We had a furnace replaced and had a lot of companies give us quotes. Everyone we spoke to and interacted with along the way at MGP was professional, friendly, and helpful. Gustavo and Kenny, who installed the furnace, were awesome. Gerald and Melania have a great thing going and we plan to use MGP moving forward.

My experience was great! My heater in my new home was not working even after I had someone come and inspect it. The first few days were freezing in my house and so I called and someone was able to come out that day! He knew exactly what the problem was and showed me and explained to me what was causing the heater to not work. He was was thorough and did an all around great job. My heater is now working perfectly and I am able to stay warm. I highly recommend!!

Gerald and his crew replaced a dated water heater and replaced old valve levers on all sinks and toilets throughout the house. After a minor leak was detected, Gerald came back after hours to take care of it. Highly recommend!

Amazing! After having Air Force One Plumbing Heating & Cooling send what they called their best tech over, he being unable to troubleshoot my furnace, so he called the owner to come look at it. The owner of Air Force One Plumbing showed up and told me I needed a new gas valve and motherboard or a new furnace. Wagner Mechanical than came over and that tech told me my furnace was shot and I simply needed a new one, he never pulling out a single tool or tester. I finally called MGP and immediately I could tell that Gerald knew what he was doing. Within five minutes, he was able to identify the problem. It had nothing to do with my furnace, it was my thermostat. Gerald repaired a broken wire and the furnace fired right up and now runs like a Rolex watch. Gerald and MGP will always have my business and I would recommend them to those I care about.

Oh, how I wish I called this place first. After waiting 4 weeks for a big local company to fix my boiler, they charged me $550 for checking things out, they then quoted me another $995 to get a pump replaced. At that point I called for a second opinion. MGP mechanical came out that same week and fixed the pump at a fraction of the cost. I couldn’t recommend this company enough.

Team Came out to troubleshoot my HVAC which had been blowing cool air at intervals. Able to get a quick turnaround appt. They cleaned the system and replaced the filter and everything's been working fine since then.

This business is run by professionals! Gerald installed 2 large combo units for my business. They were installed, up and running before we opened with not a single problem. He then replaced my kitchen sink, faucet, water heater, garbage disposal, and circulating pump. All done in a timely and efficient manner. MGP replaced our two home heaters and installed two new refrigerated air conditioning systems. (We previously had swamp coolers) Our home electrical system had to be updated to provide 200 amp service for the air conditioning which Gerald coordinated with an electrical subcontractor. Everything was accomplished on time with minimal disruption to our everyday life. We are very pleased with the work that was done on time and within budget.

We have used MGP Mechanical on a number of occasions. Our behest job however was the entire system replacement of our A/C units. We changed out old for new and updated thermostats. Since then our management ability and the efficiency of the new units has been remarkably better. Can’t say exactly the dollars saved each month but it has been a savings. Their price was fair and their work excellent. Great guidance during the project as well. Nice to deal with knowledgeable professionals. Would recommend to others for sure.

Furnace was not coming on. After two visits (because furnace did not malfunction for first technicians), Gerald diagnosed the problem. They accommodated our dire need for heat as the weather had turned and all other HVAC companies were booked out. Good communication. We greatly appreciated them fitting us in their tight schedule.

We recommend MGP, they installed a central air system for us. In the days after the install there was a bug in the system and we called them on a Friday night and they came over on Saturday to fix it! Gerald is very knowledgeable about our tankless water heater. About a year ago I was having the same problems. Had a plumber come out (won’t mention the business name) and the other plumber said I needed a new water heater. Come to find out all I needed was a O-ring. Gerald saved us a lot of money. The owner, Gerald, is one of the hardest-working guys you'll meet. He started this business by himself, and has staked everything on positive word of mouth. I know he hasn't wanted to answer all my calls and emails, but he does, and never complains.

MGP Mechanical has gone above and beyond from day 1 when it came to services needed at my new home. First my furnace started giving me issues, and my wall furnace in my game room wouldn't even turn on. That room was so cold you didn't even want to walk into it. Gerald came. out and realized that whoever painted the furnace black for appeal painted over the flame sensor so it wouldn't ignite. He changed it and we were able to spend time playing pool and enjoying our Kingdom Cave.
Next, we had to have a water line ran under the crawl space in our house to the refrigerator water/ice maker, as well as have all of our new appliances installed. Carlos did an amazing job and was very effective and time efficient when it came to installing my appliances even though the design of my kitchen made the job a little more difficult.
Finally, we decided to convert from evaporative cooling to refrigerated air and get a new furnace at the same time. The biggest issue we were facing with the upgrade was that our home was running on 40 AMPS of electricity (I know! How is that even possible?!)... MGP contracts out electrical through Double A Electric, Arnoldo is absolutely AMAZING! He handled EVERYTHING and made the whole process stressfree, worryfree, and literally seamless. Our furnace was pretty old, the venting was a little rough and the ductwork definitely needed an upgrade. The job which should have taken at least 2 days minimum, was completed in a day and a half.
The level of communication, care and detail that was taken into every part of the process blew me away. If you need quality work by a company that is going to care about the work they do... This is it. Forget the big business names... I'm going MGP every time!

We received a message that Eric was on his way to install a dryer vent through our roof. He was on time, professional and personable. He got to work immediately and had all tools and supplies necessary for the job. He finished in a timely manor and cleaned up after himself. He did a great job & everything looks good! After we found a broken pipe in our front yard, we called a few local plumbing companies. We left several messages, but only heard back from one. The company that came out was nice, but they quoted that the job would be close to $5K to fix. I wanted a second opinion and so I asked friends for recommendations.

A friend recommended MGP Mechanical and I wish we would have dealt with them from the start. They answered the phone almost immediately and were both thorough and pleasant. They set an appointment for a few days later and texted us on their way so that we would be ready for them.

Gerald spent a few minutes analyzing the job and was able to help problem solve a much less expensive option. His estimate was thousands less than the first company and we feel incredibly lucky that we asked for a second opinion.

Gabriel and Juan removed the old water heater and replaced it with a heat on demand system in one days time. Both gents very professional and friendly, also they explained what work was needed to be done. During testing after install Gabriel found a problem with a rarely used shower and replace a part on the water adjustment knob. That’s professionalism.

We had no hot water! They came the same day that I called and diagnosed the problem right away on a tankless water heater....and fixed it. I will be using MGP again and highly recommend!

Very disrespectful to employees

I called MGP Mechanical on Monday morning 11/28/22 because my heat was out. Gerald came out that afternoon, did some investigative work, and gave me repair and replacement options. I chose to replace the 16-year old unit. Gerald got me a firm proposal the following morning, which I accepted. He checked local inventories and found a replacement unit available here in Albuquerque. He loaned me three electric heaters to use in the interim. The following Monday 12/5 a crew from MGP Mechanical showed up along with a crane from Mountain States Crane. The old unit was rigged off and the new one set in place by about 11 that morning, and the new unit was connecting and fully functional by about 3 that afternoon. MGP registered the new unit with York (for warranty purposes) for me.

I cannot comment on whether MGP was a good value, as I did not shop around. But I can say that their work was of good quality and they were very responsive and very professional. I was very pleased with MGP and highly recommend them.

I waited over an hour and they did not show up for the estimated. I had to answer their phone call before they heading to my home even though they Sent a text saying tech on route. I had to call and find out the tech was not heading out here. If I have to answer the phone for the tech to come out they should of mentioned that at the time I schedule the appointment and if I wasn’t going to be home I wouldn’t have schedule the appointment!

I thought I did an update to my original post, but I have recommended MGP Mechanical on numerous occasions so far because I am and was impressed by the quality, concern, professionalism, timely and respect for my property that MGP showed in the installation of a new hot wat tank, furnace and A/C. At the time my last post was made, I had only had the hot water tank installed but they finished the A/C and furnace on July 6th. So thankful they were recommended by close friends of mine, they lived up to everything they said they were. Glenn, the person I spoke to and gave me prices and recommendations, etc. was absolutely the most professional personal I have ever dealt with, the technicians were all very respectful and cleaned up after they performed the work which impressed me. Thank you MGP Mechanical everything is working great and the A/C is keeping the house nice and cool in this heat.

MGP was really great. Gerald (MGP) was one of four different HVAC providers we received estimates from to replace our broken HVAC system. Gerald's quote included several options up to and including a repair of the old AC compressor through replacement of the entire system.

There was only one other company that quoted us essentially the same price Gerald quoted. We went with MGP because Gerald provided exact make and model numbers of each unit he intended to install. I was able to perform my own research into the units he intended on installing and was satisfied that MGP would install high quality, durable, efficient and warrantied units in my home. All of the other HVAC provider's quotes were THOUSANDS more than MGP's quote and did not seem to include units that were as good as MGP's.

The two technicians that installed my units (Gustavo and another younger gentleman) were very skilled and extremely knowledgeable about the units and the installation. They answered all of our questions and took time to walk us through setting up and using the new thermostat, provided suggestions on maintaining the system and made sure we understood the system we were paying for. Everything they did looks very clean and well installed. Gustavo and the other man were very nice, extremely clean and respectful of my home. Really great guys!

If I had one criticism it would be that MPG only offers a one year warranty on their installation. I learned through researching other local HVAC service providers that a one year installation warranty is pretty standard. I did get a two year installation warranty quote from one of the other companies but MGP's units were better (more efficient and more durable) and MGP's price was better.

We are more than satisfied with our new units, they work great, and very happy with the service and the professionalism of MGP. We highly recommend MGP to anyone needing a new AC, furnace or repairs on existing systems.

We recently moved into our house and had major plumbing issues. MGP is top-notch! They were so clean, professional, and helpful! My husband was deployed, and I'm nervous about letting people into my home, but I had no problem letting them in my home and leaving while they were here! We have an older home that was built in 1977. We needed two separate heat and air units that involved running a new duct as well as an electrical panel upgrade. Gerald from MGP coordinated the sub contractors needed to do the electrical work as well as another individual to build out a soffit for the new duct work. The subs were on time, were neat in getting the job done on schedule which allowed Gerald and his crew to get our new air and heat units installed and up and running in less then a weeks time. We have a swamp cooler that was running but not cooling. They were able to serve us within a few days, rather than the 2 weeks others quoted. Nice guys, on time, quickly discovered the pump needed replacing. They replaced the pump but still not working. Finally determined they had a faulty pump and had to go get another one. I was a bit bothered to have to pay for the time they spent working on the faulty pump they brought with them, but I guess that is standard practice.

We have an older home that does not have ductwork. Before replacement by MGP, we had older wall furnaces and a swamp cooler. We wanted to replace our old system well a more modern system before the old system broke down in the middle of winter. We received five estimates for this work and had to choose between putting in ductwork and going with a mini split system. We had decided to go with the mini split system before we asked for the estimate from MGP. We liked MGP better than the rest of the companies. There was no BS during the estimate and they offered a reasonable price.
We are delighted with their quality of work. The work was done in a timely manner. As part of the contract, we had also asked them to do a couple of other small jobs relating to our old equipment. They did excellent work on everything they did. We love our new system and are very happy we went with the mini split system. It did a great job during the heatwave this summer and we really enjoy being able to control the temperature and every room. and we are delighted with a 12-year warranty on parts for our Mitsubishi system.

Hate to leave a bad review but here it is. I get referred by a friend to this company who used them recently. Call them, they come out to quote me, spend a half hour at my house. Was looking to convert swamp coolers to HVAC. Next morning the guy who came by to quote me calls me and tells me that my job is too big for their company and they are too busy. So never got to use MGP. They sent me a review link so here it is.

MGP installed a ventilation fan, vents, and thermostat in our outbuilding, which had to be customized. They were prompt and professional in providing a quote and the service, and the work was fairly priced and great quality. I highly recommend them and will use them again for any HVAC needs!

We had our HVAC unit replaced in October. The whole process from estimate to install to billing was really great, we are nice and toasty warm this Winter and shall be nice and cool in the Summer...thanks to everyone at MGP Mechanical !!

Staff were efficient, fixed everything in the time line they had estimated. Installed new controls for well pump, changed hose bib and fixed pump handle.

It took over a week to receive a quote after the initial survey; the quoted prices seemed very reasonable, but I was concerned about the sizing of the unit in my quote. The quote was for a 5-ton unit when other installers were recommending a 4-ton; it wasn't clear that the quoted 96% efficient furnace required a new exhaust to coexist with my water heater, and it would have been helpful to get a quote for an 80% efficient furnace that wouldn't require additional exhaust work..

We had a home inspection that indicated a repair was needed on our hot water heaters. When I spoke to MGP they were very helpful in letting me know what would be needed to do the repairs and scheduled us quickly. When they came out they saw that no repair was actually needed and helped me get all the documentation to show it was working properly. They were quick, honest and very well priced. I would definitely use MGP mechanical for any future needs

I couldn't recommend MGP Mechanical enough! I was in a crunch when one of my AirBNB properties AC's went out in the middle of a heat wave with a guest staying there. I called about 10-15 different AC companies in Albuquerque and no one was able to squeeze me in. Thank goodness I came across MGP! I called and although they were completely booked, they understood my situation and somehow made it work. They came out the same day and got the AC back up and running that evening! I was thrilled. This company is super professional, hard working, and very responsive. So happy I found them.

Wow. These guys were amazing. We had a very difficult heating and AC system that utilized hot water from the water heater to heat the home. Unfortunately that system was no longer serviceable and too costly to keep repairing. So we decided to put in a new furnace, AC and tankless water heater. Install new HVAC unit. This was not an easy job, they had to be creative to get the electrical work from the garage to the second floor and on the roof while trying to get the unit complete before the rainstorm came in.

I highly highly recommend Gerald and his team at MGP mechanical! They were very quick to come out to look at my AC that had stopped working on a super hot day. Other companies were scheduled a week out or longer. Gerald was kind, respectful and very knowledgeable. Parts were replaced but the AC stopped working a second time. They were quick to come back out, and ultimately it all ended up being a difficult repair on a barely 2 year old AC unit. Gerald made sure that my AC was working properly after all of the issues we experienced, including advocating for our warranty to be honored. Awesome job! I needed not one but two water heaters replaced. They took care of both mine and my folks for the reasonable all inclusive price quoted. No hidden extras after the job started, and both were done in one day. They took care to tell me what was going on in the process, and how much longer it would take. First off, I am in no way affiliated with or related to anyone at MGP Mechanical. This is a real testimonial.

My 38-year-old furnace failed, as they are prone to do, just as the weather turned cold! I called MGP and they sent out a technician that same day. I figured that it would be next to impossible to find parts, which was the case. The technician reported the situation back to the office and I promptly received an estimate for a new furnace by E-mail. (If I hadn't called for repair service, their estimator would have come out first.) I accepted the estimate, which was a lot lower than I expected, and included a senior citizen discount. They scheduled a day-and-a-half for the replacement but were done in less than a day. The reception and billing folks were very friendly and professional.
The team of two technicians arrived first thing as scheduled and were cheerful and very polite. They disconnected and uncoupled the poor old unit and removed it. They also hauled it off when they were done. The estimator stopped by a few times during the process and made sure that the techs had everything that they needed. As part of the installation, they brought everything up to code, (electricity and gas), insulated everything and installed a new flue. The installation looks like something out of a brochure. Lastly, they installed a brand-new thermostat and cleaned everything up. MGP even did the online warranty activation for me.
The new furnace is super-efficient and heats the house quietly. I enthusiastically recommend MGP Mechanical for furnace-related issues and I am confident that they will be just as awesome for all plumbing heating and cooling needs. They are my Go-To from now on. (And, even though the above sounds like I work for MGP Mechanical or am in any way connected to them, I do not and am not.) I am just a very satisfied and happy customer.

I am very impressed with this company, starting with Mila (sp?) in the office to the technician, Kenny. I hired them to handle a routine/standard service...opening up my evaporated air unit for the summer. I knew I would learn enough about them to determine if I would want to work with them again. As I was promised, Kenny texted me when he was on his way. Once on site, he listened intently to any questions I asked and was knowledgeable with his answers. You don’t know how many times I’ve had various people in various service industries literally not listen to me so this was huge. He didn’t over recommend or oversell anything either. From
what I could tell, their motto is to provide great service because they realize that’s how they’ll retain their customers and get referrals. When Kenny was finished, he wanted to borrow a broom or a vacuum cleaner to pick up the mess. I was so thrilled that he actually offered and was really going to do it that I told him I’d take care of it. I told my mom about my experience and she called them the same day to schedule a quote on a job that she needs done. I’m also going to look into their maintenance plan because I’ve heard good things.

My experience started with Mila Kirwin, who was very empathetic to the fact that I had been without hot water for some time and was getting me to the top of the appointment schedule. Then, I met with Gerald Peralta who came to troubleshoot my hot water heater’s issue. He called the manufacturer and due to his diligence, he found out that the unit was covered by warranty. He followed up with the manufacturer and got a newer replacement unit for my family. He called me to let me know that I would be receiving a new unit and the only thing I would have to pay for was the installation (not covered by warranty). He also scheduled me for an early appointment the next day to have it installed. The technicians that installed my unit were Gustavo Diaz and his apprentice Ken (didn’t get his last name) were equally professional and cared about my customer experience. We had a problem with rust particles coming from a ceiling duct when operating the evaporative cooler. Gerald with MGP came and evaluated the problem and the aged cooler had a badly rusted fan turbine. He gave us an estimate on replacing the cooler which we accepted, and the installation was scheduled within a week. Eric and Brandon did the install and new cooler works great, so problem solved plus we won't have to worry about that one (we have 2) for a number of years now. Mila informed us the unit should qualify for a PNM rebate so we used the link she provided and are getting a $300 rebate, an added good surprise. Everyone we dealt with were courteous, professional, and efficient. We have no problem recommending MGP Mechanical for your plumbing and HVAC needs.

I had MGP install a Navien tankless hot water heater. They did an outstanding job, and didn't cut any corners. The piping work was professionally done and the entire process was very easy. They came in with a very reasonable price, and did the work on time and correctly permitted everything which can be difficult to find in Albuquerque. I would highly recommend them.

I got estimates from a couple of companies for a gas line installation to put in a gas stove. These guys were way more reasonable and I also got an estimate for replacing my swamp cooler in the spring. They came in about a week and did a great job. The guys were nice and very professional. They also helped me get the old stove out to the curb for pick up! I know they will do a good job with the swamp cooler and have already recommended them to coworkers.

The main concern is that calls placed with questions are not returned. We had a leak caused by the initial installation of the unit that was not discovered until the snow melted. Water caused the ceiling to leak into the hallway. MGP fixed the unit on the roof alright but the damage to the house was only partially repaired. MGP never returned to finish the repair. Also we never received any rebate from PNM as promised & MGP said they would look into it and again we did not receive any response. The employees are great, when they did came, but communication is another matter.

Quick and efficient! Our business’ two hvac units were on their last leg. Came out and suggested replacements since they are over 20 years old. Gave a couple different quotes. Both very reasonable especially compared to other quotes I had received. The whole swap out was done in a day!

Gerald came out to check for an intermittent issue with my Navien Baseboard heating system. Explain to him what I had checked and pictures showing status of system when it failed. Since it only happens about every 2 weeks we discussed what I needed to check when it failed again. Will post final results.

We had some difficulty installing a tricky thermostat that integrated with our security system. We did our research and found that this local ABQ small business has a great reputation. We wanted our AC moved to the roof and we wanted it done right. The owner came on time, did a thorough inspection, spent time explaining the options and giving his professional recommendations. He listened and produced a detailed estimate within a few days. When the team arrived they knew all the details previously discussed and communicated at every stage of the process. When they found a problem with the initial installation (damaged valve due to improper installation by Comfort Solutions) they replaced both valves and charged just for the part. The end result is a system better than when it was first installed and a super clean and professional looking job. Their charges are just slightly higher than the national chain big guys. Well worth it!

We have used MGP Mechanical since we opened our business 5 years ago for all of our plumbing and HVAC needs at our brewery, Boese Brothers Brewery, and at our Boese Brewpub locations. They can do anything, and will figure out what is needed to get the job done no matter how large or small. They installed the water and steam plumbing for our entire brewery operation in our first year, and since then have helped us to install entire bathrooms, triple sinks, dishwashers, grease traps, industrial A/C units, duct work, walk in coolers, and many other things. They are the only company we will ever use for plumbing and HVAC contracting, I cannot recommend these guys highly enough!

I hired MGP to install an Infrared Gas Heater on my enclosed deck. I had a difficult time finding a business to install heat in this area for some reason. MGP was the only company who took my request seriously. They gave me the idea for the heat source, installed it in one day and were reasonable. After reading reviews of MGP Mechanical on Google, we decided to contact them about installing a Navien tankless water heater. The appointment was scheduled within a few days and Gerald walked us through the process and emailed a detailed quote a few hours later. The quote was in the range that we had expected and emailed back that we would go forward. Install was scheduled for a week later which was sooner than we had expected.

Carlos did the install and was professional and friendly, answering questions and clearing things with us as the install progressed. He walked us through the operation and annual maintenance for the unit. Only one day, but very happy with quick hot water so far.

Will definitely consider using MGP again in the future.

Contacted MGP for a warranty repair on our AC. They were available to come assess the issue within a few days, which was much quicker than anyone else in town! They ordered the needed parts and had us up in running in just a few days, which is also much quicker than anyone else in town could do! MGP reps had great communication during the process. MGP reps were knowledgeable about our system. Very happy customer!

Our AC stopped working at our
daughters condo. I have used MGP before to install a hot water heater. I called MGP and left a message. I was immediately called back by Melania. She
scheduled me for a visit on Monday as it was already late Friday. Gerald from MGP showed up on Monday as scheduled. I explained what was going on and he immediately assessed the
issue. He found that one of the Freon connections was loose. He fixed the problem, recharged the system and now our daughters condo is nice and cold. I would recommend MGP to everyone.

We were having problems with our old HVAC unit and were lucky to have Gerald come out the same day. In addition to the office staff being friendly and professional, Gerald came out prepared and organized. He was able to get a new part and fix the problem fairly quickly. We brought up our thoughts of getting a new HVAC unit since ours was so old. He shared information on different units that would fit our needs but put no pressure on us and suggested we wait out our current unit a while longer. We appreciated his upfront, honest, experienced opinion. We’ve used various agencies in the past but will stick with MGP in the future.

We had a very difficult job and a cramped attic to work in. We had no duct work. All ducts and return air had to be installed in addition to the heating and cooling systems. The work crews were great to work with. They arrived early and worked late until the job was done even though they had to travel one hour to the job site.
