Andrew at Roto-Rooter was extremely professional. He explained what he was doing and WHY he was doing it - every step along the way. I appreciated the explanations because it gave me confidence. When it comes to plumbing, I'm always concerned about paying too much or paying but not having the job done carefully or correctly. I am sure they are not the cheapest but they have the company reputation behind them and I felt like Andrew went above and beyond to make sure the clog was fixed. The photo with the red cup shows the extra roots he found when going at it with a wider scraper.

Overall, I had a positive experience with Vanguard Plumbing. My toilet finally started showing its age and needed to be rebuilt. Plumbers arrived on time and stuck to the agreed-upon proposal of time-to-complete the job as well the total cost of labor and parts (so there were no unexpected surprises when the work was finished).

I used First Chicago Plumbing for the first time recently and was very happy with the experience. Even before booking the job, the project manager spend a lot of time with me answering questions and making sure that I understood the process and was prepared in advance - I had a gas pipe moved so it wan't a standard plumbing job. They arrived on time, worked professionally and efficiently and were able to think creatively to get the job done (old building, modern stove, not quite compatible).
This is my first plumbing job in Chicago so I don't have a basis of comparison for pricing but the cost didn't seem unusual to me.
I have no reservations about recommending First Chicago Plumbing.

I have had a very poor experience with this company.

First, they missed their appointment and didn’t give me any notification - they never showed up day of. I was told they would come first thing the following morning but the plumber did not arrive until the afternoon.

I hired them for a simple job of replacing a leaky valve and also replacing a water faucet I had already purchased. Ultimately, I was charged $520 (labor alone) for what I would consider a basic job. The service fee of $120 was not waived or deducted from the final bill.

After the job, I noticed a pool of water below the sink and had to call him back. Even after the second visit, there was still a leak so I had to call him back a 3rd time to finally finish the job.

Lastly, I was supposed to get a quote for installing a disposal but that never came even though I asked for it twice.

Huge waste of time and money.

Mr. Burris was extremely knowledgeable as well as compassionate not to mention very fair and honest , amazing experience got my furnace back up and running!

We recently remodeled our kitchen, thought our pipes were all good. Discovered a slow leak in our basement. Reached out to Andersen plumbing to come have a look. They were able to come inspect that day and found that our main drain pipe to the sink and dishwasher were completely corroded. I reached out to the company this morning and Dmitry responded soon after. After describing my plumbing problem over the phone, he thought that sending out a plumber for the task would not be a good decision - it would cost way too much for what needed to be done. So, I asked if I could get a consultation over the phone, which I would pay for gladly. He agreed to help me but declined the payment! Wow. He could have sent out a plumber, which would have cost hundreds of dollars just to have the problem looked at, but instead, after I sent him a few pictures, he walked me through what needed to be done, without charging me a penny. Unbelievable. Anytime anyone I know needs anything involving plumbing and/ or heating, I know who I will refer them to! Thanks CJ Plumbing and Heating!
