I was very pleased with the service I received. I called Roto-Rooter on my way home in Chicago and scheduled an appointment. When I pulled into my driveway less than a hour later, a plumber was already there waiting. The young man, Jonathan, was very professional and courteous. He quickly assessed my plumbing problem and explained what needed to be done. He patiently answered all of my questions and finished the job sooner than expected. First Chicago Plumbing replaced the faucets in two bathrooms and the kitchen and also replaced the diverter in the bathtub. Eugene and the gentleman with him (I don't recall his name) were very professional and very nice. Eugene took the time to explain everything to me and answered any questions I had, even after the job was completed. Eugene even checked on our hot water heater and gave us an estimate to replace it when the time comes (which will likely be in the next few months!) He will definitely be the person I call!! I highly recommend First Chicago Plumbing for all your plumbing needs.

The plumbers were quick, efficient, and exceedingly helpful and professional. They coordinated with our building's water shut off schedule. Rob was very knowledgeable on the phone and his office was responsive and flexible regarding the appointment time. Great service. Hope I don't have to call again soon, but will definitely be calling them if I need anything in the future.

Edited to add that I also hired an electrician and carpenter through Rob West, and they were both punctual and efficient. They did a great job on replacing fixtures, installing switches, and building and installing a custom barn door. They were on time, tidy, and did a great job very quickly. Definitely recommend their services as well.

Recommend Go-Rooter for everyone to use. I had a leaking toilet issue in the rental place and I called Go-Rooter. Alex, the plumber, gave a quick call back and provided me his availability for the same day. The communication was efficient and easy. During the work, he provided me the timely update on the work via phone when I couldn't be there. He also sent the photos of the clean up and the root cause of the problem as I requested. The entire process was smooth and clear. The charge is also flat rate based on the work.

Jay and Jr. came to the house to detect the source of a leak. They removed a small portion of the ceiling in the basement and quickly identified the issue. Initially I thought it might be a leaky sink which was backing up, it was not. It was the toilet. Jay quoted a price for the toilet and to also rout out the sink. As it turned out, the sink didn’t need routing, just a stopper clog, simple. Jay removed the toilet, cleaned out the old, re-installed the bolts and reseated the toilet. Unfortunately it didn’t work. Made some adjustments, no go. The solution was to replace the original cast iron below and redo where the toilet sits. The quote was significant. Jay said he would not charge for today, but would do the project the day after. To no fault of Jay and jr. I had run into a friend who has done contract work on our block and he found a different solution to try. I called Rescue to explain and cancel and Jay and I spoke with regards to the cancellation. He was above and beyond professional and respectful of my decision. Most notably, Jay would not accept payment for his work since he said he did not fix the problem. I said I had no problem paying for his time, experience and identifying the issue, but he would not accept the payment.

Although I believe professionals should be paid for their time, I respect jay’s decision and will, reluctantly honor it. But, In the future, I will call on Jay to service my plumbing needs. He was knowledgeable, personable, respectful, explained every detail—like a master’s class in plumbing.

Zuniga's first time working with me was great - great technicians, great communication, fixed my issues right away. The second time left a lot to be desired. While the work was technically in line with what I asked them to do [vanity replacement in a tenant's unit], they installed the wrong vanity [then acted like I was in the wrong for telling them so!], and did so directly over the subfloor, without notifying me that there was tile missing...when I'd specifically asked them to notify me as such. They do not do tile, and I understand that, but they didn't follow my instructions and then acted churlish and rude when I gave them the feedback that I was disappointed in this - I would have liked the opportunity to have them refer me to a tile laying company and then to bring them back after the floor was in good shape and uniform throughout the bathroom. Now, I'll have to remove the vanity they've installed, then have the tile redone, then have the vanity reinstalled - a pain for me and my tenants alike.

I gave him this feedback directly, and his response was combative and unhelpful. All in all, there was no effort to make it right or accept responsibility whatsoever. I can handle mistakes, and I would have been understanding if he'd told me This is out of our purview - if that had happened, we could have worked together on a solution. But I can't handle outright rudeness and denial of responsibility when someone's done something contrary to what I asked when I'm paying them.

I don't recommend this company at all. If you do choose to move forward with this company, I would be very, very clear with Walter about what is acceptable and what is not, and be there to supervise the work as it's happening.

Pete and his son Noah took out the largest hair clog I’ve ever seen and were in and out in 30 minutes. A bit on the expensive side compared to other plumbing companies I reached out to but better to pay once and have it done right then to pay twice.

These people are the epitome of shady plumbers. A repair had to be conducted in a hurry and someone less knowledgeable had to supervise it and they saw $ signs and took advantage of the situation. Charged $850 to replace a shower cartridge and a toilet mechanism - $50 of parts and 30 minutes of work for them. Refused to provide a detailed invoice (that I needed for reimbursement). Actually did not use the right shower cartridge the first time, but hid it and charged the money anyway. Only when I called them out on it, since the shower did not work right, they came back to fix the shower for real. Avoid, unless you want to be ripped off by a couple of shady characters.
