Best New Water Heater Installation in Houston TX

PROS: Available usually with short notice. Local. On time or early about 40% of the time. Good work. Technicians we've dealt with have been professional and nice.CONS: Extremely HIGH PRICES. For comparable parts and services they were significantly more than anyone else in the area.The first time I used them the tech came out to look at a leak was on time, nice, professional, and provided suggestions free of charge and we were able to fix it ourselves. I didn't hesitate to use them again.The second time was for a hot water heater issue. They charged over $600 to replace a part and took about 1.5 hours to replace it. I looked later and the replacement part only cost about $80. Approximately $500 in labor for 1.5 hours?The third time I used them the previous part quit working 6 weeks after it was installed. They quoted $2200-$2800 to replace the hot water heater, we complained and they dropped that to $1850 (which was still $350-$450 above everyone else for the same unit).The second two times we used them the technician was pretty late each time, and the revised quote came 2 hours after I had already been able to get a quote from several other companies, schedule a technician and actually have the unit installed.I probably would've originally paid the $1850 if that had been the initial price - good guys, good work ok to pay a little more - but the first quote was so high and the previous part & labor was so expensive. We really felt like we were being gouged and are pretty disappointed.

Their service was excellent, and their cost was very reasonable. They returned to the house to fix an issue I had despite the fact that it was not a result of something they did. Frank, thank you!

We went thru our home warranty service for my 81 year old disabled mother. The technician Steve came to the property looked at the water heater literally a couple minutes and said she should call someone else to service it because he would need to do too many modifications. He then quoted her 3k. if he were to do the work. (Why assume she did not have the resources to pay.) ?? Then he left the property leaving no invoice or itemization for his quoted charge.I called the home warranty company to verify & they were unable to give us a quote because they did not have the diagnosis from Mr. Rooter. In fact they asked how could they quote u without forwarding us the diagnosis for coverage.I called the office and spoke with Kayla & request they fwd the diagnosis to the warranty co to get an accurate quote and to also fwd to me After the 3rd request it was sent and the total cost including uncovered items (mods/permit) was $1800! Where did Steve w/Mr Rooter come up with $3k?! What if my mother would have paid it day of service? Would they have refunded the difference? In addition I requested a personal copy of the invoice with diagnostic codes and permit and modifications needed… it took 1 WEEK to get it. Just the invoice….Overall my families experience was awful on customer service alone.I asked for the mgr & was told he’s the owner and he doesn’t come every day but Kayla would msg him to call me & he may take 48 hours to respond Ok??‍♀️I am a business owner & I immediately recognize poor service. They had not secured the job yet & the service was substandard, I can only imagine what it would have been 3k later.??????

The owner and the technician (Chris) both went above and beyond to provide an excellent service in replacing my water heater. Excellent in every way. I highly recommend their services.

We have a relatively new home (under 5 years) and signed a maintenance agreement with Abacus to keep your system in good condition. The first 2 times they were out, I received bids for thousands of dollars in additional services I didn't request. More recently, we were told our blower needed cleaning. The technician even showed us a photo. They gave us an expensive bid that did NOT include cleaning the blower. (That wasn't made clear until we specifically asked what the bid included.) We got a second opinion. The second technician also took a photo, and our blower was clean.

SERVICE TECHNICIANS,RENNY AND TOMAS, CAME TO MY HOME LAST WEEK TO REPLACE A GAS LINE TO OUR GARAGE APARTMENT. THEY WERE VERY POLITE AND FRIENDLY. THEY WORKED QUIETLY AND ALMOST WITHOUT ANY BREAKS. FINISHED IN ONLY 5 HOURS. WHEN THEY LEFT, THE AREA WAS TOTALLY CLEANED UP. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TDT FOR PLUMBING REPAIRS.
