Wesley and team did a wonderful job of installing a new electrical outlet. Because our house is older, there were some minor challenges, but they made things very, very easy.

They showed up on time and were efficient, communicative, and courteous. I can't recommend them enough.

I contacted American Electric of Jacksonville to hang crystal chandeliers in 2-Story areas of our new home. Not only did they get it done with amazing quality, there was a considerable amount of troubleshooting which they took in stride. They spent the time to get everything perfect which required hanging these heavy, massive chandeliers, and then placing hundreds of individual crystals. They treated the installation as if they were doing it in their house.

They were also incredibly easy to work with and really well priced. I can't recommend them enough. This company will be my go to for years to come.

I was referred by a relative and the service from Appointment to Install was prompt and professional. Everyone from dispatch to electrician was friendly and the results of the installation of lighting fixtures looks amazing. The chandelier was a difficult install but it was handled with no problem whatsoever. The kitchen is a great improvement from the previous 4' basic ballast that originally came with the home. Thanks to all at American Electric. I will be calling again for any electrical needs for my home.

I had a hard time finding a company to install this light. Most electric companies in the area didn't know how to perform this type of service. The electricians that they sent had experience doing this type of installation, and were patient to explain how the entire setup would work.

Chris and Travis came out to fix a fixture I had attempted to install myself. They were efficient and knowledgeable, running through all the possible solutions until finding the one that worked. The office staff was also pleasant and very helpful with getting me a same day appointment.

We started with requesting service via online. American Electric left us a voicemail within 24 hours; we replied after hours and their answering service promptly took a message, after which we scheduled for service. We were surprised to get an appointment at 0730. Wesley and Michich (apologize if misspelled) arrived early and waited until 0730 to knock on door. Both were courteous and professional. They reviewed the work to be done and got to it. Once complete, they asked if I wanted them to take any of the boxes or old fixtures, and swept up. Great job, thank you. (Suggestion: recommend showing the client fixtures are operational - although in my case I got to it before they probably would have.)

American Electric of Jacksonville is the electric company to use. I am a commercial painting contractor, and this is the company that is usually on the job too. I know they also do residential because I had two issues at my house, and they easily fixed them. Wes is very knowledgeable. Ask for him.

I had great service today from Wayne & Marcio doing a service upgrade for a new appliance. They were knowledgeable, prompt, efficient and respectful.

We have lived in our house for nearly ten years. The previous owners were a bit of DIYers that didn't really DIY very well... I finally pulled the trigger and had American Electric come out to do some updates that were long overdue. Wesley and Michiah arrived right on time, and were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. They were able to put in 6 new wafer lights for me in my living room and kitchen, and corrected a couple of bad splices that they identified which were not part of the original job. I'll rest easier tonight knowing that we have the wiring done correctly, and I can't believe I waited this long to give them a call. I have a few more projects on the list and I'll be calling American Electric to do those for me as well. Thank you again Wesley and Michiah, you both did an excellent job.

I had used another company previously and had a bad experience with them sending someone that actually messed up some wiring that involved a couple fixtures. Long story short nice guy but he didnt know really what he was doing. A jack of all trades person. I got on line and found American Electric and read some reviews and thought I would try them. This work involved installing 1 cieling fan and trouble shooting GFI plugs that were not working and having no power to one of the bathrooms. They looked at the combo of switches that the other guy tried to upgrade to dimer switches and they fixed that problem quickly. They also looked at some outdoor color spot lights that wouldnt shut off and was a great help there. Westley & Michiah , from the moment they walked in the door it was game on, lisening.

I have little experience with this company, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. The receptionist had a bad attitude and when I asked for a quote she abruptly told me that they don’t quote their work and that it’s $145 an hour plus parts. First off if you are having a bad day check it at the door, covid era or not, customer service come first. Especially when the customer is being nice and asking how you are doing today. Secondly I’ve spoken with a few electricians today and all of them all willing and happy to give quotes on the work that I am asking for. After reading other bad reviews I am actually happy that you guys showed your true colors in the first two minutes so I don’t have to waste anymore of my time. Hope you have a great rest of your day.

Update to the owner: You can use that excuse only so many times. When I am done with a call and then turn around to leave a review on the link I called from I’m not making a mistake. When speaking to the office the ladies were very friendly and gave excellent details of costs. The gentleman that did our work were very professional, did an excellent job, very timely, hard working and very knowledgeable. We will definitely be calling them again in the future.

My experience started with the replacement of a damaged power plug and quickly expanded to several projects on my list - replacement of light fixtures, ceiling fan, and smoke detectors. I was looking for an electrician to put a outlet in my wall for a television I am going to hang on wall. I didn't want the power cable to show because my existing outlet was near the baseboard of the wall. I called American Electric and from the moment they I made contact with them they were extremely courteous and professional. When the technicians came to my home they were once again extremely courteous, professional, knowledgeable and HONEST. They were diligent workers practiced social distancing, got a clear understanding of what I needed done, explained in detail how they could do what I needed and then in 20 minutes had completed the job perfectly. Then to top it all off, they were reasonably priced. I had called a few other company's and they were literally quoting me DOUBLE for the work that I needed done. So needless to say I am so grateful I kept searching until I found American Electric. I would recommend contacting American Electric for all of your electric wants, needs or projects. Wesley was my electrician who arrived on time and installed two ceiling fans within an hour. He provided excellent customer service explaining how the ceiling fans would operate with the light switches and remote controls; he offered feedback and estimates on how long it would take to install side lights outside of our garage and was just an overall polite individual. American Electric was the only company that I contacted requesting to have ceiling fans installed and I am glad that I chose to select them as my electrical company as I will be contacting them for more projects in the future. They arrived when they said they would; they acted and were dressed professionally, they listened as I explained my specific needs, and the electricians gave recommendations which were reasonable and improved upon what I had asked for (ultimately increasing my overall satisfaction with their end result). The team of two worked a full 8-hour shift and lastly (and most important to most) I was charged exactly what I was told and expected to pay. I was happy to have professionals that worked efficiently, and knew what they were doing. I will be hiring them again on another job.

With that said, people who hire them need to listen to their recommendations (they are trying to save you money). For starters, when they say to buy the stuff you want installed ahead of time; do it. They time it takes them to go get it if they don't have it in their truck is $$$/hour they aren't actively working on your job/needs. They day they arrived, I stayed home and made several runs to Home Depot to get parts. I got exactly what I wanted, and they were able to keep working while I went to the store. As a licensed Mechanical PE (Professional Engineer), I'd be happy to have them on any job site I was engineer on.

I recently had some work done in my kitchen and used American Electric. Everyone from the office staff to the men working in my home were polite and very helpful. All around great experience. The scheduling team was responsive to my timing needs to install a chandelier. The install team was punctual and very attentive to details to make sure the ceiling had no marks and all worked before they left. Very satisfied.

As a Network Engineer we always need electrical work done to keep the Internet up and running. With that, one of my clients always uses American Electric so we hired them to expand an electrical segment for a new UPS deployment. They gave me a quote that was within budget, we set a time that would work along with our tear out for the expansion, and everything was completed more smoothly than I have never seen from any other contractor. I know that my my client has worked with them in the past with positive results; however, with working with American Electric on this project for this client. They have gained my trust to the extent that I would recommend them for any IT Contractor needing electrical work performed on site!! American Electric has completed several projects for me over the course of 15 years. Their work has always been good and reliable; exceeding my expectations. The electricians who have come to my home have been polite, knowledgeable and competent. I highly recommend this company.

Not enjoying my experience with this business so far. I had two men come out last week and look around my house for two hours, just to be able to tell me they have a good idea of what the problem is, but they need a tool that is back at the office and someone will reach out to me Monday to come out and finish the repairs. After no word on Monday and the majority of Tuesday I called shortly before 4 on Tuesday and was told by their answering service the office was closed, despite their website and Google page stating they are open until 5. I was told my message would be passed along and I'd receive a call today. I waited until 3 and again got no call. I called and once more got the answering service, who told me the office closes at 3. So far I have paid $300 to be told they think they know what the problem is and have had more conversations with their answering service than the actual company.

I have been around in the Riverside area since the 90s and have seen American Electric service the print shop I worked at. So when it came time for me to get some electrical work done at home I called American Electric. I received a quick quote and a pretty fast appointment. Hired American electric to do the wiring for a bathroom addition. Wes and Gilmore performed the work. They were there at the time they said they would be and were efficient about their work. Cleaned up after themselves and were polite and easy to get along with. They definitely wanted to make sure I was happy . If I was the owner I would pay them more or enough to keep them around. Employees make a company and a company is only as strong as its weakest employee. I’ve always heard.The price was fair in my eyes. I would recommend them to others.

After ordering Legrand Adorne Wifi outlets/switches from Lowes, I called American Electric to install them. I bought just about every type of switch they had - lighted, dimmer, pop out you name it and Billy had no issues installing all of them. They were so friendly and helpful (when I wanted to add more) and worked with me when I went to get more parts. I was very excited when my back order finally arrived after 3 months of waiting (I guess these things are really popular) and the office had no problem scheduling my visit. They called to say they were on their way, they were prompt and courteous, cleaned up the mess (they installed stuff all over the house). I feel like I made friends with both the office and the installers. Of course my outlets look amazing and I love that I can program them to turn on (or off) automatically or with Amazon Alexa. What a great experience - more than I could have hoped for.

Matt was a great guy to work with and did a great job wiring our house. We had so many questions and he was there every step of the way. From start to finish, Matt and his team kept the worksite clean and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. My service person was Wes he is awesome I would highly recommend him an American electric to anyone and if I could give more than five stars I would give it a great experience my electrical work is very old along with the house and the previous electricians were on able to even diagnose the problem it took Wesley no time to do this he is efficient he is very good at what he does he takes his time and he make sure that he’s right so there’s no wasted time so you don’t have to pay for wasted time every minute he’s here he’s doing something just a wonderful wonderful person. He is also quick. He informs you of every step he is planning to get your input. This company and Wesley are A+

I just wanted to say how impressed I was with American Electric. The crew they sent out was right on time, and honestly, could not have been any better! They were very friendly and very efficient. I highly recommend them. If you are in need of electrical work, look no further!

The guys arrived promptly and assessed the work quickly. They were to install an outdoor 4 outlet GCFI in my back yard. They did a fantastic job and were quick about completing the job in about 2.5 hours. Cost was very reasonable.

FYI for those looking- Not doing boat lift electrical work at this time.

I called around to get a price on an outside outlet to be put in by my pool. I talked to a lady that answered the phone for American Electric. She told me it would be $85 an hour, and then they charged by the quarter hour, plus parts. There is a minimum of 1 hour. I thought this was fair and and made an appointment for a Thursday. She said someone will call and come afternoon. Thursday came and nobody showed or called. I called the office at 3:30 and asked if someone was coming. The same lady told me that she had my appointment down for Friday morning the next day. I told her No, that is not what was said, but there are miscommunications that happen and we will see them in the morning. A guy called me at 7:30 AM and showed up at 8. The two gentlemen were professional and did a good job installing the outlet where I wanted it. It took them about an 1 hour and 20 minutes.(Mind you, I had an estimate from another Electrical company that came out the day I made the appointment for $240.) I was figuring it would be $85 for an hour and if it went long maybe $120-$150 for labor and parts and I would save with this company. The head electrician handed me the bill and it was for $350. $315 of it was for labor. I asked him how he came to that figure. He said they start charging when they make the call they are coming and travel to the appointment. He also said that the cost goes up for a 2 man crew. I told him I did not ask for a 2 man crew and I was quoted for $85 and hour. I also did not understand why I was being asked to pay for their travel and it should have been 1.75 hours not 2. He said he has a chart and that was the cost for the job. NO WAY I should be paying for travel and they FLAT OUT LIED about the cost per hour. DONT USE THESE CLOWNS!!! Its a scam. Very disappointed.

All employess were respectful, on-time, polite, detailed, reliable orgainized, ready to complete work when called upon. After completion of the job I only had two items on the punch list which was not something American Electric did. The electricians arrived promptly, switched several lights from globes to can lights, and installed new florescent lights plus the associated ballast. They were pleasant, efficient, and cleaned up after their work - on 12' ladders by the way! A job well done by very courteous workers!

Unbelievable story, and I’m blown away so I wanted to share. At home this morning waiting on service. Electrician was late so thought I’d call to double check. They were responding to an emergency at another site, but unfortunately had lost my number and couldn’t get a hold of me. I was shocked at first, realizing that they weren’t even going to call me! I’m deploying in a few days, so when asked if I could reschedule, I didn’t see a great time for me to be here and get this done for my family. Disappointed as I was, I intended to look for service elsewhere until they called me back and said they felt so awful that they wanted to provide me the service for free! Again I was shocked, but this time by their extreme generosity, humbleness, and support for the military. Needless to say, they deserve more than 5 stars. Thank you!

Do not use these people!!!!!! Unreliable. We called and made an appointment two days ago. They gave us a two hour window period 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.. My husband took off from work to meet them. At 1:30 p.m. no phone call-nothing. So my husband called them. They said they would have someone call us back. Guess what no one called us back, so my husband finally called again. This lady took his phone number and said she would call him back. She did call him back but to tell him that they would not be able to keep the appointment. We understand things do not always go as planned, but call your customer and let them know. WE WILL NEVER USE THEM. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS.

They were able to add an outlet we needed for a new piece of equipment in a very short time frame. The arrived on time and got the work done quickly. The left the jobsite clean like they were never there, with the exception of the new outlet.

Ethan And Richard came to do initial startup on my new Generac whole house generator. But before that could happen the secondary electrical panel had to be moved to the main panel. There were two separate panels on different lines and the generator was only connected to the main panel. So to get those circuits to be operable when the generator was on, they had to be moved to the main panel. So there were 9 circuits that had to be moved to provide GFI, lights and electrical outlets throughout the house. Ethan provided excellent service explaining what he was doing and how it was going to work, while Richard set up the generator for its initial run. Everything went smoothly and in a few hours all the circuits were operable. With a full load of every thing on in the house, except the heating circuits, we were operating at 50% of capacity. They set up the mobile link so that I could monitor the generator from my smart phone and get notices of needed maintenance or any other problems with the generator. Excellent service and all done within budget.
