Honest , on time , will use this company again in near future
I had a huge water leak in my yard. They sent someone right away to identify the problem, and to stop the leak. I called a gardener to repair the irrigation system, as Heises does not do that work. I really appreciate the speedy response.
Took a lot of time to diagnose the problem and make a determination on how to proceed with the issue.
This is the third time we have use Heises, totally satisfied each time

Drainage problem.
Horrible customer service, we were a loyal customer for over 10 years. They misdiagnosed an issue with my kitchen sink, refused to admit their mistake and they were extremely rude about it. We ended up fixing the problem ourselves.
I was out of town for two weeks and got a call from a tenant with backed up toilet and shower. Heise responded quickly and came out and did the unclogging. Load of stress gone!

We got a new fridge, but the installers refused to hook up the ice machine to the water line. There was a corroded fitting, and they couldn't find the shut off valve or something. I couldn't do it myself without leaks - it was pretty badly corroded. Erick replaced the part and hooked it up. Once we got the water running, he realized that it was leaking at the fridge and our old plastic hose wasn't working, so he ran the hose that came with the fridge through the cabinet and hooked that all up. We were chatting and joking a bit; he's easy to work with. Good guy.

Heises was awesome! They’re plumbing problem-solving gurus. They found the source of our leak and fixed it in an hour — at a very reasonable price, repairing shoddy work with real hands-on smarts and a bit of ingenuity. They were super professional and also really nice guys, making a stressful situation easy for us and finding a solution that didn’t require us breaking through a wall (as another plumber had told us we’d have to). We’re very grateful they were so responsive and conscientious. We’re customers for life and can’t recommend them highly enough.

Uneventful & seamless process from the time I described problem & made an appointment to the prompt arrival at my house to fix the problem & the timely conclusion of the house call. Great communication from the office with scheduling & the plumber as he gave progress reports while working on the repair. I was kept in-the-loop throughout the process. Plumber was also very respectful of my home & left the work area clean. Heise's was recommended to me by two separate people who have used them before. I would totally use them again & recommend them without hesitation.

Sergio was excellent. He diagnosed the need to replace my water heater, which had shut down completely, in the late afternoon, and the next day he had a new water heater – the one we both agreed was the best for my home - installed by mid-afternoon. The installation was not straightforward and required door removals and navigating tight corners, but they didn’t leave a scratch.

I have used Heise’s for at least 25 years, and have always been pleased and completely satisfied with their services. They have unclogged pipes,large and small, replaced toilets, faucets and shower heads and the list goes on. I have gotten to know most of their techs and they are uniformly pleasant,knowledgeable, and capable. Even when standard parts don’t work, they are creative enough to devise workarounds to solves the problem. The hot water tap on our bathroom faucet was leaking. After visits from a handy man, then by a plumber, we learned our old fixture was too corroded to repair. So we ordered a new faucet from Lowe’s and paid for installation. After 3 no-shows by the plumber we were assigned by Lowe’s contractor (Handy), someone on Next Door recommended Heise’s. I was able to book an appointment for two days after my call. The plumber (Cesar Perry) showed up promptly at the scheduled time. He pointed out some of the equipment we were removing was higher quality than what Lowe’s sent, so we kept it. He completed the whole job in an hour, cleaned up all the debris, and was polite and friendly the whole time. I can’t praise Heise’s and Mr. Perry enough! Excellent work!

Heises reseated and tightened hose connections that had been knocked out of alignment and were leaking. He showed up on the two hour time window and the work was done quickly and professionally. Would definitely use for future work.
Mark and his assistant were great. Punctual, quickly diagnosed the problem and answered all of our questions.
Ceasar from Heise's Plumbing texted when he was en route and even arrived a few minutes early. I had put off calling a plumber for a long time due to bad experiences. Because of this, I had a small list of things that needed I needed help with.
There was an old instant hot water faucet gizmo that was rusty, corroded and had never worked in the 25 years. That got removed. My garbage disposal also had never worked, but Cesar did some tweaks and got it working. My faucet had been dripping for a long time and the drains in both the kitchen and bathroom sink was plugged and draining very slowly. . Cesar was able to snake both sinks and resolve the clogs.
I had a new faucet from Home Depot which he installed for me, no more dripping!!! The new faucet is much nicer. Besides doing the mechanical work, Cesar was very helpful and giving me advice about various plumbing related things.
I wrote down the advice and taped it on the inside of my cabinet along with the information about Heise's plumbing, and Cesar for the next time I have a plumbing problem.

Performed periodic maintenance on my tankless water heater. Original installer put the recirculation valves in upside down. Rep was able to free up extended time (rather than come back another day) and make necessary repairs, not just do the scheduled draining/decalcifying.

I had several estimates for some plumbing needed to bathtub drain, I selected Heise because I live in the Excelsior and I like to patronize near-by/neighborhood business. I went into my home office to catch up on things and heard a drip drip. Turns out the water heater was leaking into my office. The water heater is in a closet in my office. So I had to clear out most of my office into the hall in the garage. Heise's came quickly, evaluated and ordered & picked up a special commercial water heater , If the water heater services two or more units then it has to be a commercial water heater.

From my initial phone call with a service request and the finished job, everyone that I dealt with at Heise's Plumbing was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Two plumbers arrived in a short span of time after I called about a gas leak in the gas valve behind my stove the day before Thanksgiving. They figured out the issue with the gas line, replaced the valve, and pushed the stove and exhaust vent back into place. I am grateful for such great service. We were afraid it might be a holiday disaster. Everything turned out perfect.

Installed new disposal - super polite, cleaner under my sink after their service! Tightened wobbly faucet without my asking.
Visit before was to jet wash clean out of exterior sump pit and nearby floor drain, backed up with debris and food waste, installed plug, recommended installing sieve over floor drain, showed where to listen for running water to make sure pipe is flowing. They are my go-to plumber and will refer them to friends. Excellent service, highly recommend Heise Plumbing!

I <3 Heise's Plumbing! I got a quote from a competing company for 2 small repairs and snaking two drains for about $1100. Heise's just did the work for under $300!!!! They did it well and José, the plumber they sent, was friendly and clearly knowledgeable and took the time to help me investigate a potential under-house leak. I found a gas leak in the garage around 4 pm. I called two other plumbing companies and they were all getting ready to go home. Knowing gas leaks can't wait, Heise went out of the way to convince two of their plumbers to swing by after they were finished with their day's work to help me. And the fixed the problem within an hour with a beautiful job. They even relit the pilot light for the water heater, which went out when they turned off the gas main valve so they could fix the gas leak.
I had seen their work in my prior resident. They plumbers were all very professional, did a great job, and then made sure everything was cleaned up after their work.
All in all, in addition to the five qualities checked off above, Heise was responsive to our emergencies. They did not treat the work just as another job. They treated us customers as real people needing help.

He came 20 minutes early (about 8:40 am). Luckily, I was ready anyhow.
He did a good job but he seemed very pressed for time. He received 3 calls (from his boss?) asking him why he wasn't done yet.
When he was done, he replaced my items back under the sink, which was very nice, but he left debris from the job (bits of putty and scraps of things ) underneath my things on the floor of the storage area so I needed to empty out the space and clean that out.
I felt like my job was squeezed into a time slot that was not big enough.
Otherwise, he was professional and the garbage disposal is working just fine.
Caesar came quickly/on time and installed a new gas ball valve and flex hose for the stove. Excellent service!! Thank you!

it was a rather complicated ceiling galvanized pipe leak situation. the work was excellent and went quicker than expected. it took fewer hours than was reflected in the original estimate. as a result, the original bid turned out to be too high given actual hours it took to do complete the job and heise's reduced the bill to reflect the fewer hours. excellent work, excellent invoice honesty. i would definitely use them again.

Plumber was 2hrs late, but said he would be 1hr late. I sent a video of the leaky faucet 1 week in advance, and was not told I would need to shut the building water off (water in older SF apartment buildings has to be shut off for everyone). When he gets there, something breaks while he's doing the repair and it can't be fixed without shutting the entire building's water off. I have to coordinate through my building property manager an emergency notice to the entire building to shut the water off. The leaky faucet gets fixed but way more drama/stress than necessary. TLDR, always be prepared to shut the water off for the plumber.
I recommend Heise's plumbing. Came early in the appointment window, nice guy, courteous, and got the job done quickly.

The plumbers working for this company are skilled, but communication from this business needs improvement. Over a week after our visit, I never heard back with a quote. I tried calling 4 times over 4 days, with a promise to hear back by the end of the day each day. It wasn't until I informed them that we were moving onto working with another business that they sent just one of the three quotes we expected. And finally, I was disappointed that a bathroom drawer which was removed and replaced to briefly inspect a sink was not re-installed properly, which I didn't notice until after Sergio left. It struggles to shut properly and the soft-close feature of the drawer does not work anymore.

The office staff is the best— super responsive and helpful. As a new homeowner in a 100yr + home, a mystery leak is terrifying. I called Heise and Brandy was extremely helpful and made me feel everything was going to be okay. She got someone out right away and was able to schedule the follow up. The plumbers did a good job. The work was efficiently done and now I have a working disposal. I am making an appointment to address other plumbing issues. I think their services and work are exceptional.

Of course doing the plumbing work is different from billing/office support and being non-responsive to a query about billed parts charges can be a cause of concern.

They showed up on schedule. They were quick, professional and fixed the issue (a leak under the sink). They answered all my questions along the way. I would use them again.
The crew arrived exactly on time and were very efficient in their inspection and analysis of the various problems to be addressed. Clogged sink drain, non-functioning toilet flush, and a couple of leaky faucets. Excellent communication, all problems solved, and everything is now in perfect working order. Highly recommended.
Heise's Plumbing is now my go-to Plumbing business. They worked with me to get the most bang for my buck on some jobs that needed to be done. They were on time, polite, and cleaned up after themselves, including taking my old toilet with them. We worked together on the bill which I really appreciated. They were actually early, which worked out better for me. I had to keep rescheduling my appointment, and the worked with me to choose a time that worked for me without charging me extra.

This time I was informed that I have to replace the kitchen facet due to a leak in the wager extension chord--it is leaking badly. I was instructed to order a new one and then they will install it. I was informed that I will not be charged for the visit to find the leak and they will only charge me when the install the new facet is installed.

Have been using Heise for years. They are reliable, and knowledgeable about plumbing issues in San Francisco's many older homes. They are good at communication which is so important.
Heise's is a great company - they are easy to deal with. Plumbers get the job done, are reasonably on-time, communicative and the people answering the phone are helpful, too. I also own a rental and they make it easy to get things fixed.
Toto Washlet installed. However, the old control panel, now useless, remains on the wall and I can’t remove it. There is a wall bracket for the handheld controller that wasn’t installed. And despite a bold warning to the installer, cushion pads were not affixed to the tank lid. What’s next?

Eddie at Heise's Plumbing serviced all three of my Geberit in wall toilets in a prompt and professional manner. But what is most important to me is Heise's Plumbing sent Eddie back to make some minor adjustments the next business day without any additional charges because they would not accept anything less than 100% customer satisfaction. I rarely post reviews on work performed by trades people because in the current environment the quality of their work and the lack of professionalism usually ranges anywhere from very disappointing to a lot worse. But my experience with Heise's Plumbing has easily earned them a well deserved five star rating.

Kitchen sink drain unclogged of grease with snaking device within 10 minutes. In and out in under 25 minutes. Great job Heise's! Also got tips on how to mix baking soda and vinegar with boiling water monthly to flush out pipes.
Heise's Plumbing is expert, reliable, very accommodating for a repeat customer. No need to think of going to somewhere else.

I am the president of a 6 unit condo association. I have relied on Heise's Plumbing for many years. I recently called Mike with an urgent need to find and repair a sewer line leak. Ryan came out a few hours later, assessed the problem and gave me a verbal estimate of the cost. The work was scheduled for the next morning and completed later in the day. Ryan and his apprentice helper could not have been more professional, timely and informative. The job was invoiced for exactly the estimate price.

They have a great crew of plumbers. Everyone does quality work that they stand by. Even though they were fully booked, they made room in their busy schedule to replace my water heater the same day I called.

I can’t recommend Heise’s Plumbing more highly. I had Heise’s Plumbing repair a leaking washing machine shutoff. They were great. Then months later my water heater broke suddenly. I don’t know how they did it but they came and replaced it within 48 hours. Really impressive considering I wasn’t a big customer of theirs and everyone in SF is busy right now.
Eddie, the Heise plumber who came by was professional and neat. He replaced an old garbage disposal that was leaking. Even though the job was expensive, it was well worth the money. Couldn't ask for anything more...

My two-handle bathtub faucet had a slow drip leak. Another plumber looked at it and said there was no currently manufactured replacement valve for the 40+ year old defective one. His solution was a drastic one - to remove some tiles and install a completely new system. In contrast, Heise's plumber found a close valve match and was able to make some adjustments to the configuration to solve the problem.

I called yesterday and they fixed a plugged bathroom sink today! Great responsiveness! I liked both plumbers who arrived. They were not masked, and they didn’t ask whether I would like them to be masked. When I said that I would like them to, they were very happy to oblige. Covid is not over yet as much as we wish it were. N95 masks are very easy to get now, and they afford the best possible protection.
Please consider this.
I haven’t received the invoice so I can’t comment about value, and I have to see how long the fix lasts to comment on that. I’m pretty sure it’ll be just fine, they came highly recommended from a friend of ours. I would use them again for sure, they are also in our neighborhood, and we like supporting our local businesses.

My old Sears water heated busted and I immediately panicked and called Heise’s. I spoke with Mike and he was calm and reassuring. He explained what needed to be done. They sent Marlon and Jordan who were punctual and very professional. They installed a brand new heater since mine corroded. They removed and disposed of my old unit. I don’t know about the cost since I didn’t get estimates, but I know the work is top quality with Heise’s so it’s worth it to me. They hire the best plumbers. They are knowledgeable and responsible. They are my go to for all my plumbing needs.

Heise's Plumbing determined the problem with my water heater they had installed almost 5 yrs ago. Replaced the burner and control box. Both still under warranty. I've been using Heise's Plumbing for over 10 years and they have always provided me with quality and reliable work.

Two Heise plumbers spent two hours installing my new dishwasher (including removing and disposing of the old one). They did a good job and I’m happy they were available just two work days after I called. However, the final cost was a shock: $750 (more than half the price of the dishwasher!).
I had used them before—even on a Sunday of Christmas week for about $225 an hour. I didn’t expect this straightforward installation to take two men, two hours, and $750! However, they told me this isn’t a job they usually do, so perhaps it took longer than usual.
I bought my dishwasher from Lowe’s and for three weeks they scheduled an installer (@$159) but no one came. The one that showed up said my water valve was damaged (so he couldn’t install the dishwasher)! But when the Heise guys came, they said the valve was fine.
In any case they did a good job and the dishwasher seems to be running fine with no leaks. I appreciate their professionalism.

It's always a bummer to need a plumber (the hassle, time, expense...) but Heise's makes the experience so much better with on time, thoughtful, polite service. Always a full clean up when done. Helpful that they give you the name of your technician so you know who to expect at your door - esp now during covid. Heise's was recommended to me by a neighbor and I have told SO many friends about their good work ! !

Very knowledgeable. Dealt with parts for an obsolete fixture. Only a top professional would go that extra mile. A previous plumber once observed when looking at this fixture, I'm not touching that! Ceasar did and got it done!

Was a bit disappointed with the follow up. The work as fine but there were not very good follow up and communications about the plan as well as progress. There was a situation where one of the expert made the situation worst by making a non dripping faucet into one where they had to install a shut off. The job ended up costing much more because I did not want to keep working with them. This used to be my go to plumber and bummed this was not a great experience.
We discovered our water heater had sprung a leak! Called Heise’s and within a couple of hours their guys had expertly removed the old one and installed a new one. They were professional, polite, funny and personable. Will definitely call them for any plumbing issues in the future!

Great customer service. Reliable and honest. Easy to schedule with. Very responsive. Due to an unfortunate chain of events we had damage to the cabinet underneath our leaky sink and Dave had someone fix it for us free of charge!!
Working with Heises plumbing was an excellent experience. They worked out details beforehand over the phone, gave me a choice of dates and even arrived an hour early. They replaced 2 toilets and a garbage disposal within 2 hours leaving everything clean afterwards. I would t hesitate to call them in the future.
