My review is not a 5 because the time estimate window was significantly off and the price was high - $469 to rod out the kitchen pipe. They give a $69 discount for writing a review.

I would like to acknowledge outstanding service and work ethic. I placed a call to Vanderbosch for a boiler inspection and cleaning for a 9 unit Condo in Chicago. I was sent John C. who came out about 4 days later. When our condo president and I met him, we were impressed by his professionalism and politeness. He explained our options and went into detail as to how they would reflect on the safety of our building as well as efficiency of our boiler. Our boiler had been neglected and took him all day to take apart and clean. Even though our building has the original boiler, someone might have hesitated to trust anyone to take it apart to clean. However John C. took pictures of all the original settings, documented them so that he would return the unit to it's original running settings. During this tedious and messy process he consulted with Hugh Hodur (the owner) many times only to find out that the settings were not correct for optimal efficiency. During this process he answered many of my questions and patiently explained many scenarios. Also he discovered a relay switch which will be replaced this Friday that could have shut down our boiler at any minute with out notice due to corroded wires. This company converted my in floor radiant heat to above ground 15 years ago. They were great back than but after yesterday, they have me as a customer for life, regardless of where I live in their service area. Outstanding and ethical. Thank you John C. And Hugh Hodur. Maryann was very customer friendly very informative. The plumber did not give me the same price Maryann quoted, she quoted 150.00 per hour, he wasn't even here a good 25min, and he charged me 165.00 dollars, but it is what it is. I understand that if they are here for 15min its still 150.00 dollars, but why would he charge me a extra 15.00 dollars. I've known Mr yerkes for many many years, he was always very knowledgeable, and helpful with any Diy project I was doing, by me being a female I made many mistakes, and Mr yerkes had many laughs on me, he his a great friend .I wish he still had his hardware

Had a blockage in my 4 unit rental. Came out on a Saturday and rodded. Then suggested catch basin should be cleared out. Scheduled that and had a truck clear it out following week. He seemed like he really knew the art of plumbing. Very straightforward. Not cheap but fair. Month later water coming up through my sump pump at my own house. I flipped breaker and texted him. Water started receding. He said it was probably toilet paper and that breaker probably fixed it. Nice guy!

Hands down BEST customer service I have EVER experienced! We had a major backup in our kitchen and within 45mins (not even!) he arrived and knew what the problem was by me just explaining my issue. Jake from J Blanton Plumbing came out in Dec 2018, evaluated my situation and returned with a replacement water heater. Installation was flawless, including exhaust ducting changes - once completed my hot water was flowing again. Since then I've had J Blanton Plumbing come out for an annual checkup and again I was very satisfied. I would highly recommend J Blanton Plumbing for water heater projects.
