After dealing with two places that blatantly tried to rip me off (one wanted $1100 to change an inducer motor which is a $100/15 min job) I ended up replacing most of my furnace parts myself by watching youtube videos and finding the parts on amazon/ebay. It's about as simple as unplugging and plugging the new part in most of the time, but with the blower motor I ended up tightening a screw too tight and it locked the shaft onto the housing. I called Aabbott Ferraro and I couldn't possibly have been happier with Tim, the tech who managed to fix something that had been a nightmare for me to deal with. The hourly rate seemed high, but he worked quick and efficiently despite the unusual problem I created, so the final bill was much lower than expected. Thanks Tim! The owner and the person answering the phone were also helpful. I can't speak for the other techs there, but I would definitely recommend this company anyone having furnace issues.

I have worked with Service Today on multiple projects over the last 5 months and every single individual I have worked with has been wonderful! From the call center to the sales folks to the technicians who have done the electrical and HVAC work I have had top notch service. Had McQuillan out to quote me to move a gas line for my stove/kitchen reno. They told me I had a major leak in my existing lines and they recommend I do a complete removal/install. They tried to scare me into making a VERY expensive decision on the spot, by saying it was so bad that they should honestly shut the gas off right then and there. I was able to get them out of my house and I have since had 2 other gas plumbers take a look at everything. The other 2 companies BOTH said my existing lines are fine, and also quoted me THOUSANDS of dollars less. Not impressed whatsoever with this business. I felt bad for the guy in training, I could tell that he was thinking this quote was a total joke.

We needed to get a new boiler and had multiple places come out to do a bid. Not only was Metro the best value, but they were so easy to work with. Andrew S and Josh A were our two technicians, and they did a fantastic job. Then, once they finished, Andrew didn't laugh at us (at least not to our faces) when we had him give us a step by step guide on how to do everything with our new boiler. (We took copious notes and, again, he didn't laugh.) Our new boiler takes up SO much less space, is energy efficient, and we're so pleased with our experience with Metro Heating and Cooling.

I had a bathroom faucet that had been a problem since I updated my old pipes to copper. I ordered new parts but never got around to fixing it. More than I could handle. Adam did a fantastic job assessing the problem step by step and explaining as he did the work. I am so grateful for Adam's attention to detail and willingness to fix the problem. This was our first time using Bonfe- we are very happy with the quick turnaround to repair our A/C (in very hot weather). From the first phone call to the follow up- very professional and pleasant experience.

Our experience with Ryan this past Sunday was fantastic. First, he answered the phone when I called at approximately 11:15 PM the night before to inquire about an AC repair once we realized that it had broken. Then, he arrived promptly at 11:00 AM the following morning (having given us an arrival time window of 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM) and began assessing the problem. He worked diligently until our AC was fixed, finishing up within approximately one hour. It has worked great ever since! While no-one wants to face the hassle or expense of an unexpected appliance repair I would absolutely recommend Krinkie's to anyone with Heating or AC needs. They've been great!

This is the second year we have had a service contract with Apollo. I have been happy up to this point. They were out to check the AC and found the Capacitor needed to be replaced after the technician checked it. He had removed it, had it in his hand and tested it again. He said it would be best if it was replaced and we would probably save a service call down the line. He put a new one in for $152.00 after my 10% discount. Now mind you he was already out here for the AC check-up and had the capacitor out to check it. I asked to have the old one and he gave it to me. Needless to say I did some checking and I later found the exact same one in North St Paul for $15.00 out the door. I know it didn't cost this guy $15.00 and he made some money off of me. I am pissed that Apollo charged me $152.00 for a part that joe citizen can get for $15.00. I realize they have other costs involved, like keeping parts on hand, but 1,000 %. I called and asked for a partial refund but no luck. I could see them charging me say, $50.00 for the part, but $152.00.... No More Apollo for me. BTW the technician was great !

Nate was great at explaining how the K5 drinking water filtration system functioned. He worked with us as far as where the location of the tanks could go and showed us how to access everything. The way the system was installed allowed us to still have the storage underneath our sink for cleaning supplies and such. Nate was able to put the housing of the filters in our pantry and then connect it to the refrigerator. Nate was very kind and courteous, and made sure to clean up after he had to drill through the granite and drywall in order to access our refrigerator to tie the drinking system into the refrigerator. Can’t wait to have awesome water come through the fridge and ice machine!

Had Soderlin come out to evaluate my mini-split. The tech was extremely thoughtful in the evaluating the situation and just charged the service evaluation fee with some advice to do a simple fix. Really appreciated that he didn’t gouge me with what turned out to be a simple filter issue. 👍

They arrived almost an hour late without an apology. A courtesy phone call would have been appreciated. They then sent us a bill $200 over the quote, totaling almost $800, for less than an hour of work for a simple task with minimal parts. When we called to question the bill they could not justify the increased cost and also claimed they had no way of itemizing the charge. The bill just states labor and materials with a round number. They did allow the original quote, but still VERY questionable business practices. It's clear they will take advantage of customers if you aren't careful. Would not recommend.

I called late on a Sunday evening because one of our bathroom sink valves inexplicably broke and was spraying water all over the bathroom. I expected them to charge an arm and a leg for an emergency visit but Ken calmly talked me through a quick fix that would hold us over until Monday morning when a technician could come during regular hours. Our tech, Corey, came over right away on Monday morning and fixed the issue. Ken saved us hundreds by talking me through a fix instead of sending someone and Corey was awesome and fixed the pipe within 30 minutes. I was blown away by how quickly they were able to respond and help. I highly recommend!!!

$617 for an $80 part and hour of labor.....never again

Our 19 year old water heater started leaking. Called several plumbing companies for estimates. A.J. Alberts was quick to respond, gave a quick and great price estimate. Colin came out and did a great job installing, and left the place very clean. We've used A.J. Alberts on a couple different instances and I can very highly recommend them!
