Best Repair Service in Albuquerque NM

I had some of their techs out to fix an issue I had with my water heater. The wires from the controller to the burner grounded out against the metal cover on my water heater, because I was a dummy and bumped against it, causing it to ground out.

Oh well, so I gave them a call. They came out, diagnosed that it was the burner, were very friendly and prudent about trying to get the part asap.

They replaced the burner ($700) and it’s still not working. When it grounded out it also fried the electronic controller (which I could see as obvious).

This tech that replaced was a different one than the first one, and was talking to my wife. He didn’t elaborate further than “the burner is fixed, but now the controller is bad.” He then tried to justify replacing the whole water heater, which would have cost around $1700, or just to replace the controller, which was quoted at $600.

Now I totally understand that when troubleshooting sometimes you have to throw parts at something until it works, and I don’t know for sure if those prices are competitive. I don’t really understand the logic of replacing the whole water heater.

I ended up going a different route to fix it for other reasons. Overall, my experience with these guys is a mixed bag. I thought I’d share, just so people can know what my experience was.

My wall furnace pilot would not stay lit. Many told me it was the thermalcouple. I bought one. It did not work. So I call the professionals at Comfort Solutions. I was charged $250 to diagnose it that it was the gas valve. The technician told me it would be $250 for the part and another $250 for the labor, for a total of $750 plus tax, would end up about $800. I said no thanks.
Finally a technician charge me $50 to tell me that since the pilot lights up, but but does not stay lit after the first session, he said it was the temperature control.

I am so thankful I found this company. I’ve used them once before for my parents house and was able to call them again for a pipe repair in my master bathroom. Always easy to make an appointment and the technicians answer my questions easily. They did a great job and I appreciate how respectful they were of my property (cleaned up thoroughly afterwards).

Tony Rodriguez replaced the the shower faucets in both or our bathrooms. He did an excellent job. We have been using B.Carlson for 16 years and are glad we do.we highly recommend them.
