Major re-do of catch basin (closing off) and redirecting all basement drains to the sewer main. Project timed and executed perfectly, plumbers always appearing on time, diligent and hardworking, courteous and considerate of our property, good at keeping us clearly advised what was going on, finished right on time projected.

Lewis came and unclogged our kitchen sink for us. He was very professional and very nice. Not only did he unclog the drain for us but also gave us some advice on how to keep our drain clean.

I used First Chicago Plumbing for the first time recently and was very happy with the experience. Even before booking the job, the project manager spend a lot of time with me answering questions and making sure that I understood the process and was prepared in advance - I had a gas pipe moved so it wan't a standard plumbing job. They arrived on time, worked professionally and efficiently and were able to think creatively to get the job done (old building, modern stove, not quite compatible).
This is my first plumbing job in Chicago so I don't have a basis of comparison for pricing but the cost didn't seem unusual to me.
I have no reservations about recommending First Chicago Plumbing.

Alex and Sam were able to come out the morning after I called, showed up promptly at 7am, and were able to diagnose and fix the issue within 40 minutes. I still made it to work on time! We have been using Chicagoland Quality Plumbing services for approximately four years and found him through our Angie's List membership. We own 3 rental properties and Edwin has repaired leaks, installed dishwashers and water lines(for both kitchen sinks and washer units), replaced toilet wax rings and unclogged drains over the past four years for us. The service that we indicated as not listed is definitely worth mentioning as it turned out to be a big job. We called Edwin because we noticed a leak coming from our basement ceiling. Upon his inspection he not only told us that he suspected the main drain line in our 3 story building was leaking. He provided us with a plan for the best way to pinpoint where the drain was leaking behind the 3 apartment walls and once it was located how he would make the repair. Long story short, with Edwin's experience, where he ended up opening the kitchen wall turned out was within 3 feet of the eroded main drain line. Edwin and Roberto removed a section of 100 year old drain pipe and then replaced it. What Edwin charged us for this two day, two man job was reasonable. His work is top notch and we always find that his prices are very reasonable that's why we always call Edwin and we hope that he is not planning on retiring any time soon :)

One call and they came the same day, let me know what the problem was and got the supplies and finish the job the next day. I will definitely recommend this company to family & friends.

$650 for a sewer rod that took them less than an HR to get done, and wanted to charge me over $1,000

Plumber was due 11-3; he arrived at 3; he left at 3:18. He was rude and arrogant. I was quoted a price for an hour of service; he added on $40 for a nut or bolt that he used. You live and learn; I will not use this service again.

Had a blockage in my 4 unit rental. Came out on a Saturday and rodded. Then suggested catch basin should be cleared out. Scheduled that and had a truck clear it out following week. He seemed like he really knew the art of plumbing. Very straightforward. Not cheap but fair. Month later water coming up through my sump pump at my own house. I flipped breaker and texted him. Water started receding. He said it was probably toilet paper and that breaker probably fixed it. Nice guy!
