I called White’s recently to replace a leaking 3 foot section of cast iron sewer line.

After calling 6 other local plumbers, White’s was the only one able to stop by the day the leak started, temporarily repair it, and come back the next day to complete the job. They were decent, courteous, neat, and fast.

However, they charged $2400 in labor for a repair that took 4 hours and about $50 in parts. I expected to pay more for an emergency repair, but not to be taken.

If you are willing to pay a premium, White’s will do an excellent job. However, if you can, I’d recommend shopping around.

Adam and Arlindo came to my house this morning to address a bathroom sink and kitchen InSinkErator issue after I called just last night. Adam gave me very transparent estimates on my options available beforehand.

They both worked expeditiously on one item apiece with limited disruption to my getting office work done at home. Would definitely recommend company and use again for any plumbing problems going forward. Nicely done!

I reached out to Frank after receiving a quote from another plumber. He was so helpful, quick to respond, came to assess, explained his assessment to me and offered a couple of options to repair vs replace, water was running and the other plumber had said it couldn’t be fixed for 3 days, Frank replaced the toilet the next morning and for the price the other plumber was going to repair it for. I really appreciated his helpful communication, transparency and his appreciation of stopping the running of water so I wasn’t wasting water and money for multiple days. Thank you!

I found Anthony and his crew at Drain Flow a few years ago through a google search as I was looking for some plumbing help. Since then I have used the service several times and have been very satisfied each time. Anthony and his crew do great work, get there fast, and communicate incredibly well throughout the whole process. I will continue to use them as issues come up, and I have no doubt that they will continue to provide great help!

If I’m ever asked, “do you know a good plumber?” My answer will be...I have a great one! I called Nick, last night and asked if he could quote me for replacing a garbage disposal and a time of when he could come install it. Instead of him providing me with that info, he asked me what was wrong with it. After I explained the problem, he then asked me if I had tools and some time for him to explain what I needed to do. I said yes, and he explain exactly what I needed to do to remedy the problem. I followed his instructions and problem fixed!

I had this same problem at my parents house and a different plumber charged my parents $1,000 to replace it, instead of what I was explained to do.

I had an emergency situation where my outdoor hose spigot was leaking aggressively and pooling at the foundation. I had to turn off the water to my house since I didn’t have a control valve for that spigot alone.

So it was urgent, I called and they were able to send someone out that morning! The plumber came with the parts needed, finished the work efficiently, and even came in to help with an unrelated clog/slow drain.

The work was great and the price was more than fair, very happy with the work.

My kitchen sink shut off valves failed and got chunks of rubber all up in my faucet, making my kitchen sink totally unusable. Sillari sent plumbers first thing the next morning and they were able to fix the valves and clear the blockage. The two plumbers were very nice and super respectful about wearing a mask in my home.

Highly recommend Bill … did a great job installing our new hot water heater and has been helpful with a handful of issues that popped up over the years.

I have been a long-time customer of Boston Standard, in fact I pay them a monthly fee which is supposed to include two annual system inspections and priority service. I had the summer AC inspection scheduled last week, and waited all day for a technician that never showed up. I rescheduled for today and it happened again. Despite receiving confirmation texts, no one ever arrived. Boston Standard has been extremely unresponsive and unapologetic. If this is their priority service, I can’t even imagine how they are treating everyone else. I waited 20 minutes on hold, but no one answers their phones either. Look elsewhere for service.

After providing good reviews for Ernie, I am now back here since my experience did change.

Ernie installed all the plumbing in my property, including a brand new Navien boiler. His job took 6 months to complete and by then, it was already summer so the new tenants did not need to use the heater.

Fast forward to October/November when the winter started, the brand new boiler started to shut down daily. I immediately reached out to him to fix the issue and like other reviews stated, it was everyone’s fault but his. It took him 7 months to fix the issue ( now again summer time). I still don’t know if it is fixed as the heat does not need to be on.

I spent well over 50-60k on plumbing work on him, and in the end, I looked at the numbers for my last invoice which I paid without reading( my fault) and discovered that I had overpaid him 1650 extra.

After trying to resolve this issue with him, and after I pointed out to him they the items on that invoice were already paid for, he then came up with an excuse as to why he charged this amount, according to him he spent 6 hours at 250 per hour to install a small baseboard on a tiny bathroom that was already installed by another plumber, it literally just needed to be connected, and did not take 6 hours, he definitely inflated the hours he worked on but instead of him being honest and refund the overpayment, he made up 6 hours of work that he never quoted for just to justify not refunding the overpayment.

In summary, Ernie acts and wants to charge like a pro, but his work, lack of knowledge and his sneaky ways of invoicing his customers determined the fraud he really is. If you are thinking about using him just be aware. Slow work, too many excuses and incompetent.

Had an appointment and they did not show up, call, or respond to my text asking if they were still coming. Now I have to find someone else to fix the leak under my sink. Very disappointing.
