A-1 Plumbing & Drain

I would not recommend this service. They turned a simple drain clog into a four hour ordeal and charged for their mistakes. He unclogged the drain with the auger in 20 mins, then got at auger stuck. The young guy (who seemed very inexperienced) was talking on the phone to his girlfriend when he got the thing stuck. He had to call another guy and 4 hrs and $400 later they got it out. Terrible and unprofessional overall.

This place is ¡¡¡AMAZING!!! We recently became homeowners and the 3rd day of us being in the house, our toilet clogged up and poop flowed into our tub. Joe came at 8pm unclogged it within minutes and did us the favor of unclogging the one for our washing machine as well. He was so nice, attentive and really knew what he was doing. Joe literally saved our lives, cant go wrong calling A-1

Great service quick response Highly Recommend them. I can't remember the young man's name,but he was quick and professional. On a very snowy day didn't effect him a bit. He passed his snake several times to make sure he cleared everything.Great Job!!!

I highly recommend A-1 Plumbing. We have been experiencing major problems with the plumbing at our business for the past six months and have had another local well known plumbing company come out and attempt to correct the situation. Unfortunately, they would just come out and do a quick fix and charge their fee. Ernest with A-1 came out and worked very hard to find the problem. He was amazing! We also had to call him out today to fix a problem at a rental home. It took him a few minutes to fix the problem. Great job, Ernest! We definitely will use A-1 for all of our future plumbing needs. I went online to research companies that install swamp coolers.
A-1was listed in the top three for Albuquerque. I'd worked with them before and was very satisfied, both with the the cost and the work. but something seemed amiss this time around. I had called two other contractors. A-1 was the first scheduled for Monday morning, and because the tech a) was running very late and b) never bothered to call to let me know if and when he was coming one of the two had to be rescheduled. It wasn't just the tardiness that bothered me. When the tech showed up on the following day (again, running late), I doubt he was here even 20 minutes and he seemed in a hurry to leave. The only question he asked me was where the swamp cooler was. Never smiled, didn't seem terribly engaged. A week has gone by and I have yet to receive an estimate . . . which is fine, if the company doesn't need my business because they are that busy. I can say this: I will not be calling them again. How should I grade A-1? On returning calls and promptness, the best I can give them is a D. On cost? I'll never know. Never got an estimate. On PR? Nebulous. I WAS comfortable with the receptionist; not so much with the technician. Professionalism?? Hmmm . . . The guy took the measurements, said he'd call his boss, that was it. That combined with the fact that it seemed like a huge imposition for him to even show up and I wondered if he even liked his job, I have to give a flat out F.

A1 Awesome!! EXCELLENT service and leak detection!! Turned out my yard and lines were fine. He found the problem of my flooded yard was from the neighbors broken irrigation for at least the last 4 months. AMAZING!! Highly recommend!!

Earnest did an excellent job! We have had tlc and roto rooter out here and they insisted that we only had one clear out and had to get on the roof. Earnest found the other clear out in 2 seconds and saved us some money. Way to go A-1 you saved the day. At a fraction of the cost too! Highly recommended!

Fantastic company they got out to the property and one day to snake the lines when I talked to six other plumbers were weeks out. The tech Keegan was fantastic ,clean, courteous, and covid safe we did a great job at a very reasonable price!

Keegan came out and went to work. Less than 120 who can complain. I had two employees working on it for a few hours with no results. Next time i know who to call

The technician was very unprofessional and management was unsympathetic to my mother of 94 years
They knew they had to go through the roof but he did not bring long enough equipment so he called someone else to come out with proper equipment. Was charged for the wait time over $300. for a simple backup clog in the drain line. We have been using this company for years and now will never use them ever again.

Reliable to come ASAP when there is an issue. If my issue came back right away or wasn't fixed correctly, they always came back ASAP and fixed it the second time at no cost. I've always been treated well by them. Definitely recommend.

Professional great crew and meticulously fix everything

Called with an issue at my parents home, and they were able to schedule it the same afternoon. Nick showed up and worked very hard and got them taken care of. Great people willing to take care of the customer.

Like so many who've left reviews, sadly I must add my own extremely unfortunate experience. I was extremely over-charged. Because the technician arrived early, I was grossly overcharged by the company; they made me pay an extra $160 for the tech to drive back to albuquerque instead of waiting. When I called to request a refund management said that it was my fault for not contacting them right away.
As someone who know little about plumbing and business practices of plumbers, I felt that I had no choice regarding my bill. These people have violated my trust in the industry.
I implore anyone who reads this DO NOT TRUST A1 PLUMBING as they will rip you off by any means that they can.

When I bought my house 4 years ago ish the septic system was brand new. A1 installed the system and did the inspection before I bought the house. The septic system has been leaking the entire time I have lived here. A1 sent some one out 3 times so far and still have not fixed the problem. I will leave this one star up until the problem is fixed.

They were professional, polite, and very efficient.

Was referred to them by my realtor to fix a leak in a pipe in my front yard. Spoke with someone who was going to give the message to the plumbing department - never heard back from them. This seems to be an Albuquerque thing - but I've started leaving reviews like this so that others moving from places where businesses do not behave like this know not to waste their time. Obviously would prefer to give them 0 stars if I could.

Charged us $1,100 for an after-hours drain clearance, which I'd have been GLAD to pay if it had fixed the problem. We live in the middle of nowhere, these guys were recommended to us, and I very much appreciated A-1 being able to send somebody same-day.

While the plumber was working and having trouble clearing the drain, he said that if he couldn't get it clear, our next best option would be to demolish part of the bathroom and take a jackhammer to the foundation to snake the pipe - we were understandably shocked. That seemed like an awful extreme step... going straight from I can't get the snake to go where I want to let's do structural damage to your house, but we assumed he knew what he was talking about because... he's the plumber, right? But I digress...

After another tense hour (3 total), he finally got the water to go down, we were super relieved, and he packed up to go. When the plumber left he didn't mention to us that his work had no warranty, or that the drain might require additional attention in the future - he said that it was clear, and we believed him.

Turns out, while he did get the water to go down, he obviously didn't clear the obstruction. It was right back to having trouble a week later - or at least it took us a week to notice, because we found out later that it takes nearly 15gal of water before the showers start to backfill. With all water-efficient fixtures, I guess there has to be a real confluence of water usage to cause a noticeable backup.

I called A-1 to ask if there was anything we could do, and the manager wouldn't return my call - instead, he sent the poor dispatcher to call and tell me, nothing we can do, no warranty, too bad, folks.

So now we're going to have to get ANOTHER plumber to do the same job. EDIT: Second plumber spent 1.5 hours pulling additional items from the drain - see attached picture.

Don't go throwing good money after bad - find a company who takes pride in their work, and values the time and money of their customers. EDIT: At best this is professional negligence, and at worst it's fraud. Unbelievable laziness and complacency.

Jerry came out and took care of the water heater issue.. quickly and professional!! Could not be happier!! Great service and great price!!!

This company did not give me A1 service I asked them to come and fix a clogged pipe or at least figure out what’s clogging it. They didn’t fix it and this was the second company I called. $135 later and I still have a clog. Don’t let reception chew you out either.

As a landlord I have to call plumbers often. I have used A1 multiple times from snakes to major plumbing repairs. They show up on time and take care of the situation in a timely and professional manner. I will be using then again in the future.

The guys were absolutely amazing. We had a shower drain backing up. They found it with minimal wall cutting. Even the hole was nicely done with an access panel for future easy access. The guys were polite and clean. Definitely the best plumbers we've ever had.

Super disappointed with there customer service. I have used them loyalty for 3 years and they double charged my client and would not take responsibility. They did an additional inspection and never told us we would be double charged. Told them my client (a single mother) didnt have the money and they said that was not there problem.

Had same day appointment. A call to say they would be late would have been great but I had to call to find out. When they called to say on the way, it was another 45 minutes till arrival. Work was done quickly and tech was polite.

We had a french drain installed by A-1 in July of 2020. During the installation they inadvertently damaged our main line and we didn't know it until Sept. of 2022. It turns out that a tooth from the excavator punctured the top of the main line and it took that long for something to get caught on it, but it eventually backed up into the house. Once we discovered what the issue was, I called about having it serviced under warranty. Dave came out to assess the situation and when he saw the video he immediately owned the situation and said... Yup, looks like we accidentally caught the pipe! They had it repaired and we were back up and running within 2 days of the initial conversation. I really appreciate their honesty and commitment to getting the job done right, two qualities which feel harder to come by these days.

Everything is working great again!

$90.00 to pull hair out of the drain. And that was with a 10% senior discount. Arrived at 1:04 and was gone at 1:40 Prices have gotten outrageous.

I have had great experiences with this company for the last 3 years. I have had small jobs and big projects done. The small projects are done well, with quick turnaround time, and communication usually goes well. Communication is a little more broken up for big jobs, but not enough that I would knock a star. They do quality work and the technicians are always nice and helpful. I will continue to use them.

I had a sewer scope done for pre-closing on my house I'm selling. There was a small lip where the pipe goes into the street. The pipes were completely clear and there was nothing built up or accumulating at the lip. The plumber even said he would put in the report that because we had clean-outs and never had a problem with draining issues we should be fine. He never included that in the report. And then the company submitted a quote to redo the pipes up to the street which was $3000! THAT'S GARBAGE! They just wanted an easy opportunity to cheat me out of $3000. I strongly deter anyone from using them. They will just insist on doing work that doesn't need to be done in order to make money off of anyone.

Patty( Pattie) was extremely professional and sweet on the phone. I called because our sewer alarm went off , and they scheduled a technician for me to make sure there wasn’t any other issues than from having it pumped. Ernest M was very professional, personable, honest , and thorough with his work. If it wasn’t for Ernest M we wouldn’t of known where our sewer clean out line is, which, he helped get it schedule to get it found on our property.
I also like that they work with American pumping and the service technician Damon that came out to pump our tank was in communication with Ernest M.
I highly recommend this company and would use them for all my septic needs of repair.

A-1 Plumbing is top notch...we had been experiencing an intermittent sewer smell at our house over the past couple weeks. On 3 different occasions we thought we had 'fixed/found' the problem, as the smell would disappear for 2 days. Then it would come back. A different company came to the house last week to do a smoke test to detect where there might be a leak. Let's just say that appointment was a waste of time. I first called A-1 to have our main drain cleaned, just in case that was the issue. Matt was great...punctual, friendly, polite, he encouraged my questions, even made some suggestions re: our sewer smell. Briefly my husband considered doing the smoke test himself, to save money, but we decided to have A-1 do it. First, their price was considerably less than other places I called (bonus!). I requested Matt, so he and his co-worker (I don't recall his name, started with a K) arrived on time and proceeded to do the smoke test. Fortunately the leak was detected immediately and it was in the attic crawl space, not anywhere inside the house, which was our biggest concern. The 2 guys fixed the leak then performed another smoke test to be sure the problem was resolved. Patty, in the office, was friendly and polite as well. Actually, everyone I spoke to on the phone was nice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend A-1 to anyone who's having plumbing issues. We're incredibly relieved to have the sewer smell resolved.
