Would recommend working with Lutz Plumbing. I was able to work through the problem by email and had a tech out in a few days. The tech walked me through the repair and was in and out in about an hour.

I’ve never used a plumber a great as Lutz. It’s never fun to need a repair, but Lutz made it so easy it was a real pleasure. Great job guys, and thank you for the great work.

I want to start by saying, this took me awhile to write due to my eyesight….
After many months of dealing with two bad toilets and plumbers with no idea why, Kohler had Phil call me. I informed him that I lived 3 hrs one way and understood it would take sometime to have someone come out.

We moved into a rental that had an issue that made the shower unusable - After waiting a different plumber who was completely unresponsive the homeowner reached out to Phil and he came the next day! Impressive response time. He was responsible with COVID safety. Thank you Phil!!

I had a wall hung toilet that was very badly installed. I asked several plumbers about fixing it and they all declined. The last one suggested I call Lutz. Phil at Lutz came out promptly and said he thought they could fix it. Plumber Jacob came out on schedule and redid the in wall installation solidly and at the correct height. We fixed the wall and Jacob came out the next week and hung the toilet. We had been worried that our wall would not hold the hung toilet, but with Jacob’s installation and instructions on fixing the wall, it is great. A+!

They replaced a steam generator in my shower. Dan did an excellent job on a timely basis. He had a great attitude. He reviewed options with me because it was a replacement generator from a different manufacturer and finished the job.

Lutz plumbing knew exactly what I needed to repair my Mr. Steam unit and was able to correct a couple of things that the plumber had installed incorrectly. It makes a big difference when you are working with a pro.

Phil replaced a 10+ year old Mr. Steam unit with the latest version. The new unit unfortunately was faulty and had to be replaced after a few weeks, but this was not his fault. Phil went above and beyond to fix the manufacturer issue by ordering the replacement and installing the new unit without any stress put on us. We have hydronic heating, which is not very common. It has been challenging over the years to find contractors who know enough about this type of heating to perform maintenance and repair work. Lutz Plumbing was able to assess the entire system and make a number of recommendations that they were confident would solve the problems. They completed the work, which included replacing the water source with a more efficient option, as well as switching out the old fans and sensors in all 9 wall units. The system is now running perfectly for the first time in years. They were COVID-conscious as they moved about the house, and always cleaned up and put everything back in place before they left for the day. I would absolutely recommend Lutz for any work on a hydronic heating system, and I will probably use them for all my plumbing needs in the future.

Our new bathroom had a Kohler new model toilet. It began running. After trying to fix it myself, then getting the contractor to try with some replaced Kohler parts unsuccessfully, I got The Lutz contact from the pros at Kohler. Lutz took over the issue from the Build.com (Ferguson) people. When the right parts arrived Brandon from Lutz Plumbing arrived at the appointment time. He was polite and knew what he had to do. It wasn’t easy but he fixed it and left me his number to confirm that there was no further issue. He called later to check up. Great service. Polite clean and professional. I was he tting ready to go on vacation when all of a sudden I noticed that there was water under my sink. The garbage disposal was leaking like a sieve. I totally freaked out and called Lutz plumbing. They arrived within hours, had all the parts they needed, and put in the new garbage disposal incredibly fast. Unfortunately, it was at this time that they discovered that the pipe coming out from the wall was leaking. This was not gonna be easy to fix but tPhil was so knowledgeable and professional that the next day he solved the problem and everything was in working order once again. I can’t tell you how grateful I am. I was also grateful that the price was incredibly reasonable. Another plumber would’ve cost me a mint. Lutz is the best.

We had a plumbing issue with our THG thermostatic valve that lasted 4+ years until Phil from Lutz Plumbing came out and solved our issue. Three different plumbers came out and had no idea how to resolve the issue. We had no cold water in our masterbath shower for 4+ years since no one knew how to work on THG. I can't say enough about Phil from Lutz Plumbing. Phil is extremely competent, talented, very punctual and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He was very patient and methodical in diagnosing our problem with our THG thermostatic valve. I can't thank Phil enough for resolving our THG issue! We can now take a hot or cold shower without going into the garage to adjust our hot water heater. Our water pressure is incredible. Our shower no longer dribbles water it actually sprays. If you have a plumbing issue or want to avoid a plumbing issue, hire Phil and he will save you extreme headaches from the beginning. Phil will be our go to plumber from now on. I've had Phil and Vern out on multiple occasions to work on our steam shower (the steam manufacturer contracts with Lutz for service and warrantee issues) and they're the best. Their communication and dedication really stand out. They take pride in their work and in making their customers happy. For example whenever they come out for a repair, Phil will text me a few days after just to check in on the work and how the steam device is doing. If there are any issues they're quick to work with the manufacturer directly to troubleshoot and get to the bottom of things. I highly recommend them.

Lutz Plumbing recently repaired my Thermasol Steam generator and they did a great job. Everything from diagnosing the issue, to working w/ Thermasol on the warranty to installing the new unit went very smoothly and Vern was fantastic on site. He was extremely professional, provided a lot of great information and did great work. Highly recommend this company for your steam shower needs.

Worked with them (phil and Jacob) on our tankless water heater which was throwing an error code and turning off every couple days. We originally called Ace which had strong reviews and ratings but the experience was extremely difficult - first, they said someone would come that day and then no one ever came. I was then the one to follow up and they said someone would come the next day. Second, two different people came on-site two different times and neither could figure out the problem or even the slightest idea of what the problem was. Both said they needed to talk to the manufacturer. That makes sense but found it odd that two different people from the same place came only to say they needed to do the same thing which neither seemingly ended up doing. They also insisted they needed to come onsite to have any sense which turns out not to have been true. At this point i realized we needed to find someone else and hopefully an experienced team that could help us quickly — having no hot water is a big problem! The Lutz team asked for info about the problem before coming onsite (which is the efficient thing to do) and was able to discuss possible diagnoses with me before coming onsite. They clearly explained what they needed to do once onsite and how much different solutions would cost. They deployed someone from their team very quickly and the problem was solved in a couple of days and the in person work was efficient and didn’t waste our time. Phil was also extremely responsive and easy to coordinate with. Additionally, i was worried about the color of the water after the solution was put in place and phil responded right away explaining why the discoloration happened, how to get rid of it, and he sent someone out to help get rid of it that day. Would definitely recommend and plan to call them again for any issues in the future. Only thing they could improve is their front office was slow to connect me with phil. Once working with phil, things were easy but i had to call twice and tell their front office the same thing before getting in touch with him.

My introduction to Lutz Plumbing was for an inspection of a jacuzzi tub. They arrived on time, were prepared for the appointment, knowledgeable about the tub, and made the appropriate decision for me and the manufacturer. On a follow up call for service, 2 years later, they provided excellent service by intervening in my behalf with the manufacturer. They determined that my tub was still under warranty (the manufacturer said it wasn’t), instructed me on getting a refund for the part I purchased (and didn’t need) and, instructed me how to get help in fixing my tub. This all happened during the pandemic.

The Lutz plumbing team was a pleasure to work with both from a professional execution as well as a friendly attitude perspective. Phil and his team are outstanding! I ran into an issue with my Duravit bidet that could not be resolved locally. Phil came to my rescue, not only following up with the manufacturer and keeping me in touch about the warranty, but also carving out a day for his team to come to me (I’m in sacramento) To make the repair. They showed up when promised, at the time promised, and made the necessary repairs to get me back in business. It’s rare to find people in business with Phil’s ethics and focus on customers. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

I called Toto Customer Service to find out if they can recommend someone to come out and take look at the problem on our Toto Neorest toilet in SF bay area. Since it is under the warranty, they assigned Lutz Plumbing to work on it. Their response was very prompt and provided a great services. Phil seems like very knowledgeable on Toto toilet. Neorest has many features require a lot of plumbing and electronic technology skills. He contacted Toto headquarters and provide the solutions while he was at our house. Very dependable and pleasure to work with them.

I bought a Kohler intelligent toilet and it stopped flushing after couple of months. Called Kohler and they recommended Lutz plumbing. The whole process was very seamless. So I’ve used Lutz plumbing on numerous occasions and I have nothing but great things to say. My most recent experience was with my Kohler Numi toilet that sprung a leak. When I called Kohler all they wanted to do was charge me 700 for a part and good luck installing. I knew I was out of warranty. I called Lutz (Phil) plumbing and not only did they coordinate the whole thing they got Kohler to pay for the part! And this was the second time Lutz did this for us. I would never use anyone else in San Francisco.

I cannot say enough positive things about Lutz Plumbing! Long story short, my repair need was fairly urgent and I must have contacted 3-4 plumbers before I found Lutz. It was super depressing... All of them seemed totally unconcerned and said they'd fit me in when they could (Often 2-3 weeks later). I get that everyone is busy but it costs nothing to at least act like you care. Then I found Phil and Lutz Plumbing. He not only took the time to fully understand my issue but also offered his professional opinion around a potential diagnosis and possible solutions. He then reached back out to me later that day to say he would fit me in for an appointment just a few days later. Jacob, the plumber who showed up, was equally professional, knowledgeable, and demonstrated sincere concern. He fixed the problem quickly which was a huge relief. Lutz takes the apprehension and guesswork out of calling a plumber. They're transparent in their explanation of scope of work, timely in their responses, and extremely knowledgeable about their craft and products. Throughout the past 30 years Lutz has been our choice for plumbing repairs and updates in our condominium. Most recently they completed bathroom updates that included new shower installation and new toilet. They also just replaced an outdated furnace in our central heating system. In addition to their high quality work, they have their own show room that provides excellent guidance in appropriate product selection. The biggest advantage to this is that the team in the field is well versed in the products available in the showroom allowing for seamless installation when items are being replaced.
Pricewise, Lutz might not be the lowest bidders, but for our household, they have been one of the best values in terms of quality workmanship, timely service, and open communication. We plan to keep using them for all our plumbing needs.

Had two stream shower control panels replaced. Scheduling was easy, had to reschedule and that was easy as well. Plumber actually came a week earlier than we rescheduled when an opening came available. Polite, professional, thorough, & knowledgeable. Would definitely use Lutz Plumbing again.

Fantastic Service experience with Lutz! We had a defective Koehler steam unit that was installed by a third party contractor. The unit was under warranty and Lutz Plumbing is who Koehler contracts with for repairs. Phil from Lutz took the lead on this and sent out Vern for an evaluation. Koehler required 2 different repair attempts before they replace the unit. Phil scheduled both of those and Vern courtesy called before arriving each time. Koehler finally agreed to replace the unit but due to COVID they had no units available and we had to wait months before one was available. Phil kept track of it the whole time and I never had to call Koehler. He alerted us when it arrived and sent Vern out one more time to install it. I couldn't be more happy with their service.

Phil and Dan are great. Phil helped me find the right faucet and water filter for my kitchen and also helped me order an obscure part for a bathroom sink from Italy. It took several weeks to arrive (thx Covid), but Phil was great at texting to keep me updated on the arrival. Dan did the installation and did a flawless job.

We used Lutz Plumbing for two projects at our office near Union Square: a Grohe Blue sparkling/still tap, and two Toto Washlets.

We have nothing but good things to say about both Lutz and the products!

Phil is very responsive and easy to talk with. He's also creative, and worked with us to find a way that we could install the washlets without opening the wall or shutting off the water in our building.
