Best Residential Electrical in Jacksonville FL

We've used American Electrical about half a dozen times over the years for residential work, from changing a few outlets to a full rewiring of our kitchen. They are great - always responsive, show up on time, and do great work. Prices are very reasonable. Josh is great! He helped us by offering suggestions during our kitchen remodel. We'll continue to use them in the future.

Our water pump stopped working after our area flooded. It appeared to be an electrical issue so I called David Gray on a Saturday at 5:30pm. Tim, the technician that came to our house showed up within an hour and a half of me calling and got right to work. He diagnosed the problem and had it fixed quickly. I highly recommend Tim and this company!

Job quoted @ 595.00. Took the electrician 1-1/2 hours. One would think the company would make some concession concerning the quote. Not so, they would not accommodate any reduction of job cost. That equals $397.00 per hour. My opinion is to look elsewhere for a qualified electrician that conducts business with integrity.

This is the first time I have used American Electric. I had an emergency situation with a few outlets in my home. Wesley and DJ were the electricians to show up. I really appreciate how quickly they arrived at my house. I explained the situation to both of them and they were in and out in an hour. I was very pleased with the professionalism, willingness to resolve the issues quickly and at a reasonable cost. I will call American Electric of Jacksonville for all of my future electrical needs!! Service of installation was very professional. But the first thing I asked them before sliding the new oven into place was to give me a chance to clean where the old one had been because there were splatters of food on all the walls and the floor was very dirty. This was years of accumulation of food, grease, and dirt. Unfortunately they put the oven back without letting me clean. Almost in tears, I went to take a nap. And voila, when I woke up, my husband informed me the gentlemen had came back and got on their knees and did all the cleaning. This was an especially kind act since I am recovering from a serious concussion. A great big thunderbolt to you, BOLT ELECTRIC!

Arranged an appointment for today between 11 and 1pm. Went so far as to cancel a Doctor's appointment so that I would be here. At about 12:50 pm I received a TEXT telling me that they needed to reschedule due to the technician having a family emergency. I guess they only have one technician. Basically they stiffed me and wasted my day. I strongly recommend that you use any other electrical contractor that you can find. Their attitude was extremely indifferent and unprofessional. No sense of concern. Takes unreliable to a whole new level. I am sure that they will post some heart wrenching response. But, excuses are a dime a dozen. Unbelievable.

I don’t know what their work is like for homes, but they are definitely not qualified for commercial at any level. I am a fair business owner and professional, but they should have never accepted this “gig”. Not employees fault.

Cortez electric is family owned and operated and they consistently operate in a first class manner. They are always courteous and respectful in their work, as well as thorough and diligent in completing work to the customer’s satisfaction. We plan on using Cortez electric into the future!

Just 2 days ago we had an electrical fire at our light pole. Almost the entire pole went up in flames. We started calling contractors and Thompson Electric was the 1st one we called but they were unable to come out until the next morning. We did find another contractor that came out that day and was able to give us a quote. They told us that it would be Friday before they could get started. After Thompson gave us their quote which was just slightly lower than the 1st company they asked me how soon did I want to get the job done. I said as soon as possible and they said they could start that day. They got the job. They finished the job today and I don't know if they had some pull with JEA but amazingly JEA arrived just about 2 hours before Thompson finished and got the electric line back up. The last part of the job was having the meter installed and around 8pm JEA showed up to complete that. So just around 60 hours from the Thompson quote we had brand new electrical service and that included the pole having to be relocated due to the old one not being in code now. Thompson exceeded our expectations. The staff was super nice and professional.

The crew was on time, very nice and did great work. Would definitely recommend them.

A very good electrical contractor. They treat their employees well. I highly recommend them and I worked for them in the past so I can honestly say they do things right. I have not been coerced or enticed into writing this review. They genuinely care about their workers and they have very qualified electricians.

Came when promised and helped rapidly restore our house after water damage

Paul was very quick to get an issue resolved that we were dealing with. Definitely my go to for any electrical needs.

The previous owners of my house did not wire in the ceiling lights, which made me have to literally use the breaker to turn the lights on and off in the back part of the house. I was recommended to Lighthouse by Petra and am so glad I was. The guys came out and did a great job. I had a few other electrical issues that they fixed as well. Very professional and organized company!

I called ASE for emergency electrical repair after hours. The technician arrived well within the time frame estimated and was very friendly and professional. He inspected inside the house, the meter, the control panel and the outside wires. The ultimate issue was with the outside wires, which he couldn't fix (JEA's responsibility). He charged us a very fair price for coming out so late. Thank you ASE! I will be calling back if needed!

Great company, very friendly and helpful

Jamil did an AWESOME job. I was upset when he first came due to the Home warranty company I have taking a month to get someone out to my house. But Jamil definitely came in fixed everything and made me extremely happy as a client. I will definitely use this company again just outside of the warranty company. I wish I could do 10 stars ❤️
