Short Version: Ended up installing brand new system at an AWESOME price, received great service and it was done very promptly and professionally.

Longer: I've used Cape Fear before and called them to come service my downstairs A/C unit because it was cooling sporadically. Technician came out and gave the unfortunate news that my variable motor was broke and is $1500 to replace.

The system was 10 years old and had previous issues. So I went ahead and got multiple estimates for brand new system. Andy came out and gave me the best deal with multiple options/price points for a 2 stage 16 seer trane. He was awesome, not pushy at all and very friendly (I had put dogs in crate but he asked if I could let them out).

System install was done next day. I noticed that the new pad that Trane provided had a crack and felt bad asking if they could switch it out, the technicians had no issues even though it meant more work for them. Very friendly and had it up and running in less than a day.

I LOVE the new Trane thermostat that it came with. Such a better unit, connected within 10 seconds to my wifi. I have to jump through hoops to connect my honeywell 8000 to my wifi.

Can't say enough about my whole experience with Cape Fear.

Oh yeah, I asked another company about replacing the part just to see and he said that $1500 was on the low end to replace that. Great Service at a Great Price!!!

Cape Fear (and Kevin Blasingim specifically) saved the day today. We woke up to no AC with the temperature rising pretty quick. On top of that we had on and off thunderstorms all day. Kevin arrived during the time they said, set up a canopy by our AC unit, and diagnosed the problem in no time. He took the time to explain the situation professionally and showed that he knew what he was talking about. He had it fixed and up and running very quickly and we couldn’t be happier with the results. It’s great knowing my kid will be able to sleep comfortably tonight and that we were taken care of. Ian came out and quickly fixed our ac problem and checked several other components to make sure all was good very friendly and explained everything to me so I understood what happened. I was able to get the problem fixed less than 2 hours after I called! Same day service!!

I called Cape Fear H&A on a Friday morning concerning a leaking air handler at my workplace. Within 2 hours they showed up, fixed the problem, and the issue was resolved. They also replaced my complete AC unit at my home. I've never been more pleased with a company. Best prices, fastest service, and unmatched workmanship. I had some questions about dehumidifying my home and spoke with Kevin from Cape Fear. He was very thorough in explaining my options, the issues I was facing, and the issues underlying THOSE issues. I was really impressed, especially since Cape Fear isn't a Carrier dealer (I have a Carrier AC unit that was the root cause of the issue) and Kevin took his time making sure I understood even knowing it might not make the company money. Using his advice, I was able to identify and fix the problem. Great company! I'll be looking into a Trane when my current unit goes :-)

Our AC went out on a Saturday night in August, and we have a baby so it was critical to get fixed ASAP. Technician Rodney Pope came to the rescue way after hours and was able to get our AC running again. He was informative and explained all the details. Will definitely use again and recommend to our neighbors.

MUST READ:- Our old AC unit had issues and thats when one of my friend recommended Cape Fear. With them we replaced a new unit.
ANDY came in and did the measurements and gave us quotes with 3 options. He also took into account and considered the previous works done on the old unit and quoted accordingly. He was very understanding, knowledgeable and straight forward.
MARTIN and his buddy came in to Install the new Unit. They did a fantastic job on Installing the unit. We had many HVAC unit works and installs on our other houses, but they always left a mess upon finishing. But Martin, cleaned the attic, staircase and the surrounding areas as exactly how it was before.
Unfortunately the drain pipes were clogged with rust and dirt, which actually shut off the new unit at night. Called Cape Fear and spoke to KEVIN the office Manager and he immediately send a tech late at night.
MARK was the tech who came in and took care of all the issues, and even adjusted the pipes for better flow. Mark is a highly skilled tech and you can see that on his job.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAPE FEAR - If you are shopping around for a new HVAC unit, then I recommend you consider Cape Fear and please speak to **Andy** and things will become easy for you.

Their engineer, James, is terrific: he is very professional, friendly, extremely thorough, and respectful of our property.

Joe from the electrical department was very polite, he didn't make assumptions but took the time to clarify exactly what we wanted and did a very clean and tidy job.

Cape Fear installed two heat pumps in our home. Their installation crew was courteous, professional and dedicated. They arrived in the morning and stayed until 9PM to make sure everything was correct. An issue developed and they came out on Sunday to correct the problem. We highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a heating and AC contractor.

2005 Builder-installed 2nd floor system went out a few years ago. I had so many problems with the same brand on the first floor that I really wanted to have a Trane. The repair Company that I called did not sell Trane brand, so I called Cape Fear. Prompt, clean and otherwise excellent installation experience.
18 months ago I did not have a maintenance contract but they showed up within a couple of hours away for a first floor air-conditioning issue in the hot mid summer weather and quickly fixed it.
Since then I have had maintenance contracts and the fellas that come out put on cloth shoe covers like medical professionals when they come inside.
They are very knowledgeable when I have asked questions about the systems and they spend a lot of time cleaning and checking the systems every six months so that we are not caught off guard by a breakdown. (I think it’s in the neighborhood of 45 minutes to an hour on each system.)
Their technician James has been twice for maintenance Contract service and he is excellent! I can’t say enough good things about him!

I started having an issue with my heat yesterday (a Sunday morning-of course!). Called early this morning and got an appointment for the afternoon. My technician Kevin was great! He was on time and took care of the problem. He patiently listened to my descriptions and then addressed all of my questions/concerns. Kevin even showed me the defective part and gave my coils a quick clean. Great tech and overall a great business! Highly recommend both Kevin and Cape Fear!

The HVAC in my old house ran constantly in both summer and winter but never hit the temperatures set on the thermostat. The electricity bills were exorbitant. I called Cape Fear Air to assess the problem. As it turns out there were many, many issues with the original installation with uninsulated ducts, ducts of the wrong size, way too many ducts, insufficient air return, and more. Tom and Tony came out to remediate the problems and did an outstanding job. The HVAC works 100% better, the house is comfortably cooled/heated as required but the heat pumps do not need to run all the time. Electric bills dropped immediately to half what they were before. Would definitely use this company again.

AC checkup. Kevin found everything in order. No repairs needed. Kevin was friendly and very knowledgeable. I used to do HVAC work so I know what to look for. I was also impressed with the high tech equipment. I have already scheduled the fall checkup.

I work from home, and barely heard them doing their work, during the 7-8 hours they were here. They arrived on time. Laid down tarps, from the front door, to the attic crawl space, and wore booties while in the house. They cleaned up their mess, inside and out.
They did a rezoning of my entire system, and installed a 2nd thermostat in my upstairs office. I called the next day, as the system didn't seem quite right. A technician arrived within an hour of my call, made a few adjustments, and all is good. He even locked my door, as he left, as I was working upstairs.

I have used Cape Fear for over ten years now. And I can’t say enough good things about Rodney. He is a senior technician for them. He is very knowledgeable and posses great professionalism. I have to mention that my Trane system is a very complex machine. it has a computer, Wi-Fi and it has a variable speed compressor and air handler. Upon demand the compressor and air handler turns on at 1/10 of 1%. It’s the quietest system I’ve ever seen. True comfort. The skill and care that Rodney shows is what makes all the difference for me on choosing Cape Fear!

I became familiar with Cape Fear in July , 2022. I have a 3.5 year old Trane unit that to say the least was a problem child from the time it was installed. 12 visits by four different companies including the installer did not solve my 3.5 year old problem. Enter Rodney Pope of Cape Fear. One diagnostic visit and a next day return with the proper part and my troubles were over in the month of July. I have since needed further service on the same unit and had the same great experience with Rodney Pope. He is a credit to Cape Fear and to his HVAC industry.

We used Cape Fear for HVAC installation and ductwork replacement. We are really happy with the work performed! Very professional personnel, on time, and in a good mood ☺️ and ready to work! Got a good discount on the project too, which I didn't expect. Thank you!

Mike Pallares from Cape Fear HVAC in Raleigh, NC came to my house for basic maintenance services in December, 2021, and again for follow-up work in January, 2022. In addition to basic maintenance work for heating, he connected the common line on both of my systems, needed to properly provide power to my digital thermostats, and installed an improved emergency shutoff switch for the cooling subsystem to mitigate against flooding in the case that the overflow drain becomes clogged. In the past, with a prior system I did have a problem with an incorrectly installed shutoff system when there was a problem, and the drain pan did overflow, causing damage to the ceiling in my kitchen. I was using a different HVAC service at that time, and have since switched to Cape Fear. The new switch that Mike installed is an important upgrade.

Mike was courteous and friendly during both visits to my house, and demonstrated that he is quite knowledgeable about these systems, how they are meant to be installed and maintained, and how they work. Mike was detail oriented, and answered my questions with good information. Mike and Cape Fear HVAC have earned my trust, and I'm happy to continue engaging their services to keep my house cool and warm when needed!

The other day I turned on my AC for the first time this year and it seemed to be fine. After a few days passed I noticed the machine was acting up. It seemed as if it was working too hard and kept cutting on and off. I called Cape Fear and they sent Austin, Joe, & Kenny out to fix they issue. These guys were great, they diagnosed the problem and had the system fixed within a few hours.

Great experience all-around with Cape Fear! I initially reached out to them when my heat stopped working. A serviceman was able to come out within a few hours and get it working. I then contemplated replacing both hvac systems as they were old and in need of expensive repair. The project manager came out the next day and gave me an estimate. I decided to purchase new units and was able to get installation appointments for the following week. The installers were on time, friendly, very professional throughout, and completed the work as scheduled. I had my downstairs HVAC system replaced on Dec 18th 2021.Mr Tim was very friendly and helpful in choosing a system and explaining everything before the start of work and called back to check if everything went well.I had forgotten about Duke energy credit, He reminded me of Duke energy credit and also applied it on my behalf.
Technicians who did the work were very professional and very easy to work with. They explained every step before they started working. The technician had to take three trips to tune up my other system, replace fire alarms. I am very happy with the service provided.

I would definitely recommend this company for both new installs and repairs. We just had some preventative maintenence done on the new unit they installed for us earlier this year. Our technician, Kevin B. Was super professional amd nice and took the time to explain everything and also look at our older unit upstairs. Cape Fear Air Raileigh. I really like working with them. Them are quick and responsible. They pick phone calls quickly and took my matter as important. The project manager gets back to me quickly and set up my appointment promptly. It was just before Thanksgiving everybody was busy but he treated me really well. Then I got my new furnace installed the next Tuesday after Thanksgiving. The technicians are nice, too. So perfect score, 100 percent satisfaction. strongly recommend.

We had to do a full HVAC replacement. Antonio, Nelson, and Kevin were great! Antonio and Nelson showed up on time and got right to work. Stephen R. And his team were very accommodating to our strict scheduling demands to get our system fixed without disrupting our business operations at All 4 Paws Animal Hospital. Since we opened 5 years ago we have had to run our air conditioning year-round to keep the treatment area of our clinic comfortable. Our reception area was a crisp 68 degrees while our treatment area stayed a muggy 76 degrees year-round. The company who installed our system wanted over $200 just to come out and see if anything could be done to fix the problem less than 1 year after they installed it! Cape Fear charged less than half that to assess the problem, then were able to guve us a low cost solution. They did all the work within about 3 hours and arrived and completed clean up on time so we could continue to see patients and clients seamlessly. Now our entire clinic maintains an even, comfortable temperature of 72 degrees and I will save money by running the AC less and not having a space heater running in my reception area all year! Thank you to Stephen and his team as well as the friendly and helpful receptionist of the Cape Fear Raleigh office! Highly recommended for home or commercial HVAC repairs/install/maintenance. If only they did electrical and plumbing!!!

After having a lot of issues with my Hvac system and deal with “other companies here in Fayetteville” Cape Fear Air Condition and Heating Company surpaced our expectations

From the beginning of the visit to inspect the system and give a final quote Robert Deese and his staff work with a lot of care and even recomend super great options and solutions for our home, trust me they know what they do!

Installion day, wao! David, Max, and Erick came on that morning with a weather that was 40 degrees, nasty rain, slit and frigid cold wind, they push the customers service 1000 percent, work tirelessly even without a lunch break, just getting our system up and running, they give the extra mile, re-placing the entire system! And even having little troubles they did and exceed my expectation! They do care! Also they took the time to also show us the entire installation and explain the system and capabilities of such, what a team!

I took my hat off too them and commend them for the work they did! I recommend this company too all and especially this great team of David, Max, and Erick.

Can’t say enough good things about Cape Fear and our technician, James. Our AC stopped cooling on a Friday afternoon when the temp was 95 outside. James from Cape Fear was here an hour later. He quickly found a bad capacitor and took time to show me the reading on the bad one and new one. He checked our refrigerant and compressor, which he had to cool down because it has overheated. All else was well. An hour later our house is cooling down. Timely, professional and knowledgeable service call.

Our company had a great initial experience with Cape Fear Air Conditioning & Heating. Justin came out to gather info to provide an estimate on replacing a couple HVAC units on our roof. He showed up when he said he would and was professional and courteous while onsite. Justin was quick to send us the quote and worked hard to get us additional quotes when we were considering replacing several units.

Justin always made himself available to answer questions whether by phone or email. We made sure to do our due diligence and received bids from many vendors and found that Cape Fear's pricing was one of the most competitive. In the end we opted to use another company, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cape Fear to anyone based on our experience. We will definitely consider them in the future for our needs.

They were on time - an hour early, even, which was great (they called first to make sure it was ok). Ian was friendly and efficient, and just did what needed to be done without trying to make it out to be a bigger problem than it was (we just needed a new capacitor - a completely normal problem). Labor price was great, part price was typical. I would definitely hire them again. This was from their Wake County office. (I think they also have one in Fayetteville.)

The sole caveat - I called a bit too early (7:30am) and got their 24/7 answering service. The operator took my information with a promise they'd call me back when they got in. I didn't hear back for a few hours, so I called again (around 11:30am) . This time I got one of their usual employees and got the appointment scheduled right away. (I suspect I would have heard back eventually had I been more patient, but who knows.) Ergo, I'd suggest calling after 8am unless it's an emergency.

I bought a new heat pump from Cape Fear. Their staff was very friendly and helpful. Their crew was there in no time and had me back up and running. I would recommend them to anyone looking a new unit or servicing and existing one.
