After getting a $900 estimate from Bonfe to reset a leaking toilet, I called ENP. They came out the next day and fixed it for 1/3 the price of Bonfe. They were on time, professional, and, as a bonus, local to the Longfellow neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this company for your plumbing needs.

My entire experience with Erik Nelson Plumbing was great. I described my issue to Nick when I scheduled my service and he found the most appropriate team to address my problem. Erik (the owner) and Jaron came to the house and gave me an estimate and described what the job likely would entail. I had a broken vent pipe in my upstairs bathroom that need to be replaced and reconnected to my main vent stack. I also had them replace all of the remaining galvanized pipes in that bathroom as well. They had to open the wall in an adjacent bedroom to make the repairs. I was very happy with their work and they left the work area spotless. The final cost came in below their original estimate. These are good guys and I highly recommend them.

Erik Nelson's crew did a great job on our 93 year old home, fixing a tub leak that drained into our kitchen. They were friendly, professional, cleaned up beautifully, and protected our carpets and floors. They explained the job, price point, and time expectation and were in and out. I had ENP install a new water heater for me, and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. My calls were promptly returned, everything about the install was explained very clearly and their pricing was transparent. I had them come out during our recent kitchen remodel to install a gas hook up for our new stove, a water line for our new fridge, a garbage disposal and sink line, and a new outdoor faucet. The good folks at ENP have been amazing to work with. We found them simply by word of mouth and then looked at the reviews. We were sold. We are owner operators of a s mpls duplex built in 1957 with all original plumbing. Interestingly enough, we have never used anyone else, nor have we called anyone else ever. This means we have never felt the need to shop it out for pricing.

As a salesperson myself, I know that people buy from people that come through for them. Also, they buy from people they like. We will only ever use ENP for our plumbing needs. Each job we have had them do has been professionally done and they come over with a great attitude. I have also personally met Erik as he came to help shovel out one of their vans after the big snow recently. All of this completely reinforces my satisfaction and excellent customer experience. It is a family run business that does excellent work at a great price. What more could you need? What’s that? Guaranteed work? There is a 1 year warranty on the work that they do.

I just had my faucet, drain and overflow valve replaced on the 100 year-old tub in my 100 year-old home. Nick worked for about 5 hours on this project which included lots of new pipe. He arrived on-time and gave good explanations of what was happening. I've used this company in the past and will likely use them again. I'm very pleased.

I must say I am rarely inspired (and/or impressed enough) to jump online and extol the service I've just been provided for fairly routine home upgrades or maintenance. However since purchasing our home two months ago, we've now called on Erik Nelson Plumbing twice for installation of a new water line for a refrigerator and replacement of a water heater. They not only completed the work as advertised but generously agreed to look at and rectify several other minor plumbing issues we had in the house. He and his colleagues are exactly as described in other reviews - professional, honest, skilled, and very knowledgeable. I am 100% satisfied with all aspects of both visits and after a less-than-satisfying visit by a competitor, their superiority is clear in every regard. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I was exceptionally impressed with the amount of care, thought and information given during the job. Not only did they correct my broken outdoor faucet, but they also helped me understand what had caused it to do so, since it was only a year old and had been drained in the fall. Great experience with Justin and the apprentice Andy. Had them change a shower valve and shut off valves for sinks and toilet. They arrived on time and were efficient, but not rushed in their work pace. They cleaned up and everything works great. I live in a 1920's Mpls bungalow, which always presents some issues. The work involved opening up a wall and improving on former homeowner's handyman special work. Everything is much improved and done correctly.

I had a positive experience. I was able to get a same-day appointment for a tub spout leak. Nick came and found 2 additional leaks and fixed all 3. He also took the time to explain to me what he was doing so I learned a little bit about plumbing too. Reasonable pricing and thorough work. I’ll definitely call again when I need plumbing help.

Before I was introduced to Erik Nelson Plumbing, I called another plumber that quoted me three times more than Erik's price. Erik Nelson Plumbing is fairly priced, responds quickly to calls, has excellent customer service and fixes plumbing issues masterfully. I recommend Erik Nelson Plumbing to everyone/anyone that needs a plumber.

For many years now, since our previous house needed emergency electrical work after a storm we have had a great relationship with our electrician. We can trust him to be straight, fair and reasonable with us.

I've always looked for a similar relationship with a plumber. We've had a variety of experiences with plumbers but haven't found one we can trust that takes good care of our 100 year-old house.

I can safely say we finally have this with Erik Nelson plumbing. Today they came in to install a faucet in our bathroom and were timely, straight with me and reasonably priced. They explained what they did and even put on new shutoff values without needing to drain the house.

They fixed a drain on our tub and brought it up to code.

Nov. 23, 2021 update:
We had a shower faucet handle that was covered under Kohler warranty. They replaced it and showed me how it was done.

There was a leaky laundry tub faucet that they were able replace and upgrade the shutoffs and add hammer arrestors.

Nick and Tim did a great job and a little under the cost we originally thought it would be.

April 4, 2022 update:
ENP just installed a new water heater and again came in a bit below what I expected. They also took the time to explain the features of the new water heater.

We have worked with Erik Nelson Plumbing several times over the past 2 years during our basement remodel in our old Minneapolis house. We've had them dig up and move a floor drain, remove unused plumbing, and add new plumbing. After every experience with them we're left with the feeling of, How is it possible to enjoy working with a plumber that much?

Everyone we've interacted with at ENP has been friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and just overall excellent to work with. Jaron is especially great. We find their prices more than fair especially for the high quality work they produce. We'd never consider calling anyone else for future plumbing issues.

I needed help moving a vent pipe to open a wall in my older home. I don't want to compromise my art for universal appeal. Don’t want to be mass consumed. I’m not a happy meal. They said if you blew it, don’t reject it. Just sit drawing up the plans and re-erect it.

We hired Erik Nelson Plumbing to analyze and repair a serious mistake done by a previous tradesman. Jaron and Nick studied the problem with care and not only installed a required component but determined that an expensive replacement recommended by the previous service was not required. Saved us a bundle. Also did excellent work, explained what was done and did all the finishing touches beautifully. We will use Erik Nelson for all our plumbing needs going forward.

They were very accommodating and efficient. Fixed my toilet within an hour and installed my new sink/faucet during a kitchen remodel.

We bought a 1926 house with the understanding that it would require major plumbing work after our inspection. We got bids from 3 different plumbers, and Jaron from ENP was impressively thorough with the quote. The quote took a lot longer than expected because the house had a lot of quirks, and ENP charges for quotes. It was the lowest quote and the most thorough. We hired him to come in the Monday after we closed, and he and assistant Tim fully revamped our plumbing in 5 days during a snowstorm. They brought absolutely everything up to code, helped us select new fixtures and a toilet, and took care of many issues beyond what we discussed in the quote. Because of several unanticipated issues with the plumbing and us choosing some more complex upgrades, we went over the original quote, but Jaron talked us through each additional component and made sure we wanted to go through with it. All was very fair and we got a lot of great features that we weren't originally planning to do now. At the end, he walked us through the whole job and explained every component and what we needed to know. The job site was meticulously clean and organized. We recently had a cascade of plumbing issues in our 110 y/o Minneapolis home, starting with a bathroom faucet coming loose and leaking. This was on a 1/2 bath install from 2011 that included what we quickly came to realize was a poorly installed (not level) 1/2 bath sink.

We called ENP for addressing replacement of both the sink and the faucet. ENP was helpful and timely with suggestions of replacement products and we could not be happier with the new set up. The bid was accurate and follow up excellent; we were never left hanging in regards to timeline.

For the same project we added on 2nd floor tub shower faucet replacement, shower grab bar install, and the somewhat bittersweet replacement of our singing toilet which had its guts replaced and is no longer melodic. In addition while working the plumbing team found and repaired a tiny leak in the copper piping hidden behind the tub wall, and noticed and suggested we add or replace two sets of shut off valves. ENP checked with us every step of the way and informed us professionally regarding choices and recommendations.

The price was fair for the two craftsmen in our home most of the day and with so much accomplished.

Jaren and Nick were a pleasure to have in the home, respectful, quiet, cleaned up etc. absolutely no issues.

Edit two: Do you want to work with a plumber who uploads your correspondence to their website if they don't like you? LOL. The unprofessionalism continues. While you're taking the time to read the correspondence, notice how he isn't transparent with pricing up front? Also take note that he wants to move it to a phone conversation as quickly as possible? Nothing like a contractor afraid of things in writing.

In March, 2020, I discovered a major venting issue in a recently purchased home. Justin was clear and thorough in his explanation and outline of work. He worked with me to let me do the wall opening and old pipe removal to keep the costs down. John and Nick completed the work quickly and professionally. Also they were able to repair a small gas leak discovered while they were on site. Project wrapped up in 2 1/2 days. I would definitely recommend the company.

I'm very happy with Erik Nelson Plumbing. I'm in a 1920s age building and I found that the steel sink vent pipe had come apart with a 1 gap letting sewer gas into my kitchen. The pipe was in poor shape almost up to the roof. They replaced the pipe and all the connections. They arrived on time. They gave an estimate which was basically what it ended up costing. They were clean and neat. I think that these guys are less expensive and more polite than the big name plumbers. I'd use them again.

These guys came to my house: on time, completely prepared, practiced safety protocols to the letter, were kind, knowledgeable, took their boots off at the door, worked in tandem very well together, fixed the issues quickly, cleaned up as well as I had it before they came, and made my bathtub look newer than when they came. They did AMAZING QUALITY work! I would recommend them for any plumbing needs hands down. Thank you so so much!

Justin did a fantastic job. I summarized my problem and emailed it to Erik. Erik was able to give a ball park estimate and it was a good price. The job came in a little over the estimate, but Justin did much more than I expected. And here's the kicker. The price came in at less than one third of what a name-brand plumbing outfit wanted!

When my home inspection revealed the need for a main line sewer cleanout, Nick and Adam handled the job thoroughly and professionally. They secured the line, installed the access point and cleaned the area when they were finished. Both of them were friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They did a great job.

Ron the Sewer Rat could not unclog a drain. To get to it, some pipes had to be rerouted. On their rec, we called Erik Nelson.

I got texted back within two hours. Two very professional gents showed up the next day. We got everything done on time and under budget.

Had my shut off valves replaced to my washing machine with up to date easier turn off valves. Loved working with John who was super nice, very knowledgable and added an additional suggestion for our condo buildings main shut off valves, really appreciated his extra time with info regarding that.

I've hired ENP twice. First for a service call and more recently for a remodeling project. It's awesome to find a tradesman who is passionate about his work. The methods and materials used were second to none. Not only was the finished product good, but the area was left completely clean(A minor detail but all to often lacking in the building trades).

If you're looking for a master plumber that is meticulous and detail oriented, look no further.

Erik Nelson plumbing came out to fix my claw foot tub — they were on time, courteous and I thought the price was reasonable considering all the work they had to do. It was a complex repair and they handled it no problem. I will be using them from here on out.

Just can't say enough good things about ENP. First class people, first class work and first class service. Great communication. Friendly. Arrived to the minute when they said they would. Finished a big sewer job an hour early, and declined my payment for the full hourly amount, even though they richly deserved it. The plumbing assistant even used her down time to check and repair our dripping facets, without being asked or charging extra. This is old school service. Sure you might find a cheaper hourly rate, but you get what you pay for. You will not go wrong with these outstanding folks. Highly, highly recommended.

Last Thursday evening, I saw black mold and water bubbles on the dining room ceiling! Looking for a Longfellow-local plumber, I found ENP. They picked right away, and John came out early this week, located the source of the leak, and cleaned up the mess. He was personable, professional, and considerate. Two days later, he returned with a coworker to replace the burst lead pipes and remove the old toilet, replacing it with a low-flow toilet that was better seated in the bathroom. The dining room floor and bathroom are now cleaner than they've ever been, and I have names for two different contractors who can sheet-rock the ceiling. The final price was lower than I expected, too. Wow! Happy? YOU BET!

I was in a time crunch to get a few random plumbing things checked off my list from an inspection for the sale of my home. This company was very professional and prompt with their service. When a new part was needed and we really got down to the wire they accommodated my situation and we’re able to get everything done in time including coordinating with the city inspector. The service to our kitchen sink was also not done properly, as well as the venting. Erik's crew came in and fixed all of it, making sure everything was up to code and tucked away. Any additional work, costs, and considerations were communicated immediately and in high detail, so there were no surprises at the end. In the end, I now have a kitchen sink that blasts water and drains efficiently to a soil stack that doesn't cause any concussions (and looks great too!)

I cannot recommend Erik Nelson Plumbing enough! From the initial consult to job completion, Erik and his crew were friendly and professional, and - most of all – competent (which has not been my experience with some other plumbers in SW Minneapolis). I had a somewhat complex kitchen sink venting issue, which was causing the sink to drain extremely slowly. One of Erik’s plumbers (I forgot his name) came out to diagnose the problem, and he presented me with multiple solutions and the pros/cons of each as well as the work that would be involved and an estimate of time and costs. Plumbers Adam and Andy did the actual repair, which was completed within the estimated timeframe and within the established budget. They kept me informed throughout the repair (I wasn’t able to be present during the repair) to make sure I clearly understood and approved of the scope of the work. The guys clearly know what they’re doing – the sink passed inspection and it drains perfectly now (a night and day difference). They had to work in very tight spaces, and their work quite frankly looks like an engineering marvel to me. I will use ENP for all my plumbing needs going forward.

These guys are great. We had them remove all of the galvanized piping from our house and replace it with pex and copper. They were fantastic to work with (easy to get ahold of, punctual, provided us with options without applying pressure), fairly priced, and they did exceptional work. Great job working in our basement to repair a leaking pipe to the outside spigot. Explained what the problem was, fixed it and installed a new outside spigot. He also took the time to explain what to do in winter, which we already do but my hubby has dementia so it was good he told me (and left direction.) Also repaired a leak under my bathroom sink. Everything was clean and neat when they left. Also he had a young woman apprentice, which was nice to see.

In the last two months, I have had Erik Nelson Plumbing work on 4 different things at my house. They worked on my kitchen sink, 2 bathroom sinks and on the pipe that feeds my boiler. They handled each of the 4 jobs with care, and did an excellent job deciphering problems and coming up with solutions. One of the jobs, on our upstairs bathroom, involved fixing some custom work that had been done a few years back. They didn't miss a beat - and immediately found compatible parts from a company in California. In fact, the replacement parts were better than what we previously had. John, the plumber that worked on all four of our jobs was also extremely pleasant and professional. It was clear that he cared about his work. I can't recommend Erik Nelson's plumbers enough. I've now worked with them twice on semi-emergencies: one a frozen pipe last winter and more recently a badly leaking tub drain. Both times they went out of their way to make room in their booked up schedule for next-day fixes. The communication around scheduling via text was excellent and incredibly convenient. The plumbers were friendly, informative, and professional (bonus points for loving my dog). They resolved the issues promptly on both occasions. I had ENP install a new laundry tub. Nick and John did a fantastic job. They demolished the old concrete one and saved me from making huge mistake installing a cheap one I had leftover from my home’s previous owner. They wore masks, socially distanced and showed great respect for us and our home. This was my third time hiring ENP. The quality of their work is high and I recommend them to all.

Fantastic plumber. We had a drip turn into no hot water and then into new pipes and holes in our walls. It was a tough process for which we were not prepared. We contacted Erik Neslon Plumbing with what we thought would be a small repair. With their knowledge of older homes and plumbing systems it was quickly realized that the repair would be more involved. We were impressed with the creative solutions to repair and replace damaged parts of our antiquated plumbing system. Absolutely worth the wait!

Unless you have a plumbing emergency, Erik Nelson Plumbing is worth the (COVID-19-induced) wait, and even then, they're still probably worth it. Adam clearly communicated when he would arrive, and although he ran into a few issues with our old house, he got the job done with impeccable service and at a reasonable rate. I hope that we don't have to see them for a while, but if/when we do have plumbing issues, Erik Nelson will be our first call. Full marks.

Nick and John were prompt (actually early), professional, and provided quality work. They left the work space as clean, if not cleaner, than they found it. They were very personable, too and made sure all our plumbing needed were met.

I love Eric Nelson Plumbing and will never use another plumber. I have used them 4 or 5 times before and always been happy, but their latest service was above and beyond. I had a broken fridge and a new fridge delivered. The guys who delivered the fridge told me my kitchen doorway would have to be ripped out to get the new fridge in. Also, they broke off the copper water line when pulling out the old fridge and I had to go without water. Jarod and Nick came in, moved the old fridge out, down icy steps, fixed the water line and installed the new fridge without ripping out the doorway. I was so relieved and grateful! They were professionals. Courteous, friendly and knowledgable. Five stars.

I spent time with this group sharing to scope of a remodel project in basement. They were obviously over their skis from a technical perspective. They declined to return. Very unprofessional and difficult to work with- highly DO Not recommend.

You know when someone says they have a go-to local plumber? For me, Erik Nelson Plumbing has become that plumber. They won me over when they expertly replaced all of my homes corroded galvanized steel water pipes for modern pex piping. It was a multiday project and, as often happens when you dig into a 100 year old house, required some on-the-spot decision making. The end result was great, from the grunt work to the fine finishes.
