Sink Replacement Project Successful! Daniel and his team are professional and courteous and consistently deliver high-quality service. Most recently, Avi replaced a very old bathroom sink in our guest bathroom. Not only did Daniel and Avi find an exact replacement (for a very old and oddly-sized sink), but they replaced it without having to change any piping or modify/replace any countertop. Additionally, Avi was extremely conscientious about COVID precautions and cleaning up the entire work area when finished. I would definitely recommend Chosen Rooter & Plumbing.

Chosen Rooter will be my plumbing company for the foreseeable future. They were the FOURTH plumbing company that I had come to my house to fix a leaky pipe that was located in my kitchen ceiling. The three previous plumbers either charged me to tell me that I had a leak and then recommended I bring in a specialist (you mean, like a plumber?!), told me the job was too big, or tried to tell me that it would take hours to find the leak and during that time I'd be charged for diagnostics. Mind you, I had already stripped the lathe and plaster from my own ceiling and could point to the connectors that were leaking, so the last guy was just trying to stack some hours on the job. I called Chosen and told them that I had a job that needed fixing, and that I needed someone to come who wasnt going to jerk my around. They came and fixed it the next day. Hassle free, agreed upon price before work started, professional, and pleasant. I sincerely appreciated doing business with them and the service they provided.

This company is top notch. I needed an emergency plumber and I don’t regret my decision to go with Chosen Rooter. They were quick to respond and quick to finish the job. They were also very honest and super knowledgeable in the issue at hand.

If I could give a zero I would. This place is nothing but a ripoff. We had to use them since this is the only place our home warranty allowed. Since March we had been dealing with the screen not working on our water heater. After around 12 visits, over $7,000 in costs for a new water heater and prior visits, they now left us with a water heater that is tripping the outlet GFCI about every 4 hours! When I called for their assistance to help, they wipes there hands clean and said I can either call an electrician or another plumber, but they are done with services for me. So 9 months later we are in worse shape than when we started. They don’t back their work, go somewhere else!

Robert unblocked our shower drain, which was more complex than usual given the plunger had broken off inside the piping. Robert explained clearly what he was doing and why he was doing it, and got the job done well.

Daniel from Chosen Rooter came out to do a sewer drain cleaning for us. Our little one had flushed some type of toy down the upstairs toilet. Daniel used a camera and a long snake to drag out whatever it was causing backup in our pipes. It was relatively quick and painless.

We are buying a condo and needed to have some plumbing work completed prior to closing. Daniel was polite and helpful each time I called. They had the work completed the very next morning!

I was connected to CR&P through my home warranty company for a leaking pipe in my new house. Moments before Jesus arrived, my garbage disposal failed spilling water all over my sink cabinet. And to top it all off, while testing for the leak, we found out the sink stopper in the leaky bathroom had also failed and couldn't hold water. Talk about a new home nightmare!

Chosen Rooter was great!! They were flexible with our appointment when we needed to change last minute unexpectedly. Nick came to take a look at the pipes in our shower which another plumber had told us needed to be fully replaced. Other Plumber said we needed to pull up our shower, go in through our downstairs neighbors ceiling and replace everything in there. It was going to be a major job that would be expensive, invasive, and inconvenient. Nick was able to really get in and snake it effectively and the drain is running like a dream now. We had a leak in our shower. I called CR&P and they showed up within the hour and had the issue fixed quickly and at a reasonable price. I will definitely be using them again next time something pops up at my house.

Emergency. It’s Sunday afternoon. Our holiday party guests were due at 3 pm. At 2 pm we found that our drains were clogged. Toilets overflowed. It could not have happened at a worse time. I went on-line and looked for the nearest rooter-plumber who could come out. Chosen was nearby and answered the phone. I could hear a child in the background. I explained the problem. “You have come to the right place. We will be there between 3 and 4.”

In the event, Ramon arrived at 3:30. He explained how he would investigate. When he determined the general location of the blockage, he set to work. By 5:30pm the blockage was cleared and we were “good to go”.

I give top marks to Chosen for their prompt response and top marks for Ramon to a job well done.

Here’s hoping I will not have to see Ramon professionals any time soon. But you can be sure I will call Chosen when the occasion arises.

I had my old water heater go out and with the help of Daniel, I decided to get a tankless hot water heater. Daniel was able to answer all of my questions as well as install it in a timely manner. I would recommend this company to anyone that was in the need of a plumber.

I hired a plumber from the company to clear a clogged sewer line. The tech was friendly and cleared the line in less than an hour. They were still thorough despite the speed, and my bathroom water is running much more efficiently. I’ll be calling again in the future if I need it.

The water heater specialist from CR&P gave us a free estimate and nailed the cost. He communicated clearly, responded to my concerns, and was a true professional. The shut off valve needed replacement, but the unit is in fairly good shape. Glad to have an honest plumbing service in the area.

We had our main sewer line break and send water back into our downstairs bathroom. Chosen Rooter was here within 10 minutes, scoped the line and found the tree roots that had broken the line. They came the next day for the sewer clean out. Trustworthy and great work.

We had a problem with our washing machine, but the main problem was with a clogged pipe through which water should go from the washing machine. As a result, I saw water pouring straight to the floor.

I had a really troublesome toilet clog I just couldn't clear on my own. It was already late afternoon and worried I'd have to wait a day or so to get professional help unclogging. Chosen Rooter was able to dispatch someone to my home within 20 minutes of my calling them. Chris the technician was great! Was able to unclog without having to remove the whole bowl. He was very thorough, tested flushing multiple times, once again before he left to make sure it was really cleared. Great service experience all around. I strongly recommend Chosen Rooter.

My basement has had problems for years with water backing up at least twice a year. Chosen installed some new piping and did a sewer cleanout. The water runs more efficiently than before, and I think the new pipes will perform better than the old plastic ones.

It took me a little bit longer than I expected to schedule an appointment but at the end was worth waiting.
My kitchen sink was clogged. Two Chosen Rooters plumbers did a great job cleaning the pipe. Now the kitchen sink is running smoothly. I’m very satisfy with their service!

The plumber came over an hour late to the window of time they told me. He then fixed the p-trap leak but did not fix and replace the drain plug. I called in to ask why and received an incredibly rude response from someone in their offices. Very argumentative and nasty. They basically told me it’s not their problem and they fixed what they were told to fix. Unacceptable on several levels. This is also the same problem they supposedly fixed last time they were out. Cannot recommend at all.

Plumbing repair costs are usually a wait and see game. But Chosen charged a flat rate for the service I requested. Keep it up!

We are super glad that we chose Chosen Rooter & Plumbing to fix our clogged toilet. Our service technicians Jesus and Kevin were super kind, professional, and patient. Our clogging issue is complicated as the drainage line in our apartment is non-standard and our toilet is a neorest, it is also urgent since water is leaking from the toilet base. Jesus and Kevin not only fixed our very complicated clogging issue, but also identified and fixed the water leakage issue due to how our toilet was originally incorrectly installed. We are super happy with this experience, and would highly recommend them!

Kitchen sink was backed up for about a week and Jesus of Chosen came through and stayed on the job until the clog was removed. He got rid of the years of gunk trapped in the pipes and was professional and on-point throughout the job. 10 out of 10 will use Chosen again!

My wife and I have been cleaning out the drain in our tub about twice a month with a little snake we bought on Amazon. When that no longer cut it, the technician from Chosen Rooter & Plumbing located the blockage then cleared the drain, and we haven’t had to manage it ourselves in months now. I had a leak from my pipes and i called a name brand plumber to come by. He took forever to get there and started telling me its going to cost over $1,000 because he would have to break in the wall and then move pipes etc. So i thought if i'm going to spend that kind of money i better call and get a second opinion.

My toilet was clogged completely, Ron fixed the problem in a minute. He also helped to fix my slow draining kitchen sink- this one bothered me for a long time, but he solved my problem in a very quick way. I appreciate it very much. Our garage flooded on a Sunday morning with a big football playoff game. I called three rooter services: one put me on hold for 5 min and didn't return, one could only send someone in the evening, Daniel showed up within a couple of hours. He spent the time needed to clear a difficult problem and diagnosed a broken sewer line. He had guys at my house at 7:30 the next morning (a holiday) to dig up and replace the line. They had our water flowing again by noon. The work was fast and of high quality. They were friendly, yet professional and explained what needed to be done.

I just purchased a new home. I returned from a short trip and my toilet wasn't working plus my garbage disposal was leaking. Yay. I called around to check prices at different places and I thought Daniel was really friendly and knowledgeable. I decided to go with Chosen Rooter & Plumbing because of his customer service. They sent someone out immediately too, and Ron was a pleasure. He ended up doing a lot of work (my request) and his customer service was also excellent. ONE STAR TOO MANY
Worst experience I've had with any home contracting services! I've been around the block owning a fixer-upper, you name it, I've probably hired a service for it. After my water heater broke I called this company to replace it. They took A WEEK just to show up with THE WRONG water heater, despite me sending the exact model I needed (they disregarded me telling me they know what they're doing). They told me they would need A SECOND WEEK to come back with the right one, for a modicum $2,400 (only for instalation, the water heater plus permits was to go out of my pocket)
TLDR: Stay away from this company, the prices are ridiculous and the customer service is non-existent.

My initial experience when I called was great because they were able to get out within a few hours on a Sunday to my tenants apartment in SF to take a look at a leak under the kitchen sink. They said they would charge $85 for an assessment and then give me an estimate for the repair and will apply the $85 towards the repair if I went with them. That sounded reasonable pricing wise. They discovered that the p-trap and the straight pipe going into the wall under the sink were corroded and needed to be replaced. They had the parts which were easily accessible from any hardware store and told me it would take less than 30 minutes to repair but they said it would cost $400. I was shocked at the price and when I told them that was very expensive they said it was because it was a Sunday. Who knows what it would have cost on a regular week day, I doubt it would have been much less. I feel like they took advantage of me knowing that I was an out of town landlord and that I couldn't leave my tenant with a leaking sink any longer and that I really had no other options and therefore price gouged me. I discussed this with them a few times but they wouldn't budge on the price. They had overall great reviews which is why I called them in the first place but I guess I didn't ready enough of the bad reviews to see that this is not an uncommon occurrence with them. I will likely not use them ever again. I have not heard anything from my tenant since then so I assume they successfully repaired the pipes under the sink and the leak so I will give them 2 starts. It was an easy job, however, and if I was in town I would have been able to do it myself.

I’m new to the area, so when I searched for a plumbing service near me, I didn’t know who to go with. I called Chosen Rooter to see about their rates for a faucet replacement, and the clerk asked a few questions and gave me an idea of what the service would involve. The plumber that installed the fixture offered a discount because I’m a new customer and gave me tips on preventing leaks on the faucet installed.

Excellent first point of contact (Sarah, by phone); honest appointment time follow-up; straightforward professional service with complete results; reasonable and transparent pricing; personable service from the mechanic, Randy, in that he explained what he was doing to diagnose how best to fix the problem (stopped up drain), and what he was doing step by step to accomplish the desired results. First contact to job finished all took place on a national holiday: phone call at 8:00 a.m. July 4, job completed 3:00 p.m.

Ron came to do the first assessment and the installation of our new water heater. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He was also understanding as we changed our mind on going from tankless to the standard tank style water heater. He was extremely accommodating. Daniel was also very helpful when we spoke to him on the phone and was able to fit us into the schedule ASAP. Would highly recommend.

I called a bunch of plumber services in the neighborhood to get a quote for my shower that was draining very slowly. I went with Chosen Rooter and Plumbing because of their initial quote of $150 - $250. They also advertised that they have a 15% discount on their yelp page. Because of this and the 5-star review, I scheduled for them to help fix my drain issue.

I rarely write any negative reviews, but I feel that everyone should WATCH OUT for this company because of how misleading they are with their customers.

The technicians showed up and fixed the drain in less than 15 minutes. I knew that this was going to be an easy job since the drain was not fully clogged. I thought the initial quote of $150 would be the price with the 15% discount.

The technicians told us the total would be $250. I was shocked and confused but did not want to argue with strange men in my house and would just bring this up to the manager. I paid the invoice and immediately tried to contact them to see why the price was so high.

I brought this up with the manager, Daniel, but he was not helpful and I had to message several times to get an actual response.

He told me that they charge per project and because they used a power snake, it cost more. He also mentioned that the 15% discount only applies to neighbors and that I didn't ask for the discount.

First of all, I live in San Francisco, so I am confused about how I am not considered a neighbor. Second of all, I did mention that I am calling from Yelp and the discount.

Daniel proceeded to tell me that it's so great that they charge per project because other companies charge per hour and the customer is usually milked like a cow per hour.

Overall, I would not recommend this company as they mislead their customers and do not actually use their advertised discounts. I am not entirely sure why they have a 5-star rating but I do know that some companies can pay for better reviews.

Daniel did an excellent job yesterday unclogging the blockage in the pipes under my kitchen sink. He was very quick and efficient and clean. He also saw to an extra job that needed attention. I wasn't sure he would do it as it was another job, but he very graciously agreed to do it for me. I would recommend Daniel's services to anyone!

Daniel at Chosen Rooter and Plumbing is great and finally got to the bottom of a leak from our breezeway into the garage that no one else seemed to be able to deal with. He replaced a bunch of wacky leaky pipe work super quickly and efficiently and even unclogged a sink while he was at it! He was able to come out right away and was super nice and professional, as was his partner. I would use him again in a heartbeat and definitely recommend!

Unclog drain doesn't exactly describe what these guys were able to do, where another company had failed. Thiago and Daniel located a blockage in a lateral section of drain pipe 20 feet below my kitchen sink. They accessed it from the ceiling in the garage, opened the pipe, and dug out what apparently was the dumping ground of garbage from a prior resident. Poor Thiago got a shower of dishwasher water that had been primed and sitting in my sink for several days. (Sorry, Thiago!) Appreciate you guys!!

His associate, Ron, who was on site doing most of the work, was also a delight to work with. He was friendly, funny, and the consummate professional. He made the actually day to day work a breeze. Read below for my exceptionally unfair experience with Chosen Rooter:

One of their technicians came over to my apartment to fix a clogged shower drain. He spent an hour trying to unclog it using a power snake, but ultimately was unable to. He said that there was a more serious issue than a simple drain clog, and that the only way to fix it was to bust a hole in our living room wall behind our sinks, install a clean out pipe, and use a larger power snake to clear the drain (this would've been WAY more expensive). He leaves, and I still have to pay him full price for his help.

The next day I call another plumber. He comes over and uses a power snake to clean the drain out in 15 minutes. Said it was one of the simplest jobs he's ever done, AND he charged me 60% of what Chosen Rooter charged me.

Obviously frustrated, I email Chosen Rooter asking if they can make this right... they ghost me (it's been 9 days since I sent the email). So my takeaways are:

1) Chosen Rooter is overpriced (don't let them tell you they're giving you a good deal, because that's what they said to me)
2) Chosen Rooter has inexperienced technicians
3) Chosen Rooter will not respond to emails unless it makes them money
4) There is a possibility that you pay full price (+the price of another plumber) for something that Chosen Rooter doesn't even fix

Seems there are a lot of good reviews on here, but based on my experience I would strongly recommend that whoever's reading this looks elsewhere for their plumbing needs.

This is the business that my home warranty company sends us to. We have used them twice, and I have been very impressed with the service both times. They were able to come out right away, they were on time, friendly, fast, courteous, answered questions and had the needed parts with them. I highly recommend this company!

We had a backed up toilet that I couldn't figure out the cause. Daniel arrived and was very friendly and professional. Daniel was able to determine the drain was full of roots, and he did a sewer drain cleaning to remove all the roots and get our toilet working properly. Great service, will use again.

I would give CR&P 10 stars for the service! I was lucky to find CR&P from their website and requested the service to resolve a clogged drain issue. Dannik helped me to resolve the issue and was available for the specific time that I requested. Ron from CR&P was very professional, wore a mask and cleaned the drain area after he used the snake. I really appreciated for a quick response time and for the ability to solve the drain problem on the same day. The CR&P staff is very professional, knowledgeable, and reliable.

We had an alarm from SF Water about sudden unusually high water usage. CR&P was assigned to service our home by our home warranty. I spoke with Daniel and he dispatched technician right away. Ron the technician came on time, checked everything very carefully, didn't find any leaks, the problem seems due to malfunctioned water reader. Overall, excellent service, professional efficient. would call them again.

Charged $275 for 15 minutes of work on a simple fix for the toilet — technician was nice enough but would not recommend for small tasks!

My water heater went bad and flooded my garage. Daniel came in for the water heater replacement. He was professional, courteous, and funny. He got the job done and I have hot water again.
