We booked ahead of time, confirmed the morning of, arranged for someone to be there for a 3 hour window of time, and made sure hey had the right number to call when on the way.
Instead however, they did not call ahead. Plumber showed up 40 minutes early, no one was there as they were expecting them later, plumber did not wait for a return call but left and refused to return. Dispatch notified, said they'd call back but. never did. Subsequent calls just rang and rang never went anywhere (blocked my number?). Very unprofessional.

These guys were great. I called them out initially do to a test only for the Oakland sewer lateral compliance program. My line failed miserably and I ended up hiring them to replace my sewer line instead. They only charged me for the replacement! They were quick efficient and clean. I would do business with them again

Marcus was our guy for the job! He was knowledgeable with estimates and worked on our needs with professionalism and expertise. I loved how they provided a good time frame for arrival and pic as our neighborhood reported scammy repair personnel knocking on folks homes in the past.

These guys are great. I called them late at night after several failed attempts to get a hold of other 24 hour companies and was able to get a friendly lady on the phone right away. They sent a tech over and did not up-charge due to late hour. They even offered to bill my landlord as long as I signed for invoice. Easy and smooth service all around. Highly recommended!

Smelly Mel's is a great company. I hired them to replace my entire sewer line several years ago, and I hired them again to replace the sewer line at my kid's preschool. These jobs were seriously tough jobs. Both sewer lines were old, nasty, damaged, and required digging them out completely. They cut through asphalt, even digging through concrete and rock. Then they replaced and installed the sewer line with total expertise.

Because of their hard work, our sewage systems will survive many more decades. Some cities like San Mateo have a rebate program that will refund up to $5000 of the job, and Smelly Mel's has always come in with the best pricing. If you have sewer problems, go with Smelly Mel's. Total pros.

We had a plumbing issue with our THG thermostatic valve that lasted 4+ years until Phil from Lutz Plumbing came out and solved our issue. Three different plumbers came out and had no idea how to resolve the issue. We had no cold water in our masterbath shower for 4+ years since no one knew how to work on THG. I can't say enough about Phil from Lutz Plumbing. Phil is extremely competent, talented, very punctual and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He was very patient and methodical in diagnosing our problem with our THG thermostatic valve. I can't thank Phil enough for resolving our THG issue! We can now take a hot or cold shower without going into the garage to adjust our hot water heater. Our water pressure is incredible. Our shower no longer dribbles water it actually sprays. If you have a plumbing issue or want to avoid a plumbing issue, hire Phil and he will save you extreme headaches from the beginning. Phil will be our go to plumber from now on. I just posted a photo of the new toilet Ace installed. Our house has had Ace out numerous times to resolve various issues relating to our building's age (1880's) and the shoddy DIY work of previous owners. These guys have always been nice. Upfront, accurate estimates before work begins. In this particular bathroom Ace advised us we could either keep fighting the issue or simply replace the toilet. They let me select, from the variety at the big box hardware store, for whichever toilet would meet my needs (and fit). Dude! I so wish we'd done this long ago. It looks so sweet and the flush so reliable without threatening to overflow.

Johnny and Joe have worked on my rentals over the years and are honest and very good at what they do. They always have my best interest at heart and I appreciate that. Great Customer Service .
