Best Water Main in Seattle WA

Fox Plumbing, Heating & Cooling - Seattle Plumber
Last summer while we were traveling our water line from the meter to the house developed a large leak. Luckily it was noted by the Bellevue meter reader and he left a tag on the door. Our son in law stopped by to check on the house the next day and was able to shut the water off at the meter. He came back the following weekend, removed the pavers, dug down 30 inches and did a temporary repair to the plastic water line.We had delayed the permanent repair because of the disruption to the landscaping and pavers that the excavation would require. We found out about trenchless technology over the radio and investigated which companies offered it. Fox came to the top of the list and they were chosen to do the job.Jose and Tom were on time to start the job. The water line was replaced in about three hours and ready for inspection. Copper tubing was used to replace the original plastic pipe and we were only without water for only an hour. The inspection was done early the next morning before Jose and Tom arrived. They backfilled the meter box, added a shutoff valve and box outside the house and backfilled it and were done in a couple of hours. They did such a good job that one would have to be told that the line was replaced because you would not see where their work was done. None of the pavers, landscaping or the nearby fence were disturbed at all.Everyone we worked with in person or over the phone at Fox were first rate and very professional. Jose in particular needs special mention as we felt he knew what a professional job was and went out of his way to do it ever if it was not in the original bid.We highly recommend Fox Plumbing and Heating.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup Plumber
What a rip off. Don't get me wrong the guy that showed up was great to talk to but what a rip off. My problem was a plastic coupler in my crawlspace cracked and was leaking out water and I couldn't fix it (not the right tools) but calling them he said he could put a shutoff before the broken coupler for 300 or fix the coupler and add a shutoff for 600-850. Well I need them to actually FIX the issue not just put a shutoff on that line. So like I said the guy was really good did more work then needed and put a shutoff and fixed the coupler but the bill was then $900. So for less then say $50.00 in parts and a little less then 2 hours of his time was charged $900.00. Not there were no rebates and this was not an after hours call this was just a rip off. Be very very careful if you ever need work because they just arbitrarily pick prices.

This company went above and beyond for us! We had our kitchen cabinets installed the day before so I was calling around scheduling a plumber to install a sink, faucet, and dishwasher. They came right away but I didn’t have the faucet yet so they ran to the store and got me the exact one I wanted and installed it right away! They were friendly, charming and fast. Really cannot recommend them enough!!

Clearwater Leak Detection, Inc. Plumber
During our dry summer in the region I had noticed water collecting at the bottom of my driveway. After calling the local water municipality and checking my meter I dialed 811 to get a free locate on my property of everything but the water line to my house, which the water company/municipality does not maintain. I called Simon and spoke with him directly and he was able to see me that very day which was handy because it was my day off. He has a professional, friendly easy going attitude, not in a big rush or short with ya. I watched him meticulously do his leak detection and he had located the path my waterline took up my driveway, crossed underneath the concrete slab, and from there ran in a line to the front of the house. He had accurately painted a blue X on the spot where he believed the leak to be which was on top of the concrete slab of my driveway but on the edge of it, thankfully. After he was finished, I got my pick, shovel, and digging bar and dug down 3.5 feet to find my water line with a big tree root wrapped around it right under the edge of the driveway slab and underneath that X that Simon had marked for me. He really saved me a lot of hassle and time and of course money by not having to call in a crew or have someone else repair it. The part to fix the leak only cost $1.83! I’ve already recommended him to friends and family and do yourself a favor and call on him if you ever find you have a water leak!

Watertite Plumbing, Heating, and Sewer, LLC Plumber
I'm so glad I found Sharif. Now I have a plumber I can trust. Things that set Sharif and Watertite Plumbing apart:
1. When you call, you're actually talking directly to a plumber (Sharif). No intermediate person who just does scheduling and can't answer any of your questions.
2. Sharif will generally give you an estimate over the phone based on a description and pictures. None of this paying someone $100 just to come out and look at it nonsense. He'll also be honest about what factors that can't be evaluated this way might cause the estimate to change, but generally will stick with his original estimate and that's what you'll pay for the whole job.
3. He will keep in direct contact with you and update you if something's changed his schedule and he won't be able to make it when he estimated he would (no 4-hour windows sitting around at home wondering if someone will ever show up).
4. He'll tell you honestly about the price of different options and the pros and cons.
5. He'll use appropriate urgency to address a problem.

My interactions:
I first contacted Sharif about installing a smart water shutoff. Based on pictures, he gave me an estimate and said what problem might arise that would require additional work. This was totally different than the handful of other plumbers I called, where I spoke to a scheduling person who wanted to schedule a $100 for someone to come by for an estimate. I ended up installing the shutoff myself, but based on my interactions, I knew who I would go to the next time I had a plumbing problem. So when the waterline to my house started leaking, I called up Sharif on a Friday afternoon. He was able to come by that evening and worked in the dark to dig up and identify the leak. We talked through options and what they would cost. Because I had old rusted out galvanized, the whole thing had to be replaced. Throughout the process Sharif was communicative about the work needed and when he'd be doing it, didn't charge more than his original estimate (even when it turned out he needed to also move my interior shutoff), and gave some advice on unrelated plumbing things (like how I could make my sewage extractor less stinky).

Next time I have a plumbing issue, I wouldn't consider calling anyone else.
