Best Clogged Drain in Minneapolis MN

Friends, charging a “flat rate” and not disclosing costs is shady business.

We were charged over $600 for an hour and a half of work. The piece that was replaced was a ball valve. My wife was flustered and paid them. I called for an itemized listing of parts and labor. The response I received was condescending and evasive. I talked with 2 separate people and they stated “It’s standard business practice. We charge a flat rate.” When I kept asking them to tell me the cost of the part they avoided and said their supervisor would call me...that was over a week ago.

Since then, I called another professional plumber and asked for a blind bid. He quoted me $350 for the job.

If you want to be condescended and charged double, this is the company for you!

Jake the Plumber was our first experience with hiring a plumber, and we were very pleased. They were prompt, the cost was reasonable, they took the time to go over the repair in detail, and thoroughly answered any questions that we had. We live on the opposite side of the metro from Jake's, and thus had a travel cost, but it was well worth it. We will definitely use them again the next time we need a plumber.

Eric did a great job, however the price was much more than expected. I used a local company 3 years ago for the same issue and they only charged me half the cost ($175.00). I will use them next time.

I had a major clog, preventing any water in my household to drain, on a Sunday evening. I called everyone else in the area and most either had nothing available for a couple of days or did not work on Townhomes. Roto-Rooter not only had a technician out to my house within an hour, but they also did not charge me additional for weekend emergency house call. The technician had me cleaned and cleared within 2 hours and I was able to continue my business. The pricing maybe have been more than if I could have shopped around or waited a couple days, but everything else they did for me was more than worth the costs.

This place also goes by the name Ken's Sewer Services.
Right off the bat when talking to the scheduler/operator I had a feeling this place was not at all professional. When the tech arrived with tools in a bucket I didn't feel any better.

And then the time came for the fix...
The tech didn't have a handle puller to pull my shower faucet handle off. I stupidly agreed to pay a visit fee of $80 on the weekend. I regretted it right away because the tech had no shot to fix the problem, not having the tool to get past step one.

Don't go with this place. Absolutely no reason to pick them over an Eric Nelson Plumbing or Athena or Burnomatic or Uptown Plumbing.

Didn't get the refund I was after either,
A week later (Saturday) I called them to ask for some sort of refund. The person on the other end said it was busy that Easter weekend and told me they'd look into it and call me back on Tuesday. It's now the following Monday and I never got a call. Called them and ranted as politely as I could. He offered me 10% off my next plumbing job with them. Ha.

We had a drain clog backup that caused water to cover our entire basement. I called Ken’s around 6pm and they were over in about 30 minutes. The completed the job in a short time and the price was fair. I would recommend to anyone looking for a reliable plumber in the metro area!

Tech was very friendly and professional and gave me a call when he was on the way to my house. I am happy with the service. My only beef is the $533 I paid for labor for installing a garbage disposal (and I provided the disposal), and that was with a $55 company credit. Seems awfully high when google says the average cost is $185. **EDIT: The office called me minutes after I left this review and offered to bring the cost down to $350 in exchange for an alteration of my 1-star review. I'm glad to know that they are paying attention to customer feedback, and I've adjusted my rating accordingly.

Punctual, excellent service, fair price and efficient! I called, they answered, they came quickly and fixed my plumbing issues right away. Amazing work.

What a great company! I messed up the timing of an appointment and they kindly agreed to reschedule. Came to my house and gave me a free assessment of the work that needed to be done. He was honest and professional, and I will definitely be requesting their service again if I need additional work done!

Fast, prompt, honest,and reasonably priced!

Zeb was very kind and helpful. He explained to me what the problem was and what he was doing. He was very knowledgeable.

From the time I placed the service call to the time the plumbers arrived was under 45 minutes. Brian listened to my concerns with a blocked toilet in the addition to our home, and asked more questions to fully understand my issues. He gave me a full outline of solutions starting with the easiest and most likely problem, but also was very clear that he was unable to know how expensive the work could be.Brian worked quickly to get my toilet running again, and it ended up being a tougher issue than first expected and I was prepared for that due to his diagnostic explanations.I would not hesitate to recommend RotoRooter, and I would certainly request Brian (tech 936) to come again if I needed anything in the future.

Corey and Todd were great! I had a mainline sewer repair and Corey came out right away when I contacted him. He explained the work that he needed to do to make the repair, both prior to the repair and during the repair process. His quote for the work was competitive and reasonable. He cleaned up after doing the work and was all-around great to work with. I would highly recommend Metro Earthworks!!
