Our 73-year-old water main started leaking in mid-July. We turned it off at the main and called Steward's, who sent a team the same day. They confirmed that the leak was not in or under the house, then recommended a leak location service. ABQ Leak Locater came out and found two leaks. Because Covid-19 has left Steward's without enough technicians, they were not able to start digging right away; however, they came out the same week and started work. Moreover, they left us with a temporary water supply during the entire replacement of the water line, which took several days. Finally, they repoured concrete on the walkway that they'd had to remove to get to the water pipe. They even replaced the slates from a walkway that they'd had to move. Steward's shows up when they say they will, the works costs what the estimate shows, and their workers are uniformly professional and friendly. We have used Steward's since 2001, at both of the houses we have bought in Albuquerque, and we have never been disappointed--in fact, we have often been surprised and gratified by them going beyond what we expected.

Barney hooked up/turned on our AC unit for the upcoming summer. We had some slight issues on our end, but with Barney's help and determination, he not only exceeded our expectations he saved us money as well...Thank you Barney for being a jack of all trades and for going above and beyond... I've owned my house since 2013 and have gone through a good number of plumbers. Steward's is the best by far! They are responsive, knowledgeable, reasonable and professional while still adding personal touches that make the customer feel like part of the family. I am very pleased with the service Stewards Plumbing has provided me. I've used them on several occasions and their work is exemplary. In one case I needed replacement of my passive solar hot water tank & conversion to electric. It was a complex job and the finished product was impressive. They made sure required codes were followed and the new unit was properly secured. In another instance my cooler was winterized and in another they replace a toilet. Chris and Chad came out to check our gas line so we could put in a gas stove, while they were here they went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. They were thorough, explained everything and their customer service was exemplary. The cost to us was about a tenth of what we were quoted by another plumber. Needless to say we will not only use Stewards again but wenwill recommed them to others.

I have so many wonderful things to say about Steward's Plumbing. We had extensive plumbing work done in fall of 2021--new tankless hot water heater, water filter, under-sink RO system, new washing machine connection box. Everyone I talked to--the folks who answer the phones to the techs who did the work, etc.--was kind, friendly, and professional. They made sure we knew what was happening every step of the way, and communicated with us if some part of the plan needed adjusting, as sometimes happens with an older house. They were also meticulous in making sure everything was up to code and would pass inspection when the time came. Their prices were also competitive, and we'd gotten a lot of quotes prior to selecting a company to do the work. I will absolutely be using them again for future projects and recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, reliable plumber.

My shower diverter was giving me problems and Francisco knew exactly what to do. I highly recommend you become an A-list member of Steward's Plumbing.

We have a newer home that started having a sewer smell coming up from the shower after it runs for about 20 minutes. They sent a plumber out that did not know what to do and called his boss for ideas. He went on the roof and took a cap off a pipe and assumed that he fixed the problem. Despite the fact that I told him several times that the water has to run for about 20 minutes, he would turn it off after about 5 minutes at the most. He charged us $130 and the problem was not fixed at all. I asked him as I was paying, what if the smell is still there? He said they would credit what I just paid or work it out somehow. Well, the next day the smell was obviously still there. I called the receptionist, asked if they could send a different plumber, and asked about being credited for the money we spent already. She did not want to send someone different and told me they would not be crediting the money we spent (for nothing). She said they would call me back after she talked to them when they get out of their meeting. By the afternoon, no one had called so I called again. She said the guy that worked on it was now out of the office and would give me a call that day. No call. The next day I called again. She said they would call me and I asked if they would be calling that day? She said they would and,of course, no call. By Thursday,I decided to wait and see if they would call. No call. Friday morning, a different receptionist answered the phone, I told her the problem and she simply scheduled a different plumber to come out next week. What really bugged me is that the other receptionist called and left me a message saying that she saw I called and scheduled an appointment with a different plumber and she wanted to make it clear there is no refund or credit and they may have to tear out the wall. She never called me back during the prior 3 days that I tried to get someone else. She didn't listen to my concerns and instead did the opposite of what I had asked. Horrible customer service. Waste of money. Since she called and left me that message, I will be canceling my appointment and using a different company all together. They did not stand by their work.

We had Barney over to check out our bathroom plumbing after we demoed to hear the good/bad news. Luckily, it was good, but Barney was awesome, a truly legit plumber. Though the inspection was free, if we ever need services again, I will call and request him. We've used Steward's for all of our plumbing and cooling needs over these last few years and I am always impressed with their professionalism and customer service. From helping us with our main line around Thanksgiving to repairing our hot water heater just this morning, they've always been there when we needed them. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for plumbing or cooling repairs or installation in Albuquerque.

I've had them out 3 times for the same issue and my sink STILL leaks I paid over $500 to still have a leak and for them to tell me I would need to pay another $160 to fix a problem I already paid them to fix!!!!!

The technician that came out during estimate was awesome. After that it took numerous attempts to get a estimate back after being told it would take two days. I finally got it back. Seemed really high. Does not offer you the option to rough in plumbing. Only willing to do the job if they do the whole job. That way they make the most money possible.

Excellent replacement of two manifolds.

We had a big problem in our home with a broken pipe from our septic tank (yuck as you can imagine). We called Steward's Plumbing and they sent two of their people right away. They were able to find the underground leak with a camera and get the problem fixed in one day. As you can imagine, this sort of problem would have been even worse if Steward's couldn't have fixed it right away. I found their people helpful and courteous and their service was fast and efficient. I would definitely use Steward's Plumbing again.

This Company needs to be reported to the BBB, techs were sent out to work on aunts house charged her over $500.00 and never fixed the problem. We have tried calling them to come back out and no ever answers the phone and we just get the run around.

Over the past 12 months, we have used Steward's Plumbing on three separate occasions from our real estate inspection to new installations. Barney was our latest technician and he succinctly outlined the issues, went straight to work, replaced some broken parts, and was done much more quickly than I expected. We now have a fully functioning guest shower. He left all the work areas clean (as have all the techs with the company). We've always been super pleased with the scheduling and communication with Steward's. We know when the techs are arriving and exactly who is arriving to our house. I work from home and barely experienced any disruptionat all. Another great experience and highly recommend!

Water was off so no repairs were needed. Still charged me 80 dollars which was a bit high for a service call. My other contractor's kid turned it off and I thought it was the pump. 80 bucks was too much for 1 minutes work. Mad at both Stewart's and my contractor.

Those guys worked tirelessly to get us back up and running with very little loss of production. It was a very difficult job they had to do, and they nailed it. Customers beware… They will tell you it’s under warranty over the phone. Then they will hit you will a big bill a few days later. This is not a good business practice. Please think long and hard before you use Stewarts plumbing.

Ken and his assistant did a full interior house repipe to Pex piping and finished in only 4 days! Each day at close of shift they left us running water and truly cared about our comfort during the process. We will use them again in the future and you should too!

Putting in a new waterline was a huge deal for me for many reasons; cost, disruption etc. I am old and I live alone. Having men working around here can be unnerving. However, with Rey and Max I was always comfortable. They were ridiculously polite to me and conscientious about keeping me informed. When I get the new faucet for the bathroom, I sure hope Rey will handle the installation. I can wait if necessary to have him do it. I make this request because he knows the bathroom but also because I am now very comfortable with him working in my home. Please let Rey and Max know how much I value their work on the project and their courtesy to me.
I am adding to this post now that my big new water line project is really complete, as well as all the additional little problems related to the project. Stewards Plumbing continues to have my full endorsement. Not only did the guys do a great job but they also did that great job in the least disruptive way possible. Throughout the process, each and every worker demonstrated respect for me and for my house. i believe Stewards Plumbing is one of the most competent and reliable companies in town and would highly recommend them to family and friend alike.

It was a rough start to get someone out due to delay in scheduling and working with a insurance company. We finally had the HVAC come out today and diagnosed the problem and will be back to take care of the problem. The office staff was beyond professional when I was losing my cool. I would highly recommend this company and we will continue using them for all our needs, Honest and seem to really care about their customers.

We live in a home that was built in 1950, and we recently had to replace all of the galvanized pipes for our water - from the main line and throughout the entire house. We have lived in Albuquerque since 2008, and during that time we have had Steward's Plumbing come out for several small issues - toilets, showers, hot water heater, etc. They have always been a pleasure to work with, and this large project was no exception. The entire project took about 10 days from start to finish - 2 days of work under the house in the crawl space, 2 days of work digging trenches in the front yard, a few days in between to have the city mark gas lines and then come out for inspection, and a few small items as follow up. Luis was our main plumber, and several days he had Chad working with him. Both of them were outstanding, so friendly and courteous, as well as hard-working, often staying late in the day to make sure they reached a point where they could reconnect our water so that we never were without water for a night or over the weekend. Of course, dealing with a home of this age, we experienced some issues, including some that created confusion with the initial estimate, but Eric came by the house and sat down with us to explain the changes, and worked with us to make it affordable. We would highly recommend Steward's Plumbing to anyone in the Albuquerque area - and have already done so to our friends!

Steward's Plumbing was hired by my contractor to install new hose bibs. In the process, the technician broke a pipe in our closet which caused our closet and bedroom to flood. Steward's plumbing took no responsibility for this damage. The technician admitted to my contractor and his boss at Steward's Plumbing that he had broken the pipe and then when we noticed the leak several days later, repaired the pipe. No one told me directly that they had caused the break of the pipe.
Once the wall was opened up in our closet, you could see that the pipe had been repaired. However, it had been about three days since the pipe and been broken and the damage in the closet and bedroom had already occurred.
The boss at Steward's Plumbing then had his technician go through a ruse of how it was our radiant system that had leaked and also told him not to admit to us that he had repaired the pipe.
We had our own plumbers come in and they could see that the pipe had been broken and then repaired.
We had homeowners which paid for most of the repairs. These repairs included new carpet, new tile, a full dryout by Paul Davis Restoration (they did a great job) and repainting of a master bedroom and closet. We had a $1,000 deductible to pay and Steward's has never admitted any fault nor offered to pay our deductible.
It was their cover-up of what had been done that was most upsetting. If they had admitted that they made a mistake, we would be more understanding.
I would definitely not recommend this dishonest firm.

I am now posting an update. Steward's Plumbing broke the pipe in my house back in February of this year. My insurance company, USAA, filed a subrogation claim with Steward's Plumbing. They answered no emails or calls. USAA, then sent the claim to a collections agency. Steward's Plumbing continued to ignore any attempt to contact them. I now have four years to file a claim against Steward's. I would have been satisfied if they at least paid our $1000 deductible. Just so you know, we have never filed an homeowners claim with our insurance company in 35 years. This is the only claim. We are now in August of 2018 and I do plan to file a claim against them. Only, instead of the $1000, I will file for the entire damage which totals just over $9000. It would have been a good idea for them to pay the $1000 deductible from the start.
Do not use this company, they do not conduct business with integrity or honesty.

I’ve been using Steward’s Plumbing for years - both personally and professionally. Eric and his team have always provided me and my clients the service and experience I’ve come to expect and appreciate.

Disappointing.

It took much much longer than quoted to complete a fairly minor job . The technucuans rarely showed up at the times they said they would cancelled altogether on us one day and when the work didnt pass inspection, they did a portion of the work to correct but we opted to do the rest because we were tired of waiting on them after which they didnt call the City when they said they would for inspection.

They were so helpful and always answer all my questions kindly. Great service. I will defitively call them back when I need their service.

Stewards Plumbing replaced two hose bibs on our house. Ken, Tommy and Ryan were professional and courteous. They completed the work satisfactorily and installed an access panel for future use if needed. Thank you Ken, I am pleased with your work ethics.

I called and inquired about a quote and explained exactly what the issue was. I spoke to a lady on phone 1st off and asked if you charged for estimates and she answered no. I then mentioned I was referred by one of your current customers. I told her My main trap to the house, about 2 ft from the exterior wall has roots, reason I know this is because I’ve snaked it a couple of times with your customers help, my neighbor. I just wanted to get it repaired and be done with it. I just had Total Hip Replacement and don’t when I’ll be able to fix it myself. Your Two men show up knowing what to estimate for. They ran a camera and bingo, exactly what I told them. They ran a snake but it’s Clear from 8 months ago when I snaked it last. Well, your free estimate cost me $256.00 and an estimate to fix it for 15 hundred plus dollars. So much for free estimates, a little deceiving I’d say. Well you got your $256.00 but that’s it, except for a little free publicity.

We have used Steward's Plumbing for over 5 years now. We bought a home with boiler in-floor heat and had never experienced it before. Steward's Plumbing not only started it up but also educated us on how it works, how to set thermostats, and how to light it. We have used them ever since. Punctual, polite, informative, dependable and very willing to work around the customer's schedule. We highly recommend them!

This business is very unprofessional from a customer service standpoint. I don't know if their plumbers are though because their scheduler was just too rude and unrpofessional to deal with. She called me to set up an appointment yesterday and through the conversation complained about her plumbers calling in sick. I said that if someone is sick, they probably shouldn't come into work. She said she would call me back with some appointment options. She never did. So, I called today to confirm so that I could coordinate working from home. She answered the phone like I was a friend not a customer, yelling yeah. I asked her about my appointment. She said oh yeah, we have you on standby. I told her she didn't call me back to confirm. She had given me two different days... Did she think I would be on standby for both days? I feel sorry for the actual plumbers and hvac people that have to work there and be scheduled by someone so incompetent.

Had a tech come look at my furnace and they told me my control panel was bad. Long story short they wanted to charge me $600 for a new control board. I hired another plumber who properly diagnose the problem and fixed it for $100. This company is constantly texting and bugging about your upcoming appointment (very annoying in my opinion) I must have received 8 messages about my 2 appointments I had scheduled. If they put as much effort into diagnosing issues correctly as they did into texting their customers they would be a A+ business.. Lastly they had a hard time recording my email correctly even after I told the tech that it was wrong..

I was converting my bathtub to a shower. I got quotes from several plumbers but selected Steward's Plumbing as their plan of action to move the drain to the center of the floor and replacing pipes made the most sense. They wanted to reach the pipes from the below ceiling in the laundry room so we would not have to cut into the bathroom tile. I am glad that we selected this company not based on price as another place was $600 cheaper. It was a blessing in disguise. The day before when we moved the washer and dryer so they had access to the ceiling we discovered a leak. The day of our appointment, Steward's Plumbing fixed the leak as well as the original work all in the same day. That way we did not have to be without water for that long

Was referred to them by a home inspection company, which told us that the service entails removing of the toilet fixture for the sewer line inspection. However, they came while I was at work and my wife still home, and did an inspection over the roof, and explained that it costs more and charged us over $ 230 without leaving any receipt or explanation of what they did. Contacted them twice for the inspection report, and no response whatsoever. Nearly two decades in Albuquerque, I've never had a plumber charge for service without a receipt detailing what they did. DO NOT USE THIS CROOK.

I professionally manage a home for a homeowner that uses American Home Shield for their home warranty. This home has a tenant who rents the property and with repairs, they're always time sensitive. The initial service request for the A/C (swamp cooler) not working was submitted on 07/31/2017. My tenant informed me that Stewards Plumbing installed a temporary pump for the swamp cooler to make it work. On 8/6/2017, my tenant reported that the swamp cooler completely stopped working. I immediately called on Monday, 8/7/2017, to inform them that they needed to potentially put a rush on this work order because of New Mexico Landlord/Tenant laws. They said they submitted a quote for replacement because the unit was old and too rusted out to repair and it was approved by American Home Shield on 08/08/2017.

I asked Kimmy (Stewards Plumbing rep) to inform me on when it would be delivered, installation date, etc. Her response was, I don't have that information. We're at the mercy of the distribution company and when it comes in, which could take a couple days, we'll let you know. I understood her hands were tied, so I said, Okay, no problem, please keep me informed. I called AHS myself and asked if they'd have an update on when the A/C would be ready for pick up and installation. AHS said it'd be ready for pick up the next day, 08/09/2017 from the distribution company. I called back to Steward's Plumbing the next day, spoke with her again, same response. Nope, no idea when it's coming in. I told her that AHS said it'd be ready for pick up on Wednesday, but again, same response. I didn't understand why their information conflicted and why nobody would be able to track where the A/C was coming from and a tentative date of installation. By Wednesday, her responses were even shorter and she seemed very irritable when I called. My job is ensure that I'm doing everything I can do possible to avoid my tenant from abating rent and moving out.

I called back on Thursday, 08/10/2017 to follow-up.. Still nothing. Keep in mind, my tenant had been without cooling since Sunday, 08/06/2017. By Friday, I called again to follow-up, I was fed up with their communication and unwillingness to help me find answers.. Her response again, Nope, we still don't have it. It's not here. I finally asked where the A/C was coming from and she briefly mentioned Sigler. I rushed off the phone with her and Googled Sigler. I called the number and within minutes, I had an update that the A/C had been ready for pick-up since Wednesday, 08/09/2017. It wasn't coming from out of state, it was sitting at a warehouse ready for pick-up and installation. As you can imagine, I called and fully expressed my disappointment in their service and again, unwillingness to provide an actual update. I spoke with their rep that handles all the AHS dispatch calls and she stated that everything was a miscommunication and someone had dropped the ball from the distro. I want to stress that it's not acceptable for a professional to brush these these issues off.. It would of taken 5 minutes to get in touch with the distribution company and give their customer an actual update. The A/C was finally installed yesterday, 08/16/2017.

Unfortunately, I will never recommend this company to a homeowner or management company. Their service was poor and their communication was poor. They have really great ratings, but my experience with them was horrible. If we get assigned this company again for service calls, I hope they improve their service.

We have been using Steward's Plumbing for several years. They have been out to do everything from our radiant floor heating to leaky faucets. Their technicians are knowledgeable and respectful. They are always on time and they know what they are doing. Their have reasonable pricing. Their office staff is very responsive. We would and have recommended Steward's Plumbing. We would give them a 10 out of 10 . Incredibly ethical company you can feel safe knowing that they do background checks on all of their employees

These guys do a great job and clean up after themselves. They treat your place as if it were there place. You can’t ask for more than that.

Steward's Plumbing is always give expert advice and work, they are professional, thorough, and will let you know if there are several ways to tackle a project and what the pros/cons are. We have been customers for over 4 years and wouldn't think of calling anyone else for our plumbing/cooling/heating problems and maintainence work! We HIGHLY recommend them!

Excellent service. I had the pipe that leads to the backyard hose corrode and break off in the spigot. They had it replaced in an hour and got here within 30 mins after calling them. Thank you so much. Jason was friendly, efficient and went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of.

These folks are reliable and do good work, but we had an emergency and they didn't have staff available to come in a timely fashion. While we waited for them to come and fix our leak under the slab, it got worse. Repeated calls and pleas for speed didn't help much, and by the time they finally arrived, the leak had seeped into the bedroom and destroyed the carpet and damaged the baseboards. Huge expense and hassle, completely avoidable.

I did not have an emergency but a stopped up sink and I called Steward's. Kimberly got right on it and had Luis come over very quickly. Luis fixed my problem sink in no time at all. I really appreciated the quick response.

I had a sprinkler leak in my yard that had been leaking for a week before it became apparent. I called Stewart's Plumbing for help. They confirmed my appointment the night before and emailed when they were on their way. My front yard had to be dug up to make the repair. Once the work was completed, the yard looked like nothing had happened, it was perfect! I needed a bill to provide to the city to confirm the leak and the work done. Stewart's provided exactly what I needed to get my water bill adjusted.

I am very pleased with their work and the fact that they let me know what was happening in terms I could understand throughout the entire process.

I would definitely use Stewart's again although I hope I don't have too, lol.

While we have had positive experiences with Steward's in the past and were happy with them, this season they let us down. They missed an appointment that we had scheduled with them, had us wait a week until they showed up for a new appointment, and once they did, they told us we needed a new furnace and that we could not keep it on for safety reasons. They told us they would be in touch about plans to replace the furnace in the next 48 hours. We never heard back from them. I think we will be looking for a new business to meet our plumbing and heating/cooling needs.

This is the first company I have used that sends you a text message in advance of your appointment with pictures of the plumbers that are going to be arriving at your home. I really appreciated that. Fernando was our plumber and he and his assistants did excellent work. They showed up when he said they would and did everything he contracted for. Very impressed and will use again. They weren't the least expensive, but I've taken that option twice before with disastrous results. You get what you pay for. Steward's worked with me to get a time that worked with my schedule. The plumber called to let me know he was on the way and arrived promptly. He did an fabulous job - had to rework the pipes on my hot water recirculating timer. cleaned up everything and it works perfectly

This was my first time using Steward's Plumbing. CalIed them to turn on a/c and turn off floor furnace. I was very pleased. The whole experience from start to finish was great. I like that you are e-mailed your tech's bio before he arrives. He was on time and not rushing to complete job, so it was well done. I would recommend them and most definitely will call on them again.
