Best Sewer Clog in Chicago IL
Pete and Noah did an outstanding job. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional, walking us through the issues and solutions. I would definitely recommend using this company for all major and minor repairs. (Feels good being able to drain water without having the sink clogged)

Just had Pete and his son come out for an estimate to run a gas line to my laundry closet to hookup a dryer. He was very honest in that the significant cost to convert the dryer from electric to gas was not worth it, and that I should just switch the outlet from 110v to 220v. Other plumbers might have pushed me to into the job, but I really appreciate him being truthful with what’s necessary, especially since I know nothing about plumbing. I’ll definitely keep them in mind for future plumbing needs.

Called for service and was told they don't service my area - which is 1 mile from their office... I live off Belmont in the same zip code as the office.

Very quick and professional service from Jan and his team at Vanguard plumbing. We appreciated that they were effective communicators and thoughtfully walked me through our plumbing issues at a basic level so that I could better understand our possible solutions. We would definitely work with them again for any plumbing needs in our home.

Seems like this company is hit or miss. I called them to come out and do as assessment of my condo unit prior to renting it out and they were quick, seemingly thorough and it was free! They didn't find any issues in my unit - great. I called them the following week to assess a leak in the ceiling of the retail space below our building's units. I spoke to the owner on Saturday and discussed having someone come out to look at it Monday morning. As of Monday morning, I hadn't heard from anyone so I called around 10am to see what time frame I was looking at. Obviously no one was planned to come out, so they sent someone and they arrived within the hour. As they arrived, I was told by the crew that it would cost $285 for them to set up a ladder and remove 1 ceiling tile to be able to see where the leak is coming from. After that, I basically had to stalk the owner to send us an estimate for any work that would have to be done. We had him look at another item (booster pump) that needed to be removed and capped too, since I had already paid $285 to have someone there. They said the work was too commercial because it was copper pipes and said they would not do the job. Keep in mind their truck, sweatshirts, and website says residential AND commercial - AND FREE ESTIMATES. After hounding them down for a full day, the owner told me they do not want to take on the commercial part of the work. Then, I asked if there was a chance they would cut the drywall to find the source of the leak that they may decide the work is too commercial and refuse to do it. At that point, he suggested I find another plumber who does commercial and residential work to have the work done. So much for my $285 that I have nothing to show for...and no refund offered, obviously.
Long story short: if you have MINOR residential repairs or issues, they might be okay. But if you live in Chicago and it's anything related to a building issue, STEER CLEAR!

Wasted my time and money and didn't solve the problem. Frankly I expected top service for the prices they charge ($250 just for diagnosis). They looked at my water heater and quickly concluded that I needed a new pilot assembly. They made me wait a few days because they didn’t have the part, and wanted an additional $285 to replace a $35 part. I didn’t have a good feeling about the training/experience of these plumbers and I was proven right. The part they replaced wasn’t even the problem. They called the manufacturer and were told that it might be the gas valve. All along they did not know how to diagnose the problem by themselves. They relied on the manufacturer for advice both times. Then they offered me to replace the whole unit for $1,680 but at this point I was not interested on their overpriced and unreliable service. In the end I did decide to replace the water heater but I hired a different company who did it for a much more reasonable $300 plus the cost of the water heater.
Response to Eugene:
- No, I reached out to you Tuesday but you couldn’t come till Thursday.
- You didn’t charge me for the replacement part because I convinced you not to. Otherwise I would have spent $$$ for nothing.
- Yes, the other company I hired is licensed, insured and has 20+ years experience.
- And no, to say that I was rude to the plumbers is a complete lie and they can confirm that. You are just trying to discredit my review.

Great experience, but seemed a little expensive. I would recommend them though, they got me in right away, on time, and the plumber was great. I just had some sticker shock.

Updated review: I wish I could give Rescue Plumbing 7 stars. I thought my new plumbing had a leak and it turned out that I installed the shower head wrong (massive facepalm). The same team visited my home and they were gracious, understanding, and fixed the issue quickly. Love this company.
Logan and Jenkis were awesome. They were timely, professional, and friendly. Highly recommend Rescue Plumbing!

We've always had a positive experience with J. Blanton - their teams are professional and office is communicative. I had an issue come up on a Friday afternoon, the team was out to take a look and give us a quote Saturday morning, and everything was fixed by Monday afternoon.

Logan and his teammate were really great. Took time to explain what they were going to do - and what I should do going forward to help prevent further damage. Very efficient and cleaned up after; fair. Plus, just really nice - goes a long way for new home owners of a very old house.

Sam's Plumbing And Rodding came to our rescue not once, but twice in 4 days. They used video to locate and mark our clog and then sent in the big truck to it blast away! Our technician, Jim was awesome and knowledgeable. We didn't feel nickel and dimmed and they were upfront about costs. We would totally use Sam's Plumbing And Rodding again in a heart beat. Thank you.

Fantastic, nothing else. Mr Burris is not only a very nice person (my dog is super picky and immediately felt at ease with him), but more importantly he's incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. He clearly still enjoys his craft, even after who knows how many decades of doing it. He even fought Chicago Marathon traffic to come out on a Sunday!
We had him out to evaluate some (what we thought was) serious leaking in the basement and in the walls between two condos. He walked me through every step, making sure I understood the mechanics of what is happening and then listened as I said it all back to him. He told me how much to expect to pay for all the steps and to have anyone who estimates more call him to explain it in front of me. He also offered some DIY advice too to save us some money. Saving his number... probably on speed dial.
