Simon was able to get out to me next day and detect a leak that we had just become aware of. He was very professional, timely, and gave great advice on how to handle the situation. He detected the leak in about 40 minutes and offered support over text on a Sunday when I was fixing it. Great guy that you can trust to do right by you.

Excellent service! It’s one thing to have technology; it’s another thing to know and understand that technology. Simon used what I will call progressive diagnostics to map the water lines in our concrete slab. From a visual inspection to a “simple” thermal imaging device to the next to a sophisticated listening device to isolate the leak to a one meter circle. I hope to update this review with the results from the the repair.
Simon gave excellent advice on the next steps after having located the most probable area for the leak (just the nature of plumbing in a concrete slab).
FYI. The 3 hour minimum charge was fully reimbursed by my insurance within a day.

Living in an old house without precise knowledge of existing waterline structure, Simon was patiently navigating through the house step by step with thorough explanations. Simon did a great job of locating the leak on my waterline service. Pinpointed it exactly where it was about 42 deep. Had already hired a contractor to pothole concrete driveway without success. Would highly recommend his service, very pleased with his work.

I'm a Landscape Irrigation contractor, in the biz for 33+ years. I've called on Simon in a few situations that totally flummoxed me- every single time he nailed it, pinpointed the leak and surprised my old jaded self. Really good get- the only time he disappointed me is when he couldn't make himself available, which is understandable- demand is high- his skill set is high value. I've dealt with other leak detection guys that I've given side eye - They don't rise to the level they boast. Lazy or cocky, Simon is not either. We were referred to Simon at Clearwater Leak Detection by Mark the Good Plumber. Simon was able to find our leak within an hour, was very professional and pleasant to work with. He quoted us a fair rate for the repair, and for replacement of the main pipe from the meter to the house. We did the work ourselves and he was 100% SPOT ON with his location of our leak - it was exactly where he said it was under our driveway! I will definitely keep both contacts numbers handy should I need these services again!

Pool was loosing water. Simon came and did an extensive examination of the pool and all the plumbing. He was able to map out all of the undeground pipes for intake and outake. Eventually he found the leaks in the side of the pool. There was an old decommissioned 1.5 inch copper pipe that had started leaking at some point. He inserted a screw cap, and the leak was fixed.

Was notified by PUD that our meter was running excessively. After looking over a lot of reviews online, I decided to call Clearwater. I spoke with Simon on a Friday, and he was able to squeeze me in on Monday.
He was right on time, and went straight to work. I have a long driveway, and the waterline runs under most of it, then cuts over to the garage.
After some time, Simon had narrowed it down to two potential spots he was feeling strongly about. He commented that it was difficult to determine between the two and felt that the line could be deep, or something over it. He picked one of the two spots and marked it.
He had let me know in advance that due to his current schedule, he would be unable to do the repair himself, but recommended Trident Plumbing who he felt good about. Trident came out, cut the driveway, dug out the dirt, but initially were unable to find the line. I called Simon, and he came out the next day and did another scan. It turned out, he was in the right place for the line, but it was to the side and the plumber had been only about one shovel more from it. Simon then dug some more under the concrete, and sure enough, not only was the leak under the first spot he suspected, but it was covered by a large root, that had pinched the pipe.
He definitely knew what he was doing, and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

I have a leak in my water line and called the plumber. He told me I could call Clearwater or another company. He said he felt Simon was the best in his field. So of course I had to call him. I called on Tuesday and got lucky because Simon was able to come out on Thursday. He came and went right to work. He was very nice and professional. I called Clearwater due to a very large water bill and receiving a notice from the city that I might have a leak. I determined the leak was outside of my home via instructions in brochure.

Initially, I had a plumber come to my house to get an estimate to fix it. He said I needed to have my whole water line replaced and gave me an estimate of $11,000. He did suggest that I call a leak detection service, but also said that would just cost me more money and they would say that the whole line needed to be replaced...

I am SO glad I called Clearwater. Simon was very helpful. He said I needed to do some investigative work before he could decide if he needed to come over. The first thing being to figure out what type of shut off valve I had at the meter.

While I was digging, water started to pour in. It was clear that the leak was right there. He advised me to call the city, since that is their part of the water pipe. City sent a crew to fix same day! Big thanks to Simon for his instructions over the phone and for saving me at least $11,000!

Simon came out the same day I called about our main water line break. He detected the leak and was able to repair it 2 days later. He showed me the broken pipe and the how he repaired it. The whole time spent took about 3 hours. The price was was 50% less than a quote I received from a plumbing company!! Excellent work. I would definitely recommend Clearwater Leak Detection.

My experience with Clearwater Leak Detection was great. Simon was very knowledgeable and found our underground pipe leak in no time at all. He took the time to show us the issue and explained how to prevent the problem in the future. He was able to perform the repairs quickly and put our leak fears to rest! Where do I start...I hired Clear water to locate a small leak between the meter and my house. Simon came out and found the spot for me. I told him I was going to dig it up and attempt the repair myself..Simon told me that after I could see the pipe to call him and he would either bring the parts I needed or fix it himself.

During our dry summer in the region I had noticed water collecting at the bottom of my driveway. After calling the local water municipality and checking my meter I dialed 811 to get a free locate on my property of everything but the water line to my house, which the water company/municipality does not maintain. I called Simon and spoke with him directly and he was able to see me that very day which was handy because it was my day off. He has a professional, friendly easy going attitude, not in a big rush or short with ya. I watched him meticulously do his leak detection and he had located the path my waterline took up my driveway, crossed underneath the concrete slab, and from there ran in a line to the front of the house. He had accurately painted a blue X on the spot where he believed the leak to be which was on top of the concrete slab of my driveway but on the edge of it, thankfully. After he was finished, I got my pick, shovel, and digging bar and dug down 3.5 feet to find my water line with a big tree root wrapped around it right under the edge of the driveway slab and underneath that X that Simon had marked for me. He really saved me a lot of hassle and time and of course money by not having to call in a crew or have someone else repair it. The part to fix the leak only cost $1.83! I’ve already recommended him to friends and family and do yourself a favor and call on him if you ever find you have a water leak!

Simon recently detected our heavy water leak in our driveway. He came out the same day I called, and easily detected with his professional equipment the exact location of the leak. He clearly marked the spot and it was in the exact location for the repair work to be done. We are very pleased with his professionalism and his friendly demeanor and customer service. I first used Clearwater Leak Detection when Simon had just started his business years ago. I have used his services many times since then and have watched him grow. He has purchased newer technology equipment to assist him helping me faster! Simon is always on time and extremely professional. He has never charged more than I am quoted and I am highly satisfied.

Puyallup City Water Dept notified us we had a leak which needed fixing. Our go-to plumbing services (Spartan Rooter of Tacoma) recommended Simon at Clearwater Leak Detection. I called him and scheduled an appointment (only several days after my call). Our leak was located with some difficulty because it was a small one in the main water line coming from the meter to the house, but it was located underneath a sidewalk about 5' deep. Simon located it perfectly. He also recommended we replace our water shutoff valve next to the house because it was an old type that was prone to break. We then called 811 and had the location marked with whatever other underground utilities there were - several were close. After that, Spartan came out and repaired the leak and replaced the shutoff valve. Simon is very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. We recommend him 100% - nice to have had such a pro help us out.

Simon arrived on time and persisted until he sourced my leak. This was determined to be in a very difficult position and deep in the ground. He not only helped source a repair team, but involved the local Enumclaw Water Utility team. The repair was completed exactly where Simon said the leak existed.

After receiving a water bill over $500 for my rental house, I had my son call Clearwater Leak Detection to locate the leak. Simon gave us the time he would be out, and was at the residence as stated. He explained the process he would use to locate the leak and what his charges were. He promptly went to work and after a few hours he located the leak in the main water line. He stated he could fix it and gave me a price that was reasonable. He set a time to do the repair and again arrived as state with all the equipment needed to do the job. After digging a very large, deep hole, he located the leaking line exactly where he stated it was and replaced the leaking section of the line, that had been repaired 3 times before with hose clamps, with a new section of water line with brass fittings. He was at all times Friendly, Courteous, Knowledgeable and Professional in his work. I would not hesitate to call Simon again or recommend him to anyone that would need his services.

Simon was just like what all the reviewers said, knowledgeable. To me the most impressive is his generosity of sharing his knowledge over the phone helping me to diagnose the problem of my difficult mysterious water leaking problem. He tried to solve the problem over the phone with me without any fees and when we decided that it will need a under the slab water detection, he was very clear and up front about his fees and I had no hesitation to agree as the trust has been established. There's no cheaper way to find some complex leaks, like under a concrete slab. And if you need one company to do this, GET SIMON as he is as good as any others out there and most likely better. Plus you will be dealing with the expert yourself, not some dispatchers. I'm very grateful that I found Simon.

On July 12th, a representative, from the City of Puyallup, paid me a visit, at my home, to inform me, of a water leak, that their Automatic Meter Reader (AMR) system, had detected on June 28th, resulting in there being a 240 gallon per day, water lose, occurring somewhere on my property. I instantly suspected the leak to be within my sprinkler system, versus within my home, because I had just turned my sprinkler system on, on June 27th, and also for the 1st time, since purchasing my home, in October 2015. On July 14th, I had my landscaper, test my sprinkler system, and after doing so, he determined there was indeed a leak, somewhere within my sprinkler system. Unfortunately, he was unable to determine the precise location of the leak, so his recommendation, was to start digging up my new lawn and surrounding landscaping, in order to find the leak. This idea, was not welcoming to me, because I had just completed an extensive & expensive landscaping job, with my landscaper, and I envisioned this digging task, to be even more extensive & expensive. So on July 17th, I reached out to a company, who had been recommended to me, by the City of Puyallup, being Clearwater Leak Detection (CLD) and I received a call back, immediately, that morning, from Simon Calis, of CLD, whereby he informed me, that he'd be available, to conduct a leak detection test, at my home, that same day, and so I set an appointment with him, for that afternoon, to do so. When Simon arrived at my home, he began his leak detection testing, and within about 2 hours, he was able to detect the suspecting leak in my sprinkler system. Simon had a great personality, a good sense of humor, and was very professional, yet very personable, at the same time, and I could tell, that he took great personal pride, in the services, he provided, but more importantly, that he was truly, a genuine and honest person, by nature. I must add, that I was very impressed, with the cleanliness & tidiness of Simon's truck & the variety of sophisticated equipment, he carried on hand with him. Spoke with Simon on Thursday morning and that afternoon he was on site discussing my options with me regarding a main line water leak. Clearwater Leak Detection did a great job finding my leak that was located under my driveway. The Plumbing Company that fixed the leak used Simons pinpoint mark to cut through the driveway, and when the pipe leak was located it was within 6 of his mark 42 under ground.....amazing. I would highly recommend his service should you need leak detection.

I've been trying to hunt down a leak on my property for the past 2 weeks. I've had a plumber and folks from a water restoration company with a thermal imaging device come take a look. Nobody could find any signs of leaks. But, the water meter said differently. I then called a few leak detection companies and they immediately started talking about finding leaks with fancy techniques requiring nitrogen. One of them was convinced I had a slab leak. Most of these companies employ receptionists so you don't actually get to talk to an experienced technician.

I gave Clearwater Leak Detection a call and was able to immediately talk to the owner Simon. He asked what was going on and after listening to my issue, provided his rates and a working theory on what might be going on.

What truly stood out is how professional Simon was. I can tell he loves his craft and was willing to be transparent upfront. Other companies require their technicians to come out in person before they share anything.

Simon was very good and easy to work with. He was able to give a quote and perform without us being home. He was willing to stop by prior to contracting on a weekend and able to answer technical questions. His bid was competitive and his work was good.

Unbelievable!!! Woke up to have the city water folks tell us that we have a leak in our water main somewhere between the main road entrance to our property and the lake behind our home some 1000 feet away, oh and by the way there are trees, plans and structures in the way, we were thinking $50K to solve. Simon of Clearwater Leak Detection replaced, over the weekend, the main waterline from meter to front water bib. About 10 months ago he detected a water leak in the same area, and advised me at the time that I may want to save money by replacing the line considering the condition and age, and I opted not to. Now I'm replacing before I get any further water bills from the county for leaks.
Simon and his team arrived early and had the holes dug before I even realized they had arrived. They explained the process clearly, they worked a full day until the job was completed, and they put my yard back together, which looked better than when they started. Simon of Clearwater Leak Detection, Inc. arrived as scheduled. A little early if I recall but I was happy that he was. It Shows professionalism and integrity in my estimation.

Using his test equipment he set out to locate the underground pipes and find the leak. He was meticulous and seemed to be very precise in his testing and evaluation. In under two hours he had laid out and marked the location of the underground pipe. He located the source of the leak and marked the asphalt/grass accordingly. (See Photo)

He used had sensitive sound sensing equipment to locate the pipe run and the leak. He did this by turning off the water supply at the water meter. He pressurized the water line with compressed air from his truck. His air line was connected to one of the hose bibs at the residence. Using the sound generated by the air pressure escaping from the line underground, he systematically located the pipe run and isolated the leak. His methods, equipment and the use of that equipment was very impressive. The leak was 26 Inches underground and approximately 24 inches from the Blue X (See Photo). The entire water pipe run is about 60 feet end to end and he located the leak within two feet.

In November of 2018 I had experience with another leak detector. Due to their lack of professionalism, they were NOT on my call back list.

If I ever need leak detection service again, I sincerely hope that Clearwater Leak Detection will be available. They are highly recommended.

As to cost of the service, I believe all the leak detection services charge within a few dollars of one another, about $450. But I have to tell you, after I spent two days digging up my yard to locate a leak in my rocky Spanaway property, I am kicking myself for not calling them sooner.

plumbing issues can be stressful. Simon's knowledge, skill and professionalism made me confident of a more than satisfactory outcome. Clearwater leak detection has my highest recomendation.

The water department notified us we had a serious leak between our main and the house. Our line went behind a 30' rockery and uphill to our house. Things looked very dire and we were facing a $10,000 bid to tunnel behind the rockery and replace the entire line. Rather than act on that bid, I kept researching and learned about leak detection. Simon responded to help us find out exactly what our problem was, a leak in an old joint 100' away from rockery. We were so close to biting the 10k bullet. Simon didn't make any promises before he came, he kept us grounded and prepared for the worst, but he was a pro and he methodically eliminated worries, found the leak, and then at my request, repaired it.

In the end, I dug a hole to expose the leak, he repaired it and my grand total was $1,100.

Mine is an usual review, perhaps, because no one from Clearwater Leak Detection ever actually came to my home. I called and spoke to the owner of the company, and told him that there was definitely a leak somewhere in my lawn/garden irrigation system that was costing me a good deal of money on my Seattle City water bill. He described the method that the company would use to detect my leak, but suggested that I determine first whether the leak existed in the main valve box. My water bill was going through the roof so I called out a plumbing company named Roto router that took me to the cleaners for a couple thousand dollars and didn’t even fix the leak! Don’t ever call Roto router ever they are rude and so expensive and then did not do the job at all. My experience with Clearwater was totally different totally! They showed up exactly on time very personable, Great smile and actually spoke English not that I’m not a fluent in 48 other languages LOL but he’s the first one of 32 were from rotor router that spoke my language which was refreshing and he was knowledgeable told me what he thought it was and he was exactly right. He said it was going to go outside and see what he could find and within 20 minutes he was back at the door telling me it was all fixed I could not believe it all fixed the meter was not running at all with the leak and he told me I had been leaking about 700 gallons per day per day! Incredible what a waste thanks Roto router for running my water bill up another $300 by not fixing anything. I have used Clearwater twice at 2 different houses and I appreciate their knowledge and explanations of what they find so even I can understand. I'll use the word quirky to describe my current water system, and Simon handled it all with calm knowledge and professionalism. I'm starting to understand the difficulties (I'm being polite) in this type of work, and I found Clearwater's pricing quite reasonable, all things considered.

Awesome. $500 bucks well spent finding a water main leak along my 350 ft run. Put down that painted X within 6 inches of the leak that was 2 feet down. Stopped me from continuing to make my driveway look like a scene from the movie Holes. A few hours of backbreaking labor on my part saved me a $13k line replacement. Woohoo.

Called Simon about a leak in our main water line. He was out in a few days, found the leak and was spot on! Great customer service and very dependable!!

The owner of this business arrived on schedule and quickly identified the location of the leak. He did identify 2-3 locations which was a bit concerning. Later when I dug up the location I found two leaks which corresponded almost exactly to where he had put in the flags. The fix was relatively quick and easy.
