I recently relocated to Raleigh and had some work done on the house that required the carpenters to remove the toilet to lay down a wood floor. It was obvious that the wax seal had deteriorated and needed to be replaced. I researched plumbers on YELP and found that CK Plumbing had excellent reviews. I called to make an appointment and everyone I dealt with was helpful and friendly. Sean and his coworker showed up at my house on schedule, re-placed the wax ring and re-seated the toilet. The charge was what was quoted. I won't hesitate to call them again for more work, or when I redo my bathroom.

DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. This company ripped us off. They got over $800 from us by installing something in our ejector pump and did not fix the problem but instead caused other issues and did not reimburse us or anything. Then tried to tell us we had to get a new ejector pump that would cost us over $5000. We got another plumber to come out and they said the job that Fuller did was incorrect and is what made the problem worst. These guys fixed our issue and only charged us $145.00. It looks like they were trying to only fill their pockets with our hard earned dollars. Once we told him the name of the company that did our work he said there are major law suits against this company and they are known for not completing the job or making it worst. AGAIN I SAY DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE

Air Experts Heating & Cooling Plumber
We had a good experience with the sales and installation teams when we bought an upstairs gas furnace for our house in 2019. Additionally, we had a so-so experience with the twice-a-year maintenance plan that we purchased every year since then. Some of the service techs wanted to sell us extras like a 2nd float switch on our 2019 unit. We already had a float switch with the 2019 unit - a 2nd emergency shutoff switch seemed unnecessary. The reason we’ll never use Air Experts again is that their service was absolutely awful when we needed their help the most: both of our furnaces failed. Not once, but twice in a 5 week period. On Nov 18, 2022, both our upstairs and downstairs furnaces failed. We immediately called Air Experts. It took over a week until Nov 25 before the upstairs furnace was repaired, and they wanted to schedule the downstairs unit for the following Monday. The heat was completely off in our house for a week over Thanksgiving. We had to wear jackets/fleeces/hats in the house and buy a space heater. On top of this, we had to call almost every day to get an update on what was being done to fix our furnaces. The answer was some version of “the parts guy is out” or “the parts are on order from Charlotte”. I feel the parts could get from Charlotte to Durham in less than 2 days, but it still took a week to get the furnaces fixed.Despite this experience, we continued to remain a customer, which in hindsight was a mistake. On Monday (Dec 19, 2022) the downstairs furnace failed. We immediately called Air Experts, since we were leaving town the next day to visit family AND the temperatures were predicted to be 10 degrees on Friday evening. The tech came out and wasn’t able to fix it because he needed a part. He said he would be back tomorrow. The next day, while we were traveling, I called Air Experts to find out if the furnace had been repaired and was told that the part hadn’t been ordered and the furnace wouldn’t be fixed that day. I called again later in the day to try and find out when the furnace would be fixed, since I was very concerned the low temperatures predicted for the weekend would burst our pipes. The customer service agent I spoke to could not have cared less about my situation and offered to cancel our service request as a “solution” to my problem, which I accepted.I called another local HVAC company who was able to send out a tech by Thursday (despite me not being a regular customer). The tech diagnosed and fixed the problem by Friday despite having to go out and get two different parts. In addition, he called me and let me know what was going on every step of the way since I was still out-of-town and very concerned about our pipes bursting. After buying a furnace and purchasing the service plan for over 2 years from Air Experts (totaling over $10,000), I expected better service. I even recommended them to a friend before all this happened, which I now regret.

Project 1: Install tankless water heater.
Highlight: Recommended by a competitor.

We had four companies give us a quote for replacing our natural gas tank water heater with a tankless. One competitor told us that based on the complexity of the install, he would recommend Poole’s Plumbing. And that is who we used. The job consisted of removing the existing natural gas tank water heater, all of it’s venting and sealing all holes where the vent used to be (the old venting was no longer to code). Then installing a direct vent, condensing, non-recirculating new tankless water heater in a new location, installing a condensate pump, and rerouting the plumbing and gas lines to the new location. I would, and have, use them again.

Project2: Install hot water recirculation pump in home that does not have a dedicated return line.

Workmanship: “They do good work.” –City inspector.

Results: From 3 minutes to 3 seconds.

Previously, I had a traditional gas tank water heater in my basement. With it, it took 1 minute for hot water to show up at the furthest sink (laundry room) on the main floor and it took 1 minute for hot water to show up at the furthest sink on the top floor (master bath) of my three-story home.

When I went tankless I did not want built in recirculation because I was not sure I needed that feature and also because those worked on timers and I would want an on-demand type of recirculation system, i.e. water was not recirculated until a remote is pushed or a motion sensor was activated.

After my tankless was installed, the times went from 1 minute to 3 minutes. And these times were independent of each other. When I got hot water in the master bath and immediately went to the laundry room, it still took 3 minutes for hot water to show up there, and vice versa.

To make a very long story short, when I contacted the tankless manufacturer about an under sink recirc pump, they said the model tankless I purchased cannot support recirculation. I relayed this information to Poole’s who in turn, without me asking, contacted the tankless manufacturer and got a totally different answer. The manufacturer even recommended a brand of pump to use. Poole’s then contacted the pump manufacturer (again without me asking), reviewed my home’s layout with them and came up with a solution. It consists of a no-timer, remote activated stainless steel flanged pump installed at the water heater, a 2 gallon expansion tank, insulating the hot water pipes where possible, stainless and brass thermal bypass values installed at the laundry room sink and another installed in the master bath, a wireless receiver and two remotes.

The results? After pushing the remote button, letting the pump operate and opening the hot water on the faucet, I get hot water at both the laundry room and master bath in 3 seconds. Yes, 3 seconds.

Many thanks to Bill and Tim for working with the manufacturers to configure a solution and to Henry and crew for the installation.
