell her that the prior manager indicated the repairman is supposed to return tomorrow, and she says she has no notes that say this and no idea where that information has come from. total lack of internal communications. 2 days later I have HEARD NOTHING about my complaint. I wasted a personal day for nothing. NEVER EVER would I recommend this provider. Yesterday I get a call from dispatch, do I want to reschedule? No mention of my complaint, no mention of the issue. I told her absolutely not, they would not get a single dollar from me.

We had some back-up issues with our sewer line from the house to the city sewer. Tim (#2508) and Mark came out and performed a video inspection and rodded as best as they could with the mechanical rod. They cleared the jam, but due to the size of the root they recommended using a water jet once the weather warmed up to fully remove the blockage.Service was quick and helpful. Would recommend.

Having just finished my basement, discovering that my main sump pump had died in the evening after most places have closed was very stressful. Though it may not have been a true emergency, Roto-Rooter had a plumber to my door within 90 minutes at 10:00 pm when other plumbers were not able to come out until the following afternoon. Got my Sump pump replaces by Pat (#1899) He did a great job explaining the process and what was needed to be done to get the problem resolved. They were extremely quick. Here with in 30 minutes of my realizing that by basement was flooded. Because of their quick response I was able to contain the water to a very small area so no damage was done. I thought for the actual work done the price was a bit steep, but Pat gave me some nice discounts to make it work my while.

The service technician, Steve (#8225) was friendly and efficient. He clearly explained what needed to be done and offered a reasonable price. We're a six-unit three story 100 year old building with two sewer lines and three exterior drains to service. All had to be cleared 100+ feet out to the main sewer line under the street at the front of the building. We had problems with one of the sewer lines a few years ago backing up so this was for recommended periodic maintenance. The sewer lines were fairly straightforward and done easily; however, two of the exterior drains were clogged with dirt. Steve took the time and effort to get them properly cleared out. I'd definitely use Roto-Rooter again and request Steve if possible.

I called Roto Rooter after flushing my wedding ring down the toilet. I was traumatized by the event itself and the following didn't help. I first spoke to Nate who was very polite and said that they could help. He said that a Camara Tech would have to be dispatched and someone would get back to me. I called again after an hour and a half of no contact. I spoke to Brian who, after realizing where I live (south side of Chicago), said very rudely that the cost for the Camara Tech would be $500 and they probably wouldn't find it. I am still not sure if his words/rude tone were due to my race (African American) or his perceived notion of my income. Nonetheless I still wanted someone to come out. The next person that I spoke to gave me a 4 hour window in which someone would come. 17 hours later of waiting, I called again. Julie, like Brian, rudely told me of the cost. After asking why it appeared that they did not want to service me, she said that she had a tech in my area in 30 minutes and that person would contact me. 3 hours later, she called to say that she had a tech in the area in an hour and I would be first. When I reminded her that she said the same thing earlier, she dryly said that she was sorry.I would suggest using Almighty Rooter. They were responsive and informative. Called for pricing, very friendly on the phone, actually treat you like a valued customer. Set up a free estimate. Tech showed up pretty much within described window. Tech was informative and polite, again I could tell this company actually cares about their customers. Tech was adamant about getting the job done right. Prices were a little steep, but the tech's confidence helped me make the call to let them do the work. Tech was knowledgeable and got the job done professionally and quickly. Again, job was $$$$ but for the peace of mind, was worth it. Would have been 5 stars with a cheaper bill.

After another company was not able to clear our mainline outside, RR sent out Mark #2840 (thinking it was an indoor clog), then Ray #3980 came within the hour and he was able to get it open after persisting for nearly 2 hours. Tenant's toilet was slow to drain...called Roto-Rooter and Kelly came out the next day! I was notified an hour before he arrived; he was right on time. After a few minutes, he accessed what needed to be replaced, and within 15 minutes he was done. Very nice young man. Will not hesitate to call with any other repairs.

Found out my Sump Pump died at 11am on a Sunday... Has a technician out by 3pm! No extra cost for weekend service. My guy, Cy, was professional, clean, knowledgeable, and friendly! 5 Stars hands down. Checked the pump to see if it could be fixed, but unfortunately it was buster. Had a replacement in his Van, and installed it in 15 minutes. Great work.. he even work shoe covers so he didn't dirty anything, and threw away the old pump. I will request this guy for my next service. My ONLY problem, was that it was pricey ($220 pump, $540 labor), but he showed me the price breakdown and it looked like it was a set price for the job, so even though it sucks paying that much, that is just the going rate if you don't want to DIY. Overall, I would totally recommend this company, and even more, Cy, to friends for their plumping needs.

When the tech arrived I was shocked at the price list, but didn't want to take the risk of calling someone else and going through the hassle to find out that prices are competitive. Bruce, the plumber was fast, and effective. He was courteous with me and my questions. He unclogged my drain and did a great job. I was pleased and wouldn't hesitate to call them again!

Had an excellent experience today getting a leak from my kitchen faucet fixed. Pat #1899 and his associate were able to identify the source of the leak under the sink, which was coming from the hose and not from the pipe coming out of the wall. I really appreciate his help with this because we thought this was going to be a really big repair after seeing all of water that was under sink. If you call Roro-Rooter, which I recommend ask for Pat, he'll get you squared away.

My husband and I are very pleased with the service we received. Our service was scheduled for noon to 4 pm yesterday. I received a phone call at 11:20 am. Our technician was running ahead of schedule and I was asked if it would be ok if he arrived in 20-30 minutes. I was thrilled I hate wasting all day waiting for repair people to arrive. When Joe arrived at my home, I explained the problem and my concerns. He quickly determined what was needed. While the job was more involved and therefore more expensive than I had hoped, he did a great job and I feel confident the problem has been fixed.

Had used them in the past for water in the basement after a severe rain storm. Unfortunately it happened again. Still had great service. Dan, ID #4709, was the tech this time. He did a great job, showed patience with my questions and explanations of what happened. In no time, the water swooshed out and everything was good. I've added a yearly notification to get yearly maintenance for next year. I will definitely ask for Dan again.

I called Roto-Rooter for a clogged floor drain in my basement. They were able to send out 2 guys the same day, Manny and Robert. Both were amazing. Every step of the way they kept me well informed of what was going on. There was some very major root blockage in my home drain leading to the city pipe, which they were able to chew through with a bladed line. I was very happy to see a video feed of the my line, once they cleared it out. They discussed all options with me for further maintenance. Very professional and polite! I highly recommend!

I had a blockage in my bathtub drain, called roto-rooter at 11pm and was able to set something up for the following morning. Nail #249 arrived very quickly after I received the call that someone would be heading over. He was respectful and worked quickly to clear the blockage and restore the tub to working order. Everything went well and I have no complaints.

I called them for a leak and they responded right away. They went over everything that needed to be done. Also they showed me what the problem was and had all the supplies on hand to fix the issue. My tech was Cy - 9823. He was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Will definitely call for his service again. But hopefully I don't have anymore problems.

We found out we have a broken drain pipe in our main sewer line. We got on the schedule for the excavation/repair faster than I thought would be possible. I was told that when immediate repairs are needed you get put at the front of the line. That was so reassuring to hear. We had emailed the 24 hour service line when we realized we had a total blockage somewhere and was set for an appointment the next day. Field Supervisor Silvano Hernandez was incredibly professional as he routed out the line and showed me on the camera where the broken area is.He answered every question I could think of.We've used Roto-Rooter twice before and know that the repair will be done well. We had a leaking toilet on our second floor which was leaking into the kitchen ceiling below. We had Matt, technician #1553, come out and he did a great job assessing the issue and making recommendations. He was able to repair the toilet in about 30 minutes. The only reason I took off a star was because of the cost. But I suppose, you get what you pay for which is prompt, quality service.

Pat from Roto-Rooter was amazing. Our pipe burst in the kitchen and a previous plumbing company suggested they break through our kitchen sink cabinet and countertop to access the access the wall to get to the pipe. We are so glad we waited for Pat from Roto-Rooter to get a second opinion. He was able to get to the pipe by making a small cut in the cabinet and pipe the burst pipe. He saved a lot money and time by not breaking our cabinets and countertop.I was also very impressed with Gary from the Roto-Rooter Restoration team, who followed up after Pat and went over the entire process of what will happen next. He assured me that he will work with my insurance company and make sure all water damage areas will be properly fixed.Not only did they show up the very next day when I really needed them, but they made it very comforting during a very stressful time for my family. I definitely will use Roto-Rooter for all my plumbing needs going forward.

I can't say enough positive things about my Roto Rooter service. We had a clogged pipe leading from the kitchen sinks (we own a 3-flat, so there are three of them plus dishwashers) to the catch basin in the back yard. The technician Mike (tech #4305) came out on time as scheduled, listened carefully to my concerns and then began a thorough assessment of our 100 year-old building and its history before determining what to do. I was quoted a price for not only cleaning out that clog, but also cleaning the main pipe that takes all the building's waste to the city's sewer line. The total job proved somewhat difficult and took longer than anticipated, but the final price held to the quote. Not only that, but I was give advice as to what to do in the future to avoid problems. Very happy with my Chicago Roto Rooter service!

Phone agent was very professional. Service Rep Jeff (4164) was here before I even finished mopping up the water on the floor! He found the cause of the clogged commode and (a fork!) and was able to remove it. Andrew #2658 literally saved our Christmas. Our drain pipe in our laundry room started backing up water as we started to prep for family for the holidays. He was at our house within an hour and a half of us calling Roto-Rooter. Andrew took the time to explain to us what he was going to do, and how he thought he would be able to solve the issue. When a second tech needed to be called in he again explained everything, what that person would be doing, and assured us he is continuing to work to resolve the issue. Mind you all this after hours on the night before Christmas Eve. We went from sewer water backing up and not being able to flush our toilets to him remedying the issue enough to the drains flow and we didn't have to call off our family dinner. My family can not express enough how much we appreciated Andrew and his hard work.

Mark allowed me to watch (look over his shoulder, literally), and ask as many questions as I wanted; believe me, there were lot of concerns but he was patient and helped me to understand the over-looked blockages that were not unblocked just a few days prior. I have to say Mark was even more thorough and detailed oriented than Mike (the first tech RR sent to my home) was. I guess, I will have to see whether or not this fix will be successful but as far as I can tell, Mark has completely unblocked the pipes, and the water is flowing again without backing up into my kitchen sink or basement flow. Please apply his courtesy and superb skills to this review. I have learned quite a lot from him and commend him for his efforts and would definitely recommend him to my family and friends by his name and tech number.This time, for a certainty, I thank RR for sending someone who actually knows how to tackle the blockage problems of build-up soap/crumb. late- 2 hours outside their service call window and they didn't keep me informed about the delay (I had to call them).$300 to repair a valve (not even replace the value) 8 minutes of work.Way too expensive for an 8 minute repair.I had a leaky shut off valve for my washer. Since I don't have a water meter, I thought the water would need to be shut off at the street. I also thought that the valve may need to be replaced. He did estimate the job at $300, saying he may have to shut it off at the street and replace the valve. BUT, when it was a VERY fast repair the price did not change.I understand a plumber is expensive. I would have expected a trip charge (maybe $75) and a repair charge for 8 minutes ( maybe another $75).

This was my first time using Roto-Rooter and it was a great experience. Slow draining toilets ended up being a broken sewer line to the street. It certainly was not something I had expected but the professionals at Roto-Rooter showed me exactly what was wrong and brought in a crew to excavate and fix the problem. Jon(#2903) and Rudy(#1918) did a great job, fixed the problem as if they were doing the work on their own homes. I definitely would recommend these guys for your plumbing needs.

I was able to select the window of time that worked best for me and even got a call shortly after saying that someone could be available sooner if the situation required faster service. Milenko is the absolute best! I am floored by the service he provided. He was very professional and I think went above and beyond the job to help me out. I had a huge backup into my basement from tree roots getting into my pipes. I called several different plumbers and most didn't even answer the phone. After I called Roto Rooter there were at my house in under twenty minutes. It was quite impressive! The technician was very helpful and explained everything, even finding a clean out I didn't even know I had. He routed out my whole pipe system and his supervisor stopped by to see how it was going and scopes my pipes to see what was actually down there. Overall I was very impressed and would highly recommend these guys!

Had a very positive experience yesterday with Roto-Rooter. The professional, Robert, was here within 3 hours after a non-emergency call. He persisted and successfully completed a very challenging floor drain cleaning. I was thoroughly satisfied with the work done and no longer have to worry about standing water in the basement.

We called RotoRooter when we found water on our basement floor. It turns out we had what we discovered was a failing ejector pump. The team of plumbers who arrived on Saturday night at 6pm (earlier than the originally quoted 9-11pm window) diagnosed the problem, but weren't licensed to replace the pump. They scheduled an appointment for me the following day. That night, a supervisor called to say he could come out if we needed him to immediately, but we said we'd wait until the following day because fortunately we had other facilities we could use. The plumber who arrived addressed the issue efficiently. All the people we interacted with were polite and courteous in dealing with the problem. With this kind of thing, it's hard to compare prices since you're in a bind and need to have the work done by the first person who comes out, but we appreciated that the initial appointment on Saturday night was free of charge since they couldn't fix the problem. The labor cost sounded steep on the return visit, but it's a yucky job so it's probably to be expected.

Showed up on time, cleaned out the line from the street to the house, & kept me informed during the process. Very helpful, though pricey.

Plumber Pat (#1899) and the field supervisor Ben kept us well informed about the project, explaining what went wrong, what our options are and how to work with our insurance. It was a great relief as first time home owners to feel like we are in good hands and to learn about the whole process.

I called Roto-Rooter the night before for an appointment and as they said they came the very next morning. My service person was Tim who cleared my laundry drain; he did a great job and cleaned everything including the floor and washing machine off any dirt. I would highly recommend them to anyone with drain issues.

We had a really great experience with Joe J. We had our kitchen faucet replaced and he was able to take care of it quickly and work with my schedule. It was a very pleasant experience and the new faucet looks and works great. I will definitely call him again for any future plumbing problems.

We came home from our vacation, on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, to a puddle of water in the basement and no hot water. Called Roto-Rooter and they sent someone out the very next day. Within in an hour we were back in business!! Our repairman was courteous and knowledgeable. I’d highly recommend Roto-Rooter, especially if you need immediate or emergency service.

Our sump pump went out in the morning on a Saturday.Even though we have a home warranty on the sump pump, we decided to go ahead and use Roto-Rooter Plumbing even though it was going to cost us more.We are glad we did! They were at our home within 3 hours and fixed us up in 30 mins!We certainly recommend them to all our friends and family in the neighborhood!

My toilets were backing up. I thought I had a clog. It turned out to be a broken sump pump. They were able to get someone out in less than an hour. The plumber - Grant was very professional and extremely efficient. The price was fair and he was out in less than an hour. Jemo(5415) and Cy(9823) did a fantastic job fixing the leak behind my kitchen sink.. They also offered to repair the drains and replace the faucet. I had fully planned to that part myself. Their being aware of what I needed to have the job completed saved me a lot of time and trouble. Thank you.

I had a down stairs toilet that was blocked and would not go down. I called Roto-Rooter. Manny #1916 came out quickly. Had to take the toilet off and snaked the pipe and cleared the blockage quickly. Excellent job. problem resolved in less than 3 hours from time of first call.

Jairame Davis tech 4549 was very helpful and professional he arrived at my home early then expected and looked over all my plumbing issues and was very impressed with his ability to work out a solution for a very reasonable price i would recommend Mr Davis for Roto Rooter for all of any plumbing issues you may have thank you for all your hard work

Roto Rooter was most responsive and quick to diagnose the plumbing problem in my home. Their service crew were polite, competent and explained everything in detail that needed to be done. I am very pleased with the plumbing services they provided.I also like how their service personnel gave me their phone number so I could contact them directly if I needed to in the future. Roto Rooter is committed to getting the job done right and really seem to value their customers too.

First guy Angelo couldn’t unclog my drain and said I needed a new drum trap. Next guy Steven was superb and bringing him back for more plumbing work. Very unhappy with the length of time it took just to unclog a drain. Took all day for them to do the job. Only reason I didn’t give 1 star is because Steven did the job in 10 minutes.

Had two technicians come out and couldn't unclog my kitchen sink but were very friendly and informed me they would be sending an actual licensed plumber. When he showed up (again, very friendly) he was able to quickly solve the problem and fix my kitchen sink. He apologized it took three people. Great customer service goes a long way!

Other than the delay because of the snowstorn. Jason, the Root - rooter technician was very courteous and went to work right away. Assessing the issue of my water pump and the problems that might have lead to it being burned out. He explained to me things I need to know and replaced my pump easy. I was pleased with the service and will refer to them for future issues.

I called this company to fix my plumbing in my new house. They told me they cannot open it due to a blockage. They gave me 2 options either to dig through the grass and not 100% solution for $5500 or to dig through the garage and pay $7500 which wouldn’t be a 100% either and they don’t fix the concrete after. I was frustrated with the problem so i gave them a check half of $7500 for them to fix it. I called my friend to tell them and she started laughing at me. She gave me a number for another plumber who said they would do the same exact job with 100% certainty it would work for $1800 if they needed to. they got to the blockage without even digging instead they just cleaned the pipes further without any problem. Roto Rooter is a rip off they still charged me $550 without fixing anything when the other plumber fixed the problem for $300. Don’t waste your time or money.

Excellent and quick service! The plumber was able to come out within a few hours of calling on Sunday morning to help with a backed-up toilet. They were able to quickly fix the problem and took the time to make sure that it was working properly. Also received a $40 coupon from the website for any service needed. Will definitely call them again with any problems. I highly suggest using them if you live in Chicago.

Pat (#1899) was great! He showed up about 20 minutes after I called to schedule my appointment, which is record time for a plumber. He was able to replace my corroded sink pipes and install my new faucet quickly. Safe to say, I won't have water in my kitchen cabinets tonight. While originally, the intention was to just replace the leaking hose of my kitchen sink, I didn't want to wait until another day (and be sinkless) while a custom hose was obtained, so he gave me the option to go purchase another faucet at Home Depot while he was working on my sink. Pat was very nice and personable, and he even took the time to explain how to use my new and shiny faucet. I didn't ever feel like he was rushing through the job. If Pat could be the plumber I called regularly, that would be great!

Any woman that works full time and has kids, I can tell you how disruptive and inconvenient it is when your pipes are backing up. Not being able to do dishes, laundry or take a shower is brutal. A friend recommended Roto Rooter. I called. The operator was polite and surprisingly expressed empathy regarding my situation. I thought I would have to wait until the next day or longer for someone to come over, but he said they could get a technician out in a few hours. I received a call saying a technician was in the area and could be here in 10 minutes. I couldn't believe it. Technician #3215 Sergio arrived and was polite and professional. He was very knowledgeable and confident that he would clear the pipes. I was impressed with his skill and demeanor. He made a difficult situation easy. He was calm, intelligent and respectful. He represented his company perfectly. I would wholeheartedly recommend Sergio and Roto Rooter. I wish everyone had their high standards and strong work ethic. Thank you for helping us.
