Cyrus & Josh were fantastic! They were great at explaining what our issues were and patient with us as we eventually learned that it was actually a city problem and not a house owner’s problem. It ended up being just a trip charge in the end but they didn’t make us feel bad about coming out and assessing our water problem, quoting us and spending the time with us.

We had a very good experience with Ken, the plumber assigned to our work. We ultimately did not hire this company, though, because we learned that the work was really quite easy to do, and that we would do it ourselves. He helped us to know this.I was glad to learn this, because once we got the estimates of the work to be done, we were shocked by how expensive it was! My husband and I were clear that there was no way the work to be done was worth that amount of money. Ken was totally understanding! We appreciated that. We paid the service visit charge and were happy with the encounter.

I was told the plumber would be ready to discuss water softeners and salt free alternative options from a variety of manufacturers. When they arrived they only pushed for the sole brand of equipment McQuillan chooses to carry. Then came the quote. Nearly $1700 dollars just to install and dispose of the old equipment if I choose to supply my own softener. My house is <10 years old there is nothing complex or cumbersome about my plumbing setup. So we are talking about a couple hours of labor for $1700. That is unacceptable. I recommend finding a trusted local plumber.

Our 8 year old water heater died and after seeing how long it would take to get new parts, we decided to just have it replaced.Our technician was very friendly and the work that was done was great, but it was definitely overpriced. We wanted a quick fix and decided to bite the bullet on the cost, but they WAY overcharge for labor. A quick google search shows the water heater they installed is around $1100 and the total cost was over $2500 installed. I get why companies use flat rate install costs vs per hour but after the tech finished in 2 hours and told us it was the quickest install he had ever done, it added a little salt to the wound.Again the work was great and I would happily pay a little extra for the speed it was taken care of.. but I definitely overpaid. If you have the time to get another quote, do it!

I can't say enough about McQuillan Brothers. I called the office just to ask about an estimate and Brook was amazing with the BEST customer service I have experienced in a long time. I was called back by Ben / Andy who was fantastic by the way he explained everything to detail. They sent Mark out to do my plumbing estimate. He contacted me and was on time and explained things in detail and was very personable. He kept it in my range I was looking for and the job he did was total quality work. He also cleaned up after himself.I also had Andy come out and give me a estimate on air conditioning units. He was honest, personable and I understood everything he explained to me.I couldn't recommend a better company to work with for plumbing and AC.From the very first phone call with Brook, to all the guys that were involved, Ben, Andy and Mark. Thank you for your fantastic service!!This company has all the old school genuine traits you could ask for ina business.

They charged me 500 bucks to replace a shower faucet cartridge. It was less than 15 min of work and a 50 dollar part. The price was way too high for such a simple repair. I would understand 250-300 bucks but 500 is excessive for that repair.

A team from McQuillan recently installed fan coil air conditioning in my 100-year-old home in Saint Paul. They were timely, professional, and the end result looks so wonderful! I am thrilled. I worked especially with Mike Krauth and he was responsive and helpful in every interaction.

tech showed up, showed me my options, was professional and friendly. customer service sold me, or I would have taken the quote and reevaluated my options. A little pricy but the quality and service was worth it. Great electronic communication during the project.

McQuillan did an excellent job of taking care of me. I worked a week of overtime and came home to a 48-degree home on Friday night. Kenny was my first point of contact, and his concern for my home was clear. He reassured me that I would be taken care of as soon as possible. My technician, Nick, was in my furnace within 45 minutes. His experience and expertise was evident as soon as he arrived at my home, having diagnosed the problem within minutes. Furthermore, Nick was incredibly cheerful, especially considering that I was his last call at the end of a long day of emergency services. Nick clearly explained my different options for resolution, and he was clear about the cost of each option. I am beyond satisfied with the care and service that I received, and will recommend McQuillan to others in the future. Great job!

We were very impressed with this company from beginning to end. They were prompt in setting an appointment, diagnosing the problems, explaining our options, quick date for installation. They came, were very friendly and really seemed to know all the ins and outs of how to do a neat and efficient job. They cleaned up after themselves, then showed us what they did and how to operate our new furnace, humidifier and AC.

They quoted me over $700 for a job that should take about an hour. While the job looked kind of intimidating to me, a random homeowner with no experience doing that kind of work, it should be a walk in the park for a professional. I supplied the part and to say that labor for one hour should be over $700 is frankly absurd. All it was was replacing a faulty part on the water heater. It required no special tools and no special knowledge.I paid them the $20 consult fee and sent them on their way. I’ll find another way.

Conor Laughlin did very timely and excellent work installing our new water heater. He is a very personable young man and I can highly recommend him.

If you're in a pickle, they do it once, they do it right, and they replace it with the right parts. I was in a pickle. I paid for the $250 after hours / weekend service call, then the $718 with the $100 off coupon so $618. If you're a regular customer you get a better deal then that, but I really don't plan on being in such a bad situation again.If you're hoping for the cheapest guy these guys don't do that. But he was a nice guy. Honest, hard working. He gave me the quote before he started.For reference he replaced 1 rusted galvanized steel pipe with a brass fitting, copper pipe, new quarter turn value. Then hooked it up to the toilet.So over all. He did a good job, was good to work with, just a bit pricey. In the future I'll probably get a few quotes.

The guys were very nice and professional. The service was next day which was very nice and they gave me the option for same day. I was very pleased.

We recently bought a new house and it didn’t have a bath fan in the bathroom. I called on Thursday and they did all of the electrical for it on Monday and the venting on Wednesday. They were very efficient, explained in detail what they were going to do before they did it. I highly recommend.

Nate, the technician sent to my home, was very good. I had a main drain problem that he diagnosed and took care of for me as well as some other drain work. He was professional, worked quickly, was very neat, very kind, and explained options thoroughly but was not pushy. I would use them again.

This company seems to be a very well-oiled machine. The people are very friendly and insightful, and I didn't feel pressured at all, which is really saying something. I had two guys out (for two different projects) and they were both wonderful. Each assessed my situations quickly, competently, professionally and completely. I felt good about the options presented to me and will definitely be hiring them for my plumbing and HVAC projects. Matt & Nick were two of the friendliest people I've ever met, and I've met a lot of friendly people. Definitely recommend.

I was given a receipt with a total. Nothing was broken down to show the cost per service. I wasn't told why something needed to be done, this was included in charges. They had to tear my ceiling up. They didn't tell me I had to pay to put it back together. Ask many questions. Don't ask won't tell. Smh!!! Very over priced🤨

Steve was great installing a new gas line for our dryer. He also took the time to find and repair a couple small gas leaks to keep us safe. Great price and completed same day!

I have been a customer for years, and have spent a lot of money having McQuilan service our home. I called them out recently to inspect a non-functioning garbage disposal that they installed 6 years ago. After telling me the unit was fried and that it would cost $1,200 to replace (what a joke!), the technician put the unit back but didn't hook it back up correctly. I went to run a load of dishes later, and had water gushing out all over my floor - a huge mess to clean up and I had a broken leg at the time. I was charged $69 for the visit and have called several times since to get my money refunded. I am put on long holds and then told a manager will call me back. He never calls me back. This is NOT an acceptable way to treat any customer, let alone one that has been loyal for years. Sadly, I can not recommend this company to anyone anymore. Their prices are ridiculous and their customer service has tanked.

Mike was awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable. No high pressure sales tactics just plenty of useful information. I would recommend him to friends and family with absolutely no reservation. We just received the estimate a few minutes and are thinking it over but it looks good.

Service was fast and efficient. They suggested few improvements without paying to much. I appreciate the information and I may consider their membership. Professional so far.

I had a problem with my main drain and after the problem was not fixed the first time they returned immediately and with the expertise of Craig Courney and Carter Olson the problem was corrected. I admire a company that does the right thing and will not stop until the problem is corrected.

Had a new garbage disposal installed. Plumber was knowledgeable and did a good job answering my questions and giving me options and explaining things in general and was pleasant to deal with. Happy with the experience. Prices do seem to be a little on the high side, but satisfied with the work.

I recently hired McQuillan Bros to install a high-efficiency combination boiler and water heater. A waterconditioner was also installed during this process. The project required removing the old system fromthe 1950s (estimated) and the rats nest of pipes from previous owner’s DIY ‘patches’.The price for the complete system was around $23,000, which was within the industry norm per Google.The initial visit was $65.The Navien system that was installed did have some issues that required about 5 or 6 additional visits tofigure out that required additional work. There was no charge added for any of this work and thecompany was very prompt with getting technicians on the scene (i.e. early morning next day if afterhours).Members of the McQuillan Bros team that should be recognized for their hard work, attention to detailand patience while explaining the system. The original install team of Clint, Jack, Arial, Sean, Derek andLogan. Melissa in the office was very helpful in checking and following up progress from the team. Theseveral techs that helped troubleshoot should also be recognized, but I do not have their names.

McQuillan installed my boiler in 2021 and have been out a few times since for regular maintenance. They have always been professional, friendly, and I think they do good work. They probably are not the cheapest option out there, but I think they have fair prices and you are paying for great service.

They had a technician out to look at my furnace within an hour of when I first called them. The tech was super friendly, willing to answer all of my questions and explain what he was doing. He worked quickly and neatly to identify and resolve the issue.

Aaron installed a waterline for my new refrigerator. He was professional, courteous, and most importantly, respectful of my home. I highly recommend their services.

Steve Enstrom showed up shortly after I called about a bunch of issues I had been putting off that needed attention. He was so patient in listening to my list of concerns , looking them over , then talking it all over with me. This was so helpful in deciding what to tackle first and then put the rest of the issues in order of urgency. My water was really bad , he found the problem, and then went to great lengths to get rid of the problem . He then installed a new water softener system, that due the way our old house was designed , turned into quite a bit more work than we had anticipated . He was calm in finding solutions that would be best for my overall expense . The work ended up being more than we could have anticipated. He was working at my house nearly all day and couldn’t have been more professional , patient with my overly friendly dogs , and was all around pleasant to have around . He did a wonderful job and I couldn’t be more happy with my new system and how expertly it was installed. I highly recommend this company, and if you get Steve as the person who shows up you won’t be disappointed !!

Had any emergency they came out quick they were professional and knowledgeable. Got to the bottom of the issue fast.

He said 90% sure it wasn’t frozen pipes. But he couldn’t fix the problem. Suggested a new furnace. We bought 2 space heaters, placed them along areas where pipes may have froze, and got the heat working fine after several hours.

After 22 years our A/C unit was in need of replacement. We were fortunate enough to have the installation done quickly and efficiently by Clint and Jack. They arrived ahead of schedule and completed the work in a timely manner along with giving us advice as to how to best maintain the new system.

Strong recommend. The previous owner in our home did a DIY AC job and when it finally went bust, we had a challenging summer time AC attic repair on our hands. Josh and mike took the time to explain how things went wrong and how there would be some extra work needed and make sure the right size unit and parts were put in place during the install (and would fit in a tight space). Other local HVAC companies wouldnt even consider doing a summer time attic intstall, nevermind a more difficult one.

Used McQuillan Brothers in the past and was happy to use them again. My current issue was a leaky water filter which caused the area under my sink to be soaked. I had McQuillan Brothers diagnose the issue as well as had them look at a few other plumbing things I wanted done while they were there.They laid it out plainly my options and the pricing for those options. It was pretty straight forward and simple. They were polite and upfront the whole time. No pushy sales or pressure at all which I always appreciate. Once they had the parts and were back the work went by fast. Took them just over two hours to get everything done and it looks great.Best thing of all, no plumber crack no even once.

This transaction made me sad. I ended up cancelling the service mid-transaction.I know just enough about my AC unit to ask questions. This seemed to annoy the tech. That was understandable--especially early in the morning--even I annoy myself that early. But then he began quizzing me in a patronizing way when he was going to push to upsell me. By the time he was telling me we should freon charge, I didn't trust him. He had said things on the exterior of the house like he knew the AC unit was on-- he could tell. What?!? It wasn't on. I had it off. That doesn't even make sense. We had a lot of communication errors that felt like unnecessary challenges or conflict.Anyway...the part they were going to replace(the capacitor) is a $15-30 part and they charge $600+. I honestly would have paid it as it's my error in not knowing and he was out to fix it, but I was pushed over the edge when we got in disagreement over a freon charge he was trying to scare me into though we don't know of a leak. The total he was working up to would have been over 3k. It felt predatory.I told the fellow we started off on the wrong foot and he removed the part. Awkward and a weird way to start a day. I actually felt bad for the guy because he seemed stressed and tired (aren't we all?)My tenants said they thought I should post something as they thought the interaction was weird. That was validating as I was trying to repair the unit for them and they agreed I did the right thing sending him away. I mean no harm to the business or the tech...this could have been one-time experience...but this is also the type of experience I dread when calling a technician for help on my home.There is always the chance that it was just bad communication between us. But also..maybe not.Just advocate for yourself,and if you have someone out, ask questions

Everything with McQuillan Bros was excellent. I needed to replace an old furnace. The first person to come out was Nathan King who was very transparent and answered all of my questions. He gave me a quote that came in under what some other companies had quotes. Then, I spoke with Niall on the phone. He was very understanding and we came up with a payment plan that worked for me.On the day of the install, Shawn, Jack, and Kyle were amazing. I was so impressed by how efficiently they worked. They worked hard and were very professional even in an attic on a very hot day. When it was all said and done, there were no surprises. I paid exactly what they quoted me. I would 100% recommend this company.

We had Matt come over and fix our garbage disposal. Another company was going to charge a service call fee a diagnostic fee and then parts and labor. He came out was very informative and fun to work with. Most important the whole job was very reasonable as far as total cost. I would recommend them for any plumbing job.

HVAC tech Josh was great. He fixed the furnace problem and offered recommendations on future maintenance. He was very professional. My only complaint is that it took a week to get our appointment and we are supposedly “priority” customers- we pay for the plan to get twice a year servicing and priority scheduling. This should be improved. Thanks.

Lucas was very professional and diligent about his work. Very friendly as well. He troubleshot and fix the problem in a very timely manner and from what I understand it was a difficult not common problem. Super impressed and would definitely call again.

Chad came out to give a quoteestimate and was very professional, courteous and efficient. He assessed the project and gave us all the answers to our questions, plus more. I would definitely recommend McQuillan Bros to anyone. Their booking and dispatching was efficient and effective and given the fact we are without hot water currently, they made every effort to be expeditious as well.

I asked these guys to come out and estimate an outdoor gas line for my generator. Steve immediately felt genuinely interested in listening to my needs with a reasonable solution.

Pros: They got a tech out quickly and their phone staff we polite and prompt with communications.Negatives: We felt that they were trying to fear monger, use the threat of red tagging, and a perceived lack of knowledge to get us to buy a complete new boiler system for a rental property.Luckily, we do have general knowledge of these systems and got a second opinion from our usual plumber as well as a third opinion to be doubly sure. System was fine, needed a few small fixes to get working and meet safely standards. Repairs and safety concerns addressed with another company cost us 2k. It would have cost us 15k to 22k if we had followed McQuillan Bros initial recommendations which included bringing out an engineer, replumbing the entire boiler system and runs to radiators, new boiler, etc. Etc.Conclusions: Make sure to get a second bid.

Working with Andy has been wonderful! He's been extremely knowledgable and very transparent about the services being provided. Will definitely continue to work with McQuillan!

Very professional, kinda, and quality. I was looking to get three estimates before replacing my water heater. Unfortunately, I was not able to move forward as their pricing was a bit too high. However, I would definitely recommend based on knowledge and ability to explain what is and is not needed.

Service tech was great to work with,five ⭐ but he should have let me know that they don't do business with home service companies, I let him know that this is a home service warranty fix at the beginning My problem was diagnosed and did not inform the home service company of all the details that were needed, because McQuillen's refused to send any more info of the main cause of the problem, so I ended up paying for this myself 800$, I believe they should ben upfront with a customer and let them know that they are not willing to deal with home service warranty companies in the beginning.

Troy & Jack came to my home promptly after texting. They did a whole home furnace/thermostat/central air rip out & replacement. Covered all the carpets they walked on and were done in 5 hours!! Amazing job and cleaned up everything. Glad to have central AC again.

These guys were amazing! Very professional and on time, and a much better price than anyone else I had come out. They were actually less than a third of the price that Bonfe was quoting us! They were clean and got the job done exactly to our liking and I couldn't recommend more. Derek Kast was our technician and he was respectful and very good at what he does. I really like that they didn't try to talk us into a plan or other services, we'll definitely use this company in the future and will tell our friends about them!

Andy stopped to address my concerns with the water pressure, he took the time to listen and made a minor adjustment. He's always friendly and helpful.

I called 3 plumbing companies when a pipe burst in my basement. I could not wait the 5 days from those companies. . McQuillin came within the hour and was great. The pipe was fixed and our water was turned back on.

Techs were professional, skilled. Moved linearly from task to task till finished. No backtracking or mistakes. Then gave good info about how to operate the equipment. Cleaned up work area very well. Also polite and friendly and good with our puppy dog.

Caleb was a wonderful technician. Very thorough and respectful. He helped walk me through everything and made me feel confident in what was going on. He taught me so much and walked me through each step to feel secure in understanding my system. He also advised about their maintenance plan for preventative annual care. I feel secure in knowing that someone will be looking at everything I don’t understand to help prevent issues if possible. Caleb did a FANTASTIC job.

AC unit was blowing warm air. McQuillan Bros came out to see what the issue was. Issue ended up being a capacitor issue by the factory and we're able to replace it on the spot and get AC working again. Thank you!

This was the 3rd time my sewer needed snaking since Sept. I had gone with cheaper competitors before. I was happy with my furnace installation, so I decided to give Mcquillan a try. Caden was awesome!!! Got the roots that the previous companies hadn't even touched. THANK YOU!!!

UPDATE: McQuillan brothers ended up calling us three months later to schedule additional maintenance - they never cancelled our program. When I asked to talk to a manager, they told me that I couldn’t get a refund on the service since we had “saved” money on it already from using their overpriced services. They had no interest in fixing the mistake they made - they only care about getting every dollar out of their customers. Terrible, terrible customer service. When they had the chance to make it right, they failed.ORIGINAL REVIEW:We signed up for the McQuillan Brothers annual maintenance program, but so far that is a sham. They scheduled our HVAC inspection appointment in the fall that was included in the program, but canceled it due to short staffing. Then, now in the thick of winter, they canceled it again due to short staffing, saying they have to push it off for another month. Then when we complained that we shouldn’t have to wait until the middle of winter for this service, they guilt tripped us and said that they were taking a tech off of a person’s no heat call to take care of our checkup. At that point we cancelled both their reschedule and the program, but they said they would not refund the prorated subscription for the appointments they could not follow through on. Overall, this company has expanded too quickly, doesn’t value their program’s commitments, or their customers. They overcharge on services and use the program to bring prices down to make it seem like you are getting a “deal.” I would be very wary using McQuillan brothers services.

We had air conditioning installed by McQuillan Bros last week. The job was top-notch. We are very pleased with the professional manner and communication of the people we dealt with. The materials and components used were of high quality and good value. The installation was completed promptly and as promised.

Our basement utility shower is now cleaned up and functional.

Very pleased with the McQuillan folks who bid and installed our new system. We had a very cramped space to install our unit and the crew worked super hard to get it in place and working smoothly! Would recommend to friends and neighbors.

A winter storm sent tree branches onto our power supply lines, ripping the mast off the house and damaging the meter box. McQuillan was responsive and able to send a crew the next day. Grant provided the estimate and explained the work needed. He was later joined by Jason and Logan as work progressed. It was a more complex and expensive job than I anticipated, but Grant explained in detail how code requirements affected the job and upgrades that were needed. Their work was professional, they took time to answer all questions, and reviewed everything with us on-site before leaving.

Everyone at McQuillan from Leah who answered the phone and set up the same day appointment, to Mike who came out assessed and explained my options (with no pressure sales!!) and help facilitated the very quick replacement/upgrade from a regular to a tankless water heater. All were extraordinarily nice, and solutions focused!!

Larry was the best! He checked both A/C and boiler in one trip and laid out the options to get everything running smooth. No extra services, we got just what we needed.

Dwight was efficient in his service call and took the time to run to Bloomington for the part for the furnace and was back to complete the job promptly!When I called to schedule the appointment, they were very polite and were able to have Dwight out in a few hours. My furnace went out in the evening so I called at 530pm or so. Their dispatch (based somewhere out of state) said the arrival time would be between 6pm and 8pm. By 750 we had heard nothing. Called the dispatch back and forced them to get in touch with the tech. Only then learned they weren’t coming. Lost 2.5 hours of time where the problem could have been being addressed.If I had been told at 530 that it wasn’t going to happen, I would have been upset but understood and could have used the time better. Instead they strung me along and wasted my time, so I’m now furious and McQuillan has permanently lost a customer.Just got off the phone with Apollo Heating and Air and they’re sending someone right now. Save yourself a lot of trouble and just call them.

I am beyond disappointed with McQuillan Bros service. I had a technician come out to look at my AC unit and to figure out why it wasn’t cooling my home. The technician arrived and spent about 4 hours on the phone with the lead technician because I guess the Carrier system I have is complex, and he said it was over his head. Prior to him leaving, I was told to keep my system off in 90° + weather and that the lead technician would come tomorrow at 7am. Trip charged waived, no work was done.9am the next day and still no technician insight. I call McQuillan and the customer service rep I get doesn’t see any notes in my work order showing that a technician needs to come back out, I was then told someone would call me back. 11am no response, I call back, I am now being told that a dispatcher will call me in about 10 minutes. 12pm I call back and explain my frustration and that it’s not the reps fault but, I am still without air, and if no one was coming out at 7am, then why did the technician tell me that. I was transferred around 2x and someone tells me that a technician would be out after they finished the job they were out on.3:30pm comes around and the same technician who had no idea about my cooling system or what to do shows up. Spends about 3 hours in my utility room, no work done, doesn’t know why there’s isn’t any air flow in the upper levels of my home. Lead technician isn’t answering his calls. Proceeds to charge me after telling me no work was done.Why in the world would you send the same technician out that was calling for help because he had no idea on what to do or where to even start with my system?!P.S. I still don’t have air!

Frankly, I am sick over this entire thing. First off, $1,035 for ONE hours work to REPAIR, not replace, but REPAIR two outside spigots is tantamount to extortion. You have GOT to be kidding me. Not only that, but the valves were installed opposite each other. Meaning, one turns clockwise, one turns COUNTER clockwise. Also, I have yet to receive any invoice or receipt. This is seven days ago. I would NEVER recommend you. I expect you to do SOMETHING to make this right. A simple repair, done incorrectly and WAY over charged is inexcusable. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Our AC went out so we called these guys based on their reviews.The guy came out and told me I need a new 'voltage absorption system', which I'd never heard of but because it's 90 degrees out today I told them go ahead. I later figured out I'd just paid nearly $650 to replace a capacitor, which is a $20 part. He spent two hours coming up with about $4,000 in additional 'upgrades' I could perform to my unit, which is only four years old. Just a terrible value, call anyone else.

We had a leaking water heater and McQuillan was able to come out the next day and even install a new tankless water heater that same day. Impressive. A huge thanks to Mike who was out here first and then Troy and Mike who did the installation.

We had a technician come to replace a cracked water spigot, and add a second water spigot to the outside of our home. The company was quick to schedule and easy to communicate with. The tech was capable and was able to bid and complete the work the same day. I will be calling them for future work.

I got home from vacation Wednesday night and within the next few hours into Thursday morning my 30 + year old furnace went out. I saw the Mcquillan Bros sticker on the old furnace so I called in hopes they could fix it. The dispatcher was very friendly and told me they would send someone out ASAP, which was great news for me as I had no heat and it was getting pretty cold in the house. Nick was the technician that was sent; he was very positive, knowledgeable and professional. He diagnosed the issue immediately and called to have one of the sales people come out and do a replacement evaluation. Mike was there within the hour after Nick called and did a fantastic job walking me through a new furnace and helped me select the one that made the most sense for me and my situation. One thing that I really liked about Mike was he wasn't pushy and trying to sell me something, he understood my situation and really helped me with the solution. My replacement was scheduled for the following day, today. Mikan and his team came out this morning at the time I was told and did a fantastic job on the installation. He was personable, understanding and direct which I respect. I stayed out of the way and let him do his thing. He always asked before he/team did something, the craftsmenship was great and what I am very pleased with what I ended up with. To date I did not have any experience with Mcquillan Bros but I will only use them going forward and I would highly recommend them. So this was the first major home repair/upgrade that we've had done. Not only was the estimator Nate courteous, friendly, and considerate, so were the installers Greg and Josh. Our 50 gallon water heater had gone out after 7 years of use and we were looking to upgrade to a tankless system. Being that we were on a budget and in need of making the crucial decision whether to keep the tank or go tankless, my wife and I had the total of three companies look at the job. McQuillan Brothers we're not only able to provide us with the most reasonable pricing they also did not provide anything less than exceptional workmanship and quality. Greg & Josh if you get a chance to read this I want to personally thank both of you for your friendly disposition, knowledge, and personal attention to detail on every aspect of the job. I learned a lot as well. I will most definitely be asking for services from this company again!

Did a good job with what they did but tried get me to replace all my gas lines for about $8000 and said there were many leaks which Xcel confirmed there were not. Don't trust them unless you get a second opinion

McQuillan called and offered complimentary furnace check. The technician did a thorough job but excessively tried to upsell me on equipment additions and furnace cleaning. Also the price for a cleaning was ridiculously high - $800. I called another contractor and they did it for $150. Also, their technician said the blower motor was only slightly dirty and he wouldn't have recommended cleaning it yet.

Josh was able to come out quickly after the AC went out after a stretch of hot days. Josh was very knowledgeable and nice! He worked efficiently and I felt he genuinely did a good job! I also signed up for the maintenance/ service plan because I have it through another company but felt Josh was more thorough and I wanted a local company.

I really appreciated their responsiveness and they were very hospitable. They were there when I needed them. our water heater went out. I saw the commercial on tv and decided to call and they responded. They replace our old water heater with a vented one. It cost, but I think we were happy with not having to be foot deep in water every time we washed our hands or took a bath. I would totally recommend these guys.

The sewer inspection technician Craig Curney was professional and had the skill to scope a sewer system where a tech at another company got stuck.Will use again for sewer stuff.The phone call center employees were great. Always a person to answer the phone, and good communication.Only minor downside was that the automated appointment reminder was glitching out and said someone was on their way even after they already finished, no big deal though lol.

Nate did a wonderful job on my plumbing. Problem was found right away we addressed it and the leaky drain pipes were fixed. The communication between Mc Quillan Bros. and myself was excellent. He arrived around 10 AM and was done by five. Replacing low side and high side plumbing for my kitchen down into the basement. Five stars!

Just used McQuillan to remedy an issue with our dishwasher not receiving water. The dishwasher’s supply line (and drain line) were frozen. Don pulled out the dishwasher, thawed it, and then applied spray foam at the base of the wall behind it to mitigate the issue going forward. Oh, and while he was here, he went ahead and solved our hot water pressure issue that we’ve had since we moved in (almost 4 years ago) that other plumbers told us would be complicated process involving removing walls in our basement. He took care of it in about 4 hours- no walls removed. Don is an awesome plumber, and McQuillan has been great overall. Highly recommended.

Yesterday McQuillan Brothers replaced the plumbing in my bathroom. Kaleb, Rhyse, and Huan were professional, efficient, courteous, friendly, and competent. I’ve never hired a repair/replacement crew from any business who’ve come close to the superior level of service these three (lead by Kaleb) provided. I could not praise them more. Buyer Beware: Residential AC Spring Startup - scheduled 1st time service - $79. I contacted the business to discuss a routine residential AC spring tune up. I specifically requested a coil cleaning, fitting connection check and a pressure /temperature differential verification. All pretty standard. I was quoted $79 and scheduled. On the day of service I was called and told that there was an emergency and that the HVAC technician could not make it and they would need to reschedule. Emergencies happen so we rescheduled.2 weeks later a young man shows up in a crispy clean uniform with a clip board. He says he is here for the scheduled inspection. I explained what I had requested and was told that he would perform the actual spring tune up with the services already described in this review. He said no and that the way it works is he needed to come inside and start with a system inspection. From the inspection survey he would then provide me with an estimate for the services. When I said that this is not what was discussed with the scheduler he said well that's the way we do it. I then asked what a ballpark price would be for a condensing coil cleaning.He said it would depend if it was a tier 1 or 2 service. I mean really, this isn't anything more than a residential 2.5 ton condensing coil. He said it would be between $200 or more dollars. I called out BS and handed him back his clipboard and stated that we were done. I told him I could clean the coil my self and he said well why don't you then. Wow what school of customer service is this company promoting. He stated that I was yelling at him which was not the case. I didn't even raised my voice and the young man insulted me.I think this company needs to stay in the commercial industry, residential is different and to be competitive you can't do the ala carte pricing . They also need to hire some experienced, thicker skinned technicians as I'm not here to try and make the technician feel good about themselves. I even told him 3xs that I do not hold him accountable for the situation but rather the business offering overall and how it is marketed seems to be the problem. I'm back to using my usual company ($119.99 standard pricing FYI) and now extremely delayed in getting service. Thanks for nothing McQuillan Brothers!

My daughter in law had a tech come to their house because the furnace wasn't working no heat so the tech found the blower motor wasn't working he quoted her$4200 to replace the blower motor and mounting bracket and flame sensor then when questioned why it cost so much he said because he had to take half of the furnace apart to replace the motor and that it was mostly labor cost I went and got a new blower motor and bracket for $175 at grainger installed it myself in less than an hour furnace works perfectly these guys are crooks

Have a 1950’s home with original plumbing. Shower faucet was leaking. Their plumber told me it would be over $3600 because he would have to replace the shower faucet. Ended up paying him a $69 trip charge and then found an honest plumber who was able to replace a washer in less than an hour and it only cost me less than $100! I do not like how companies take advantage of people, but thankfully I found a good plumber in the end!

Aaron E. came out to our home to fix a leaking and loose faucet. He was very professional, pleasant, knowledgeable and instructive while resolving said issues. I would highly recommend McQuillan and maybe you'll get to meet Aaron too as I will be calling in the future should the need arise again.

They are way to expensive..They were 9 hours late... they came out and gave me an estimate of $862 to put in one spigot only to find out they didn't have the part anyway and he told me he didn't know why they sent him on this appointment with no spigots so he couldn't have done the job anyway very unprofessional and they made me waste a whole day waiting for them... I would never recommend this company to any of my friends or family very disappointing

Excellent job! Every employee we dealt with was excellent. The sales rep was no pressure and very informative. The installation went well and they did a great job. There was one mishap with the wooden floor and the company responded promptly and is having the damage fixed. I would recommend this company.

This was a great experience. Jason from McQuillan Bros. came in, gave me an extremely reasonable quote for running a new gas line for my new gas range and was able to do the job right away. He did a fabulous job, walked me through everything he did, made sure all my pilot lights were lit after having to turn the gas off and made sure the area was cleaned up. Had someone come look at my boiler and they explained why they were shutting it down! 9 years past its life expectancy and carbon-monoxide poisoning - good reasons. They showed me the choices, helped with financing and had it installed the next day. They even filled out the rebate form and the warranty form - because you know we never get around to those. Update to previous review:After some persistent work (calling, leaving messages, and breaking through the customer service departments screening out process) we were able to talk with a manager and work through the issues we had. McQuillan's sent a new crew to our home and they were professional and nice to work with. The quality of the re-do work met our expectations. We were also able to come up with fair compensation for the poor experience the first time around. I greatly appreciate that the company took care of the issues promptly after we spoke on the phone.We hired McQuillan’s to look at an outdoor gas line that ran from our meter to our pool heater. This line was exposed when we removed a floating deck. They promptly came out and evaluated the line. I was told it was not safe and should be abandoned. They quoted $6400 to run an approximately 100’ line.We worked with McQuillan’s a year ago to clean up a gas line that our pool company deemed “unsafe”. They installed a new line in our house that serviced our gas fireplace, installed a manifold in our basement and they installed a new pool heater. Our experience last summer was excellent. They did the work they said they would do. They were professional, provided excellent communication, followed up on open items relating to the job and were great to work with.We chose McQuillan’s again based on our previous experience.This was a mistake. The installation team came on Thursday May 25th, left sloppy work and has not returned a phone call since the 25th. We have no idea if the job has been inspected. They wrapped copper wire around our pool plumbing and filter in such a way that we won’t be able to service them in the future. They bolted wire to the side of our house when it could have been tucked under the siding. They left an exposed conduit sticking out from under our porch where it should have been in a trench. McQuillan’s said the new gas line would run into the pool shed underground (so we could pour the patio over it) and I have a line sticking out the side of the pool shed.The customer service department is very empathetic and kind. However, nobody will follow up with us. We knew we were paying top dollar for McQuillan’s and were willing to do it based on their professionalism on our previous job. I will never recommend or use McQuillan’s again based on this experience. We are very disappointed and frustrated that we paid top dollar for shoddy work. I feel taken advantage of by Cyrus (my estimator) and McQuillan Brother's.

After waiting two weeks for a part from another provider - we called McQuillan and they were at our house the next morning, installing a new AC unit that afternoon. They diagnosed a handful of issues with our old unit the other provider skipped over and made a few different repair/replace recommendations for us. Friendly, prompt, would definitely recommend them to anyone!!

Steve came to our home and assessed our leaking hot water heater. Two hours later we had a new water heater installed.

Frozen sump pump drain line. Needed a quick fix and discharge line and insulation was added to outside of line to try and help, but did not work. Called McQuillen to express my disappointment and did receive a call back from Brent at McQuillen and discussed this issue. Since I needed repairs and had the work to fix completed, he apologized and is refunding some of my money. Very understanding and I felt that his offer was very helpful and thus would recommend them for future work as they strive to keep the customers happy and for their business to be successful and professional.

I called in the morning as our kitchen sink died and they were here that morning, explained and fixed the problem, and were willing to look at other plumbing issues in the house and gave an estimate for fixing those in the future. No high pressure sales pitch. He explained that that wasn’t what they did. Very collaborative. We will use them in the future.

Other companies couldn’t see us for 6 weeks. With McQuillan, I was able to get service the next day. Sam came out and was super thorough. We have a gas boiler and it seems most companies don’t have techs that know gas boilers. Sam have me a great tutorial on gas boilers and our system. He checked, rechecked and checked again to ensure that all our radiators were getting heat and had the right temperature and pressure. A great service experience. I highly recommend.

Larry was the gentleman that serviced the humidifier on our furnace. Larry was very professional, personable and went the extra mile to explain what he had done and how I could change our system from season to season.I would call on this company and Larry for any future issue should they arise as well as highly recommend this company.

The service provided by McQuillan brothers was outstanding! The staff was so friendly, and I was treated with care and kept up-to-date through communication every step of the way. The plumber who came to replace my garbage disposal, was careful to reduce the amount of mess and restore the space to order before he left. I would highly recommend this company for their services!

A leaking kitchen drain line spelled trouble, so getting McQuillan out to assess was my first step. From there Steve helped to track down the source and provide a solution. He also performed a water quality test and discovered high chlorine levels. One new drain line and a carbon filter later we’re leak-free and have safer and better tasting water. The installers Nate and Craig worked hard all day to get the job done and everything looks phenomenal. Don’t trust your plumbing to just anyone, McQuillan has been doing this longer than any of us have been alive!

Had Terry in today for a furnace tune up and Benton here a week ago for a water heater checkup. Both were knowledgeable, professional, efficient and friendly. After choosing McQ as a second opinion when our water heater quit on us last winter, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Mcquillan Bros.did a excellent job. I have it serviced and inspected every year by one of their techs. They always do a excellent job.

I hired McQuillin Brothers for electric, HVAC and plumbing. Plumbing has continually dropped the ball. Chad The supervisor or manager has yet to do anything has been avoiding my calls reading my text but not replying and refusing to give me a breakdown of of my bill. A two week job has now been going for three months! Feel like I was scammed out of my money and Chad is no help! Not on time with anything, very poor Communication. Which really sucks because everyone else did a great job except PLUMBING!

Michael Pierce from McQuillan Bros performed my furnace check and maintenance. He was very detailed and explained to me clearly what he was going to do. Really friendly. Our plumber was really great about affirming work I had already done on the toilet and suggesting how I could continue and fix it myself. Saved me almost $800, according to his quote. He evaluated my shower problems and quoted a fix that was honestly a lot more than I expected, but he talked me through the expensive parts. I was impressed with the interaction and feel good that it will be a quality job when it's done.

I was able to get a same day appraisal with several options. Next day repair. The team did a wonderful job with the work and with communicating with me throughout the process.

We appreciated Sam's information and suggestions for updating our furnace. He gave us several options of improving the condition of our furnace, but didn't pressure us to choose any particular one. I was scheduled between 9-12. Customer Service called me to see if I was available a little early which was really nice for me. The service tech was really great. He was super friendly and explained everything that was done during this visit. I have a bit of a curious neighbor who he was also really friendly with. I signed up for the home inspection program which will be very helpful to me as I just closed on this place and am discovering the joys of homeownership (aka what's wrong with the place!). The service was done quickly, efficiently and done well. I will be happy to use McQuillan Brothers again in the future.

Didn't show up on-time the first day. Tried calling multiple times waiting for them. Called back much later, and rescheduled 2nd date, and still showed-up 4 hours late. Totally unacceptable.Just needed professional hands to put a new sink faucet on a rental unit. I bought my own faucet for the professional to simply provided replace the old broken one with the new one I bought. He wanted over $500 for it, and wanted $800+ by replacing old water lines as recommended. Provided the typical sales pitch that this is their company pricing structure and how many years of professional experience and licensed to justify the cost. Settled to replace faucet and water lines for around $500, which was still a lot already. They must be laughing behind the scenes.Due to their tardiness, I couldn't be there to watch and check the work done. But they didn't put the new water lines as agreed, which would definitely not be the job I would agree the first place. They just left the house without calling me back and confirming done or anything. Tried contacting them back, but didn't get a response from them yet about this dissatisfaction.With tough times like these, this company just won't budge with squeezing every nickel out of you. I challenged their pricing, and I'm sure deep down that they know their pricing structure is ridiculous and a rip-off. But McQuillan Bros needs to do what is agreed upon even if outside of their normal pricing structure, and they didn't deliver. Working on reasonable grounds for dispute here.

I love McQuillan Bros! Today I had a new furnace and air install and the McQuillan crew were fast, very good and worked together like a fine tuned machine. I hardly knew they were here as they cleaned up so well! I’ve used this company for fixes to heating, air and plumbing as well as new vents and I’ve always been pleased.

Had my prior central air unit blow out. Made many appointments for quotes. McQuillan was by far the fastest to respond and able to set an appointment the next day. Tyler was excellent. Did a full review and clearly went over options. There was no pressure to buy and simply allowed me to choose the option best for me. The cost was higher than expected, but the time and service mattered in this instance. Plus, the work was able to be done very timely. Within 4 days of the initial call my new unit was installed. The techs were friendly, communication was great via updates on arrival and expected timeframe. There were only a few issues. I also had a leaking pipe on the furnace where there was a noticeable gas smell. This was meant to be corrected while they installed the AC unit. I inquired when the work was reviewed if it had been fixed as it did not appear to have been. It was verbally confirmed it was fixed, but the issue was actually worse, and the smell more pronounced the next morning. Had to call the gas company and they have now red-tagged the furnace until repair. There was also some incorrect information shared about the warranty which caused me some concern.Tyler was excellent on returning a call about this and clarifying the miscommunication. The unit itself has some slight damage on a side where the inside metal fins appear to have been bunched or damaged.All I interacted with in the process have been very professional, personable, and friendly. If not for the few issues it would have been a 5-star experience.I would still connect with them for future needs and services.Thank you.

The first time I used McQuillian Bros. they unplugged a bathroom sink for me and it cost in the $200+ range. I recently had them back to unplug 2 bathroom sinks. I was shocked when the bill came to over $900! I have contacted them 3 times now with one return call. The rep said I had received a deal and that normal price to clear 2 sinks would be $1600! Average price to clear out a bathroom sink in Minneapolis is $200. They have not gotten back to me again so I am writing this review in hope that others can avoid this business at all cost.

We live in an HOA-maintained community. Our problem was we needed hose bib in a location that would be hidden from the front, yet service the front, thus meeting the HOA strict rules. We had a convolued plan that required passing pipes through two concrete walls and leaves a small portion of the pipe at the front of the building, but The McQuillan agent was extremely helpful in sizing the project and suggested a different plan that meets our needs and would not include any plumbing at the front of the building, and thus will probably be approved by the HOA.

Very happy with McQuillan and Dan, the plumber that installed our new kitchen faucet. Dan is very knowledgeable, friendly and has years of experience. The office kept us informed of when the job would begin, and the technician that would come. We will use this company again.

Friendly knowledgeable technician, was able to triage the problem correctly and recommend a fix. However, I was extremely displeased with their pricing for fixing the issue as it was not reasonable. In my case the air conditioning capacitor was faulty, the part is <$35 and the fix takes 30 minutes. However, they were unwilling to fix it for less than $560. I questioned the price as prior to calling I was willing to spend up to $300 on a fix (unless it was the condenser, which would be more expensive); they did not budge on price. I ended up paying them the trip charge and fixing the issue myself the next day (please do not fix yourself unless you know how to do it safely). I called a couple other places in town to confirm the price and was quoted $150, $250, and $320 for the fix. I think the educated consumer expects to pay a hefty markup when calling a plumber or hvac company to have the piece of mind it will be fixed correctly and trust the knowledge of their specialized professions. However, the price from this company certainly represents price gouging in my scenario. Perhaps the most insidious aspect of their business model is when you call the company you have no idea they are setting you up for a situation where you have to either pay far too much for your repair or call someone else for the fix. Some consumers may opt to pay the additional fees in order to have the problem go away or not understand the cost of their problem; that appears to be what this company is modelling their business on. Please be aware or beware if you call this company you could be paying far more than if you call another company to actually fix your issue.

We heard water running inside our wall just days before leaving for vacation. They showed up the same day and arranged for repair the following day. I will definitely call them in the future!

The repairman was courteous and informative. He took the time to answer my questions and fully explain the problem with our water heater. The bill was extremely reasonable and I was not charged for any unnecessary work. I will definitely call upon this company again. My only concern was that he was late but I was notified and kept up to date on his expected ETA.

My air conditioner stopped working, and when they came out they let me know that because of the severity they could replace the system or they could try a repair that would take a couple weeks, and would likely cost similar to a replacement. Based on that, I asked for replacement quotes since the installation would be much faster than the repair. The quotes were from 29k down to 17k.That seemed high to me so I decided to think it over. I looked at my system a bit and literally found a dirty filter that when cleaned, had the system working perfectly.To me, that shows such a poor attention to detail on the inspection. I asked for my $70 visit fee back since they didn't really do anything and just gave me a sales pitch. They said they would call me back and never did.I definitely wouldn't recommend. The fact that they couldn't even admit that they did a shoddy inspection speaks volumes.

I had my sink faucet repaired and a half a day later the sink plugs up. This has never happened before to this sink and they told me it was unrelated to the repair and could not get to it for 3 days! This was unprofessional and unacceptable. We had to have someone else fix it.

Josh did an excellent job with my pipes & drain issue. I was crabby when he arrived because I was scheduled in the am & it was later afternoon when he came.. He put myself at ease & is a pleasant man.I also had an opportunity to hire a plumber named Conor. Once again a gentleman that did a tough job. He installed an undermount kitchen sink & new faucet. 2 other plumbing companies would not do the job. He, like Josh cared about the quality of service provided. I'll be back with Mc Quillan for more projects. They have outstanding employees!!!

We are very happy with the whole process with McQuinlan Bros. Set-up the appointment on line, phone confirmation of time, plumber arrived on time, thoughtful conversation of options, clear concise written proposal for replacement of our ancient leaking water heater and ready to start. Great attention to details including making sure all the faucets worked well without obstructions from old pipes, etc. Dan was polite, considerate and a pleasure to work with.

Our experience with McQuillan brothers started in 2021 when we needed significant HVAC improvements. We had such a great experience with them, that when we needed plumbing work done in our master bathroom, they were our first call.Tina R was our plumber and we can’t say enough great things about her. She was able to identify the issue quickly, present us with a few different options for resolving it, and was able to point out some things that we may want to take care of in the future. I am happy with the work that was done but it wasn’t the easiest experience.I was told they had a spot between 7-8am for the next Monday. No one showed up so I called and was told I was set for 12 that day. I had moved a lot of meetings to be available. They didn’t show up until 1:45 with no call saying they would be late. I asked them to both wear masks, one did and the other did not. He was asked to so I don’t know what happened there. When they were done i was told he didn’t have enough to charge it all the way but someone would come back and charge it. I also gave my credit card to the sales man last week to charge the first half but that did not happen. I am happy with my air conditioner... I am disappointed with the communication break down tans they have to come back.

A McQuillan plumber came to give me a bid and was able to install a new toilet immediately. He was great to work with. While he started the job, I went to Lowe’s for the toilet. Service oriented and a very responsive office team when I had a billing question. Highly recommend.

My bathroom sick was leaking. I needed a part which I had already sottered . the stopper replaced and a new spout replaced in my bathroom upstairs. He did a good job but me just taking his word and not utilizing everything, he wasn't here for even 2 hours. I was charged over 1200.00. Very few parts so I figure I paid 500.00 an hour labor . Get estimates from others before you hire from this business .

Both of the techs we worked with were knowledgeable, easy to work with, walked me through the expense of the gas line installation, and why it cost more than most people usually think it will (he helped ease the sticker shock 🤣). The work looks great, quick install, overall a great experience. Will call again for future needs.

Had a gas leak that required a plumber to replace a line. McQuillan Bros responded immediately and their technician Johnny G showed up within the hour. He was superb, not only replacing the line but giving tips and advice concerning gas, plumbing and affected appliances. He was a wealth of knowledge and he wasn't trying to up sell products or services. I now feel like I have a reliable plumbing and heating company to call when I need service. McQuillan Bros turned a bad day into a good day!

We had John out to work on our AC. He was great!! He knows what he is doing and is great at explaining everything to us. The company was out once before and our issue wasn't 100% resolved, but John resolved it today while giving us further tips on how to keep our AC and Furnace running efficiently. Since our issue wasn't 100% solved the first time, they did not charge a trip fee to come back out. We will only use McQuillan Bros in the future and would recommend the company and John, to anyone needing help with their HVAC system.

Our furnace went out on a Tuesday morning, by Tuesday after noon Dwight was there to see if it could be fixed. He walked me through why it wasn’t viable to repair. He showed me the cracks in the heating exchange, the damaged ducts and the oil that was leaking from the blower motor. It was nice to actually see what was wrong and not just be told. Steven then came out and walked us through our options for a new furnace. Promptly at 8am Shawn and Kyle were there to begin removing the old and bringing in the new. It was less than 24 hours from requesting a tech out to the installers leaving with our house back at the normal temp. It is expensive but there was 7 different options and price points. Also they had financing available. Overall I would definitely recommend McQuillan Bros.

I had McQuillan come out for an annual check on my boiler system (new in 2011). The tech quickly stated that my flue was reading over 500ppm of CO (I never saw the readings). He said there was no chance of repair and that the only solution would be to turn the heat off immediately and to send a salesman out to quote me for a new boiler. This tech made multiple appeals to the safety of my family and essentially used these scare tactics to believe I needed a new boiler. I had multiple CO alarms in the boiler room that had not gone off. Quote for a standard efficiency boiler came out to over $14,000! I made a few calls and quickly determined that this pricing was several thousand higher than it should be.Thankfully, I decided to have a second opinion come in for a new boiler quote. When that second company came in, he said that I absolutely didn't need a new boiler. Instead he recommended that a tech come out and do a proper check and maintenance. When the second tech came, he not only confirmed that I didn't need a new boiler, but also showed me that the flue was actually only reading 20ppm (totally normal). He confirmed to me that his measuring equipment had just been sent in for calibration in the last two weeks as well. He did clean and make some minor adjustments to get the reading down to 6ppm of CO.All of that to say, I do not trust McQuillan nor their ridiculous pricing. Do not be enticed by their $69 check up as they will use it as an opportunity to scare you into buying something completely unnecessary for much much more.

I was given a call 45 minutes before they arrived to let me know, they were clear about the price of everything, and respectful of my home. I was very impressed, and they even gave me a before and after sewer scope video so I could see first hand the state of pipe. I would recommend them.

I have an old steam boiler heating system that has been tough to service because so few companies have this expertise any more. I called McQuillan at 7 a.m., thinking I’d have to leave a message, but they picked up the phone! A very skilled service person was at my house by 8:30. The system was given an overhaul, and the work was done by 7 p.m. that day. I was blown away with their prompt service, professionalism and follow up. I highly recommend them.

I could not be more pleased with my recent experience with the HVAC team from McQuillan Bros.! Dave, Shawn, Steven, Jake, Keagan, and Kou were all incredible to work with on a very complicated and extensive project to install two separate High Velocity A.C.units as well as a dehumidifier in a traditional home that was built in 1929 and had never been updated before. The team consistently came up with creative solutions for complicated structural challenges in ways that honored the aesthetics and preserved the architectural integrity of the home. They went above and beyond to do things the BEST way, which was often much more involved, more physically demanding and laborious, and certainly much more time-consuming. In fact, they wound up working a full extra day in order to make certain that every single design wish was met. On top of that, we had many laughs along the way, and felt I could trust them completely in my home. Besides being extraordinarily skillful at what they do, they also demonstrated great character. While many contractors are often under pressure to work as quickly (and as cheaply) as possible to get a job done, the customer then suffers the consequences of a poorly executed plan - or work that is imprecise or inconsistent. However, my team from McQuillan Bros. worked with incredible speed, never once wasting time, while making sure to communicate with me fully and frequently about my options throughout the entire project. Though details were provided on what was needed (toilet replacement), no attempt was made to make that repair. The technician spent his time inspecting the whole house to upsell everything he could imagine. But I'm stuck with the estimate fee and wated time. Hired another plumber to get a working toilet in the house the next day.

Having worked with dozens of different companies throughout the process, McQuillan stands head and shoulders above the rest. Service was fine. Called at 4pm, they arrived at 8:30pm. Work took approximately 40 minutes to cap a frozen pipe. Bill was $700. Felt taken advantage of, being in a hard situation. They got you. So I paid them.If they charged $500, would they not make a profit???Not a good first impression as a first time customer. They won't be my first call, that's for sure. Find a better rate!

The sump pump was to be looked at and the technician discovered two gas leaks. We discussed possible solutions and came up with a satisfactory one. I have found McQuillan Bros to always be professional and very knowledgeable.

2 stars because the technician was very nice, but charging $600+ to replace the capacitor is a robbery. You can order them online for $15-20. Not sure why you are charging $600 for labor on a 5 minute job.

Do not let McQuillan Brothers in your home. For three years our furnace has been problem free and whisper quiet. Now after what was supposed to be a routine inspection that our furnace now squeaks when the blower fan turns on and is louder than it was before. Seems there is more air pressure coming from vents than there was before and the furnace runs about two or three minutes shorter than when it used to when it ran. And to top it off they wanted to charge 1100 dollars for a simple smart thermostat install. How in the hell does it cost 1100 dollars for a Thermostat install....pretty basic work for highway robbery. And last but not least when everything was done we couldnt get the repair guy to leave....hung around for about 15 minutes afterwards wanting to talk about other stuff. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a major ongoing basement remodel that needed to re-do the ductwork in my basement.I spoke with Mike Krauth, who came over to see what I needed done. He immediately understood the issues with my existing ductwork, and we discussed a better approach for how to layout my HVAC supplies and cold air returns. He was professional, and personable, and I received the quote later the same day. I had a number of questions regarding the quote, and related to the situation in my basement, which he answered promptly.They arranged the work-day schedule to accommodate the timing of other contract work I had going on, and knocked out the entire removal, installation of a new, relocated water heater, relocated furnace, and entire re-do of the ductwork in a single day. They were courteously open to follow up visits, should I have any issues.Not only were they all professional and personable, their pricing was the most competitive of the quotes I received for the work. It was a fantastic experience to work with them, and if I had more work to do, I'd call them first.

I was extremely impressed by the quality of this company and, specifically, Justin Winter. We had been having trouble with the broiler for over a week. Another company that is well known in the Twin Cities had sent people out several times to repair, and each time, the problem was not fixed and they had proposed trying to replace a very expensive control panel, without really knowing what the problem was. Justin came out on the same day, spent some time to actually identify the problem, and went the extra mile calling several places in order to repair it the same day. These people really know what they are doing and perform very high-quality and affordable work. I will now use them for maintenance and repair for all of my home issues possible.

We replaced our old central air conditioner and they went above an beyond. We recently purchased the house and the previous owners installed a new furnace and water heater inches away from each other. So, they couldn’t replace the AC without taking the time to relocate the water heater (something on my to do list) and they did it for free. Awesome experience, competitive fee and the maintenance program is top notch (3 other quotes).

This morning Chad and his partner arrived promptly at 7:00 AM. They were polite and professional. They explained the work and verified that was the agreement between McQuillan and us. If the installation of the AC caused them any issues they took care of it. I was walked through the operation of the new thermostat and was shown all the work they did. Clint and Mike at McQuillan did a wonderful job installing a new boiler and new fin tubing and baseboards in my home. The project took two separate visits and about 3 days total since I ordered some of the materials myself for the baseboard installation, but they scheduled me quickly once my supplies arrived.Not only did they walk me through any issues or trouble spots with my install, they took the time to show me my options and customized the baseboard install to suit the space. They communicated well and consistently so I could understand what was happening. I had them install new baseboards and the end result looks great and exceeded my expectations. I’d definitely recommend this company, the service from both sales and the technicians themselves was excellent from start to finish on my project.

We reached out to McQuillan to have our water heater replaced once we discovered we had a leak. They were quick to respond to our inquiry, and was able to get service the very next day. Chad Olson was the individual who came to our house and inspected the situation. He was able to offer a few solutions to replace the water heater, and at no point put any pressure on us to spend more money than was required. Chad put a work order in, and the water heater was replaced and installed the next day, in addition they hauled away the old one. I would highly recommend using McQuillan Bros for any of your heating/AC/plumbing needs.

Best price I could find, and they installed next day. Good customer service; they had a rubber mat for the stairs and took the time to keep my house clean. Polite install crew that did a little bit of extra work to make the finished install look good. It's rare to have contractors treat an install like it's their own house but that's how it felt. Would recommend to anyone.

The technician Conor was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He walked me through all the plumbing in my house and showed me any possible issues as well as what was good. I didn't feel pressured at all to do any additional services than originally scheduled for but ended up adding one on that I thought was a good investment and best option to reduce future issues. The staff that I interacted with were all very friendly and courteous. The problem is that when getting quotes from multiple companies for my broken furnace, the repair cost estimate from McQuillan was around $2400. This high cost to repair had me thinking about total replacement of the furnace. The quote I received for replacement was around $9000. The other 2 companies I checked with gave a replacement estimate of $5500 and $6000 (for furnaces with higher specs), and BOTH of them gave a repair estimate of $900. When I said I would be getting other quotes, I got a vaguely condescending statement that other outfits won't use the same brand furnace as McQuillan, and that other companies may send an installer with less experience. I never asked for or received justification for a repair quote from McQuillan that was 250% of the cost offered by the other 2 companies, and I don't believe there's any possible justification for that much markup. The salesman arrived with a tote full of space heaters to loan us while waiting for the repair which is a nice touch, but not enough to warrant the difference in price. I'm speculating here only, but it appears to me that the higher cost may be needed to support all the advertising (vinyl wrapped fleet of vans, mailers, etc), and the high tech ipad based estimating system they have.

Don was great! Our water heater they installed a little over a year ago just stopped working. It was diagnosed as an electrical issue, nothing wrong with the heater itself. He was thorough and explained exactly how to fix it. Unfortunately he’s not a licensed electrician. He also performed a plumbing inspection while here. We bonded because my house was not “company ready” so to speak, says he has grandchildren so he understands. Thanks again Don!

Had McQuillan out to quote me to move a gas line for my stove/kitchen reno. They told me I had a major leak in my existing lines and they recommend I do a complete removal/install. They tried to scare me into making a VERY expensive decision on the spot, by saying it was so bad that they should honestly shut the gas off right then and there. I was able to get them out of my house and I have since had 2 other gas plumbers take a look at everything. The other 2 companies BOTH said my existing lines are fine, and also quoted me THOUSANDS of dollars less. Not impressed whatsoever with this business. I felt bad for the guy in training, I could tell that he was thinking this quote was a total joke.

From the first phone call to schedule an appointment to the last techs leaving, McQuillan was great. They were very upfront and honest about expectations and very responsive to questions. We recently hired McQuillan’s to bury an exterior gas line. We decided to hire them because we previously had a positive experience. Previously the communication was good and they workmanship professional. Unfortunately this time around was an absolute disappointment.We reached out to McQuillan’s and Cyrus was assigned as our estimator. We explained we needed a gas line buried so a concrete patio could be put down. The line needed to go across the house and under a 3-season porch. Cyrus assured the work would be done to support the patio project and would be inspected.The work that was performed is C work. The conduit under the porch sticks out and will block the concrete work. The stub up into the pool room is on the wrong side of the building. The copper is inconsistently posted to the house in a half haphazard manner. And the gas manifold has been moved such that no work can be done on the pool equipment.The most frustrating part is we have called McQuillan’s repeatedly since the install with no effective response. We can’t even get an update on whether the work has been inspected.Over the past two years we have spent over $20,000 with McQuillans on different projects. Despite that we can’t get Cyrus or anyone from McQuillan’s to call us and have a conversation about our concerns and/or the status of our project.I don’t like writing reviews like this but I feel it is important for other potential customers to understand our experience. I previously have recommended McQuillan’s but no longer.

We had 2 estimates from them for 2 different jobs. We did pay for their first visit ($75.00) which was expected - but had we used them this would have gone toward the cost of the job. Well, we ended up renting an auger and taking care of the problem ourselves. But then we had a different issue and needed an estimate for it. They came out without charging an additional fee and did the estimate. Recognizing that $ was tight and a real issue for us, without saying so - they actually explained what needed to be done in such a way I believe I can do it myself. But if I cant I still have a credit with them should I need them to do it. Very nice and appreciated! Now, that's what I call kind-customer-service.

I was charged $69 trip + $133 labor for 15 min of work. I accidentally left a sticker cover on my furnace filter when I installed it. It caused my furnace to shut down. The technician from McQuillan Bros. Removed the sticker and performed nothing else on my furnace (his words). I was then charged $203.Where is the integrity of cost vs service value? If I don’t receive a call from them to discuss and resolve my frustration in this situation I will never do business with them again.

McQuillan Bros called me first thing in the morning saying they’d seen my Angie’s List posting for a bid on a new furnace because that was my conclusion after a competitors repair bid. It didn’t make sense to me to put 3.6k into a 13 year old furnace. When the McQuillan scheduler called I said what I’d really like is a second opinion on the critical repairs needed. They said they’d be happy to do that and could be out that same morning. Two technicians showed up and I did not share the repairs suggested by their competitor, and they agreed that was the best approach. After an hour or so they said sorry to be so long but we can’t see why you would need a new furnace. I was delighted with this news and had them perform the critical repairs they suggested that same day, for less than 1.5k. I have to say I was extremely happy with the quick, knowledgeable, and honest service I received from McQuillan Bros!

I totally will use this company if I ever need again. Dispite being more expensive than others, I feel it was worth it as I got rapid service and excellent product and installation. I totally trust them because they are honest, skilled, and trustworthy.

Received a review request after getting an estimate before any work was done. Can’t fault them for an estimate. Tech who came to it was very pleasant and not pushy.We are unable to afford the estimate to fix one foot of broken pipe out in the open and flush/fill the boiler to get it back up and full.Went with our regular folks the next day when they became available at a price we were able to afford.

recently had our furnace quit on us and after trying a couple of companies we finally got through to McQuillan;s late in the evening. The house was at 40 degrees. One of the techs was able to get to our home in a few hours which was greatly appreciated as we know friends whose pipes had frozen in their home and the repairs were in the neighborhood of $80,000.The part was a faulty thermocouple which we know is a relatively inexpensive part but we don't know how to put one in and didn't have one anyway. Given that it was 10;30 in the evening we felt the $300 charge was well worth it as it is still working. Not only that but the frosting on the cake was that my wife found a coupon from McQuillan;s; for a furnace tune up. I called to thank them for the excellent service and joked about the coupon. Totally surprised They gave me the credit for the coupon special. They didn't have to do that. Great service, great attitude, good value.

Technicians came to my home and could not diagnose the problem with the AC. The options for repair suggested were not guaranteed to fix the undiagnosed problem but came with absurd pricing. $2000 for a hope it is only this option, $5000 for a diagnostic test, and a larger estimate just to replace my current unit which is 5 years old. This company did not seem concerned with fixing existing issues, but only selling a new system at an obnoxious price. Very disappointing.

Be sure to get multiple proposals because they will take advantage if given the opportunity. They charged my young, overly trusting son $9,200 to replace the AC for his townhome. I left 3 messages for a manager to call me. I wanted to verify that is how they do business. I did not receive any return calls, so it must be. I understand businesses need to make a profit, but I appreciate the ones that do it with integrity.

McQuillan came to do an annual maintenance of our water heater. Although the technician was nice, he provided us with incorrect information. Our water heater system vents out through the chimney, the McQuillan technician stated that we did not have lining in the venting and if they replaced the water heater they would have to install a lining. We had a second opinion from another company and they discovered that we had lining and it was properly installed. We called McQuillan and provided feedback. We ended up working with the other company, they were professional, easy to work with, and they did an excellent job.Response to Owner: The record is under my wife's name Alyssa Erickson and the McQuillan technician was called Nathan Snell.

We installed a 3 room mini-split. Company was responsive, quotes were competitive and work was done as expected. Some follow up issues that couldn't be addressed on day of installation were rectified a few days later. Overall very happy with product and service. Would recommend.

We asked McQuillian to come out and explore options to provide a 240V power supply to our garage for a new electric car charger. We started the process in July and (hopefully) have finished having to call them (it's November). The staff were very unprofessional, speaking very differently to my spouse and I depending on our gender. We could not get any managers to call us back when requested. Their work did not pass inspection THREE times. We worked mostly with the inspector and Xcel to apply pressure to get them to complete the work the way they should have in the first place. In the process, they attempted to instead a new meter to two other different areas, drilling holes in our stucco, only to remove them again to a third place (the spot I Xcel specified in the first place). The final breaker they installed was done poorly, and they had to come out to replace it only 2 weeks later because it wasn't secure enough to keep rain out (it's an outdoor breaker). We rarely received apologies, instead numerous attempts to place the blame on the inspector and Xcel (for their apparently too high of standards for electrical work). It was such a nightmare, so many days we had to reschedule or take off from work. We always had to be the proactive ones, connecting with Xcel and the Inspector for them. The Inspector had similar communication issues. They would never follow through without at least one to three reminders. I hope we never have to call them again. It was not worth the incredible stress it placed on us and still the fear that the work is done terribly lingers. It also sounds like so many people have been quitting and, from one of the workers, things are getting worse and worse at the company -- look for a different company with more stability and more knowledgeable staff.

Worst customer service experience EVER! Registered online for a plumper, was contacted by the company. Due to the weekend and memorial holiday, price were pretty high. Asked the rep if there was a plumper tech after 6 pm because of my working hours, rep assured me that there was some working after 6 on Tuesday, scheduled it. On Tuesday morning they called to confirm and I asked it'll be after 6 pm, right. They said no. So they rescheduled it for Friday. Friday morning they called to confirm the appointment and again I ask that it be after 6 pm. The rep said no, no one works after 4. Waste of my time.

Good service - knowledgeable people. I had some plumbing work done; there was a little glitch, but McQuillan Bros returned and made sure it was done to my satisfaction. Last week, my furnace was shut down by the gas service company due to gas leaks. I called McQuillan Bros and they had someone at my house within an hour - and they installed a new furnace the very next morning. I appreciate their knowledgeable plumbers, estimators, installers - all of them take a lot of time to make sure you understand what is being done and why, as well as the cost. Once the job is done, they go over all of it again. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Attempted to get an estimate for an AC unit. Scheduled a time and was assured they would be prompt within the window. No show, no call during window and I had to call check status and ultimately cancel. Received a call 15 min later saying they would need to cancel on me because of an emergency service. I understand things come up but if you were called away and you knew you wouldn’t make my appointment, it would have been nice to be notified during or before the time they were supposed to be here.

My furnace failed on one of the coldest days of the winter season. McQuillan responded immediately and had service techs to my home quickly. My water heater was installed about 6 months ago. The family and I just spent a week up north at the cabin and got to to very cold showers. I called McQuillan Bros and the sent out Don. He’s great! Unclog toilet and replace that toilet with a new one. They were fast and efficient. Came out within an hour of calling them! Great repairman Cory!

Although service was handled very well, price was astronomical. $1720 for a faucet install and a toilet install. I nixed the toilet install and had him put the faucet in. He charged me $1120! For a faucet install! So a toilet install will be $600? Somehow I don't believe that.Also had to wait 5 and a half hours to receive service. Took a day off work so I could be here and he didn't show up 1 and a half hours after your estimated time. Will never choose your service again.

Let me start this off by saying that the techs and office staff that I dealt with were all great. Polite and seemed to care about my issues.With that said, I will NOT be using them again, nor recommend them to anyone. I had my boiler replaced, and after, one of my radiators wouldn't heat up. (This was October)After months of phone calls, wait and see's, a couple of service visits, it still wouldn't heat up. The only way to talk to a manager is to have a tech call them from your home. I have been completely blown off by this company for too long.TLDR;I have been blown off by management for months about a radiator not heating up after they installed a new system.

So I have an older home from the early 1900 and I was using benjamin plumbing, called them out and I couldn't get them to repair the plumbing in the creepy crawl space... so I found McQuillan brothers and called for an estimate. Don came out and gave me an estimate and Kaleb he did a phenomenal job fixing everything! The updated plumbing very clean, labeled, and he fixed all the lines that made no sense. Now that its summer..I called Don out again to see why the outside water wasn't working.. and he informed me that Kaleb made a separate shutoff valve for the outside, so I could shut that of before the ground freezes! I didn't have that before!.. so when in doubt just call Don and Kaleb...they both come highly recommend! ALSO, They are on Angi list.. so you just can't go wrong... and well it was a little pricy.. but I was able to get financing to replace it and the financing was 18 months 0%... so in the grand scheme of things even if you don't have the funds they are willing to work with you...and the recent follow up was another informative visit... because Don come with a lot of knowledge and is very polite and answers all my questions... so ladies and gents.. just call Don and Kaleb.. they are awesome and will bring peace of mind when you feel doubt...because there are vultures out there who think your an endless piggy bank...

I had some plumbing issues going on and Don came over and was very professional and took the time to explain and educate me on what the issue was and the solutions to fix it. Turns out we needed our toilet reset and the price to do this was more expensive than if I were to go with another company, but since I had a good experience with Don I wanted him to do it so i didnt mind spending a little more. Don also helped me with a couple of other questions I had and with one of my hose lines not working. He was able to help me real quick and get it working! Don really went above and beyond and would 100% recommend him to anyone needing plumbing!

Just had a plumber out to fix a plumbing issue and it was a joy! Matt is the best, knows what he's doing, and is always a pleasure to have in the house. We have had Mcquillan to do kitchen plumbing. bathroom plumbing, boiler install, and more. They have always been great, very responsive, and I would recommend them to anybody!

The young gentleman that came out was very nice and did a great job of explaining everything, but the prices were extremely high. 500 dollars to unclog a drain is ridiculous. I talked to several other plumbing companies and they all range between 150 and 200. Turned down the service and went elsewhere.

I am very disappointed with the lack of communication and disrespect of my time. I had scheduled time for McQuillan Bros to come out and give a quote and was told they would be coming the scheduled day between 8am and 4pm. They finally arrived at almost well after 4pm.At that appointment they took a deposit for the work and scheduled to come out the next day at 8am.The next day around 9:30am I had not heard anything from McQuillan Bros. I gave them a call and did not receive any update of when someone would be out and was told someone would return my call. I had let them know that I had to leave my house by 2:30pm, which they acknowledged but still didn't ease my worries. The technicians finally arrived at about 1:30pm and left around 3:30pm.I am giving 3 stars because the technicians were very efficient and respectful. They did a great job!I will not be recommending McQuillan as a first choice to family and friends. Hopefully they can improve their customer communication and scheduling issues.

Steve was great and thorough. He explained everything very well. He replaced the water heater anode at a price of $597.48, which I thouhgt was high at the time, and it took about 15 minutes. I was shocked when I checked the price of a water heater anode at Home Depot and found it was $42. I like McQuilan's maintenance service but in the future I will be getting a 2nd estimate on any repairs.

Terrible experience with this company. We had our two main air ducts removed during an asbestos abatement. We had an appointment with the McQuillan Bros the following day for the air ducts to be replaced. Sean from McQuillan had given us a quote two weeks prior for $600 and said he was scheduling the appointment. They then apparently decided it was not worth their time since they had larger jobs scheduled, but did not call to let us know. I spent half of the day trying to get ahold of someone to get an estimate of when they would be out. Tyler called around 12:30 to let us know the above information. He said they would only do the job if we paid $1,500 - $2,000. This was all during a heat wave.

April and Sarah were great, kept me updated on Aaron’s (plumber) arrival. I had a small pipe leak and it was taken care of quickly. Definitely recommend McQuillan Brothers to others.

We have a boiler furnace with baseboard heating. We had continuous problems with the water pressure going down in the furnace and having to refill it constantly. We've had many other companies come in, look at our system, replace our system etc. but nothing fixed the fact that the water pressure continued to go down in the furnace. The McQuillan Bros were the first company to identify what was wrong, gave us options, and fixed the system. They were very friendly and professional. They gave us numerous options and let us know what they would do in our situation. We chose that option and the system is now finally fixed.

McQuillan came on a winter Saturday when our aging furnace quit. Technician Sam was competent, thorough and courteous. When parts could not be obtained on a weekend, he repaired the furnace enough to heat the house and asked if we wanted to talk about a new unit. We did, so Niall came the same day to assess needs and to present options. We got a high efficiency furnace installed two days later. No charge for the initial repair. The whole process went as smoothly as it could in the circumstances.

The technician who came today for the water leak inspection in my house, his name was Conor and I can tell he is very focused, intelligent and highly professional and he was able to do great job and answered most of my questions the right way.I definitely would like more knowledgeable professional like Conor at this company and this will help the company and the customers … good luck.

We moved into a different house a few months ago and over the winter, found an addition to the house does not heat well. We called McQuillan who sent out one of their guys (Don) to take a look if we needed a new furnace. He steered us from a new furnace and identified the true problem to be our duct work. He brought in a duct specialist (Mike) and together they spent half a day pulling apart vents and identifying which vents and returns weren't working and why. They put together a few options and provided their recommendation, and the following week were able to complete the work. Don has worked through a number of 'hiccups' with us through the project and has provided solutions for us to ensure a successful outcome. Mike checked in each day and provided updates. Both Don and Mike are clearly very knowledgeable about the work being done. They didn't waste any time getting to the root cause and offering a solution that will be right for the long-term benefit of the house. There is one outstanding hurdle to tie out this project and make it an A+ for me, and I'm confident they will help us get there, because they've gone over and above on everything with this project since day 1. We are customers that will follow a good contractor and company, and we will definitely work with McQuillan for our plumbing and heating needs going forward!

We really appreciated the HVAC tech who made it out to our home to inspect our aging boiler before house sale. He was kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. The calling staff were also upbeat and nice.However, it took two reschedulings and five days from our initial appointment, so that is why one star is taken off. Thankfully, I was able to accommodate the changes. Perhaps this is standard practice, but my schedule may not have been as flexible another week.Overall, I would call this company again knowing that it may take a few days.

The prices that these guys quote are ridiculous. $1000 to change an outdoor hose bib! They require a $69 payment to completely review your household plumbing.; whether you need it or not. Then they give you a checklist, which shows all of the thingswrong. On top of it all, when I asked how much they make/charge hourly, he saidwe dont work hourly. So a 2 hour job ends up costing $500 an hour. On top of it all, when I questioned the crazy price he said Maybe I can call my boss and knock a couple hundred off. Really?Have you ever seen Bill Macy in Fargo try and sell Tru-Coat? These guys are a rip off. Stay away, unless you have lots of money to throw around.

We thought we needed a new water heater and had received estimates from others. The service technician from Mcquillan Brothers identified the leak in a pipe outside the water heater, ordered the part, and fixed the issue in about 2 hours. They saved us money and fixed our issue quick.

Larry was very knowledgeable and kind with helping with our A/C issues. He is actually the second person we went with, but I’m glad we did because we will now only use this company. The first company we used spent 15 minutes looking at our unit only to say we needed to spend 10k to replace the whole thing. We were about to do so but decided maybe we just get a second opinion. Thank goodness we did because Larry actually said that wasn’t the case and helped us save money in the long run.Not sure who is reading this but Larry deserves a raise

They installed a new Goodman SEER16 Heat pump and HRV exchanger onto my existing Unico ducted system. Very professional techs made good decisions with details. “Heat Pump Larry” Henderson did some quick and effective technical work to diagnose a defective Honeywell thermostat and get the system up and running on day 2. These guys are great!

Justin and Don were both knowledgeable, professional and able to navigate repairs needed for our HVAC and plumbing issues for our real estate seller. I greatly appreciate his advice and direction. WARNING: We called McQuillan Bros for an estimate to cap a gas line. The technician quickly looked at the gas line that we wanted to cap, then said he was going to check the entire system (all gas pipes in the house) for leaks as part of their estimate process. It seemed strange at the time, but after he was done, he said he found a leak, and he would have to shut our gas off if we didn't pay $1000+ for him to fix the leak right away. They are not transparent about why they are checking your entire house for leaks, so beware that you may end up in this hostage situation.

I spoke with their office and had a pleasant experience. I haven’t used their service yet.

Cyrus (tech) helped us initiate a warranty claim with the manufacturer for replacement of our electric water heater.Brent (plumbing manager) was thorough in offering options for repairs, replacement and upgrades to our hot water and water softening systems.Sandy (quality control) was very good in customer service and follow up on all services rendered seceral weeks later.I'd recommend McQuillan Home Services as a trusted professional for home repairs.

Thanksgiving evening a realized my old gravity furnace was not working. I called McQuillan Bros. Friday morning and they sent a tech out right away. The tech, Daryl, was wonderful. He looked at the furnace and gave me the bad news that it would finally need to be replaced. Daryl called the company and asked for a sales person to come out. Mike came out, gave me a couple of estimates and we got the ball rolling. Since it was Friday and the weekend coming up, he stopped back with a few space heaters. The old furnace was removed on Tuesday, the new one installed on Wednesday. Up to this point I had very good feelings about the company. Thursday morning I realized I did not have any hot water. During the install the pilot light went out. When I called to see if someone could come back out to relight it, I was told it couldn't be done till the next day. This was frustrating since obviously it was something that happened during the install. Also, as part of the sale Mike said they would take my old hot water heater, which was sitting in the basement. The workers carried it out, but did not have room in their truck. They said they would have someone come back the next day. No one did, I finally called back the following Tuesday to ask them to send someone out. Finally a very nice smart thermostat was installed. I had to sit on the phone with Honeywell (45 min on hold) to get it connected properly. I was left feeling that once the sale was done, I was no longer a priority. Given how much this cost, it would have been nice to recieved a courtesy call to see how things went.

Brian and Darvin came to my home for a significant (to me) drain issue that was a pressing problem. Extremely professional, honest and quick. Immediately identified the issue and presented multiple options to address and solve, along with the value of each service and the result. Really great explanations and outcomes of each option and the forecast for longevity of the fix. These guys are solid and I will call them anytime I have a need for any of the home services they provide. I trust McQuillan tremendously. One of the best, cleanest home service calls I’ve had, zero frustration.

Stereotypical pushy salesmen company who will try to oversell you and charge you twice as much as the work would otherwise cost. Literally, twice as much. I got quotes from 5 plumbing companies, and McQuillan quoted me $6,000 for the work while every other company was quoting between $2500-3000. They were also the only one to push me to make a decision right there with the estimator, rather than acknowledging that I should get other quotes and/or take my time to decide as this is a large sum of money to spend.I also got quotes for electrical work, which was a solid $1000 above the price of other estimates I received. ($4000 instead of $3000), due to the fact that they were actively trying to come up with things to upsell me on that weren't actually issues. Don't trust them at their word. Always get additional quotes and you will see exactly what I mean.

I needed to replace my furnace, air conditioner and water heater, and so I got bids from a handful of contractors. McQuillan Bros was my first call because I have known of their good reputation as a company and family in the trades for many years. In the end they weren't the lowest bid, but they were very willing to work with me on staying within my budget. They were also helpful in obtaining financing.The job was started and completed today, (yes, 1 day!) and all of the employees who came to work were nice. They put in a lot of hard work, I commend them and am grateful! So far, so good - my house is warm, water is hot, and the new furnace and water heater are SO quiet. I expect it'll be the same with the air conditioner this summer.

Josh Casey was incredibly helpful! I had a different company inspect my main sewer drain and I wasn’t given much information on what was wrong. I called McQuillan and Josh came out to save the day. He explained the issues and gave me many options for my next steps. He made me feel extremely taken care of and let it be known that he would answer any other questions if they were to come up. The plumbing professional (Meyer Warren) was on time and very professional and detailed in understanding what we wanted to do (plumb for a 3/4 new bathroom in basement). He took detailed notes and pictures, spent about 2 hours with us, created several levels of estimates. Just a great job. We are impressed.

Andy was direct, positive, knowledgeable, and friendly. He put us at ease and offered tiered solutions so that we could figure out what we needed immediately versus what we could delay until we had more money.

We had plumbing work done to our home in May of 2020, This included replumbing much of the home, replacing the water heater, installing a replacement water softener, and including shut off valves and setting bathroom fixtures in a bathroom remodel. The total amount of work was $11K. The trouble is we told them that the ceiling in the bathroom would be finished and there would be no access to the shut off valves for the upstairs bathroom if they installed them in the ceiling of the downstairs bathroom. Do you want to guess where they put the shut off valves? By the time I realized it the ceiling had been dry walled. Next issue is the sink and the toilet that they set were never tightened down. The other issue is the rebates for the water heater which we will get to later. Fast forward and January we had McQuillan out to look at the furnace because the humidifier had stopped. They sold us on a maint. plan that provides two inspections per year and free service calls for $84. Turns out the maint. plan is not $84 ($144 instead) and does not cover service calls. Then why would I want it???? After the service call to inspect the humidifier they offered to inspect the furnace and I said sure it is probably due. The determination was that the 30 year old furnace needed to go. I agreed and we installed a new furnace and water humidifier with new thermostat in January 2021. $6400 on that install. Now on to the rebate in chronological order. When the water heater was installed in May 2020, I was told that the rebate would be automatically filed. I called in the first week of December and spoke to Leah. She connected me to Kailin because she handled the rebates. I explained that I had not seen anything and she explained it had never been filed. She knew because of our conversation that the deadline to file was Dec 31. She assured me that she was filing it as we spoke. Since the rebate takes 8-12 weeks to be sent I didn't check up on it with Kailin until January when we had the Furnace replaced. I called her the next day and Kailin said oh yes I am filing for the furnace today. I asked about the Water heater rebate and if there is a way to tell what the status is since it had been almost 7 weeks since she had filed it in December. She said I see I filed it in December so it should be there anytime. I asked for her to send me an email confirmation of the filings. She did but as it turns out it did not have a filing date on the email. Fast forward to March 3 and I called Centerpoint energy as it had been well over the 12 weeks and still no check. CP advised that there is not a filing in Dec for the water heater but instead it had been initially requested Jan 29, 2021. I called MCQuillan Bros and talked to Leah. I asked for Kailin's manager. She assured me the manager would call. Instead I got a call from Kailin again. I told her what I had found out. She said she would talk to her manager about it and they would get back to me by the next day. I did receive a voice mail from Kailin on March 4, 2021 stating two things. First, they would send me a check because of the error they made on the rebate and her manager would call me that day about the install and problems. Well I should not have been surprised because there was never a call and as of March 15,2021, still no check. On March 16, 2021 I called and asked for Kailin's manager and Leah told me that she is the only one there. She was sorry that I had not received the check or phone call but she would pass on the message. I have been VERY patient, however, they do not deserve it. If you want to be charged for services, they do that well. If you expect a flawless repair or install you might be better off going somewhere else. If you expect follow-up and follow through from a company....well, I would think you might be better off spitting in the wind. Because I cant get them to do anything that they have promised at all! I am only guessing that the rest of the glowing reviews were bought and paid for and are not true experiences.

The install team showed up on time and got the old system out and the new system in less than 8 hours. The install looked professional. However, when it came time to power the system up, the installers couldn't get it to run. It's a heat pump system with backup propane. The former heating plant was a forced air fuel oil system. The installer didn't seem to be totally familiar with the setup, so a return visit was scheduled for the next day. Another tech showed up and said because the propane tank had not been installed, that the system had to be set up as a heat pump only. This worked! It works great!However, another problem is still occuring with the propane. The furnace needed a LP orifice to replace the NG orifice and had to be ordered. In the meanwhile the propane supplier installed the tank a couple days later, but didn't connect to the gas pipe stub on the outside of the house claiming that the HVAC tech was supposed to do that. A week later a different HVAC tech showed up to install the LP parts, but didn't have the tools to install the regulator on the outside of the house. I contacted the LP provider to get the tank unlocked and a safety check run but let them know I would let them know when the HVAC tech would be on site. The LP folk said they would let me know ahead of time when a tech had been dispatched. I never got a call , but the LP guy showed up anyway and said he didn't know how to hook up the outside regulator and the tank installers should have connected it up. The tank guys wouldn't install it because the gas line was unterminated inside the house, though it was plugged. They said the HVAC guys were supposed to install the regulator on the outside of the house. Seems like a lot of finger pointing and coordination.🤔🤨😠😠😠😠😠😠

Dan S from McQuillan Bros came on site to do an annual plumbing inspection as part of my home owners maintenance plan with McQuillan. Dan was great!! Friendly, efficient, good with my dogs, and provided a detailed review of my plumbing situation. I knew the hot water heater was going to be my issue. I mentioned I was going to replace in about 12 months. He said he would be surprised if it lasted that long. That caused me to change my plan, and 3 hours later due to Dan and McQuillan I now have a new hot water heater - much quieter!!! All along the way, Dan was communicating what was going on, and where he was in the process. He also provided more detail regarding the plumbing in the house than any other plumber ever has. I was delighted to have Dan as my plumber. I'll gladly call this guy back.

I had a wonderful experience today. The rep showed up on time, was very polite and respectful, and completed the work to my satisfaction. The price was on par with what I expected to pay. In conversation it came up that I'm active military and they gave me a 10% discount on the service. A really nice perk they offer.

When my furnace wasn't working, a technician from McQuillan Brothers told me that the control board needed to be replaced. Later that day I mentioned to a family member I had furnace issues. He talked me through an end-to-end troubleshoot (over the phone, by the way) that led to the discovery of a closed external gas valve. While the technician for McQuillan was polite, he failed to identify that problem in person. Had he done proper diagnostics, he would have discovered there was no gas pressure. I would have paid close to $1000 for a part I didn't need. I'm very disappointed in this service and have now waited 2 weeks for a response from their Operations Manager.

Dave and Josh did an amazing job installing my new furnace and A/C. They worked late into the evening to get the job done and the final results are nothing short of amazing. I had heating and cooling issues of a multi level house that are hard to fix but with some fancy zone controlling I no longer have hot and cold rooms. The system is almost silent when running. The new filtration system and u/v lights have made a huge difference in the indoor air quality. I had my parents come over and see what the guys did and they are going to make an appointment with McQuillan Bros for their house as they have the same model house I do and have the same issues. Thanks again I'm looking forward to many years of worry free service from my new equipment. I know who to call in the future!

I called mid-afternoon on a weekday and they were able to have a technician come to my house the next morning to give an estimate and go over all of their options. He was very friendly and personable. They were also able to set up a financing option that made an affordable monthly payment for us, and that was after beating 3 estimates from other companies by a considerable amount. We would definitely recommend McQuillan for any HVAC service!

I called on Monday morning with numerous plumbing issues, Tina came out later that day, gave me an estimate for everything, and came the next day to complete all the work. She was knowledgeable and efficient and took time to make sure everything was working again. The company dispatcher also is very reliable with notifications when the technician will arrive! Very happy to have all these problems taken care of so quickly!

After Centerpoint was a no show after an eight hour window and they took it upon themselves to change my appointment to 5 days later. McQuillan Brothers came out same day. Mike, the technician was great also!

We received a quote from them for service. The man who came to our home was very nice, professional. He reviewed the items in question, and quickly produced a quote of approximately $3K. The two major items on the quote, were a toilet and an outdoor spicket. The toilet was quoted over $500, the spicket over $1600. I had a second opinion come outThe toilet issue was resolved with a new gasket, cost of $3.50. The spicket outside, was leaking and spraying due to a faulty attachment, when removed, the issue was fixed. Zero cost to that one. We litterally had both issues fixed in under 10 minutes, and for under $5 dollars.Very disappointed. Buyer beware.

The unit is working well and we are satisfied with it's quality.McQullan Bros estimated that our system would receive a $750 rebate from Xcel ($450 AC plus $300 furnace). After months of back and forth, Xcel refused to give the rebate level that was expected (they paid $450 vs $750). I talked with Tyler at McQuillan and he said that McQuillan would pay me the $300 so we were not out the money that we expected (even though he claimed that Xcel wasn't paying appropriately). We appreciate that McQuillan was willing to help us out.

Mcquillan people are professional and their great personalities took the sting out of the work I needed done.

I sent my request to McQuillan Bros at the end of the day on Friday, and they responded first thing Saturday a.m. Zong, the technician, was very knowledgeable and professional, and got right to the problem and fixed it quick. No complaints whatsoever.

The difference between my old unit (when it worked) and this new unit he installed is amazing, great quality unit, Nick was very professional and things got done in a very timely manor. Excellent experience with McQuillan Bros. I called at 10:30am and my furnace was working again by 1:30pm that same day. They gave me a 30min heads-up before the tech arrived. Larry was professional, explained everything he was going to do, let me know my options with quotes for each before fixing anything, stuck around for 20min to make sure the system was heating up before leaving, sent me an email report with photos to share with my landlords, and wore shoe covers to protect my floors. Couldn't have asked for better service.

Mr .Grey came out and serviced my AC unit very professionally and everything was great.Very good employee .

Thomas was super thorough in his inspection, explained everything he found and what needed to be done, and was respectful throughout.

Be aware that they will charge you $650 an hour for labor. That is exactly what he told me when I finally got him to admit why it was so much. I used them because my furnace was under warranty. They submitted no claim and charged me basically the same price as if I had no warranty at all. Also, don't ask to speak with one of the actual brothers because I was told they are absent owners These are not local and reasonable people. They are corporate and will gouge you.

The 24/7 care was a lifesaver for me and my family! Our boiler went out in the middle of the night in the winter and because we live in an old house, the house was losing heat quickly and we needed an emergency repair. Mcquillan Bros came to the rescue! Not only was the technician (Matt) efficient in resolving the issue and restoring heat to our house, he was extremely friendly and thorough in the explanation of what he was doing and why. I am extremely appreciative of the quality of work and responsiveness of this company! Highly recommended to anyone who works in their service area!!!Also, one week later, we needed some plumbing help with our kitchen sink. Ken S came to talk through options and returned for the installation. Very disappointing experience, i was having outlet issues in my basement and the breaker didn't trip. so i called for a quote. They said they have a special right now where there is no fee for estimate on electrical inspection. the technicians arrived looked around and said we fixed your problem. i said what? they said it was a breaker on a switch itself. they then proceeded to tell me that it would cost $212. i figured it was going to cost something but $212 dollars was a lot for pressing a button on an outlet is ridiculous especially when i didn't agree to the fixing during the free inspection. then the tech tried to convince me to sign up for a monthly subscription ($12 a month required $144 total) and this $212 fee would be waived. i declined and he handed me an iPad and told me to sign even though i insisted that this was suppose to be a free inspection and i recall the person (Angel) that I spoke to on the phone said i could decline service for no charge. he said nope that was not the case its $212. with no other option i signed.being frusterated I called the number again and spoke to Angel, and asked her why what she told me on the phone was not accurate to my experience. she said you signed the agreement. even though i was told by tech there was no other option. she then transferred me to someone named Tim. and he said the same thing you signed, i pushed a little further for trying to understand why pushing a light switch would cost $212. he said things like the $212 was because i was paying for his experience and its the way that it is. all to no avail.Bottom line for me is I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICE and don't believe their specials and expect for them to try to bamboozle you. i learned many lessons today but i hope whoever reads this thinks twice about using their services.

Ben, the plumber they sent, was so amazing I immediately recommended him to family and friends. The customer service definitely had exceeded my expectations. Ben was timely, efficient, had a great attitude and really worked with us to make sure the job got done right, and at a reasonable rate. That said I will be keeping McQuillan Bros saved in my contacts if I should ever need their services again.

I called for an estimate for a gas pipe replacement. The service person took an hour, went through my entire house including cupboards and gave me an estimate of $2k- $5k! After reviewing financing options, I said they were too high and they charged me a trip charge! What an expensive waste of time, I got MN Plumbing for $600. This place is a scam.

Our service technician was prompt, professional and friendly. He took the time to explain the different disposals available so that I could pick one that was appropriate for us. He also taught me about our new disposal and how to troubleshoot our new disposal so that we don’t need to make unnecessary service calls. We have used McQuillan Brothers in the past and will continue to do so.

Had a new Bryant furnace installed in 2017. Has performed exceptionally well since. Great customer service department as far as keeping informed. Would have scored five stars but, have been very disappointed with needing to reschedule annual maintenance visits. Had to lose a chunk of my day twice in 2020 only to be cancelled a third time in a week.

I hired McQ Bros twice in the last 5 months despite an exasperating, prolonged and misleading boiler experience with a hasty, half-measures technician ( the owner insisted was the best ), I gave them the benefit of the doubt and chose McQ Bros. over 2 other companies to install ductless AC .McQ Bros employees are mostly personable and polite, but multiple communication glitches internally and with me which has left me in a precarious position for the next 10 months.Be forewarned : tech tried to persuade me to alter the installment plan and change where he put the head , so they could forgo labor intensive safety steps of laying plywood on porch roof . 🙄Check EVERY estimate and financing terms carefully every single time - which I did not do and so this is on me too.It took many requests and attempts to get the estimate/ contract to almost accurately reflect our verbal agreement .The actual terms were not clear to me until after the work was done and it was not what we had discussed. Since I wasn’t going to do business with a lender that required me to give them permission to sell and share my personal information at will, I wrote McQ Bros a check .I received texts apologizing for a “less than a great experience, “ but no attempt to actually work with me was made and my requeststo speak to the owner were ignored.I gave McQuillan bros 16,000 worth of business and the owner couldn’t call me back, despite his folksy story about his grandpa and maintaining relationships .Lesson learned.

Had an emergency gas meter repair and we got very prompt service.

I'm very impressed the way Mcquillan responded and stayed on top of my furnace and air conditioning installation. The first furnace was defective but they quickly made efforts to resolve this. After 4 days they finally replaced the furnace again. Now everything is working great!

We called McQuellan because our AC wasn’t working. Josh was great. It turned out he couldn’t fix it because it was less than 2 years old and we need to have the company that installed it do the work for the warranty. We were hoping for a quick fix, and Josh did everything he could.

I had an outside faucet replaced last week by McQuillan Bros. Don arrived on time and work was done in a very timely manner! It wasn’t cheap but plumbing never is! He had quoted me an estimate last fall and stuck to that amount. He was very professional and explained exactly what he was doing. I will definitely use them again.

Isaac, the technician, was professional and explained the steps he would take to determine if my Amtrol tank would be covered under warranty since it’s installation Fall of 2015.It is covered and I will pay for labor. Hope all goes well with installation of replacement tomorrow. I’m very pleased that McQuillan Bros.uses quality products that have a warranty if any issues surface.

I called with multiple plumbing issues and was able to get the date & time that was convenient for me which has not been my experience with plumbers in the past. The front office folks were professional and communication was was great. Don Doty was personable and listened to my project list. He gave me straight forward information and provided reasonable quotes along with advise on future projects I have in mind. He completed the work quickly and with quality. While plumbing work is expensive, it usually doesn't pan out to use someone who may be cheaper because you get what you pay for and plumbing done right is important. I will definitely use McQuillan Bros again and will be signing up with their Home Care Club!

Very good experience. Got a quote for a water heater but it was higher than other quotes but that didn’t stop Nate from going extra mile. Called his boss and got me a better price! Nate Mix went distance to help me out. I’m very satisfied.

DO NOT HIRE THEM. We had a quote done by a very nice guy- Mike- I was extremely impressed by him and he did a great job, so I felt good about it. Once his part was over, I was working with the scheduling team. After being NO-SHOWED three- yes THREE- times in a row, and a fourth one being because there was an “emergency” elsewhere (they have many techs and definitely should not have called out the tech that was scheduled for us when we’d already been forgotten three times now). Our original appt left us time to clean up and prepare for installation of cabinets, and once this 4th cancellation happened, we were then less than 12 hours from our cabinet install and this job HAD to be done before then. The cabinet install could not be rescheduled, unless we wanted to wait weeks. So, we called Deans Home Services and they got someone out RIGHT away, same day. The cherry on top of all of this is, since it’s now an emergency job (due to the cabinet installation ) we are paying way more to have it done. This extra money is 100% McQuillans’ fault and we will not forget it. Never ever go with these guys. What a total loss and terrible customer service.

Troy and Mike went above and beyond the call. There were some difficulties in tying the new carrier infinity heating and AC system into my Nest thermostat. They spent a couple hours working to troubleshoot the problems of making that interface and really understanding and solving the problem. All through this they kept me in the loop and explained what was going on and what they were working on.They worked until 7 o’clock to make sure it was all operating perfectly.In addition they made a very clean installation of the new system. It looks very professional and is a real improvement over the way the original system was installed.

I very much appreciated the transparent, low pressure, and informative consultation that Andrew provided. He was very personal, engaged and made sure all our questions were answered. When we're ready to move forward for the work, I will certainly be calling McQuillan Bros. back.

Needed a bathtub faucet replaced, Don was on time, friendly, fast and very helpful. Turned out to be a fairly simple job and he got it taken care of within 1/2 hour.

Ben and Craig were excellent! Today they came to my house and took care of the several issues I had with the plumbing. Both men were very efficient and pleasant. In addition to solving the problems I called about, they identified a few other serious problems, leaks and some lead pipes which need attention in my home. They clearly spelled out what they would do and the pricing for the job, Also, they offer options on the work they recommended, based on the problems they identified. While at my house they called the office and scheduled the future work at a day and time that was convenient for me. I will highly recommend McQuillan Bros to my family and friends!

I called for furnace maintenance. Ended up being $900 to replace ignitor and adjust gas valve. They do have a $50 off any service coupon on their website. They said it was too cold to service A/C unit which is for the best.

We called McQuillan when our AC went out during the hottest week of the summer (of course). They sent a tech out to look at our system the same day and then when it was determined that we needed to replace our furnace and AC, they scheduled installation just two days later. They were on time and the job was done ahead the timeframe they quoted. We would definitely call McQuillan for HVAC needs going forward.

They misquoted a rebate. After I mentioned this to them, they cut me a check to make up the difference. I thought that was very responsive of them. Additionally, during install, the entire crew was extremely polite and punctual. I’m loving my air conditioning, like every day. The quiet feels luxurious to me. Thank you McQuillan!

Serviced me last summer and this summer I had same issue. They were backed up and I had to wait 2 weeks which is not why I am upset as I know the heat can cause back ups. I am upset because after waiting 2 weeks and no one showing up, I called them after the appointment time. I was told they could not service my location due to policy changes....I NEVER received a call about this. I suffered 2 weeks with no air cooling thinking someone was coming and now I probably have to wait longer for the next company. I could of found someone else in the last few weeks. VERY unprofessional. Why do I have to call to find out my appointment was cancelled?? Ridiculous!

I was in need of replacing the original 1950's bathtub faucets. Additionally, hot and cold sink faucets in 2 separate bathrooms. I chose McQuillan Home Services as they have been in business since 1883. The original consult went well and part of that process was any recommendations they could advise for me. I just proceeded with my original need of new faucets but added new sinks as well. One sink was with pedestal other sink a cabinet/vanity. Tub faucets were replaced with universal blending faucet /spout. I was definitely pleased with the workmanship... Although, the full cost of the above mentioned work was $6,274.22. I believe there must be high overhead, advertising, etc. I have since found a less flashy plumbing company to work with...

Andrew came out and gave us a quote on our bathroom remodel. All I can say 10/10. No extra words needed.

Needed a plumber to connect by brand new gas dryer to the gas line sitting right next to it (simple). I also needed about one foot venting from behind dryer to my wall stack (simple).While I am not unhappy with the work that was done, I am very displeased by the amount that was charged. The total charge was $550. I told my family. friends, and colleagues about this amount and their jaws dropped. Over half a grand?, they said, for simple connections that took about 30 minutes.I feel like that amount was unfair and not accurate with the market rate, as I have been told. This company would not tell me the charge until the plumber arrived and unloaded everything and then gave me a bid. I did agree to the price before work began, but I wish I hadn't.Felt like he saw me coming all day long and that was not a fair price for the work competed.$550....come on. Disgusting. Be fair, be transparent, and don't take advantage of people.

The techs, Chris and Mike, were great. The first replacement water tank was defective, so they had to wait for another. The job took a lot longer than it should have. Throughout they were professional and courteous,

We had an excellent experience with Mquillan Bros. We had problems with our sewer pipes backing up. Craig Curney came out and helped us out tremendously. Such a nice person who genuinely cared about our issues and wanted to help us out as quickly as possible. He was very upfront and honest about everything. We previously had 3 different plumbing companies that gave us 3 different explanations with 3 different solutions...but Craig was the only one who came out and properly assessed the issue. He discovered that Verizon ran a fiber optic cable through our sewer line which threw off the alignment and made it impossible for our sewage to reach the sewer. Craig and his crew did all the work extremely quickly and they were the kindest group of guys. They stayed out working until past 11pm to finish the job so that we could flush our toilets again. Very down to earth and great communication the entire time. Craig was extremely great to work with, taking all of our stress off the situation and handling everything. He even helped us take photos of what happened to properly document for our insurance. Craig (and the crew) were amazing, and April and I are extremely grateful for everything Craig did for us. Honestly, the best to work with. I would recommend to everyone.

Plumber was knowledgeable, personable and thorough. So if rating only on him it would be a Five star. Unfortunately the same can't be said of the customer service department. I was doing a gut remodel and I made it clear it would be at least 30 days and possibly longer between rough and final plumbing. Two weeks after first visit, Customer Service called to set up final. I again informed them it would be at least another few weeks and I would contact them when I was ready. A week later I receive a notice on a Sunday that a plumber would be out at 7:00 a.m the next day. I of course canceled this appointment that I did not make restating I was not ready and would contact them. One week after that I received a voice mail from a customer service supervisor, asking whether or not I intended to use them and reminding me I had a final payment waiting on their books. So for the fourth time in six weeks I had to tell him I was not ready for final plumbing and would contact them when I was. This was not customer service as much as harassment and I would have to think very hard about using McQuillan again because of it.

****UPDATE****I called MacQuillan Bros. because the AC they installed last September was not able to get down to temperature on the last few hot days and a little water was pooling at the furnace. They came out in one day, the fix was covered under warranty, and Frederick was professional and got the job done efficiently. Since the unit was put in on a cooler day, it did not have enough refrigerant to cool down the house properly. If it gets low again, I was promised they would come out, run dye through it, and determine where is is leaking and fix it.I had McQuillan Bros install a new A/C unit on the roof of my brother's condo and then install a water heater to replace the one vintage 1996. Shaun was present at both installs and was the lead on both, and I can't tell you enough how outstanding he is as a technician and a person. I would not hesitate to use them again!

The tech did a nice job.However I am very concerned about the cost.Last spring you folks sold us a new water softener and with the service call to repair a pipe it costs over $5000. This seemed very high.Then yesterday the repair of our air conditioner costs us $740. Again this seemed VERY high.We used to use Appollo and we never paid those kind of rates.We are strongly considering going back to them.

Great Job.(Last Summer) We needed a gas line ran, called Genz Ryan first, they made and canceled my appointment wanting to reschedule after I had appliances being delivered. I called McQuillian brothers and they came the same day, gave me a detailed estimate and came the next day to do the work. I will never use anyone else after they pulled my butt out of the fire. Great folks.

They were very informative and helpful in getting the work i called in for and a problem that happened just before they got there! Handled everything very well. Not pushy either!

We were so impressed with the whole team at McQuillan-- they were quick to schedule an assessment / quote, responded to our concerns about aesthetics on the outside of the house, and installed our new mini-split less than a week after we got the quote! We will absolutely use them in the future and would recommend them to any friends or family members.

The technician was great and super friendly but the service charge is absolutely insane. To replace my fill valve it was quoted at $280. Thank goodness the technician gave me a discount. Not reasonably priced at all. For a service that took less than 15 minutes to install $280 doesn't make sense. Not going to use this business again for future fixes.

Matt come out and take care of a bad showerhead/faucet. He quickly diagnosed our issue gave us several options and took care of it quickly. Everyone I talked to was extremely courteous and helpful and I was very impressed with the service provided by Aaron - he is wonderful! My plumbing problem was addressed in a thorough and professional manner and everything was laid out for me before the work started so there were no surprises. I plan to give McQuillan Bros. a try on a hvac issue - I assume it will go as well as the plumbing work and I'll be keeping them on speed dial for next time. I've already recommended McQuillan to someone!

We signed up for a maintenance inspection in early Octobber 2022 and have had our appointment cancelled twice after waiting most of the day (1/9/2023 the most recent cancellation) for the tech to show up. Like the first cancellation, no appointments were available for another month or longer. I wonder how many others have had inspections done who signed up weeks after our first appointment?

We had great service for the actual installation of our furnace, however we have now been waiting 5 months for our furnace refund as McQuillan failed to submit the refund for two months and then did not respond to an inquiry by Xcel for an additional month. We were not notified and any follow-up has come on our part. Have not been impressed by the responsiveness and follow-up of the customer service.

Had McQuillan Bros out today for my AC and to clear my main drain - they’re the best! The great experience started when I scheduled my appointment. Kenny was super helpful and got both jobs scheduled for the same day and timeframe. Then, the day of my appointment I needed them to call my father who would let them into the house. I spoke to Bree and not only did she make sure my dad’s number was put in my file, she also listened to me. I mentioned it was his birthday and she communicated this to both techs who wished my dad a happy birthday. It made his day which made my day! And, you’d never know they were at my house. Everything was clean and well cared for. A company that listens and accommodates their clients! Highly recommend them!

I scheduled an appointment online for my broken AC unit. It's 90° in my house. I missed a phone call, and called back next day when my appointment was suppose to be. Just to be told I don't have an appointment because the online scheduling is backed up. Don't offer it if you can't manage it. It's not fair to clients who think they'll be getting a service when they aren't.

I give McQuillan Bros. an A+. Every employee I had contact with was very professional and took the time to answer my questions. They provided excellent service, with a wonderful product and end result. McQuillan Bros. exceeded all my expectations and I highly recommend this company.

We sent a message through HomeAdvisor and received a call from McQuillan Bros within a couple minutes. We were fortunate enough to have them out the next day. They were clean, prompt, professional and affordable. I am planning on having them out for more work in January. I would highly recommend them! I have used a lot of contractors, electricians and plumbers and have no problem recommending these guys to anyone! Top notch!

Jason the technician came out to inspect our gas leak issue. He found the root cause and fixed it right away. He kept me in the loop with his findings and walked me through what he was doing. He also had a sniffer and tested all parts of the gas line to ensure that there were no leaks. Great piece of mind

Conor took care of a badly dysfunctional garbage disposal and installed a new one. OK — so the work was great — just like you’d expect it to be from a professional company.The surprise was that Conor was a delight! Never said that about a home service person before. Friendly, nice as could be, thoughtful, compassionate while being professional in every way. I’d give him a 6-1/2 out of 5 stars!

This is the second time we have used McQuillin Home Services. This time for a plumbing issue, last time was electrical. Lucas Lee was great. Very friendly and explained the problem. Will definitely use them again.

New tank-less hot water system installed the day after the quote. The turnaround on this job was quicker than anticipated. Everyone was professional, responsible and efficient.UPDATE: I'm reducing from 5 to 3 (maybe should be lower) as they offer a Home Care Club for discounts and free service tied to the $12 / month club care. Once I called to schedule a free service they scheduled me for the following week, but then cancelled on the day the service was supposed to be performed. Boo. Then told me that the next available appointment was two months out as they are all booked up. Seeing this as a precursor for any other free services I need, I just cancelled the Home Care Club. I probably won't be doing business with them anymore.

Wanted air ducts cleaned. They tried to quote me $4k+ for a bunch of stuff. I just wanted air ducts cleaned. That price point is straight up robbery.

Excellent service, from the person receiving my call and scheduling the visit to the technician that came to our house to fix a leakage on our bathroom. The technician came to our place in less than 2 hours from our call and fix the leakage on the spot. He also checked all the faucets and water lines, checked our water heater and water softener, tested the water quality and gave us valuable advises. We were 100% pleased with the overall experience with McQuillan. A quick note: do not expect a cheap service, this is a quality service provider, that's what I found out.

My technician showed up despite horrible weather, diagnosed my problem, and pointed me in the right direction to a non McQuillan solution via the warranty process. I was a loyal customer and now am much more so. So nice to deal with straight shooters.

Someone came out to look at my boiler and figure out why one of my radiators wasn't working.He identified the problem (other plumbers had not been able to do that), and fixed it the same day, even leaving to get a part that was needed.He also provided me useful information about what was fixed.

We thought the toilet seal was gone, but it wasn’t leaking when he came. He checked for all the symptoms of a worn seal and found nothing. An honest repair person! He refused to repair something that he couldn’t verify needed fixing! He determined the water was from sweating and not from anything that required repairs.

A month ago my AC system, which is less than a year old and I bought from Mcquillin, started making noise when it started up. So, I called and scheduled a service appointment. When the appointment date came they had to cancel and reschedule because of an emergency. A couple weeks after that I had them out to my house to install a toilet and again, they canceled the scheduled appointment time because of an emergency and I had to reschedule. My AC is still making noises, so the initial problem never got fixed. I called again and scheduled an appointment and again they canceled on me due to an emergency. They have done this to my neighbor also, where it seems like they give you good service in the beginning and then your appointment just becomes a placeholder for something better.

Our condo association has had great experiences with McQuillan Brothers working on our boiler and water heaters. This is the first time we've used them for basic plumbing, and they were as good as always. Greg was super pleasant and knowledgeable, and willing to show me what he was doing so I might be able to do similar repairs on my own in the future. He also looked for every possible way to save me money. Really appreciated that. I highly recommend McQuillan Brothers.

Amazing service. Shawn was great 👍🏼 very friendly and communicated extremely well. A little pricey but they came right away and got the job done quickly.

Our split air AC was not blowing cold air. McQuillan set us up for an inspection in 4 days. The maintenance man came when they said he would, did a full inspection of the units, found a small leak, fixed it and recharged the system, all in about 2 hours. Great job!

Charged me triple what anyone else would have charged. $647.00 for a 5 minute job to replace my Capilator and didn't even put everything back together. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Heat was not working in Jan. Call them the night before and was able to get schedule for next day. Nick came out and helped us. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Got the heat working. In the future when I need to replace the whole furnace I will be going to them. Thank you Nick!The receptionist was super helpful as well. They let me know what was going.

Even though they had to reschedule on me twice I had a good experience with Lucas (that’s what his name tag said) who inspected my plumbing.

Called to get an estimate for a 40 gallon gas water heater replaced and it was going to cost almost $3,000!!!! When I asked him why they wanted over $2200 for labor, you get the sales pitch of paying for trucks, office, etc.Not only that, but the only way to get ahold of the actual technician was to go though the switchboard and wait for them to call you back. If you missed them had to do it all over again. Very frustrating!!! I decided to go with an independent plumber I have used before got it installed the next day in an hour and got a 50 gallon instead installed for $1500.

Mike my HVAC technician did a great job. Was efficient and thorough with the check up and suggestions for future maintenance and pro active repairs.

Replaced a pressure system for irrigation system. The pipe had broken open. Aaron was great at describing what he found and taking care of the issue.

Larry H. did a great job today analyzing and solving the problem we were experiencing with our combination boiler. Who would have thought that with our thermostat turned way down for the transition from heating to cooling season that some of our radiators were warming up due to the transfer of heat from the return pipe of our DHW Unit. He demonstrated the ability to listen to my description of the problem we were having, work up the solution, test, evaluate and document the results of the solution and explain it thoroughly to me. I am very satisfied.

I had them come to install a faucet in the kitchen and a faucet and toilet in the bathroom. The first plumber was 2 hours late, coming at 10a when I was told to expect him between 7a and 8a. However, Nate was very thorough and checked all areas well giving me several price options. After the contract was signed, he was joined by 3 other plumbers who got all the work done in 90 minutes. They were all polite, enjoyed themselves, and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend this company. I know I plan to have them back to install a light fixture soon.

Great communication all around. The technician Steve was great as well, very honest, did not feel salesy or pushy at all, loved that.Our service was a free sewer line inspection and all checked out, but if we ever do have any issues we would love to use McQuillan.

I had to contact them multiple times over 6 months to get them to file the permit so that I could get their work inspected. See the picture for how badly they connected two pipes. They stained my sink that was inches from their primary work - why didn't they cover it before starting? They stained my floor with the glue as well. The fumes of the glue made the space unlivable for 2 days. I mentioned it to the workers and they were so used it they didn't notice? Where is the leadership when your workers are so used to noxious fumes that they don't notice anymore?It has been over a year and every morning I have to run my faucets for at least 20 or 30 seconds so that my water doesn't taste like the glue.My parents also had a bad experience with them. They had an appointment scheduled for weeks and the day of McQuillan had to cancel. When my parents tried to rebook they were told they had to get in the back of the line - they were told McQuillan was booking out two months.... McQuillan canceled on them and they have to wait months to get another appointment? Where is the customer service? Trash company

No words can describe how amazing McQuillan Bros. is. My wife and I had just bought a condo in the city that was in need of replacing two old HVAC units and heating systems.When we called McQ Bros. to set up an appointment, they kept in contact with us every step of the way. Nothing but grade A service from this company. Josh, who inspected our units was very thorough and honest with us. Mike, our sales rep, was amazing. He made sure we got everything we needed at the best price. Not only did he find the units that we needed, but he also got us in the books to have the units installed in less than a week. When the crew arrived to install, I kid you not, they worked from 8am to 6pm straight. They were awesome! And what they couldn’t get done, they had a crew come out the next day to finish the job. Tyler was so friendly and really patient explaining things to me being a new home owner.....however after calling around after the fact, other companies said for a new furnace and thermostat it would be about $5,600 - McQuillan charged me $7,300. They installed a very bottom line furnace too. I feel taken advantage of as single female. :-(

The worker could not find the main sewer line and wanted to charge us 1600. To fix a clog in the pipe. Sent him away and called a real plumber who found the line and cleared it in 20 minutes and charged us 200. And fixed other issues besides the clog.

They repaired a leaky toilet for us. Plumbing technician Conor Laughlin was fantastic, professional, very quick with his repair. Identified the problem quickly and fixed it. Decent rates too.

Mike was interested in helping us build the best system for our house and came up with a couple options that required going the “extra mile” on pricing. We got a great system at a significant discount because “that’s my job”, as he said.The install technicians, Dave and Ray, arrived ahead of time and worked the rears off to get our new HVAC system installed in ONE day (when it expected to take 1 1/2 days). They were courteous, meticulous and answered a dozen questions about my new system before they headed out the door.Sam was sent in the next day to check a system glitch that was easily resolved. But, he went through the entire trouble shooting checklist to make sure we were up and running before he walked out the door.The entire team has my highest recommendation. They take pride in their work and the relationships involved when they cross your threshold.I’d welcome them back any day!

We had 2 regular round bowl toilets replaced with comfort height, elongated toilets. The support staff were excellent in communicating when to expect the plumbing technician. Mike was on time and very courteous and professional. He gave me several different price options and I chose to go with their toilets of choice rather than purchase on my own at Menards. He was able to get them from their distribution point and installed that day and when he was finished everything was neat and tidy and someone was here within minutes to take the old toilets away. I would definitely use McQuillan Bros. Again for future plumbing needs.

Mike was very knowledgeable and helpful. When the time came to replace my upstairs toilet, he shared his concerns about setting the new toilet down because of the possible water damage to the sub flooring. The company he suggested to me came the same day to assess the problem. The whole team who replaced my water heater was very efficient.

I'm updating my review, as seven years has passed and my experience with McQuillan Bros. has changed. We've still had positive plumbing experiences with them over the years but I would GREATLY CAUTION using them for AC repair (unless you love to pay way more than you should).My 2023 review: They came to do a summer AC check on our three-year-old AC unit in our three-year-old house, and somehow came up with a $7,000 quote! The technician claimed it was possibly leaking coolant while also suggesting a couple other totally unnecessary cleaning and maintenance jobs on our [also like new] furnace and vents. I knew I was being bamboozled so I got a second opinion. I'm sure glad I did! The other company came out and didn't find a single leak or low fluid levels, cleaned the unit, changed the filters, and my bill was in the hundreds not the thousands. Oh, and a bonus: the technician at the other company didn't ask me more than once if he should call my husband to go over things.My review from 2016: Highly recommend. Kevin showed up to my house with a smile and great attitude. He was so friendly and helpful. When he didn't have the parts needed to fix the toilet on his truck, he went back to the warehouse, got the parts and came back to fix it. Great same day service!!

This review is a small token of my appreciation for the professional that this company demonstrated from call to HVAC fix. Sam was knowledgeable, punctual and he took the time to explain what he was diagnosing and how it needed to be fixed. Previously, I had been told I needed to replace my entire furnace but Sam took the time to explain that I simply needed a new flame sensor. Called at 5 on a Friday and had a warm and cozy home by 8:30. If you have any hesitation about using this company, tuck it away and give them a call. I’m so grateful - could not be happier with the service. Will certainly be my go to company for heating and air!

I needed someone to do an annual checkup on my boiler. After rescheduling with me at the last second, THREE times, they finally sent a tech out. It was a routine inspection for a rental requirement. The boiler was working fine, but the tech claimed that he had to replace some wires for $600. I went back to check his work and there were NO new wires at all.This company is not only unreliable, but unscrupulous, blatantly lying to customers in order to overcharge them.I wasn't going to bother writing a review, but they just called me offering some unsolicited services and hung up on me!Seriously, look elsewhere. This company would be out of business if it weren't for the severe shortage of boiler techs in the area.Go literally anywhere else, trust me.

Would have given them a 5 star but our appointment was moved from 12 - 3 then 3-6 and finally 6:30 technician arrived and did an excellent job. Seems they were short handed and thus it took longer to get jobs done. Technician left just before 9PM.

We had an emergency repair needed on a Sunday. Don the plumber was able to come to our home within an hour of when we called. He was very efficient and upfront with the costs , and had our repair done quickly. Very satisfied with the work done.

First time using McQuillan Home Services. Came highly recommended and we were very satisfied. Needed repair of an 80 year old toilet we were not ready to replace. Conor was our technician who was right on time, courteous and professional. After thorough inspection he explained to us all of our options and was not dismissive of us not wanting to give up on our vintage toilet. Parts were difficult to find, but after several calls he located in Mpls., drove over to retrieve and installed same afternoon. Cost was reasonable. We would recommend and use again!

The repair person came on time for a plumbing repair, made wonderful recommendations, did exactly the work recommended, did it perfectly and efficiently, did not do unnecessary work, gave a reasonable quote before doing the work and waited for approval, did the work for the price quoted. Excellent experience! We decided that we were done with window air conditioners. We have boiler heat, so chose the Mitsubishi ductless system. They scheduled quickly, installed on time, and did high quality work. We love this Mitsubishi system. It is really quiet, yet effective.

Josh the technician trouble-shot the problems with a radiator that was added on to the heating system several years ago. He methodically diagnosed the problems and FIXED them. Had burst pipes on upper floor of a rental home that was over 100 years old so had plaster walls instead of sheetrock. Water went through bathroom floor into closets in apartment below. Original clawfoot tub which weighed ??? You can imagine! Called McQuillan and they came out that day and did what they could until a property damage restoration company did their part. Tina and her co-workers were great! She kept me and my tenants informed of every step they had to take to solve the problems. Also suggested things I would have to change if I wanted to sell the house in the future. It, of course, was a hefty bill because it took many visits and many hours to repair. My tenants were without water and sewer for a few days initially so I didn't have the advantage of time to get any other estimates so don't know how their rates would compare to other companies. All in all they were great. The office staff kept me apprised of the window they would arrive and then another call when they were on their way. Also, I got texts from Tina throughout with daily updates which were much appreciated.

I requested McQuillan Brothers replace the wax rings and bolts on the toilets in my home. The toilets had become unanchored over the years, and we wanted to prevent any leakage. Honestly, I was fairly sure that we needed new toilets altogether but wanted to let the experts assess it. Nathan was prompt and very friendly. He examined each commode in detail, showed me the weaknesses, and also showed me what was still in good shape. It doesn't take a rocket scientist- or licensed plumber - to figure out that rusted bolts inside the tank were a nightmare waiting to happen. Nathan prepared a detailed quote for repair vs replace. I chose replace. McQuillan has nunerous parts and products in stock,, so it was a quick trip for him to pick up the new toilets. A colleague of his, Nate T, came to give a hand. They installed these with great care and in very speedy time. The quality of the new toilets is excellent, as is the work performed by Nathan and Nate T. I would gladly hire these two men to work on any future plumbing needs. Thank you very much!

Although there were office scheduling issues, when Oliver started work, all went smoothly. He replaced a vanity and sink, reseated a toilet and replaced several old/broken shut-off valves. He and Tou then walked me through all the work and explained what was done. I appreciate that! Plus, they cleaned up the area nicely. I was delighted with the final result.

We finally found a professional, reliable plumbing company! McQuillan helped us when no one else could. They are reasonable, trustworthy, we felt listened to and Conor was very thorough and efficient. The prices are so much more reasonable than any other company we tried. They are the best!

A technician/plumber gave me an estimate of $880+ to replace a toilet. This is NOT inclusive of toilet. Toilet us purchased by the customer. Ridiculous pricing.Got another estimate of $1880+ if the toilet is supplied by them. Comparing the two estimates they are pricing the toilet at $1000.00 approx which is again ridiculous.I am really surprised how they survived this long in the business.I will never reach out to them again.

I contracted McQuillan Bros to replace a couple controllers on my boiler in Oct. 2020 and they have only performed half of the work to date. Seeing the initial work they did, I felt comfortable pre paying for the next piece of work to be completed. Big mistake on my part. They have yet to honor the rest of the contract and are ghosting me since I asked for my money back for work left undone.The work they DID do was a job well done. Don't pay this crew a dime until the work is 100% completed.Update: After this review, McQuillan Bros reached out to me. Credit to them for acknowledging and rectifying the situation.

This exmilitary gentleman was amazing. Very kind and detailed. Stayed past 8:00pm to get us set, all with a smile and kind word. We are convinced that this repair is appropriate and effective.

I called McQuillan and I explained how the dishwasher overflow kept coming through into the sink. They estimated the project at a fixed price and said they could come over in about an hour. He arrived in the time frame he set and possessed a friendly and professional demeanor. Went right into the kitchen, figured out the problem, and fixed it. Along the way he explained a number of details about how the dishwasher and garbage disposal work as well as what we can do to avoid the problem in the future.Basically, the miscellaneous small food particles that make it through the dishwasher filters were getting caught in the disposal pipe and clogging it up. Excess water was coming out the air vent and onto the counter. We will now run the disposal after the dishwasher runs and help keep it clean and clear.I was given a perfectly professional receipt that came with a 30 day warranty for this type of job. He'll come back and clear the pipes again if the problem recurs within 30 days. My sense is we'll be fine.Thanks to McQuillan and we'll happily call again, considering McQuillan our plumber.

I would highly recommend McQuillan Bros for your plumbing needs. I had a major sewer line repair requiring my yard to be dug up. Craig and his team did an awesome job. Craig was very reassuring thru the whole process. He made sure at the end of day one that I had a temporary fix for the night. By the end of day two the repairs were done. I will most definitely be using McQuillan Bros for any future home repairs.

I had two technicians come out for unrelated repairs. Derek for electrical work and Mike for plumbing. Both were very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional! They were able to identify each of my issues and they both gave me more than one option for repairs with a clear and concise estimate. Derek stuck around for me to install my Ring doorbell to make sure it was getting the adequate voltage to function properly, we both were excited when it powered right up! It was a source of much frustration for me when I couldn’t get it to work properly prior to scheduling an appt with McQuillan Bros. Mike was able to install a new downspout in my shower and improve my water pressure quite quickly. He had me check it out prior to him leaving as well and I was happy with the job! I’ve used Mcquillan for a while and have always felt that I can really trust their advice and service. I had a major hiccup with my water heater installation that was completely out of their control but they saw it all the way through and did everything they possibly could to make sure I was happy. I knocked off one star for some communication lapses that were frustrating but overall worked out. Although my issue is not solvable, I will continue to use McQuillan for my HVAC and plumbing needs because of my experience. Trust is huge in this industry and they definitely have mine.

They knew what they didn't know. They no longer truly serving steam boilers. Or said they can't do ours. Frat houses are Industrial apparently. Very good communication and I would recommend.

Ariel and Shawn did a great job installing new air conditioner and were very nice. Marc is also an asset to this company!!

They came to evaluate our heating system and suggest solutions to getting more heat to the lower level of our house. They were VERY thorough and they made several suggestions for us to try when the heating season begins. And if none of that fixes it they will come back and install an alternate system to get the the job done!

The inspector was very helpful and friendly. The sales person presented me the appropriate options for replacement. Everything was done in a timely and professional manner.

I needed the HVAC system inspected and they found a faulty relay and replaced it which could have been deadly if this failed in the dead of winter. Great service, prompt and professional. Would recommend them 2 thumbs up.

I would not use them they are overpriced. I used them once to fix a hot water heater. They were overpriced but thought it was normal as it was a last minute repair and the heater was leaking water. Had them come out again to only hookup a dishwasher. Everything was already wired, plumbed, installed, and was strictly a replacement only. I received the estimate from their worker and thought it was very high but it was just an estimate. I was wrong the bill for a very simple hookup was as much as the dishwasher cost me. My wife handled the payment and had no knowledge as I had to work. I have called them twice and have been sent to accounting and left voicemails to no avail as of yet.

We had Don and he was great! He was nice and answered all of our questions about our upcoming project. We look forward to working with them in the future.

Aaron was fantastic!! Scheduling was easy and convenient. Showed up on time and was extremely knowledgeable and polite. Went over all of my options which allowed me to choose the services that best fit my needs and budget. Aaron fixed my issue quickly and left absolutely no mess. With a clogged drain that was no easy feat. Left my home looking better than when he arrived. Nathan the technician was very professional and thorough. This appointment was for a annual plumbing inspection as part of my mechanical service plan with McQuillan. Nathan explained what was most critical to address in the short term and what can be addressed over time. He fixed a few items right on the spot and I will be moving forward with a new water softener to address the hard water in my area. I plan to address some.other items in the future with Nathan and the McQuillan Bros team.

Our technician, Jason, was excellent - very personable, efficient in diagnosing the problems with our furnace and transparent about our repair options moving forward. He did great work.Overall, the company is great - they send multiple reminders ahead of your appointment and notify you of exactly when your technician will be arriving. We look forward to continuing to work with them for all our plumbing and HVAC needs!

Tyler was our technical. He was very respectful and knowledgeable about what was wrong with our unit. Tyler was also honest about pricing and we got through the process of replacing our unit very quickly.

I appreciate the fact that the repair service on my air conditioner and hot water heater was addressed with same day service. Sadly I am unhappy with the two service calls I was charged. The hot water was just a wire to push in and relight it. Neither service was complicated and required replacing parts and the charge of $400. was very high.

We hired McQuillan to repair our air conditioner earlier today. We chose one of their service options to fix the conditioner. A significant $800 cost for a $30 part swap. Almost immediately on the same day TODAY it wasn't working. So we called them back to revaluate the reason why... and they wouldn't even waive the evaluation fee to inspect the fault of their own work. Again, their own work from earlier today. I'm absolutely shocked at the service experience for this and I do not recommend ever considering McQuillan! I've never known a business entity who wouldn't try to at least check their own incorrect work without adding a subsequent charge, it's confounding.

I had a wonderful experience. My furnace went out and I was worried and scared about what to do. I emailed them and signed up for an appointment for right away the next morning. They responded right away, came over, taught me a ton and took care of my furnace. Josh was not pushy, but easy to talk to and ask questions of. He explained what was happening and what my options were. I decided that my 30 year old furnace needed to be replaced and Tim came right away and helped me make a plan. They installed the furnace the next day and even cared for my dog for me. The family like service was what I needed as a single mom. They are trustworthy and are willing to walk alongside me to keep my furnace and AC running well. That brings me peace of mind and I can check the box on that home maintenance. I encourage everyone to see the difference of great service and caring technicians.

when Casey came out to the house he was very polite and answered by question but the price was high for replacing a shut off valve going out to my sprinkler system. I do now realize that the location was somewhat difficult to access and was connected to a thick hose leading to the water softener.

We had leak from our dishwasher leaking into our basement. We called and Conor was out to help us within 2 hours!! The problem was fixed within 30 minutes and he explained everything he was doing and answered all of our questions. Such a great experience We have them here now looking into some electrical projects for us!!

The technician who came to my house either had faulty equipment, or straight up lied. He claimed I had a CO leak from my boiler. 30 ppm. Made a big show to lock it out, make me sign off saying I was risking our health by running it. Said he could fix it for $1800. Yea right. Triggered me to have to call center point energy and had an emergency tech come out. The reputable center point technician read my boiler as being perfectly safe. Read CO at 2 PPM. what a racket.

Great service and friendly technicians but their prices are very high. They charged $900 for a 20 minute job that I provided the parts for and would not warranty their work. It was a simple remove and replace and they charged $900. Get a second opinion if you can.

The technicians JOSH AND CRAIG did and excellent job on our drain problem. We live in an old house on the lake with lots of trees. They worked long and hard to figure out the problem and get the problem solved!!They were very friendly and professional ... We will definitely use them again!!!

2 weeks after I had McQuillan out to install a motor in my furnace because the heat wasn't blowing out, I turned on my AC since it's now in the 80s outside. Well, no cold air blowing and the condenser is not running at all. Based on my interaction with the tech they sent out. I had a feeling that he wasn't being 100% straight up with me about the issue and the repair price. So I had another company out to check it and they said that someone disconnected the wire to my condenser that gives it power! They also said, there is no way the wire came loose by itself! McQuillan, you all should be ashamed of yourself to cause a problem just so I'd need more service and might have to call you again.

Associate from McQuillan installed a new garbage disposal for us. Everything went beautifully from removal of the old to the install of the new. He was very friendly and professional. I appreciate how he took time to explain and answer my questions. His work was excellent and the area was spotless when he finished. This was worth the cost to get superior quality in both the product and the installation. Thanks for a job well done.

I called McQuillan when my old water heater died and Nate came that day and gave 4 options, I chose a tankless unit. The next day Troy, Steven, and Brady showed up with everything needed for a complex job (old small house). The system was up and running that afternoon. Very competent and professional work. Great experience!

The turned the gas off and did not relight the water heater. Also as of today the city has not received pictures so we have not had the final inspection yet

Great experience, starting with live chat online at 5 AM in their website after waking to a cold house, with boiler out. Got two follow up calls from them and service technician showed up by 9:30 AM, after 15 minutes all was well. Minor glitch with a “stuck” relay switch. Only charged for the $69 service base rate as Sam the tech said was not much to it and just a fluke because the cover over the switch must of gotten bumped, once cover adjusted the boiler fired up. Great experience from start to finish.

We had a shower clog that we ultimately fixed with some elbow grease and vinegar. We tried this after contacting McQuillan Bros and having a worker give it a pitiful, 30 minute try and charging us $650. He also quoted us three other options that ranged in price from $2,000 to over $20,000. In all, he was here less than two hours and most of that was writing up quotes we didn't ask for. When we contacted customer service to express our displeasure in being charged over $300 an hour for a job that was not even done (recall we had to fix the clog ourselves), the company argued with us. Over and over. They eventually offered us a pittance. $100 off. I'm not sure why they think charging $550 to allow a guy to write quotes in my house and fiddle with shower for 30 minutes and not fix anything is acceptable, but here we are.Word to the wise: pay with credit if you deal with these people. It makes disputing the charge much easier. Perhaps the wiser option is just to avoid them.

Our plumber Don & Nate the Apprentice; did a FANTASIC job!Very friendly, personable, gave amazing advice on improvements. They found other hidden issues we were not aware of and notified us immediately!When it came to the quality of work?! WOW! They were early, hard working and got everything done extremely well! I would 100% of the time use again, and recommend to all of my friends & family!

McQuillan Brothers is a disreputable company. I had a section of the fresh air intake duct work. Since McQuillan brothers installed my furnace I called them to make the repair. The service technician noticed the outside vent was incorrect & deemed it necessary to replace it. For replacing the intake vent, 5 feet of flexible ductwork & 3/4 of an hour labor they charged me $1,073. Yes, $1,073. Do not use this company. After the original install of the furnace it took 2 service calls to fix the leak. The original appointment to fix this duct work had to be rescheduled because they were late. The service technician arrived in a car, not a van. He did not have what he needed to make the repair with. After going to the supply store he returned with the wrong part. It took hours to get to talk to a manager about my concerns. When I did get to talk to a manager he told me I had choices in who I call for HVAC work. I suggest you choose any one other than McQuillan brothers. Shameful company. Do not do business with McQuillan brothers.

He was able to quickly diagnose and correct the discharge water outflow from the washing machine and taught me how to maximize the performance of the iron curtain that was installed last year. My furnace would intermittently run but then stopped. Mr. Zong Vang was here within 2 hours. He was able to inform me of what needed to be replaced today for the system to work and then informed me the items that will be needed to be done down the road as he knew cost was an issue. Very polite and professional!

The installation team at McQuillan was great! They were fast and good but they were also curious. I'm glad that I chose them as my go to plumbing and heating company.

Perfectly straightforward knowledgeable helpful. What he didn't know was that it will be his job to gel replace the plumbing inside the house and replace the pressure tank. McQuillan Bros were able to get a technician out to my house within an hour of calling them to repair my unit. They didn't try to up-sell me anything that I didn't need and that was definitely appreciated. Charlie, the technician, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and at the end of the day won my business over another company that tried to sell me into replacing my entire unit. Saved me a lot of money.

We were really happy with McQuillan to help us replace our water heater. Conor was knowledgeable and respectful, and very helpful in making a big decision. We would recommend them to others for sure!

McQuillan was outstanding! Showed up same day we called and got our shower/toilet fixed quick! Very professional and nearly painless encounter…service was very reasonable! But it still cost money…not McQuillans fault though! Highly recommend!! Worth the $$$!

They responded quickly, were on time, and did a good job. My only hesitation is that I feel they were incredibly expensive. $600 to replace the flush mechanism in a toilet that didn't cost that much to begin with. They also tried to sell me a new toilet, and a water softener, saying they were doing a duty to inform their customers of all the options available to them. It didn't feel like that to me, it felt like hard upselling. So I would advise anyone who uses them to get another quote, and make sure that you're paying a fair price. In the haste to get the toilet fixed, I didn't do that and I regret it.

The McQuillan employees definitely care even if you don't go with them.

TL;DR: Somewhat of a mixed experience, so overall about 4 stars. Depends on who comes out, but generally nice guys. AC install took 4 visits total over the course of a week to diagnose old unit, replace it, and fix new unit with issues. Currently fixed and running well.We've been using McQuillan for the last few years and overall service has been fine. Most recently we had an annual AC inspection. We didn't take notes as we were told the tech would send them out to us. They never made it to us and we quickly forgot what he had said. I reached out via email multiple times with no success to request the notes. I could have called but I was replying to the email about the visit.Three months later our 36-year-old Magic Chef breathed its last. We called Friday morning and a tech came by that afternoon. He quickly diagnosed it as deceased and we discussed new equipment options. He was also able to read us the notes the previous tech wrote down, which explained to us why it had died. The unit options given were to choose from 3 different SEER ratings. He also provided a few discounts, including cash/check discount.The first confusion was that over the weekend I realized that SEER ratings are only energy efficiency ratings. They aren't related to the size of the unit and if it would effectively cool our home. We've had issues with cooling, and even after discussing the issues, the tech didn't explain that the options provided were 2.0 ton units, which were sufficient for our home. I didn't understand the specs of the AC units, so when I asked which option is going to be better for cooling my home, it would have been helpful to explain that the options were for energy efficiency, not the tonnage or BTU. (I took a long weekend to research...)The second thing was that we needed to get a check from the bank, so he offered to follow/meet us there, not for us to drop it off at the office. That seemed strange to me.The third issue related to that was that the tech told us that the installers would be at our house at 7am Monday morning to begin the install. That was fantastic; however, I didn't get the usual email or text letting me know that an appointment was scheduled. I called Friday evening to ask if an appointment was indeed scheduled. The receptionist said she wasn't sure and someone would get back to me. Saturday evening I received a text message that said the Installation Coordinator would call me Monday to schedule an appointment. So, I assumed nothing was scheduled... until I received a text message at 6am Monday letting me know that a technician was on his way to our house. More frustrating communication.They installed the unit Monday and were done by noon. We had a cool house for about 24 hours. Tuesday afternoon it started to feel warm, and Tuesday evening I found some thick frost on the refrigerant hose on our furnace, and couldn't feel air blowing. A fantastic tech came out Wednesday evening to look at our system. Unfortunately, we weren't told to turn off our AC so that the ice chunk on our evaporator coils would melt instead of continue to grow. So while we waiting for it to thaw, he was kind enough to answer my thousands of questions about the unit and HVAC. He tested a number of things and performed a fix, but he wasn't convinced that would solve the issue. He had a hunch that it was a bad part from the manufacturer that would need to be replaced. If we had the issue again, call back and they would take the next step.Thursday afternoon it was iced up again. I called and a tech was scheduled to come back Friday morning. Thankfully, the same great tech came out. He did a ton of work basically reinstalling the system and replaced one part. Over a week later and no issues! The beginning situations had me questioning going forward with the service, but I was very pleased with the follow-up and follow through to ensure the unit worked. If I could request the tech, I would request the last one to come out every time.

Our air conditioning went out in the middle of a heatwave and they worked with us every step of the way to first try to fix the old unit inherited, and then to make a plan to get her about what a replacement system would work best. Their customer service was exceptional and their service folks polite, quick, and thorough. We will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.I found Mike Kujawa to be VERY Professional, Friendly and Knowledgeable. You need to Hang On to this man and give him a raise !!!!
