Pete I. Was the most knowledgeable plumber and person anyone in a pinch could ask for. He did a great job!!!

Just had Pete and his son come out for an estimate to run a gas line to my laundry closet to hookup a dryer. He was very honest in that the significant cost to convert the dryer from electric to gas was not worth it, and that I should just switch the outlet from 110v to 220v. Other plumbers might have pushed me to into the job, but I really appreciate him being truthful with what’s necessary, especially since I know nothing about plumbing. I’ll definitely keep them in mind for future plumbing needs.

I called John Baethke because I had water coming out of my wall and needed prompt attention. I had previously used his company for routine water heater maintenance, and their work was good, so I figured I'd try him again. I called in the evening, and I was told that he would have someone out to my house the next afternoon. At 5pm the next day, I called and asked when I might expect someone to arrive, and I was told that I was not on their service list. I asked to speak with John directly, as I had made the appointment with him, and he called me back five minutes later. I described our previous conversation in detail and told him politely that I expected him to honor his commitment. He told me that he had no memory of the call, that he probably spoke with 100 people yesterday, and the best he could do was get someone out to me 24 hours later (i.e., 48 hours after my original request and 24 hours after his commitment to me). I told him that was not acceptable and that I shouldn't have to go to the back of the line. He then basically told me that I was out of luck.

At that point, I told him I thought that was unacceptable and I was thinking about what I would put in a Yelp review. As soon as I brought up Yelp, he started grew hostile and started yelling at me. I never raised my voice with him, despite being very unhappy that he was blowing me off, but the mere mention of the word Yelp set him off. He finished yelling and then hung up on me. He was terribly unprofessional.

Bottom line -- he failed to show up and cost me precious time that I wish I had spent finding another plumber. Moreover, he was not the least bit apologetic. People make mistakes, and it's pretty clear he just forgot to write this down. But the fact that he made no effort to apologize or otherwise fix the mistake other than put me in the back of the line was terribly disappointing. Anyone who cares about customer service would have at least managed to show some sort of regret.

I am giving 1 star only because zero stars is not an option.

I have now used Rooter Rooter two times. I originally tried to go with a privately owned company. I thought I would come out ahead that way. To my surprise I was not able to hire anyone in northwest Chicago that was privately owned. They either flaked on me or they never returned my phone calls. So, with both of my issues, I reached out to Rooter-Rooter. Both times they were professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and responsive. The first time I had an emergency on New Years Eve and they dispatched someone right away. The pricing was not a huge dent to my budget either. I am grateful for their service and will be using them again in the future.

Rocket Plumbing is all that! I found them on-line. Scary thought. The next morning I called and I was able to schedule a plumber for that afternoon. Two gentlemen, truly capable guys, willing, relatable and smart, came in and replaced my drippy faucet with the new one I bought from Home Depot and thought I might install myself. Sounds simple but the building is old and the water source and connections archaic. No way I could have done it. While working they noticed corrosion on a sink drain pipe and suggested it would need replacement soon. I said how much and then, go ahead. During removal, the pipe gave way underneath leaving a thumb size hole. Thank goodness it didn't happen while running the disposal the next day! Saved a bunch. Thanks Rocket!

Came out and helped us after the deep Chicago freeze. Clearly communicated when he would be able to come and quickly assessed and fixed the problem. Very polite and easy mannered. And a very reasonable price for the services. Would definitely use them again for any of our plumbing needs.

Plumber Chris Loebbaka in particular, hits all marks for expertise, service, communication, and problem-solving. Their Drip Club is worth every penny and highly recommended!
